So, I'm reading a lot of posts about people complaining that it's not fair the Traveler is upset about Lyney and Lynette being part of the Fatui and everything. But I personally didn't read it entirely that way.

The Traveler learns about this in the middle of Lyney's trial. While they are acting as Lyney's defense. Regardless of any personal feelings about the twins or the Fatui, the Traveler should have been told beforehand because Lyney and Lynette being connected with the Fatui could potentially have lost them the trial!

You saw how people reacted when they learned this. When Furina brought it up, it turned nearly the entire audience against them! And the Traveler was completely caught off-guard! If Neuvillette hadn't let them have a recess to discuss things, we never would have been able to win the trial! The evidence that helped us prove Lyney innocent only came up because we learned they were Fatui! Yeah, the Traveler doesn't trust the twins, but they didn't trust the Traveler first.

This isn't about Childe and the Traveler's relationship. It isn't about the Traveler and their relationship with the Fatui. This is about how despite the Traveler stepping up and trusting that Lyney was innocent of murder, and not being trusted in return with a truth that could have ruined everything.

And it makes sense. The Traveler and the twins have known each other for what? A day or two at this point? I wouldn't go around announcing my tragic backstory to someone I've known for that long, would you? It was just a bad situation that had this come to the surface so quickly. So I can't blame the twins for not telling, or the Traveler for being angry. It's just human.
