Double strap leather bracelet: how to do it

1. Mark two spots 1.5” apart .25” from the edge and 1/2” from the other edge on a 2”x10” piece of leather. Mark holes 1/2” apart 6.5” from the center of this. This is the tightest the bracelet can go. For a 7.5” bracelet use an 11” leather strap, etc.

2. Using a strap cutter (or a straightedge) cut slots .875” in on either side for the buckle side. Repeat on the strap side. Set the strap cutter to .25” and repeat on each side. This is for 5/8” straps and pretty narrow buckles. If your buckles are thicker move the straps outward and adjust your measurements

3. Punch holes and finish straps. The center area is using the largest size punch and cleaned up with a craft knife. I have an oblong punch for the buckle slots and an English point punch for the ends but you can wing it by punching two holes and cutting slots for the buckles and making the strap ends pointy in any way you like.

4. Decorate

Some WIPS of the resin pieces I’m working on for next month’s kofi subscriber project! It’s going pretty well, all things considered. Just a lot of “make and wait to cure” parts, so it’s taking a bit longer than anticipated, but it’s been fun so far!

This is my first time using a bunch of these materials/mixes, so I’m pretty pleased with how they’ve turned out. Can’t wait to make more. :D
