Skeletal muscle fibers consist of two broad types: Type I (slow twitch) which relay on aerobic metabolism and appear red because of additional myoglobin, and Type II (fast-twitch) which relay more on glycolysis and are more prone to fatigue.
Medical school is a marathon not a sprint - use those type I fibers.
