Currently thinking about neighbor!Simon with a sweet thing who keeps shamelessly flirting with him.
Ghost, the soldier who has been basing his life in self-control and discipline, knocked down a peg or two by his younger neighbor. He doesn't even respond to the flirting, simply replying with a grunt or a "thanks" so quiet you can barely even hear it before he disappears into his house.
Neighbor!Simon, who initially moved to your quiet neighborhood for some peace and quiet— and he gets just that, with one glaring exception.
Neighbor!Simon, who is forced to listen to your moans and whines as you bounce up and down a dildo, filthy nonsense escaping your lips whenever it hits a sensitive spot.
Neighbor!Simon, who seemed amused about it at first and ignored it, but after a few times started feeling his jeans tighten up.
Neighbor!Simon, who cups his throbbing boner over his jeans, trying his best to stop himself from jerking off, yet your whiny moans are taking away any semblance of self-respect he has.
Neighbor!Simon, who timed his strokes with the sounds of your squelching cunt, imagining it's him going in and out of you.
Neighbor!Simon, who pathetically came all over his stomach when you moaned out his name, filthy and overly loud words leaving your lips because you know he can hear you.
Neighbor!Simon, who since then was less of a Ghost in his own neighborhood, actually trying to reply to your attempts at making conversation with him.
Neighbor!Simon, who told you one of his awful dad jokes just to hear the loudest sigh ever, the corners of his lips threatening to tug up at your reaction.
Neighbor!Simon, who eventually started tagging along for anything you did— Grocery shopping? Paying bills? Going to the park? Shopping? He's coming with you, claiming there's lots of creeps around.
Neighbor!Simon, who accepted your offers for dinner, looking at you moving around the kitchen and helping you, imagining you're his pretty little wife.
Neighbor!Simon, who got enough courage to kiss you after being 100% sure you were interested in him.
Neighbor!Simon, who couldn't keep the surprise from showing on his face when during one of your make out sessions, you took him to your bedroom.
Neighbor!Simon, who was a groaning mess underneath you as you rode him, calloused hands holding onto your hips with a bruising grip.
'' 'S what you wanted all along, love?'' He manages to grunt out between his deep groans and moans, hypnotized by the way your tits bounce while your tight cunt takes all of him.
''Since I first saw you.'' You reply with honesty, leg muscles tired from riding him, but his thick cock feels way too good to even think about stopping.
''Good girl.'' He praises, eyes closing as his hips start to thrust up, meeting you halfway while you bounce on his cock, angling up your ass so he hits a more sensitive spot that has you moaning on top of him, his grip on your hips going to your ass while he moves your smaller body up and down his cock, thrusts getting rougher while you finally collapse on top of him.
''Cum inside.'' His hips falter for a moment as he looks at you with raised eyebrows, your hushed confirmation of being on birth control enough to keep him going even harder, driving himself into your cunt at an unlawful pace, heavy balls slapping against your ass as he thrusted deeply, the room filled with the smell of sex, walls bouncing with the sounds of your combined desperate moans as he shoved himself as deep as he could, filling your womb with his thick, fertile cum. It doesn't matter if you're on birth control, his seed is much stronger.
Husband!Simon, who got to come home from deployment to his missus, stomach swollen with his baby.

an: the start of cowboy!ellie and reader's love story <3 how i met ur mother actually. yk when u write a word so much and it doesn't look real anymore thats how i feel abt the word flower.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
“is the money good?”
her eyes trace the faded ink that paints your jawline. her fingers itch in her gloves, tapping along the flimsy paper. she shifts quickly, cigarette smoke swirling and fading in the air, a sweet smell.
your father was a desperate, desperate man.
‘please, please, bring her back to me.’
‘my sweet child, my only child.’
honestly, ellie wasn’t paying much attention to the blubbering until the mention of a payout.
the drag was long, smoke settling her stomach, and spilling out from her lips in a rasp of a laugh, “yeah, it’s real good.”
this was clearly your first time running from home.
your name on her lips, nearly everyone she met was itching to tell ellie what they had seen, for a stray coin or two. you weren’t exactly quiet, rushing off with kicked up dust and curses rolling off your tongue. the easiest money they’ve ever made, joel jokes.
ellie had your photograph in her pocket, the one your father gave her. it had felt almost unlawful  to take it, your smile too intimate, your laugh too familiar. you wore the ornaments of high society, silks and velvets finding their comfort in the contours of your body, but your look was something unknown, untamed, something scarcely to be found. it was something that she deemed herself unworthy of. a sick perversion it was, to look at a capturing of you and imagine something more. she swallowed it.
“y’seen her or not?”
His eyes lingered a fraction longer on your face, the ghost of his breath circling the rim of his glass, sinking into the beer at the bottom. ellie dug her fingernails into her palms. she hated this man.
“maybe. y’got something f’me?”
“how much?”
“twenty.”
jesus.
“ th’s higher than last time, butch.” joel’s calm, albeit tired. the rasp in his throat echoes into the jovial sounds of the saloon. the old crook chuckles, sags of skin rising and falling with his molasses, gap-toothed smile.
“business is business, old friend. consider it a family discount, jus’ for you two.”
ellie makes sure joel feels the fire of her gaze as he counts out the bills. there’s little comfort in knowing the reward is sweeter, as she watches half their year’s savings slide across the table.
“a friend of a friend seen her in valentine. in that pretty dress too.”
her breath rots in her throat, palms itching as she takes back the photo, settles it back in her pocket. joel leads her out with a dishonest smile.
“easiest money we ever made.” it’s a mocking closing statement, before the heavy breath of horses fills a dripping silence.
you’re not far from a fallen angel, when ellie spots you. completely separate from the delicacy of your photo, now, you’re wild. your hair looks softer, less abused with pomade and twists to make stiff curls, capturing the sun and shining it like fragmented glass. a warmer, kinder glow falls on the dust of your skin, your rich silks abandoned for something looser, free. she feels a tragedy nick at her head when joel doesn’t hesitate,
“miss,” he stops you on the step of the general store, your grocery basket swinging from your arm, change echoing in the pocket of your skirt, “we’re friends of your father’s. he’s asked us t’bring you on home now.”
you weren’t smiling before, but something fell on your face that made you hard to describe. something echoes and ellie can almost watch the moment everything clicks.
“damn!-ellie!”
apples roll down the steps, abandoned. joel is old, and slow. ellie isn’t.
she’s on you before you can even breathe a getaway, her hands a rough burn against your skin as she pins you, cheek flush against the wood paneling of the store. softness forsaken, your breath is heavy, a monster slipping from your lips as you kick and bleed,
“i won’t go back-y’can’t make me! bastard!”
the blade is cold fire, foreign on your neck, “trust me flower. we can go easy,” pressure. “or hard,”
the silence between you deepens, your breath swirling together as the heat from her chest ripples on your back. this isn’t how ellie thought you’d be.
“how the fuck did you think that was gonna go, joel? ‘oh, you’re my daddy’s friends? why, of course, let me go and pack my beloved valuables and we can ride home together while i sing a tisket, a tasket for your enjoyment.’”
your voice is a rough, searing anger, as it echoes from where you’re bent over on ellie’s horse, hands tied behind your back, “cunt.”
“that ain't a very ladylike mouth you got there, darlin’.”
your father is wringing his clammy little hands on the front porch when joel and ellie’s horses are spied up the road. working himself up, he runs to meet you with a blabber of words. joel lifts you gently, much kinder than he was back in valentine, and cuts the sandpaper ropes from your wrists. your mother appears with a scowl,
“come on then. you need a bath, you’re filthy.”
it’s a walk of shame back down the road to your eyesore of a prairie home. the money feels sickeningly heavy in ellie’s hands as she watches you.
oh, she’s home. home, home, home. your father mutters in relief.
it doesn’t last long.
the second time is almost as painful as the first. tears stain the suede of joel’s jacket, a manic grip as the older man wailed and cried,
“she’s gone, again, again! please!”
they found you wandering a mountain pass, the sand of the red desert rock smeared across your cheek and dusted in your hair. you’d stolen a pony of your father’s, skittish and small, ellie almost laughed.
but fuck, you were learning to put up a good fight. even had a knife on you this time, smart girl.
but your dumb horse didn’t fight much, flying off at the first sound of a gunshot, throwing you violently into the dirt, winded and dazed. ellie shaded you from the beating sun with shit-eating grin, “howdy stranger.”
your voice is a coughing fit, “fuc-k you.”
by the fourth time, they started taking payments up front. the fifth time, your mother delivered the news, your father too bed-ridden with worry to see through the mess of tears and snot.
“back so soon, friend?” it’s mean to be a laugh, but it’s a rasp, dying wind scratching at his throat as his brow furrows.
ellie’s not interested in his dance, counting out the money and running it along the bumps of the scarred bar table, “same girl, y’seen her?”
he tuts, his voice high and mighty and too drunkenly happy, “dunno. think i forgot what i’m lookin’ for. might need t’see that photo again.”
“watch it.”
the silver of her hunting knife twinkles like a star in the warm light, the point slowly digging an edge into the aging wood. he shrinks and wisps the money up before it disappears, “last i heard she hitched a train up north. all i know, i swear.”
“always a pleasure, butch.”
the glow of your dying campfire wasn’t an easy beacon to follow from below the cliff face, smoke easing off the edge and falling into the moonlight. ellie eased her horse quietly up the incline, her eyes trailing your silhouette against the amber coals. a horse was tied to the tree you were camping under, not yours.
didn’t take you long to settle into the wild.
you were a completely different creature, something unknowable. ellie rounds the thicket on her feet, watching you. your eyes melt with the starlight, windswept and sweet in the air of the hills. you belong here.
fortunately, god makes it clear that ellie does not. the crack of the stick calls and echoes off the distance mountains, and, fuck, when did you get a revolver?
her hands are up as she steps out, cursing under her breath as her pants snag in the bush.
“you even know how to use that, sweetheart?”
your thumb clicks the safety, it echoes in the silence,
“i know well enough.”
“and what?” it’s teasing, and at some point, as ellie ponders her life down the barrel of a gun, your gun, she wonders if maybe, it’s not the right time. fuck it, “you gonna shoot me, flower? you gonna try?”
“i ain’t going back to that house, ellie.”
however tense, and full of pure hatred, her name on your lips is something god-given. she fights to revel in it.
“clearly.”
ellie steps, hoping to bridge the distance between you with something kind, something deserving of you. you panic.
blood. warm and sticky, seeping through the scratchy fabric of her shirt, the burn spreading through her body like a parasite. her hand flies to her arm, “you fucking shot me?’
had you seen blood before? had you shot someone before? your aim wasn’t guided by god, but fuck, you didn’t exactly expect it to hit her, and ellie knows.
“you’re th’one who fucking came at me!”
“i was walking!”
the ride home was horribly reminiscent of the first time you met. except, somehow, the ropes were tighter, and ellie had two guns in her saddle bag.
your mother scrubs the dried blood from your side in a cold bath, muttering about the witching hour.
you wait a few nights in restlessness, listening to your parents argue about your disobedience, before packing yet another satchel.
the outline of her jaw was lit by a dying cigarette, the soft scratch of her boots on the dirt echoing in the cicada rhythm of midnight. you watch her carefully as you drop from your window, wishing you had grabbed the shotgun this time.
“what? you hoping to cash in without actually doing any work?”
she’s quiet, leaning against your back picket fence. flicking her cigarette down, it briefly lights the white tourniquet splitting her bicep.
“i’m real sorry about that.” it’s quiet, remorse.
she tuts, without care, “just a graze. y’have terrible aim.”
she’s watching you, enforcing a silence between you as she studies you, almost unsure.
a sharp whistle bounces off a distant hill. you can vaguely make out the glow of a lantern, and joel.
ellie sighs, heavy, defeated.
“get your shit. don’t expect me t’carry it.”

I should be working on my next chapter for "Hot Ice, Strange Snow."
(I've just started on Chapter 12)
Instead, I'm just sitting around imagining headcanons for Zutara in the LOK-era.
Katara isn't just "greatest healer in the world." She is Master Katara of the Southern Water Tribe, former ambassador to the Fire Nation, founder of the Southern Water Tribe's Waterbending Academy (and frequently visits the academy to give advanced lessons in combat, practical, and healing waterbending), subject of numerous statues around the world to commemorate her contributions to ending the war and aiding in the post-war restoration (she even has a statue alongside Sokka's at the SWT cultural center in Republic City, because WHY WOULDN'T SHE?!), patroness of countless charitable and cultural organizations, and retired Fire Lady.
Zuko still has all his achievements from canon, plus he continues to endorse several groups dedicated to promoting world peace. He is a celebrated philanthropist, often volunteering his assistance to orphanages and shelters. Even in his retirement, he and Katara still travel regularly to look for opportunities to help people. Zuko also visits Ba Sing Se specifically to stop by the Jasmine Dragon. When Iroh passed away, he left the tea shop to Zuko and Katara's youngest son, who was obsessed with tea since he first tasted it (as the kid was way far down the succession line, he saw no point in living like a prince when he could run a tea shop, instead).
Zuko and Katara also enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. As someone who likes kids, I prefer to imagine they had a lot of children and, as a result, a lot of grandkids. They are extremely doting grandparents and try to be as involved as possible. They both enjoy sharing different parts of their respective cultures with their family.
Their children and grandchildren grew up learning about and appreciating their mixed heritage. While they are all Fire Nation royalty, they all know and practice Water Tribe traditions alongside Fire Nation ones.
When the Northern Water Tribe invades the South, of course Zuko and Katara step in. After all, the SWT doesn't answer to the North (seriously, wtf LOK?) and this is an unlawful occupation. Zuko and Katara also rally their kids and grandkids, who all turn up along with Sokka's kids and grandkids to stop the invasion. When the Southerners see firebenders in their land, they regard it as a cause for celebration rather than fear.
Kind of a cosmic role-reversal. Instead of people from the South defending the North from the Fire Nation (like in Book 1), it's the Fire Nation helping defend the South against the North.
Of course Katara is right in the midst of the action alongside Zuko and the rest of the family. After all, it's not like Katara would just sit silently in the background doing nothing while her homeland is invaded (*glares at LOK again*).
Also, Katara never outlaws bloodbending. She ensures heavy regulations are put on learning it, but she does teach it to some select students whom she has vetted to ensure they are mentally and emotionally sound, have a good grasp of ethics, and are trustworthy enough to study the art.
Anyway, that's enough for now. Just wanted to get these ramblings out of my brain before I go to bed.

For @merlinmicrofic. Prompt: Throne. Gwen & Merlin, Post-Camlann, Gen. Words: 497
Gwen remembers Arthur’s delighted confession after her coronation so clearly.
“When you walked up those steps and sat next to me, I thought: at last she is where she belongs.”
“On the throne?” she had asked, laughing, amused at the thought. Only the day before she was a servant. Even with the crown sitting heavy on her head it all felt like a dream.
Arthur had looked into her eyes, solemn. “That, too. But I meant at my side.”
When Gwen looks at her side now there’s an empty throne. Every now and then it feels like a stab to the heart.
She could have it removed, but she chose not to. She wants to remember, even if it pains her.
She suspects Gwaine’s seat at the Round Table remains unoccupied for the same reason.
Sometimes she catches Merlin looking at it – vacant eyes on a vacant seat.
He sits at Gwen’s side, and she misses him. Arthur died after Camlann, but the Merlin she knew never returned either.
“Merlin?” she calls him, genty. He’s gathering some scrolls from the table, absent-mindedly. The knights have left, they’re the only people in the council chamber now, apart from the guards posted at the doors.
The sound of his name seems to bring him back to reality. Where were you? she’d like to ask him. Where do you go when you’re not here?
Instead, she says: “Will you come to my chambers later? I’ve amended my speech for tomorrow and I would like you to review it. If you have the time.”
Merlin gives her an empty smile. “Of course.”
Of course. He always has the time for Gwen, and he’s always perfectly polite. It's like he’s trying to atone for the unforgivable sin of not saving Arthur’s life. She wonders how long it will take him to feel like he has done sufficient penance. Perhaps one day he’ll realise it will never happen, and he will feel free to go.
He’s not staying. She knows it, even if Merlin doesn't. It may be a matter of weeks, or months, or even a few years, but one day the tether binding Merlin to Camelot will snap. It grows more frail by the day.
“Thank you,” she says.
Merlin dips his head and leaves, the bundle of scrolls tucked under his arm.
She looks at Arthur’s throne. Tomorrow she will address the people of Camelot and declare magic no longer unlawful.
“I wish you were here to see it,” she murmurs.
One day she’ll start living for the present and for what is yet to come, and not for the memory of the man she loved. But today she allows herself to dwell on the past, and to take some comfort in it.
As she brushes a tear away, the clouds in the grey sky part, and golden sunlight floods the chamber. It touches the red velvet of the thrones like a caress.
It feels like an answer.
Gwen smiles.

Dear Anonymous,
Tumblr media
I'm afraid it depends on the context, the country's laws, culture, and other circumstances. The same applies to any crime. To claim that we shouldn't protect any criminals at all under any circumstances would include Correctional Officers who watch prisons holding criminals.
Tumblr media
Being officers of the law doesn't solely mean protecting the innocent, as crazy as it sounds. It's just as much our duty to protect the unlawful so that they may get their fair justice. You can't call it fair or just if not even the criminals can't be protected. That's why Defense Attorneys exist.

BUSTED: Matt Gaetz Rips FBI Director Christopher Wray A New One “Over 200,000 ILLEGAL FISA Inquiries Have Occurred Under Your Watch” This is real documented evidence, how has Christopher Wray not been impeached? “I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father. Sounds like a shakedown, doesn't it, Director? ‌ I'm not going to get into commenting on that. You seem deeply uncurious about it, don't you? Almost suspiciously uncurious. Are you protecting the Bidens? Absolutely not. The FBI does not and has no interest in protecting anyone politically. You won't answer the question about whether or not that's a shakedown and everybody knows why you won't answer it. Because to the millions of people who will see this, they know it is. And your inability to acknowledge that is deeply revealing about you. But let's go from the uncurious to the downright nosy. ‌ How many illegal FISA queries have occurred under your leadership of the FBI? ‌ Well, there are reports that have come out with different numbers about compliance incidents. More than a million illegal ones? Because that's what the Inspector General said. The Inspector General said that in the 3.4 million of these queries, more than a million were in error. Do you have any basis to disagree with that assessment by the Inspector General? I'm not sure actually that's a correct characterization of the Inspector General's findings on that. The internet will remind you of that in moments. ‌ But let's now go to what the court said. The court said it was over 200,000 that have occurred on your watch. Do you have any basis to disagree with that assessment? Again, I don't have the numbers I sit here right now. What I can say is- Seems like a number you should know. How many times the FBI's breaking the law under your watch? Especially if it's like over a million to not know that number. And I'm worried about your veracity on the subject as well. ‌ Play the video. ‌ Letters for the capital. I don't believe FISA is remotely implicated in our investigation. So there Senator Lee is asking you whether or not FISA was in any other way involved in your January 6 investigation and you say no. Was that truthful? I said that I did not believe it was. Okay so now let's pull up what the court said, which is something a little different than what you said. So here, nope, that's not the right one. ‌ Yeah, here we go, right there it says, the government has reported additional significant violations of the querying standard, including several relating to the January 6, 2021 breach of the Capitol. So I guess the question, Director Ray, is did you not know when you were answering these questions that the FBI was engaging in these illegal searches, or did you perjure yourself to Senator Lee? ‌ I certainly didn't perjure myself at the time that I testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. I didn't have that piece of information. I will add. Well, that was a court order. You didn't have that piece of information because the court hadn't yet rendered a judgment. Did you not know when you gave the untruthful answer before Senator Lee that this was going on? It was a truthful answer. I did not believe FISA had been involved in January 6th. But it was. So you didn't. The answer is the FBI has broken so bad that people can go and engage in queries that when you come before the Congress to answer questions you're like blissfully ignorant. You're blissfully ignorant as to the unlawful queries. You're blissfully ignorant as to the Biden shakedown regime. And it just seems like it gets into a kind of a creepy place as well. Go to our next.” FISA Is The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act

19. “For the most part, I am, in fact, an idiot. But I fully admit to it, which should count for something.”
((20 fluff/relationship prompts here!))
--
In Kravitz's experience, the guiltier someone was, the more they tried to defend themselves. This is why it's so weird that Lup did little more than ask him "what crime did I commit, exactly?" and then shrug and say, "sounds about right." She came with him willingly then. Through the window, Kravitz could see her playing with the perpetual motion machine on his desk, as she had been doing when he went to get his file folder. He straightened his suit and went back inside.
"Alright," Kravitz said. "Let's get right to it, then." He set the file folder on the desk, sitting down in his swivel chair. Lup looked incredibly bored. "Let's see here... Lup Loop, elf, age three hundred and fifty-nine. That all sound correct?"
"Three hundred and sixty-nine, actually," Lup said, leaning back in her chair. Kravitz picked up the pen to correct that, but Lup snorted, grinned at him, and said, "Nah, joking, my man. Three fifty-nine is right."
"Please keep in mind that this is not the time to play games, Miss Lup." Lup winked at him. Kravitz hurried on. "The charge filed again you are as followed: Ten accounts of profaning the laws of life and death, including and not limited to unlawful rasing of the dead, swapping your soul between bodies, and several deaths without entering the astral plane. Does this all sound correct?"
"Uhh," Lup said. Her chair was now balancing on only the back legs. "Gotta be honest, homie, I don't remember any of those."
"You..." Kravitz sighed, rubbing his temple. "You don't remember committing death crimes."
"No?" Lup said. And then a little more firmly, "no, yeah, I think I'd remember that."
"Three unlawful deaths," Kravitz read from the paper. "One by poison, one by an arrow, and one willful death, all without coming to the astral plane."
"Hang on," Lup said. She abruptly brought the chair back down to all fours, leaning forward to see the papers. "Willful death? What does that mean?"
"What- what does it mean?" Kravitz said. "Are you serious?"
"Yeah," Lup said. She scooted her chair a bit closer. "Like, what exactly counts as a "willful" death or an "unwillful" death?"
"You made yourself into a lich!" Kravitz said, slamming his hands down on the table and standing up with a start. Lup scooted back a little again, grabbing the sides of her chair very tight. "You twisted and broke the laws of life and death to the highest degree and you're asking me what counts as a willful death?"
There was a very tense silence for a moment, where Lup stared at him with wide eyes.
"I'm not Lup," she blurted out suddenly. Kravitz blinked.
"I'm sorry," Kravitz said, after a very deep breath, "did I hear you right?"
"Yeah," they said tersely. "I'm not Lup. My- uhm, hail and well met, I guess. I'm Taako." Kravitz stared. Taako tugged at his collar nervously. "Y'know, from TV? Deffo not Lup. She's my sister."
"She's... your sister," Kravitz repeated hollowly. He collapsed back into his seat, sorting through the files. "This doesn't say Lup has a sibling. No- no mention of a Taako anywhere in here. There's a Barry Bluejeans. A mention of someone named Magnus Burnsides, Merle Highchurch, but no Taako anywhere." He pulled up the family records next. "An aunt, several uncles, even more cousins, no Taako."
"I'm pretty shy," Taako said.
"Taako," Kravitz said, trying not to pull out his own hair. "Are you a goddamn idiot? Why the hell would you think coming here with me was a good idea if you aren't the one convicted of these crimes?"
"For the most part, I am, in fact, an idiot," Taako said, with a little nervous laugh. Kravitz felt a migrane coming on. "But I fully admit to it, which should count for something! But- but I mean, wouldn't you?"
"Wouldn't I... risk my life and soul impersonating a person who doesn't seem aware that I exist?" Kravitz asked, unable to keep the utter befuddlement from his voice. "No, Taako, I can't say I would."
"Look," Taako said. "Lup's got some of her own shit going on. I was thinkin' that maybe I could, I don't know, pay a fine or something? My boss is pretty tight with your boss-"
"Your boss?" Kravitz said. "I'm not sure if you're aware, Taako, but I work for the literal goddess of death, the Raven Queen. I am almost positive whoever you work for doesn't know the Raven Queen well enough to be "pretty tight"."
"I mean, I could call Istus up, if you want?" Taako offered. Kravitz sunk down into his chair. He stood corrected, apparently. "Look, thug, it's a pretty long story and I don't really wanna explain the whole thing-"
"You're going to have to," Kravitz said, rubbing his temples. "We are not going anywhere before someone tells me who in the entire fuck you are and what exactly you do for Istus. Understood?"
He fished a notebook out of the lowest desk drawer and picked up the pen. Taako was leaning back in his chair again, balancing on the two legs. He was looking at Kravitz with a critical eye.
"Yeah, fuck it," Taako said at last. "I've got some time to kill."

Oh dear, passing out from stress doesn't sound safe. And you get no breaks? It's sounds like a harsh job. Plenty of people down here would even see it as an unsafe work environment.
Tumblr media
“Star culture is very different from the surface, from my experience.. there’s a lot more you would find disturbing or unlawful up there. Stars are celestials after all, we’re made for this kind of stress. Some are just.. not cut out for it as much as others.”

I was reading this, nodding along to everything, until I got to the end and burst out laughing 😂😂😂 I love how this implies that Poppy just has a sixth 'my crime friends are doing something bad again' and she cane in just in time XD
Poppy is taking the baby from Psycho's arms, and she is scolding the heeeeell out of Smartass before insisting they try to find the baby's parents. Or figure out a way to deal with the child that doesn't involve unlawful antics XD she's gonna adopt the baby

"Pirates are hooligans of the seas and I will not be dressing up as one!" *there's a huge frown on taka's face as mondo and kaito have been desperately trying to convince him to 'join their pirate crew' for the last few days although their pleas are not swaying him!*
"Aunt Phan, I would have preferred to not get you involved but they have left me with no choice! Please help me! No matter how many times I have said no, they refuse to listen and continue to ask me again and again! I do not want them hounding me until Halloween!!"
"Aww, Taka..." She rubs his back. While she thinks it'd be such a cute idea if they all wrote matching pirate outfits, that he doesn't need to worry about such things like if they're 'unlawful' and just have fun.... she also understands it wouldn't be right to force him to wear something he vehemently does not want to wear. He's asking for her help, after all....
And so, she gets in between them all, giggling as she says: "It's okay, sweetheart! Now... Kaito, Mondo; I understand you really want Taka to join your pirate crew, but it's not right to try forcing him until he finally gives in. He said no, and you both have to respect that. Okay?" She pokes both their cheeks! But she doubts that will be enough to make the boys give up... and so after pondering for a moment... she gets an idea!!
"...Oh! I know!! There's still a way you all can match, in a way that still respects Taka's wishes to not become a pirate!! You don't want to dress up as a pirate because they're 'hooligans' of the sea, right, Taka? Then how about you dress up assss... a marine corp officer! Yeah!! They're like the cops of the sea, right? The studious officer, chasing after those pesky pirates!! How does that sound? Everyone wins!"
Tumblr media
She laughs!! Of course, if that's what Kiyotaka would be okay with. And something she hopes satisfy Kaito and Mondo, too; that way, both sides can compromise with zero issue!!

the other thing I don't see people discussing is
am i misremembering or... isn't Roe v Wade the thing that the right to privacy comes from? like... isn't it the case that the Constitution doesn't literally say that (just that you're protected from unlawful search and seizure) but the Court decided in Roe that privacy generally was a "penumbral right?" Or do I have the wrong decision there?
My formerly pro-life ass continues to be uneasy about how blase some people can sound when talking about taking human life, but even that part of me thinks "we don't actually have any privacy because we've just decided after decades that this one thing was actually murder, sorry we took so long to get around to letting you know" would be, uh, HUGE.

I think Yotsuba Light was really boring without Kira Light.
I think if the death note didn't existed they would have still become enemies and Light would have kept notes at L to catch him for his unlawful tactics and would have probably tried to make him pay for his unlawful behaviour of catching criminals and tried to show the world how better he was than L because he abided by law to catch criminals and how he would have tried to throw L in the jail and probably later himself had to use unlawful tactics to catch L and then would have tried to justify this in the same way that he did with the dn that he was doing it to get rid of of the injustice and making the world a better place and probably would have himself become a hypocrite to catch L. Then in the end , they would have gotten married and ruled the world.
This Idea is really messy but I just can't imagine a world without L and Light being enemies or rivals , Lawlight is nothing without their cat and mouse games.
Yotsuba Light was really boring though but I think he himself would have got the evidence that he was the First Kira and after all he was already suspecting that in canon but I don't know if he would have surrendered himself , what are your thoughts regarding this ?
One more thing that I don't like is that even after getting a gun put to his head by his own father Light doesn't seem that traumatised by it at all during the Yotsuba arc , I would have liked it if they atleast explored this topic a little bit . How much of an impact would it have had on Light and Soichiro's relationship? The authors seem to forget at times how dark their story becomes. Light was traumatised and terrified when his father put a gun to his head and they never explored this topic and we never got to see the aftereffects of this terrifying scenario on him instead it seemed like he completely forgot about it .
I would love to know your thoughts regarding this.
•I agree that the story feels a lot slower at times when Light is no longer able to recall his Kira actions. I think it's an important part of the story for showing different sides of certain characters that makes them feel a lot more fully fleshed out than they maybe otherwise would have felt. But in a weird way it also makes me appreciate Light being Kira more, because (at the risk of sounding like Ryuk) that's definitely when he is at his most entertaining to watch
•I very much agree with you about how I think Light would probably come to view L if he had never picked up the notebook and grown up to replace Soichiro as the chief of the NPA! I love the idea that he would start acting really conniving and two-faced and eventually compromising his own values in the name of eliminating someone else who he hates because they are corrupt while also somehow excusing it to himself as being ok when HE is doing similar things, as well. I think he would probably have matured more and possibly viewed things a bit less idealistically and purely in black and white if he had the chance to grow up a bit more than he did before becoming Kira in canon. But in my opinion those personality traits of his are something found within him innately rather than something that the Death Note almost magically infected him with
•I think Light probably would have been a good enough sleuth alongside L to eventually help him catch himself, yes, though I haven't thought much about the technicalities that would likely involve lately. I wonder if he figured something out ahead of L if he would have had to choose between either turning himself in or preserving himself by trying to throw L off the trail again? Would definitely be interesting to see him have to make an agonizing choice like that of some kind, although it seems like as soon as he remembered that he definitely had been Kira he went right back to trying to win again
•Yotsuba Light was definitely a bit boring to follow at times because of how serious and stern he was, but I think since he genuinely believed he was innocent that it was a fairly appropriate way to behave at the time, given the very serious circumstances. Looking at it realistically he was in a very stressful situation at that point and just doing his best to try to prove his innocence and win his personal autonomy and his freedom back. The story doesn't focus much on anything like the characters' emotions or their in-depth reactions to traumatic events most times, and that stuff is often sort of glossed over by both the narrative and the characters involved in order to maintain the sardonic tone and plot-heavy breakneck pace. I think he definitely was terrified by Soichiro's fake execution, though. And sometimes I think the way he acts in the Yotsuba arc, where he is suddenly behaving almost like a carbon copy of Soichiro in all of his own morals and manners and the stances he is taking on matters, has a lot to do with him trying his best to appease his father and win back his approval and his trust.

Yanfei Headcanon - Vision
Kind of long and lengthy because I love her and I think she deserves more love! Also be wary of spoilers since I will be going in depth from Yanfei's story!
so upon reading her vision story it doesn't really say when she got her vision but why. Specifically it says that she received her vision because of her ideals.
Quote "In a sense, one could argue that Yanfei makes the laws better at the lowest possible price... This principle is also the reason why she has never been convicted of exploiting such loopholes. Yanfei believes in "no structure without laws," and what she wishes for is to "live as one pleases without overstepping." Everyone in Liyue, adeptus or mortal, protects it in their own way. That is why Yanfei possesses a vision, one that is of equal weight to her principles." End quote.
It's rather vague and I want to try and make a guess at how exactly she got her vision.
So in addition to the quote above her vision story also says that every year, Ningguang spends her time looking over laws to iron out the loopholes to make sure that no one is exploited. It also says that Ningguang herself looks over and studies Yanfei's work as if, and quote: "...She were Liyue's unofficial legal troubleshooter." End quote.
This tells us that Yanfei doesn't work directly for the Qixing and instead is a private lawyer, meaning that people will individually hire her for work, otherwise I think that she would probably be working directly for the Qixing as a legal consultant.
In "Codex Finalem" we finally learn what that massive fucking book is that hangs from her waist and drops into her hands during one of her idle animations.
Quote: "As opposed to the codices that grow heavier and more complicated with time, this book is unbelievably light and thin. After opening it and getting past the prologue, one will find naught but the most basic few principles of the law inscribed. As Yanfei sees it, this is the final form of the law. In the far future, the law will have entered into the people's hearts. All people will be amiable, modest, and live happily in this world. The halls of judgement will lie empty and the mountains of legalese shall be caked in years of dust. Though this may sound like something far off, for someone like Yanfei, in whom the flows the blood of an illuminated beast, living till that day is hardly a great accomplishment." End Quote.
Okay so now what the fuck does all that text mean. Well, I interpret that as Yanfei being firm in her beliefs, not willing to manipulate the law to her benefit, and that she doesn't think of her long lifespan as something to worship or revel in. It also tells us that she probably plans on continuing her work in Liyue's legal system far into the future.
Now, slight divergence from Yanfei to pyro users as a whole.
From all the pyro users that we've seen in game (at the time of making this post this includes: Diluc, Bennett, Amber, Yanfei, Xinyan, Klee, Thoma, Xiangling, Yoimiya, and Hu Tao.) all of them have passion in some form for some sort of ideal that fits their character. For Diluc that's protecting Mondstadt, at the time of getting his vision he probably wanted to join the knights and now it's through his work as the Dark Knight Hero. Yanfei is passionate about the law and making it fair for everyone, Hu Tao the undead and the funeral buisness. ect...
From what I can tell Pyro visions are given to those who have great passion and resolve for specific things. Their visions are a symbol of their passion and are meant to be used to help uphold their ideals.
Now whether or not visions can be gifted to those with unlawful passions is unknown. All the pyro characters and most characters in general fall onto the positive moral spectrum with the exception of maybe Childe, though he's up for debate considering he doesn't have a vision section only a delusion story and because he has a hydro vision which likely was gifted because of his strong sense of justice, which is the heavenly ideal of the current hydro archon.
So for now I'm going to assume that visions are gifted to those with strong ideals aligning with either Celestia's or a specific archon's ideals.
Back to Yanfei.
I think that her vision was specifically gifted to her after a trial. Either the first one she won in her favor or her fist trial in general. I'm going to pick the first option to elaborate on.
Imagine this (and bare in mind that we don't have all that much info on Liyue's actual justice system, at least to my knowledge but considering that Liyue is heavily based on mainland China, I'm going to assume that their court system functions similarly to them. This means that both the judge and the people's assessors will question witnesses before coming to a decision. At least for low level cases before it probably moves upward to the Milileth or potentially even Ningguang herself.)
Okay back on track. Yanfei is currently overseeing a trial in which she's attempting to fight for her client, who let's say was cheated out of a contract through a minor loophole. Yanfei makes her case and the assessors and the judge question a number of witnesses as well as Yanfei's client and the person they're trying to sue/bring to justice.
maybe her client is a high ranking businessman or something, someone with a lot of influence in Liyue. so them getting cheated in a deal has a lot of influence.
Yanfei lays down her argument, bringing out all the facts and even pointing out and explaining the particular loophole that was exploited by her client's opponent.
At the very end of the trial itself, when the judge and assessors are casting their votes and coming to a final decision she's waiting, hoping that her words were enough to convince them that her client deserves justice.
At the very end the judge decides that her client, was in fact cheated out of their contract and Yanfei's vision appears in a flash of bright light. Dropping onto the table in front of her as the room lights up in a burst of flames.
And that my friends is how I think that Yanfei got her vision. God I love this woman!!!

Oc Talk Pt.2
This time, we’ll be talking about my alien ocs!
Unknown
Using an ox skull as a mask, he demonstrates his power and skill by befriending anyone who crossed his path. Any timeline, universe, or world is no match for this alien to discover new friends and knowledge of their daily lives.
He doesn't like talking about his past, he's not proud of what he's done.
Stan
An officer of the law, he used his authority to do whatever he wants. Any skill or determination is pushed to the limit to cause mass panic or chaos to wherever group or city he patrols through. His mask is that of a clown compared with the blond hair that swirls around his head.
Whatever happens, happens, the law is what is at stake.
Sharpshooter
A skilled vigilante with a sniper, he aims and kills killers before they could strike the young and vulnerable. His name is given to him by the people, and he takes it and strikes fear in those who think they can get away with murder. His mask is coupled with the heavy armor he wears to protect himself from harm, or maybe just for aesthetic purposes.
It doesn't matter if they’re young, in their prime, or old; they will all face the consequences of their actions.
Johnathan
Using a horse skull as a mask, he demonstrates his power and skill of wits and guns. Working throughout the time of the revolution, John frees slaves and kills whoever gets in his way for justice.
He shows no mercy in his killings, his signature gun is used to put down the cruel and the racist.
Sketlar
A stalker, no more, no less.
He’s nice in a way, but once he gets obsessed he gets really interested in it. He just wants to talk-no-he wants to see them-no-he wants to hug them-no-he wants to-
He used the shadow of his hoodie to cover his face, very dangerous if provoked.
Molar
A dentist, a good one at that, but comes off very creepy.
Very professional in his job, his workers and parents appreciate his work although his personality needs to be worked on. His name comes from the many molars that he has in his mouth, too many to count actually. Jack often avoids him and has too many bad experiences with dentists to trust him.
He wears a head mirror to cover his face.
Mann
A teacher who works hard to make sure that every student passes their class!
He watches intently to make sure that happens, not a mistake will be made on his part. He is respected but even the other teachers and parents have their opinions about the alien, but for everyone’s sake, they keep it to themselves.
He doesn't wear a mask, his form isn't as corrupted as the others are. But that may be due to the fact he still has relations with his race despite it being unlawful.
Cuuoirs
The unclaimed ‘brother’ of Mann, Cuuoris is seen as...different from their species.
They’re ‘special’ as Mann would put it, directing them away from the tv with jingling keys. Their attention was soon overcome with something else entirely as it always was.
They wear no mask much like Mann but are always watched by their species, always asked if they desire to be perfected again. But they are always led away by something else proving how difficult it can be for their race.
Pan
A drug dealer that is known for his brutal tactics against anyone who opposed him, Pan shows no mercy for his enemies.
He's intelligent, quick on his feet, manipulative, and will cause a scene to get what he wants. Although he never tries out any of his products, whether it does not affect him or he doesn't want to get addicted no one knows.
But wearing the skull of an ape as a mask, Pan is a figure no one wants to mess with within the criminal underworld.
Twig and Branch
Twins raised and taken in by Pan, the two silent brothers only speak as one when the time is necessary.
They’re fast and do the job done only if Pan allows them to. Their loyalty to the drug dealer knows no bounds as they will kill innocents to make his point known. Yet, as brothers, they both watch out for each other and make sure the other is safe and sound.
Both wear deer skulls as masks, both were found mere inches from each other when Pan took them in. With their new identities, the two now show their purpose through loyalty and brutality.

"Oh boy wouldn't he. He needs a vacation sometimes doesn't he?" Saya pointed out as she looked up at Peach. Though now that she thinks about it, the wolf realized that she would have to deal with the big King Koopa herself one day. But she knew she would be prepared for when it does happen if ever.
"Oh Strawberry? That sounds really good. And sure we can leave anytime, you're the one holding me anyway."
Tumblr media
“ Oh, plenty. The. Again, I think all of us need a vacation, every so often. At least vacations that I don’t result in unlawful arrests, that is. “ Isle Delfino May have been pretty, but man did it’s law system need improvements. Poor Mario.
“ Excellent! Well, let’s be on our way, then! “ Normally, just carrying her around like this would’ve been a smooth and slow process…but considering the whole cat suit she had on, at the moment, this was going to be a bumpy ride.
The wall climbing and flips made that INCREDIBLY apparent.
