Blood status seems to become less important when you acknowledge the actual feeling of love. What will Theo do when Y/n comes to the terms with the differences between them being impossible to ignore?
Pairing: Theo Nott x granger!reader
Words count: 1.9k
Author's note: My apologies for keeping you waiting so long, but I finally got some time off at uni!! Wishing you all a good year!!
Kind of a 2nd part of this fic, but you can read it without the previous one

Keep you safe
Tumblr media
One evening, Theo was waiting in the library. Waiting for a person he never expected to talk to. Y/n Granger. He found himself feeling a bit nervous, even though there was no reason.
Thinking about Y/n made him feel something. A feeling he never felt before. Slughorn said it's love, the muggle kind of love, the purest form, not induced by anything supernatural.
Theo decided to read about it. Hoping to find some book about it, he asked the librarian. She gave him a book specifically about love potions and spells. One of the first chapters was just what Theo was looking for.
"How to tell the difference between love and infatuation caused by magic." He whispered the first sentence to himself.
He started reading, his mind realizing what he got himself into as his gaze brushed over the text. Well, technically it wasn't his own fault and apparently also not the girl's fault.
But there must've been a reason. If love was a part of biology, brain chemistry, there had to be some logical factor.
"What are you reading?"
When Theo heard Y/n's voice right next to him, he immediately closed the book, causing it to make a loud sound.
"You took such a long time I got bored." He replied.
"Don't be so shy," the girl shifted her eyes to the title of the book, "oh, love potions and spells? But we're doing something completely different."
"Really? I couldn't care less, forgot what we were supposed to do." Surely one thing he'd love to do was making out with her on that table.
Y/n put her homework on the table.
"Read it and tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing is wrong, I just-"
"What's wrong with my text, Nott. I didn't ask how you were doing."
"Right."
Theo took the papers and started reading. The text was written with the most beautiful handwriting he's ever seen. So elegant, so precise.
"How long did it take you to write?" He asked.
"One evening. It was easier than you'd think."
"I think it's extremely easy." He bragged. "Anyway, is that all? Or do you wanna add something?"
"Well, Slughorn thought it's necessary for you to help me. Is there anything you think should be added?"
"Uh, no, it looks fine," he mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
"Fine? Theodore Nott, the perfectionist Slytherin, settles for 'fine'? I expected more from you."
"Look, it's not my homework, it's yours. I don't know why I agreed to help you, but it was pointless."
"You got yourself into this, could've said no."
"What the fuck am I even doing?" Theo asked rather himself than the girl. "I don't need to be helping a mudblood, who cares what grade you'll get." With these words, he stood up.
"Because-" Y/n stuttered. "Because... I've heard your conversation with Slughorn. And you said... that you liked me."
"Me? Liking you?" He snorted with laughter. "What the hell, Granger?"
Tears formed in Y/n's eyes as she watched Theo walk away. Sure, he was mean to her before, this wasn't the first time. But this time was somehow different.
Y/n could swear she heard Theo confessing to Slughorn that he's actually in love with her. It's not possible her brain played tricks on her. Plus Hermione said Theo told her about his feelings for Y/n.
≫ ──── ««•◦ ✪ ◦•»» ──── ≪
Harry walked onto the astronomy tower. Y/n was supposed to be back a long time ago. Ron and Hermione also wanted to go there, but Harry asked to let him go alone.
Harry knew where Y/n was thanks to the Map. He felt such relief not seeing Nott's name next to hers. She was standing alone, leaning on the banister. There was something in her hand, Harry couldn't see well in the dark, but from the smell he realized it was a cigarette.
"I didn't know you smoke." He spoke.
Y/n expected this to happen, she was aware of Harry's feelings towards her. She took one last drag from her cigarette then dropped it on the ground, put it out with her shoe and kicked off the tower.
"Why do you keep doing this?" Y/n asked, smoke leaving through her mouth. "I knew you're gonna look at your silly little map to see where I am."
"We were starting to get worried. Theo is... you know, dangerous. We got scared he would hurt you."
And he did. Theo did hurt Y/n, just not physically.
"Hermione should be here instead. But, let me guess, you told her you'll check up on me."
"Maybe," Harry admitted finally, "do you know why? Because I actually care about you. I've had feelings for you for years. I deserve you, not Nott. I deserve you, because-"
"Because you're the chosen one?" She mocked and paused. "Look, Harry, I like you as a friend. I've never felt anything more than this. I can't change how I see you and I won't pretend otherwise."
He nodded, acceptance settling in. "I get it. I just... I thought if I cared enough, it would make a difference."
"Caring is important, Harry, but it doesn't always lead to the feelings we hope for."
"Whoever you date, just don't date Nott, please."
"I promise I won't. Not after today, I'm over him."
"Care to share what happened?"
"I'll tell you, Hermione and Ron in the common room. Let's go, I've been here too long."
≫ ──── ««•◦ ✪ ◦•»» ──── ≪
Y/n didn't even know how wrong she was that night on the astronomy tower, but she forgot about it. Weeks went by, Christmas had passed, everyone were back from the break. Classes started again and Y/n found herself hoping to catch a glimpse of Theo.
They kept exchanging glances on the corridors, accidentally bumping into each other in the crowds. Y/n wanted to believe Theo liked her, but even if he did, they could never work.
"Y/n, listen to me," he said, catching her when she was alone in the library one time. "I know how things have been between us, but during the break I... I realized I don't wanna keep being enemies."
"Theo, you know it could never work. You said what you said and maybe it's better to leave it this way."
"I contemplated a lot," it was true, he spent the break mostly in his room, drowning in thoughts. About her, about them, coming to terms with what he was feeling. "I decided to accept my feelings."
"That's great for you, but we could never work. I've always 'fancied' you, I guess, despite what you were doing, ironically, but the time we worked on my project together, I accepted we could never work."
"And why's that?"
Y/n took a deep breath, wondering if he was stupid or just pretending. Maybe it was a bet he had with someone. Maybe Draco dared him to do this.
"You don't see how different we are? What do you expect is gonna happen? Would you introduce me to your father? Wouldn't you care that I'd get you disowned?"
Theo looked at her, Y/n could see sadness in his eyes. She realized her words made him realize the differences between them, because he walked away. Theo walked away without a word.
Y/n pierced her own heart with an invisible knife. She was really hoping they could work, but it just wasn't possible in this universe. Maybe there was a universe where none of this purity bullshit didn't exist. Y/n wished she would've been born there.
Y/n couldn't predict what Theo was going to do. She thought her words made him give up on her. It was for the best, of course, she should've focused on her studies firstly, and then on a realistic relationship.
It was a Friday. Y/n was sitting next to Ginny by the Gryffindor table. It was dinner time, all the students gathered in the Great Hall. All the students besides one Slytherin, the one that Y/n hoped to see. Maybe it was weird, but she enjoyed the sad looks they'd pass to each other.
"Hey, Y/n, are you listening?" Hermione asked from across the table.
"Sure," Y/n quickly shifted her eyes to her sister. "You were talking about Defence Against the Dark Arts."
"You've got divided attention. Stop looking at the Slytherin table."
"Ugh," Ginny groaned, "were you doing this again? Merlin, you stare at this Slytherin git 90% of the time."
"Well, he isn't here today. I wonder where he could be. Everyone else is here."
"There he is," Ron pointed out, rolling his eyes.
The golden trio and two younger Gryffindors looked at the doors' direction. Theo had just walked into the Great Hall, but surprisingly he didn't walk towards his table. He walked towards Y/n.
"Y/n," he spoke, catching everyone's attention. People were reading to witness another argument. "I can't help this, I love you."
Shocked noises came from all the tables, but Slytherins kept whispering between each other also when Theo continued talking.
"I don't care what anyone says, anyone thinks. Love is not meant to be controlled, it kills me to fight it."
Y/n stood up from the table, ready to leave the room.
"Theo, stop," she begged, "you're embarrassing us both. Your friends will-"
"I don't care what they do. If they don't accept it, they're not my friends. If anyone wants to fight me for having feelings for a muggleborn, I can fight, I've never lost a duel."
The whole Great Hall fell silent, even the teachers didn't try to intervene, when they saw Theo pulling out a small, black velvet box.
"I want you to wear this ring," he opened the box, "as my promise to always protect you from whoever tries to harm you or our relationship."
"It's beautiful, but..." Y/n was speechless by the sight of the ring. It was silver with two gemstones forming a subtle heart - half emerald and half ruby.
"It was custom made and if you accept it, I'll once get you a matching engagement ring. Also, there are thorns which will hurt you when you try taking it off. I want you forever, Y/n Granger."
The ring in the black velvet box sparkled under the enchanted ceiling. The Great Hall remained in silence as Theo poured his heart out, confessing his love. The unexpected turn of events had everyone on edge.
Slytherins exchanged intrigued glances, Gryffindors shared confused looks and even the teachers seemed to not know how to react. Y/n could feel the weight of everyone's eyes on her, and for a moment, she considered the potential consequences of accepting Theo's proposal.
"Theo," she began, her voice breaking, "it's not that simple."
"I know it is. But I can't keep hiding my feelings, Y/n. I've tried, and it's tearing me apart. I'll protect you from whatever comes our way."
Y/n looked at the ring, then back at him. "I believe in second chances. And I appreciate your sincerity. I accept the ring, Theo."
Theo carefully took the ring from the box and gently slid it onto Y/n's finger. The Great Hall burst with cheering and applause, only the Slytherin table didn't seem so enthusiastic about this.
Theo placed his hands on Y/n's waist, pulling her in for a kiss. She didn't hesitate to kiss him back, her hands sinking in his dense her yet the ring on her finger still visible, reflecting the light from the ceiling.

Written for @mppmaraudergirl and BlackEvans BFF Week! Day 4: Being Bros
Tumblr media
"Go on, Evans." Sirius Black muttered softly.
Lily slid her desk mate a disdainful scowl and ignored him.
"He cursed a fourth year," he continued. "The poor fellow was laid up in hospital for three days."
Lily waited until Professor McGonagall's back was turned before whispering, "If you want to get back at Mulciber so badly, why don't you do it yourself?"
"Because I know you want to."
Continuing on with her notetaking, she purposefully did not acknowledge this assertion.
"And because you cast that nappy rash jinx better than anyone I've ever seen."
The corners of Lily's mouth twitched but she kept her eyes on her parchment.
"C'mon..." Black crooned. "He'll think it was me anyway. What have you got to lose?"
"My badge?" Lily shot back.
The look he gave her was alarmingly earnest. "What's the point of being Prefect if you can't get away with something every now and again?"
Her gaze darted across the room to where Mulciber and Avery sat heads together and muttering in the back of the class. She was loath to admit that Black had a point. Ever since the start of term, those two had been especially brutal. It would feel so good to give into the vindictiveness coursing through her veins.
The longer she stared at the Slytherin boys, the more her resolve crumbled.
Silently, Lily slid her wand out of the inside pocket of her robes and laid it across her lap. Sirius' eyes returned lazily to the front, the picture of nonchalance, but a sharp smirk lingered at his mouth.
She turned the wand slowly in her hand, the incantation barely a quiver on her exhale, followed by a soft whoosh from beneath the desk.
Lily didn't watch to see if her jinx had landed. Instead, she returned her focus to her transfiguration notes and waited for the inevitable.
It didn't happen right away, just a slight rustle from the behind them. Then, after a few minutes, the rustling turned to fidgeting which turned to downright squirming.
Lily listened to the escalating discomfort while clenching her teeth to keep from giggling.
Next to her, Black's shoulders shook with silent laughter, until finally, there was the clatter of a chair and Professor McGonagall's steely stare whipped around to take in Mulciber hopping from foot to foot while violently scratching his jock.
"Fuck's sake, man," James Potter blurted from the table behind Lily and Sirius. "Have some dignity."
The entire sixth year class burst into sniggers and cackles.
"Mr. Mulciber!" McGonagall clipped sternly. "You will stop fapping about this instant or you will leave my class."
Mulciber's replying grunt could hardly be considered coherent, but he seemed to realize his situation was beyond help or explanation. He cast one last hate-filled expression toward James and Sirius and then rushed out the door with tears in his eyes.
Professor McGonagall attempted to call everyone's attention back to the front, and Lily had to cover her mouth with her hand to hide her snort.
Black nudged her elbow and muttered, "Nice one, Evans."
"You know," a low voice interjected from over her shoulder. Lily glanced around to see Potter leaning forward over his desk to look between them. "I'm not sure I like the two of you being friends."
"We're not friends," Lily hissed, but to her eternal mortification there was a fondness in her tone of voice.
Black raised a sardonic eyebrow. "Allies, then?"
Shaking her head, she bit the inside of her cheek to hold back a grin.
"Whatever you call it," Potter added quietly, "It's unsettling to see the two of you working together."
His expression looked anything but wary. He looked positively giddy. Lily's breath caught at the sparkle in his eyes, followed by the involuntary smile that seemed to take over her face anytime his attention was solely focused on her.
She internally chastised herself for her ridiculous response to his proximity and attempted to quash the feelings heating her middle.
"Don't get used to it."
"I'm not so sure, Prongs," whispered Black smugly. "She's had a taste of delinquency, now. I think she's one of us."
Potter's eyes widened in mock fear. "Absolutely terrifying."
"Potter!" McGonagall cut in harshly. "Sit. Down."
James shrank back into his chair and mumbled a quick, "Sorry, Professor."
McGonagall gave all three of them a pointed glare, then began her lecture again as if there hadn't been an interruption at all. Lily felt somewhat scolded by the expression, but the satisfied retribution settling into her bones far outweighed it.
Something else lingered in the space between her lungs as well.
Something like camaraderie.

Personal Sebastian Sallow Headcanons (pt. 1/?)
Tumblr media
◆ He's an October Scorpio - The characteristics line up so well and I really like the idea of him being one of the older students in his class ◆ Is the younger twin - Anne never lets him forget it. ◆ Sebastian's looks favor his father's - This plays a role in Solomon's hostility towards him. ◆ He’s Scottish and was born and raised either in New Towne Edinburgh or on the outskirts - Edinburgh in the 1800s was a foul place to live, at least in the city center, Old Towne. - I see his parents being drawn to Edinburgh. It has such a vast history and holds a lot of knowledge, but they knew they wanted to start a family and decided to settle down away from the city proper. - I don't see them having a grand mansion, more so a comfortable townhome ◆ His parents are published authors - The funds from this is what allowed them buy property in New Towne. - They left a modest inheritance to the twins that they will receive when they turn 17. ◆ After their deaths, Solomon sold the house and most of the items within to gather money to afford to care for two children. - Sebastian and Anne were able to stow away some of the parents' belongs, such as; their favorite books, jewelry, pocket watch, photo albums, and letters. ◆ His parents have portraits at Hogwarts - After the portrait versions of themselves learned of their real-life deaths, they asked to be stowed away when it came time for Sebastian and Anne to attend Hogwarts to avoid a possible unhealthy fixation on the paintings. (Imagine a scenario similar to when Harry found the Mirror of Erised and visited it every night to stare into it.) ◆ He's a virgin - Since I've given them an October birthday, the Sallow twins were 14 when Anne was cursed the summer before their 4th year. After she was cursed, the entirety of his focus and drive went into Anne and finding a cure. The only exceptions to this, pre-5th year, were his academic studies and his friendship with Ominis. - In his 3rd year, a 5th year girl took an interest in Sebastian and propositioned him to teach him the ways of physical pleasure. She was pretty, older, and he liked the attention. She thought he was cute and liked the idea of being the one in control. He was 14, she was 16. It never went past oral though. - Sebastian didn't like the idea of "ruining" (using era-accurate verbiage here) a girl because he would kill anyone who did that to Anne. - The 5th year girl played a role in giving him the confidence (charm, flirtation, etc.) we experience later. This led him to snogging other girls while in his 3rd year, but only those in years above him. He cringed at the thought of Anne hearing firsthand about his escapades from someone in their own year. - He had his first kiss at the age of 12 though. A traveling merchant's daughter who was the same age and visited Feldcroft for a few days before moving on to the next town. It was extremely awkward but also adorable. - Sebastian is canonically very well-read. That does not exclude literature on the topic of intercourse just because he's a virgin. He's read everything he's been able to find and has his own hidden copy of the Kama Sutra stashed away. ◆ He's naturally athletic - Working in the Feldcroft fields while growing up has kept him healthy and in-shape. Being an avid dueler has also helped. - He tried out for the Quidditch team his 2nd and 3rd years, but lost out to older students. He had planned to try again, but Anne's curse changed everything. ◆ He becomes a Beater for the Slytherin team his 6th year - You cannot tell me that this man doesn't become more broad and muscled as he grows. With shoulders and arms like that, his competitiveness/prowess, and his desire to impress Thea (MC), he becomes one of the best Beaters Hogwarts has ever seen.

Unpopular Marauders opinions
i'm bored so here are some opinions that i'm too scared to say on any other platform
Deciding that Pandora Lovegood had to be from a death eater family (Rosier, Malfoy, Lestrange) was the worst thing this fandom ever did to her character
The fannon characterisation of Marlene McKinnon gives me massive self inset pick me vibes and i hate every part of it (and i really mean every part of it)
This fandom isn't misogynistic y'all are just too demanding and expect the fandom to be the exact same as any other where we have a hardcore cannon source for every one of these characters and ships. we do not. we know more about Barty Crouch Jr then we do about Marlene McKinnon, Mary MacDonald and Dorcas Meadowes combined. it's unrealistic and stupid to expect everyone to care about the same characters and ships to the same capacity as you do when we are not watching/reading the same thing. (if any of that makes sense)
Barty Crouch Jr, Evan Rosier and pretty much every single other death eater were villains. it's okay to like them and want to expand on them but stop trying to make every bad guy secretly good
We cannot keep blaming Dumbledore for everything. Dumbledore had nothing to do with half of the deaths that you are accusing him of. blaming Dumbledore and headcannoning that he obliviated Mary and turned Regulus away and all that takes away from everyone else's characters, sacrifice and choices
The Marauders weren't child soldiers. They had a choice on if they wanted to join the Order or not and they chose to because they're Gryffindors and they're The Marauders and probably thought of themselves as some invisible hero's. They don't need to be seen as victims to Dumbledore for them to be tragic
There is a cannon and you cannot be mad at people for wanting to stick by it
Similarly Fannon Sirius is against cannon. Sirius is one of the primary adult characters in the Harry Potter series. He is literally the title character to the fan favourite book/film. We have so much information about how he acts and "oh Remus i'm your little bitch please let me sit on your lap because i'm only small" ISNT ONE OF THEM
Death to alpha male Remus. DEATH I SAY
This fandom is so obsessed with making every character tragic that the word has lost all meaning. It is possible for Mary to be happy yknow???
Someone in the fandom: "hey look at this cannon character who seems quite interesting" The rest of the fandom: "how can we make this character have some kind of relation to every other character that we already care about??" IM SO SICK OF IT!!! NOT EVERYONE HAS TO BE DATING EVERYONE
Stop trying to change the name of the Slytherin Skittles. Yes it's a stupid name but it's somehow stuck and you're not changing that. just let it be
I ship Remus with anyone who is not more then a year younger then him and i mean literally everyone. Give me Remus and Voldemort fanfic for all I care
I've already said this before but the prank is overrated
Leave my girl Emmeline alone. Why are y'all shipping her with Barty?? Why are you making her the other women to Marlily?? Why are you making her anything but a Ravenclaw?? Do you hate her?? She hasn't done anything to you😭😭 (no but seriously tho i get that headcannons are headcannons but Emmeline is my girl and i have been expanding on her character since 2019 when no one gave a rats arse about her so seeing her shipper with BARTY ruined my life)
That's all i can think of for now please don't hate me but if you wanna talk send me an ask or reply cause i love talking about this kind of stuff :)

Here is the link to my masterlist.
His First Thoughts When He Sees You
Harry: Gryffindor, halfblood, same year
That girl over there is staring at me. I wonder if she can tell that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing here. That would be super embarrassing if she can tell. She has an owl too. Maybe I should just ask her where I'm supposed to be going. She very pretty, but I don't even know how to start up a conversation with her. Now she's walking toward me. Is she really coming over to speak to me? Now she's talking and I'm just grinning like an idiot. Stop smiling Harry.
Ron: Ravenclaw, muggleborn, year above
Why is this girl yelling at me? I don't think I've ever met her before. I would remember if I met someone that looked like her. Did I do something wrong lately? I'm always doing something wrong so it wouldn't surprise me. Maybe she should stop yelling. I'm sure she would look a whole lot prettier if she just smiled. This is new. Girls like that don't usually talk to me even if it is yelling. Fred and George are going to lose their shit when they hear about this.
Draco: Slytherin, pure, year below
I remember my first time here when everything was so new. She looks like a first year. Her robes are a little too long and she has way too many books in that backpack of hers. She hasn't learned that we have more than enough time in between classes to go back and get some of our other things. She's going to trip on those robes if she doesn't get them shortened. I wonder if she's heard anything about me. I would really like for her to get a chance to know the real me. But first impressions are the ones that always last, right? Maybe I should do something nice then. Something like catch her before she falls face first onto this very hard floor.
George: Slytherin, halfblood, same year
Would it be weird if I followed her around the store? Would she think I was a stalker or something, because I'm not. But if she thought that, there wouldn't be much time for me to explain myself. There's too many people in here for her to notice me. Now I just need a reason to talk to her. Maybe I'll ask where something is so she can show it to me even though I already know where everything in this store is, but she doesn't have to know that, right?
Fred: Gryffindor, pureblood, 2 years below
I've seen her talking to Ron a couple of times, but I've never talked to her before. I've always wanted to, but I end up getting nervous. Wait, is she crying? She doesn't deserve to be crying. I want to make everything alright for her. Okay Fred you're going to walk over there and make sure everything is okay with her. Then you're going to start up a conversation with her and it's going to be fantastic.
Cedric: Hufflepuff, muggleborn, same year
Wow she looks really familiar, but I can't remember where I know her from. Maybe I've seen her around school, but that can't be true. What's the chances of that happening? I think her sister is the one that's talking to my sister. Maybe that can give me the opportunity to talk to her. She's beautiful and I already know I'm going to make a complete fool of myself. Just breathe Cedric, everything is going to be okay.

Angleyes
Sirius Black x Reader
Inspired by song "Angeleyes" by Abba
While recovering from a breakup, you look back at your time with Sirius Black, all while realizing an undeniable truth.
Warning: Mentions of Adult Activities, angst
The Greeks believed that the stars, galaxies, the constellations were created by the gods.
For reference, the placing of Callisto.
The beautiful, loyal, and favored hunter of Artimes. But it seems that loyalty only got you so far with the gods. She was soon turned into a bear by her goddess due to the birth of a child caused by an assult by Zeus. Years later, the same child would come upon her bear form and attempt to kill it. Zeus would see these events unfold and take "mercy" upon the two. He would place them in the sky so they would never be separated again.
Another, Andromeda. She was the fair wife to Perseus, the slayer of Medusa. Although their meet cute probably wasn't as romantic as she was hoping it would be. He found her chained to a rock by her own people as a sacrifice to Poseidon's monster. He would slay it, and they would soom have a whopping six children. Athena would later place her in the sky as a way for people to remember her for all of eternity.
The brightest in the sky though, at least in your eyes was Orion's dog, the Star of Sirius.
And a dog he was.
~~~~~~~
You'd spend the better half of 2 weeks moping in your bed. Although you would never say that aloud because then that would mean he won. It would mean that he had been able to wiggle his way into your heart like a parasite. It would mean that without his touch on your hand, your shoulder, your lips, your legs, you were lost. That you were had loved him.
So you blamed your absence on painful, the worst you-ever-experienced, period cramps. Although that could only work for so long, even if none of your peers didn't really believe it in the first place. So, it didn't take long for your scar covered friend to come barging in.
"You know, it's considered rude in most of the world to come in without a heads up," you grumbled, not having to look up to see who it was, the scent of chocolate reaching your nose, "What if I was naked?"
"Then what a site it would have been," Remus replied sarcastically, "It's time to get out of this room, love."
"See, I would love to Rem, but my cramps are just killing me," you grasp your stomach in mock pain.
"Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think menstrual periods, or at least yours, last twelve days."
You gasp, "then it must be menopause," you fall back onto your bed sinking into the warm sheets. "Oh, I should have seen the signs, the gray hair, the wrinkles... oh Rem! Do you think this spot is cancerous?" You both fall into laughter, and you realize this is the first time you smiled since the incident. Remus plops onto the space beside you with a smile still spread on his features, your shoulders touching.
There was a comfortable silence, hearing the laughter of students, stories down from your window. The window he once climed through after almost killing himself scaling the outside wall of the castle. You cleaned the material out of his hair and kissed his wounds better that night, your heart glowing that although a stupid action was directed so he could get to you. You shoke the memory from your brain, opting to turn the boy beside you.
"How do you even get in here?"
"I'll give you three guesses"
"Why didn't they just talk to me themselves?" you ask, thinking of your roommates/best friends
"Well, I don't know if you realize this, but you are quite argumentative... and a little bit scary. I'm surprised you weren't sorted into Slytherin."
"So you were thrown into the lion cage," he lets out a breathy chuckle.
"Well, I've been told I can be quite stubborn. I am the one who pulls the boys out of their beds." The smile slipped off your face, and you could feel the gaping pit in your stomach return. Remus immediately realized his mistake and felt his heart break a little at your dimming eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean t-,"
"No, you're okay, it's fine. I'm fine." You gave him a tight lip smile even though you both know he could look right through it.
There is another pregnant pause. You were happy that Remus came to check up on you. Though friends before, you cheating off his work and him being graced by your impeccable charm, he was one of Sirius's closest mates. And you wouldn't have been surprised if he stopped talking to you. You couldn't say that wouldn't have stun, though.
"I just really don't want to see him. I don't know what I'll do if I do."
"It'll be okay," he said, bringing you closer to his chest, "it'll be okay."
You let yourself relax in his grasp. Though you knew it was wrong, you couldn't help but picture yourself in someone else's arms.
"I'll let you have some of my chocolate if you come in to walk with me."
"Deal."
~~~~~~~
And that's how you ended up here. Walking among the land of the living again, trying to ignore the whispers and stares, all while looking out for a pierced boy. You thought you saw his back at one point, but it was just his younger brother Regulas, who when he turned around and saw you, give you a polite nod.
Talking with Remus was nothing but a pleasure, catching you up on the gossip you had missed and adding his own commentary. It seemed nothing would be able to dampen your mood until you felt the thundercloads roll over again.
You had been walking down the shore of the lake when you saw the tree. The tree where you and him had shared countless laughs, deep conversations, (most of which talked of your future together) kisses, and intimate touches. Where you shared stories of your day, read to one another, and even a few nights of love making.
But your favorite pastime with Sirius, besides the sex, was the star gazing. You would lay out on the ground, his warm leather jacket the only protection from the prickly grass, and Sirius would rest his head on your chest. Then begin your game. Sirius would point to a light in the sky and say its name, although most you already knew, then you would tell the stories and mythology behind that star. As you looked up at the galaxy, you could imagine that you were somewhere else in time, somewhere without the threat of an impending war, maybe a peaceful farm with geese roaming around.
There were more than a few times that you and the boy would have to sneak back into the castle, being woken from your slumber by the streaks of dawn flooding the sky.
But that sacrade tree was not without company. There leaning on the stump was Sirius. But what really cemented the dagger into your heart was the girl curled into his chest reading aloud the lines of a book.
Remus followed your line of sight and quickly turned you away, starting to chatter on about dinner.
But it was too late, you already felt a shiver go down your spine despite the heat. The look he was giving her was one that you were plenty familiar with. A look of awe, admiration, maybe even love. A look that used to be able to stop you in your tracks and make your heart mush still had the same effect, only befriended with a sour emotion.
You recognized the girl, believing she was in the year younger than yours. She was also the one he said not to worry about.
As you began walking away from the scene, you couldn't help but compare it to a car accident. Wanting to look but knowing as soon as you see the damage you wouldn't be able to unsee it. But another thought lingered in your mind. The urge to walk right up to the couple, to the girl, and warn her. Warn her that she was just a pawn in a game he likes to play; fun to play with but easily expandable.
But you could tell it was too late for her. Having already looked into his eyes, being put in a hypnotic state of adoration. A parallel to your own experience.
~~~~~~~
The first time you were really captivated with Sirius was when you really took a look into his eyes. Having known of each other, you never began talking until you were partnered in Charms class. It's said that eyes are a window to the soul, and as disgusting as it sounds, you could see your whole future in them. They were hypnotic and put you in a trance like state of borderline obsession.
Angeleyes were the only way to describe them.
With Sirius Black, every day felt like paradise. He was everything one would ever need in a boyfriend. He was doting and wasn't afraid to show it. Blowing kisses at Quddich games, buying expensive gifts, and even creative once in a lifetime dates.
Every day was an adventure. For your half-year anniversary, Sirius had managed to bag front row tickets to see Bowie. You and him danced under the stars that night, the euphonious voice of the Starman himself filling your ears like honey. That night was filled with tipsy lovemaking and a warm shower to wash the colorful makeup off your faces.
Everything was perfect...
Until it wasn't.
You had heard the rumors of his past, you would have to be living under a rock to not have. Of breaking hearts left and right. It didn't matter who you were, how you acted, Sirius Black would break your heart.
But when you hit your two month mark of dating, you thought you were different. How unfortunately and totally wrong you were.
He was getting distant by the nine month mark. Although you knew what was to come, you tried to hold it off as best you could. He began acting weirder. Trying to distance himself from you in public, keeping touches to minimim. He would partner with his friends on projects, when before his eyes would quickly find yours when a group project was mentioned. Then, when you were in private, he was back to his old loving self, the Sirius you feel in love with.
He broke up with you in public. In the Great Hall. In the middle of dinner. In. front. of. everyone. The room became silent, something that never happened, as they watched the Heartbreak Prince collect another broken heart. You tried to maintain your dignity and not let your tears fall as you moved to the opposite side of the table from him, your friends following. It wasn't until you got to the dorm that night that you broke down in Mary's arms, the mutters of Lily and Marlene's threats to kill him accompanying your broken sobs.
You were right about his angeleyes. Though his love and innocence was just a wear of disguse, underneath it all, he still was an angel, but rather to add, a fallen angel. A man who plays the game and continues to collect hearts as his victims pay the price.
But sometimes at night, in the dark of the dormitory, or you're feeling extra lonely, you like to imagine he's lying next to you, stunning eyes still trained on you. You believe that will forever be the price you pay for falling in love with the boy.
Or in the halls, as you walk by the Gryfindor as if he's a stranger, the pain that you had managed to wear away had all come back like a flood of cold water. It still hurt to even think about your time together, a time you never thought you could life without him. A part of you couldn't, and that part died the day he broke your heart, a part you will never get back. But as time goes on, you know you'll get stronger and one day break free of his spell.
As Sirius struts the hallway with a new student every week, you stare down his new prey, hoping they get your warning.
Don't look too deep into his angeleyes.
UNPOPULAR OPINIONS ABOUT HARRY POTTER
Comparing James to Draco is dumb, James Potter wasn't a coward, he fought actively with the Order of the Phoenix to protect Muggle-Borns like Lily, whilst Draco was a Daddy's boy coward who jumped off a sinking ship at the right time. I don't even like James but I admit he's a better person than Dracock Malfuck.
Narcissa Malfoy is over-praised, people don't realize Cissy was born a BLACK, and espouses the same blood-purist ideologies that Bellatrix does, she just cares more about her son than a noseless maniac who constantly humiliated her family in the past, she cared nothing for Harry, she was still the same Narcissa Malfoy in HBP, she cared about her son and would do anything to protect him, she's proof that even racists can love, it's not shocking.
Remadora is not a problematic ship, y'all infantilize the fuck out of Tonks, just because your stupid Wolfstar ship ain't canon doesn't mean you have to bash Tonks. Plus Remus and Sirius weren't really friends if you really think about it, Peter, Sirius and Remus's best friend can be summarized as James Potter, no one else, for the longest time Remus though Sirius was a spy, and Sirius though Remus was a spy, not to mention the shrieking shack situation, not healthy relationship material.
Jegulus is the equivalent of internet vomit. Regulus is a racist blood-purist, no amount of babygirlification would change the fact Regulus was perfectly okay with the House of Black and Voldemort's racist ideology until his mistreatment of Kreacher. James on the other hand fought valiantly for Muggle-Born rights with the Order of the Phoenix.
"eughh I ship Dramioneeee, Draco never made Hermione cry but Ron did" spoken like a true movie watcher, I am pretty sure when Draco hurled Densaugeo at Hermione, she cried, granted it wasn't meant for her, but Draco never bothered to apologize or make it up to her. Not to mention he joked about the prospect of Hermione getting sexually assaulted in GoF and wished her dead in CoS.
Continuing with my anti-Dramione tangent, most Dramione writers fall into two categories, people who think Emma Watson and Tom Felton are cute together or self-insert writers who imagine themselves as Hermione.
I love Luna Lovegood but to be honest, but she's a crazed conspiracy theorist who spouts everything her father says without question, if she were a muggle, she'd be spouting QAnon, Flat Earth and Illuminati theories unironically and would probably be into Alex Jones shit.
In FanFiction, I hate it when authors give OC Characters related to canon characters unfitting names. Like Emily Malfoy or Clara Black. For a Malfoy sister fic, it should probably be a constellation or a flower, like Vega Malfoy or Violet Malfoy, for a Sirius sister fanfic, I'd imagine Aquila or Lyra, I'm trying to shy away from the overused Cassiopeia here.
Tomarry fics make me wish the mayans were right about 2012.
Dramione rant again (Sorry), is mostly about Hermione fixing Draco, as if that is her job or responsibility to force an arsehole to change his ways, it's basically about having a smart girl light herself on fire so a racist can be warm.
Lets be honest, if Fred or George were in your class or dorm, you'd hate them. Not to mention they were shit brothers to Ron and Percy.
Making Alice in the Marauders year is dumb, she was a respected Auror which takes training, so she'd probably be years above the marauders. It took Tonks a long while to become an Auror, and Alice is a RESPECTED Auror, which means she probably had been in the field for a long time.
Slytherin Skittles is the cringiest shit I've ever seen. You do realise Evan Rosier disfigured a man and Barty Crouch Jr. assisted in the torture of two innocent Aurors. So what he had an abusive childhood, Harry did and he's not a complete dick.
Hagrid is an irresponsible teacher who endangered the trio many times.
No one would want a canon Marauders prequel, because if Mrs. Rowling sticked to canon, people would shit themselves that Regulus isn't a femboy autistic soft boi but an actual racist. They'd be shocked to found out Remus Lupin isn't a study-hard nerd, the Marauders aren't popular sex-gods (They literally had codenames, that's one of the dorkiest things you can do), Peter Pettigrew wasn't always a snide bastard, Marlene and Dorcas aren't canonically in a relationship and aren't ever mentioned to be in the marauders era year and the Frank and Alice were probably in Auror training when the marauders were forming.
Peeps should stop shipping Hermione with everyone, especially Death Eaters; Bellamione, Lumione, Dramione, Rabmione, Scabmione, Tomione, Rodolmione, Fenrirmione heck even Dolomione.
Marriage Law Fics are shit, they are usually centered around Hermione being shipped with a Death Eater (What are the odds my fellas?) I'll remind you Hermione is perfectly happy with her ginger prince charming and would fight against such law if it were to ever happen.
Remus was an irresponsible adult to Harry. He unintentionally became a father-figure to him (before even Sirius) by his connections to James and Lily and by being the first D.A.D.A Professor who didn't have Voldemort on the back of his head and didn't have cats for brains. However he endangered Harry selfishly by not warning him of his lycanthropy for HIS OWN SAKE while Snape told everyone his secret even if it would affect his own character. Lupin's response was just fleeing and not even acknowledging Harry's existence in GoF until Order of the Phoenix.
Molly was right about Sirius. Think about it, Sirius Black is a mentally unstable man with the mind of a rebellious teenager, his mind had been overrun with Dementors and so had part of his sanity. Molly was just looking out for Harry and was right when she said Sirius confuses Haz for James. And yes, she is absolutely trying to be Lily because Harry has grown up an orphan without parents and with an abusive background, and having 7 children herself , would realize when a child needs a mother figure.
5th Marauders fics can usually be summarized as this; "Hello, my name is Amethyst Black, my siblings are Sirius and Regulus - oh and I'm a Metamorphmagus, Seer, Veela werewolf hybrid, I am such a quirky blood-traitor that I got into Gryffindor with my short gay brother Sirius who totally wants to deepthroat Remmy UwU. I have the hots for James Potter senpaii. My parents are so mean to me btw, like Walburga uses Crucio on me because I am seggsy and hawt and Orion beats me up everyday for being built like a Kardashian, so jelly. Anyways, Snape also has a crush on me, but that whore can go kill himself because i am so perfect and awesome. Marlene is my lesbian zesty friend who has the hawts for Dorcas Meadowes, some rando slytherin whore ig, here is my story on how I defeated Voldemort and became the mother of 50 potter children."
Mattheo Riddle and Lorenzo Berkshire are abominations of fanfic cringe, Mattheo Riddle is basically a wizard british version of an equally terrible character names Marcus Lopez, I am sure Mr. Wadsworth is a very nice stand up guy in real life, but he's so fucking ugly, he looks like every TikTok boy I've ever seen, I can get Berkshire, people fancast him as Louis Partridge, but Berkshire's character gives me cancer.
Daphne Greengrass and Theodore Nott are examples of canon ocs.
Bellatrix Lestrange child fanfics are for the most part pretty bad, it's usually a Bellamort or Belladolphus child and I don't think it's in character for Bellatrix to even have a child, that's why I despised Cursed Child so much.
Having Dorea Black as Harry Potter's grandmom makes no sense. Sirius's early arc was mostly having a found family, and since Dorea would be his great-aunt, that's not really a founding family. Euphemia and Fleamont are way better, you can do so much with them. You can make Euphemia a Rosier, Lestrange, Fawley, Nott, Greengrass, Yaxley or Crouch if you want.
I've seen others talking about their views on dramione, from both pro and anti perspectives, and I figured I'd share my thoughts as well.
So here's my take on dramione, as a dramione shipper.
First of all, I've seen people who are agaisnt the ship claiming its toxic. The truth is, they are correct. Dramione is a toxic pairing.
If they were real people, I'd be absolutely horrifed to imagine them together and would be disgusted with anyone who encouraged it. If they were real, Hermione wouldn't ever end up with him, and if she did, I'd be one of the people who would beg her to reconsider.
But the thing is, they AREN'T real people. If I wanted to read about real life, I'd pick up an autobiography.
When I watch a horror movie, I laugh at the characters for making dumb decisions because I know in real life, they're okay. When I read dramione and get excited over them being absolutely horrible to eachother, it's because that's what the author intended to do when writing that scene: Getting the reader involved.
It's exciting seeing them go at eachother with viscous spells, tossing out deep cutting insults, literally at eachothers throats, and then open another tab where they're being adorable and fluffy and soft.
It's fun! They can stay familiar to me depsite changing drastically.
Now as for Ron, I can't speak for the fandoms general hatred for him. I actually really like Ron, he's funny, I relate to him, and honestly I don't care about his relationship with Hermione, but I simply don't find them interesting together.
As a kid, I didn't even realize they were meant to be together until they were. I was a pretty clueless kid to be fair, but when they did end up together, my reaction was pretty much: "Oh. Okay."
That never really changed for me. I love their friendship, and I care more about that than their romance. And if they were real, I'd find them absolutely adorable, but again, they're not.
I do think the hate is absurd though. I frequently see Ron made into some complete idiot. Ron has issues with emotional intelligence at times, but that doesn't make him dumb, and I really wish that trope would die in dramione fics, but I digress.
Another aspect I find interesting about dramione is their personality traits. We know that your house doesn't mean a lack of other traits, just that those stood out more for you.
We know that clearly through Hermione especially, as we see her cunning, ambition, and resourcefulness. All slytherin traits.
I like the idea of Dracos "gryffindor" traits surfacing, and I like the idea of these attributes interacting between the characters. Draco's cunning luring out Hermione's, and her bravery dragging his up.
I'm also intrigued by the idea of those things working with eachother. Dracos resourcefulness aiding in Hermiones passion for helping others.
Anyway, that's really all I've got to say, if you read this far, here's a gif of a cat for your time.
Hi! Since requests are open can you do fred weasley x reader who's in Slytherin? She's really shy and is often seen near Fred but when she can't find him she'll often ask others if they've seen him
She also has her own group of friends (3 or 5 people) where they're normally at Hogwarts and not home during holidays, but they often spend their time at hogsmeade and diagon alley
Kept his name
Fred Weasley x reader
A/n:- this request was really interesting! Hope you enjoy this !
Tumblr media
As Hogwarts started again after holidays and new class came in, y/n also got admitted to Hogwarts with the new ones. She's a little quiet but her eyes sparkled with passion. Maybe her ambitious nature and passion helped her to be sorted in Slytherin. When they all were seated for the dinner her eyes fell on a pair of twins of gryffindor. To be more specific on one particular of them. He was 3years older so she could see they both were kinda prankster and she liked that about them. When she asked the boy beside her about them they said "oh they're the famous Weasley twins I've heard"
"Famous?"
"Yes Weasley family is famous for having as much kids that they can't afford" and started laughing.
"What are their names?"
A girl infront of her said "fred and George, now don't ask me which one is which one"
She found them really interesting. Y/n loved her house too much to be ever wanting to change it but wished if he could be in Slytherin.
The boy and the girl she talked the first day became her friends. And she found out what her favourite person's name is. When they went to them to give leaflets of an event of Hogwarts, coincidentally fred went to her and said "hey I'm fred, give this to your class and make sure they attends"
She had no idea what to do or say when their fingers brushed while taking the leaflet. She forgot to blink and could only say "hm" and look down. She could hear fred saying under his breath " attitude, typical Slytherin" but who would tell him y/n was having crush on him.
This way her years went on Hogwarts. They used to stay at Hogwarts for holidays because she liked staying there more than returning to her house also her guy friend's parents lived far so they wanted to accompany him, her parents used to come to Hogwarts to give her gifts, as being great wizards they never talked to the Weasley family the year they also stayed at Hogwarts to company Harry. Her both friend's knew she was crushing over a Weasley so they said "Mr and Mrs y/l/n won't like it"
"It's nothing of that sort"
"So you don't have a crush on him"
"Well, now it's been three years I've been friends with you both so there's no use of lying, yes I have a huge crush over him".
"We knew, whenever you were shy around him, whenever you asked where's he when he was absent and whenever you could recognise which one is him" said he laughing."
"But they'll be graduating next year why don't you ask him out?" Said the girl.
"You just said my parents won't like this"
"They might, he's a pure blood"
So she went to him and finally said "fred"
He turned and said "yes"
That's all , she was stunned again but managed to say "hey, how are you"
"Aa! Fine, until someone comes to attack Harry again"
"Yeah right"
"You want something"
"No, I was wondering that - that, how are you feeling now that you'll be graduating next year"
"Hopefully I do" said he laughing "but it feels good I guess"
"Are you gonna miss some people from here?"
"Oh yeah, Harry, Hermione and some few from Hogwarts and Luna"
"Oh , cool I'm going to my mates then"
"Oh wait I'll miss you and your friends, only polite people of Slytherin"
This made y/n feel good and she smiled since then she started spending time with Fred after he graduated she asked him "Fred? Do you think we can meet again as... as dates?"
"We can if it's only in mischievous places"
"I'd like diagonally and hogsmade"
"Cool we can do so much fun there".
Few years later after the Hogwarts battle y/n went with her son and her husband to take their son to Hogwarts express. There she found her two friends but their kids were older. They all hugged. So she let her son meet her mate's children. "So , all the best for your magical journey my boy"
He hugged her and got an window seat, y/n waved , so did he and said "make many good friends there Fred".
Tom Riddle x Oc
Alice had known Tom from the very beginning, she had been with Dumbledore the day he had went to visit Tom at the orphanage. She was thoroughly intrigued by him, despite what Mrs. Cole had said about him being different.
She didn't believe being different was necessarily a bad thing as most did. It made one unique and stand out in most cases.
And stand out Tom did, to her. She vividly remembers their first conversation..
Flashback;
" I can speak to snakes, is that normal for people like me? "
Tom had said as Alice and Albus had started to leave his room. Which caused little Alice's head to pop back around the door frame, curiously asking;
" You can speak to snakes? What do they tell you? "
" They tell me ... things. "
" Nice things? "
" No, not really.. - "
" Oh, well then maybe tell them a story next time. That helps me when I'm cranky. "
Alice beamed at him with pure innocent as she fully stepped back in front of the boy.
" But don't think of it as strange. The flowers often sing to me afterall. "
" Flowers singing? "
" It's quite delightful really. "
" Come now Alice. We must be going now Tom, we look forward to seeing you again soon. "
Dumbledore intervened as he lightly directed Alice out of the room. But not before she could offer the boy a bright smile and enthusiastic wave goodbye.
End flashback;
Soon after that day, Tom and Alice became inseparable. Growing a bond not all could understand, though many grew grateful for as Alice had often saved others from Tom's wrath on many occasions.
To those on the outside looking in, it seemed Tom worshiped Alice. Often bending to her will with a bat of her lashes. If she wanted, needed anything he'd make it happen without her even needing to ask him.
Though as endearing as it may seem, it wasn't as innocent as it came off. Alice was Tom's first and only true friend. Someone who never judged him for his differences, just genuinely accepted and cared for him as he was. She never feared him, only learned over the years how to calm the raging pits of anger he could never quite tame himself.
Which lead to Tom becoming wholey obsessed with Alice.
But she never seemed to notice his unhealthy obsession, just seen it as Tom caring for her. Tom was her best friend afterall, weren't all best friends supposed to care for one another?
Year five soon came around, both Alice and Tom had been made perfects in their houses. Alice a Ravenclaw, Tom a Slytherin.
On this particular night of perfect duties they had been paired to roam the halls after curfew. Which in itself wasn't uncommon. But what was uncommon for the duo was Alice completely losing her temper on a Hufflepuff six year boy. Who'd they just caught slogging a fourth year Slytherin in a broom closet.
" 50 points from Hufflepuff!! And if you don't get out of my sight right now Robert so help me I'll break your nose! "
Alice rarely ever lost her temper, Tom had only witnessed it a handful of times over their years spent together. And the way she threatened the boy, wand drawn and seething, he took it onto himself to dismiss the Slytherin girl before Alice could turn on her. Knowing Alice would deduct points from her as well and well, that was Tom's house.
" And YOU! - where did she go??"
" I took care of her, now calm yourself, Ali. You look crazed. "
He gestured to her robes that slid off her shoulders and now hung loosely on her elbows.
" Because I am Tom! Robert has lead Isabella on for months knowing she fancies him, I've listened to hours of her speak so highly of him just to find him snogging someone else?! "
Isabella Nott was Alice's other best friend, right under Tom. She had met her back in first year on the train ride to Hogwarts.
" And now I'm going to have to tell her and break her heart! "
Alice huffed, crossing her arms over her chest, scowling at the boy who stood before her.
" You should have let me give her a piece of my mind. "
Tom held her gaze for a moment before his lips twitched into a small smirk, shaking his head lightly at the girl. She reminded him of a mama dragon, fiercely protective of those dear to her.
After a moment of silence Tom had offered her his hand, holding it out flat in front of her with a expecting look on his face.
Alice's face drew up in confusion for a second before realizing what he was doing. A soft sigh left her lips as she slipped her hand into his and he drew her in, placing his other palm onto her waist and hers on his chest, they began to sway. She couldn't help the soft smile that pulled onto her lips.
This was a method Alice always used on Tom when she would notice he was angry or upset. She used dancing as a way to distract his thoughts and direct them into a more positive place.
At first he detested the fact she would make him dance with her, told her it was pointless, stupid and embarrassing. As she would make him stop wherever they were or whatever they were doing to take a moment and just dance with her to
the beat of an invisible rhythm. But after time and time again, he came to complain less and less.
And now here they were, roles reversed, him initiating the dance to calm her thoughts.
Swaying comfortably in the dark hallway at half pass midnight to a song that only exists in their own heads.
" Feeling any better? "
" A little. "
She mumbled softly, resting her chin on his chest and her forehead under his chin.
" Good. "
And on that note he placed a soft kiss to her forehead as they slowed from their dance, yet didn't pull away. Finally she looked up to him fully, their gazes meeting.
" Why do you do that? "
Her voice was as soft as a whisper, only meant for the two of them to hear. The forehead kisses were a habit Tom had picked up in year four. It had started randomly and now everytime they danced, before the dance ended he'd press a soft butterfly kiss to the top of her forehead.
Not that she was complaining, of course. She quite enjoyed his little display of affection as he didn't display it often, even with her.
" Because I can never see your lips the way you bury yourself into my chest. "
" Oh - "
Her eyes slightly widened and a rosie blush now danced over the bridge of her nose.
" But I can see them now... "
He hesitated slightly, his hand now caressing her cheek as his thumb brushed over her bottom lip.
" I- Indeed. "
A soft chuckle left him as his eyes flickered between hers and her lips. Slowly he leaned in and finally he let his urges he'd been battling with for a year now, win.
His lips molded together with hers.
hi! i've written you another request just now. soo how about another one where the gryff reader and draco are enemies -i just love angst i cent help it- everyone is at a party slytherin is hosting and some guys decide to bully y/n and call her a mudblood and maybe jinx her or curse her but she doesnt have her wand and draco comes to help her and maybe takes her to his room and FLUFF
Jinx Me, Why Don't You? | Draco Malfoy x Reader
word count: 1,693 words
warnings: some foul play, cursing, some scenes that might make certain people uncomfortable, fluff!
December 16th, 1996. The Slytherin Common Room. 1:46 am.
The loud chattering of your friends surrounding you was almost unrecognizable, rolling your eyes at their drunken giggles and jabbering. There were currently a group of Hufflepuff girls near you throwing up into a hopefully empty satchel, their slurred giggles making you laugh quietly to yourself taking a sip of your soda. You decided against drinking considering you had to get up early the next morning for an early studying session.
One of your close friends, Blaise Zabini had invited you to his 'All Houses Party' that Slytherin had wanted to host as an end of the year celebration. When you arrived, your friend was chugging the biggest bottle of Firewhisky you had ever seen, practically having to hoist him up as he drunkenly showed you all around the Common Room before rushing upstairs to the bathroom. You weren't sure if it was because he really had to use the restroom, or maybe it was because his face was growing a sickly shade of green.
You shook your head, lifting your cup to your lips not to long before someone smacked it out of your hands harshly, the cold drink going all over your shirt and over the floor leaving your skin tingling from the cold. Locking eyes with a pair of Slytherins who were currently smirking down at you, one of the boys, known as Goyle was taking slow steps towards you.
"Well don't you look out of place, little Gryffindor."
"I don't think so. Last I checked, they didn't allow roaches on campus, so if anything you're out of place.” You replied rather snappy, trying to wipe off some of the soda off of your shirt with some nearby napkins. You were beyond annoyed, you had worn one of your favorite shirts considering the baby blue fabric complimented you nicely. That bitch, I just got another refill. Goyle grabbed a hold of your hands, tugging you closer a mischievous look in his eye. "Let. Go. Of Me. Or so help me-"
"Watch who you're talking to, you filthy mudblood,"
"I know exactly who I'm talking to, Goyle." The grip on your arm tightened, feeling your breathing growing heavy as you finally took notice of how far off to the side you had wandered off, taking in all the guys currently surrounding you. Vincent Crabbe, Cassius Warrington, and Graham Montague were also eyeing you struggle in Goyle's grip.
"Seems like we need to teach her a little lesson, don't you reckon?" Cassius hummed, his fingers reaching into his robes pulling out his wand a smirk resting on his face. The other boys followed pursuit, watching as Goyle shoved me into an empty nearby dorm room locking the door behind them. You scrambled backwards patting yourself down in search for your wand, cursing at yourself as you came up empty handed. The tight feeling on your chest never ceased, your chest heaving up and down as you kept your eyes on all four guys. You prayed to god they all had the smallest amount of dignity left to where they would't take advantage of you.
"You guys are a nothing but a bunch of pansies-"
"What did you call me?" Graham hissed, his cheeks turning a slight red lifting his wand up to hit the underside of your chin forcing you to look up even further. His sneer was evident, practically snarling at you as you stared him down.
"I called you a little bitch, Warrington-" You barely managed to choke out his last name as a jinx hit your chest, crumbling to the floor as your screams were muffled by Cassius' quick thinking. The sharp pain coursing through your body was nothing like what you had ever experienced, whatever the hell it was, was a close second to feeling like the cruciatus curse. The second you thought the pain had faded, Cassius and Crabbe both hoisted you onto your feet practically having to hold you up as your knees kept buckling underneath you.
"Did you really think we wouldn't do anything?"
"I never thought you even had the balls to hold a wand, Goyle," You smirked through the pain, noting his face growing red as he threw another jinx at you making you grit your teeth in pain as you felt an unbearable heat wash over your already burning frame. The heat felt unreal, burning every little inch from your fingers down to your toes, letting out a small hiss at the small flame on the tip of his wand making his way closer to you.
"Goyle... what in the world do you think you are doing?" The sound of a familiar voice brought instant relief to you, but it didn't last long considering the two frantic boys dropped your body onto the hard ground making room for the blonde. A loud whine left your lips, resting your sweating forehead on the cold ground, every muscle in your body aching even with the smallest of movements. This is for sure going to bruise tomorrow...
"I was just teaching the mudblood a lesson-"
"Don't you dare call her that," All four guys stopped their snickering, a look of fear evident on Goyle's face as Draco got in his face his eyes narrowed. Goyle nodded stiffly, his eyes flickering down at you stuffing his wand into his robes motioning for the rest of the guys to follow him, hastily making way from your crumbled body. You choked out a cough, attempting to use your shaking limbs to lift yourself off of the ground.
"Love... let me,"
The touch of his cold hands on your burning skin felt refreshing, wanting nothing more than to let him just scoop you up into his arms. Malfoy wrapped his toned arms around your waist, letting you wrap your arms arounds his neck feeling your legs trembling underneath you.
Draco and you had an interesting friendship to say the least.
No one really knew that you guys had even known each other, let alone been friends all this time.
You guys had started talking after a small incident in your 1st year, where you had accidentally fallen during training and he happened to be the one to help cushion your fall. Ever since then, you guys had an acquaintance-ship, as Draco liked to call it.
Spending late nights talking over stupid little things.
Teasing one another over childish crushes, and practicing new spells to improve on together.
He always helped out during Potions, while you helped him in Charms and History. He didn't mind it. He enjoyed your annoying comments at every jab he had made towards anybody. He always rolled his eyes and pretended he hated it.
But, he knew deep down he loved every second of it.
Your hands automatically went to grip onto Dracos shoulder as he helped you into his dorm room, trying to set you down on his bed without hurting you. A loud hiss left your lips as he helped you into the cooling material of his bed, happily letting yourself fall back closing your eyes tightly. "Thank you. You have no idea how grateful I am for you."
"You have no reason to thank me. If I was just paying closer attention to you, this wouldn't have happened." Draco angrily spat, knocking over one of his dorm mates cloaks off of their dresser in a haste. "Merlin... I never thought they would ever stoop that low."
The silence between the two of you was scary. For the years you had known Draco, you had never seen him as angry as he was at this very moment. His jaw was clenched, his hands gripping onto the frame of his bed tightly his knuckles a stark white. The sound of Draco seething by your feet was all that could be heard throughout the room, that and the sound of your small whimpers as you tried shifting into a more comfortable position. Failing miserably.
"Here, let me." He mumbled, making his way over to you pulling his wand out of his robe muttering a small charm over your body. And as quickly as he had uttered those words, it was as if someone had thrown warm water over you. Every ache in your body disappeared, along with an injury you had sustained earlier in the week from falling down the stairs. A small gasp left your lips at the strange sensation, your eyes fluttering close at the immediate sensation of bliss that engulfed you. "How do you feel?"
"Blissful... where in the world did you learn that?"
"My mother. I'm taking that it helped?"
"Yes. God yes. You're a saint, Draco." You hummed softly, peering up at the blonde whose bottom lip was currently being gnawed on. You reached over and grabbed ahold of his hand, squeezing it softly as a way of saying thank you. Draco cracked a small smile, letting out a sigh as he eyed your relaxed features. "Come- sit down.. Don't worry your pretty little head about this,"
You gestured to the open spot beside you, scooting over to make more room for him. Draco gladly sat alongside you wrapping his arm around your shoulders pulling you close, to which you happily hummed. Sneaking your arm around his torso, holding him by his waist pulling him closer to you reminiscing on how warm he always felt against your cold frame. Inhaling his soft scent of freshly picked mint and the cologne you had gotten him for his birthday which he never failed to wear every single day, feeling your body relax in his hold.
"Mmm... we haven't done this in so long. I’m sorry that this had to be the reason it brought us together."
"Don't. You know none of this is your fault." Draco scolded, using his free hand to find its way into your hair running his fingers through it softly. "Nothing you could do, could ever ruin my night, or my anything for that matter… besides, I missed you.”
"I missed you too, darling," You tightened your hold on his torso, nuzzling closer into him. "Did you want to spend the night tonight?" He hummed, trailing his fingers alongside your arms chuckling softly as he spotted goosebumps follow behind the trail he made.
“You truly are something Malfoy.”
"So is that a yes or...?"
authors note: thank you so much for requesting this lovely, sorry it took me so long to get back to you! i only just now started picking this back up again, i was a little bit preoccupied with my job but i should be back for good now! i got a little carried away with this but i do hope its to your standards. thank you and enjoy!
Classic: Harmony; Drarry.
A bit niche: James/Sirius; Regulus/Barty Jr.
Tastefully deranged: Voldemort/Barty Jr.; Lily/Bellatrix.
Deranged: Barty Sr./Winky.
Crack: Drapple.
ok, well this is the game that keeps on giving...
harmony
i've never read a single piece of harmony all the way through.
i just never see it working unless the characters are changed beyond recognition. harry's conflict-avoidance versus hermione's love of debate is a recipe for disaster, and while i absolutely don't go in for the common anti-harmony argument that harry doesn't like spending time with hermione, it's certainly true that he doesn't pay a huge amount of attention to her and her interests in canon.
all of which is to say, there's a huge potential for drama here, which i would really like, but most harmony is in the vein of 'tee hee, ron is so ugly and stupid, harmony is smart and perfect, come darling let us solve world hunger'.
and that's not for me.
drarry
i fuck with drarry providing draco is the more feral of the two.
i've seen lots of drarry with harry being basically bewitched by draco and... no. draco 'i'm keeping tabs on how many times you go to the hospital wing and constantly trying to get your attention from the slytherin table' malfoy is down bad and up to no good. he is not suave and cool.
harry's just there.
james potter/sirius black
canon.
regulus black/barty crouch jr.
i've mentioned a lot that i hate fanon regulus. well i hate fanon barty even more, since he actually has a canon personality.
that is to say, if they're both sweet woobies who didn't realise they'd joined a terrorist organisation, and just wish they could leave the death eaters and teach the world to sing, it's a hard no from me.
if they're both deranged aspiring war criminals with daddy issues, sign me up.
barty crouch jr./lord voldemort
i'm incredibly into it, and will one day publish the wip i have with this very pairing.
lily evans/bellatrix lestrange
i don't love it as a concept, largely because lily has enough drama queens in her life with snape, james, and sirius. she needs someone whose idea of fun isn't running around shrieking and committing murder.
plus, imagine the awkwardness of being lord voldemort's love rival. it couldn't be me.
barty crouch sr./winky
don't have sex with your slaves.
drapple
the apple - a crisp granny smith, since smith is a pureblood name (descended from hufflepuff, don't you know) - is the purest thing draco has ever encountered.
they're a match made in heaven.
12 | Golden Celebration
Pairing: Ominis Gaunt x Fem!Reader
Serpents and Roses
GARRETH'S P.O.V.
"Yo," I say as I approach that asshole who interrupted me and Y/N previously. "Where's Y/N?"
"Ah, so now you believe me about Prewett," he smirks, ignoring my question.
"Piss off and answer the question. Where's Y/N?" I ask, my eyes narrowing at him.
"I dunno," he shrugs. "We saw those Slytherins... Sallow and Gaunt. They gave her a drink, let her get super drunk, and insisted on carrying her back to the Slytherin dorms."
"You're a fucking liar. You did something to her," I growl.
"Hey," he holds his hands up defensively. "If I wanted to do something with her, I would be with her right now. You should check the Slytherin dorms, not me. I'm being honest with you."
"Whatever," I grunt, storming off back through the crowd.
"Check the dungeons!" he calls out after me. "I'm sure she'll be there!"
Y/N'S P.O.V.
The next morning when you wake up, Luna is already dressed and standing by your bed. "Good morning," she grins.
"Ugh," you groan.
"You're hungover, aren't you?" she asks.
"I think," you moan. "I hardly remember anything that happened after Garreth..."
"Oh?" she smirks. "Did you spend some time in the Gryffindor dorms? Sounds like you had quite the night, Y/N."
"I... what?" you mumble, your mind a jumbled mess. "Wait, did we? I can't remember. Shit, Luna, help me."
"Well, first of all, no, you didn't," she shakes her head. "In fact, Garreth spent practically the whole night looking for you. He told Amit and me that he left you with Nott who let those Slytherin assholes slip you some potion. I thought he was gonna have a stroke. He was so upset."
"Garreth was?" you ask, confused.
"Yeah. I've never seen him so angry. Kept talking about the next time he saw Gaunt and Sallow that-"
"But that's not what happened," you blurt out, though you have no idea where your words are coming from.
"It's not?" she raises her eyebrow. "Y/N, what happened last night?"
"I'm not sure," you frown. "But I think I'm gonna need a bucket!"
***
Later that day you take a walk towards James' classroom where you know he's busy studying. When you walk in, he looks up and shakes his head at you. "Long night?" he asks, perceptive as always.
"Unbelievably," you sigh as you sit down at one of the desks in the front row.
"I'm glad you're here, actually," he says as he puts down his glasses and leans back in his seat. "There's a student in your class who approached me the other day. He said he has hardly ever had any interactions with a muggle so I thought you'd be a great asset to him in completing his project."
"Seriously?" you groan, slumping down further in your chair. "James, no. That's so lame. What does he even need help with anyway?"
"He wants to do learn more regarding the muggle world," he explains, causing you to sit back up. "He wants to know more about it."
"Why can't he do it himself?" you ask.
"Well, he can but since he's your friend I thought you'd be a bit more willing to help," he shrugs, going back to his work. "Nevermind then."
"No, wait. What friend?" you question, more curious now.
"I thought you didn't want to help? It's not like you're going to get any extra credit for this anyway," he hums, picking up his quill and writing something down.
"I didn't say that. If I'm going to be doing someone a favor, it should be someone I know at least," you explain. "And it sounds like it is."
"Very well," James chuckles, his eyes lighting up. "It's Ominis Gaunt. He came to me a couple of days ago and I told him I wouldn't be able to because of how swamped I am right now. But I did say that you'd be the next best option."
"What?! Why?"
"Don't be dumb," James shrugs, putting his quill back down again. "You know why. We're the only muggles in this place."
Just then, a few students begin to walk into the room. You stand up and approach James' desk as they fill in the other seats. James slides toward you the paper he was writing on. "I told Ominis that if you agreed, you'd meet him in the library Friday night which, if I'm not mistaken, is tonight."
"James, I'm not sure if I can," you sigh.
"Come on, Y/N. Help him out a little, will you? It's a small project. Nothing major," he tells you, waving his hand dismissively.
Before you can say anything else, a female Hufflepuff with red hair approaches James and tucks her hair behind her ears. "Good afternoon, Professor," she smiles widely at James, starting to flirt with him which makes you want to barf. She's got some serious balls to hit on your brother while you're in the middle of talking to him. "Um, I was wondering if you had any time in your busy schedule to tutor me a bit after class?"
"Um, yeah, sure," he replies, obviously a bit flustered by her question.
"Great," she smiles, taking his quill from him and writing down the details on the same paper that has Ominis' information on it before handing it to him and walking to her seat.
"Well I guess I'll be taking that," you hum as you grab the paper from him. "And don't- don't accept all of their requests," you stammer, the girl's behavior catching you off guard. "I'll see you later, James."
"Yeah, yeah, go on. See you later."
***
You sigh to yourself as you open the door to the library and descend the staircase. The library is huge, so you have no idea where you're supposed to be meeting Ominis. So, instead, you pull the piece of paper that James gave you out of your pocket. You look for Ominis' name and find that his location is in a section of the library near the back.
"Of course," you sigh to yourself as you put the piece of paper away and make your way through the bookcases. When you finally arrive, you can't find Ominis anywhere.
"Shit," you mumble under your breath. Maybe you should just head back to your dorm.
"Y/N!"
His voice shocks you and causes you to jump. "Ominis?" you reply, spinning around. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Waiting for you," he replies, stepping closer to you.
"Where were you hiding?" you ask, narrowing your eyes at him.
"Not hiding," he grins, shaking his head. "Just looking around."
"What does that mean?"
"I've got a spot," he nods. "Would you like to come with me?" he asks as he extends his arm out to you.
"Yeah, I guess," you reply, placing your hand in his. He then leads you away from the bookcases and towards the side of the library. He takes you down a narrow passageway and down a hidden staircase.
"What is this place?" you ask, following him closely behind.
"Secret passageway," he smirks over his shoulder at you.
"Right," you murmur, growing even more curious about what exactly it is that he wants to show you.
Eventually, you arrive at a small yet lavishly decorated study room filled with tall, dark wood bookshelves packed with numerous books. Your jaw drops at the sight as Ominis walks past an ornate wood table and reaches for the open book beside a lit candle. You slowly step onto the rug before sinking into the luxurious-looking sofa beside him.
"This is beautiful," you whisper to him as you look up at the way the night sky and stars seep in through the ceiling.
"I can imagine it does," he nods as he reaches for a teacup from the table.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean..."
"It's alright," he replies as he hands you the small teacup. "Tea?"
"Thank you," you answer softly. You can't help but feel relaxed between the fireplace on your left and Ominis so close to you on your right. You never imagined a place like this could actually exist. It is quite literally out of a fantasy novel you read back home. You'd be perfectly happy never leaving either.
"Now, what was it that James wanted me to help you with again?" you ask.
"I'm not sure specifically," Ominis replies, looking at you. "I haven't really decided on what to do my project on. Figured maybe you could tell me about some things.
"Y-yeah, sure," you mutter as you reach into the pocket of your cloak and pull out your headphones. "It's things like this that I miss," you begin to explain as you reach for his hand next, "There are so many things that wizards have that muggles don't. But, sometimes there are things that you don't have."
"What are those?" he whispers as you place them in his grasp.
"Muggle music," you tell him as you turn the device on and click the play button. "My favorite band," you grin as Ominis' eyes widen.
"I like this," he nods. "It's like sending magic right into your head. How does it work?"
"It's called a mp3 player. It has a lot of songs on it. Here," you smile as you hand the device over to him, "take it. Maybe it could be one of the things you research."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," you shrug. "Mostly when I listen to it now it makes me a bit homesick so I don't mind giving it away."
"Thank you," he smiles.
"You're welcome," you reply.
"You know," he adds after a moment of silence, "I don't think muggle things are bad at all, like a lot of my family tries to make me believe."
"Well it's not evil," you chuckle. "We also have other things like a camera to photograph moments in time. They don't move like they do here, but it's a fun thing to have. And ways of getting around like by riding a bike or-"
"A bike?" he asks, furrowing his brows.
"Oh," you smile, your eyes lighting up at the thought. "A bike is a way we get around. It has two big wheels that move when you pedal with your feet."
"That sounds quite difficult. Does everyone ride them?"
"No, just people who want to get around. We have cars but they are a bit dangerous," you explain.
"Do you have one? A car?" he continues to ask, getting more curious by the moment.
"James does and he's let me use it a few times but I mostly just ride my bike around. I like being outside," you tell him
"I do too," he nods. "It's refreshing."
"Yeah, especially when it's a nice warm day," you reply.
"I would love to visit your world someday, Y/N," he admits with a sigh.
"Have you never been to the muggle world before?" you ask softly, not wanting to make him feel awkward.
"No," he shakes his head. "My parents wouldn't allow it. They always said it was beneath us. But I don't agree. From everything you've told me since we've become friends, it sounds amazing."
You can feel your heart flutter in your chest at his words. He reaches out his hands for yours and holds them gently. As you look down, you realize just how much larger his hands are compared to yours. His palms are a bit calloused, but his fingers are long and slender, the fingertips soft as they wrap around your hands.
"You're cold," he mutters, looking up at you.
"No, not really," you answer, doing everything in your power to remain calm. "My hands just get like that when I'm..."
"When you're what?"
"Nervous," you admit, your face heating up
"Oh," he replies. "Am I making you nervous, Y/N?"
"Kind of, yes," you breathe out. "I mean, before I came here nobody found my life interesting. Not to sound super conceited or anything. I just wasn't popular enough or something. But with you, Ominis, it's different. It's like you want to know every little thing about me."
"I do," he nods.
"But... why? It's not like we have a lot in common."
"Maybe not, but I think that's why I'm so interested in learning. Because there is so much I still don't know," he shrugs.
Just then, you hear the chime of a clock from down the hall, and Ominis' expression changes. "How long have we been here?" he asks. "Is it past curfew already?"
"I think so," you laugh quietly. "We should probably be heading back."
"I'll walk you to your dorm."
A/N: IDK if it matters that I include pictures to you but I just thought I'd start sharing some stuff. I've been using bing image creator to help myself visualize what I'm writing about and I think it's really cool so I figured I'd add it on at the end. Let me know what you think of this idea :)
— draco's pov
ever since I got with Paris, pansyʼs sister y/n had been avoiding me. I don't know why she doesn't sit with me during lunch, hang out with me in my dorm, or anywhere that she's alone with me.
My heart aches that she wasn't acknowledge my exsistance for a whole month I was determined to know why. I had two suspicious one ; she's probably VERY busy, two ; she doesn't wanna be my friend anymore.
I hope she's just busy, I hope that she wasn't tired of being my friend, if the problem was our friendship, what did she do or I do?
I need to know.
— third person pov
Y/n sat down to her *now* usual spot, away from every other slytherin especially draco, she had been carrying the regret every single day since draco and Paris got together. Seeing them happy makes her go crazy
She wanted to go to Paris and slap her freckled face so hard. And take draco away from her.
But she couldn't do that no..no..no. She could get in so much trouble, especially with pansy since she's her bestfriend, and y/n wanted draco to be happy with his *blegh-* girlfriend.
Everyone was almost done with breakfast, as usual she ran as quick as she could from the great hall to avoid bumping in draco, usually her routine worked but now it didn't.
Draco saw her leave the great hall in a rush, so he excused himself and followed her.
— draco's pov
I'm gonna be honest, parisʼs and iʼs relationship seems to be a phase, we were slowly falling out of love and I've seen her flirt with other guys, I don't mind though. I don't care anymore, my only mind was y/n.
Speaking of y/n I saw her rushing out of the great hall, so I excused my self and followed her.
it was my chance, she was cornered.
she panicked as she saw a wall, she turned around and immediately saw me, I threw her one of my famous smug smirks and walked forward to her.
“y/n.”
“m-malfoy.” she stuttered, “why have you been ignoring me eh?” I asked, I intended it to be gentle, but somehow it came aggressive.
“am not.”
“you are.”
“Okay, fine maybe I was.” she admitted.
“hah! I knew it!” I smiled, but it slowly fadded when I realised that she was ignoring me. “wait..why are you ignoring me y/n/n..?”my voice became small and weak.
I didn't care if anyone ignored me, but if that anyone is y/n.. I will do anything to make her NOT ignore me.
“b-because... Because...” She looked panicked.
“because what? Is it because of me isn't it?, what did I do? your my bestfriend y/n what did I do to you for you to ignore me for a month?.. I thought we had eachothers backs.. ”
“D-dray no, that's not it..” She looked so ashamed. “then what is it? Please tell me so I could fix it.” I pleaded holding her hands and squeezing them lightly. “because, I love you draco.”
She loves me?
“i loved you since I met you, and I still do. It hurts seeing you and Paris get along... You are so happy with her, and I can't ruin that... I wish I never suggested for you to ask Paris out..” She finally confessed tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Y/n/n, is that why?...” I held her close... “yes, and we shouldn't be doing this, you comforting me or— whatever.” she suddenly pulled away, “draco, you have a girlfriend... please-” she tried to reason and walk away, but this time i stopped her.
“y/n, listen to me.. I don't love Paris anymore, Me and her aren't dating anymore, we both made it clear since we thought it was best to be friends. Your the one who I want, you are the only one for me.” I pulled her into a hug and held her lovingly.
“you l-love me?” she asked shyly, I chuckled at her face “yes, I love you with all my heart.”
FOR THE HOPE OF IT ALL
Pt Chapter 4: Twin Flame
I wake up feeling full of energy. This is the first night in some days where I have actually gotten eight hours of good sleep. I still feel fiery after my conversation with Sebastian in the Undercroft, but most of all I feel powerful in a way I haven't before. Like I have so many options to explore and none are written in stone. Before, everything felt so crystal clear with him but now I'm unsure. And frankly, it's quite relaxing to know that whatever is meant to be, will be.
The autumn sun is making itself noticed, making the entire castle have a warm glow inside. This would be the perfect day to play quidditch, but of course the try-outs haven't even taken place yet. Since I woke up early I decide to head outside before my morning class in potions. The sun is warming my face and the entire castle is surrounded by yellow leaves. The air is crisp and fresh, making me feel warm inside. I walk down to the boathouse since I think the view over the Black Lake is incredible from there.
The sun is making the lake glitter and there are yellow leaves as far as my eyes can see. It's absolutely beautiful and I wish I could just get on my broom and fly until I have seen every single tree, but this will have to wait since my time is rather limited. I notice someone sitting on the dock, swinging their feet above the water. As I walk closer I recognize the Slytherin robe as well as the hair. It looks like Anne.
''Anne?'' I ask and the person turns around. Very correctly, it's Anne.
''Oh, hi Y/n,'' she says in a soft voice. ''You're out early.''
''I could say the same for you,'' I reply as I sit down next to her, stunned by the view.
''I'm just trying to get as much out of Hogwarts as possible,'' she says whilst looking down at her swinging feet. ''You know, since I missed so much.''
''The feeling is mutual,'' I say and look at her with a smile.
''Yeah, I can only imagine how much you must feel like you missed,'' she gives me a kind smile.
We sit, looking at the sun and the lake together. For some time we are silent, which oddly enough doesn't feel uncomfortable at all. Sometimes it's weird to sit in silence with someone you barely know, but with Anne it feels natural. After all, we have been through some bad things together. Even if we barely knew each other, lots of our pain was mutual.
''The pain,'' I begin to ask her. ''Is it bearable?''
Anne gives me a disappointed face.
''Unfortunately it's not,'' she says with a sad smile on her face. ''But I'm going to live with this for the rest of my life and I don't want to let everything go to waste because of it. I must try to make the most out of life.''
''That's very strong of you,'' I tell her sincerely. ''You have been through more pain than one should experience in a lifetime. I really admire you for coming back.''
She gives me a kind smile. Her face looks pale with massive bags under her eyes. Just like all the other times I've seen her. She looks so exhausted, but she still continues to make the most out of her life. I find it really admirable.
''Thank you Y/n,'' she says with a sincere voice. ''That's really kind of you to say. I really see why Sebastian is so fond of you.''
I feel my cheeks flushing slightly, but I quickly try my very best to collect myself to not let my feelings get the best of me. Anne stands up and starts walking away. I sit a bit longer, taking in the view and the crisp air. Eventually, I have been at the lake for so long that I don't have time for breakfast before class. But even though I'm on an empty stomach, I feel more energized than I have in a long time.
I sit down next to Garreth, who has been my companion in potions ever since the time we brewed amortentia together. He's funny and always lightens my mood. As soon as I step foot in the classroom he greets me and I pretend to head over to a different seat, just to pull a joke on him. He, however, is not as pleased when I come back to the seat next to him.
''If you can find something better, I suggest you go,'' he says in a forced upset voice.
''Oh, don't be silly Garreth,'' I tell him with a cheeky smile. ''You know there is no better seat in this class except for the one next to you.''
''Don't make me blush,'' he says whilst rolling his eyes. ''I mean, obviously this is the best seat. But you don't have to make a big deal out of it.''
''Me?'' I ask. ''I would never.''
As we sit there, laughing together I notice Sebastian walking in. Our eyes meet, but he quickly looks away when he sees my smile from talking to Garreth. This might be the first time he has ever broken our eye contact like this, which is why I notice it. However, I don't let it affect my conversation with Garreth.
After class, Garreth follows me out. I notice Sebastian looking uncomfortable, but now that we're friends he will simply have to accept that he will see me enjoying myself in the company of other people than him. We walk through the courtyard and Garreth's hair looks as if it's on fire in the sunlight and his green eyes are sparkling. I never really paid much attention to his looks before, but he is actually fairly attractive.
''Oh, Y/n,'' he says as we walk past a group of other students.
''Yes?'' I reply.
''Could I maybe,'' he suddenly seems shy, which is odd since he's normally so outgoing. ''Could I take you for a butterbeer or two this weekend?''
His question baffles me. I'm unsure whether he wants to go as friends, or if it's a date. A year ago I would have been convinced it was a friendly activity, but after Sebastian convinced me that butterbeer was romantic, I feel unsure. But no matter what Garreth's intentions are, I'm looking forward to it.
''Only if I can take you to Hogsmeade on my broom,'' I joke, but I am in fact dead serious.
He looks terrified, but lights up after what seems like he had second thoughts.
''It's a date,'' he says in a firm tone before he turns around and walks away.
I'm smiling to myself, feeling both ecstatic and nervous after what just happened. And I can't believe I'm going on a date with Garreth Weasley. Ominis interrupts my moment of joy for myself.
''Did I just hear you agree to a date with Garreth Weasley?'' he asks curiously.
''You did, indeed,'' I tell him in a proud voice.
''Good for you,'' Ominis says in a sincere voice.
Of course Ominis was very much aware of the fact that I still had feelings for Sebastian. After all, I hesitated for way too long when he asked me if I was over Sebastian.
''Ominis?'' I ask him. He looks at me as if he's waiting for me to go on. ''Would you consider going for a butterbeer to be a friendly or romantic activity?''
''That depends,'' he says and laughs. ''I mean, if you and I were to go for a butterbeer it would be strictly friendly. But for you and Sebastian? Or you and Garreth, it's romantic. I guess it all just comes down to the person you're doing it with.''
I nod and think I understand what he means. I was thinking the same way, but I needed some clarity.
''You should ask Imelda to go for a butterbeer,'' I tell him and his cheeks flush.
I spend the afternoon in the library. Not because I read particularly much, but because I felt like it. I find a divination book called Spiritual Connections and it caught my attention right away, so I grab it and sit down in a corner. I skip through the pages, but I go back since something caught my eye. Twin flame.
Twin flames
Twin flames, or mirror soul, is a phenomenon that no wizard or witch have ever been able to confirm actually exists. The fundamental idea is that one soul has split into two different bodies and when the bodies find each other, the soul becomes complete.
The twin flame is known for showing each other your deepest, darkest fears and your insecurities. But also hope, love and healing. When the two bodies meet, they will feel as if they've known each other before. Furthermore, from the moment they meet they will feel constantly drawn to each other. These relationships are known to be very intense since you have such a deep, spiritual connection. And when you meet them, you know.
However, no twin flame relationship is ever easy. They are destined to make you face challenges and make you become better. There will be times where the relationship is being tested, as your fears and insecurities are starting to overflow. In some connections, this will be the part where the mirror souls commit to each other completely, but in most cases there will be a separation. In this phase, there is always one soul that walks away. And one must chase the other. It's almost as if these relationships are defined by a pushing and a pulling force.
After the separation, the flames will surrender and accept their fate. This is where you accept each other and yourselves. And only then can you allow yourself to come home.
Twin flame relationships are often very intense and turbulent, which is often very overwhelming. It is important to know that these kinds of connections are not always meant to be together.
I shut the book close. This hit too close to home. Despite the book stating very clearly that there is no proofs that these connections exist, I immediately think about Sebastian. The back and forth. The almost magnetic force making me feel drawn to him. And the separation, where one chases the other.
I spend the entire evening thinking about twin flame connections, consumed in thoughts and desperate to learn more. Divination was never my favourite subject, but I always liked the way Professor Onai spoke about it. Maybe I could ask her for more information. However, I'm not her favorite student after everything that happened with Natty during my first year. Nonetheless, I decide to talk to her soon.
(Can We Be Friends)
(Can we be friends)
A/N: Hi everyone, this is the first time I've ever posted on here so we'll see how this goes. This is my first chapter of a series I'm tentatively calling (Can We Be Friends), that is subject to change though (please don't expect anything concrete from this, I'm kinda just feeling it out). It will be an enemies to friends to lovers kinda deal with Sirius, if I decide to finish it. Any feedback is appreciated, even if you just hated it... that's fine. I hope you enjoy it though.
Warnings: Heavy use of Y/n (maybe it's a crutch maybe it’s Mabeline), bad grammar perhaps.
Chapter One
Her blood was pumping, her palms were sweaty, and her heart felt like it was going to jump right out of her chest as she barreled down the staircase towards the gryffindor common room. Still her feet carried away from the girls dormitories and into the common room, where she went careening over the back of one of the plush, red velvet couches.
“Goddamnit.” She muttered, pushing herself off the floor
“Y/n L/n!” The girl pursuing her shouted as she rounded the second set of stairs.
Lily Evans and Y/n L/n had been friends since their first year at hogwarts. The two had made fast friends on the train ride down, and despite being sorted into two different houses, a close friendship had blossomed between them over their years attending together. They were practically joint at the hip going into their seventh year, but that did not exempt them from some petty squabbles here and there.
“There you are!” Lily announced as she reached the base of the staircase. Y/n ducked behind the couch, hoping to earn a few more seconds to plan her escape. “You can’t hide from me” Lily says, wretching away the pillow Y/n had been using to cover her head “You aren’t invisible just because you stay still.” The redhead added, giving her victim an unimpressed look. Y/n peaked up at her, giving her a coy smile, hoping that would earn her a shred of sympathy… it did not. “Jumper. Now.” Lilly demanded, holding out her hand.
It all started the day prior, both Lily and Y/n had been invited to a party celebrating the start of a new year at Hogwarts. This was commonplace amongst the houses, however this year was different. Instead of the typical house separated parties that would take place scattered throughout the week, each of the house's seventh years had agreed to host one large event in one of the rooms of requirement. In previous years the two had had no problems getting into the parties held in the gryffindor and slytherin common rooms, each of the girls would simply bring the other; attending the parties for arguably the two liveliest houses would prove enough excitement for them and they wouldn’t bother trying to get into the other two. This year though, both had been approached respectively by a very eager James Potter excitedly begging them to come to the ‘craziest welcome party Hogwarts had ever seen’. And though Lily had spent years shooting the bespectacled boy down, he seemed to be growing on her, and as such she acquiesced to him and both girls agreed to come.
This was not where the issue lied.
No. It wasn’t as simple as that. For years Y/n had remained the quiet girl at the back of her classes, never drawing attention, never under the spotlight, content to watch her it-girl best friend soak up all the shine. Lily Evans, for one, was tired of it.
“Y/n, you cannot wear a jumper to a party, what are you? My chaperone?” Lily had been begging her to try on a short, deep blue dress she had brought from home. “I don't know Lils, I’m just more comfortable like this” She said motioning to her jean shorts and comfortable slytherin jumper. “Would it kill you to step out of your comfort zone just this once?” Lily asked, clearly exasperated but with no intention of giving up the fight that easily. Y/n dropped her shoulders and she glanced the full length mirror in the corner of the room, “I don’t know, I think I’ll look silly” she said, turning back to her friend “you should wear it, I bet it would look great on you” she added, waving her hand the direction of the other girl before dropping back onto her bed. “I already have a dress” She stated, turning to her closet and pulling out a red dress that looked fit to cling to every curve and dip on her body. “Wow” Y/n gasped, her eyes going a bit wide “I guess James really did grow on you, huh?”. Lily then hurled a hanger at Y/n’s head. She ducked out of the way, managing to miss the blow it dealt instead to the post of her bedframe, “not. Funny.” Lily said, turning to the mirror and holding the dress against herself. Y/n moved to pick up the blue dress that had been laid over the edge of the bed. It had a similar cut to Lily’s but with a little more structure, the deep blue fabric shimmered in the light as he rubbed the fabric between her fingers, contemplating even attempting to try it on just to appease her best friend. “If you would just put it on, I think you’d see the vision” Lily interrupted her thoughts. “Yeah alright, anything to get you off my back” Y/n teased before heading to the bathroom to change.
When she returned Lily was busy fixing her makeup in the small mirror on her desk. “Ready to go?” she asked, not bothering to look up at the other girl. “Yep! All set, ready whenever you are” She replied, packing her stuff up a bit too quickly for Lily’s liking. Just as Y/n was at the door Lily looked up to find that, to her horror, she had slipped her jumper back on over the dress, nearly hiding all the glimmering material beneath it. Her eyes went wide as she made to go after the shyer girl, but she bolted before she could get ahold of her. “Y/n you cannot go like that!” She said, throwing her door open and running after the girl, “it’s sacrilege!”
Now they were here, Lily standing above Y/n demanding she remove the offending article of clothing. Lest she suffer the wrath of the gryffindor, Y/n shrugged the material over her head and slapped it into Lily’s awaiting hand. She tucked it under her arm and held her hands out to help the girl on the floor. “You look stunning Y/n/n” She said with fondness in her eyes. She  only shrugged in response. “Though we’ll have to do something about those shoes” She giggled, as y/n stared down at her beat up old converse.”That we can agree on” She said laughing along.
The party was in full swing by the time Y/n and Lily arrived. The room of requirement was decorated with glowing orbs of light floating through the air and sparkling decor. It was beautiful by all accounts, however any appreciation for the setting was lost when the atmosphere hit them. Music blasted around the room and people gathered in the center dancing or awkwardly swaying next to one another, some sat on couches on the outskirts of the rooms talking and laughing amongst themselves. Others, the more reserved of the bunch, stood against the walls and took in their surroundings. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and most looked happy to be back in the place so many considered home. Lily and y/n surveyed the room, looking for anyone they knew well enough to approach. But before they could make selection, hands on either of their shoulders pulled them into a panic.
“You made it!” The booming voice of one James Potter assaulted their eardrums.
“James!” Lily said, turning to the boy with what seemed like a genuine smile, y/n gave her quizzical look as she turned to face them, but Lily didn't seem to notice. Too enthralled in her conversation with the head boy. “I’m so glad you decided to show” he said, clearly directing the initial statement at the redhead, “you too y/n.” he added shortly after with his usual grin.
It was no secret that James and his friends had been wary of Y/n in the beginning. She was slytherin afterall, and friends with Severus Snape in their early years. It was actually Y/n who had introduced Lily and Severus way back when. Even when Lily began to distance herself from him and started spending more time with her fellow Gryffindors, including James and his crew, Y/n had tried to remain a friend to him. However, after a particularly nasty argument early in their sixth year, the two had parted ways and refused to speak since. After that the Gryffindors seemed much more willing to accept Y/n into their group, albeit not as wholly as Lily.
“Lily! Y/n!” a voice shouted from behind them causing them all to look over their shoulders to see none other than Sirius Black waving excitedly with Peter Pettigrew in toe. Y/n lifted her hand in a small shy waving, throwing the boy a quick smile before looking at her best friend. Lily gave her a knowing look before greeting the raven haired boy. “I didn’t think the two of you would show” He said as he reached them, “but here you are, and look at you” He said. Giving both girls a once over, causing James to throw an arm around Lily’s shoulder “watch it pads” he said, still keeping a light tone, obviously not taking Sirius’ comment too seriously. “Who said I was talking about Evans” Sirius quipped, throwing a wink in y/n's direction. Causing her to have to work double time to fight the blush that threatened to creep up her cheeks every time he was around.
She didn’t know when it started, but it was made abundantly clear during the last week of last school year that Y/n had a crush on Sirius Black. It wasn’t hard to tell if you really paid attention, but that was her advantage, as long as there was someone else around, no one paid attention to Y/n L/n. She could simply hide in the background and never have to confront the feelings she harbored for the oldest Black brother.
The event that had made it clear to her that she had feelings for the boy occurred during a study session in the library. James and Sirius had somehow convinced Lily and Y/n to help them with their final essays for muggle studies. She couldn't remember how exactly they’d been roped into it, but seeing as Lily had already begun to give into James' endless pursuit of her, she assumed it wasn’t all that difficult.
The four of them were seated at a small table in the library as Y/n attempted to explain the importance of muggle holidays to Sirius.
“I don't get it” he said, giving her a look of genuine confusion. “There’s a bunny… and it lays eggs…?” She nodded. “... And this all has something to do with God?” She laughed at that before responding “You’ve got it” He dropped his head to the table with an exaggerated sigh. “No, Y/n/n. I don't, I'm going to fail.” He wailed. She placed her hand atop his, “you won’t fail Sirius I promise.” She said as he looked up her doe eyed “Look, you’re almost done” She assured him. The essay was almost finished, and good thing too because Lily and James looked as if they were ready to abandon them any minute, having finished James' essay more than a half hour ago. He’d showed up with a half finished essay, clearly not needing the help, anything to be closer to Lily she guessed.
After another thirty minutes of explaining the ins and outs of Halloween to the boy, Sirius had a finished 19 inch essay and Y/n had a headache. “Brilliant!” he shouted, rolling up the parchment after allowing the ink to dry. “Finally” Lily sighed as she stood and stretched her arms over her head. James looked up at her, the typical melancholic expression he got when she left him spread over his face. “Yes, Evans. You’re free to go.” Sirius teased as he moved around the table. “Thank God” Y/n said as she stood and rolled her neck, paying little attention to just how close he had gotten, as she turned to grab her book bag she nearly walked face first into the boy's chest. Before she could collide with him however he wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pulling her into a tight hug and swaying back and forth a few times. “Oh thank you, Y/n/n” he cooed, as she stiffened from the sudden affection. She placed both hands on his chest and slowly removed herself from the hug “Don’t mention it, Black” she said, laughing a little awkwardly as she tried to hide the heat crawling up her neck “it was easy really”. “Right” He retorted, sarcasm dripping from his voice “and that's why it took you so long” he grabbed her bag before she could get to it and slung it over his shoulder. “It took me so long..” She corrected, reaching a hand out to take her bag from him, only for him to lean back, effectively moving his shoulder out of her reach. “Because getting anything through that thick skull of yours is like rocket science”. Like the petulant child she knew him to be, Sirius stuck out his bottom lip in a faux pout that wore on her nerves like a cheese grater, “always so mean to me y/n/n”. She rolled her eyes at that “as if you're all kindness and sunshine”. Just as the raven haired boy opened his mouth in reply Lily cut in “If you two are done, we’ll be off to bed”. She motioned at her friend, implying that she would be walking her back to the dungeons as she often did when the two hung out. “You two go ahead, I’ll take the snake back to its pit” said Sirius, smirking as though he’d just created a novel comparison. “Why would you- Ow!” James was once again cut off as Lily jammed her elbow into his side. “Okay” she said simply, gathering her things and making for exit, yanking a very confused, albeit elated, James along with her.
The walk to the slytherin dorms was oddly pleasant, typically y/n was overly annoyed by the endless stream of chatter that flowed from the boy beside her. But tonight it seemed that she didn’t mind all that much. He was going on and on about some muggle music, it was kind of charming watching him talk so passionately about something. She knew about most of it already and wasn’t nearly as fascinated by it as he was, the way he talked about it reminded her of when she’d first learned about magic. She couldn’t quite remember how the conversation started, and at first she simply nodded along with him until he mentioned one of her favorite bands that she’d had the pleasure of seeing live. He’d made her recount the entire set list and tell him which one she thought had sounded best live. Every once in a while she would glance over at him, only to find that he was already watching her, eagerly awaiting her next words. She supposes it was in one of those fleeting moments of eye contact that she put two and two together. The quickening of her pulse, the blush rising in her cheeks, oh good lord. She had a crush on Sirius Black.
