think it is great that mantles are passed onto character who aren't white straight Christian males only, but I would also like it if existing characters who are not white straight Christian males finally got the spotlight. I have no doubt that we would love them too.

One time I drew a dumb comic and it went a little viral but I forgot to watermark it so no one knew it was mine. Lesson learned I suppose.

The problem with the “child soldiers” argument against having child heroes is that having all the main characters in the superhero genre be adults would be boring, and also, fiction is the place where young people can fight dragons and I think that’s an important part of storytelling actually.

Y'know one thing that struck me about Sandman after seeing all the 'its too woke', 'it's too gay' 'lgbt fest! >:(' things, including the reviews on rotten tomatoes which are quite something is that its all very... normal.
But, I hear you say, aren't we talking about a show where the main character is the King of Dreams? Lord Morpheus? The Sandman? Well yes. And a lot of the show is fantastically paranormal. But the queer stuff? Not really.
I loved it for that. For realising it might not have really tripped my radar - if I hadn't seen all the reviews - as something that does have a lot of queer characters. This isn't some creator trying desperately for 'woke' brownie points as the reviews try to claim. The people are just there, going about their (fictional) lives, which in some cases are queer.
Its the same with race and gender. Its fairly balanced and its just there. Its not shouted about. The show itself is not drawing attention to it.
This is just including people. Just people, just life, in all its shades.
