mads morey: he's probably read a couple of books that taught him how to fight IN THEORY and he is tall. however, a kick to the knees would fell him. much like a big tree.

dian morey: he has been inside the human body, like, surgically. he knows how to kill u. he also has big brother instincts, and these are vital.

gem morey: he went to prison. this is a very good resume for this kind of question.

and devyn isn't on the list bc he is Baby and the idea of fighting him simply UPSETS me!

Trouble - Smokey Quartz

The moment that Grey walked into this party she knew she was out of her depth.

She had assumed, having gone to frat parties in America, that the "open to everyone end-of-the-year uni party" would be totally chill in comparison. She had very clearly forgotten that British kids have been drinking legally for way longer than she has, and beyond that, she's a total lightweight. She just watched four guys pour what looked like an entire litre of cider down their throats each and then start talking about properties of physics, or something? Like they were completely sober? Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.

Grey quietly made her way to the kitchen, took a shot of very cheap vodka that burned so bad she had to stifle a cough. She looked out over a sea of vaguely familiar faces, hoping no one noticed her handle her liquor like a big baby. She hasn't really made any friends outside her artsy little cohort, but that's because she hasn't tried very much. She's usually an extrovert, she's usually fabulous at making friends, but she's been off her game since the move. Especially recently...she's been more or less hiding in her room and squirrelling junk food for sustenance for the last several days.

Just when she was considering giving up on this outing, and returning to the comfortable embrace of Jaffa Cakes, Monster Munch, Red Bull and Queer Eye, she saw Gem from across the room. The only person she knew by name.

The only thing she really knows about him is he's Devyn and Elli's brother, was lowkey a dick to her that one time, that he's actually really funny on twitter, and that he accidentally set his family's booth on fire at the Farmer's Market. Is that enough to start a conversation on? Probably...not.

Another shot will help.

She knocked a second one back, with more grace than the first, but her lips still screwed up in a sour expression after swallowing. She then tried to gracefully cross the room, but crowded spaces are a winged-girl's worst nightmare, and she ended up bumping into and excuse me-ing basically everyone on the way to him.

"Hi," she said, huffing and smoothing her hair out, "you, uh, probably don't remember me."

Detour || Silly Rabbit

Devyn Morey had pink paint on his cheek as he walked up the path to Jessica Rabbit’s front door. There were a smattering of signs in their arms commissioned by the homeowner. Devyn had been very busy as of late with all of his different commissions. Nick’s van, Jessica’s signs, the Ruff to Fluff portraits, as well as a random collection of Reflective Essences projects. Not to even mention the stuff they had to make for school!

Honestly, how Devyn found the time for anything that wasn’t paint-related was astounding.

They pressed the doorbell, not entirely certain how they worked. His was a blinking light! Before he could ponder it further he was facing the very woman he’d come to see!

While Dian Morey, local (former?) doctor and known name around town, has returned to Swynlake, almost a year has passed since his disappearance and the question still remains: Where was he? 

The doctor was originally thought to be long gone after the horrible night of the Blackwell Gala. Lives were lost that night and many others injured due, but all were accounted for. Except for one. The Morey family were very vocal about wanting to find the eldest son of the family. They posted on social media and hung up missing persons flyers around town. Supposedly he was still missing for weeks, which then turned into months. There was speculation of what could have happened to him, most fearing the worst as the known doctor was not characterized as someone to pick up and leave without a word to not only his place of work but to his family, which is allegedly very close to one another. 

That family being made up of Padme and Rohan Morey, the parents of 7 children:

The eldest, Dian Morey, the subject in question.

Mahzar Morey, a PhD student at Pride University who also teaches Middle Eastern studies. He also has a podcast, Let’s Talk About…

Isaac Morey, a teacher at Swynlake Primary in the nursery. 

Elliot Morey, a firefighter for the Swynlake Firebrigade. 

Sebastian Morey, who works for the family construction company as an accountant. 

Gem Morey also works for the family company as a contractor. He was also in jail previous to his return to Swynlake in August of 2021 after having burned down a section of Swynlake Secondary. 

Devyn Morey, an art student at Pride University. 

All except Dian were adopted. 

After 6 months of Dian Morey being missing he reappeared. On March 27th, 2022 at the opening day of Swynlake’s annual Farmer’s Market the man was spotted approaching his family’s booth. One would suspect that it would have been a joyous occasion to have the long lost brother to have finally returned home. Instead he was greeted with violence. Allegedly Sebastian Morey threw a punch and started a spark. Literally. The pyrokinetic of the family, Gem Morey, then set fire to the family booth. The fire department was quick to put him out and most of the Morey siblings dispersed from the scene. 

From this chaotic reintroduction to Swynlake, many would assume that Dian has some sort of feud brewing between himself and the rest of his family. However, recent shocking evidence has come to light pointing not to hatred, but romance at the heart of the mystery of Dr. Morey’s disappearance.

CCTV footage secured from Castle Suites security shows Dian Morey entering and exiting the home of none other than deposed Crown Princess of Avalor, Her Royal Highness Elena Flores. These visits occurred late at night and in the early hours of the morning, and body language analysis has proven the veracity and intensity of this affair. Given the tumultuous nature of the political situation in Avalor, it is unsurprising that Princess Elena and the doctor chose to keep this scandalous affair under wraps, and that Dian Morey chose to disappear altogether. 

One may imagine a secluded life for Dian between the months of September 2021 and March 2022, dedicating his life only to his beloved princess. This risky move shows the depths of Dian’s devotion, giving up everything to pursue a woman who stands at the center of war, controversy, and so much personal heartbreak.

As for the future of Dilena, that remains to be seen. Dian’s reemergence into the public eye could indicate a heart-wrenching breakup no doubt fueled by the pressures of Princess Elena’s responsibilities as deposed princess and Dian’s withdrawal from his family and career. Alternately, the couple may have only grown in their devotion to one another, finding even more secret ways to continue their relationship while going about their regular lives. Dian Morey has, after all, remained on sabbatical from his work at Swynlake General Hospital. 

Dian Morey did not provide a comment after multiple requests.

Anna wished there was more she could do, with all this stuff in the news about magic. It wasn’t affecting her at all, because she was a Mundus, but actually, it was totally affecting her, because she was really worried about everyone! Her sister, her friends, her coworkers... she really needed to feel like she was helping in some way.

So when she saw that there were fundraising efforts happening, Anna was eager to jump in. She remembered what that woman at the lake had said about art, and while Anna didn’t really have a specific talent she was all that good at, she knew someone who did. And one of her favorite things to do with Devyn, anyway, was art.

“Okay, so I brought a ton of supplies,” Anna said, spreading out poster boards, markers, glitter pens, stickers, and paints over the table. “I’m thinking we just... make some things to spread awareness? And maybe we can put some QR codes to donate on them too?”

☠️Bones (Chef Remy Bones from Vampirina)

So I've been wanting to use Con as a grumpy character for aaaages now, and reading through the Hauntley Inn characters, this one clicked! I have a story brewing for him and I think he'd make a good "straight man" to all the crazy supernatural shenanigans that goes on around him. He just wants to die and God won't let him.

🧪Cornelius Lucy Robinson (Cornelius Robinson from Meet the Robinsons)

I would not be Scad if I wasn't on my trans bs 24/7. A bit of a different perspective, Lucy transitioned rather late in life and very much in the public eye. She's still working out the changes in her relationships, her career, and her reputation, while also trying to be a better spouse/parent than she has been. There's a lot of growth to be had, and I think it would be fun to play someone established in the Swynlake community.

💃Morgan (Morph from Treasure Planet)

So this is actually a character I have from other rps, but definitely one of my favorite to play. They are a drag queen, and in Swynverse they'd be a shapeshifting MAFIA member working at the local salon to help others transform into their true selves. I've always wanted to play them working off another villain (John Silver ideally) but I think there's a ton of fun connections they'd be able to make. Definitely the most social of any of my characters.

🔔Quasimodo (Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

MY BOY!!! Quasi was actually my first character in Swynlake when I was here years ago, and is the character I've taken with me across every Disney rp I've been in. The reason I haven't brought him back immediately is because his story was tied around some characters who aren't here anymore and I've been brainstorming how to re-adapt everything. I have some ideas, but you'll have to wait for the wanted connections edition...

I've been messing around with the idea of having a glamour fc (canonically he looks like his movie self) and am looking at Alfredo Minea.

💎Devyn Morey (Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves)

I love rping family dynamics and I think it would be a lot of fun to complete a set. I have a gift idea in mind, I'd want to play him as deaf, and I have a general personality, but if I did go this direction, I ofc would be checking in with a lot of people first!

🩺Barry Makaguchi (Baymax from Big Hero 6)

Robot characters not getting enough love!! Transhumanism themes are so much fun and I'd love to be able to explore them with this character. I think it would be really interesting watching them play off others, Magick and Mundus alike, and develop their view of the world as their AI continues to learn.

🐭Bernard Newhart (Bernard from The Rescuers)

In terms of groups I'd like to wriggle my way into, RAS is up there. Rescuers has a special place in my heart and Bernard has always been a favorite for me. Ofc I'd want to play him with his partner (whoever that might be, see wanted connections) but I think he also could be interesting on his own. What is his mission? How can he connect with other RAS members in Swynlake? Can he not blow his own cover??

🌺Tala Wailiki (Gramma Tala from Moana)

I have wanted to use Rena Owen to play Tala for soooooooo long, but haven't had the right opportunity yet. But when I saw Moana's bio meeting with her estranged grandma, I was like, huh! What's going on with that! So I have a story cooking--the idea that Tala is a revenant in Swynlake, looking for Answers to Something, while generally just being the village crazy lady. That's her job.

👻Terry House (Terry from Soul)

Listen, as a certified Annoying Virgo(tm), I love playing other Annoying Virgo types. Terry was my favorite part of Soul and I think it would be a hoot-and-a-half to play them. We got some undead types around that they could bother, but they're also an accountant at InterPride so there are those connections too. They'd be fun BECAUSE they're so boring!

🌊Ponyo (Ponyo from Ponyo)

And ofc, you can't forget about the mers! I was actually planning on picking up Ponyo in my original Swynlake run, (before my life fell apart lol) and the muse is still there. She'd be excitable and silly, which isn't a character type I get to play all too often.

💘Bebe Proud (Bebe Proud from the Proud Family + Erato)

So looking at the muses, Erato definitely stood out to me. I was wondering if I should just make an original OC or try to connect them to another Disney character, and then thought about the idea of Bebe and Cece as twin muses. Cece could be anyone, and it would open up for wider Proud Family shenanigans! The joke with Erato is instead of writing love poetry, they're a prolific multi-fandom Ao3 fic author.

WHAT: This weekend we'll be hosting our Adoption Drive event to try and find homes for our newest residents here, so be sure to come in and meet them! We'll also have raffles for gift baskets filled with tons of goodies for you and your pet! Don't forget to get a mini-portrait painting of your pet as well from Devyn Morey! Sticky Fingers {Devyn & Ollie}

Ollie had walked into the dorm with a small box. But one he couldn’t have risked to have delivered to the campus. No it was just before the end of winter break and now was the best and only time to do what he was planning to do.

After making sure Skip was out and not about to come back Ollie grabbed the box and glanced around the floor before he started to pull out the sticker placing them all over Skip’s door pausing when the elevator dinged and Ollie looked up at someone not Skip, thankfully.

“Don’t spill or I’ll find something to blackmail you with?” It was barely a threat but Ollie didn’t really want to get caught by Skip.

Whistle While You Work || Open

Devyn Morey was Deaf, with a very important capital D. This often meant that they missed things and one of those things was whistling. They’d heard of it, knew of it in pop culture and such, but they had no clue how people did it. Devyn wasn’t even sure why the thought had crossed their mind today about how whistling worked or why it would even matter if they did know how to do it because they wouldn’t be able to hear it anyway but that fact didn’t deter them from learning this very odd, very useless skill!

Devyn did what they did probably best: They stopped the next person they saw with no shame and asked them how!

Eilonwy! I have so many threads with her, I know how to spell her name now, which I genuinely didn’t think I’d ever be able to do, lmao. This Belle and Eilonwy thread is just ugh...it makes me so emotional I don’t even know how to describe it. Belle just sees so much of her younger self in Eilonwy, but like a bolder version of herself. A Belle if she was confident. They both come from backgrounds where no one really cared much about them, and I just...need Belle to adopt her because Eilonwy is my daughter. 

Jane! I’ve really liked her character since you submitted her app. I don’t remember many apps, but I totally remember hers and I remember just being really intrigued by her attitude. I love rough characters like her, especially girls. I could only like sort of interact with her every now and then, but now I am her brother, muwhahaha.

Lumiere! I love Lumiere, okay? He gives me Simba vibes. Like--just a good boy who will make friends with anyone, but he also kind of has this like Dark Past and is kind of hiding things or not being totally honest. I love that dichotomy and I can’t wait to see it play out more! Also, his FC is ... not what I expected but I actually dig it so much?
