Etho: I've just been feeling kinda washed up and burnt out lately, like I don't know anything anymore
Iskall: Hey, what kind of flower is this?
Etho: A cornflower, also known as Centaurea cyanus or bachelor's button, native to temperate Europe but naturalized in North America, favored as a food source by both bees and European goldfinches
Iskall:
Etho: So anyway, I feel super dumb

Going back to this thing briefly
When adapting this chapter into an episode Toei did not explain nor demonstrate to us what the fuck that spike was (instead they gave us Sables #378545), so we're no closer to finding out what kinda new moves Crocodile might have up his sleeve, whether that really was a Haki-infused sand spike or what
But when I was checking the melting point of sand out of curiosity (to figure out if Crocodile has a fighting chance against Akainu, which in theory he does because Akainu isn't hot enough to melt sand (in theory)), I was reminded of the fact that sand is mostly made of silica
Or, in other words, quartz. Sand is, on average, made of crystal.
Of course, sand is also made of other things and other minerals (not just quartz), but if we wanted to assume Croc's DF is made of one element and one element alone, then let's just assume it's 100% silica, right
And now I can't help but to wonder now though
Could Crocodile have learned a new technique where he somehow compresses and hardens his sand so much it can turn into large, solid crystals? Or more specifically, sharp pointy stabby weapons to murder people with? 'Cause. How fucking cool would that be
Also considdering how much Crocodile likes his bling, being able to form crystals to murder people with would arguably be on-brand for him

Day 7 of dark cream ship week: Porcelain
final day :D
The porcelain doll lost its mask.
It tumbled down the earth and broke in many pieces, each sharp, each fragile.
Without it, its head's inside was exposed.
Bunch of moving cogs, darkened by grease.
Everybody could see its ugliness and maybe, that was only fair.
Its beauty gone, everybody started to leave him, starting with the ones who sang its charms before.
Its insides were out in the open and people did not enjoy the sight.
It gave up on the remains of its delicate face and leaned into what people finally saw it as.
An abnormality, a truly nightmarish being.
It stopped playing nice and started sneering at others' vulnerabilities.
It cackled and laughed.
It didn't feel as good as it thought it would.
But the world continued and the porcelain doll was forgotten.
It let go.
Why fighting?
It wouldn't give him back its face.
Did it even want it back?
Going back to the times people admired it?
It wasn't fully certain.
So when the only one who never stopped looking at him came bearing an unexpected gift, it didn't know the right answer.

Skulduggery Pleasant Realisation
So there I was, going around for years picturing Skulduggery Pleasant as looking 30-something when he died, because he was married with a kid and already part of an elite black-ops unit
But then I started rereading the series again and realised that Skulduggery was about 130 years old
Remembering how China told Valkyrie it would take about 200 years for her to look 25
This fucker was going around fighting a whole war looking like a 22-23 year old guy and that suddenly explains so much about the Dead Men, like they were basically just a group of college friends
I don't know how to feel about this, feel free to correct my math if I'm wrong
