My weird take that Gordon Clark is the only relatable character on HACF:
Donna is supreme success -- the final season is her reconciling that with what she actually wants out of life.
Cam is supreme talent -- her story is all about whether she is being wasted with the avenues she has been presented with.
Joe is supreme vision -- he's the only one you can say just gets it.
Gordon isn't any of those. He wanted to be and he tried to be but he ended up as the case for a life well lived being its own reward. To quote Cam, "he did a ton wrong."
