snippet sunday
i have many half written beginnings of ideas that i may or may not come back to so why not share them on a wip/snippet sharing post?
“Your boy is calling.”
Ronan sat up on the couch just in time to catch his phone from Hennessy tossing it to him. He answered the call immediately.
“Hey.”
Hennessy threw a pillow at him, whacking him in the head. Ronan grabbed it and threw it back at her, getting up to duck out of the room. They were in Ronan’s new apartment, Ronan and Adam’s new apartment starting tomorrow when Adam moved out of the dorms. It was the end of the school year and Adam was transferring to Georgetown in the fall.
“Hey.” Adam’s voice always seemed to warm him up. There was a lot of noise on the other end.
“What’s happening over there?”
A puff of air blew into the phone. “Party. Finals are over. Everyone’s door is open on my floor and they dumped all their leftover alcohol in this big plastic storage bin and they’ve been passing it around.”
“Nice.”
“Yeah, it’s really not that bad.”
“You’re drinking that toxic waste? That’s hardcore, Parrish.”
“Yeah, well…” Ronan could hear the sound of a door shutting and the cacophony of dorm room celebration became muffled. “They don’t really take no for an answer. I’m hiding in my room trying to pack. What were you doing?”
Now that he could really hear him, Ronan picked up on Adam’s accent, in full swing, dropping the ends of words, melodic in its cadence, dipping low and swaying up high. There were only a few times when Adam would let his Henrietta accent back in. When he was very tired, which was possible since he had just worked his ass off with exams. When he was alone with Ronan or close friends, because he didn’t try to hide it from those he trusted. Or on the very rare occasion that he was under the influence. Ronan got him high once and could barely even understand Adam, he was too turned on to try and decipher whatever he was saying.
Adam rarely drank, so Ronan rarely received any drunk texts or calls. Ronan didn’t really drink either anymore. For Adam’s birthday last year, Gansey, Henry, and Blue came to the Barns and they had a big barbeque, fire pit, and Ronan fixed up a dreamt projector to show some shitty action movies on the side of the long barn. Ronan drank a little, Adam drank a little more. He was tipsy at best, but ended up falling asleep in Ronan’s lap in front of everyone by the end of the night.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing?”
Ronan bit back a smile at the dropped ‘g’. “Just hanging out with Hennessy. Why’d you call?”
“I don’t know.” A pause… and then, “just missed you.”
Ronan bit back a smile. “Missed me, huh?”
“Yeah.”
“You a little tipsy there?”
“No,” Adam answered too fast, as if his voice wasn’t incriminating enough.

Live A Little (Love A Lot)
some silly Bronan platonic bonding and bickering in honor of valentine's day, cuz they're just so much fun and i love them | Bronan | Gen | 3k | Banter | Fluff & Humor | Platonic Kisses | (also on AO3)
Blue wasn’t quite sure how she ended up alone at Monmouth Manufacturing with Ronan. Gansey was at a family function—a political function, rather, that happened to involve his family, and thus required his presence to complete the pretty picture—and Adam wouldn’t be back from his factory shift for another twenty minutes or so. She had a feeling that Noah might have been here at some point, but after his sacrifice and Cabeswater’s reconstitution of Gansey, their ability to keep track of him in their minds and their memories was a little hit or miss.
However it had started, now it was just Blue cross-legged on Gansey’s bed, being nosy and going through all the books he had stacked up on the floor beside it in a tower tall enough to act as a nightstand for yet more books, and Ronan, sprawled out on the main strip of miniature Henrietta and tossing bits of potato chip into the air for Chainsaw to swoop for. Half the time, she was too late to catch them and the bits fell back down to hit him in the face. He didn’t seem to mind much.
It was a drowsy, boring, waiting type of afternoon, but it was kind of nice too. Out of all her boys, Ronan was the one she’d spent the least amount of time with, and she wasn’t entirely sure she’d ever spent more than a few minutes with only him. Being trapped in a frightening mystical underground cavern in the dark together and tormented by images of their dead and potentially soon-to-be-dead loved ones, she thought, didn’t count.
She put down Rhiannon: An Inquiry into the Origins of the First and Third Branches of the Mabinogi and picked up Mysterious Creatures: A Guide to Cryptozoology next. It had a candy bar wrapper stuffed in it as a bookmark, about thirty pages from the end. There had been ten books stacked on top of it. Blue wondered if Gansey remembered or had even noticed that he hadn’t gotten around to those last thirty pages. Probably not.
“Hey, maggot.”
A few months ago, this might have ruined her good mood. Now she just turned to the entry on Sasquatch—Gansey had doodled several footprints of varying sizes in the margins here—and said, “I’m not dignifying that by answering to it.”
“You just did, moron. Hey, would you date me?”
Blue put the book down. “Come again?”
Ronan had not unsprawled from downtown, one foot planted on Magnolia Drive so that his crooked knee towered over the drug store with the old-timey striped awning, the other elbow jutting out between the public library and the less respectable of Henrietta’s two Denny’s. Chainsaw seemed to have realized where all the chip bits were coming from. She’d stolen the bag right out of Ronan’s hand and was pecking covetously through its contents a few crossroads away. Ronan had to crane his head back, pale throat bared, to look at Blue upside down.
“Noah said you said you’d go out with him—” Well, that at least confirmed her suspicion about how they’d ended up in this position, though it smarted that Ronan seemed to remember something that she didn’t. “—you know, if he was alive and shit. What about me?”
“You are alive. And shit.”
“No duh, dumbass. I meant, would you go out with me? If I asked?”
Blue blinked at him. “Ronan, you don’t want to go out with me.”
Ronan’s eye roll was impressive in its thoroughness. “Yeah, yeah, but, you know. If I did.”
For a moment, Blue was stymied, both by the question itself and by the fact that Ronan had asked it. It struck her as nonsensical in a way that none of their wild, mind-bending, magical shenanigans ever had. Then she looked at Ronan again—at the sharp and graceful hooks of his elaborate tattoo, at the artfully distressed jeans that she knew he bought that way on purpose rather than letting them get ripped up organically, at the way he lounged like he was just waiting for somebody to paint him like one of their french girls. She narrowed her eyes at him.
“Is this a pride thing?”
Ronan grinned, sharp and unrepentant; she had him pegged and he seemed to like that. “Gotta make sure the chicks dig me.”
“Even if you don’t dig ‘em back?”
“Especially when I don’t dig ‘em back.”
Blue huffed. A piece of unruly hair, escaped from its clip, bounced haphazardly in front of her face. She ignored it in favor of grabbing another one of Gansey’s books without looking at its title. “Well, I am not a chick—” Her tone made very clear how unfeminist she considered the term to be. “—and I’m not dignifying that question with a response either.”
“Oh, come on.”
Ronan dragged out the last syllable for a day and a half. Maybe two days. There was a whole Daylight Saving’s Time trapped inside that syllable. He finally rolled himself out of the road to sit up, startling Chainsaw into flight and nearly knocking the painstakingly crafted popsicle stick awning off the drug store, just so he could make an entreating face at her. She ignored that too.
“You said you’d date Noah!” he whined. “You dated Parrish! You’re all up on Gansey’s d—”
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence, Ronan Lynch.”
“And now Cheng too!” Ronan scoffed spectacularly. “Not to be confused with Cheng Two, though at the rate you’re going—”
Blue snapped her book closed and said, “Quit being a shitbag, Lynch. I don’t date shitbags regardless of their sexuality.”
Ronan made a very put-upon noise, like she was being unreasonable about the whole thing and horribly unfair to boot. “If I was attracted to women, and neither of us was dating anybody else who would object, and I asked you out. Would you say yes? That’s all I’m asking!”
“You really want to know?”
Ronan frowned stubbornly at her in response. It wasn’t an angry kind of frown, though. She was very used to Ronan’s angry frowns, and his angry glares, and his angry smiles, and pretty much every other kind of angry expression, seeing as anger was his default emotion. This one looked more petulant than anything. Grumpy in a challenging kind of way, like a goat getting ready to butt heads, or like one of the toddlers that frequented 300 Fox Way when they wanted to stay up past bedtime and had a whole argument ready to present in favor of the idea and were just begging for somebody to try and tell them they shouldn’t.
This wasn’t an angry or upset Ronan, Blue realized. This was Ronan in a good mood. He was having fun arguing with her like this.
She bit down on a smile. “You really want to know?” She dragged out the word for a whole ‘nothing Daylight Saving’s Time.
Ronan picked up a stray chip and threw it in her direction. It bounced off her knee and fell down behind Gansey’s pillow. “Why would I ask a question if I didn’t want to know the answer, huh? Stupid.”
Blue put the book she’d been pretending to read back on its precarious tower—several books shorter now than it had been before she’d gotten nosy—and stood, hands on her hips. “Come on, then,” she said brusquely. “Get up.”
Ronan blinked up at her, taken aback. “What for?”
“I like to make informed decisions. Up! Let me get a look at you.”
For a second, she thought he might object to the idea of being examined and evaluated like livestock, but then another grin bloomed on his face, every bit as sharp and unrepentant as the last. He stood with the coiled grace of a pit viper ready to strike. His arms, bared by his black tank top, were impressively muscled, and his tattoo flirted over the edge of his solid shoulders. His thumbs found his belt loops, jeans low slung and hips jutting forward. His eyes really were some of the bluest Blue had ever seen, rivaled only by his own brothers. He was all sharp angles and contrast, danger and insouciance, like a cat on a tightrope casually licking its claws.
In short, he looked good, and it was obvious he knew it. Nobody adored a Lynch like a Lynch.
Blue kept her face impassive, lips pursed. She took her time circling him. He didn’t turn his head to watch her, content, apparently, to let her survey him from every angle. There was a smirk on his lips by the time she came back around to stand in front of him.
“So?” he asked, a laugh in his tone. Like he knew what her answer would be. Like he’d already won. “What’s the verdict?”
Blue hummed thoughtfully. “No.”
Ronan lost his smirk. “What?” His voice had jumped up at least half an octave, like he’d been shocked into forgetting it was supposed to be low and gruff and sexy.
“No,” Blue said again, breezily. “I wouldn’t date you. Sorry.”
There was a moment of silence while Ronan recalibrated. She’d never seen him speechless before, but she had really and truly caught him off guard. As his mouth opened and closed without any words coming out, Blue thought he might actually be a little hurt.
Finally, he said, “Why the fuck not? You’d date everybody else!”
Blue crossed her arms over her chest, hoping her cheeks weren’t pink, and shrugged. “Don’t feel bad about it. It’s nothing personal,” she said honestly. “It’s not because I don’t see the appeal or anything. It’s just… Well, frankly, you’re too tall for my tastes.”
Ronan scoffed at once. “Seriously?”
Blue raised an eyebrow at him. Then she dragged her eyes down to what was actually on her level, which were his pectorals, if she was standing up real straight. She didn’t even reach his clavicle. He was, quite literally, head and shoulders taller than her.
“Gansey and Henry are already bad enough,” she said. “And Adam was on thin ice back when we were together. I would break my damn neck trying to kiss you! No offense.”
“How is that not offensive? Not my fault you’re a midget.”
“Not my fault you’re the human equivalent of a telephone pole.”
“You should kiss me anyway.”
“What?” It was Blue’s turn to get squeaky with surprise.
Ronan had his smirk back, though. “I said you should kiss me anyway! You already kissed everybody else.”
Blue’s cheeks were definitely pink now, both at the reminder of the time she and Adam had ill-advisedly—AKA drunkenly—decided to finally have the kiss that had broken them up several months before, just for the sake of saying they’d done it, and at the realization that Ronan was right. What kind of cliche was she, the only girl in a group of boys, getting kissed by every one of them?
Well, almost every one.
“Ronan Lynch,” she said, indignant enough that nothing else needed to be said to make it known.
He was not shamed. “Come on, why not? I’m feeling very left out! One kiss. What, are you afraid you’ll fall desperately in love with me?”
Blue’s snort of laughter was so immediate and so strong that Ronan honestly should’ve been offended by it. He only grinned, though, and reached out to tug at the stray piece of hair in front of her face.
“Come on,” he said again. “Just one kiss. As a friend thing.”
Blue was pretty sure that wasn’t something normal friends did with each other. But, then, she was also aware that theirs was hardly a normal group of friends. She slapped his hand away and said, “A friend thing, really?”
“It’s only weird if we make it weird.”
“I think kissing my ex-boyfriend’s gay current boyfriend is weird by definition, no matter why I do it.”
Ronan’s grin widened. “Live a little, Sargent.”
There was a dare in that smile. It was the kind of smile Ronan gave to Adam that convinced Adam to tie himself to the back of the Pig and see if he could skateboard behind it like he was waterskiing because if he didn’t do it then it meant he was scared, and, if you asked Ronan, there was nothing worse than being scared. It was the kind of smile you rose to the challenge of or you risked losing Ronan Lynch’s respect, and, if you asked Blue, there was nothing worse than losing Ronan Lynch’s respect.
Blue kicked Ronan in the shin. Hard.
He yelped, as much out of surprise as from pain, and pitched forward to protect the area under attack. Blue only had to give him a little push to get him down on one knee.
“Fuckshit, maggot, what was that f—”
Blue caught his face in her hands and cut off his question with a kiss. It was a proper one, too, not one of those chaste little grandma-pecks. If Ronan Lynch wanted a kiss, then she was damn well going to give him one. There was only a split second of bafflement before he was giving back as good as he got, never one to lose or be outdone. Blue had to acknowledge, at least to herself and never ever out loud where anyone else could hear, that Adam was a lucky man.
When she was certain that the challenge had been met to everybody’s satisfaction, she pulled back to pat Ronan on the cheek. Stunned, Ronan let her get away with it.
In answer to his interrupted question, she said, “I told you you’re too tall. As nice a kiss as that was, I wasn’t about to break my neck for it. And anyway, I think I like you better like this.”
The sharklike look on his face was all the warning she had. In a split second, Ronan was on his feet again, one arm wrapped around her to keep her in place, ruffling her hair so aggressively that it sent clips ricocheting around the room. Chainsaw immediately started snatching them up and spiriting them away.
“Lynch, you asshole!”
Ronan released her with a peal of laughter. He dodged her attempt to grab him back and made good use of his significantly longer legs to book it to his bedroom, slamming the door behind him. She could still hear him laughing in there.
“Yeah, yuck it up, chucklefuck,” she yelled. “See if I ever kiss you again!”
“What’s going on here?”
Blue spun around to see Adam, bleary-eyed and grimy, paused in the entrance. She hadn’t heard the heavy door open over all the commotion. Straightening out the rumpled mess of her outfit and also, hopefully, her dignity, she said, “Your boyfriend’s cheating on you with me.”
There were several seconds where Adam tried to make sense of those words. Eventually, it seemed, he gave up. “Okay. I need a shower.”
He disappeared into the godforsaken bathroom-laundry-kitchen monstrosity. Blue huffed and threw herself back down onto Gansey’s bed. The chip Ronan had thrown at her earlier bounced out with the motion to nudge at her hand. She snatched it up, ate it, and only then remembered that it had been on the floor before it had become a projectile. Oh well. It was probably more sanitary than anything that had been prepared in that bathroom anyway.
“You lied.”
Blue spun around again, only this time it was Noah, smudgy and pale and half-there, that she found this time. He was lying on his stomach down the main strip of miniature Henrietta, poking at the drug store awning like it fascinated him. It felt, in that moment, like he’d been there the whole time.
“What d’you mean?” Blue asked him. “About what?”
“When you said you wouldn’t date Ronan if he asked. You totally would. No matter how tall he is.” He said it like a statement of fact. Like there was no doubt in his mind.
Blue stuck out her chin in defiance. “Oh yeah? Why are you so sure about that?”
Noah shrugged. “He’s one of your boys.”
Blue deflated. She made a very put-upon noise, but she could hardly argue. Not against Noah. “I guess. Don’t tell him, though. It would go straight to his head, I’d never hear the end of it.”
Noah mimed zipping up his mouth and throwing away the key. Chainsaw, returned from hiding Blue’s hairclips where no one would ever find them again, chased the motion like she thought he’d really thrown something and made a distinctly plaintive noise when she realized he hadn’t. He offered her a stray piece of cardboard in apology.
Blue settled back down into Gansey’s bed. She picked up The Welsh Kings: Warriors, Warlords And Princes and flipped to where a gas station receipt marked the day Gansey had forgotten he was reading it. The noise of the shower running was soft and soothing. Noah was humming something she was almost certain he’d learned from Ronan. Everything smelled like mint and dust and old paper.
Soon enough, she thought, Ronan would probably judge the coast clear. He’d emerge carefully, watching her for any sign that she was mad and preparing to launch another sneak attack on him. She was willing to bet he would be sharp-eyed and thrilled the entire time, delighted by the game. A sudden fondness filled her up so much she thought she might burst with it.
Noah was right. No matter how obnoxiously tall he was, no matter what a shithead he could be, no matter the nature of the relationship—Blue still loved Ronan more than words could say. How could she not? He was one of her boys.

WIP wednesday!
zombie apocalypse au let's gooooo:
He stayed with them for three days and nights. Three nights keeping watch with Ronan while his brothers slept. Three days watching their backs and trusting them to watch his, helping them scavenge for food and supplies and shelter, helping them fight through hordes of the dead. You can learn a lot about someone in three days. A lot, but not everything. Adam, his name was. Adam Parrish. “Come with us,” Ronan said on the morning of the fourth day. Adam was already packing up to leave. “I can’t.” “You’ll die on your own.” Adam shrugged. “Maybe. Maybe not.” Ronan fiddled with the leather bands lining his wrist. “I don’t understand what’s so important, given all this.” He gestured vaguely out the window, towards the deserted streets. “I have–” Adam stopped, sighed, zipped up his bag. He finally looked at Ronan for the first time since the conversation had started. “There’s something I need to do.” Ronan snorted, even though nothing about this was funny. “Jesus, Parrish, that’s such a non-fuckin’-answer.” A strange grief had already started to gnaw at him, deep inside. It was absurd and frustrating; he’d only known Adam a few days. Damn zombie apocalypse, fucking with his emotions. His eyes roved over Adam, trying to memorise every little piece of him. He let them linger on Adam’s face. There was something very set and stubborn about his jaw, and Ronan knew he couldn’t be talked or bullied into staying. Whatever he needed to do needed to be done, and it needed to be done alone. “Will you at least tell me where you’re going?” “What does it even matter?” “If it really doesn’t matter then you would just tell me.” Adam’s mouth worked a couple of times, counterpoints starting and then stopping before they ever made it out. Ronan knew, though, that the simple explanation was just that Adam didn’t trust him not to follow. “How about this,” Adam said. “Tell me which way you’re heading. I’ll catch up.” Ronan arched an eyebrow. “You’ll catch up?” “Yeah. After.” There was no cell-service. No way to get in touch if something went wrong and they had to change course. No way of either party knowing if something had happened to the other. A million and one variables stood in the way of a reunion. “Alright,” Ronan said. He held out his pinky. “So catch up.” Adam hesitated, but just for a moment. He hooked his own pinky around Ronan’s. “I will. I promise.”
hopefully i can finish this in time for halloween, that's my aim!

Chapter 1
Well that’s one way to open a chapter !!
“Don’t feminists have big muscles?” Gansey.
Ik Blue is gonna end up with Gansey eventually but seeing her fight so hard to love Adam is so :(((
Maybe I’m being presumptuous cuz I still haven’t finished the series but I think it’s messed up how Adam literally loses everything and he doesn’t even get the girl he likes :(
“Good thinking, maggot.” 😭????
NOAH
Sorry Noah can literally do anything and I’ll be screaming and crying I literally love him
Chapter 2

Ok so obviously this guy was hired to find some kind of relic that lets people take things from dreams,,,
So this guy is looking for whatever Ronan has. Although I don’t think Ronan has a relic that lets him do what he does.
DOES THAT MEAN RONAN IS THE RELIC?
I’m not being insane here right. That’s like a reasonable theory
Chapter 5
I absolutely love the descriptions in Ronan’s chapters, especially about his dreams ough
Ooo weird dream box ok
Loving the way Gansey and Ronan talk to each other it’s so funny to me
Chapter 6
Am I mean for thinking Orla is annoying. Idk I just really don’t like her
Blue is barely five feet tall,,, she really is just like me fr,,,
Blue :(
Blue is so relatable to me I love her
OK OMG Idk if it’s just me but the “it’s a wizard in a box.” “It will do your homework,” “And it’s been dating your girlfriend,” “Are you all drunk?” really reminds me of the “What’s the best way to steal a man’s wallet?” bit from Six of Crows. More evidence that the crows and gangsey (that’s what they’re called right?) would be best friends
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See are you guys picking up what I’m putting down
What does Ronan know that the others don’t,,,
Blue once again slaying

NOAH
Ronan is still mad at Gansey for,,, holding nothing against Adam?? Or treating him the same?? Not sure why Ronan’s so upset yet still helps Adam out,,,
OH?? WHAT DOES NOAH KNOW??
“It’s not my job to tell other people’s secrets.” uhhh this surely can’t end well
Chapter 10
how big is this map
“I’m not dating now.” “Except for Glendower” pffft
HAHAH
I love how Adam and Gansey are having this serious conversation meanwhile Ronan literally throws Noah out the window
I love them
Cue that one “he pushed me down the stairs!” meme
Ok so clearly a lot is happening and I have. Many thoughts. BUT. I’m ngl I’ve had this post in my drafts for a while and I’m way farther than chapter 10 but it’s kinda annoying to have to update for every chapter,,, SO
I’m still gonna update, but more of my thoughts are gonna be theories kinda and not in these super huge posts!! I’m still trying to figure out how to live-blog this series without ruining my reading experience so stay tuned 👍

once again rambling about Adam Parrish
Hi! This still belongs to my big Raven Cycle analysis, click here for the masterpost.
For most of the characters I obviously read a lot into subtext and speculate about how they're absolutely not straight, but lucky for us, we do get canon queer characters!
So let this be me talking about Adam as bi representation and also throwing in (other people's) gender headcanons. As always, please tell me your thoughts in the notes <3
c) Adam Parrish
Sadly, I cannot speculate too much about Adam’s sexuality, as he is canonically the mean, witchy (and bitchy) bisexual.
There isn’t much I can say, really. Throughout the book series he displays interest in both Blue and Ronan. And also Greenmantle, but I would like all of us to ignore that because I want to believe Adam has good taste. Blue and Ronan as his love interests are essentially seen as equal. While I would say he had already had some repressed attraction for Ronan (see: him calling the swearing melodic, black-painted poetry- you normally wouldn’t feel like that for someone who just called you a motherfucker) in book one while dating Blue. Yet it becomes very much clear that he did have romantic feelings for Blue. Yes, the two of them were doomed from the start (but still pretty cute I’d say! Until things went to shit, that is), however, Blue is not treated by the narrative as some mistake before Adam figures out he’s actually gay (looking at you judgingly here, Rainbow Rowell). Neither was Ronan a quick, silly thing to see how it would feel to kiss the same gender. That is, like, very much very obvious, through the last five books. They are boyfriends, your honor.
At this point I would also like to give a shout-out to Adam Parrish and the Crying Club (which would make for a fire band name, just saying). This little group of queer people Adam collects at uni (in Call Down The Hawk) has my whole heart and I so wish we would have seen more of them, I am forever mourning their potential of silly, reoccurring side characters. What I’m trying to say though is this: The fact that Adam builds a group of queer people around himself (another one apart from the Gangsey) proves his sexuality even more, because we all know queer people flock towards each other.
Either way, canon bisexual, we love that. Moving on.
Honorary mention to the transmasc Adam headcanon that Tumblr user @barbaricpoetic compiles especially well in a post. I personally do not follow that headcanon, like of course I do not think Blue is supposed to be written as genderfluid in the books, but somehow I believe even less in trans Adam, but either way I do agree there is a lot of strong source material to support that headcanon. Check out the original post for a lot more detail, I don’t want to plagiarize all of that here either way, but here’s two especially solid hints: First of all, he does everything to appear more masculine, like working in typically male-dominated fields and dressing accordingly to that, while orientating his behavior on Ronan and Gansey, who, ironically, do not try as hard as him. Secondly, there’s physical descriptions, Adam being a lot more “elegant” and delicate than the other (Raven) boys Blue knows, with unusual features, and “blue eyes pretty enough for a girl”. Yeah, might be a coincidence, might be solid, queer truth.
This would all make so much sense, even within the books and all, there is just one, considerably big thing, that would not add up with this in canon. Adam’s rural-conservative shitbag of a father would never use the correct name and pronouns for his ftm child.
Either way, there might still be something fun going on with his gender that defies the binaries. Why do I think so? Well, Gansey says a very interesting thing. “Henry was a boy. Adam was a─ Gansey didn’t know.” I wish he would have told us what makes them different. What is it that Adam was? A man? A demiboy? A nonbinary person? A dinosaur in disguise? Please do enlighten us, Gansey. I’m assuming it’s got something to do with Adam being more mature than Henry (he definitely is), but like with Blue and the 300 Fox Way Women, it might be a gender thing, at least you can very easily lay it out to be that way.
To conclude as I will conclude every character part, I think Adam might possibly wear a crop top (might take him a while to accept masculinity is everything you want it to be and not just a certain aesthetic standard though), but absolutely not regularly and not around strangers or his parents.

So are any of you bumfucks on this godforsaken app gonna talk about how Brazil (Declan McKenna) was written By and For Ronan Lynch or am I gonna have to do it myself let’s do this bitches
Fair warning I’m sorta really bad at analysis according to every English teacher I’ve ever had so this is a lot of me freaking out but I think it turned out ok (this took half a year)
Tumblr media
Starting off strong with Cars and Animals (Ronan’s favourite) !! Anyway the vibe I’m getting from this is like. The barns and then the He’s got eyes talks like an angel looks like me part is about the like. Greywaren vs Ronan Lynch dream vs human stuff we see in Greywaren (not super spoilery but it kinda doesn’t make sense unless u read the book lmao)
Tumblr media
I could write a whole second post as long as this one just about this line but let me unpack this because ohhh my god. First up the use of religion is so perfect for mister Lynch over here and then. IM THE FACE OF GOD IM MY FATHERS SON IS INSANE FOR HIM IM GOING SO FERAL OVER THIS HE LITERALLY IS GOD AND HES HIS FATHERS SON (“and Ronan was everything that was left: molten eyes and a smile made for war” and also The Scene in TRK where Adam goes into Ronan’s room and thinks Niall is sitting on the bed) THIS IS CANON
Tumblr media
He’s Not what u think u see he looks so mean but he just wants his little farm and for his husband to get into heaven when he dies (he’s worried about his agnostic tendencies) jk but this is 100% ab stereotypes and how Ronan doesn’t rly fit into what anyone thinks he is (the whole thing about Adam wanting to be unknowable and realizing Ronan Is Unknowable [poetry chefs kiss])
Can’t eat leather is so self explanatory. The bracelets are RIGHT THERE you can’t fool me Mr mckenna
Tumblr media
I’m done. I’m done. I don’t even need to keep explaining this it’s RIGHT THERE AGH
Tumblr media
And onto the ecoterrorism
I’m kidding (not really) bc this part always makes me think of literally the Entire Plot of TDT when Ronan is going around destroying capitalism to save dreamers. This IS the servers scene and the underwater pipeline and the Mirrors lady and also the way all of TDT is about self discovery and learning who you are and how to deal with that in a society made to destroy you and how isolating and sad that is (it gets him down 😞) and I can KEEP GOING
And just the way the song is so melancholy and also happy at once hits me so hard cause it feels like what the Barns does when you read the book like it SOUNDS like something Aurora would sing to kid Ronan it’s so homey and sweet but also sad and perfect
And obviously I don’t go through the whole song here but I feel that I’ve made my case sufficiently enough thanks for reading this far I love u mwah

Prompt: (if you are open to such)
Pynch on a hike!
A: "at least the view was worth it, it's so beautiful"
R: "not as beautiful as you are" CHEESY RONAN IT IS
HEY there, beautiful Anon! Guess who's showing up 5 months late with your ficlet??? That's right! Me! 🤦‍♀️
I'm so very sorry it took me 5 months to post this! It's cheesy and fluffy and has absolutely 0 plot ... so basically it's exactly like all the rest of my writing.
But I really hope you enjoy this short little gift! Thank you SO MUCH for leaving me a prompt, and again, I apologize for taking so long to finish it!
After Ronan insisted on taking a rest break for the fifth time in two hours, Adam had enough and bitched back.
“Lynch, I know for a fact that you can walk longer than 20 minutes at a time, even if it is uphill,” he said. “Now get your ass in gear.”
Ronan huffed, in annoyance, not from being out of shape. “I just don’t see why we have to go on a hike while you’re home on spring break. We could be doing something so much more fun at home.”
“What could be better than exploring the woods and mountains on a sunny spring day? And don’t you dare say fucking.”
“Wasn’t gonna,” Ronan sulked. “Not in the mood now, anyway.”
Adam hefted his backpack up a little snugger. “That’s a lie, Lynch. You’re always in the mood.”
“You’re right,” Ronan smirked at him. “Speaking of…”
“No way. We are finishing this hike.”
Ronan tilted his head back and let loose a string of cursing that always impressed Adam in the strangest way. Once he got it out of his system, Adam tried his best to loom over the rock where Ronan sat.
“Feel better now? Need another drink? Boots feeling all right?” he asked in a saccharine voice.
Ronan narrowed his eyes as he looked up. “These boots weren’t made for walking up a mountain all day. And yeah, I need a drink. You got anything stronger than Gatorade?”
“No. Now get your ass up and get walking.”
Ronan’s groan was at least five seconds long and loud enough to make some birds fly away from a nearby tree.
“Your objection has been noted. Move.”
Ronan’s grumbling followed him doggedly. “Don’t you need to stop and check your phone? It’s practically glued to your face these days,” he mocked at one point. “Won’t your friends be scared if they can’t reach you at any moment? If you don’t text back ASAP? Won’t your books be lonely if you don’t have your face shoved in them all damn day?”
It wasn’t quite enough to ruin Adam’s good mood. He’d thought bringing Ronan on a day-long hike would be fun, and it had started well, with a beautiful sunrise as they drove to the bottom of the hiking trail. Ronan had even cooperated with picking out snacks and drinks and agreed to carry a backpack, too.
But as the morning wore on, and the trail continued up into the woods, Ronan began to get bored. At first he tried talking to Adam, bitching and complaining, but Adam had ignored him to point out all the beauties of the forest in spring.
Then the frequent pee breaks and sitting spells began.
When Ronan plopped down on a fallen log and insisted on another break, Adam snapped.
“Why the hell are you being such a pain in the ass?”
“I hate hiking,” Ronan said sulkily, pawing through his backpack for another granola bar.
Adam ran a hand over his face and tried to calm down. “You’ve been hiking for miles all over the Blue Ridge with Gansey. And me. And Hennessy loves bitching about the time you introduced her to Lindenmere by making her hike there in her fancy outfit. We’ve explored all the land around the Barns multiple times. What is it about this hike that is turning you into such a giant whiny baby?”
“It wasn’t like this.”
“What do you mean?”
“It wasn’t,” Ronan gestured broadly around himself, “like this.”
Adam stared at him, arms crossed over his chest, and waited, but there was no further explanation offered. “So what’s so different.”
“It’s just, there was a goal in mind, before. This just feels pointless.”
Adam continued to stare at him, so Ronan tried to explain.
“With Gansey and you, it was fun, and we were hunting Glendower and all that shit. It was hiking for an adventure, to find the end of the puzzle. And Lindenmere is its own goal, so it’s not this,” he gestured at the woods again, “just walking around in circles or shit. We got to the end. It wasn’t pointless.”
“I thought,” Adam said softly, “the point was to spend the day together doing something we both enjoyed. Man, was I wrong.”
“Adam, no,” Ronan jumped up and grabbed his shoulders. “I didn’t mean it like that. I love spending time with you. You know that.”
Adam finally met his eyes and shrugged.
“I guess, I guess I just need to know where I’m going, or know that there’s something worth finding when I get there. Otherwise it’s just traipsing around the woods and getting blisters on my feet when we could be at home, in bed, finding a happy ending.”
Adam snorted despite himself. Ronan smiled a little and leaned his forehead against Adam’s.
“I guess it’s like the age-old question about whether life is about the journey or the destination. We have two very different philosophies,” Adam said.
“Don’t make this into some big psychological thing,” Ronan moaned. “I’m just tired and grumpy and my feet hurt.”
Now, that sounded more like his Ronan, and Adam knew how to motivate that.
“So, you’re saying I have to set you a goal, like a preschooler. Give you a gold star if you accomplish this task?”
“Or,” Ronan stroked down Adam’s arms and crept around his waist, “you can bribe me.”
“You seriously expect me to bribe you? What would it cost me to get you out of the house on a beautiful day that we can spend together?”
“I dunno. What’s it worth to you?” Ronan asked breathily in his ear.
“I think we’re working on different reward systems here.”
“There’s one thing you can offer.” The way Ronan tried to waggle his eyebrows in what he probably thought was seduction or playful didn’t work on Adam.
He said firmly, “No, Lynch, we’re not doing that here.”
“Why not?” Ronan was still talking heavily in his ear.
“Because that’s how you get tick bites on your dick. Do you want to get a tick attached to your dick? That’s how you get super Lyme disease.”
That pronouncement made Ronan step back and cup his hand protectively over his groin. “Seriously?”
“I don’t know, but I do know that I don’t want either of our dicks infested with ticks. Now let’s pick up the pace,” Adam glanced at his watch. “We do have somewhere to be.”
Ronan kept a low undertone of grumbling as he followed Adam up and along and down and up again.
“You know, you wouldn’t lose your breath if you shut the fuck up for a while and quit complaining,” Adam told him.
Ronan stomped along behind him in silence then.
But even Adam was feeling the strain in his legs when they got to the top of the hill that Adam was pretty sure was their destination from the sound of it.
The trail came out onto a clearing at the side of the mountain. The view out over the valley was beautiful, with a patchwork of farms and lawns and woods crisscrossed by the tiny ribbons of roads and the minuscule boxes of houses, barns and buildings.
Immediately above was a waterfall that roared from a stream coming down from the top of the mountain and swollen with melting snow pack. From where they stood, the waterfall looked like it was falling the entire way down the mountain, but was actually caught in a rocky pool below them that would let it funnel down in a creek to the valley below.
Looking out over the water into the valley was a little vertigo inducing, Adam thought, just for a minute.
He glanced up at the sky then checked behind for Ronan. “I think we got here in time. Wait until that cloud moves away from the sun.”
When it did, the sunlight hit the water and at the right angle, it created a huge rainbow arcing down the side of the mountain.
“Wow. That’s gay,” Ronan said.
“Excuse me?”
“You know what I mean. Is this what we walked all this fucking way for?”
Adam shrugged. “Yeah, but also because it’s a fun and healthy way to spend a day in nature.”
“I could’ve had more fun and more health spending it in bed.”
Adam gestured toward the idyllic picture of the valley far below them. “At least the view was worth it. It’s so beautiful.”
“Not as beautiful as you are,” Ronan said.
“Dammit, Lynch, that’s really cheesy.”
“I know. But it’s true.”
Adam side-eyed him. “You do realize that we now have to walk back down that entire mountain?”
Ronan shrugged and slung his arm around Adam’s shoulders, leaning on him heavily. “At least we’ll be together, right?”
“Oh sure. Now you’re suddenly fine with this whole hiking thing.”
“Nah, but I’m fine about spending an entire day with you. I guess it is nice, knowing that you won’t be distracted by homework or school shit or your phone. Or your little school friends.”
“I guess that’s true,” Adam said slowly, finally realizing the depth that Ronan was jealous of sharing him. He bumped his hip, hard enough to make Ronan take his own weight back. “Maybe we need more days, just the two of us together. No distractions.”
Ronan made a pfft sound that was probably disdain but Adam knew to read as agreement.
“Whatever,” Ronan said and turned his head to bite Adam’s cheek. “Now how about I pretend I’m a tick and I bite and suck you.”
“You’re such a romantic, Lynch,” Adam said, but he was already fighting with his belt as Ronan started to laugh at him. “But if I get a tick-borne illness…”
“I’ll take care of you. Promise,” Ronan said, his voice suddenly deepening.
Adam reached for him, holding his face in his hands, as he looked over the familiar, annoying, beloved face. When Ronan kissed him, it felt like a promise of something deeper and truer than an off-the-cuff joke; like many of his interactions with Ronan, pairing the obnoxious with the holy in one desirable package.
“Thanks for coming with me today,” Adam said as Ronan kissed his way down Adam’s neck.
“Thanks for spending it with me,” Ronan replied, his hands taking over on Adam’s belt. “Now shut up and enjoy the view.”
Adam did, very much.

*holds up shield* don’t throw things at me but i have actually developed nuanced opinions on AI over the past couple of months. imagine that. but this isn’t a post about those nuanced opinions! i can get into them later
this is a post where i reluctantly went to chatgpt to perform An Experiment, because if there’s one thing i love it’s writing-related data and making fun of bad writing guilt-free. and now that i’m not ideologically opposed with every atom of my body to AI i can do that!
i chose to give ai one of my older fics (from 2022), both because it was short enough for the text box and because, given all the scraping drama, ai probably already has it anyway. i was very tempted to put in something original, but i haven’t yet.
then i asked it, first, to write something mimicking that style, to….horrible results. i also asked it to write a sequel to the fic, because i had written a sequel myself. i got….interesting results from that. i have some thoughts on how ai writes, what it could be used for, and what it should almost definitely not be used for.
let’s get into it!
so, to start off, i used my raven cycle fic hostage situation. it’s not my best, being both old and written in like an hour for whumptober, but it’s not the worst.
when i asked chatgpt to mimic the style, i expected it to create something similar (this was a kidnapping with torture h/c fic, so something like that) and to do its very best to write something that sounded like a thing i would write. you know, like the ai art that puts in specific artists’ names to get something like their style.
i did not get that. maybe i would have if i had given it a more specific prompt, like, write a story about X in the style of this story, but i didn’t and i don’t really want to go back to chatgpt again, so just…shh. this was still a useful exercise, i promise!
let’s start by looking at the openings of each piece.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first of all, it chose to change the names and some more specific details, but literally nothing else. also love how it switches from ronnie (ronan?) to theo (gansey) almost immediately and there is cassie (noah) and cassie (adam).
also they made my gay fic hetero. alright.
also, this introduces a theme that we see throughout this endeavor. the ai has little to no idea what trc is or who the characters are (actually it has no idea what anything is, i shouldn’t anthropomorphize, but it doesnt have enough data to pick up on patterns like it might with, say, MCU fic). therefore, it ruins one of my favorite things about writing fic, especially for trc, and that is making dozens of subtle references that probably most other fans would even miss.
for example, right here we have references to ronan’s never-ending battle with his phone, his father’s death, and, if you squint, that One Line that goes “jesus,” gansey said, “christ.” which i have heard talked about a few times and lives in my head rent free. i’m sure no one else thinks about it that much, but it’s a very specific inflection and i love it.
the one (1) thing i will say is that “theo’s breath catches” is totally something i would write, and the ai didn’t copy it from this fic. i mean, it’s still pretty generic, but it kinda feels house style-y to me. hm.
continuing on! let’s see what the video is
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so basically it stripped out all the fun description. incredibly rude, this was my favorite part to write. again, i’m wondering if there’s something significant about changing “guy who had to be rescued” to a girl.
there’s also a lot of confusion on like, what’s happening and why on the ai’s side. it’s copying my words, but cutting a lot, so there’s no reason for, say, the villain commenting in her mental faculties—she didn’t seem disoriented before, and she hasn’t done anything now to prompt the remark. also, we “see” cassie and then the newspaper gets pulled away to “reveal” her. it’s very messy. we also don’t get cassie telling theo not to come for her, something that is pretty important in adam’s case, mr. self-sacrifice, lover of ronan.
what happens when boyfriend comes to the rescue?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sorry i’m laughing because theo is still gansey in my head and him having like, full tattoo sleeves is Sending Me.
once again, cutting out the good description and making it all generic. this part makes sense, at least, but it’s less interesting. the best parts are the dialogue and THE DIALOGUE IS MINE. verbatim.
the line “time blurs since the video, her only link to theo gone” is grammatically incorrect or at the very least clunky. idk why that got changed.
changed the lastname-firstname switch that is so very important to pynch. kay.
obviously theo isnt ronan and this technically isnt fanfic so we lose the kavinsky/matthew reference, even though that adds depth to the scene when you remember that almost exactly this thing has happened to ronan with someone he loves before, so this has to be very fraught for him.
let’s finish up with the ending!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so this part doesn’t make any sense in the EXTREMELY limited context of the ai’s story. at the very beginning, it said that one of the three has the ability to manipulate illusions (which in itself is a bit odd—shouldn’t it be create illusions? or can you only manipulate illusions that are already there? that’s not very useful), but that doesn’t have anything to do with violence. is the implication that our dear friends [checks notes] ronnie and cassie2 did this??
the implication in the original fic is that ronan used dream creatures or something similar; it’s his subconscious, not technically his own work depending on how you look at it. i don’t believe ronan would commit violence like this where adam could see (hence why he wanted adam not to look) because of adam’s history of abuse, but ronan also has a lot of anger and a lot of monsters in his head and a lot of love for adam. so.
because this is fanfic, i don’t have to spell any of that out. it just is. but in the ai’s story it doesn’t know why or how that part exists, it just copies it.
and then basic ending where the ai says the quiet/implied part out loud. boring.
it should also be noted that chatgpt generated stories only clock in at around 600 words. the three screenshots here are almost all of that generation, while my fic is almost twice as long.
so my main takeaway here, aside from “chatgpt is bad at my favorite part of fanfic” as i said, is that chatgpt can’t really effectively mimic a writing style that isn’t generic or very close to it, because of the whole “most likely word” thing. and if your style is very generic than other human people already write a lot like you and/or could mimic you very easily.
i don’t have an outside perspective on what makes my fics recognizably mine (tell me?), but i’ve had a lot of people comment on the way i describe emotions. which is cool, because i love doing that. i like implying things with body language (especially focusing on where someone is/isn’t looking) even more than directly describing what people are feeling. the ai’s style is very much about stating directly what characters feel, often to the point of redundancy, a huge pet peeve of mine.
so yeah, not uber useful for fanfic writing. tumblr photo limits prevent me from continuing with the second experiment (writing a sequel to this fic), but i’ll be back in a hot second to write that one.

I’ve had boygenius brain rot since The Record was released so let me tell you what song goes to which of the raven cycle characters.
Starting with the obvious, Ronan is SO revolution 0 are you kidding?? “i don’t wanna die / that’s a lie / but i’m afraid to get sick / i don’t know what that is” so so so Ronan. ALSO “i used to think if i just closed my eyes / i would disappear” ?? enough said. revolution 0 is questioning the world you’re in and your purpose in it and if that isn’t the epitome of Ronan Lynch idk what it.
Adam is definitely Letter To An Old Poet to me. This was a really hard choice because Adam Parrish is incredibly boygenius coded but i have evidence. “you’re not special, you’re evil / you don’t get to tell me to calm down / you made me feel like an equal / but i’m better than you / and you should know that by now” it’s Adam Parrish learning who he is and that he’s more than his background, more than what he’s been told he is by his father, the other students at aglionby, and even himself. Letter To An Old Poet makes me feel like reflecting on what used to be and realizing how much time has changed everything around me. That’s just so Adam!!
I’m not SUPER confident on this one, but Noah is Anti-Curse. First of all, Noah Czerny just seems like a Julien Baker fan idk. Also kind of obvious text evidence “making peace with my inevitable death.” now i KNOW that could also be Gansey, but hear me out. Noah knew from the beginning that he was going to be gone and leave his friends over and over again (poor guy :( ) and he still MOURNED and resisted his inevitable undoing. I feel like Gansey didn’t even actually come to terms with his death. All of the Raven King was spent searching for a solution, and even though Gansey had proof he would die, he didn’t quit searching for a solution. Noah on the other hand embodies Anti-Curse and the theme of making peace with where you are. It’s really heartbreaking honesty.
Gansey boy himself is OBVIOUSLY True Blue. I have authority on this because i AM Gansey. He’s me. Anyways, i realized Gansey was true blue when i heard the line “but it feels good to be known so well / i can’t hide from you like i hide from myself” which is also when i had the idea for this post (before taking many weeks to write it out). Additionally just think about Gansey’s relationship with his friends with this verse “you’ve never done me wrong except for that one time / that we don’t talk about / because it doesn’t matter anymore / who won the fight? / I don’t know” Gansey being so willing to do anything for his friends, and ignore any fights or disagreements just to get them to stay. True Blue embodies the longing to be seen. to be known and understood and loved in despite of people seeing. And that’s a very clear character trait of Gansey’s throughout the books.
Finally, Blue Sargent herself. She’s Satanist, which i feel might be a bit of an obvious choice but it fits. Blue makes it known where she stands on everything, is very independent, and has a lot to prove, which really suits this song. The verse “will you be an anarchist with me? / sleep in cars and kill the bourgeoisie / at least until you find out what a fake i am” says it best. Blue is so desperate to be sure of herself and achieve what she wants, but there’s so much she’s not sure of. (her principles after finding her raven boys, college, careers, their quest, etc) Satanist is a song that takes a stand so confidently while having no real intention of acting upon the decisions made. Not because it doesn’t believe in the decisions or the principles behind it, but because it doesn’t believe in itself.
Anyways that’s my interpretation of the raven cycle with special guests Boygenius!

Holita 👋 if it's not too troublesome, may I request ❣ -Cackle with Pynch? 💕
Btw, your writing is literally goals *sobs*
❣ -Cackle
There was a dull thud as the crumpled-up paper made contact with the side of his head before falling limply to the ground, having completed its mission. A couple seconds later came another one, whistling through the air as it hit his ear this time. His brow twitching slightly in annoyance, Adam continued writing, determined to get through this last essay before heading home for the night. There was no use in getting riled up and wasting the little time he had left.
Unfortunately, Ronan wasn’t a force to be ignored, and after the next paper ball came a pencil, an eraser, and finally a shoe, thudding against his arm and causing Adam’s pen to lurch haphazardly across the paper, effectively ruining his last three sentences.
He was too exhausted to be properly irritated as he turned around to glare at him finally. “Do you need something?”
Ronan shrugged noncommittally, ripping another page out of his notebook to form more projectile weapons. It wasn’t even his notebook; it was Gansey’s that he had let Ronan borrow while he was out. He had given them the apartment to study while he was out preparing for his parent’s anniversary with Helen. The plan had been that having Adam there might inspire Ronan to study as well. Thus far, those hopes were in vain.
Adam sighed with the realization that Ronan wasn’t going to be giving him a proper answer anytime soon. He tried to wrack his brain for things Ronan might want—potentially Adam had forgotten plans they had in his haste to prepare for his test tomorrow, or maybe Ronan was in a fight with Declan and needed to vent his frustration. This wasn’t angry Ronan though. He seemed more needy than anything. Clingy.
Realization struck at the same time as the next paper ball, and Adam couldn’t even find it in himself to be mad as a grin crept its way onto his face.
Ronan made a face. “Don’t tell me you’re actually that excited about our history homework. One Gansey is enough for the next lifetime.”
“You know, you could’ve just asked.”
Ronan stiffened obviously, his gaze darting quickly over to him, trying to determine if he had really figured him out that quickly.
“Asked what?”
“I’m not stupid. I know you Ronan.”
Ronan scoffed, laying back on the couch and ripping out a new piece of paper to make a small airplane. It was a failing effort, but it was clear he was distracted as he worked. “Don’t assume things you don’t know, Parrish.”
“Don’t ask for things you don’t want then, Lynch.” Adam paused. He felt daring tonight, and besides, if Ronan was going to ruin his study session, he might as well ruin his game in return. “So. Do you?”
“Do I what?” Ronan snapped, pointedly glaring at the ceiling and not him.
“Want to be tickled?”
Ronan twitched visibly like he’d been struck by some invisible force.
“Last night when we watched that movie and that scene came on—”
“Parrish.”
Ronan’s voice was sharp with warning, but Adam knew by now which lines he was allowed to cross—which lines Ronan wanted him to cross. “You were acting super weird all night and now this.”
“Parrish.”
“I thought maybe you were embarrassed for some reason, but then I started thinking. About all the other times you would annoy me until I tickled you. How you would always stop the moment I gave in, like you’d finally won. How you never protested when I did, never even tried to get away.” Adam paused, making sure Ronan’s silence was the safe kind before he continued. “I could right now, if you wanted. It’s not like I’m going to get much further into this anyway.”
Ronan tossed the airplane up and it soared lazily for a couple seconds before crashing tragically to the ground. The tips of his ears burned a bright pink, his silence deafening.
He didn’t move when Adam stood up, and he didn’t move when Adam walked over and hooked one leg over him, effectively straddling him. He didn’t resist when Adam gripped his wrists, tugging them over his head, merely grunting in unconvincing annoyance.
Still, Adam didn’t start yet. He rested his hand over his stomach, fingers twitching just slightly over the skin. Ronan tensed, inhaling sharply at even that slight touch.
“You know, I’m still gonna need to hear you say it.”
Ronan snapped his head up to look at him, narrowing his eyes. “Fuck you.”
Adam shrugged, unworried. “Or I could leave, and go do my homework somewhere else, where I can actually get some peace and quiet.” He tapped his fingers slightly, a gentle drumming motion that made Ronan’s stomach tremble under him. “So? What’s it gonna be?”
“I swear to Christ Parrish, if you don’t tickle me right fucking now, I’m gonna—”
“Close enough~”
And then everything became sensation and fingers and not enough breath as laughter fell out of Ronan in uproarious waves. Technically speaking, if he really wanted, he could’ve pulled his hands down out of Adam’s grip and ended it all right then and there, but, miraculously, he didn’t. Adam had long ago memorized all the different ways, and all the different spots, that drove Ronan up the wall, but now that he knew the other might be enjoying it—though he had always suspected, if he was being honest with himself—he found himself paying attention to the finer details. He noticed each jump and flinch as his nails dragged down his sides, the hitch in breath when he pressed his thumbs into the divot in his hips, the distinguishingly helpless smile that flickered across his face when he gently scratched his ribs.
“Good spot?” Adam teased, deciding to linger there as he traced around the edges. He couldn’t help but notice the frantic whine that entered Ronan’s voice the higher up he traveled. Blunt nails danced skillfully at the top of his ribs, just barely brushing the forbidden area under his arms. Ronan couldn’t help the full-body jerk that happened every time Adam completed his circle and fluttered over the spot once more. “Tell me not to and I won’t. All you have to do is say it.”
Perhaps stupidly, Ronan didn’t. Instead, he continued to snort and huff and resist the protests naturally bubbling up in his throat. With his silence, he doomed himself as Adam complied, digging his thumbs under his arms suddenly into that sweet spot that always had him thrashing.
Ronan threw his head back, arms slamming down at last as he burst into wild and helpless cackles. His legs jack-rabbited against the couch, nearly upending the both of them, but Adam managed to hold firm. Ronan’s energy was infectious, and Adam found himself chuckling along with him, melting a bit at the sight the other like this. There was a pureness that came with this Ronan, and Adam was glad that Ronan liked this too because he wasn’t sure he was going to be able to keep his hands off of him ever again after this.
They stayed like that for several more minutes, Adam relentlessly pursuing that one spot until Ronan was a wheezing mess and, finally, pleas started escaping him as it became too much, even for him. The tickling had short-circuited his brain it seemed, and he couldn’t stop giggling long after Adam had stopped, holding a hand over his face to hide the stupid smile and blush that lingered.
Neither of them got any studying done that night, but the sound of Ronan’s laughter was far more important than any history essay in Adam’s opinion.
-
You’re so nice to me omg thank youuuu
This ended up kinda long too because I don’t understand the meaning of the word ‘drabble’ and I’m a simp for The Raven Cycle boys. I hope you enjoy it even if it’s kinda long lol.

Am I writing a review for a book I just finished yesterday instead of waiting for weeks and by the time I get to writing I’m already done with the whole series??? Looks like it, but don’t get used to this because I know I’m going to be back to my horrible habits soon enough. In the first ever installment of “a book review written about a book a real person in my real life recommended to me” (or another much catchier title) I bring you a review of The Raven Boys.
The book brings us to the fictional town of Henrietta, Virginia (yes I did just Google if it was real, I am multiple shades of not the smartest) where we are introduced to Blue Sargent, the daughter of the town psychic, or well one of them, and she lives with her aforementioned mother, aunts, and cousin. The women of 300 Fox Way are all psychically gifted, except for Blue, who is only able to amplify their gifts but has none of her own. On the night of St. Mark’s Eve it is tradition that Blue and her mother go to an abandoned cemetery and watch the spirits of the townspeople who will die that year walk through, though Blue can’t see them this year is different, she sees the spirit of a boy named Gansey meaning he is either her true love or he dies by her hand (she’s fated to kill her true love with a kiss so, it could be both). Parallel to this, Gansey is looking for the mythical Welsh king Glendower who is prophesied to grant a wish to the person who wakes him and his search brings him, unknowingly, to Blue. Together they, as well as Gansey’s friends Ronan, Adam, and Noah, search for the ley line that runs through Henrietta in hopes it leads them to where Glendower’s body is hidden.
I’m going to be totally transparent with you all and let you know that my friend has been trying to get me to read the Raven Cycle books for a solid amount of years, probably almost as long as I’ve known them (which has been almost seven years now) but I finally caved when they said they would read the Shadow and Bone trilogy in exchange, and I can’t pass up a good deal. I was hesitant to read the book because the summary doesn’t really do it justice, and also it just didn’t appeal to me even after my friend explained it. I think it just felt a lot like something I would’ve read in middle school, but not in a fun nostalgic way, and this was most likely because I did read another of Maggie Stiefvater’s books in middle school, Shiver, and my werewolf phase is a dark past I’m not trying to remember. And I honestly had this apprehensive feeling throughout the first half of the book where I couldn’t shake that vibe of middle school negativity but I forced myself to read it and to endure because I made a deal with my friend and they were nice enough to let me borrow their copy of the book complete with the author’s autograph and my mother didn’t raise a quitter. I think this feeling was made worse because I literally couldn’t stand any of the raven boys, save for my boy Adam, and eventually Noah, throughout the whole first half which in hindsight is good writing. Stiefvater did a great job writing entitled rich boys who are horrible in their own unique ways but I actually started to like (or well, be ok with) the other two boys by the end of the book.
I think once the action of the story really got going then I actually started to enjoy it, though it is a little annoying that I had to read about half the book before anything with consequence or excitement started happening. But, then again, I’m someone who really likes more action and conflict heavy books no matter how much they trigger my anxiety so this style of book where all of the world building and setting up the conflict take up the first half of the narrative without much consequential action isn’t super my thing. That being said, once I got over that (and myself) I actually enjoyed the book quite a bit, sorry for doubting you [insert friend’s name here for privacy reasons]. I enjoyed how each of the children’s (they’re teenagers but I’m an adult so they’re children to me) back stories and life circumstances are woven into the story, that it’s not just them looking for this mythical king but also them experiencing the hardships of life while on this quest. These characters are all very real with very real problems so you can relate to them all in one way or another which definitely adds to the story so it doesn’t feel like a run of the mill fantasy story that doesn’t have any depth or humanity. The question of “don’t these kids have school?” that a lot of stories with teenage protagonists makes you ask isn’t really necessary in this book because they do have school and their plans have to be put on hold until the end of their school day on top of the plot heavily revolving around Ronan’s horrible academic behavior.
Though this isn’t my favorite book ever it definitely exceeded my expectations (which, let’s be honest, were very low and that was entirely my own doing) and I’m very excited to continue reading the series, I already got my hands on the second book (public library beloved) and I only read the prologue as of right now which is already very intriguing. I will say if you’re interested in this book I do recommend giving it a chance but you will have to power through a solid chunk of it before it really gets good but overall a very Stranger Things but for a different breed of nerds vibes out of ten.
Spoilers Below!!
There are a lot of things I want to talk about in terms of the specifics of this book that I don’t know what I want to talk about first so I’ll just go in order of least complicated to most. First, Gansey calling Blue “Jane” because he thinks her name is stupid, rude. He’s right but like, that’s her name dude, she likes it, stop being mean. Another thing that doesn’t require many words is that it isn’t really explained how so many people are just presented with this idea of magic and are cool with it. I know Adam kind of touches on him being convinced by Gansey that magic is real and so is Glendower but I feel like in our day and age (which this is supposed to be set in, just ten years ago) not many people would be on board with it. I don’t know, it might just be me, but if you told me at seventeen that you were looking for a mythical king and a ley line I would think that you’re insane and probably not talk to you very often after that. But then again this could probably just be chalked up to their version of our reality being more accepting and open to magic and I could just be overthinking it, which wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for me.
I also wanted to talk about the absolute plot twist of Noah being a ghost this whole time. I texted my friend about it as soon as I read that part and they told me it was stated right at the beginning of the book when Declan is introducing the raven boys to his newest girlfriend. I honestly didn’t remember it and so I went back and there it was, she made a comment about his hands being cold and he responded something along the lines of “I’ve been dead for seven years so that’s about as warm as they get” and then it isn’t acknowledged by literally anyone or the book itself. I think I just laughed it off as an angsty teenage boy joke but he was being serious. When Gansey and Blue found his body (which, why was it near the cemetery, did we ever address that?) I figured it would be the body of Czerny, just process of elimination, but when the ID said Noah, I was shocked. Then I thought it was like that thing where Ronan from the future wrote a note on the rock for Ronan from the past and this was going to be Noah’s future but nope, he was a ghost. I did think the ending where they dug up his bones and reburied them on the ley line was funny in a cute endearing way, especially with how Noah immediately started patting Blue’s hair.
I am going to take this moment to pour one out for my homie Adam, that boy is too pure and kind for this world and he just receives the worst end of the stick possible. First, his dad is absolutely awful, he is a scholarship kid at a rich private school which probably feels horrible, and then he likes Blue and he doesn’t even know he’s going to get his heart broken in the future because Gansey is obviously Blue’s true love. I do hope Adam is able to have a happy ending at the end of the series because that’s what he deserves, life keeps beating him up for no reason. Justice for my man Adam.
I think the thing I’m most excited to see is how the whole Blue and Gansey relationship is going to pan out, especially since she’s supposed to kill him, which sounds morbid but I know they’re going to find a loophole to keep him alive somehow and I just want to see what it is. Watch me be wrong and he just straight up dies, the end. Anyways, the moral of the story here is that you should trust your friend when they recommend a book because you’re going to like it.

Finished the Raven cycle and I had a lot of thoughts but I actually can’t remember anything that happened apart from very specific scenes???? Also I am very heavily in favour of Gansey as he is definitely my absolute favourite but the other two are quite horrible to him for a lot of the book considering 9/10 times he’s genuinely trying to help and they are aware he’s trying to help and doesn’t mean to flash the cash and I just ???? Don’t get it?? Maybe cos I am a fully developed woman in her late 20s and I would just not let someone I care about speak to me like they do sometimes no matter how upset you are, especially if I’m trying to help you and the issue isn’t my fault to start with 😂 or maybe because I relate a lot to Gansey with feeling like my friends don’t need me like I need them so maybe I’m just projecting hahahaha
Adam especially is horrible to Gansey quite a few times where I just thought he was way out of line, even including when eventually Gansey had enough and snapped at him and was horrible back and Adam was all FUCK YOU and left the car and I feel awful for thinking it but the entire time I was like ?? So you don’t like being treated this way but you treat Gansey like this a LOT especially at the start ?? Hmm. I realise this is part of adams development, and he grew on me a lot as the series progressed but in the first two books especially I couldn’t stand him 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Also so much stuff got confusing and was so fast and unexplained or like just resolved so quickly that the pacing felt a bit wild, idk how to articulate this brain dump I’m having hahahahah
On the flip side though I genuinely loved this pure portrayal of platonic love between the gangsey, especially the three main boys and their love for each other and willingness to do anything and follow each other anywhere, because I LOVE found family stories and this one satisfied that for me!!! They’re all in love!!! Yes!!!!! The scene when Gansey and ronan went to the trial made me want to shriek I was so happy, wish it hadn’t ended so abruptly I’d have loved to have read more of that,
Bluesey was well developed too imo, the secret calls, that ONE SCENE WHERE HE HOLDS HER HAND BRIEFLY IN THE SIDE of THE PIG omg!!!!!!!! The toga party!!! Just ahh I love them, ronan and Adam were developed well too, genuinely enjoyed both couple arcs neither felt forced or ingenuine or too plot devicey (although ofc bluesey is a huge main plot point)
Henry was,,,,a total babe but like didn’t feel necessary to the plot at all ngl idk if anyone else feels that way, love him to pieces but??? He felt inserted for no reason really
Sad about Noah’s ending but enjoyed his friendship with ronan the most I think
Also idk how I feel about ronan being literally so OP that everything in the book ends up being what he created idk, when I started I kinda hoping it was the actual plot was this quest for glendower but I did feel it seems to get sidetracked WAYYYY more into the dream stuff, tho ig it did come back around to the king eventually… haha oh well
Anyway omg I’ve been rambling about nothing for ages lmaoooooo
I think in essence it’s like,, could this have been written more coherently and consistently plot wise, yes probably, would I die for the gangsey and reread this series till I die, also yes 😭😂😂😂😂😂😂 am I biased to Gansey and blind to any of his flaws, also yes probably hahahahahahahaha

16. For Ronan
From this ask game!
16. Drug them into paralysis
I love me some Whumpee!Ronan 🥰
Thank you to @sparrowsage who bought their whumper Damon! Rather than having a nameless Whumper ahaha
-
Damon wrestled with the younger man on the ground, doing his best to pin Ronan to the floor.
“Ronan, for fuck sake,” Damon huffed out, managing to finally gather the strength to pin the others hands beside his head, Damon promptly sitting on top of Ronan’s stomach, effectively pinning him to the floor, “we’re just going to the showers!”
Ronan furiously swung his head from side to side against the floor in refusal. He’d spotted the cuffs in the back of Damon’s pockets when he first entered the office, adamant to not let them be slapped on his wrists and render him helpless.
“D-Damon, please…” Ronan gasps breathlessly, tears welling in his eyes as he stares up at the man straddling him, “W-Were we not friends?! Don’t do this to me!”
Damon rolled his eyes slightly, gripping Ronan’s wrists a little tighter as he continued to fight the hold the Keeper had on him. “We’ve been through this countless times before, you know the answer already. Now, for the last time, we’re just going to the showers and you need the fucking cuffs because I know you’ll try and pull something, especially after this. Are you going to let me put them on or am I going to need to do something else to get you to comply?” Damon’s tone of voice was edging on threatening, frustration leaking through.
Not a single word got through to Ronan, in through one ear and out the other. He was too worked up, way too hysterical, panicked cries slipping free as he continued to pull at his wrists and try to roll Damon off of him.
“L-Let go! Please… get off-” he croaks out, indirectly answering Damon’s question with his distressed ignorance.
Damon let out a huff of frustration, giving Ronan’s wrist another tight squeeze before he started to move to get up. “Don’t get up or it’ll just be that much worse,” Damon growled slightly, pushing himself to his feet to get to his desk. He’s pleasantly surprised when Ronan doesn’t so much as flinch underneath him, frozen to the ground and shaking, but watching every movement the Keeper makes.
When he got over to his desk, Damon opened a drawer near the top, taking out a syringe that had already been filled previously, ready for use. Damon grasped it in his hand, drawing his arm into his sleeve, hiding the needle as he closed the drawer and made his way back over to Ronan.
“You need to learn to listen, Rin,” Damon said softly, though his tone still held the Keeper’s frustration for having to resort to this.
He straddled Ronan’s hips again, his hand with the hidden syringe hovering around Ronan’s neck. “It would make all of this so much easier for the both of us, though to be fair, I do enjoy the sight of you when your body is all limp and lifeless.”
Damon didn’t even give Ronan a chance to process what he just said before he slipped the syringe into his hand properly, uncapping it quickly and slipping the end of the needle into the crook of Ronan’s neck.
He pressed the plunger down in a fluid motion, removing the needle before tossing the syringe aside, sitting back on top of Ronan’s hips as he watched the other process what just happened.
Ronan’s mouth dropped open in a silent, strangled gasp, his eyes holding utmost betrayal and his eyes pooling with hot tears. He claps his palm around his neck protectively, like it’ll make any difference now he’s already been drugged, the toxin already flowing through his veins.
Time seems to drag into a sluggish pace, and though he’s certain only a few minutes have passed, it feels like an eternity when Ronan’s world begins to nauseatingly twist around him. Blurs of shapes and colors. All the control of his muscles seeps from his body, lying motionless on the cold floor as he fights desperately to claw back his ability to move.
It doesn't matter how much he fights, his limbs won't respond and the panic only festers and builds up into a splitting headache. Damon wants to check he's succeeded, leaning over to grab his floppy arm, pulling it off the ground and allowing it to weightlessly thud back down to the floor next to his head. It had worked beautifully.
Damon chuckled seeing the fear slowly spread across his former partner’s face, feeling the tenseness release from his body gradually. He leaned forward slightly, moving his hand up to Ronan’s cheek to gently stroke the skin.
“See? Much better,” Damon hummed, bringing his hand back after a moment.
Ronan scrunches his face up, the tears freely flowing now as he pants for breath through his parted lips.
He had no control. No way to fight back. No way to protect himself. Completely and utterly helpless - terror stricken.
"H-H…elp" Ronan slurs the words of despair, the only word he can manage to beg for mercy when his tongue doesn't really seem to play along.
Damon let out another hum, though this one was in amusement. As if the word was going to be of use, the drug would be in effect for the next few hours and there wasn’t anything Damon could do about it.
The Keeper got up off Ronan, bending over to grab him and sling him over his shoulder, letting out another chuckle at the weak, struggling sounds Ronan made as he did so.
“Now, let's get you to the showers so I can wash you down. Maybe next time you’ll think twice before not following orders.”

I couldn’t sleep last night, so I wrote a (soft) missing scene from The Raven King — Blue and Adam talk about him and Ronan. I hope you like it (and stay tuned for a part two that will be parallel to this one but with Ronan and Gansey) ♡
“So,” Blue said. “So,” Adam said. “You and Ronan, huh?” She teased, wiggling her eyebrows in a very Henry-like way. “Let’s not make it a thing, OK?” Adam smirked, effectively failing to let any annoyance seep through the words. In truth, he didn’t really mind the attention on his recently acquired boyfriend and him. Which was odd, – not that he had a boyfriend, although, well, it’s not like he had seen that one coming, or maybe he had, but that was not the point – he thought; because he’d spent a long time actively trying not to draw said attention to himself when it came to his father, then spending other considerable amounts of time making sure teachers and employers would notice that he was the best and the one to take note of. In a way, drawing attention to himself had always been like walking a precarious thread held on either end by people with quite slippery hands, and hoping that if he couldn’t make it to the other side unscathed, that there was at least some kind of mattress to soften the fall. In this moment he was embarassingly happy, though, so maybe attention was just part of the deal. Blue shrugged. “I wasn’t going to say what you thought I was going to say,” she said. “What did I think you were going to say, then?” Asked Adam, shifting his weight to rest on his arms and hands behind him. “That it’s weird, maybe. That it blows my mind,” she replied. “I was going to say it’s not, and it doesn’t. It kind of makes perfect sense, actually. Adam knew very few things that made perfect sense, but he couldn’t stop his brain from producing a wild, shimmery thought: it’s true. Still, he shot his friend a look that said “how so?” Blue glanced behind them towards the front door of the Barns, as if to see whether anyone – anyone being Gansey, or Henry, or Opal, or Ronan – was going to interrupt her. Raucous laughter, a muffled I told you it wouldn’t catch fire, and the more homey than irritating scratch of chairs being moved around could be heard. They were good. “For all of his anger and hurt, Ronan might just be the most caring person I’ve ever met,” Blue started, resting her cheek on her knees, head turned to Adam. “He gave me his only source of light with no hesitation, even though being in the dark in that cave was terrifying. I don’t know a lot of people who would do that.” Adam’s heart did a funny little leap at that, which should have been biologically impossible, but so many things seemed such a mere year ago, that impossible wasn’t really a word he could trust anymore. He allowed himself to get briefly lost in the knowledge that Ronan was a beautiful mystery who was a little less mysterious to him than to anyone else. The thought filled him with sudden, breathtaking joy. “You deserve someone like that. Someone who will always put you first.” Blue said with an unwavering sort of finality. Like that was just how things were supposed to be. Adam smiled softly. He couldn’t find the proper words to say how scared, and excited, and–hopeful he felt when he thought about his future with Ronan. Perhaps he could have, and it’s not that he didn’t want Blue to know, but some things were best kept safe inside his head.
“Don’t get me wrong, you’ll probably get into a bunch of stupid fights on a daily basis, with the awful tempers you’ve both been graced with,” Blue added then, making Adam snort and shake his head lightly. Didn’t he know. “But can I ask you how you realized ... you know,” Blue said, unclasping a bright yellow hairclip from her messy strands to toy with it instead. Adam cocked his head, considering. “I wouldn’t be able to pinpoint the exact moment things changed,” he started, pausing to wet his lips. “I mean, I used to think he was difficult and arrogant just because he could. And that was my fault for not trying to see past that, but, well ... I had too much crap going on to stop and think about it twice. I guess at some point I started noticing little things. Like if I turned to look at him, he was already looking at me. Or like he always seemed to be around when I needed someone to be and then I just thought no, not someone, him. Or how I just found myself leaning on him, like, metaphorically. But I wanted it to be literal, too, you know?” “I know.” Blue said simply. “And he always made me laugh. Like, when he’s not even trying to be funny and then proceeds to say something completely ridiculous. Or when he says something that he knows for a fact will make me laugh, and– He turned to find Blue’s nose was scrunched up. “Sorry. I got carried away,” Adam said, fairly sure he was blushing, and which was only partially concealed by the flickering lights on the porch. “Don’t apologize,” she rolled her eyes playfully. “Happiness suits you, Adam Parrish.” Adam’s mind conjured the image of her hug with Gansey after he came back from the dead. The most unadulterated, visible form of happiness he’d ever seen. “Likewise, Blue Sargent.” A sliver of yellow-ish light reached them as the door behind them banged open. “If you two are done making out, dinner’s ready,” Ronan said with no real venom. Blue let out a laugh, offering Adam a hand to rise. When she walked past Ronan, she reached up to tap his chest twice. “Fear not, Lynch. He’s only ever going to be making out with you.” Adam followed and planted a kiss on Ronan’s cheek. “Veritas filia temporis,” he teased against his jaw, and before Ronan could exhibit his vast knowledge of Latin curses, he took his hand to lead him back inside.

Personally, I could buy Adam’s lack of visible reaction when Gansey told them because he’d already known and had that fight with Blue about it and I kind of read Adam post Blue telling him Gansey will die as like, especially reluctant to be antagonistic with Gansey in any meaningful way (the only time he fights with him after that is over him bribing the principle for Ronan and it’s not nearly as intense as pre BLLB fights) which makes sense to me since it’s easy to be forgiving of a loved one if you suspect you’ll lose them, and with how intense their previous fights were And his recently learning Gansey is more vulnerable emotionally than he previously thought And the nightmare tree vision of him killing Gansey still weighing on him when you combine all that I can buy Adam just being willing to let that one go at that point. It’s “don’t fight with Gansey don’t fight with Blue” but Gansey might die and Blue won’t so he can fight with her about it and that fight kind of stands in for a fight with both of them, which is unfair to Blue and it’s also not really a great sign of growth in his relationship to Gansey as the narrative positions it (and honestly idk if this was even the intention Mstief might’ve just meant it as “oh he likes Ronan now so it’s all good” but it is my read on the situation based on what’s on page) but I can believe it even if I wish it were expanded on more. Ronan should have been visibly jealous and antagonistic about it though… generally I think Ronan and Gansey should have fought before Gansey died about this and about the bribe (which Ronan just never learns about??) since of the Gangsey relationships their underlying issues are the least addressed in previous books and Ronan’s the only one who doesn’t know Gansey will die so that doesn’t impact his behavior like it does Adam and Blue. Also would have been an opportunity of actual Blue and Ronan development from conflict I love individual scenes between them but I don’t think it got nearly the development as a friendship it deserved and fanon does a lot of heavy lifting for it. Also even with me saying I think some things are explainable through a lense of being it’s easy to forgive someone you think will die it still means there was a huge cop out in not showing any of the messiness in between Gansey dying coming back and everyone figuring that and their current dynamics out TRK is just a really poorly paced book and it effects even the better parts.
ANON YOU FUCKING. GET IT!!!!
though as much as adam letting it go goes, he's actually such a petty bitch, I was expecting at least A LITTLE bit of festering bitterness after the announcement. Let's not forget that adam is not only uh adam, he is also a teenage boy who is watching his best friend who he is jealous of and also wants to be and also love so much essentially “get the girl” who he used to date (and the break up was messy as hell too). So yeah, while adam would take the “don't fight with blue, don't fight with gansey” approach outwardly (especially with, like you said, the tree vision and gansey's confirmed death warrant on his mind) but inwardly… that bitch is festering.
As for ronan. ANON YOU FUCKING GET MY ISSUE WITH GANSEY'S RELATIONSHIPS YOU GET IT!!!
There are so many things for gansey and ronan to either fight on or talk about after tdt, but as soon as we start bllb, maggie just throws it out in favour of the two main romances. For fucks sakes maggie, I KNOW you were sick during trek but still… gansey never gets called out for essentially trying to control Ronan's life and give him a future HE thinks would be good for him. which.
As for the ronan and blue dynamic. You are so right. This is why gansey should have actually died at the end of trk or AT LEAST we should have witnessed his death from ronan's (the only person who didn't know gansey would die) pov. I LOVE complicated character dynamics and maggie does know how to write Ronan's rage (well… so-so but). It would have been so interesting to see how blue and ronan's relationship changes with gansey's death. especially since ronan would have reason to blame blue for his death (im sorry my love, but these boys are jumping you with accusations even tho the kissing is a two person kind of decision, you know how it is). it would also be very interesting to have seen how blue would have pushed back and how they would attack each other's grief in a weird way of healing.
as for ronan maybe also blaming adam for knowing, but not stopping gansey's death. uhhh not really coherent thought on it yet. I think it would essentially be adam's tree vision come to life. which is very inchresting to me.
I really think a post gansey death gangsey navigating through their shared grief would be sooo interesting actually.
