But Daddy I Love Him!: A Disney Princess Legacy Challenge

I didn't really like any version of the Disney Princess Legacy so I decided to do one myself! I tried not to repeat traits, skills... But sometimes I couldn't figure out, sorry! I also included a color scheme based on the princess. You have to complete the aspiration, career and max the skills, unless stated otherwise. I also included some extra goals!

It's not playtested, so I might make changes as I play. I have an edited lifespan that makes Young Adulthood and Adulthood a little bit longer, but Teenagehood and Childhood shorter. My guess is that you could finish the challenge in normal lifespan, but you also can do it in long or with a custom lifespan, or even turn aging off if you want to! Whatever you want to do!

Also, I had to be quite... Creative in some of the princess descriptions, because their personalities are very similar.

Also, there's not really any general rules. Your heir can be any gender you want (Everyone can be a princess!), if you want to cheat, cheat, if you wanna change something, change it!

Generation 1. Snow White 🍎

Packs: Cottage Living, Parenthood

Running away from a terrible family, you find yourself in a tiny cottage in the middle of nowhere. You dedicate yourself to keep it clean and make it a home. A hopeless romantic, you dream of finding your true love and form a beautiful family.

Traits: Cheerful, Romantic, Childish

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Stay-at-Home Parent

Skills: Cooking, Parenting, Cross-Stitching

Colors: Red, Blue and Yellow

Make seven friends

Marry your first love and stay with them all your life. Don’t woohoo before marriage

Befriend wild animals (bunnies, birds, foxes)

Have three children

Grow an apple tree of magnificent quality in your backyard

Generation 2. Cinderella 👠

Packs: High School Years, Cats and Dogs, My First Pet Stuff

Your parent instill in you the importance of being a hard-worker, but you can’t help but wish for a better life! With your two siblings making your life impossible, you spent your teenage years working a part-time job and saving as much money as you could to get away from them. As a young adult, you move to your own place and start working in the world of fashion.

Generation 3. Aurora 🛏️

Packs: Nifty Knitting, Get Famous, Parenthood, Island Living

Unlike your parent, you don't even have to move a finger to get what you want. Born and raised in a wealthy family, you might be getting a little spoiled. That’s why your parents send you to live in your uncle/aunt’s house. There, you learn some good lessons, like the importance of generosity and hard work. Although some things never change… And naps are still your favorite pastime!

Traits: Lazy, Creative, Generous

Aspiration: Lord/Lady of the Knits

Career: Career Hop

Skills: Comedy, Knitting

Colors: Blue, Pink

Move out to your uncle/aunt’s house as a teen. There, they teach you discipline. Make sure you get at least two good character value traits!

Meet your future spouse at your uncle/aunt’s, but don’t start dating him until you are a young adult. They have to be a mermaid!

As a young adult, you don’t really know what to do. Career hop everytime you receive a call!

You love to knit! It is something you can do while sitting. Unlock all types of clothing and buy objects available with the Knitting skill

Generation 4. Ariel 🧜🏻‍♀️

Packs: Island Living, Snowy Escape, Parenthood

As a teen, you discover that you are not a normal sim: you are a merfolk. Your curious nature makes you move out from your family house to the place where your parent was born and raised, and reconnect with your roots. But when you fall in love with a normal sim, you decide to renounce your other form and become a boring, normal human.

You love to read, it is your favorite thing in the whole world, and to think you also could create those beautiful stories? That's your dream. You also love your family, but you want to have your own life, so after graduating high school you move to a shared apartment looking for a little more independence. Turns out your roommate is a monster, but for some reason you can’t stop thinking that there is goodness deep inside them…

You want to triumph, be something for yourself! You might come across as a little self-absorbed, but you have a good heart and will help everyone in need. You move to Del Sol Valley looking for fame, and there you find someone that sparks your interest… But if you do commit to someone, it will be your decision. Your parents will have nothing to say in the matter.

an updated disney princess legacy challenge

hello!

i have been playing my own version of disney princess legacy challenge since a year and a half now, and i’m about to finish it soon. i have immensely enjoyed playing this legacy, and would like to thank its original creator, MissPlaying. in my game, i created my own version of the challenge by combining rules from three sources and adding my own spice on the mix. i think the result has become a much more story-oriented and aesthetic heavy version that is more challenging than the original but prioritizes the narrative over task solving. i have a lot of respect for the previous versions, and mine is just one take among the others, but if you’d like to give it a try, go ahead!

some notes: i didn’t want to follow the original order or go chronologically because then all the classical early disney princesses come one after the other, making it a bit boring in my view. shuffling older and more recent princesses makes it interesting with very different types of characters following each other, and this particular order worked well for the transitions within my storyline. second, i focused this around the disney princesses whose films i actually watched, so pocahontas and some of the newer princesses are lacking, but feel free to add them if you want. lastly, when i started playing this, i had very few packs. so my rules kind of reflect the way i gradually acquired more of the packs. feel free to tailor it according to the packs you have! for each gen, i determined a city to live and an aesthethic. if you follow those, please tag me in your photos, i’d love to see!

After the death of your father, you soon realized you were not wanted at home anymore. Although you left that place brokenhearted, your optimism soon fills your new life in a cottage with joys of kindness. You have always loved children and animals, and enjoy turning your home into a fun place where kids can eat cookies, do their homework, and play, while animals become your lifelong friends.

[some of the earlier versions has snow white make seven babies as dwarves. i think that makes this gen something like a mini-100-babies-challenge, and players can’t focus on snow’s own story. instead, i just made a club with 7 little boys as my dwarves and focused more on snow’s story of getting used to her new life. my version is quite easy as you see--i was still new to the sims and found it very challenging back then lol! feel free to tweak it a bit to make it more difficult for yourself. (if you have Cottage Living EP pack, go ahead and exploit those possibilities!--i didn’t.)]

[i ended up marrying a normal human sim, and involved an alien later in my game. so i don’t know how it would play out with an alien sim, but go ahead if that sounds interesting to you! at this point the only occult sim variety i had was the aliens.]

Your parents are in love despite having such opposite personalities, but somehow you never believed in true love. Regular family life bores you, and you have as independent a personality as your mother does. Yet, as you move out to start your own life, you meet the wrong kind of people...

[megara’s sassy attitude really spices the game up! i had very few worlds back then, and with film noir aesthetic i thought the city went very well, but feel free to put her in another world that you think works better.]

[tbh the first three disney princesses (snow, cinderella, and aurora) seem to be all obsessed with getting married lol. that was the norm back then, these films were made in 30s-50s! so in my mind cinderella’s home after she gets married is midcentury-modernist in decoration but suburban and somewhat conservative in family lifestyle. with her previous maid-like treatment by her step-family, she was perfectly prepared to be a housewife haha. making a lot of kids suits her too. in the story, ariel had six older sisters but for me that was simply too much, so i made it three + ariel.]

You are just full of energy, and so curious to discover the world! Your family means well, but they are a little overprotective. But it doesn’t hurt to break just a few rules, right?? There is so much to explore and collect out there!

[i didn’t have Island Living EP pack when i played this, so i made sure that cinderella’s husband was an alien lol. i imagined, instead of swimming in the ocean, they were swimming in the outer space. it’s a bit weird i know, but worked out fantastically well for my storyline! if you have Island Living go ahead and make them actual mermaids.]

After your mother’s death, you grew afraid of leaving the safety of your home for a while. You really enjoy a serene, peaceful lifestyle, but then again... Someone who interrupts it with crazy ups and downs might become the love of your life after all!

Visit the flea market when it comes to town

Live with your partner’s alien best friend for a while, and he should control people’s minds (this a really good mod for improved aliens, giving them extra powers--if you have Realm of Magic GP, feel free to make the Genie a spellcaster instead)

[you can find tigers in the gallery! simmers did a wonderful job creating very realistic tigers. this is not in the rules but my jasmine was really into yoga and self-care, pampering herself with aromatic baths etc. i think that fit very well. that’s partly why i chose magnolia promenade instead of oasis. i thought the latter would be too basic (agrabah desert=oasis desert), and jasmine’s life in the palace was so lush, so i thought some commercial town would work well for her pampered lifestyle.]

You were born with a serious illness (or was it a curse?...) and barely had a chance to meet your parents. In your small, peaceful life, you were still happy growing up, but will your illness come in the way of your finding love, or will love conquer all?

[aurora in the film lives a very humble life with her fairy godmothers, so i thought minimalist aesthetic worked well for her. after she died, i revamped the house to make it look ruined and covered with vines; aurora’s ghost was trapped in the upper floor bedroom with no stairs going down. her lover was downstairs in the ruined house, working on creating ambrosia for weeks. this was my most romantic gen in this legacy.]

[i moved mulan into a military barrack before she reached the captain’s rank when she moved out to her own house. you can find some really cool barracks made by simmers in the gallery. i thought of this a bit too late, but if you wish, you can move mulan much earlier in the legacy so that your later gens coming after her can commemorate their ancestor on mulan day!]

Growing up, your household was hardly a center of culture and learning, and we can’t exactly say that your family lineage focused on higher education. But you always loved books, and dreamed about publishing your own works one day. Very well disciplined, you plan to go to university and accomplish amazing things, but who knows what fate keeps in store for you?

~Disney Villian Legacy Challenge~

I love how random the Disney Princess Legacy Challenge is, but I kind of dislike how there isn't a lot of focus on all of the ICONIC villains of the stories!

So, I came up with a list of Disney villains that are related to the protagonist either biologically or through marriage. This isn't play-tested, but it's too fun not to share. This challenge would have you be VERY involved with ALL of the members of the Family.

BASE GAME FRIENDLY

Gen 1 - Hades

Jealous, annoyed, and DONE with his younger brothers, Zeus and Poseidon, Hades finally has enough and decides to move out of the Family home and achieve his dream of being a writer! Maybe along the way, he’ll find love (or something close).

Once Upon A Time:

Finally out on his own as a successful man with his beautiful wife Persephone and his daughter Megara, Hades finally feels right in the world until he gets the call from his sister-in-law Hera that his brother Posideon has died mysteriously from eating poorly made pufferfish and left behind two runts Triton and Ursula! No one else in the family wants them, so you begrudgingly invite them into your home. Triton is just as annoying as your late brother, but you and Ursala get on fairly well here, also having the evil trait. She seems to be a little spell caster, too!

Ursula has always been an ambitious young lady who wants to be on top of the world!

Having been ignored by her father while he was still alive Ursula’s learned how to take care of herself and is off in the city making a (bad) name for herself!

Her twin Triton, having inherited all of their father's money as his favorite child Triton, never has to work a day in his life! So he’s shacked up with some girl named Athena and is shaggin his way to have a school of SEVEN guppies! Athena’s a bitch, though,, and Ursula couldn’t have been happier when she died young. :)

A few years later when, Ursula finds out that her youngest niece has gone off and fallen in love with some boy whose already got a girlfriend. HER daughter! She’s had enough taken from her by her brother and his family! She’s not going to let this little mermaid girl take this from her daughter! A happy ending for her and her little girl.

Learning from her Mother that violence really is the way to go, Lucille becomes a black widow in her first marriage. The second try really is the charm! Like his Grand-Uncle Hades, Scar constantly feels upstaged by his Brother Muphasa. Scar ends up a bad egg with no guidance from his mother while his Brother Muphasa somehow blossoms.

Not being able to join a Business career like his brother Scar turns to crime. Along the way, he has a few love affairs and ends up with three boys. Selfishly Scar wants the ‘best’ for his sons and goes on to murder his brother and takes his place as the ‘Man of the House’. Moving in, his son's Scar lives a good life having taken everything from his Brother.

Gen 1. Snow White #1.5 Prologue

Snow's mother Gemma dies when she is an early teen. King Georg rebounds with Evil Queen (yes, that's her name) who promptly proposes to him. After he rejects her despite being smitten (there must have been some spellcrafting at work by the Watcher), Evil (the Watcher) uses cheats to make them get married. Very soon after, Georg dies of some mysterious poisoning, and now floats around wafting green fumes, cross-stitching and "cheating" on Evil with Gemma's ghost, his first true love. Snow suffers at the hands of Evil Queen, but her ghastly parents are unable to intervene other than to provide some occasional companionship.

Requirements and My Loose Interpretation:

Have an awful relationship with your stepmother who makes you do all the cooking and housework. More or less, since butlers were mostly useless.

Never leave your home neighborhood. I'm imagining Medieval High is in the Bramblewood...

Meet a teen sim in your neighborhood who you build a friendship and romance with, but never kiss/woohoo. Poor Florian missed his chance, but he never gave up reaching out to Snow after she disappeared.

Move into a cottage as a YA, and have no social interaction with anyone (including no contact with stepmother or boyfriend). This includes never answering the door to strangers. I didn't let Florian in, but Mateo (butler, I guess he wasn't useless after all) and Georg just let themselves in, and I was in tears, so grateful for the help because the 7 toddlers nearly killed me.

Adopt 7 toddlers (dwarves) in one go. Give the children traits that match their dwarf persona. Meet the Dwarfs

Never eat apples or anything to do with apples. Did you know cooking fruit salad shows an animation with apples? I did not. Oops. Also... I break this one only once more in the story :).

When the dwarves are teens, you can finally meet your partner again. As soon as I possibly could without intervening...

Get married and move into your lover's castle. Check!

Have one daughter (Cinderella). Check!

Master parenting and baking skills. Check!

Complete Big Happy Family Aspiration. Check!
