The Magi discord I'm active in had another challenge that I got a bit to excited over. It was to have a character using a metal vessel for the first time so I decided to design a bunch of Full Body Djinn Equips. None of these ideas are finalized. Also, I didn't draw Mori with glasses here because lazy & I'm more likely to give Mori a Djinn in an Adventures AU where I'd also fix their need for glasses with magic. The designs have more thought behind them as they go on

1. The imp is the same species Zepar is

2. Is the same species as Furfur and few other Djinn shown with hooked horns and winged tails

3. Is based off of Djinn like Amon and Paimon which are just a human stereotype. The clothes are based off of some different Indian god depictions and other things that I think were probably used in a lot of the canon Djinn Equip designs

4. Is a crystal Djinn like Leraje. The crystal I chose is a type of quartz I think. I have a some small ones I got at a science museum when I was little. The placement of things etc. is heavily inspired by Kos-Mos from Xenosaga

5. Is a Bird Djinn like Focalor (raven), Zagan (Peacock) and Phoenix (unclear). I use the quetzal as the bird.

6. Aries is my zodiac sign and I was born the year of the Ram so I often draw myself with both goat and ram horns (I've seen this cross breed called a geep)

7. Son Goku. Once I found out about The Journey to the West and that it is the source of a lot of my favorite tropes in anime, you know I ate it up. Son Goku is easily my favorite character and so I figured it would be fun to reference him like how a bunch of different Djinn reference different figures from Japanese legends. (I know this is a Chinese story, I just meant that I wanted to reference a legendary figure in general, and Son Goku shows up a lot in anime so I thought it wouldn't feel out of place)

8. I carried the previous idea of taking from ledgens and chose one actually from Japan: The bunny in the moon making mochi. I draw myself with bunny ears a lot, and my friends call me a bunny sometimes because of how much I like lettuce XD I was worried giving it a mallet would be too on the nose for the legend, but then after finishing it, I realized I could have given it the Little Mallet/Big Mallet, so I know what I'm doing if I ever redesign this one.

All of the Djinn power sets I've been thinking of use Strength, Sound, Wind, and/or Water magic. I really like physics manipulation, and cancelation abilities, so I have to be careful that I don't design something that suits a Dark Metal Vessel instead. 😅

Because with your post, i have had some idea with ships too. Because if they're in relationship. Does the partner has some…authority?

Ifrit (because i ship him with with Marbas)

He does do only challenge, he's a lot more flirty with his crush. And EXTREMELY possessive. He could see someone who would be too affectionate with Marbas as a CHALLENGER for a fight.

Before they get together, WP!Ifrit decided to act and has literally…pinned March to a wall, told him that he was beautiful and bite his neck because leaving a hickey is literally like marking his territory.

It was EXTREMELY embarassing when the WP was over. (but hey it helped them to got together =) so it's kinda ok?)

When Robin and Ifrit get their wp in the same time, it's very exhausting for Orias and Marbas. They try to put some control and don't success a lot.

Marbas

I love the idea that you have. I add this: after he got with Ifrit, Ifrit was (the only one to be) able to control him. More or less.

Like "you can show and do everything you want to me, ok? but just me!"

And the beast was tamed. If he could show all his new inventions to Ifrit and have fun with him?! Cool!

He's also a lot more audacious and excited about everything he likes because of his relationship, because he cares share his passion with someone. (did it mean that he becomes a dom? probably)

The teachers were actually terrified that Ifrit has 100% control of him, they pray that March WP never happen again while Eito isn't here.

Robin

Orias TRIES to face all the challenges to deal with him. after all he's the games master here, right? He TRIES. The problem is that, the first time he tried to use his lucky power, Robin has pinned him on the ground, holding his wrists and telling with a adorable (and terrifyng) smile "that's cheating, Orias-chan ~"

And he proposes games with a bet/defy Robin: next game, everytime you lose, you take off one of your clothes =) The loser is the one who has take off all....

Orias: whoa! that's kinda audacious Robin

Robin: yeah, got a problem with that? Are you afraid to lose? *plays with Orias hair, literally sitting on his lap*

Orias sweats nervously no?

Orias is so tired when Robin WP is over. SO TIRED.

(maybe that's why Orias is hissing at Robin during his own WP XD)

he just cuddle a lot more his boyfriend when it happens and doesn't want him to go away

My little headcanon about the djinn is that when you get one it causes funky physical changes for the wearer. So like when Alibaba is angry or annoyed his hair starts flickering with fire or puffs of smoke will escape his mouth. Sinbad’s had Baal for so long that sometimes he accidentally shocks people with static when he’s not paying attention, and Kouen hasn’t gotten sick ever since he obtained Phenex etc

Feel free to info dump to me, cuz I know you talk about Magi(?) a lot but I can't tell what the plot is, and I know like one of the characters

!!! Magi is one of my favorite series. I have a blog just for magi stuff lmao

The start of the series reminds me of like. LOZ games purely bc it forcuses on the characters going to different dungeons and you're made to assume that the whole series would be like that but you only end up seeing like. 2 dungeons in full.

There's a lot of political drama stuff, wars and coups and such. If I had to choose a favorite arc I'd have to go with the Balbadd arc, which includes one of my favorite characters, Kassim! He runs a group of thieves and tries to take over the country for the people.

My overall favorite character is Kouha Ren, he's a prince from Kou and he has his own army with hand picked soldiers. He likes to adopt outcasts into his army, including a group that had been exiled and some girls who are failed experiments to create artificial magicians. I am in love with his main 4 subordinates. My magi OC is part of Kouha's army :)
