Have you seen the posts going around saying shit like "If a mutual likes Hazbin Hotel I will block them"?? It's genuinely upsetting me tbh, not just the idea that people don't like the show, but that they despise it so much they can't even stand the thought of someone they know liking the show. It reminds me of the Steven Universe hate train only worse. They also say shit like "the show is just someone saying swear words and expecting you to laugh", and if for a second we put aside the fact that that is blatantly not true, what's wrong with that? I'm allowed to like something that's a bit trash, right? I've already seen two different people I follow reblog posts to that effect (and worse, someone saying all a character boils down to is "i love being sexually abused <3" and i don't know how they ever came to that conclusion) and it's driving me mad. And somehow I just know that they don't actually give a shit about any "controversies" surrounding vivziepop, that's just a convenient excuse for most of them. I don't even care if Vivzie is a bad person, that's none of my business. just live and let live, you know?
Sorry for ranting, you're literally the only blog i follow who posts Hazbin fan content
Rant away, friend! Luckily for me I haven't come across any of those posts yet. Plenty of discourse surrounding whether fans are allowed to make romantic and/or sexual content for Alastor, the expected shipping wars, and - as you say - vague references to Vivzie controversies (which I'm too new a fan to even be aware of yet)... but nothing that's a complete rejection of the show itself. That's probably because I've only engaged with blogs posting a lot of Hazbin content though.
I'm a big fan of old school Internet rules which includes an emphasis on cultivating your own online space. You know, the thing tumblr is explicitly designed for. So in theory I applaud anyone blocking users/tags for a show they're not a fan of. Performatively posting about it more as a way to guilt others for liking Hazbin at all... not so much. If you want to block something just block it. If you're mutuals with someone you both presumably like each others' content. Not all of it necessarily, but enough to have followed in the first place, and often being mutuals for long enough leads to friendship because you're both getting interacting with one another a lot. All of which isn't to say that people don't unfollow mutuals, or that you can't drop a mutual because they've started posting something you dislike. Obviously both situations do happen, but it feels like an extreme enough response that these posters probably aren't actually doing this very often. Most people will wait the mutual out until their interest gets hooked on something new, or block the Hazbin tag and keep the friend, or just block without making a big announcement about it. So posts like that feel more like a way to show off how much you dislike the show and guilt others for their enjoyment which yeah, can be upsetting to see. Especially when, as you say, it costs nothing to just let people like things.
Which might sound hypocritical on my part given my RWBY interests, but I think there's a big difference between critically examining a show while supporting others who genuinely love it, and simplistically blasting it. I COMPLETELY get why Hazbin wouldn't be to everyone's tastes and, like with the SU example, anything that gets popular enough is going to develop its haters (especially cartoons trying to tackle non-childish subjects. That's always going to be a fandom landmine). But if you're going to make claims about a show, at least watch it to ensure you can back up your stance? And if your takeaway is still, "This is the worst fucking thing I've ever watched"... cool. Go forth and write about that on your own, personal blog. But no one should be surprised when they're also blocked for bragging about how many Hazbin fans they've blocked.

I hope that by now, after Hobi’s collaboration with J. Cole, Joon’s El Pais interview, and now Jimin’s Set Me Free Pt. 2, it’s obvious a lot of the criticism around BTS, much of what counts for ‘discourse’, is completely pointless.
Something I noticed after BTS released Fake Love in 2018, is that ‘Discourse’ around the mediums they choose to make music, the kind of music they put out, and how they communicate their ideas, all frankly just boils down to people dissatisfied that BTS didn’t express an idea the exact way those people would prefer, at exactly the time they’d prefer it. That’s it. It’s not a criticism that tackles the substance of their ideas or elevates the conversation around BTS, but one about personal preferences that people with inflated egos courtesy of the internet, mistake to be synonymous with meaningful appraisals of their skill, competency, and their characters.
BTS has always made music in a variety of styles and they’ve shown they’re more than capable of making some of the best hard-hitting and unconventional music there is, not just in Korea, but globally. But then they release a handful of pop tunes that while not my favourite, generated a whole multitude of k-pop stans circle-jerking to ‘discourse’ about how ‘BTS has lost their roots’ when all those people are actually saying is that “BTS didn’t make the exact sort of music I prefer or say something exactly the way I prefer, this time around, on my schedule.”
Take for example discourse around Joon’s latest interview:
Joon has shown similar candour as in the El Pais interview, in their 2022 Weverse interview, in their 2021 Billboard interview, and in honestly more Vlives and interviews than I can count. The primary difference between the El Pais interview and the others is in the sort of questions asked by interviewer/publication. That is what was refreshing because Western media outlets often do not take their music seriously enough to not venture beyond the obligatory ‘dark side of k-pop’ asks before grilling BTS on their potential romantic partners. The interviewer in El Pais was notably more informed about BTS and Namjoon in particular, and that carried through in the interview. Joon is older, more mature, and more comfortable (especially now that they’ve announced their intentions to enlist), but if you were paying attention, you’d realize he’s said a lot of what he said in that interview, long before. He’s not significantly more eloquent and more candid than he was a year ago, he simply responded to the interviewer based on the questions posed and the tone used.
Another example is in Jimin’s latest release, SMF Pt 2, which brought to mind criticism of Jimin I’ve seen from solos, multis, antis and general k-pop stans every fortnight or so, for the last eight years. We can all see references in the lyrics, in the choreography, in the stylistic musical choices, in the medium: rap vs vocals, to many BTS songs and even Jimin’s solo work put out long before. In SMF Pt 2:
For lyrics and message, Jimin references narratives expressed in Lie, Promise, ON, among others;
For sonic expression, Jimin references Friends and ON, seen in his preference for choral effects; Tony Montana and Black Swan for autotune as a tool and rap music as a medium;
For dance/choreography, Jimin references Butterfly, Lie, and ON.
Set Me Free Pt 2 is a combination of various expressions we’ve already seen Jimin do, sharpened to the extreme to drive home the point that this is his time and everyone should get the fuck out of his way.
It’s effective.
Like JITB and Indigo before now, I’m already seeing people lament that Jimin is talking about how their fame affects him, the reference to his haters, or that he is too proud and egotistical. And some Anons are already starting to fret about it in my inbox. I don’t know what to tell y’all besides that I don’t care. I’m not sure how many times I can show that none of those people know what they’re talking about. I’m not confident enough to express how little I think about some random’s opinion about music and how I listen to it, without rudely telling them off in two syllables.
All I’ve got to say about the discourse around this song is ‘fuck off.’
I’m enjoying myself too much. I’m loving Jimin’s vocals and self expression too much. I’m too happy to give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks on the matter.
Aside, Jimin has inspired some of the best fanart I’ve seen in ages:

Just my opinion, but softening Dabi's crimes (as an adult, if I see one more person say pre-Sekoto Peak Touya was a criminal...) equals to softening his trauma and the way it shaped him.
I've seen this kind of discourse before with other characters that didn't have passive or soft trauma reactions like crying or just hurting themselves. People try to erase the dark parts of them, but the idea is that it makes you feel uncomfortable.
Violent societies and violent homes lead to violent individuals. Hurt people not always direct their rage and sadness to be destructive to themselves, but to others. It can drive people mad, like hurt animals in the wild. They can make extreme decisions to try and get rid of the pain or at least get rid of their abusers.
Dabi's killing count is not morally good but it's also more complex than people make it to be. Trying to erase the weight it has on the narrative would be like trying to erase Dabi's backstory and how it's related to the failure of the hero society.

Do you have any further thoughts on the word twink and how it’s somewhat evolved into a pejorative term used to denote any kind of stereotypically gay man because it drives me insane since its original definition referred to a body type (or a porn category. to be real. 10 years ago this is what it meant) and not really about behavior or whatever “twink culture” is supposed to mean now and how people use it to talk about fat phobia/gay desirability politics as you mentioned. I understand language evolves but I feel like this word specifically has evolved in an extremely insane way and now every time I hear a straight person call someone a twink as a socially acceptable way to call them a homo but not in a nice way it drives me crazy and when I saw people doing discourse about Troye Sivan’s rush music video because it celebrated “twink culture” I really felt like I was trapped in some kind of endless mirror hallway hell
i guess my twink hot take is that gay people, no less than straight people, are prone to ascribe personality traits and moral status to appearance, including body type, and as far as i can tell this has always been part of what "twink" meant. like i agree that the way straight people have picked it up as just being, like, a socially acceptable way to basically imply homophobic slurs is bizarre lol, but i think twink has always had some element of negative judgment baked in. like a certain degree of superficiality or insubstantiality always seems to have been ascribed along with any pronouncement of twinkhood.
anyway yeah what i was thinking wrt desirability politics is that it seems to me that a lot of weird discussions occur where someone uses the word "twink" to stand in for "gay man who has access to certain social privileges", often specifically thinness and whiteness. and it's a frustrating use of this term because, while fatphobia and white supremacy are manifest in gay subcultures no less than in straight overcultures, they extend beyond and around 'twinks' and framing a discussion this way tends to just lead into really pointless and weird asides about 'twink culture' or whatever rather than naming the actual terms on the table.
i also think "twink" is complicated by the fact that, while it's not synonymous with "effeminate", it has pretty much always included an element of femininity, partly because femininity is often inherently read into the thin / hairless / young body. i think this speaks to the dual position of 'twinks' as objects of both desire and derogation; many such cases wrt femininity and specifically trans-femininity. anyone trying to talk about 'twinks' as though this is some kind of universal gay beauty standard is, i think, really failing to grapple with this element of gender deviation and how it's received by both straight and gay people. again i think this is an outcome of trying to use the word "twink" as a shortcut to discuss things like fatphobia and white supremacy in gay beauty standards, rather than naming those things and then interrogating their role in the construction of the 'twink'.

🍄🍬🌿🧩 Truth or Dare!
"🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings"
uhmm... hmmm... hmmm... i don't think i can pick one pair, lol. i'm gonna pick. a few.
i'll preface this by saying i'm a canon purist 99% of the time, so when i have a headcanon, it's because i think i can defend it very well with evidence from the source material.
Star Trek - Jim and Spock share a mental link that was created by accident and allowed intermittent empathy/mild telepathy of both a conscious and subconscious nature. this is evidenced in several episodes, but a particular moment on the bridge in The Immunity Syndrome is my solid basis for this. (I promise I'll keep writing "Always Will"... Star Trek is the fandom of my heart. I'll come back to it. I promise.)
Kim Possible - (angst alert! tw: infant death. tw: child death. tw: miscarriage. i hope i did that right...) Drakken and Shego had twins that didn't survive. The event brought them closer together and made them re-think their priorities... This is post-canon when they were dealing with the good vs. evil issues already, and the only thing they knew for sure was they wanted to be together. This event also led them to realize...they want to be parents. (Yes, my fic "Rekindling" is in fact, headcanon...)
Soul Eater - I haven't posted a fic about this one yet so I'm leery to share it... But a story is already in the works. And I'll be very, very vague... Stein's "experiments" on Spirit were extremely mild and rapidly turned into something else... Something Stein was doing to cover for Spirit, to protect him from something else going on in his life... And that's where I'm leaving that because I want it to be a surprise when I post the story! But a couple people I've told might guess this, heheh. (No title for this story yet... Titles are my worst enemy.)
"🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character"
Spirit Albarn did not cheat on his wife. 😎 I'll die on this hill. In a diff post than the one I link, I compared him to Greg Universe (of Steven Universe). The authors present both as characters you want to hate, who you question, who look like lousy fathers. But slowly the story starts to unfold and you realize...there's more here than what was presented on the surface. And maybe the surface was a lie all along. I use that comparison because most people seem to get it with Greg. But only a few people get it with Spirit. That's fine. It's my headcanon; it doesn't have to be yours. And I enjoy other ppl's headcanons very much. But you did ask.
"🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity"
this is where the whole... 'write for yourself' thing, comes into play. i've actually seen a lot of tumblr discourse about this recently... write for yourself! people say. but, we share creations out because...we want people to see them. we are writing for ourselves, and then sharing them...
here's what i'm learning. my motivation to create has to be for myself, in the grand scheme. it's fine to create things here and there for others. and i personally love gifting fanfic. but if your goal when you go into creating is... 'i'm going to tailor this story so this person will like it,' or, 'i'm gonna post this and i can't wait till this person comments!' that's when you're in danger... you're not creating for yourself anymore. now your satisfaction is going to come from...what that person thinks, whether or not they comment, how deep is their comment...
your satisfaction has to come from responding to your own creative drive.... i suppose that's where the advice starts. make sure your motives are in the right place. and... hey, if the creativity is sated? allow yourself to rest! as i'm writing this (it's being queued so, not coming out near the same day it was asked), my writing well is a bit dry. you might want to create, and feel bad you're not doing so... but it's okay to rest! if your mind just wants to daydream but the hands don't want to write the story or draw the piece right then... just let yourself be. allow yourself that space. i think you'll find creativity is better for it in the long run.
'but i'm worried my followers will be disappointed?' now, there you're not creating for you again... if they're friends, they'll still be there. if they're just...a random number in your stats, then again... your motives aren't in the right place. i'm a firm believer in...don't base your self-worth on internet stats. it's just not something i can get onboard with. your value is not determined by number of views, comments, reblogs, etc...
"🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?"
ahhhh hmmm.... i haven't done any immediate clicks in awhile. i'd say if something squicks me pretty suddenly. but blessedly, with AO3 tagging, i can often avoid accidentally running into those things.
wanna be clear though, writing is in art itself and sometimes... well, i'll give an example. i read a fic not too long ago with a twist ending. it is the sort of thing i would not have read had i known. but, had they tagged for the twist it would have ruined the story. so i was not bothered by the lack. i personally would have done the same. am i haunted by what i read? yes. but storytelling is its own art and well...yeah. it's not like in picking up a physical book we're gonna get the tag warnings.
that was slightly off topic, uhhh... i think mostly just if one of my squicks shows up i'll click away. something that's not my thing. and depending on how good the fic is, i'll try to push past it. but if it keeps happening... like there was one long, long multi-chap where main char was kidnapped and tortured and my poor li'l happy-ending heart didn't realize until i was fairly deep in that the whole point of the fic was torture that just got worse and worse... closed that one, never finished.
oh okay but one thing... if a story is VERY out of character, then i'm not interested. like.... the whole point in fanfic is to see more of the character so if it doesn't read like them, then... yeah. that's actually probably the most immediate thing for me. i can handle poor grammar and formatting and english-second-language writers and new writers who are learning the craft... all of that is fine. long as the character is in character, i'm pretty game to read most things.
thanks for the ask!!!!

Theory of Love Rewatch Ep 10 Stray Thoughts
Last time, Khai began his long recovery from his motorcycle crash. Charlie is destroyed and in the shop, and Khai has severe injuries. He refused Third's help because he's as embarrassed at first and his wounds weren't healing. Eventually, Third needed to step in and help him. The gangstas also broke into Third's messages to see how close he was with Un, which was not cool. Meanwhile, Two is sorta dating Lynn even if he's also jealous of Un hanging out with other people or being interested in Third. Bone is trying to be brave about his crush on Paan. We left at Khai punching Un out at a party and confessing his feelings for Third, and I know they better apologize to Un or I'm gonna need to see another ass whooping.
These dudes always start beef with Un. He has had any number of reasons to be rude to them and instead he helps them, tutors, them, drives them to hospitals, and provides opportunities for them. Now he's being punched out at a party and being yelled at because he kissed a girl while Khai is jealous. Like, we can talk about how Khai's reputation as a womanizer informed how people treated him, but GODDAMN why do they treat Un like this??
I'm feeling especially salty about Khai wailing on Un because of the discourse this year about male anger.
No one apologized to Un or asked if he was okay before the credits? We just applaud Khai saying how he feels about Third and disperse? I'm gonna need all y'all to line up so I can whip all y'all asses.
Ep.10 Begin Again
Un is better than me. I would not be this chill.
"I don't want to hurt anymore." I'm back on my Third bullshit!! Do not let your guard down, Third! You know this man plays games!
Khai is giving "But I'm here now" energy that is personally upsetting for me. It's not his fault he didn't know that Third was carrying a flame for him for years, but he is responsible for how callously he treated Third. He's used to playing up his neediness and Third responding to it, but that era is over.
Why is he so mean? Look, y'all, Third has always been a little mean. He's mean to girls who hit on him, and he's kinda mean to y'all for always being annoyed when y'all go out.
It's notable how not-cute Third is most of the time. He's extremely prickly and doesn't say thanks that much to people he's close to.
I tell you. The rituals around peeling shrimp was one of the first things I picked up on as specific to Thai courtship gestures.
I don't mind them using the group chat as a distancing mechanism to tease and encourage their homies. Seeing it written down and being able to look back at it later can be encouraging.
That's right, Third. Don't give it up after one date.
I feel like we were unnecessarily harsh about this kiss in 2019. I think this is actually pretty good.
I really am such a sucker for long-term pining.
Lynn doesn't deserve this!
Sending a messenger with files is also real. A lot of folks don't have the data structure to handle large transfers.
Oh ho. A little lie. That's how it starts. Khai wasn't wrong for giving this girl a lift after possibly bumping her with his bike, nor was he wrong when she flirted with him and he sent her on the way. Still, he knows now that Third resented all the girls and he's always avoided confrontation.
I recognize the song she's singing, but I can't place it.
🎶 Hey, Jealousy. Hey, Jealousy. 🎶
Seems like Paan is maybe not that excited about this wedding and knows ole boy is cheating.
Oh don't go into a kiss as you're crying, Paan.
Oh lord it's one of these ads.
Drama next episode!
I'm a bit out of step with the Un, Two, and Lynn plotline. I hope I have interesting commentary for them about long term pining when it completes. Bone and Paan have some flavor, but I get squicked out when teachers get down with their students. I like the way they used Ching Ching this episode with Third's jealousy because he's got so many reasons to be leery of Khai even if Khai is trying to change. Looking forward to that blow up.
As always, this rewatch is sponsored by @lurkingshan, with support from @waitmyturtles and @neuroticbookworm. Tagging @twig-tea by request.

Why TERFs are Fascists
2500 words that will explain the modern online fascist ecosystem and convince any honest reader that "gender critical" ideology is a major element of how it works (average reading time: 8.3 minutes).
The ways people use social media are very different and because of this I've seen that many comrades involved in building the UK working-class movement are very distanced from a solid understanding of the shape of political discourse online, in the spaces in which a majority of public political discourse now takes place. Even though there are many vocal comrades and union members present in online spaces like twitter or facebook, there is an entire other vastly complex and deeply interconnected space of political discourse that occurs online, where the power and influence that corporate interests wield is nigh inconceivable and keenly felt at all times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The recent mid-life crisis of elon musk is the perfect beginner course in understanding this through:
The ways that capitalist oligarchs and mega-corporations compete for power and influence as though they were playing a board game;
The present consequences of the cult of infamy that creates internet celebrity and which developed from previous ideas of celebrity via the "mass-democratisation"  (or "mass data-exploitation of alienated working class demographics") of the internet and social media sites especially;
At the same time, the ways in which this infamy-culture is directly related to the subservience of mainstream news-media to capitalist ideology via advertising on screens in every pocket and home (in other words we sell our data - i.e. agency - to be used by some of the worst people on the planet to manipulate us in return for advertised access to the public forum - see the Cambridge Analytica scandal for the consequences of this) and the profit motive that algorithmically determines content: in fact the thing that has most rapidly driven change in advertising is the technological improvement of those algorithms to be as efficient at exploitation as possible at all times. Notably this method incentivises a system that makes no distinction between a video of a hate crime and a trending comedy video. See Twitter Main Character Of The Day for other examples.
Now those algorithms are so powerful that they determine the shape of the absolute majority of all political discussion, and are at the same time driven by a content ideology that emerged from the perfect evil marriage-in-triplicate of:
The "media age" Commodification of The Means of Communication (news, social media & the colonisation of the public forum);
The Commodification of Art and Cultural Expression (art becomes content via colonisation of and alienation from community and natural surroundings);
The Cult of the Individual (which desires infamy above all else, favouring the ultra-wealthy and the most extreme).
The relationship between stochastic terrorism and data-driven online existence is obvious: within this evil soup of capitalist ideology, which values power over everything, the means of communication (social media) is a tool to appropriate content (alienated art, labour and identity) that can be manipulated (remember all that stolen data!) as efficiently as possible, and the result is the Culture War, in which fascism thrives.
Just as they always have, capitalist interests create breeding grounds for fascism, here making content as polarizing as possible because it drives engagement and makes numbers go up - the goal is to do this constantly and exponentially for infinity and all time...
Fascist grooming is a fantastic tool towards achieving this goal. Not only does it divide the working class and thus make it easier to exploit and reduce the threat of revolution, you can also look at the current Elon Musk example to see how he is attempting to colonise the means of communication that structure modern stochastic terrorism for personal benefit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Shadowbanning" conspiracy-theorist Elon Musk may be hemmoraghing money and destroying everything he touches, but he receives cultural capital with the worst people online in exchange. Is it worth it? He's doing it anyway. The rapist and human trafficker Andrew Tate (whom Musk had an executive hand in unbanning from Twitter along with some of the other most prominent alt-right and conspiracy theory figureheads on the internet like Laura Loomer, Roger Stone and David Icke) getting arrested by Romanian authorities after being publicly humiliated by Greta Thunberg and accidentally revealing his hidden location via pizza box was breaking news despite a vast majority of non-online people who received this news having never previously heard of Andrew Tate. Thunberg's comeback currently ranks as the 4th most liked tweet of all time.
Tumblr media
Andrew Tate is a recent leading figure in the misogynist Mens Rights sphere, which has historically been one of the leading recruitment tools across all social media for the stochastic terrorist network that is figure-headed by a coalition of conservative grifters (charlatan cult leaders, conmen selling soy-containing anti-soy conspiracy theory protein shakes, frauds who radicalise a fascist-friendly cult to scam a delusional and easy to manipulate captive audience) and mainstream right-wing political figures.
Tumblr media
The TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminist fascist) movement is a direct mirror to this fascist recruitment program and functions in an incredibly similar way. It may seem to the uninformed that it has come from independent grass roots because it claims to be based on valid concerns of real working class people, but this is a myth as false as everything else you can expect to hear from TERFs: it is funded and nurtured by the exact same evil marriage of right-wing political groups and capitalists that foster the alt-right movement.
The TERF ideology (or "gender critical" movement - though this is a deliberate misnomer in the exact fashion of "national socialism", as it is the violent enforcement of the patriarchal systems of oppression which form the false gender binary that is the explicit goal of the TERF ideology) is widely and obviously fascist, and it is observably false to claim that it is not so: it is artifically bred in the same algorithmically-controlled shallow waters that feed the network of conspiracy theories, cults, and the alt-right, which we would most accurately recognise as the stochastic terrorist network of modern fascism.
All online "culture war" (in other terms the majority of political discussion, polarised by the callously evil profit-motivated design of the medium through which it is communicated to drive engagement and sell ads) is dependent on the existence of this ecosystem, and you only need to look at the following widely available details to see this:
The established political powers that are acting to enforce gender-&-bodily-autonomy-based authoritarianism are simultaneously enacting trans genocide and attacking abortion rights with support from terfs, the alt right and other conservative hate groups;
The deep connections in the shared community spaces of the alt-right and TERF movements;
The Q-anon far-right cultist attempted coup in the US and the constant onslaught of semi-organised terrorist violence that is the result of this network;
The pro-fascist credentials and  confused political ideologies (mainly the increasingly conspiracy-fuelled fascist dog-whistling of self identified "anti-woke" conservatives and libertarians) of anyone who is a major figure in the discourse surrounding these movements (elon musk, libsoftiktok chaya raichik, lauren boebert, matt gaetz who as of typing held the deciding vote in electing the now US house speaker Kevin McCarthy, marjorie taylor-green, ian miles cheong, tucker carlson, alex jones, andrew tate, joe rogan, ben shapiro, j.k. rowling, maya forstater, piers morgan, nigel farage, etc.);
The previous major political waves made by the reach of these groups (brexit, trans and abortion rights abuses in the US, the conspiracy-fuelled attempted coup in the US, anti-vaxxers and their influence on global covid responses, mass shootings and fascist terrorist attacks, etc.);
The strategic choice of culture war topics to exploit the algorithm & spread fascist propaganda to seed new recruits who will move up the pyramid of stochastic terrorism (and get scammed along the way, as most prominent exponents of fascist ideology are also hardcore grifters, see the overlap with crypto-bros & NFTs) through the incredibly powerful reach of tik-tok, twitter, instagram, facebook & youtube to all demographics of the working class including children;
The fact that terf ideology makes up a significant percentage of current prominent alt-right discourse in the culture war, and that both terfs and the rest of the online right always perform solidarity for one another when they rally against cross-over culture war topics like cancel culture;
A predominantly white, middle-class & conservative "feminist" group that is aggressively anti-intersectional, preferring instead to act against other oppressed groups in solidarity with the misogynist, vocally anti-feminist "mens rights" chanting alt-right is more accurately described as a patriarchal white supremacist group that seeks emancipation for none and is indistinguishable from other conservative groups who act on behalf of patriarchy.
For further proof, watch as I accurately predict that the most active layer of the stochastic pyramid of fascists will crawl out in droves to support J.K. Rowling when the new Harry Potter game releases next month (which includes a slave class of non-human people who love being slaves actually - you even have some of their severed heads on display in your dorm - and in which you fight against a conspiracy of anti-semitic Jewish-coded greedy evil goblins, in a game whose previous lead developer has a youtube channel where he produced lengthy propaganda for alt-right culture war topics) by abusing queer people and women on the internet. Watch as they relish in discovering tedious ways in which they can use this opportunity to spread misinformation & propaganda to fuel the culture war by attacking the left and any and all "wokeists" (the boogeyman group of anyone who speaks or acts in support of any and all oppressed people, including existing as one of these people, especially used to dog-whistle against POC) and know that J.K. Rowling is well aware of the kind of stochastic terrorism she promotes and considers her royalties an endorsement of her ideology. She is the single biggest, most influential terf.
Tumblr media
--------
In conclusion, it is absolutely incorrect to ever make the claim that the anti-trans movement is not a fascist movement, as it is a significant element of the online modern fascist ecosystem and has not simply emerged from nowhere but instead is a consequence of many obvious factors (not least of which is the development of modern alt-right conspiracy theories), and this movement is another face of the same monster that first came to major online prominence in the form of gamergate - which itself was a development of the "edgy" and extremely racist, ableist, queerphobic and misogynist culture of 2000s & early 2010s internet and social media.
For many queer people, the sheer act of existing in online spaces is a survival of (and therefore an education in) the consequences of these ideologies, which are labelled online in a variety of ways that all fall under the broad category of the alt-right (i.e. modern online fascist) umbrella and whose names all invoke clouds of connotations with violent authoritarianism, fascism and oppression, for instance: incels -> blackpill -> MRAs -> gamergate -> pizzagate -> Qanon -> flat-earthers -> covid denial -> anti-vaxxers -> "groomer" slurs & anti-trans CSA conspiracies. It is easily possible to find multiple recent terrorist attacks that clearly evidence the direct connections between all of these categories. TERFs are just another group in this cloud of shared characteristics.
This venn diagram (at the centre of which is an explicitly and vocally fascist ideology) is not quite a circle, if only because it must have on-ramps for recruitment: the "gender critical" movement is one of these, and it has proved its potential to be an incredibly effective tool for the spread of fascist ideology and stochastic terror, which is a major reason why "the trans debate" is a constant repeat target of the culture war's ire. The relatively small size of trans communities, their very online presence, the role of patriarchal gender oppression in conservative ideology (and the weakening of LGBTQ solidarity as a consequence of the partial capitalist colonialisation of lgbtq communities and the subsequent alienation of queer youth from their many socialist elders) make trans people as perfect a scapegoat for the fascists of today as they have been for the fascists of the past.
This fascist ideology has shown its hand and the only strategy that has the potential to defeat it is an intersectional revolutionary movement of the working class. It would be a dangerous oversight not to learn these lessons that demonstrate why we must put every effort into organising the rise of working class movements in an intersectional way: from strikes to climate protests to the fights for the rights of refugees, indigenous peoples, queer and trans people, POC and racially oppressed communities, all women, disabled people and all other oppressed peoples of the world (ultimately encompassing the entire global working class): we must connect each of these movements in solidarity with one another.
Just as the enemy is a hateful supremacist ideology that seeks to divide and genocide all of us degenerates (speaking in solidarity as an autistic cis man with the nazi diagnosis "aspergers" - so in retrospect those fascists may have even elected not to murder me for being the wrong kind of retard while today's fascist death cultists distort my hypothetical existence into a ritual weapon to aid the spread of plague, what joy) the fight for all of our rights is the fight against one enemy with many different faces for many different people. It is clear that only mass scale, militant, revolutionary anti-capitalist & anti-fascist solidarity will see any of us freed from its influence. The only way to achieve this is to organise, enact tangible and effective solidarity and bring with it the reasons that allow you to acknowledge that it is your fight too.
To do this effectively, I suggest joining your local revolutionary socialist organisation and attending both pickets and protests. Trans and refugee voices are crucial in the UK (hi from terf island) right now, and the place they can have the most influence is the place that has the most potential to destroy capitalism and build revolution: the picket line.
--------
Thanks for reading, and please do get in touch with your local revolutionary socialist organisation (just search for revolutionary socialist groups in your area) & if they're worth your time they'll have a clear and easily accessible manifesto that can tell you if they're for you and what they stand for.
They will be very glad to have you, eager to share educational resources and happy to find a way for you to get involved that best suits you. Go with a friend and say you want to do some activism but don't know where to begin - it's the truth and the only way to learn. They will be involved in solidarity for strikes and protests, and they will be democratic and actively intersectional: if you go to an upcoming protest or happen to stop by a picket at the right time you will find them there!
Good luck getting involved: if you are in the UK and want advice on how to go about it please message me, unless this post really goes off, in which case I'm expecting I'll catch some heat. I will do my best to point you in the direction you want to go but here is a good start from an organisation I only have positive experiences of working with:
Unite the working class
Intersectional solidarity forever
Terfs fuck around and find out why ✊ means solidarity

Not the same anon that before but I just wanted to react to the discourse. Scratch that ask if you don’t want to talk about it any further.
"Kpop idols pretty much only announce marriages (of course straight ones duh since Korea is super homophobic) and that doesn’t even go over well."
Here lies the whole problem imo. We don’t have to know about idols relationships, who they date etc, but the extreme secrecy around it is part of what drives the backlash once they announce their marriage or whatever. They shouldn’t have to go public about it, but just live their lives without having to live under complete secrecy. It’s probably a matter of cultural differences, ever since I’ve been into kpop it’s one aspect of idols life that I never understood. I live in Western Europe and here no one cares about celebrities dating, it’s totally normal. Sure, some hardcore fans might cry about it but honestly it’s pretty much a non issue. As long as idols continue to accept that life of secrecy, then unfortunately they’ll have to deal with those crazy bs reactions. That’s why personally I think Tae and Jennie have been really brave, they acted like a normal couple having a date night in Paris like any normal couple would have and they didn’t two fucks about it. It still sucks that people took pictures - it’s beyond me how people have the guts to take pics of ppl without their consent and drop it on the internet…- but I think that was an encouraging first time to show that they’re just regular human beings with regular love lives.
Hi anon. Don’t worry, I can definitely tell that you aren’t the same anon. I also think TaeJennie were brave. Idk why people skipped past the Paris thing or act like it didn’t mean anything because it was a huge step and definitely a choice. When Jennie’s phone got hacked and her private photos were leaked, they could have easily swept it under the rug and ignored it, but months later to hold hands and then she admits in a magazine interview that they are together? That’s huge.
I too am from the western world (the US not Europe) and I have a theory about why the idol culture is the way that it is there. And one of the factors I’ve always thought of is the size of the country. The US is huge. I don’t live anywhere near LA (a common place for celebs to live) and our transportation here is terrible so it’s not easy for me to get there. I know I would probably never see a celebrity. I feel so much more removed from them if that makes sense. But Korea is tiny in comparison. It only takes 4 hours by train to get between the two biggest cities on opposite ends of the country. I can’t even drive 4 hours and make it to a different state. I can see how the delulu there would be a lot stronger if you were in closer proximity to the idols. Even in rural parts of the country, distance wise you aren’t separated by much and one could theoretically move to Seoul easier than I could move to LA. It’s much easier to sell the y/n fantasy when you have a higher chance of being near an idol or a celeb in Korea. Just look at how many foreigners go visit Korea thinking they will run into idols (and some of them do). That’s crazy to me to want to do that but that’s not the point. I don’t know what it would take to shift their culture, but I suspect geography is a bigger part of the equation than people realize.

Bruh levi is actually unintentionally so funny, like he has dry humor ,I love him so much
so there is current discourse on Twitter that " levi doesn't have development"
Can you please describe Levi's development in few words so I can defend Levi?😶‍🌫️
Haha, yeah, I agree. Levi is extremely funny. He's so deadpan, haha.
Man, that's always something people whine about, as if Levi not changing from the beginning of the story to the end is somehow a criticism on his worth as a character. The fact is, Levi is a fully developed character when we meet him, but that doesn't indicate a lack in complexity or depth of character. A character doesn't have to change in order to be multi-faceted or a character worthy of study and analysis. I've written countless words analyzing Levi as a character. I wouldn't be able to do that if there wasn't a lot going on with him, or if he was just a one dimensional character. You can go back through any of my posts and see for yourself. Mainly, when I point to what makes Levi a complex character, I talk about how he's simultaneously a very violent person, and a deeply kindhearted and compassionate person. Levi basically represents within the story this major theme, of how a person can do something that's quote on quote "bad", but still be a good person. If that's not complex, than nothing is.
Eren doesn't change either, by the way, but he's an extremely complex and interesting character too. But Levi doesn't change because he's a grown man and has already gone through his development as a human being. Eren doesn't change because he's trapped by his childish nature.
Now, one could look to "No Regrets" for some change in Levi's philosophical view. Not necessarily in who Levi is as a person, but in how he responds to the circumstance of death. Levi learns in "No Regrets", from Erwin, that even if he can't save every life, he can still honor those lost lives by giving their deaths meaning, by upholding their hopes and dreams, by fighting in their names, etc... Levi's essential drive as a person never changes. He wants to help people and save lives. But how he approaches being able to accomplish that changes in "No Regrets".

So. I looked through some old ace discourse posts today. Just because. And I am remembering all of the discourse and hate over asexuality being a spectrum and how people got so vehement over grey asexual and demi-sexual and would always throw out “that’s just normal dating!” when people said that they didn’t feel attraction until they got really close to someone, and they always threw out that allosexuals aren’t out there just thinking about fucking people when they find them attractive. And. Like. I don’t think that’s what people on the ace spectrum are talking about. I am grey asexual. When I say I don’t normally feel sexual attraction what I mean is that normally when I see other people I just see people and I do not know if they are attractive or not. And I mean this for like 99.9% of the people I see (might be higher than that, the small handful of times I felt attraction towards someone is first extremely rare and second extremely fleeting). Like. I have had people talk to me about how a guy or girl looks cute or is hot. And then I look at that person and my brain just goes “I don’t know what you are talking about”. I have had people talk about someone having a nice ass. And I see that person’s butt and I just think “well, they have a butt, it exists” and that’s it. I don’t know what other people see in just every day situations. I know that they aren’t thinking about sex things with random strangers. But they are clearly aware of the attractiveness of random strangers. And here I am just blind.
But then if we go to the grey part of my grey aceness. I have a libido. It’s low. But it exists. I have felt attraction a couple of times. I have also had sex a couple of times. And I actually don’t know if those things 100% coincide with each other. For one. When it comes to sexual situations it is like a switch is flipped in my brain and things just work. Not sure if they work the same way it does for everyone else. But they work. Though. It helps a LOT when I am emotionally close with the person I am with. Not sure if I feel normal attraction at that point, but I do feel a kind of closeness and am more fine with sexual stuff. Also with sexual stuff I have more of a chance of being sexually repulsed by things than excited. But. Whatever that switch in my head is it helps. And the emotional closeness helps. Idk. Been a bit since I examined this stuff about myself. It’s all so weird and fluid. And one of the worst parts about it is that I do sometimes want to be in a normal relationship, I want to get married, I want to have children. But the lack of attraction gets so much in the way of that. And I don’t have that much of a drive for relationship stuff. Not anymore anyway.

as a long-term cas girl and heller i want to say i am living for your destiel takes. the way some fans woobify cas drives me insane though i do think it's influenced by how the show treated him at the end. but i strongly agree cas needs to be dean's saviour and pre-decided a romantic relationship was impossible. people don't talk enough about the fact there's a massive age/culture gap between them in which cas has more power in virtually every way (if this were a m/f pairing with a human woman there would be more discourse about this imo, destiel is the m/m version of this very popular interspecies romance trope). anyway as someone who is not even a dean girl it's apparent to me that castiel is NOT a safe person for dean to love since EVER (if one interprets dean as repressing romantic feelings it's because that'd cause him even more pain than cas has already brought him).
🙏 The show absolutely treated Cas terribly, and one of the most frustrating things for me is the lack of resolution to his need to fall on a sword—how he is always trying to martyr himself and that... isn't resolved. Leaving that character note—letting it stand—is very much like letting Dean die young and bloody. Like. They both got ends they predicted in some sense, coming from a part of themselves that thought very lowly of their own worth as individuals? And I think that's extremely sad. Like. He got to confess his love and I love that, but at what cost, you know? I would absolutely love to see a canon resolution to that storyline that's satisfying and allows Cas to heal and grow out of the unilateral, lone wolf decision-maker situation.
Yeah Cas literally beat Dean bloody in an alley using his superior strength, and large swaths of destiel fandom think that's hot and it's just a big joke, but then loose their fucking minds with rage when Dean in season 10, under the influence of the MOC which is actually altering his personality, beats Castiel up using his now superior strength. The whole thing is just stupid. I actually think the age and cultural gap is something Dean struggles with a lot, and uses to excuse Cas's actions a lot, thinking he just can't understand him. Like. Dean knows Cas cares about him. The rest? It's just confusing. Like. I don't accept the actors feelings as being established canon or as forcing certain interpretations, but Jackles kind of implied he plays Dean this way—that Dean isn't sure what the things Cas does mean because he doesn't know if Cas is coming from things at the same frame of reference as him or if Cas is thinking about things from some weird angelic perspective... and Cas's actions give Dean a lot of reasons to be confused. He gives Cas a LOT of leeway over things I would have made a way bigger deal out of I think partly because of this.
It is sad that Cas isn't a person Dean could confess romantic feelings to if he has them (which—I think he probably does?), though I think another issue is just that. They are all always doing things. Like. They are CONSTANTLY busy with one thing after another. When would Dean ever have the space to even evaluate that, much less choose if he trusts Cas enough to tell him. Even Cas, on his side, only confessed because it presented an opportunity to save Dean (and die in the process jfc). Otherwise, it seems like he was probably cool with just... keeping silent about it forever? And I think one of the other things we don't talk about enough, is that these dudes are like... fucked up. They have PTSD. They have severe trauma, and there are a lot of emotional issues they are trying to contend with, so when exactly are they supposed to figure out whether they want to be open about romantic feelings and how? They are trying to deal with trauma from being lobotomized and tortured and possessed etc etc etc.

Review of The Best™ Car Seat Headrest Album, How to Leave Town
Tumblr media
As a certified Car Seat Headrest Homosexual™, I am contractually obligated to have at least one hot take of my own to add to the pile that is CSH Discourse. Luckily for you, it's not only correct, but also pretty chill compared to some others I've seen in the abyss that is r/CSHFans.
As somebody who isn't a huge fan of the numbered albums (The first four albums Will made), I split up CSH's discography into two parts when thinking about it as a whole: the big (in both size and scope) albums, and the smaller ones. I consider Twin Fantasy (Both Versions), Monomania, How to Leave Town, Teens of Denial, and Making A Door Less Open to be the 5 "big albums". I don't declare this with any authority, just that I find it easier to think of these 5 as the more focused and more album-y albums than something like Nervous Young Men or My Back Is Killing Me Baby.
Anyways, the reason I say all this is to say that, of the 5 "big albums", my favorite is How To Leave Town, which I feel like is one of the more underappreciated albums of his discography, and especially out of those 5. Why is that?
The Vibes
As with most Ephemeral things, be it gender, sexuality, or the fiction ideas you get while stoned out of your mind at 1 AM, vibes are very hard to explain. For me, How To Leave Town just has an energy about it. It's dark and melancholic but also bittersweet, depressing but hopeful. It carries the ambivalence that I get when I'm sitting on my bed, just thinking, and I suddenly feel my perspective switch and suddenly look at a part of my life in a completely different direction. When I listen to the 5 Minute Long instrumental intro to the first song on How To Leave Town, The Ending of Dramamine, I start to feel this weird pulsing feeling in my chest, like the onset of an anxiety attack, but not in a bad way. It's not that I feel sad or happy or any emotion, it's that I just feel. And that's really cool. Am I reading too much into my own reaction to some weird electronic beats? Yup, but it's very based pog of me to do so.
The Lyrics
Will is a goat lyricist, and I feel like he represents that nowhere more so than in How To Leave Town. The Ending of Dramamine has my favorite verse pretty much ever:
And in the sky, there is a place Where it's warm, and you're there And I've got the power now Yeah, I know what to do To make you feel something besides pain 'Cause it's the love That we've come to expect, to deserve And then we fuck and it's nice It's not a complicated mess And my back doesn't hurt And your head doesn't tell you to kill yourself So we smile and embrace Until we don't know who we are
Like this is a major mood ngl. Will is able to build a story of leaving home and being in this place of extreme change and how that makes you question everything around you, not through plot points but through lyrics that create that emotional response.
You can drive across the whole thing in four days if you really wanted leaving custom thank you notes in all the houses you ever haunted
in this whole solar system we've only met one type of life it's the living kind of life and it's not one I recognize
Of course, change isn't always bad! In You're in Love with Me, How to Leave Town gets a fully happy song, where Will happily sings about falling in love, as well as when he had a dream where Obama came to his birthday party. It's weird and silly and sweet and I love it so much.
The Instrumentals
I'm not a musician, and I don't know shit about music theory, I just sing and listen to a lot of music. However, even I can tell that man oh man, the synths in this album slap, along with all the other instrumental work. Can I say anything beyond that it's really good? Nope!
The Conclusion
I'm planning on using this blog (when I'm not reblogging Homestuck Fanart) to just post little essay thingies like this on albums I really like. Please add any albums you think I might like in the tags/comments (do people use comments on tumblr? I'm very new to this) or just send me an ask and I'll post some tiny thoughts about it if I get the time to listen to it! Anyways that's it peace out gamers

Shipper Tag Game
Thank you @godotismissingx for the tag! ❤️❤️❤️
Sorry that it took so much time 😅
Okay let's go!
1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?
There were some k-pop ships I used to ship but as time went by I just stopped. Maybe because I’m not as much into k-pop as I used to be.
I also don’t ship any of Hetalia’s characters anymore.
2. Which ship would you consider your first one?
Stella and Brandon from Winx Club or Kevin and Gewn from Ben 10: Alien Force. That was even before I was aware of what shipping was.
While I was aware, I think it was Shizaya? Durarara was one of the first animes I watched. And Heiwajima Shizuo and Orihara Izaya's love-hate relationship was so good for a 12-year-old me.
Or it could be SasuNaru…
3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?
Written it was Merciless.
But read? That was so long time ago...
I remember I found some Ben 10 stories on the Internet and I read a lot of them as a kid.
But when I read and I was aware I was reading fanfics it was most likely SasuNaru or Darry. It was most likely still on Wattpad or fanfiction.net. On or those self-publishing blogs. Those were popular back then.
4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?
Probably SasuNaru. Or another ship that was popular at the beginning of the 2010s.
5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?
I try not to. I mostly believe that fiction is fiction and when I don't like something I just don't read it.
I like to read people's points of view though.
6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?
Not really. I used to hate UkFrance from Hetalia but now I just don't care. And I never really shipped Destiel. But I'm not sure I would call them a no-otp.
7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?
A new chapter of Merciless fic that I'm always waiting for was published. It's called Hidsight by duty_free. AND IT'S AWESOME, GO READ IT. It's a wonderful continuation to The Merciless that can actually fix those two morons (I have hope, it's still ongoing)
Before it, my friend @frayed-at-the-seams published her fic about Junho and Hoyeol from D.P. It's called Dogs and Cats. It's an interesting supernatural spin on the original story and it allows Junho and Hoyeol to be cute ❤️
8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?
Of course. My absolute favorite obsession is Han Jaeho x Jo Hyunsoo from The Merciless
But there is more:
Roronora Zoro x Sanji (Zosan) from One Piece
Sakata Gintoki x Hijikata Toshirou (GinHiji) from Gintama
Shizuo Heiwajima x Orihara Izaya (Shizaya) from Durarara!!
Oga Tatsumi x Furuichi Takayuki (OgaFuru) from Beelzebub
Lee Dongsik x Han Juwon from Beyond Evil
Kang Yohan x Kim Gaon (GaHan) from Devil Judge
An Junho x Han Hoyeol from D.P.
Miyuki Kazuya x Sawamura Eijun (MiyuSawa) from Ace of Diamond
James T. Kirk x Spock from Star Trek
Merlin x Arthur Pendragon from BBC Merlin
James Bond x Q (00Q) from James Bond movies
Harry Hart x Gary "Eggsy" Unwin from Kingsman movies
Tony Stark aka Iron Man x Steve Rogers aka Captain America from Marvel Comics (comics only.)
Peter Parker aka Spiderman and Wade Wilson aka Deadpool from the Marvel Comics
Loid Forger x Yor Forger from SPY X FAMILY
Hino Eiji x Akhn (EiAn) from Kamen Rider OOO
Shijima Go x Chase from Kamen Rider Drive
Kiryu Sento x Banjo Ryuga from Kamen Rider Build
and many many more
Also as an exception to my k-pop rule, I still ship ChanBaek from EXO.
9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?
Robin and Barney from How I Met Your Mother. I get that it was planned from the beginning for Ted to end up with Robin but did they have to make Robin and Barney so good???
Also, Merthur, like they had a whole story about them? All 5 seasons?
And Sterek.
10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?
Zeke x Levi from Shingeki no Kyojin. I used to not be much into it but there is an amazing reincarnation comic AU on twitter (here) with them and I have to say that they have a potential.
11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be canceled over?
Not sure... There were some ships that I wasn't aware of age. I don't mind ships with big age differences but I like for both parties to be over 18.
So maybe as an example Levi x Eren? Eren was 15 and now looking back I'm not sure if I would ship it.
12. What was your favorite crack ship?
Tried to think of something but my head is empty. I don't believe I don't have any crack ships!
13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics of?
Shizaya, GinHiji or ChanBaek. They have big fandoms so I could just move from one fic to another.
Also YoonMin. I used to ship them a lot but now not really but I read a lot of fics with them.
14. What most of your ships usually have in common?
They usually banter or tease each other. Those love-hate relationships are my favorites. And more of them lately have an age difference.
15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?
Lack of chemistry? I hate too much drama but also don't like where everything is fine. And cheating.
tagging (no preassure): @daxianme @yardmargs @frayed-at-the-seams @bobafvcks @babischlong-six @stanaclown @igonecrazy @chhagiya @lovemevermore @ilikeallthepenguins @manproposes-goddisposes @backtomanyang @inashoe @darktecno @areththeimagine and everyone who wants :)

not to bring kff discourse into your house, but recently i encountered some people who said that they “didn’t take kin that seriously” but also held spiritual beliefs about their kin types & seemed to genuinely identify as them to at least some extent. and that got me thinking: i bet there’s a lot of ‘kins who feel alienated from the whole otherkin/therian community & how, for lack of a better term, intense it can seem at times, and sort of end up downplaying their own experiences. i know that im not particularly active in the therian community for similar reasons — my theriotype is spiritually & personally important to me, but it’s just one aspect of my life & identity, and i don’t personally feel the need to blog about it or write essays about it or what have you. i think it might be just a more lowkey, not particularly exciting or interesting part of life for some ‘kins
You're absolutely right that a lot of people just don't care enough about their nonhumanity to participate in the community, and that's totally fine - and, let's be real, it's also just one aspect of my life and identity, y'all just only really see me talk about it because I have a sideblog specifically dedicated to it (unless you also follow my main, in which case you do see all the other nonsense I'm invested in and know just how true this is). That's always been the case and it's totally fine; you're not obligated to be super actively engaged with every demographic you're technically a part of.
There's also definitely a fair number of people who are legitimately nonhuman but feel alienated because the community is too intense, which might be a problem or might be fine depending on the individual (because again, you're not obligated to be involved if you don't really care about it enough to do so, but if you want to be involved and feel scared to be that's a problem) - or... because they feel like they're not allowed to have fun with their kintypes, which is the thing I feel like is most likely an actual problem.
But like... honestly, I don't actually know how to fix that at this point. If you're actually active in the community, or even just follow the otherkin tag, you see how much of the content posted there is extremely casual and having fun. I literally just reblogged a for-kicks-and-giggles silly 30 day challenge a couple days ago, and I'm probably on the more serious end of the spectrum as far as typical post content goes. The community is already a lot less hyperserious than it used to be (which I don't think is a bad thing, even if sometimes I wish there was a bit more in the way of serious discussion posts). It honestly seems to me like there's already plenty of space for people to joke around and not be super serious about their 'kinity. Very, very rarely you come across someone who genuinely thinks you shouldn't ever joke around about or have fun with being 'kin or you're a Faker, but it is most definitely not the majority of the community and those people usually find themselves pretty ostracized because they're usually not super enjoyable to be around.
But, to your point on KFF discourse and how that's affected this whole thing, there are people who see "stop claiming this is something you do for fun and that's the entire purpose" and somehow read that as "you're not allowed to have fun with being 'kin at all," and genuinely I do not know why people think the former leads to the latter because it doesn't imply that at all, that's actually a pretty giant leap in logic from one to the other in my humble opinion. Which means I don't really know how to fix it other than to keep banging pots and pans like I already have been about how those two statements are not remotely the same.
But that's just my two cents' worth on the whole "the community's too serious and it drives people away" thing.

I think the reward thing is not only challenging RB. Because I think Charles knows there is nothing he can do in the race. And as much as he says he wants to fight for wins he also is not delusional.
But the next target is Alonso and Merc/Aston Martin. Mercedes is not better in race pace at the moment and even in a single lap they are a bit behind still so I would say the target is AM. But Aston is way better in the race, they don’t eat tyres as much. So to fight as we’ve seen in Bahrain and Baku, we have to be in front. And also right now Carlos is still a bit too far behind pace wise (I know he qualified higher but I’m only talking about pure pace there and even this week end for now he is not really there. The gap to Fernando is not great)
I think that’s why Charles took this risk. And maybe the setup is compromised fo Sunday (race pace and maybe rain).
Still a mistake. And I think what’s worse is that he did the same twice which never happens to him. But also we want him to push always. And if he does not try then we are behind Merc and Aston and we should just work on next year. But we better win it then.
Season is still long. We’ve seen what he can do even with this years’ car (Bahrain, Jeddah until he got stuck and he started way behind, Baku) so it’s not too dramatic. It’s really more about what Twitter say right now, and it’s pointless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, definitely a good point about Aston. They were kind of asleep last weekend, Alonso had DRS issues on his car, whatever. But this weekend they're definitely "back" to what we were used to. The good news is I guess there's only one AM in the top ten to worry about; but at the same time there's only one Ferrari to fend off Alonso, and usually Charles is the guy you want to try and keep a faster car behind. He's also generally better at balancing tyre management without compromising much on pace/performance. Alonso's already talking about wanting to overtake Checo right at the start so it sounds like he's not even rating Ferrari and jumping straight to how to beat RB which 💀
The frustrating thing is how extreme the extremes are when it comes to Charles? Like, he's celebrated for ten minutes for breaking the streak of Red Bull poles and giving hope that they can be challenged, even if just in qualy. But then he makes a mistake and people will linger on that and you'll be hearing about it for the next ten months as some kind of gotcha argument that his super licence should be revoked because he clearly can't drive. I mean 🥴🥴
I know "only as good as your last race" is a thing, and it affects all drivers to a degree, but it's gotten to a point where the recency bias and the knee-jerk reactions jump out if he has so much as a bad lap, or a bad session. Never mind a bad race. The race hasn't even happened yet, and he's already getting torn to shreds. I know he's mentally strong and mature enough to not let it get to him, but the discourse around him is frustrating to witness all the same. People are so reluctant to praise him for a job well done, to recognize that he's often going above and beyond in subpar machinery, but the second he makes a mistake the hammer comes down and suddenly everyone's a staunch critic coming out of the woodwork.

Hello again👉👈
I love the Darling Escape so they rant about it on Twitter AU
Can you imagine the adopted father someone else who is also extremely famous like Leon or Steven their fans are currently at war with Submas fandom.
That's shit will be all over the news lmao.
Or hear me out:
Immortal!Volo
Back story
Ingo and his darling got Hisuied before they got together and Volo fell for his darling . And the feelings were mutual until Spear pillar.
After decades of a lonely Immortal existence Volo finds them again wandering the streets with a kid in tow... maybe Almighty Sinnoh is forgiving him
Ingo recognizes him from his Hisuian life and he is confused.
Oh! Emmet knows him alright...from all the stories ingo's darling and him have told when they were both in Hisui five hundred years ago.
Emmet's out for blood
Volo
i think it cut you off, friend
i think they fanbase wars would be a sight to behold. there's so many famous people they could date in the pokemon world too. piers, nessa, wallace, ect. general public discourse with extreme misinformation included about what happened between s/o and the train twins.
though... Volo would be an interesting choice. He could definitely keep them safe with his talents as a trainer and all the knowledge he would have obtained throughout such a long lifespan. When he sees you again, deep, complex feelings arise. It's worsened with small boy clinging to you, identical to the Warden. Volo was well aware of how toxic the relationship that was had between you and Ingo. Even without his memories, there was frightening nature to him that sought to hold you away from the world in his cabin; to have you as his perfect little partner. Volo offered an escape from that, often busying himself with whatever you were doing in order to ward off the Warden. It didn't always work, but the blond at least served as deterrent.
Volo and you had a secret relationship, not wanting to stir up any drama between the clans, the Ginkgo Guild, and the clans. Everything being very hush-hush and only happening out in the fields or in the privacy of your home. It made him feel awful for using you, but his goals were his main drive in his life. Surely, you would accept a place at his side when he became a god. That was never to be, the shock and horror on your face when he revealed his intentions. You were merciless in cutting him down and running away back to Ingo. It crushed him. He had never felt such strong emotions before and, just like that, you were gone from him. The curse of eternal life was punishment for his actions, forced to walk this earth until it finally ended.
You, on the other hand, returned to Unova with Ingo. Your life immediately took a down-turn as you both landed directly in front of Emmet as he left the station. His panic by having both his partner and brother seemingly just appear before him sends him directly into hysterics. You are both rushed away to his apartment. Ingo is sat down on the couch, while you are immediately bound to the bed. Tearing up, you beg from him to uncuff you, but he just shakes his head. He isn't losing you a second time. Ingo finds himself inclined to agree with Emmet's decisions. Memories slowly return to you both and realise just how much better it would have been for you to remain in Hisui. Neither will ever let you go, too lost in their sick ideas of devotion and love, with obsession and possession tossed in for good measure.
It is only after you have your son, do you finally feel confident enough for an escape attempt. It's successful. Free at long last, you managed to get a boat ride to Sinnoh from the ports in Castelia. Why Sinnoh? Well, something poetic seemed heavy in the air about returning to the place. You scrape by there, living a quiet, boring life while raising your son to the best of your abilities. His interest in trains unsettles you, but he's not his father.
During an outing to the market, you take him with you. It's there a familiar man comes into your sight. Long, blond hair tied back into a bun with stormy grey eyes, an amicable smile that seeks to hide more; there is no doubt in your mind that Volo stands before you. Centuries into the future, your past lover existed with you once more. He seems shocked to see you, too. His exposed eye travelling to your son. "Ah, I see," is all he says. He moves to leave, but you grab onto his coat. Desperately, you ask him how he's been. No words need to be spoken: you are no longer with Ingo.
He knows this, of course, because of the desperate posts to find you and the boy all over the internet. The blond allows himself to walk with you to the store, a casual conversation settling between you two with discussions of what had been doing. Wandering, mostly, Volo claimed. By the end, when you were supposed to part, he asks you, "Do you need help?" You swallow nervously, eyes moving to the small boy who stares back up at you. You nod. Volo will right the wrong he committed by you.
It's a strange role Volo settles into, fatherhood. The boy adores him like one, certainly, desperate for another parent. The blond sees how much he resembles Ingo but ponders whether the boy even has a clue of his parentage. He supposes not, when he earns the title 'papa' with ease. You settle into an easy, equal relationship with Volo. The love never truly leaving him towards you. You feel much safer, knowing that Volo and his pokemon are around to chase off any unwanted attention. Your life feels complete, a loving boyfriend and a child to occupy your time and heart.
Of course, the dark shadowed that loomed over you was still refusing to leave. A trip to Jublife City with the two brought horror with it. The twins were visiting a museum there, an exhibition about the Wardens of the clans catching Ingo's attention. The older twin stares at you and his son lovingly and sadly, his heart desperate to reclaim what was lost. Emmet looks vicious, glare firmly affixed to the arm around your waist. Volo stared at them curiously. What would they do? Make such a scene in a populated area? It would not end well, especially with Volo's connection to a certain champion. A single phone call could land the two in a world of trouble. Of course, all the needed to do with get you and your son out of Sinnoh for their victory.
Ingo tells Emmet, in terror, that it's him. He's the one who ripped him and their partner from Unova. That was Volo who stood beside you with an affectionate display. Emmet felt violent. This scum had already hurt him so much, yet he sought to do more damage. It was hard to hold himself back with their son looked up at the blond and asked him who those 'weirdos' were. He called him dad. A knife couldn't pierce the tension that lay heavy in the air around the five of you.
