OK, I seriously can't believe someone actually thinks this about season 4 of Never Have I Ever:
"In 2023, the message of the show suddenly turned into *"racism, white supremacy, patriarchy, and class inequity doesn't exist anymore. Devi did a Bollywood dance, got into Princeton, and a racist white guy said he loves her at the last minute, so everything is going to be okay (for Gen Z)."*
This is the opposite of the premise that the show started with in 2020, which acknowledged the brutal unfairness in the world."
Firstly, it wasn't a Bollywood dance. They danced to the Tamil dubbed version of a song that is originally Telugu. Tamil cinema is known as Kollywood, and Telugu cinema is known as Tollywood. Maybe people who comment so much on racism should learn a little more about not clubbing all of Indian culture together. As a Telugu woman who lives in Tamil Nadu, I'd like to say that I was really happy with the dance number. I was especially happy because it wasn't a Bollywood dance (season 1 just used Hindi songs, and that really annoyed me because Devi is Tamil).
The show literally acknowledged that Devi ("our little hothead from the valley") was happy in that moment. There was no claim about everything being okay forever. It's just that she is better equipped to deal with problems now. She will continue to grow non-linearly, just like she did throughout the show.
Of course, the show became less about dealing with intense grief as it went on - time heals. But they did portray that grief still lingers, despite that.
Also, the portrayal of familial relationships was great - Devi talking about how it's cool to live with three generations of women in her house, Nalini having to deal with empty nest syndrome, Nalini talking about her own struggle with having to start over in the US after being a top resident in India (but of course, the last season does not acknowledge how brutally unfair the world is /s) and how she was just trying to protect Devi from being devastated, Devi setting her mother up (showing how much she had healed and grown since season 2), Kamala being too attached to her family to move away and Nalini telling her that change is good (and even Kamala's coping mechanism of becoming overprotective of Nirmala), Kamala and Devi's sweet moments, the family's acceptance and joyous celebration of Nirmala finding love again, Nirmala calling Nalini out for being mean to Devi, and of course, the heartwarming scene of Nalini helping Devi pack and telling her she's proud of her. Devi's final monologue focused primarily on how much she cares about her mother. Did all of that mean nothing to some people?
Never Have I Ever is not an unproblematic show. But I still can't believe it's being reduced to this. I. Seriously. Just. Can't. Devi was so much more comfortable in her skin than when the show started, and was no longer obsessed with external validation. Her relationship with Nalini had improved greatly. She embraced her culture so much more. She was okay with not getting into Princeton, and realised that she'd always be connected to her father no matter what. I don't mind that she didn't completely give up on her Princeton dream. I don't think she needed to, to show that she had healed. She was able to tell her dad's story in a way that felt true to herself, and did not feel exploitative (she reclaimed her power from a racist white guy). She was truly happy when she prayed to the gods before leaving to Princeton. She was surrounded by people who cared about her and loved her, as she said. And she was happily in the middle of a fun game of Never Have I Ever before Ben showed up. She had learned to love herself and her life. The show having a happy (for now) ending does not equal them saying that everything is going to be okay forever. The world is still brutally unfair. Devi is just a little better at dealing with it.
I don't know who needs to hear this but Never Have I Ever had a TEAM DEVI ending! Just because Devi was not single at the end of the show/ended up with someone you dislike, it doesn't mean that the ending wasn't a win for team Devi.
TEAM DEVI FOR THE WIN! AND THAT'S WHAT WE GOT.
I'll acknowledge that there were issues with the show throughout all four seasons. But I can't see such an empowering show being dismissed in such a ridiculous way.

[BECAUSE it's sth i've been thinking about a LOT lately.] bollywood started out very misogynistic. every time i watch an old movie, while i acknowledge the exceptions, most of them either show a woman who'd sleep with anyone for money or show a woman who's literally just a slave, that's IT. it took YEARS for it to make movies that don't show women in a bad light, that actually appreciate us. and apparently that lasted like, 10 years? (on and off, yk, in total) because now, everyone seems more interested in movies that have women as an accessory, looking pretty, not playing any active role, while her man does his job. *hearts and fire* while good, unproblematic movies get criticised for having "unrealistic expectations" or "too much feminism". they're so obsessed with all that "alpha" "sigma" "masculine" bullshit. it's so. pathetic. so fucking infuriating. yeah-
hard agree. like the english vinglish, queen, kahaani era was truly the peak of women centric bollywood movies. after that even though such movies were still being made, they shifted from being empowering to being condescending. like if you are a strong independent woman, then you must drink and hook up with random men and wear revealing clothes and whatnot. the feminism became too focused on the urban young woman and lost its essence in my opinion. like i can name so many popular recent film/series (4 more shots, thank you for coming, veere di wedding) which are just trying so hard to be relatable that they end up feeling tone deaf and people start hating them and going back to the same old bullshit heroine is an accessory movies (this also means that the actual good movies (qala, bulbull, etc) just go under the radar which is equally irritating 🙄).
as far as the sigma male thing goes, i am so so tired of these directors and actors showing toxic behaviour on screen without showing its fucking consequences. like the man can do anything and the director will make sure that he has a happy ending cause true love is obviously all about forgiveness and accepting everything even if it hurts you. salman khan, akshay kumar, srk, ranbir kapoor, literally every hero rn is guilty of accepting and promoting such scripts. like even in jawaan, there were 5-6 actresses yet srk had all the fkn screentime. i get he's a big actor but god?? give the actresses something other than a song???? maybe a few emotions??? don't even get me started on kabir singh and animal and even pushpa. 🙄

FIGHTER REVIEW: NOT GREAT BUT GOOD ENOUGH!
After watching the movie in the cinemas, I finally caught the movie on NETLFIX on 21st of March, and felt it was time to review this movie.
This movie has all my favourite people. Everyone knows I have been a big Hrithik Roshan fan, and in recent times I have been in love with Karan Singh Grover (KSG).
It was fun to see them together!
Tumblr media
However, I really wish this casting happened a bit sooner. When I was at the peak of the obsession of both them. That would have been so much fun.
The movie starts off simple. But dips a little in screenplay with the extensive dinner sequence, which in my head made no sense. Fat shaming two women who were trying to have their biryani is not what I expect of a 21st century Bollywood movie on Air Force Pilots.
Later, the makers establish the bond of the Air Force Pilots while "HEER AASMANI" plays!
Tumblr media
This sequence is effective. And I felt there was a need to have our very own DESI movie based on Air Force. Especially since they do a commendable job in keeping India safe.
Later there are a sequence of events in which Hrithik Roshan's character (Patty) is more concerned about showing his superiority; showing people down and the movie proving a point that everyone is inadequate apart from him in this team.
Not only Patty is obsessed with being arrogant and not following protocol; his whole team is about enabling him; especially KSG's character Taj. The only voice of reason in the whole movie is Anil Kapoor's character Rocky who has the guts to call a spade a spade. But that does not stop Patty from pouting and acting like a useless victim.
The movie goes on to show some more bonding sequences and some romantic scenes between Patty and Mini (Deepika); but in vain, as these two for some reason could not establish any chemistry according to me.
I did enjoy their dream song sequence though; it was a nice detour, I liked their aesthetic bodies and costumes. The audio had a nice early 2000s vibe to it which was enjoyable.
Later the movie takes a serious turn by showing the PULWAMA attack. And from here the movie became way too anti-pakistani and jingoistic.
After this the movie became dead for me, apart from the air sequences and the very aesthetic “SHER KHUL GAYE” nothing is to write home about beyond that.
Tumblr media
What works for the movie?
Good Actors, Good looking faces, Good songs, really good background score, especially the score: VANDEMATRAM, which hits you in the feels every time it is played.
What doesn't work for the movie?
jingoism, lack of a screenplay and chemistry, Hrithik Roshan's character having no character growth whatsoever. Even by the end of the movie he doesn't take ownership for his actions; instead the movie and his character are still hell bent on proving that all mistakes are fine if you are the "best" at what you do.
Performances:
Hrithik could have done better. Anil Kapoor's character made sense and he did complete justice to his character. Deepika had nothing much to do and was wasted. Karan Singh Grover was good with whatever he was given.
Overall:
I would give this movie 3.5/5. It is watchable, and in recent time with such terrible movies coming out this one sticks out as a decent flick.

Sharan Dhaliwal is an openly bisexual British-Indian writer, journalist and activist. Dhaliwal is the founder and editor of Burnt Roti, a South Asian magazine. She also created Oh Queer Cupid, a queer speed dating and comedy night, in addition to founding and directing Middlesex Pride. Dhaliwal’s memoir Burning My Roti: Breaking Barriers as a Queer Indian Woman was published this year.
Since Burnt Roti’s inception, I came out as bisexual and realised that a lot of the reason that I had held back from living my true life was because of the way I grew up. I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t a continued pained experience for others, so I started to focus on LGBTQ+ stories, and out of that have created Middlesex Pride. It’s the first Pride event for Middlesex – I want to focus on discussions and education. I grew up in Southall and Hounslow and, along with many other South Asian people, was immersed in a very traditional life. When I came out, I noticed messages from people thanking me for doing it, but also telling me that they can not – I learnt that a lot of these people lived in the Middlesex area. There’s a severe lack of LGBTQ+ visibility in communities there and that creates two things – a lot of people don’t understand what sexuality means for the LGBTQ+ community and tend to focus on sexual acts or HIV. It means that the stigma attached to it causes young people to stifle themselves, sometimes exacerbating mental health issues. Another thing it does it creates a doubt in the minds of those who are discovering their sexuality. If it isn’t discussed or taken seriously, it must not be real. People could live a long time (like myself), keeping any feelings or desires to themselves. My mental health suffered, I was in various relationships I didn’t actually want to be in and I was stuck in a destructive pattern of getting with someone, disliking the situation and leaving it soon after.
So attitudes towards sex and sexuality where you grew up were a little guarded?
There’s a stigma around sex and sexual acts (like with much of society), and it’s considered ‘dirty’. Talking about our bodies is seen as ‘disgusting’ – including puberty and menstruation. A lot of South Asian womxn learn to keep to themselves – never asking questions and never really learning more than they’re told. It’s changing a little, but there are still remnants of it there, which I want to break down. Older generations would, for example, say that they never heard of the word ‘lesbian’ before. There’s not really a word that translates in the Punjabi language now (I’m not sure if that’s changed over time) but there is a language barrier. Teaching certain words, what they mean and what effect they would (and wouldn’t) have on them is important. There’s still stigmas and negative connotations, but it needs to be broken down and explained.
So, being bi! What are your experiences like as a bi woman of colour in 2019?
Ok so let’s talk about fetishisation. The first woman I went on a proper date with was a white American, who seemed to have an obsession with Indians. I’m not gonna lie, I ignored the red flag from her text which popped up on my phone in all caps “I REALLY WANT AN INDIAN”. At first I wondered if she was Indian, and then she spent the rest of the day texting me about Bollywood films, as if I knew nothing about them. It felt strange. But I was incredibly attracted to her and just wanted to go on a date, so I did. She didn’t speak too much about Indian stuff then, but the texts continued – she wanted me to teach her Hindi. I suddenly felt like I was working as an unpaid language tutor. For some reason, I expected to experience fetishisation from cis men, not from the LGBTQ+ community – it was that naivety that was the biggest blow. I’ve had struggles being specifically bi on dating apps – lesbians haven’t taken me seriously. I’ve had some unmatch me because they assumed I was just “messing around” on the app. I’m now in a relationship with a woman and it feels amazing – she doesn’t question my bisexuality, she knows I want to be with her. It’s not just the lesbian community – there are bad eggs everywhere. But bisexuality is definitely considered a ‘half assed attempt at being gay’.
How did your family react when you came out?
My dad had a pure and wholesome reaction, where he quoted me verbatim “Sharan, sexuality is fluid” and I lost it. Firstly, credit me when you quote me, secondly I don’t even know if he knows what he’s saying. But bless him, he doesn’t care about my sexual preference, he just wants me to be happy. My mother had a strange reaction – she jumped between disliking it and not caring. I think she thinks there’s fifty per cent chance I will marry a man, so she’s just relying on that. I don’t want to get into maths with her, so I just let her be for now. But a big part of Middlesex Pride is to allow her and others like her to find out more about what it means to want to be with someone who isn’t the ‘expected gender’. I want her to know it’s okay if I don’t marry a cis man. In fact, I’m going to marry my girlfriend, so she has to be on board or she won’t get to hang out with her grandkids lol.

Review: Eega (2012)
Eega (The Fly) (2012)
Rated UA by the Central Board of Film Certification (rough MPAA equivalent: PG-13)
Tumblr media
<Originally posted at https://kevinsreviewcatalogue.blogspot.com/2023/03/review-eega-2012.html>
Score: 4 out of 5
This past Friday, Popcorn Frights gave me my introduction to Tollywood cinema (no, not Bollywood -- same country, different language) in the form of Eega, one of the films that S. S. Rajamouli wrote and directed before RRR made people outside India start taking notice of him. An effects-driven fantasy action-comedy about a man who gets murdered, gets reincarnated as a fly, and sets out to take revenge on the man who killed him, its plot and tone felt reminiscent of the old '90s family comedy Mouse Hunt, only jacked up to a downright insane level courtesy of both some genuine edge to its plot and a truly great villain performance by Sudeepa that managed to cross language barriers. This was a wild movie, and while the first act was pretty weird in how it framed the romance that ultimately becomes a key driving force in the story, once the part with the fly got going I was too busy laughing my socks off and being impressed by some of the visuals that they managed to cook up on a fairly small budget (roughly $6-7 million US). It's on Netflix, so if you wanna see something absolutely wacky that's nonetheless an actual good movie as well, check this one out.
Our protagonist Nani is an ordinary man who's madly in love with his next-door neighbor Bindu, a miniatures artist whose day job is running an NGO that assists local schools, a feeling that she's finally starting to notice and reciprocate. Seeking to raise money for her organization, Bindu reaches out to Sudeep, a sleazy, womanizing local land developer who uses the promise of funding in an attempt to make Bindu his new wife -- and when he notices that Bindu also has eyes for Nani, Sudeep decides to kill the lowly worker in order to get him out of the way. Unfortunately for Sudeep, even death can't stop Nani's love, as he's reincarnated as a fly who fully remembers his past life and sets out to make Sudeep's life a living hell, slowly driving him mad as he starts to believe in the "crazy" idea that a fly has developed a grudge against him.
The first half-hour or so was a mixed bag, less due to the film's technical qualities (it could actually be quite charming, especially with the obligatory musical number) and more due to how it presented Nani's unreciprocated love for Bindu. To put it as nicely as possible, he's depicted as something close to a stalker in his constant attempts to get her attention, to the point that even his roommate calls him out for it, and yet it's presented as just a goofy character quirk even though, in real life, there's a reason why women get uneasy about that sort of behavior. Yes, this movie comes from a different time (2012 was just coming out of a golden age for pickup artistry) and a different country, and the film is self-aware about it and makes Nani the butt of the joke as much as anyone, but it's still kind of off-putting, especially given that it's implied that Bindu really was just playing hard to get and does eventually fall for him by the end of the first act. If I'd written their dynamic, I would've focused more on Bindu being an upwardly-mobile middle-class artist and professional and Nani being a working-class laborer, making it a situation where Bindu clearly has affection for Nani but is afraid of being judged for dating below her status, a dynamic that would've played nicely into Bindu's interactions with the wealthy villain Sudeep who wants to claim her as his trophy wife. Instead, the way it came across felt like an obsessive romantic successfully wearing down the object of his affection because she's decided that the alternative is worse, even if the film did at least have some self-awareness about how Nani was acting.
That said, once Nani dies and comes back, a lot of that fades into the background in favor of a nonstop mix of hilarious comic set pieces and genuinely entertaining action scenes. Rajamouli gives this movie a style and flair you don't normally see in fantasy comedies coming out of Hollywood, with the numerous effects shots especially making up for their low budget with a measure of cartoony stylization that goes well with what's (mostly) a very family-friendly film. Nani has as much lovable character as a fly as he did as a human, arguably moreso given that we're no longer shown his stalker-ish tendencies, while Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Bindu carries the entirety of their relationship as she has to spend most of the movie pretending that the love of her life is now inhabiting the body of a fly, complete with outfitting him with protective goggles to resist bug spray and tiny metal claws to let him scratch at things. Some moments in this movie get wild, from our introduction to Fly!Nani first learning how to be a fly by traveling through a park to him harassing a traffic cop to cause gridlock in an intersection to the bit where Sudeep hires a witch doctor named Tantra to possess two birds to send after the fly. This movie's mix of action and slapstick comedy is bursting with creativity, constantly coming up with new ways to make me laugh myself silly.
While the fly may be the main character, this movie would not have worked nearly as well as it did without the mononymous actor Sudeepa playing the film's main villain, the very similarly named Sudeep (without the "a"). Sudeep is a caricature of a yuppie scumbag, a guy who we're introduced to skeet shooting while hitting on a woman who's later revealed to be another man's wife, such that he makes Nani look like a downright catch in comparison. The torment he receives from the fly over the course of the film may be over-the-top, but he makes it clear throughout that he deserves every bit of it, seeing other people as props and NPCs in his own story and not caring who he hurts. What's more, Sudeepa clearly had a lot of fun playing this guy who's slowly losing his mind as a little fly refuses to leave him be. He felt like a rich douchebag out of an '80s Hollywood comedy who, whether he's the hero or the villain, is above all else the butt of every joke as the movie finds new ways to creatively torture him both physically and mentally, and his ultimate comeuppance at the end was very well-deserved.
(Also, if American blockbusters insist on getting longer and longer, maybe they should imitate the Indian moviegoing tradition of having an intermission. Popcorn Frights didn't actually do the intermission for this and jumped straight into the second half, and frankly, at 2 hours and 14 minutes this one wasn't too long, but still.)
The Bottom Line
Eega was an extremely charming and hilarious movie that had some rough edges early on, but otherwise made a great introduction for yours truly to both S. S. Rajamouli and Indian cinema in general, and earns my recommendation.

atm i am obsessed with three bollywood things and those are
1. that one scene in k3g where that guy asks poo to go to the movies and she goes “tell me how it waaaassss!!!” i’m so obsessed with how she says it. i’m not joking when i say that i play that clip on loop sometimes. it’s so good. i love her dearly.
2. “my name is SHEILA, SHEILA KI JAWANI, I’M TOO SEXY FOR YOU” i have never seen this movie but dear LORD this song goes hard and i love the say she says it
3. while watching k3g i was explaining the singing voice overs and stuff to my dad and said something about how shreya goshal does a ton of them and then later while listening to ye ishq hai i looked at the credits and realized holy shit. this is also shreya goshal. she’s everywhere. (which is fair actually because her voice is gorgeous)

Ms.Marvel S1E3
I've been so obsessed with the Kenobi series today/lately that for the first time in ages I actually needed the 'previously on' feature. I'm not sure it's wise for Disney to drop both SW and MCU content on the same day.
Enjoyed the first real look we got at the villains and possibly Kamala's origin: the bangle on a severed blue arm, in a ruined temple with the Ten Rings symbols, back in the 40s. Intriguing way to start. They're suitably terrifying later on too, and I'm glad they didn't keep up the friendly pretense too long either. No one was buying that.
Not so sure about the whole 'djinn' thing though. The scientific/comic book explanation about beings from another dimension is cool, but djinn? Hmmm.
The best part of this show is the family. I've already raved about the dad, and he was awesome again. We got a bit more from the brother too and he seems sweet. But the mom this time... That scene in the bathroom made me miss my own mom. She wasn't at all like Mrs.Khan, and I never had a convo like that with her, but ugh, moms.
The wedding was lovely to see. Brown Jovi, fantastic. The dance routine was absolutely joyful. It makes Kingo's Bollywood scene in Eternals look even worse now.
I know it's a superhero show and by definition unrealistic, but for a guy who has 700 dollars in the bank, that was a very fancy wedding!
Seeing Bruno once again at a family function, I have to wonder: is he really in love with Kamala or does he just want to be a part of this family 'for real'? I sort of hope it's the latter and they reassure him he already is, because I'm not holding out hope for a romance. Not sure it'd be the best for either one of them.
As for Kamran, at this point I'm only (vaguely) interested in him because I read an interview with his actor and Iman Vellani, and they compared the character to the Winter Soldier. Iman's a Marvel fan, so it made me curious, but so far I don't see it tbh.

I know many people do not know about this movie but I'll still share it and tell my experience watching the Kannada-language movie, "777 Charlie"...
__
I have seen a lot of movies that features animals and their bond with humans. Obviously the most common were Hollywood movies such as 101 Dialamations, A Dog's Purpose, A Dog's Way Home, and others including Dr. Dolittle and even I Am Legend starring Will Smith. The first one must be either 101 Dialamations or Dr. Dolittle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I come across a very few movies in Hindi circuit of movies that does such a task. Examples include Entertainment, Dil Dhadakne Do (not per se a bond but still), Bollywood classic Teri Meherbaaniyan, and a small yet important role played by a German Shepherd in Salman Khan and Dia Mirza starrer Tumko Naa Bhul Paayenge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am reminded of the music video of Marshmello's song "Happier" (with Bastille voice and Miranda Cosgrove act as a teenager finding happiness in her Labrador dog). I cried the first time I watched the video and still feels like this whenever I see that music video and hear the song.
Tumblr media
As I mentioned earlier, I have a really little, and tbh, almost no experience in coming across wonderful movies in our Indian Film Industry, featuring a bond between a human and an animal.
#777Charlie announcement and trailer gave me a feeling that this movie might bring a new trend for such movies with its impact on box office or basically excellence in creating such a feature film.

As I stepped into the theatre, I knew it is definitely going to be one of the best human-animal bond movies and going to give me an emotional ride. That happened. It did gave me an emotional ride.
TBH, like most commercially made action movies from South India and even Bollywood so often, this movie too had some glimpse into action, but not so much, and definitely no unnecessary show of action put for no reason, and most importantly, it was not as if the main lead is fighting 10 people at a single time and defeating them all with a single blow (which usually happens with most commercial action movies). Only a few instances.
Was the focus on the main lead too much? I'd say, it was not. In most and almost every commercially driven movies has a obsession to keep focusing on the male lead, following his narrative and almost make people worship him. In 777 Charlie, movie begins with the bitch (yes, it's a female dog) and ends with a representation of a human-animal bond.
Storyline in 777 Charlie might feel at times pretty predictable. I felt it's going to be a ripped off version of "A Dog's Way Home". But, it was not. Before interval everything's going well and almost predictable to what's happening, but after interval, I too was having this constant train of thought, wondering what's going to happen. Basically, the movie has an element of surprise, and suspense while giving twists a few times.
The adventure that both bitch, named Charlie, and the main lead, named Dharma, ventured on... Wasn't just limited to a road trip. I won't give details but seeing the movie, and seeing the duo of Charlie-Dharma coming across different scenarios and situations will definitely give you adventurous feeling, that too with your pet. Wow.
Acting by everyone in the movie was good. The comedy didn't feel forced. Neither the dialogues were sleazy or cheap to make anything funny, nor such characters were there who will act stupidly just to make audience laugh on their stupidness. Everything in the movie felt natural.
About acting performance, I shouldn't forget to leave behind mentioning about two artists in front of the camera. First is the actor playing the role of main lead, named Dharma, whose real-life name is Rakshit Shetty. I don't know much about him, and have only read about him a little, only due to this movie. As of now, I haven't watched his movies. Seeing him in this movie today, I'm excited to watch more of his work in other movies. I've heard about Rakshit Shetty's uncanny and unique choices of movies, and his work as an actor. It was his acting that sparked emotions in me and worked as an outlet of, perhaps, what I'm feeling. His acting was so genuinely good that we can feel his pain and happiness both with him, especially in the scenes where he's interacting with Charlie. The second actor, or better say, actress was the bitch (female dog) who played the role of Charlie. I mean, pfft, I know real credits goes to the trainers but hey, I'm talking about the one who acted. I don't know yet what's her actual name though. I know that if it wasn't for this bitch to act so well, I wouldn't be laughing, smiling, and crying as much as I did today watching her scenes play out.
Movie's technicalities were also good. Music, cinematography and editing... Trio of these aspects made all the performances in the movie like putting icing on the cake or cherry on the top. I really like the idea all these technical aspects didn't make the movie too stale to watch, rather accompanied the story with great interest.
As aforesaid, I knew this movie is going to be an emotional ride for sure, and I expect to get emotional time to time. Obviously, it's a sweet innocent and beautiful movie about an animal who fills happiness in the life of a loner, an anti-social guy who is a kind human being, and an absolute sweetheart keeping love for everyone, but trying to keep distance from people and is dealing with his trauma or depression. (Can't say).
Now, what I didn't expect was that I'll be sobbing and crying so much, even after movie ended that one of the guys sitting right beside me would have to give me his last sip of water to drink. Thanks to him BTW. A real kind human being 🌼
777 Charlie is out in the theatres. I'm obviously not saying that watch this movie now and anyhow. Well, do if you can. But do watch when it'll be available on OTT platform as it will also be having English subtitles then, making it easier to reach a wider audience who are ready to enjoy it.
Thank you for reading till this point. This is the first time I have written such a long blog post. Again, I appreciate you giving your time. I wish you the best for your life and your aspirations. ❤️
Lastly, on that note, I also intent to use the above-mentioned post as a script to the review video on 777 Charlie with a few changes. Later 🙂
Updated: attached link below to the review video on 777 Charlie. I'm happy to see that everyone's liking the review. I'm glad I wrote this blog post. Do watch and let me know how you like it ☺️

Hiii ! It's for the Red String of Fate Event! SORRY IT'S KINDA LONG
[My name is Miyo/Emery Creepypasta/Marble hornets, All prns but preferably him, mmh.... romantic I guess, FRENCH AND GYPSY !, Scopophobia, Thalassophobia,]
Hello ! How are you today my dear ?
I loove walking in nature gives me an intense feeling of happiness! I prefer a date while strolling in a forest, a pond or something like that than going to a fancy restaurant or a cinema! I like to cook and pamper myself sometimes, I really like to take care of my hair. I like to laugh, really laughing with those I love does me so much good! I would sound a little pretentious if I said that I don't judge ANYBODY but like ANYBODY really. no matter how much you do the most disgusting things, I wouldn't stick my nose in and say "uuhm, no.." I'll rather be like "I'm not really into that but.. That's cool for you!" and being 100% honest and having no ulterior motives. I also love to draw and I'm pretty good at speaking, I like positive reviews and boosting people's egos. I really like people with scars, it makes them special, it makes them more unique when they don't cover them up, scars make them unique because they are there to testify. I love the sweetness :)! AND I LOVE++ TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE, EVEN THOSE WHO WANT ME DEAD <3 I also like to learn new things, and obviously: I love God <3 I am a Christian :) but not homophobic ! I'm actually lgbtq+.. What I don't like: s*x obsessed people who kinda force me ? I'll be like "I don't mind but please calm down-".. arguments/compromises, extremely closed-minded people, people who absolutely don't respect beliefs too. P*d*philia, lgbtphobia, z**philia. there aren't many things I don't like..- judging people too.
Passion: Cooking, helping???, photography, especially nature <3, singing, art, animals, performing, dancing! (I do flamenco and soon bollywood), write, read?, music, I play a little piano
Other details: I have too broad an open mind, I accept everyone, even people who are not very acceptable, even if sometimes I don't support what they are doing, I say to myself "it's not my life, they're happy ".
An more detailled intro of myself :
Well I see myself as someone deambivert, see more extroverted. I'm a shy, crazy friend on my own. I really like to approach the conversation. My priorities are to laugh, share, be comfortable, chill. As long as I'm having fun and we're having fun, I don't ask for anything more. I tend to simplify things, it can be positive and negative. I happen to be a little ambiguous, sometimes I'm going to want to be a mature and well-behaved little boy and at other times I would like to behave like a little jerk. I'm still looking for myself but I don't know how to find myself. I am thirsty to learn whether it is others to me or me to others. I'm quite positively talkative. I am comprehensive. I'm here if there's a problem, but don't expect me to cry with you. In the relationship it is reciprocity: you are nice I am nice, you do things intelligently I do things intelligently, you are a bastard I block you, etc. If we get confused I would have a hard time apologizing, I will rather do small nice actions to make myself forgiven and then apologize. I am very indecisive and I often rely on others to describe me and give their opinions on me or even make decisions for me. I need music or art to escape. But the most important thing for me: THIRST TO LEARN and THIRST FOR FREEDOM I need interest in others. I really like psychology!
Facts: I am Aquarius, INFP-T, I don't really like Jeff ? But i don't hate him if he wants to piss me off i'll be like "No prob 👍" but i feel like he won't give respect to ANYONE, and no LJ his creator is a b-, IT'S REALLY HARD FOR ME TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF I'M NOT FEELING GOOD IN THE SHOWER OR WITH MIRRORS.
[Disclaimer: The Red String of Fate event is a special event I'm running from August 12th, to whenever I feel it necessary to end - right now, I'm giving it to the first week of September! Check out rules HERE]
[AN: G*psy is a slur! DO NOT USE IT unless you are Roma.]
[also also, the more you guys tell me not to pair you with someone the more likely I am to put you with them just because. You cannot sway me in your favor I am watching you. /lh /hj]
The old god looks at the letter you've written him with a brow raised. There are no offerings, and it's written more like a personal dating ad than it is what he's used to, but the names listed down on what you don't want have him confused. He knows everyone that has ever existed, all the way to the first humans created by Nuwa herself. So who on Pangu's earth are you even talking about? Jeff and LJ?
He pets Bao who rests on his lap and reads over the contents of the letter with him, unsure of who to place you with. He sees mention of the Christian god and while he does not actively speak to YHWH Themself, he holds the god in high regard like he would any other deity. Perhaps he should ask YHWH, or would that be annoying when this is generally regarded as his sphere of work? He sighs softly to himself and pulls a spool from his pocket and ties it to your finger.
He looks around for someone he believes would suit you. No, no, far too serious and outside of your comfort zone, no... Yue Lao takes in a soft breath and pulls out his book to thumb over the names. He almost finds the people that you wish to be paired with far too much for someone like you, too out of your element. But then someone pops through and he assumes that this match would be relatively auspicious. An odd man, a murderer, by the name of Helen Otis.
He ties the two of you together and watches as the string materializes on the two of you, a small smile on his face. He's seen matches that are hard to make before, but usually it's because the person he wants to pair you with is specific. He believes, to the best of his abilities, that this man would suit you well. Bao herself seems pleased too. He watches as Helen wakes in the morning and begins to follow the odd thing out, only a matter of time until he finds you on the other end.

Who are your favorite dilfs in romance books?
Tremont from M is for Marquess by Grace Callaway: He's a widower with a son Thea saves from getting kidnapped by his governess; Tremont's also been obsessed with Thea since he met her but is *too afraid* to act on his feelings because he's *depraved* and Thea's *so innocent*. Spoiler alert: she isn't and she isn't going to let her poorish health and asthma stop her from being with this man; there's a light M/s dynamic, and it's also very reminiscent of Win and Kev from Seduce Me At Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas.
Max from My Dirty Duke by Joanna Shupe: Max is Violet’s ne'er-do-well dad’s equally slutty friend; He’s 41 and has a teenage son and she’s 18 and he’s been frantically avoiding her since the start of her season until she corners him by pretending to be his paramour. She’s also very into photography and ye olde nudes are taken (front AND back).
Haddon from Wicked Again by Kathleen Ayers: Haddon is 40 and has a teenage daughter and Marissa is 49 with three(?) grown sons. He seduces her at a house party (in the beginning of the book!) and wants more but Marissa is busy enacting revenge plots against the family that killed her husband. He attempts to get close again by asking her to help him with his daughter's debut, but ultimately what does the trick is him dicking her down multiple times while telling her "we're MORE than a fling".
Sinclair from Rules for a Proper Governess by Jennifer Ashley: Sinclair McBride aka BASHER MCBRIDE is a BLOND widowed barrister who hires the gal who tries to pickpocket him as his children's governess because she has a way with them. Bertie is super fascinated with him and actually kinda stalks him (which is how she gets the job lol) and there's this really funny part where she's suuuuper jealous of his widowed lady friend and freaks out on him, only for it to end with him SUCKING THREE OF HER FINGERS IN HER MOUTH. Insanely hot, v unexpected.
Simon from The Secret She Kept in Bollywood by Tara Pammi: Suuuuch a dilf, I mean really, who else could successfully calm a random woman having a panic attack on the floor, and then tenderly make love to her like 10 seconds later in such a smooth transition? Simon is also the adoptive father of Anya's biological daughter who she had as a teenager and gave up, not that either of them know that when they hook up.
Enzo from Mafia Madman by Mila Finelli: okay but for all his insanity and propensity to lock Gia up in his yacht cage, Enzo is actually a good dad who's really cut up about having to be separated from his kids for their own safety; there's this really interesting bit where he's telling Gia about teaching his daughter how to ride a two-wheeler and Gia's sadly thinking about how her dad never taught her :( and that's a peak dilf/dad/daddy moment for me.
Here are some that are specifically ex's dad (so totally dilfs) books:

“I do not hold grudges against anyone, have made my peace with it, says Priyanka Chopra on people who cornered her
Global star Priyanka Chopra is happy with all she has touched in her life and does not hold grudges with anyone. She even doesn’t hate those who cornered her in the past.
Recently Priyanka gave an interview against Bollywood which made quite a controversy. She was on an international podcast wherein the actress talked about how she was cornered by people in the Bollywood which ultimately resulted in her leaving the Bollywood. She however refrained from naming anyone.
The revelation made a ripple in the B-town and caught attention of many. Priyanka, now while attending a promotional event of her upcoming series Citadel in Mumbai on Monday, said that she is finally in peace with people behaving with her in this way and does not hold grudges.
Priyanka was asked why she chose to speak on this topic after so many years have passed, the actress said, "On that podcast I was asked about the journey of my life. I was talking about the truth of my journey, and I think now I was confident enough to talk about that phase of my life. I think now, where I am, I was okay enough to articulate what I felt." She added, "I had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred, but I forgave, I moved on a long time ago and then I made my peace with it. I think that's why it was easy for me to talk about it in an open manner."
Several people from the Bollywood fraternity are now reacting to Priyanka’s revelation.
Singer-composer Amaal Malik took to the Twitter and wrote, "Well it's something that I face on a daily basis. When fans ask me why I don't do as many Bollywood films? Now you know ;) The truth about campism, bootlicking & powerplay within #Bollywood needs to come out more often...See what they tried to do to this amazing woman..."
Actress Kangana Ranaut also supported Priyanka and tweeted, "Bolly kids grow up being obsessed with talent, their parents applaud their every word /move and they too start to believe that lie, until a gifted person shows up, smacking them right in their faces and raising the bar high, it challenges everything they ever believed."

I hate harping on this because, well, maybe it's because I watch too many movies, but - yet again - all that initially comes to mind is "predictable." (And, secondly, "dark/hard to see" - which isn't surprising for a 'horror' movie, but is definitely very fucking annoying.)
Maybe not the whole twist with Sara's character, but then, given that the opening scene indirectly spoiled that for us anyways (again, that entire thing was fucking pointless and just works to ruin the build-up; Bollywood's pathetic obsession with "flashback" startings needs to stop!), we knew one of two things: either this whole thing was "flashback" story from a now-dead/dyring girl, or we were going to get something similar to the Ajay Devgn/Riteish Deshmukh twist from Himmatwala. And, well, ... I guess at least it wasn't entirely flashback...
But the main plot here - entirely predictable. Like, kudos for the casting, I guess - Rahul Dev is usually evil, the guy playing the doctor is frequently evil, and they make the Rana guy look evil from the start, so plenty of suspects that you start suspecting immediately (which, in an ideal setting, would make it hard to immediately guess the ending/involved). Especially because Bollywood loves typecasting some people as "good" and some as "bad" and doesn't frequently want to reverse that in any big way (see the multiple times Deepika switches sides in Race 2 and Pathaan, for example; or the gender switch in turning Contratiempo into Badla).
Speaking of Rana ... I guess 'gory' isn't the right word, but like, yikes. Also, why? What was the point of that?
But then - predictable. I mean, I figured it almost the minute the character showed up - but even if you exclude that knowledge that comes from having seen a couple other movies recently, the minute that they're searching the car and she's like "(Chitrangda's character) isn't working alone," it becomes very, very obvious. Of course, she doesn't get it, because the plot needs to happen, but ... still. Any viewer who is still questioning why they're "watching" the bits of this movie that they give a bit of light to will pick it up.
I get they were going for horror thriller (so I was already at a disadvantage cuz I don't care much for horror), and they definitely have a couple of "jump scare" scenes in there (maybe even more than a couple), but this love of "everything happens in the dark" is so fucking annoying because you can't see anything. They try to light things up a bit, but that just means we get constant flashes of light (what, is their like literally non-stop thunder going on outside?). Darkness, obviously, to build the horror, but like, when you can't see anything it is hard to get much from the movie.
Also, the obsession people have with living in super huge houses/mansions/castles - like, there's 2 people living in this place, plus the servants, and that first night, Sara's character travels like the length of a city within the house. And like - turn the fucking lights on when you're at home and awake! Why are the lights always off? (Also, and this might be a minor thing, but like, at no point does she seem at all uncertain about the insides of this massive house - which is, given the twist, hard to believe. I feel anyone that had lived there their whole lives would still get lost, and yet she's finding everything without issue.)
I don't know - when you're going to go with such a slow-paced, hard to see because of constantly flickering lights, 'twisty' story, I just feel it would be nice to maybe have people play out of their typical roles just a bit.
The 'consciousness' track shows up again - someone clearly isn't dealing with it well. Clearly part of this is done just to include that "horror" scene in the pool, and maybe the one near the very end, but like ... yeah, clearly not dealing with their own actions very well.
But, again: predictable. Like, switch it up. Maybe Sara's messing with them (I mean, as they main plot point, not just as a "how do we keep her alive in this story" twist). Maybe it's Rahul Dev and Vikrant Massey working together. Maybe it's the father, who blames his daughter for the not-fully-explained past events. Maybe it's the Doctor and Sara, trying to get revenge on Chitrangda (though that's probably somewhat predictable too).
