To my fellow Christians, continue to be good Bereans. Many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world -- distorting the Gospel, bringing reproach upon the Name of God and twisting Scripture -- and they do not care about your spiritual health and development.
If someone gives a false prophecy, or says they have a word from the Lord and it does not come to past -- do not listen to them. Doctrine and lifestyle must be used to determine if the teacher is a good teacher or a false one. Avoid the false teachers and call them out. It isn't loving not to call them out because if we do not call false teachers out, they will destroy people. Pray that God will give them mercy and repentance.

“I’m not going to do the thing because I don’t view it as important.” ← Conscious decision made of your own free will.
“I want to do the thing because I view it as important, but trying to get myself to do the thing creates the same reaction as trying to put my hand on a hot stove would.” ← Executive dysfunction, a physical health problem that doesn’t answer to your own free will.
“Trying to get myself to do the thing creates the same reaction as trying to put my hand on a hot stove would. This must mean I don’t actually want to do the thing and I’m just tricking myself into thinking I do.” ← No, that’s still executive dysfunction, but you’re having brainworms about it.

Things crystals can do: be an object of focus for a meditation, visualisation or ritual ~ be a visual reminder of your goals/intentions ~ have meaning SPECIFIC TO YOU that strengthens over time and with repeated use ~ be a psychological ‘anchor’ ~ look pretty ~ hurt worse than Lego when stepped on
Things crystals cannot do: heal illness ~ stand in for medical treatments or vaccinations ~ purify water ~ heal dogs or children ~ deflect bad vibes ~ have inherent magickal powers ~ replace therapy or psych meds
Witchcraft is about discernment, not believing in everything. Wisdom is a balance of intuition, learning, experience and critical thinking.

The main reason it's important to be at least somewhat literate in historical paganism and folk magic isn't so you can make your own practice exactly like it; it's to be able to recognize when someone is making historically inaccurate claims, because "asserting made-up shit about history as real fact" is a sign you're possibly looking at a cult and/or scam.
For the same reason, it's a good idea to be somewhat literate in pop culture media. Because being able to look at something a person is trying to pass off as Genuine Ancient Tradition or something and recognize that it's nothing like anything people actually believed or did back in Ye Olden Times but it sure as heck resembles something from a popular TV show or TTRPG is a valuable discernment skill.

A point of disambiguation I feel we should discuss more is "feeling" the gods vs. experiencing them.
Feelings are first and foremost a measurement of homeostasis: They indicate your body's reaction to circumstances inside it and around it.
One way religious cults compromise the cognitive faculties of its congregates is by teaching them to interpret "feeling good" as the presence of a higher power. This makes it so members can't meaningfully separate their emotional experience from a religious context. They can't leave the religion without losing the entire paradigm through which they interpret their own feelings.
Here are some things that typically give people euphoria that have nothing to do with the presence of higher powers:
Thinking about a beloved individual, including beloved deities
The act of singing
Music, especially live music
Being around nature; witnessing spectacular natural phenomena
Stories and storytelling
Orgasm
Oxygen; deep breathing and any activites that prompt it.
What DOES indicate a god or spirit is the experience of a unique personality, demonstrated through whatever medium the spirit decides to use. This doesn't feel like an emotion, but like an energy.
Now, it's possible to have an emotional reaction to a spiritual energy—no doubt we would—but this is still just us, reacting. And the purpose of reacting is to understand how it is we feel about their presence. It doesn't measure the true nature or intentions of the entity.
Differentating emotions from energies can take time, but it's worth it.

A bit of a follow up on what @creature-wizard said about the vibes bits: vibes can just be flat out wrong.
There are people who are simply great at acting, pretending, dissembling, disguising. Some people are really good at hiding their true natures and personalities. And more often than not, you don't get a glimpse of the side of a person's real self until you actually get to know them. Like, I'm autistic, and I'm very good at masking, especially when in the presence of strangers. "You can't judge a book by its cover" came from somewhere.
The vibes you're getting from someone, might just be the vibes that they want you to/are letting you get.

We talk about discernment with the outside world with witchcraft a LOT, but what about discernment with yourself? Can you tell if you are truly capable of showing up and putting your all into your daily practice, that spell, or that long ritual today? Do you know when to say - never mind, I gathered all of the ingredients for this but nope, I'm too tired. My mind is scatted. I got in a fight with my partner and now I'm not in a "Abundance" mood.
For me, most of the time, its an energy thing. I have a chronic illness and when I'm in a pain flair up, I have to go to half speed. Some of my magic can be done at half speed and some of it can't. Sure, I might be able to power through a complete it anyway, but if it costs me the rest of the week in recovery, is it worth it?

Saying "yes" to one path on life's journey ultimately means saying "no" to many other options. That's the bottom line with the fear of commitment — a fear of missing out on something else. What if something better comes along? […] Despite what today's culture tells us, no one can have everything. It's a difficult lesson to learn, but it is the reality. With every life choice we make, we negate a thousand other options.
Fr. Chris Bethge, "Fear of Commitment"
