Lemuria:

Raideen: Lemuria/Reiko Hibiki, Akira's mother. She holds a cold facade because she feels as if she's not allowed to show love to her son, or all her efforts will be for nothing. She's secretly unhappy about the great responsibility placed on her shoulders, but bears it anyway because she knows she's her people's last hope. At least she dies smiling, enjoying a brief amount of happiness being able to see her son defeat Barao. There's also the fleeting hope that she reincarnates in the Mu empire after her death.

Dom Claude Frollo:

Dom Claude Frollo from Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. A compassionate, fatherly person for most of his life, by the time the novel begins, he, while still brilliant, is isolated by his alchemical studies and ultimately doomed by his lust for Esmeralda.

Films I've watched in 2022 (183/210)

The main trio (Patinkin as Quasimodo, Harris as Dom Frollo, Hayek as Esmeralda) is very good, and Jim Dale as Clopin has a good balance in his "dual" role of the fool later revealed to be the King of Truands.

Mandy Patinkin plays Quasimodo with great warmth, humor and vulnerabilty, and his prosthetics are very good. Salma Hayek is vibrant, sensual, empathetic and strong as Esmeralda. Richard Harris's Frollo is a man whose whole world has been shaken to its very core by the feelings Esmeralda stirs in him; his subsequent actions (violent but not in a sexual way) are absolutely not defensible, but you can understand why he does the things he does, and nearly pity him. Nearly. I do also like the fact that he seems to have genuinely cared for Quasimodo, to have taken him in from a genuine wish to protect him.
