Love to Love You, Donna Summer is Nostalgic Peek into an Artist and Era
#DonnaSummer was the undisputed #QueenofDisco beloved by millions, but how much of a price did she pay personally and professionally ? @hbomax #lovetoloveyoudonnasummer #documentaries
Radio stations all over the country were inundated with disco hits in the 70’s ranging from Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” to K.C. and the Sunshine Band’s “Shake Your Booty,” but none of those artists can touch the ginormous impact made by Donna Summer when “Love to Love You, Baby” hit the airwaves. Currently streaming on HBO MAX, Love To Love You, Donna Summer  is an in-depth look at the…

Heya Bones, how’s dem wips goin for ya? Whatcha doin’ in that creative sphere of yurs?
Howdy do Crow!!!
There’s roughly a dozen fics that are stuck in WIP hell or abandoned but I dO got some neat stuff that I’m cookin up in my ol noggin:
There’s a Older Brother Danny to Bruce fic that I’m very slowly working on editing
A potential Danny meets Billy Batson comic that I may or may not complete since I accidentally planned it out to be over 20 pages long
Roughly ~120 minutes of recorded prompts that I gotta transcribe which’ll be fun to finally complete
Oh! And a funky little idea that @gilbirda helped inspire/create that I’m working on! It’s an Anger Management Drabble and here’s a lil sneak peak for ya ;)
Jazz looks at the angry mob and back at the ring. Sure, she could take on a few dozen goons and patients before getting overwhelmed, but with the ring she could do something about this. Protect the people she cared for, fight for what’s right.
Jazz puts on the ring.

🚨TW Abuse Mention🚨
Got bored and started watching the Dahmer Tapes on Netflix. I don’t know. I just kinda wanted to hear about it from him, Jeffrey Dahmer. I felt bad for him at first cause, ya know, no one is just born evil. Serial killers always have horrible childhoods full of some type abuse, and I think the reason serial killers were so common from the 1960s-90s is because child abuse was not considered a crime.
It was perfectly legal.
And a lot of people were fucked up by it, and according to the psychological theory of the cycle of abuse abuse victims are ten times more likely to grow up to become abusers themselves. Usually because of lack of mental healthcare.
So I just kinda feel like……Whenever I hear about a serial killer or something, I feel like its a tragic event for everyone involved including the killer. I mean, the fact that they had a terrible life doesn’t justify their actions at all. Its just that if people cared more about child abuse these things might have been prevented.
No one would have gotten hurt.
It makes me sick that I feel this way sometimes. It makes me wonder if I’m a monster because I feel empathy for these people. Then I remember the people they hurt — Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims, and I remember my grandfather and how I never really got closure when he died. I realized the victims’ families must feel that way every day since they lost their loved ones so abruptly, and it makes me ache for them because its not a feeling I would wish on anyone.
But any ounce of empathy I had left for Jeffrey Dahmer went out the fucking window when I heard him try to justify his crimes by saying he was the same as people who love horror movies. Fuck that fucking noise. That’s fucking sick.

Ooh the eagles are ahead now! I’ve been checking in on the scores all evening out of curiosity lol. I’m actually rooting for the eagles, I wanted them to win the superbowl and was so bummed when they lost. They just seem like a loveable team?

BBC took down own Modi documentary from Internet Archive Last week, Twitter removed posts about a BBC documentary, India: the Modi Question, which exposes and explores Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's involvement in the 2002 Gujarat riots in which more than 1000 people, mostly muslims, were killed. Twitter's censorship is readily explained, but the documentary was also removed from the Internet Archive. — Read the rest https://boingboing.net/2023/01/28/bbc-took-down-own-modi-documentary-from-internet-archive.html

Favorite documentary?
Serial killer is the toolbox killer or child of rage even though she didn't kill anyone its interesting how her anger manifested and how her treatment helped her find a peace.
Intellectual wise would be The Secret
Animals would be anything on animal planet but if I have to get specific raven and crows the smartest birds on the planet
Space wise is The Quantum theory
Psychology would be Heal, teaches mind and spiritual healing.
