Eri couldn't shake the nervousness she felt when lunch time came around. Somehow needles were more scary than the time she spent with Overhaul. But she trusted Aizawa. Despite his stoic nature, something about his demeanor told her that he'd go to the end of the world to protect her. 'I know you don't like this but it'll be over quick, okay?' Kneeling to be at eye level with Eri, he gently grabbed her hand.

'Heard you built a snowman with Izuku earlier.' Hoping the excitement from the day's events could distract her from how tightly he had to squeeze the pad of her finger. 'Mhm, got torn down by our snowball fight. Zashi made cocoa for us.'

'Is that why there's all those water puddles at the door?' Aizawa already knew the answer to his question. The distraction successful as he was able to squeeze a droplet of blood without her even noticing. Letting her ramble on about how his students made a blanket fort and had gotten through half their Disney movie before he had called them all for lunch. A few seconds passing before the monitor flashed its reading. 'All done,' Placing a Tinkerbell bandaid where her finger had been poked. 'Now go have fun.' Watching as she ran back to the fort. Glad it had fallen in the needed range.

Aizawa joining a little after putting the glucose monitor in its bag. Sitting down in the cushy recliner with a mug of hot cocoa and fuzzy socks. In casual clothes like the rest of them. Bakugo grabbing the yellow throw blanket behind him, tucking Aizawa in as he was quickly reduced to snores.

He tightens his hold on Peter’s hands and says, “I’m so sorry.”

“It’s fine,” Peter murmurs, offers up a clunky little shrug and looks down at the carpet.

“It’s not,” Harley tells him—voice insistent yet shaky. “It’s not fine. You’re alive, and I’m so fucking glad that you’re alive, but—but I wish you could be alive without having to have all of that weighing you down. I—I wish you were weightless, you know? Just… healthy and happy, without all the bad things.”

idk who needs to hear this but diabetics can have sugar. they can have as much sugar as they want as long as they take the appropriate amount of insulin. the only reason diabetics are ever told to lower their sugar intake is to reduce the amount of insulin they use. and almost every sugar free alternative sweetener is either a literal carcinogen or insanely expensive. not to mention the fact that sugar is naturally occurring in every. single. thing. you. eat.

a bit of a more personal piece. I deal with Type 1 Diabetes. The Lord God almighty has seen me through so much over 23 years of maintaining it. It's been rough but God is ever faithful.

I sometimes see other T1D people where they embrace it to the point thats all they are- someone with T1D. I can't help but feel sad about that. I have joy in my identity with the Lord and not my condition and I hope other find their identities in Him as well.

But for those who arent, Who are you besides the needles,pumps,finger sticks,and highs and lows? There's more to life than just your numbers and corrections. Take care of yourself, but please remember: You are not your T1D. You are stronger than your T1D.

watched Wonka yesterday with the expectation that i would have the worst experience of my life and then come on here and leave a massive rant review but that movie was just so. inoffensively bland. for the most part. about 5 min in i forgot that this was about Willy Wonka and i started having an okay time. idk how you make a movie about that guy and have him be the least interesting part of it. by pulling all of his teeth apparently. the evil chocolatier polycule were better characterizations of Willy Wonka than the actual Willy Wonka of this movie. that man isn't just a funny quirky silly little dude he is also a ruthless capitalist and an actual inhuman monster (same thing tbh). why are we so in denial about it? that's the entire point and appeal of his character! the contrast! i get the allure of the wholesome escapist fantasy but if that's what you want he's just not the character for it i'm sorry.
