I cannot stress this enough do not walk your dogs in high temperatures
Even if it’s reasonable for you, the pavement is hotter than the air and will burn your dogs’ paws. I have seen my fair share of blistered pads this summer. I have seen a dog who was so badly injured he had to be carried everywhere for weeks.
If you must take them out, drive them to a field where there is grass to walk on. It will still be hot but will be infinitely better than walking on concrete or any other kind of heat absorbent material.
Also: take water for your dog! You can get collapsible bowls to pour water in but even just poking small holes in the top of an everyday plastic water bottle and squirting out a stream for your dog to drink from/cool off in!
Sincerely, someone who works with animals for a living and grew up in an extremely hot and open climate

I love all dogs (And it shows!). Just because I don’t immediately run towards a dog doesn’t mean I’m distant or even scared, I’m cautious. It’s a dangerous thing to do that with a dog you’re not familiar with. Lots of people think all dogs are friendly like the ones they know, but one wrong move and it could spell trouble for you and/or the dog! Some dogs are really friendly but even they have their bad days. It’s not hopeless to be friends with an initially aggressive, afraid or aloof dog, it just takes time and effort. I always ask the person who knows the dog best “Can I pet them? Will they be okay with that?” even if they say “No” I respect that! They’re keeping everyone as comfortable as possible (And, as a service dog handler, petting my dog isn’t allowed with her vest on).
When I was younger I really wanted either a Papillon breed or a Great Pyrenees breed dog (Big difference I know) but I found that having a Labrador Retriever breed really went well (We’ve only had Labs and they were all wonderful service dogs). I won’t judge anyone for having a certain breed of dog because maybe that’s what’s best for them! I seriously love all dogs and think they deserve to be happy!🐾

"Let's Talk Pet Travel."
Hey Paw Parents,
As a lover of my planet, & a part-time wanderer. I love a good old journey through what I call my palace earth. So how do I travel with my 3 furbabies, through our palace? I'll tell ya in this blog entry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flights: It's easy to travel with smaller dogs. Unless you buy your larger fur baby a seat. Honestly, I've never paid for a flight for my pups. It's easy to conceal them in a pet traveler bag, & have them placed on your lap. If you have a partner, & more than 1 dog it's easier. Smaller dogs get away with everything it seems. So far so good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Road Trips: Road trips are super pet-friendly & stimulating for your pup. I Highly recommend paw parents who love a simple road trip to include this traveling method with your pup. It's fun, and you can make it feel like an endless vacation. ** I highly suggest having a pet seat cover cause you never know what surprises your furbaby may leave you.

Well, stay tuned for pt:2 of Let's Talk Pet Travel.

How to Make Your Dog Smell Like They Just Left the Groomer
Ever wonder how groomers make your dog smell so amazing? It's not magic (although it might seem that way to your pup!), it's doggy bath time tools! Groomers use special shampoos that get rid of stinky dog smells and leave a fresh scent. They might also use conditioner to keep your pup's fur soft and shiny, and sometimes even a finishing spray for an extra burst of freshness.

How does a dog eat?
Well, let me tell you, it's quite interesting! Dogs are carnivores, which means they primarily eat meat. When they eat, they use their sharp teeth to tear and chew their food. Unlike humans, dogs do not have flat molars to grind their food, so they swallow it in chunks.
But that's not all! Dogs have a unique way of drinking water too. They use their tongues to scoop up the water and then quickly lift their heads to swallow it. This is why you might see your dog making a mess when drinking from a bowl.
Speaking of dogs, have you heard of the Dog Identifier app? It's one of the best dog breed identification apps out there! With over 170+ dog breeds to identify, it's perfect for any dog lover. So why not give it a try and see if you can identify your furry friend's breed?"

"Let’s talk poop bags”
Tumblr media
Hey paw parents,
I discovered this amazing brand of poop bags. When I tell you the feel, and smell control, is absolutely fab. Yeah, that’s the word FAB! Wild one (dog brand) definitely did their thing with this one. Apparently, it's made of corn starch blend. Making for a super eco-friendly, sleek, & thick poop bag. They're doing the damn thing with this one. Honestly, it was love at first sight, when I saw this product at Target. I had to share this with you guys. Also, yes their bags are biodegradable. Which is amazing for our planet. The color with their minimalist logo pop. It’s so pretty. Here’s a video of my 3 furbabies, & I using this poop bag, as we stroll the dog park.
Till next time!✨🐾🐩

Weird question but does anyone else with hypermobility use those hand’s free dog leashes? I think it would be cool to be able to use my hands and not get my shoulder tugged when its sore, but I also don’t want to risk getting a rib yanked out of place or anything?
