Prison of glass.
This is a sample of a story I came up with, please leave your thoughts and how I can improve in my writing style!
The summer breeze blew softly into soft chestnut hair, tangling it just a bit. Akko stood on a balcony in a long white dress, small gems and stars were engraved, and crafted in great detail.
To say the least, Akko loved her wedding dress. Today was her special day, the day she'll marry her high school sweetheart; Diana Cavendish.
Akko never thought that one day, she would marry the same Diana Cavendish she considered a rival, the Diana Cavendish she saw as cocky and arrogant.
The same Diana Cavendish that lectured her to be more careful while practicing broom riding so she wouldn't break an arm (which she still did), it was ironic to her.
Ever since Akko convinced Diana to return to her studies, they've become rather close. At first, they were quite awkward, not knowing how to interact with each other or start up a conversation, but over time, they warmed up and were two peas in a pod.
One was reckless and energetic, the other was assertive and calm, the polar opposites.
It wasn't a surprise when both girls developed feelings for each other, Amanda used that to her advantage to tease both girls. But, it was extremely painful when both girls were walking around eggshells, both oblivious to the other's feelings.
Now, however, was a start of a new chapter in their relationship. Something that will be remembered for years to come.
Akko smiled to herself, watching the sunset over the horizon, it was all perfect.
She returned inside, tears and other emotions were ready to slip out. She was truly happy with what happened, and how everything came to play to get her to the spot she is in now.
"Akko? Are you ready?" Lotte asked, she was holding the bouquet of blue and red flowers, a theme that surprised no one. Lotte herself was wearing a red dress that reached her knees, she was one of the bridesmaids, a beautiful one to be exact.
"Hurry up before ice queen gets cold feet." Sucy snickered, she was in a red suit with a loose bun to match.
Lotte elbowed Sucy in the side, giving her a side glance that earned an eye roll from the taller woman. "Don't worry Akko," Lotte said, placing a warm hand on the bride's shoulder. "Everyone gets nervous on their wedding day"
"Not everyone" Sucy murmured, gaining another elbow jab to the side.
"I'm not nervous," Akko grinned, "I'm just taking time to remember all the events that led me here you know?"
"Wow. That's so corny yet mature of you, did you drink one of my potions?" Sucy asked, eyeing the shorter girl who laughed at the suspicion. "No Sucy, still the same Akko that almost ruined your wedding day!"
Sucy narrowed her visible eye, glaring at the woman in white who looked back with a glint of amusement in her crimson eyes. "You're lucky I was too busy enjoying the moment with Lotte, I would've fed you to Alcor."
Lotte sighed, grabbing her wife's hand and looking back at the bride. "We'll let you be for a while, remember that you have to be at the alter in 30 minutes"
"I won't forget to arrive at my own wedding Lotte!" Akko huffed
Lotte eyed her with a look that said 'are you sure about that?'
With another huff, Akko said goodbye to her friends. Closing the door behind them, she let a small smile creep back on her lips.
"Love? Were those your friends?”
Akko turned around and was met with two warm baby-blue eyes looking at her, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of her fiancé/soon-to-be wife in a white dress that was slightly shorter than her own.
"Yeah, they were, sorry for not warning you Diana. I'm so out of it today" Akko signed, rubbing her head to soothe the throbbing headache that she had.
Diana smiled softly at her bride, guiding her hand to cup Akko's cheek. Akko leaned into the touch and smiled back warmly, placing her hand over Diana's.
"Would you allow me to help soothe your headache? It would be quite upsetting if you couldn't fully enjoy this day of ours if that troublesome headache of yours doesn't calm down."
Akko laughed, "You're always talking very fancy when you're nervous Diana. I can tell!"
Diana only smiled in reply, she took out her wand and whispered a spell under her breath, gently, touching Akko's forehead with the wand.
Akko flinched in pain, groaning, she stepped away from Diana and rubbed her forehead.
"Feeling better?" Diana asked, stepping closer to her bride
Akko nodded as she continued rubbing her aching head, she opened her eyes, and gone were the crimson red eyes that were always filled with excitement. They were now replaced by tired bright green eyes, green eyes that matched Diana's.
"I'm glad you're feeling better... Now, shall we continue to our wedding?"
Akko nodded again, giving her fiencé a tired smile. They linked their arms together and walked out of the room, but, not before Diana looked back and smirked at the mirror holding another Diana who banged on the glass, desperate to get out.
That Diana had her hair messed up, and her dress torn and ragged. Her baby blue eyes were filled with fear and anger. She was angry about being replaced entirely by a different person
Muffled yells and screams took over the room, it was a chilling sight. Diana, looked right at the mirror with a massive grin on her face, "Who's the superior witch now, Diana Cavendish?"
