my writer toxic trait is that i absolutely hate making character profiles. they feel like a waste of my time. my characters are in my brain why must i inform myself that this character is 23.

obviously i know why its important (for consistency's sake) but i find the process of making them very tedious and inevitably this means i never have an easy way to present my characters to my friends other than infodumping whatever is currently in my brain, which is not a very effective way of doing things. i am also very forgetful and sifting through old writing to figure out key details is not ideal. why must i be like this

I put it over my face and put my face up under the running shower and then I drowned ;D

I think one of my biggest shortcomings as a writer is that I really do want to just make unhinged things and put them in otherwise interesting stories.

As an example, I will have an outline in the works and one day I'll have the random thought "skin cow... A cow that makes skin instead of milk. So you pull the udder and skin comes out..." And my immediate next step after creating that (perhaps one of the 50 worst things I've ever thought of) is "okay, I've thought of the skin cow. How do I fit it into this story? The cow needs to be in something, I need to share this cow with the world. Where can I put this skin cow?" And there's no place in the story for this disturbing, unhinged, one-off creation but I force it into the story anyway.

Thankfully the skin cow was something I thought of today and I am writing about it now so I don't have to put it in a story. But I still might. Like I said, this is a flaw of mine.
