It is 7:30 pm, 14th April, 2024.
As I sit at my table with my books infront of me, I wish to go back, to 2013.
When time ran a bit slower. When my mama used to wake me up and carry me to the bathroom to brush my teeth when I was sleepy. When my baba would pick me up and walk to school in the morning. When mama would often be a little late to pick me up from school due to my infant sister. When I'd start crying if she got too late out of worry. When she'd finally come and laugh before hugging me tightly. When I'd get home and turn on the TV. When there were no smartphones and we used to spend our time watching Doraemon. When my mama would sit beside me on the floor in the evening with my sister in her lap, as she helps me with my homework. When the lights were a little dimmer at our little home. When I'd wait for the thrum of Baba's bike from the balcony. When baba's knock meant no more homework, when I'd run downstairs to open the door. When baba's knock meant a new chance of him having brought something for me everyday. When Baba's knock meant there will be news on TV and I'd finally get to play with my sister as my mom prepares dinner. When 8 pm meant mama's time on TV serials, which all of us would watch, despite baba's insistence that they're stupid. When we would have dinner together sitting on the cool floor and then sleep together on the same bed.
I want to go back.
Now mama still wakes me up, but I can't climb on her lap, cuz I'm taller than her. Now baba takes me to school, but I can no longer climb on his shoulders, it'd hurt his back. Now I come back home alone, nobody picks me up. I don't cry anymore, I'm responsible for myself. Now I get home and turn on my phone, nobody watches TV anymore. Mama doesn't help me with homework anymore, she hasn't touched my books since 2 years. I don't get out of my room when baba knocks anymore. It doesn't mean study time is over anymore, I study all day. It doesn't mean there's news on TV, it stays quiet in the living room. My sister and I don't play together anymore, I have my friends and she has hers. Mama still prepares dinner, but it's much quieter now. We still eat together, but not on the floor. Nobody talks during dinner. Now we don't sleep together, I sleep alone in my room.
I can see my parents aging, I can see the grey hair on their heads, I can see they get tired faster now, I can see I'm getting stonger and more able bodied than them as time passes. I can see the rooms are brighter now. I can see the house is quieter now. I can see my sister is no longer an infant, I can see her growing into a teenager. I can see my parents don't have the same energy they had while I was her age. I can see them give up easier and let her do whatever she feels like.
But sometimes.
Sometimes I find old photos, we all look at them and my parents laugh. I see the memories shining beneath their eyes. Sometimes my mama still wakes me up, and tries to pick me up, which ends up in me picking her up instead. Sometimes my mom says she'll come to school to pick me up, my heart leaps at the thought and I agree instantly. Sometimes we come home and my sister turns on Disney channel and we re-watch Doraemon episodes together while having lunch. Sometimes when baba comes home, I get up and open the door, sometimes he turns on the news to listen to those horrendous debates. I don't mind them anymore. Mama doesn't watch serials anymore, but she does watch some movies. Baba doesn't complain anymore. Sometimes I go and hug my sister instead of being on my phone in my free time, sometimes she kisses me on my cheeks again. Sometimes I go annoy mama in the kitchen as she makes dinner. Sometimes I turn off the lights to make the home just a little dimmer. Sometimes we all still sit around the heater in winters as we have our dinner. Sometimes we turn on Discovery channel and get fascinated and disgusted simultaneously with Baba.
Sometimes, it feels like I'm back to 2013 again.

'Apo-Nattawin' faith and belief that effort never betrays dreams.
Tumblr media
Before the day, I had the opportunity to talk with Apo. We looked at his IG first. And then was struck by the cute and fun poses of the pictures and reels he took with Doraemon.
“Very cute. And then when I went to see the biography of the person who wrote Doraemon (Fujio Fujiko), it was really cool. With the fact that he wrote down each chapter from his travels abroad and photographed it. Before drawing it into various episodes in Doraemon, when I was a kid I liked Doraemon. And read a lot of comic books. Whether Naruto or Doctor Slum,” Apo talks about what he got from the futuristic cat robot and continues:
“As an ambitious child, there will be a feeling that everything can happen. And Doraemon makes us feel that everything can really happen. I like that the writer has imagination and is able to express that. What is his imagination? That means that belief or imagination can actually happen. And it inspired me.”
Do you remember the picture of yourself as a child? What was Apo like?
If you go back to Boy Apo, you can see pictures of him and the city of Hua Hin. He was there. In a tenement house, living with parents, siblings, and grandmother. The family atmosphere is Thai-Chinese, we are used to parents speaking Thai and talking to children in Thai. But I will speak Chinese with Grandma. My family is a big, warm family.
It feels like a Chinese child if our parents speak Chinese to Grandma and Grandpa. Can you hear it?
I can hear it when he curses (laughs). It's when Grandma and Grandpa secretly talk to their parents. Complaining about us in Chinese to our parents. And when he speaks often, we will remember that this word is a curse word.   It's like he's finished talking to us. Then scolding us and our parents. That's about it.
I know that when I was a child, I loved to pray with my mother.
I may not remember all the moments from that time. But my mother always told me that when I was a child When I cried, my mother would lead me up to pray with her. Which is already my mother's daily routine, So she took me up to pray with her. Because when we pray, we become quiet and gradually absorb it.
That's a picture of one activity you often did as a child.
Yes, when I was a child I didn't go out and play like other kids. For example, on New Year's, other people go out to play, go to temple festivals, watch fireworks, but for me, my parents take me to the temple to pray and make merit. As a child, there are activities that I always do at the temple with my family. That was a religious activity. When I entered Mathayom 4, I had to transfer from Hua Hin Wittayalai School to study at Yothinburana School in Bangkok. And that was the first time I realized that what our parents really instilled in us.
How?
When I moved to live alone, at first I was happy, feeling like a child who was now free. I know I'm growing up. But I'm staying in Bangkok for a while until the New Year festival. Eh... Where should I go? Other people have plans to travel there and here. But I can't imagine. My childhood memories take me back again. That is, going to the temple. So I went to Wat Amphawan in Sing Buri Province. Take the train to celebrate the New Year with yourself there, that is, go pray.
You said you went alone. It shows that you are a person who likes to do things alone. Have you ever felt lonely?
Actually, I have an older sister and a younger brother. But we weren't very close when we were kids. My older sister is at an all-girls school. As for his younger brother, he is at a boarding school. My parents tend to give their children a lot of freedom. So I'm not sure if I'm lonely or not. Because I saw my parents working hard. With the belief that education is important. We cannot deny that education comes with expenses. He works and sends us to study to have knowledge. Our children's duty is to study, so we don't feel lonely even though our parents still work hard.
It's said that changing schools takes you out of your comfort zone.
It's like starting a new life. Like putting clothes in a bag (laughs) because I studied in Hua Hin at the same school from kindergarten until the end of Mathayom 3. Changing schools is already a big deal. But moving provinces, moving is like having to learn a new life. We are like fish out of water. Because when I came to study in Bangkok, I didn't have any friends yet. As for his friends at school, he has a group that he has studied with since childhood. It's called having to continually adapt.
Coming to a new life in Bangkok It's like a path that was drawn to work in the entertainment industry.
I started by working first. Then had the opportunity to get to know P'Bem. He was the one who brought me to cast a drama on Channel 3, which overlapped with the time I was entering Rangsit University. And it's a young age where we don't have to follow many rules anymore. I didn't have to cut it. We wear whatever clothes we want to wear. I didn't study from morning until evening. I feel like I've grown into an adult. In addition, he also came to act in his first drama.
Sod Revenge Saen Rak It's the first drama where you worked with a big actor. And this drama is very famous.
Yes, but the drama will focus on the timeline of the senior generation. As for me, I'm a new kid, I'm very new, so people don't know me a bit.
GQ: But many people know Apo's name precisely from the first drama. But after that, you disappeared from the industry.
I disappeared. It's just thinking that people only have one life. So what will we do in life? That day, I was 25 years old and had not yet made a final decision with myself about which direction to take. One day we were filming a drama. Then there are 2 dramas a year. They finish filming, go out to work, and then start filming a new drama. Life is just a loop. There isn't much variety. In fact, I want to work on something that is diverse. I've been acting in dramas since I was 19 years old, and doing modeling, but I've never tried any other careers. In addition to playing the role of a character That is to do the career of that character. So I asked myself, should I go find something to do first? Even though at that time I loved being an actor. But I want to try and find something to do to fight for my life. It's really life, of one man, how to fight. First of all, I decided to focus on finishing my studies first. Then gradually go to settle in a foreign country.
GQ: That's the United States.
Yes, I went to New York with the intention of becoming an actor. I wanted to try. I always thought, if I had to leave tomorrow. And I haven't fulfilled my dream yet, I will regret it. But if I did it today, whatever the result will be, whatever it is. We just stepped out. That's all it takes to be happy.
GQ: How did you start following your dreams?
I sell everything. Selling here and there privately. Then collect all the clothes you have in Thailand. I mean, I guess I won't come back. The time when we were slowly packing up our things and booking plane tickets. Manage everything It's like life is about to start over. At that time, it was like, oh... This is the feeling of a person who dares to make a decision or do something seriously. Because all this time, my work is just modeling and acting. To be honest, it's about earning money. Which for me may not be the answer. Because when there is a good script or character, that will only be forwarded into the channel's working system.
GQ: What was it like starting a new life there? And what do you clearly see of the people there?
Let's start with the culture of the people there. I will explain it like this. Can you imagine that? In New York, we just step out of the house. No one walked slowly. If you don't walk the dog or eat anything, no one walked slowly. Everyone walks quickly. Therefore, it means that everyone has goals for their daily life. which we are one of them. It makes me feel happy to be in a place where everyone has the same energy as me.
Later, my first goal was to enter acting school. which requires a lot of money It's like having to have extra money to back up for university. I want to attend the William Esper Studio acting school, which aside from costing a lot of money, Must apply for visa correctly. So I went to study the language first.
But because the cost of living there is very high. And my background is not any type of person. You can sleep any way you want. At least if we have to live somewhere. Or we can do something to get us to the place we choose. It's better than having to save everything. Or go to a place where we don't want to be. If so, I would like to use more energy to stay in a good environment and room. That means I have to work harder. To be in the Bedford Avenue area, I think energy here is us. Because I think the Manhattan side is not energy like us.
Cutting back to the room, the room only has this space. (He assembled it by hand.) There was no wardrobe. I use the method of placing the suitcases close together. On the other side is a bed and a desk. which I need to fold all the laundry Allocate it to all areas. And on top of the head is a heater that can hold a few things that don't look too dangerous . Well, when I'm in a situation like this, I'm... well, that's really cool. That we live in a place we like, but oh my, the living conditions are very difficult. But I try to remember that day and say, OK, if one day we grow up, we will never forget this day. We have tried doing something like this. And then I was very happy.
GQ: From a child who lives with a large family. There are parents to take care of. Then one day I had to go live abroad, which was like having to start a new life. Was there any event where you felt like you were truly out of your shell?
Our families may not be very close. But I was taken care of by my parents, who could say that they made sure that even the littlest things, like assuming we were in Bangkok, Then he said he wanted a razor. He would buy it from Hua Hin and drive it to me. That is, he is a parent who loves his children and takes care of them that much. So that means I almost never have to fight on my own.
Until one day when I was in America, I went to buy oranges and remembered that 3 oranges cost 1.5 dollars. I thought "what if they were wrong?" So we I a picture. Okay, take 3 oranges and pay. It turned out that the employee was charging 1 coin per orange, making a total of 3 coins. That is, he was charging more than the promotional price at that time, so we, ah, got on with it (laughs). I took a picture for them to look at and said you were wrong. At that time, in my heart I was secretly afraid that he would scold me back. But as soon as he finished, what he replied was ' Ok fine! ' at that moment. It was the moment when I felt like, "Hey! You can do it here.
I walked out and stood in front of the store and held an orange and a receipt. Hey! He has given the wrong amount. He has given too much because of my love of justice. So I went back and told him again. I can remember the moment it came out. If it's a movie We were standing and the camera must have tracked in front of us. Then the camera panned up to the sky. Like the picture in the movie The Shawshank Redemption where Andy Dufresne gets out of prison . My feeling is like being free like that.
From the normal time of buying things I've never looked at what, how much, if it's the correct change. I've never looked at a receipt since I was born. Because someone takes care of us His parents will buy it for him. So I'm used to having my parents take care of me. But that day was the day I grew up! (smile)
GQ: Your life changed because of oranges.
Yes, it was one of the turning points because of Orange.
GQ: And another turning point that cannot be denied is that Kinn Porsche The Series has not made you known only in Thailand. But it goes far to the global level.
Speaking of that time, I still didn't understand anything. But when Be On Cloud came to do it, we knew right away that this was a turning point. He came and spread out the whole pattern, the script, the characters, everything. Okay, we started to see the picture. See the script being developed Until it started to get intense That's important because everyone believes the same thing. No one on the team said it was impossible. Everyone will believe that it is possible. Even I myself have never seen anything like Kinn Porsche have done before. The B on Cloud team and I did our very best and with every imagination we believed it would be possible.
Assuming 100 percent, it's possible 50-60 if you really work globally. It means their technology, their equipment, their creativity. Including various cultures Bring it together with us It should be able to create really cool work. Suppose you work with Christopher Nolan (Christopher Nolan), how many people in the world will there be? that can tell the story of the universe and we believe it really exists Or maybe he doesn't have him. But it can make us feel like we are part of it. How do you know what that era was like? Just a book with only drawings and letters. But he can make it out. If so, we want to try to carry out our intentions. Then mix it Or try to work with people at the global level who have cutting-edge equipment or thinking methods. I think it would be fun. At least I just want to do it. I'm very happy.
GQ: Do you think it's effort or ambition? What's more important?
We have to come together. If you're ambitious, then you don't try. It would be like asking for a blessing from a monk and then not getting the job done.
GQ: Nowadays, if you choose to do a piece of work, What do you think is basic?
I will consider that tomorrow we may not be on this planet anymore. Suppose we are not alive. Then we turned around and looked. What are we proud of? What have we done for anyone? As of today, this is one thing that we are very proud of. So it's a fan club. They are not just supporting us. But they intend to come and support us. Stay tuned for our work. Every time we have to do our best. We send happiness We send them our full love because it is give and take.
Therefore, we must intend to give. So what do we have? We may not have anything to offer. But we have eyes that can comfort you. We have words that can help heal your heart. We have positive energy to give her. We can exchange it. She definitely didn't come to waste. I feel that this is one thing that we are very proud of that we have done for the people who love us.
GQ: Do you think that the entertainment industry, if not including money, how has it changed you?
A lot has changed. Like just now, I thought that all the time I was working (Fashion shoot with GQ Thailand ) Seriously, money is the last item. Because I will choose the choice that if we are not here, have you done anything for anyone yet? OK, money has to be spent. But what has changed is that I want to create pride in what we have done for others.
GQ: How do you see the future of your acting career?
I still have dreams of working at the global level. Like many actors, for a person to become famous, he must be dedicated. This is what I like about New York: it's a melting pot and everything moves so fast. If you can't do it, you leave and let someone who is more skilled come in and do it. Because there are hundreds of people who can do better than you. But what should you do to be able to survive? Everyone is equally talented. Everyone might be better at it. I think this is the coolness. I want to study what he thinks, what he sees, how he lives his life. What are your plans in life? Because right now we don't just want money.
GQ: You have a goal and you have to reach it.
I believe there is no one on earth who says we have to be like this, have to do this, but I believe, I believe, I believe.
GQ: One day we will see what you want to do and be successful.
Thank you. At least I have to do what I want to do (smiles).

Tag Game: 10 fandoms, 10 characters
Tagged by dear friend @bloobluebloo (I should be doing this from @tonbane account but I've been too talkative there 🙊) I don't consume a lot of media so this is a challenge for me
1. Just like Bloo, Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda. I love him so so much there's so much made up lore in my brain 🧠
2. Marcille from Dungeon Meshi. I love stressed lesbian 🤝
3. Crowley from Good Omens. I love stressed nonbinary lesbian 🤝
4. To all my Sims 2 besties: Pascal Curious from Strangetown. He's literally my blorbo I love to play as him
5. I'm running out of shows. I really like our goddess Cybele from real life. She originated in Anatolia in the Neolithic and I love that there's traces of her throughout the southern Mediterranean travelling west until it reached iberians and she became the patron goddess of Madrid :3
6. I ran out of recent blorbos. I too watched Shin Chan when I was little, does that count? But I related more to Misae the mom because once again, the levels of stress HDHDJSH (there's something wrong with me)
7. I also watched Doraemon but Nobita was so cringe for me when I was little, I felt so much embarrassment at his mistakes lmao. Also both shin Chan and Doraemon are translated to almost all languages in Spain, my sis could watch it in her native language, isn't that neat? :3
8. AH!!! Yennefer from The Witcher!!! I literally wrote a 10 page essay about her at university lmaooo. So yeah I love the symbolisms and how she's always had fortitude and resolve and potential power but was not respected for her looks (and blood) so she changes to a conventionally beautiful body and NOW people feel afraid? She's always been that insanely powerful (and insane <3)
9. I'm literally going through my gallery to remember what shows I like. I love WWDITS (film and show) how could I forget. From the show, I love Nadja because she's like an exaggerated version of my beloved sister. I know it doesn't sound like a compliment but it is HAHAHA she's so alive!!
10. I had to rack my brains for this. Miku has been one of my longest blorbos since highschool. One of my fan videos has 63k views in YouTube but you'll never find it 😈 (jk it's extremely easy to find)
PHEW!!! That was fun!
I tag my recent boopers 🐾 if they're up for it! @panna-acida @avenin @gay-moth-nerd @mailjeevas66 @ganonfan1995 WEEEEEE!!!

Unpopular Opinions On Doraemon #2
shizuka should have ended up with dekisugi, or at least she deserved someone better than nobita. and not because he was a loser and a bad student, but rather because he wasn't very respectful of her and treated her like an object & a trophy to win. my sis wasn't even allowed to have a male friend without nobita losing his mind & becoming a jealous mess. actually, forget relationships & friendships, she can't even play a role unless he's her male counterpart. not to mention all those inappropriate scenes, you know which ones. idk abt u but me personally, i wouldn't see myself marrying a guy who does that to me.
to stay on topic, i don't like how grossed out by the idea of marrying jaiko he is & u know it's not because she's gian's sister, it's because she's ugly to him. he'd rather be with a pretty girl he has nothing in common with. and it's lowkey upsetting cuz there's some cute moments between nobita & jaiko but whatever.
nobita needs to stop inserting himself into suneo, gian & shizuka's business when he wasn't invited in the first place. i'm specifically talking about the space heroes film where those 3 are cosplaying as superheroes they saw on tv & filming themselves, & outta nowhere nobita & doraemon wanna join... there's many other occasions where those 2 pull this shit & it gives off desperate & obsessed everytime. and u know what irritates me the most? that they try to paint suneo as a snobby kid who excludes the poor loser, but the tea is: u can't force ppl to invite u to their activities, especially when it comes to family trips, that's private shit!
no, i'm not done dragging nobita yet, cuz he needs to stop copying suneo's hobbies. and i ain't even talking abt when he wants the same toys as suneo, everyone else wants them too. i'm talking abt when he copies specific hobbies like the fashion designer thing, i've already talked about this in a previous post & it's annoying & once again makes him look boring, obsessed & desperate. specially when suneo does it cuz it's his passion & relies on his knowledge & skills, while nobita only tries to keep up w him & has to rely on doraemon's gadgets cuz he obviously has no idea what he's doing, he's just bitter suneo eats him up everytime.

The designs for everyone else in the Tanaka-Chung Household are here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rina is currently in the final year of high school and looking to study music at SFAI. She's also a wannabe idol, but that's something that her sister and parents are worried about because of how dark the show business is, especially when you're a musical idol.
Emiko is the owner of Tanaka DIY, the family's hardware store. Emiko also used to be a bike racer, and she has a reputation for being the "Hot Pot Shogun" in SoMa.
And Dae Seong is a doctor at the emergency department at SF's City General Hospital. Despite being a caring and well-meaning father, he has a pretty strained relationship with his daughters, especially Gogo, because of the pressure he puts on her to fit in...
And after knowing about his eldest's hero work, he looks like this for the rest of the season.
Tumblr media
VA meme time:
Rina: Michaela Dietz (voice of Dolly Dalmatian, Amethyst, Vee)
Emiko: Jessica Gee (voice of Gian/Big G's Mum from the Doraemon English dub)
Dae Seong: Jim Pirri (voice of Alador Blight)

10 fandoms 10 characters!
I got tagged by @notsobeautifuldisaester
In no order (except for #1 cause #1 is the best lmao)
Jughead Jones (Archie Comics)
Tumblr media
The best character in anything ever (he's literally me). Nearly all versions of Jughead are GOATED. (Excet C*le Sp***e, idk what the casting directors were thinking)
2. Fred Jones (Scooby-doo)
Tumblr media
If you hate him, then there is something wrong with you. He is literally the human form of a golden retriever and can do no wrong. (Two Jones's in a row, whoa)
3. Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls)
Tumblr media
Literally the reason why I started going as Mason. Something about this sassy, possibly autistic, guy just resonates with me. (Fun fact: these three characters I headcanon as autistic, will the pattern end?)
4. Horse (Centaurworld)
Tumblr media
She's a horse who does cool shit, what's not to love. Also I find her relatable as hell (The autistic headcanoning pattern stopped at Dipper. But will the ( ) pattern ever end?)
5. Fluttershy (My Little Pony)
Tumblr media
Can do no wrong ever. Best pony. Best member of the main six. If you hate her then I probably hate you too (She's a horse too)
6. Shiro (Scan2Go)
Tumblr media
My tortured little woof woof. (Also he's cool, I love him)
7. Suneo Honekawa (Doraemon)
Tumblr media
Cringy little bastard fox boy. I haven't watched Doraemon in ages but he's still my favourite
8. Mitsuo Suwa (Perman)
Tumblr media
Been ages since I watched Perman too but I still like this asshole. Also as Perman, he could probably kick my ass and I'm afraid of that
9. Congo (Pandalien)
Tumblr media
He's the big guy in this screenshot. He's cool. I love the size difference between him and his sister. As far as pandas go, he's really cool.
10. Aggron (Pokemon)
Tumblr media
I'm putting a pokemon in this cause I'm running out of characters. I do what I want. I know he dies to being punched but so do I. He's a big cool man.
I'm gonna tag @salty-pupcake

Welcome to the Freak House!

About Us
Audrey Arson
Tumblr media
I'm the oldest of the band. I'm a bit of a self-proclaimed older sister to the others and I feel super protective of them. When I'm not making music with the band you can usually find me working on my comic or some other artistic pursuit. I'm a chronically exhausted college student. You can tell what songs I wrote by them having a more jazzy or melancholy tone to them or just being bat-shit off the walls insane. Some of my inspirations are MCR, Scene Queen, , Set It Off, and Demi Lovato (for some reason).

Butchface
Tumblr media
I’m that guy with the neon green hair in the blog’s pfp lol. pronouns are he/him, xe/xem/xyr, and it/its. I take a lot of influence from older punk rock and, surprisingly, country and folk music. my favorite bands are My Chemical Romance, Oingo Boingo, They Might Be Giants, The Cure, Talking Heads, Bikini Kill, Shilpa Ray, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Iron Maiden, The Magnetic Fields, The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra, Lemon Demon, Man or Astro-Man, Radiohead (not in a pretentious way, I swear), Will Wood, Creedence Clearwater Revival… oh boy, there’s a lot. I like music! I tend to disappear at unpredictable intervals due to chronic pain/fatigue and parental restrictions, but I always come back. I like writing songs about things I’m passionate about, which is often personal, sometimes political, and every now and then a ballad about freaky-looking deep sea creatures. or weevils. I keep my dad’s old stenobook by my bedside to write lyrics in - he wrote lyrics for the Panama City punk bands he was in in 1990-ish in there, and I figured I could put it to good use again after all these years. he’s cool with it. see you around, and stay safe out there 🪲
Harley Homicide

I'm sassy, I'm trashy and (if you pay me enough) I'll let you put it in my ass-y. I'm the band's second oldest and the token British person. I use any pronouns, I literally don't care what you call me xx. My music taste is all over the place, having been raised by a metalhead and a former chav during a time where pop punk and emo were more mainstream. I'd say my biggest inspirations in terms of performing are Freddie Mercury and Ronnie James Dio. You'll be able to tell which songs are written by me because they're shit! I'm not much good at writing, but I'm great at partying like I'm Paris Hilton. When I'm not doing band stuff, you can find me shopping, watching/reading/playing anything DC comics related or just sorta... Staring into space. I don't do much, but I'm still your fave member fer sure! Thanks for visiting The Freakhouse! We hope you enjoy your stay!

I've been producing music for about a year now so if the synths crunching, just know it was me, tapping away and not understanding what the equalizer does. I'm bringing you Dead Girl Couture 25/8, 366. Don't mind all the Sanrio merch around the Freakhouse, I started a cult for Hello Kitty! I mean church. You should definitely join us 😁

aside from the shizuka problem, is there any other issues you have with doraemon?
I do in fact, I think I have plenty of complaints. Comes with the territory of deeply caring about this series for years, I suppose.
Since I was talking about Gian in a previous ask, I'll actually go over a problem I have regarding him under the cut:
I don't have a lot to say on this issue, this is more just me taking the chance to complain about something that bugs me about this series at times.
It's the colorism.
I feel the series already kind of toes the line by having the only dark skinned character be a brute, an idiot depending on the episode. Of course, you can consider that Suneo is also an antagonistic force to balance this out, but Suneo is more-so meant to be a sort of backstabbing or 'conniving' type of antagonist. it doesn't really fix the problem.
In case anyone mistakes my words, I'm not saying we gotta riot over this- it's not the worst thing ever it's just unfortunate. Connotations and all that.
My actual issue is more so that, his own sister is lighter skinned and is perceived as nicer. It's in that whenever they do the 'Handsome Gian' bit they lighten his skin and downsize his nose.
Tumblr media
Notably, but barely notably they somehow make Suneo even lighter toned too.
The problem ultimately accumulates in that gag as well, that light skin and a smaller nose is more desirable, implying these other traits are ugly or unfortunate. I'm sure there's no need to spell out that the implications are unsavory.
Obviously Doraemon is not the only anime that does this, and it likely won't be the last. It's just something worth acknowledging.

Green Giant Legend vs Moon Exploration
Something I thought about after watching Green Giant Legend a few months back really struck me, in that Moon Exploration feels very similar to it in a different flavor of sci-fi.
Of course, I think we all know by now Doraemon movies usually have a consistent thing they have going on in them. Like Suneo freaking out about life ending danger, common thread between most of the movies.
However, it feels like Moon Exploration follows the same beats as Green Giant Legend in terms of overall plot.
I wish I wrote this months earlier, because I feel my more detailed thoughts have vanished as I haven’t even watched Moon Exploration since last year. Maybe one day I can update this to be more precise.
KIBO AND LUCA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two central new characters in their respective movies, difference being is that Kibo is an actually cute mascot type fitting for the feel of it and Luka is a boy pulled from an entirely different anime movie with rabbit ears slapped on top.
Luka has an angsty vibe about him, the mysterious new kid energy- he wishes he was Riruru essentially. Kibo is a cute little tree with energy that reminds you of a little sibling, and he remains as one of the few mascot type characters in a Doraemon movie I like. Right up there with Piisuke and Fuuko, in my book.
The only similarity they truly share is that they are both essentially fuel for weapons, granted Luca shares this trait amongst all the Espal. Point being, they both befriend Nobita and have to be saved in the end from being used to destroy the Earth.
Also, while there is no equivalent to Princess Rire in Moon Exploration, it’s at least notable to say her and Luka both serve to be a leader for their people.
A CRUSH FOR SUNEO
I think this is what made me come to think about the similarities in the first place. In that both films decided that he should have some form of romantic interest, and that said interest honestly could not be in the film and it’d be no different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However Mai and Suneo I thought were quaint, in the sense the plot knew she isn’t part of the grand scope of it. This movie carries a lot of small character moments that don’t add much to the plot, but are great in showing characterization and just being sweet. Mai may not matter overall, but all these small moments add an extra touch to the film that makes it charming.
When it comes to Luna, she is set up to be important to the plot just as Luca is, being his sister. Instead she’s sidelined just as Shizuka is, but remains a film constant. The crush, just like her, feels like it’s kind of just there to be there? Unlike with Green Giant Legend, the small bits of character flavor that do exist don’t feel all that charming. They serve it’s purpose, but it feels very baseline.
That, and when it comes to Mai I feel like I won’t be uncomfortable if she even looks at Suneo wrong. Luna is a thousand and if we aren’t counting that, fifteen years old.
At least the consistent thing is that Suneo likes girls with colored hair? That’s my takeaway.
THE PLOT
It’s about adventures in space, as many Doraemon movies come to be at times. Nobita want to help the Espal, and Nobita wants to help Kibo. Kibo and the Espal are both something far greater than they even want to be. The main crew has to save the earth from a type of world ending destruction powered by the new friends they made, and they all get a sort of match amongst the new characters. Except Shizuka, at least in Moon Exploration she gets the rabbit people Nobita made. I guess?
While I feel like Green Giant Legend has something to say about nature, life and environmental safety... I guess the lesson for Moon Exploration would be don’t use super powered rabbit children as fuel for your weapon? On a less joking note, I’d suppose it’s about appreciating and respecting life as at the end the Espal give up their immortality. I don’t think it really connects to the rest of the movie, or says anything new.
All this being said, I still enjoyed watching Moon Exploration but it really did strike me how it was a much less charming version of Green Giant Legend. You can still watch both and still be entertained, it’s just about how the core of it feels the same but it’s surface doesn’t.

Chapter 2: You should head back
Tumblr media
Wally Darling / GN Reader Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8
Rating: M
Summary:
The city is full of people. Then why did it feel so lonely? Memories of clinking bottles and dazzling neon lights flickered through your mind. Misty, car filled streets with humans, but no humanity. A bridge and a phonebooth. And a sweet voice that wanted you to come home. You’ve wandered too far, and you don’t know how to get back. But don’t worry! You’ve made some friends from a colourful town that can help you!

Tumblr media
A low buzz of static hummed throughout your living room.
You were alone again.
It wasn’t new to be alone.
Your mom worked multiple shifts, and your teenage sister was often out late.
Your dad had been out of the picture for a long time.
You sat on the verdant shag rug as you leafed through the spines of old VHS tapes on your entertainment centre. Tempting titles such as Pokemon or Doraemon called for you to pick them, but there was one that you always meandered back to.
There was a worn, yellow plastic tape, the sticker long faded from years of use.
Welcome Home.
Your mom picked it out at a second-hand shoppe - probably to get you off her back while she shopped for other things.
It quickly became one of your favourite shows.
It felt like a nice little respite from the world. A home away from home.
You also loved the fact that the artist segment changes every time you watch it!
It must be a new feature for VCR players, because none of your other tapes did that!
You popped the VHS into the player, the gears winding the tape.
The rainbow show lit up the room, like a beacon of life in this dreary existence.
The opening title of the show rolled. You hummed to it as you got comfortable on the floor, your tiny legs kicking in the air as you lay on your stomach.
The segment started, the main character behind an easel peaking out, paintbrush in hand.
“Hello, neighbour!”
----
Your heavy eyelids blinked as consciousness pulled you out of your deep slumber. You sucked in a deep breath of air as you stretched your sore limbs.
What a day, yesterday.
You rolled to your side as the reality of waking up connected in your brain. You tiredly stared at the rows of storeroom shelves, internally cursing yourself.
Guess it was all real.
You fumbled out of your blanket cocoon and wobbled your way to the door. You were greeted with the same towering, multi-limbed creature from yesterday. There was something comforting about him today, though. He felt more realistic. Kind.
He was stocking his shelves dutifully before looking up to you. He held in a chuckle. “Good morning! You look like you slept well.”
You gave him a groggy ‘huh?’
He responded simply by pointing at your hair.
Your hand went up to touch the literal bird’s nest that sat on your scalp. You hurriedly ran your fingers through the locks, flattening out whatever imperfections. An embarrassed blush crossed your features.
He chuckled once again. “If you want, you can use the shower. I can find you a fresh pair of clothes.”
“You sell clothes?” Your sleepy voice cracked in surprise.
“More like I special order clothes for Julie. The only thing is that silly little girl always forgets to pick up her orders.”
You rubbed the sleep from your eyes. “Wouldn’t she be mad if you looked through her orders?”
He gave a dismissive wave of a hand as he moved his way to a few boxes behind the front counter. “If I told her that it was for you, she’d probably assume it was for ‘dress up party’ purposes. So I don’t think she’d mind.”
You tried not to think about the ethical and legal implications of going through your customer’s stuff. Arguing probably wouldn’t help you in this case.
He pulled out a pair of high waisted flare jeans and a muted rainbow top. He offered them with one set of hands, while the others went to seal the boxes back up.
Dang, multitasking to the extreme.
You gratefully accepted the clothes. “You sure this is okay…?”
He gave you a caring smile, dismissing your concern, “Go get washed up.”
You bowed your head in thanks, padding your way to the bathroom.
**
A shower will help you feel human again in this insane puppet world.
Turning on the faucet, hot steam clouded the tiny washroom. Dipping into the warm waters, you felt your woes and worries wash down the drain.
Your mind wandered to Howdy. He sure helped you a lot. His generosity knows no bounds. Maybe you should help him in some way? Maybe pay back your debt by cleaning up the bodega a bit?
Yeah, that sounds good. It must be hard being the only worker.
You stepped out of the shower, wrapping a spare towel around your body. You swiped a hand across the clouded mirror, giving a good look at yourself.
That husk of a human from last night looked more alive. Colour was back in your face, and the fine lines around your eyes seemed to have lightened.
Those retinol treatments you were doing probably helped a lot with your complexion.
Despite everything, you’re still you!
Tossing on the retro styled clothes, you embarked on the new day.
**
”What can I do to help?”
“Really, you don’t need to do anything.”
You released a stubborn sigh, arms folding across your chest. You stared at the bug man from across the counter. “I really want to help you, Howdy. I want to help pay off my debt.”
The salesman weighed the options. He gave a resigned sigh. “Alright, but you have to follow the price guides of the bodega!”
You quirked a brow. “Price guides?”
He gestured to the ‘100% off!’ sign on the window pane.
Your brows furrowed as you scoffed. “How does that even work?”
“Well, people pay in jokes, ideas, or observations!” He then pointed to an apple display adjacent to the front counter. A sign on it read ‘1 Apple for 1 Joke’.
There’s no way these silly Muppets live in capitalism-free town. “How does commerce even work, then? How do you pay for goods being imported to your shop?”
Howdy put a finger up to his lips as he smirked. “Trade secrets! Maybe you’ll find out some day, young Grasshopper!”
You released a defeated huff.
“Besides, there’s more to life then pointless currency. Sometimes the most valuable things are your friend’s company and wise words!”
They really did live in a commune. In a sense, you envied them.
The morning tolled on, and he instructed little things on how he ran the bodega. You helped by stocking some shelves and sweeping the floors. Before you knew it, it was midday.
The door chimed as a pair of customers sauntered in. Your breath hitched as you saw a 7 foot, bumbling blue dog plod through the doorway. You were tempted to hide behind a shelf,… that is, until your eyes landed on the shorter man walking behind him.
A smile stretched across your face, “Hello, Wally!”
The cardigan-clad puppet gave you an all-encompassing grin, “Hello, neighbour!”
“Oh, is this the kid you were talking about?” the dog rumbled in a deep baritone.
Your skin prickled at the term ‘kid.’ You were quite obviously not a kid.
Wally regarded the towering puppet with a nod. The giant mock Blue’s Clues character offered a wave, “Welcome to Home! The next Big City this side of the forest! I’m Barnaby, by the way.”
You assuaged the temporary anger and introduced yourself with a little wave. Howdy, who was behind the front counter, called out to the new patrons. “What can I get for you fellas?”
Barnaby put up two fingers, “Two hot dogs, please!”
“Two dogs wrapped in yellow and red bow ties, with all the fixin's, comin’ right up!” The caterpillar’s limbs went to work as he swiveled around to the hot dog machine. He loaded the dogs up with whipped cream, onions, ketchup, mustard, and a cherry.
Imagining the taste made you shiver.
He offered the food to the pair, while another set of hands punched in the order on the cash register. “And how will you be paying today?”
Barnaby gave a smug smile. “Why did the baby cookie cry?”
A pause.
“Its mother was a wafer so long.”
Howdy erupted in a boisterous laugh, one of his hands going down to slap his knee. Even you smirked at the atrocious dad joke. He rubbed a tear away from his eye as he regarded Wally. “And how about you?”
Wally gave his signature hum as he rolled his head to the side. “What do you call an insect who can’t get out of bed?”
You peered at him expectantly.
“A bedbug!”
Howdy offered a sympathetic chuckle, the joke not landing as hard as Barnaby’s. He punched the jokes on the register, the receipt screeching out as it was printed.
“You tried, fella,” Barnaby put a big paw on Wally’s shoulder.
“Can’t top the town jokester, after all,” the smaller puppet winked up at his friend and they both chuckled.
With hot dogs in hand, they started to make their way out. As Barnaby ducked out of of the tiny doorframe, Wally stood in place for a moment.
It felt like minutes pass until he finally regards you. “Would you like to come with us? We can introduce you to the rest of the neighbours.”
You bit the inside of your cheek as you considered. You still felt guilty about not paying back all of what Howdy has done for you.
“Go meet everyone, Grasshopper,” the voice next to you pulled you out of your thoughts, the new nickname cooling any form of anxiety that you harnessed. “You can’t figure out how to get out of here without friends, right?”
You offered Howdy a kind smile. “Thanks.”
He shooed you off with your new friend, allowing you to step free into the rainbow world of Home.
Wally and you caught up to Barnaby, who was happily snacking on his treat.
**
The three of you trekked throughout the colour radiant town, making pit stops in front of each of the townsfolk’s homes.
The first person you all ran into was the mailman, Eddie. He curtly greeted himself, but just as quickly excused himself to get back to work.
You watched him run off into the distance before regarding your friends. “You reckon he’d know the roads out of here?”
Wally tilted his head as he observed you, still just casually holding his hot dog. “I think his route takes him further from the City.”
You gave a sad, thoughtful hum before Wally and Barnaby, the persuasive of friends, convinced you to meet with every one of the neighbours.
Poppy, who lived in a barn, was elated to see you again. She gave praises and crooned over how you were a ‘poor lost duckling.’ She vowed to cook for you if you ever needed food for the trip.
The next new person was a literal star who lived in a theatre. Sally was an eccentric puppet who was working on a set for an upcoming play. When you spoke to her about your story, you can tell she was taking internal notes. Please, Sally, don’t make your lost voyage into a Shakespearean tragedy.
Julie was as excited as ever to see you again. She complimented your outfit, stating that it looks ‘oddly familiar.’ Hm. You wonder why. She offered if you needed anymore clothes, she’s always willing to play dress up.
Frank was out in his lawn, taking notes on a butterfly perched on a flower. You all decided not to bother him. Butterfly watching seemed stressful, as is.
Now you all stood in front of Barnaby’s doghouse. He was hungrily staring at Wally’s hot dog, who, to your humour, was carrying the snack around like it was a show and tell specimen.
“You going to finish that, buddy?” Barnaby rumbled.
Wally shook his head and offered the undisturbed snack to his friend. The dog practically wolfed the food down in a blink.
The yellow puppet clapped his hands to get the remaining crumbs off his palms while Barnaby wiped the remnants on his own forearm.
“I think this is a wonderful day to sun bathe,” Barnaby started before dipping into his yard. “You guys comin’?”
Wally hummed at the offer before shaking his head politely, “I still need to show them Home.”
Barnaby gave a carefree shrug, “Suit yourself. Y’know where to find me.” With that, he sauntered into his littered yard and found a nice batch of grass to plop down on.
You regarded Wally with a quirked brow, “’Home’? Isn’t that just the town name?”
He tutted with a tiny smirk, “Silly, silly.” He didn’t explain, instead marched up the hill to the centre of town. A red house sat on the crest, it’s windows watching you.
Wait… watching?
You stumbled back as you stifled a yelp, the giant windows blinking at your reaction. You tried to scramble behind the short puppet man.
He simply shook his head with a chuckle. He gestures to the sentient house, “This is Home! This is where I live!”
Home made some thumping noises in greeting.
You sucked in a breath as you watched in horror. Your hand came up to grasp your forehead. “Okay, I finally accepted puppets. Houses now? I must be dead. There’s no way this is real.”
“If you’re dead,” Wally looked back at you with sleepy eyes, voice nonchalant, “then this must be heaven!”
You swallowed thickly, not sure how to process his words. You sucked in another big breath to calm your trembling body and forced a weak wave at Home.
Home waved its shutters in greeting.
Well… it’s not trying to eat you like Monster House. Maybe it really isn’t that bad?
Wally broke his barrier between you and Home, making you feel exposed and vulnerable. He maneuvered his way to an easel that sat just outside his home. He placidly began to pack up the art supplies that was left outside. A half painted picture of an apple lay on the canvas, probably abandoned this morning as he opted to hang with Barnaby.
The tension you held in your shoulders ease as you watch his easygoing pace.
There really is a charm about him that can ease your worries.
He briefly glanced back to catch you staring, a soft smile gracing his plush lips. “Penny for your thoughts?”
A blush shot to your face as you looked away, embarrassed. Your heart hammered as you focused on anything but him. You cleared your throat as a thought began tumbling out, “It’s nice here, but I’m wondering if… maybe you have any suggestions on how to leave?”
Wally noticeably tenses. He was quiet for a few beats, his lazy eyes never leaving yours. “I suppose I can paint you a map! But…”
He paused, his expression softening, tone becoming more sympathetic. “It must have been pretty serious for you to get lost like you did. Do you really want to go back? You wouldn’t be a burden here in Home! You’re always welcome.”
It felt like time stood still as his words washed over you.
There was a heaviness to it all, something akin to scratching at a mental scab. A truth that you didn’t want to uncover the band aid of.
You stood in silence as you mulled over the implications.
He watched you as your thoughts clouded your features. He observed the storm in your brain get cloudier before deciding to intervene. He extended a hand out to caress your arm, the felt touch anchoring you back to reality. His voice was low and pleasant, “Take your time. It’s a big decision, and there’s no need to rush. I’ll be here for you if you need it.”
The pressure from your jaw released, the tension that built up now toppled like building blocks.
He really was a good person.
“Thank you, Wally.”
He only offered a cute feline-like smile. **
It wasn’t long before the sky became a vibrant array of pinks and blues. The sun was settling just over the horizon as you and Wally decided to part from each other.
You made your way back to Howdy’s Place, giving the caterpillar a quiet greeting. He was starting to close up shop, and you decided to help him - much to his dismay.
With the two of you, the shop was closed and cleaned in record time.
He wiped the sweat off his brow, his face bearing a proud smile. “You really help a lot, young grasshopper.”
You shrugged. “It’s the least I can do.”
He shook his head with a chuckle. “You should eat some food. I think I have a spare salad in the back.”
You blinked at the thought of eating. Come to think of it, you didn’t feel hungry at all today.
How strange.
You decided to chock it up to stress from a new environment.
You thanked him for his generosity before wishing him a good night. You dipped into the backroom to locate the fresh greens. Chomping on the leaves, your mind wandered to the day.
The day felt… nice. Almost surreal.
You almost felt like you belonged.
But… you really should head home.
… Right … ?

hi! i’m not sure if you’ve answered this before but what books or shows would you recommend in order to learn catalan ?
Hi!
It depends on what your level is. Since you're writing to me in English, I assume you're at a beginner level, but I understand you're asking about novels and TV shows made for people who already speak Catalan so you can practise, right? Not grammar books to learn Catalan.
(If you're asking about language learning books, I have posted links to grammar books and online courses to learn Catalan here.)
For a very beginners level I'd recommend to watch/read children's media, because it will have easier vocabulary and the storylines will be easier to follow.
Catalan children's TV shows:
Les tres bessones: cartoon about three twin sisters who misbehave, and when they do a witch punishes them by sending them to a different fairytale or story. Every episode is a different tale, so they meet people from literature, history, legends, etc.
Rovelló: cartoon about the life and adventures of a dog who lives in a masia (Catalan farmhouse). Based on a famous children's book.
Una mà de contes: stories explained for younger children with support of crafts and manual art.
Teo: a cartoon for little children about a kid learning to do different things. Obviously very simple and for little kids, but should have easy language. Also based on famous children's books.
Two notes on the links above. First, you can activate subtitles in Catalan. The subtitles are not available in any other language, so if you need subtitles in English or another language I don't know where to find them, sorry.
Second, the website gives you the episodes from newer to older. For Una mà de contes the order doesn't matter at all, but it's better to watch Rovelló in order starting from the beginning, so you'll need to scroll to the last video and start from there.
You can also watch dubbed media. We have many animes dubbed to Catalan for the children's TV channel. For example, InuYasha, Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Detective Conan, Doraemon, Hattori the Ninja, Porco Rosso, Ranma 1/2, Evangelion, Lady Oscar, Sailor Moon, Sakura Card Hunter, The Magical Doremi, Utena, Shin Chan, Cowboy Bebop, Slam Dunk, One Piece, Rantaro, Bleach, Death Note, and many more. Anime films like My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Butterflies, Nausicaä, Kiki's Delivery Service, Haru in the Cats Kingdom / The Cat Returns, Howl's Moving Castle, the Doraemon films, and many more. You can download them from the website Anime Lliure.
And other cartoons like Totally Spies, Code Lyoko, Lucky Luke, Princess Shéhérazade, Massagran's Adventures, Maia the Bee, Tintin, Inspector Gadget, The Smurfs, 10+2, etc.
There's lots of books for children and you can buy them on the internet even if you live outside of the Catalan Countries. A famous classic one is El zoo d'en Pitus by Sebastià Sorribas, from the year 1966. Here you have a link with recommendations for more modern ones.
I have posted more advanced TV shows recommendations (with links to the official TV3 website to watch them legally for free) here.

Doraemon Vol. 1 from The Complete Works of Fujiko F. Fujio
Planning to go through the complete collection of Doraemon manga, so I’ll drop some of my impressions here. These won’t be reviews per se, more haphazard musings and observations.
Tumblr media
Although the Doraemon manga has been compiled into multiple print series, The Complete Works of Fujiko F. Fujio is the only one that reprints all of the original stories. The series is organized in an unusual way, intended to replicate the experience of an elementary school student reading the magazines that the manga was originally published in. For example, a Japanese student who started elementary school in 1969 would have read the Shogaku Ichinensei magazine for first graders during that year, then gone on to Shogaku Ninensei for second graders in 1970, and so on. The Doraemon stories in volumes 1–17 of this series are arranged in the sequence that students who began going to school in a particular year would have read them in. Volumes 18–20 compile additional stories that were printed in magazines other than the grade-based titles published by Shogakukan. As a result, the series does not follow a strict chronological order, with stories released during the same year scattered across multiple volumes. Nonetheless, the stories collected in volume 1 are some of the oldest in the Doraemon series, having been originally published between 1969–1974.
What strikes me about early Doraemon stories is that the Doraemon–Nobita dynamic is very different from later depictions in the franchise. Early manga Doraemon is actually something of a bad influence—most notably, when Nobita finds out that his future spouse will be Gian’s sister Jaiko, who he doesn't like, one story has Doraemon encouraging him to insult and hit her so she'll end up disliking him! Meanwhile, Nobita comes across as slightly more virtuous than he usually does later on (as here he often doubts Doraemon's bad advice). It's something of a role reversal from their more familiar interactions.
Doraemon is also much more clueless in early stories. Later Doraemon can be careless and insensitive at times, but early stories play up the “robot from the future doesn't know how things work” angle a lot more. For example, one chapter has Doraemon demanding that an electronics store put Nobita on television, not knowing how television programs are actually made.
Nobita’s relationship with his parents is quite different, too. It's implied that Nobita's misfortunes partly result from being coddled by his parents, which is certainly not the case later on.
Time travel has been a major theme of the series from the beginning, and this volume contains many time travel stories with numerous variations (including the classic storyline of “protagonists traveling back in time to catch a wrongdoer only to find out that they're the ones responsible”).
There aren’t many stories focused on Nobita’s friends, but several chapters have the familiar group of four hanging out and their general roles are established early on: Suneo as a braggart who induces envy in the others, Gian as a bully who picks on the others, and Shizuka... doesn’t get much characterization, but is clearly intended to be Nobita’s love interest. The running gag of Gian forcing everyone else to attend his apparently awful singing recitals is introduced.
Some of the most iconic Doraemon stories in this volume (as determined by my personal experience and biases):
“未来の国からはるばると” (“All the Way from the Future”, 1970): The introductory story where Doraemon arrives from the future and Nobita meets him for the first time. (There are actually six different versions of this narrative, of which three are collected in this volume, but this is the most famous one.)
“おばあちゃんのおもいで” (“Memories of Grandma”, 1970): Nobita travels in back in time to see his grandmother, who passed away when he was in kindergarten. (This story bears the distinction of having had more anime adaptations than any other Doraemon chapter.)
“かげがり” (“Shadow Catching”, 1971): Nobita separates his shadow from himself so it can run errands for him, but the shadow gains sentience and threatens to take his place.
“ロボ子が愛してる” (“Roboko’s Love”, 1971): Doraemon brings Nobita a robot girlfriend who is programmed to love him unconditionally, but she gets jealous easily and has superhuman strength, so things don't end well...
“プロポーズ作戦” (“Operation Proposal”, 1971): Nobita’s parents can’t agree on the circumstances of how they got together, so Doraemon and Nobita travel back in time to see what really happened.

hallo hallo! so excited to be here, it's been 6 years since i've rped on tumblr... happy to be back :D
quick rundown of kiyong/axel:
competitive skater, part of the south korean national team, an active olympian. used to train overseas but decided to return to korea as he approaches his 20s
why? well, one is bc of financial costs. he can't keep making his parents fund his career when his younger sister is a budding volleyball player recently accepted in to the national setup (if anyone wants to play the sister, hmu)
another is bc he's been influenced by the hallyu wave, esp netflix (hahaha). who says olympians don't follow pop culture?
he didn't have a normal upbringing, having had to skip school a lot and spend majority of his time training
so now he wants to try living a normal life (as if he can)
but oho, at kyungwon he's able to try new sports and somehow he's keen on ice hockey (which he tried when he was younger) ... to the displeasure of his coach :p
a huge part of him is conflicted on whether he wants to continue skating - he did participate in the 2022 beijing winter olympics but didn't medal. the old chronic injuries keep coming back (and are starting to stack ..) but he still has more jumps and techniques to perfect
the older he gets, the more he hates the sinister part of the sport he loves - his athlete friends being caught doping (unwillingly), the high profile ones turning to gambling and drugs as methods to destress, and how his success in the sport has caused the korea skating union management to use him for internal political warfare
he just wants to be a normal 20 year old worrying about normal stuff, not corruption and exploitation of underaged athletes
random facts
he loves to snack and has only been able to get away with his snack breaks when he started to podium at the senior level competitions. bless his high metabolism or else he'd be crucified for eating so much chocolate bars in between trainings. you can consider him as the doraemon of snacks (ask and you shall receive)
he is super lame (as in he loves deadpan humour, puns, memes and pop culture). very gen z. makes his coach suffer through a generation gap identity crisis every 2 business days
despite his lame personality, he has a very cold ~ aura ~ so he's been called ice prince many times and comes off as unapproachable
undecided major bc he's soul searching
his family started off as lower middle income when he was born, but as he progressed in his skating career, his family gradually became okay financially. however he still worries about his parents' retirement funds + sister's volleyball training costs and has been secretly putting aside money for them
kiyong likes to go by his korean name off the rink but insists on being called axel when discussing his ice skating endeavours. it's a separation of personal vs professional lives thing. no promises that he won't throw his ice boots at you if a lame axel pun is made
oh, his parents gave him the middle name of axel bc his father got tear eyed watching a beautiful double axel jump when his mother was pregnant with kiyong :p
he has yet to do his military service, and is strategising to win gold at the asian winter games before he retires so he can go for the reduced military service option instead
very particular with money management - he's learned to budget since he was 7 years old so you can spot him at flea markets trying his best to out-haggle other ahjummas for bargain deals
likes to thrift clothes and into environmental activism (bc winter sports will die out if the planet continues to get hotter)
i'm still setting up his bio page up but can always hit me up in the DMs to plot! am open for anything :D
