ETA: As many direct messages are pointing out, this sarcastic reply is just that sarcasm...

The man's question is actually a sign of jealousy and "possessiveness". This is a huge indicator that a manis more likely to use physical violence like murder of their partner (Not necessarily their rival, although that isn't unlikely.)

However, I posted it because I want to validate the experiences of those who know what being on the receiving end of obsession is like.

This reply is sarcasm, yes.

My posting it was to let those who have experienced this type of abuse realize you are NOT alone.

It is delusional AF to want someone to not have someone else,

And while it is not a diagnosed illness of the mind, it is a greedy (and seemingly insane/sheer delulu 🤪) way to go through life.

And for those of who have experienced this unwelcome attention, it's scary.

Victims of this behavior (and quite a few of us women can and do unfortunately know what its like to go through someones weird entitled obsession) are often gaslit, stalked, smear campaigned, manipulated - even when we, the victim, have long moved on, or even worse, never shown even the slightest deeper interest.

So while we don't want to ever try to excuse abuse as solely a "mental illness"...it does seem like sheer crazy terror if one ever experiences this selfish behavior and has not before.

Yes, it is NOT caused by addictions and mental illness. These only complicate abuse, but they don't cause abuse.

Bottomline - it's a meme. And from a victims perspective, it seems crazy to NOT want someone but ALSO not want anyone else to have them. It may not be a documented crazy but there is a grain of truth in that it feels like the crazymaking behavior that's born of narcissistic abuse, even of its obssesive possession/jealousy.

It's a meme with humor to show how victims feel when subjected to this disturbing type of behavior of possessiveness and jealousy from a man who isn't their partner.

Listening to @onyx-and-elm reading her Don’t Look Back & was once again struck by this Chp 4 scene:

~~”She doesn’t feel normal in this moment. She feels — strange. Sort of lulled, as though by a draught, and the longer she stares back into his eyes, the more lax her muscles feel. The sharp angle of her hand fades, fingers curling inward. She doesn’t blink as she moves her palm slowly towards her face.

“How much of it do you feel?” she asks in a quiet voice. Nearly a whisper. Her fingertips spread across her own cheek — just the faintest caress. “Only the pain?”

Malfoy’s chest stops heaving, panting breaths cutting off abruptly.

She moves as though drugged, sliding her palm down the side of her jaw. “Only intense sensations?”

He twitches. A movement so slight, she would’ve missed it without her eyes locked on him the way they are. Would’ve missed the barely-there flutter of his eyelashes. An instantaneous urge to close his eyes that he seems to fight back against with every molecule.

She releases a shuddering breath at the sight of it, forefinger starting a path upward from her chin towards her lips. “Or do you—”

His reflexes are startling.

In a movement so quick it’s a blur, his hand darts out and shackles her wrist, yanking hers away from her face. Holding it there, about an inch between them both, and giving it a shake.

“Don’t fuck around,” he whispers. At least, on the surface it’s a whisper. When combined with the look on his face — lethal, feral — it’s a great deal more like a threat. “This isn’t funny.”

That’s her question answered.

But it’s difficult to focus with his fist wrapped around her wrist. As of yet, she hasn’t felt anything she couldn’t attribute to her own self. Hasn’t experienced any sensation that might’ve been in any way not her own. In any way his.

Now, though, with that bruising grip growing warmer and heavier by the second, she swears she feels the faintest twinge of…something. The very slightest sense of holding something small and breakable in her own fist.”~~
