5 SECOND REVIEW
* FUUUUUUUCK
* okay, so i've never been this angry, sad or heartbroken about a case in my life, and I would like to extend a heartfelt fuck you to the police, prosecution and trial judge involved in this mess
* i've read about a lot of fucked up shit, but this one takes the cake
* it's the story of three teenager boys hailing from a rural town in Arkansas, accused and later convicted, one of them with the death penalty, of killing 3 eight year olds
* nevermind there was zero physical evidence linking them to the murders, nevermind that one of them was coerced by the police into making a false confession, nevermind that witness testimony was false and fabricated, nevermind there was a stronger suspect that the police never thoroughly investigated, no. One of the teenagers was into heavy metal, Stephen King, and practiced Wicca - obviously this was a satanic, cult motivated murder and the other two were his accomplices
* i cannot express how many times i've yelled while reading this book and it's absolutely astounding to me how this story progressed
* it's a textbook study on the failings of the American justice system and how it always, always punishes the poor and underprivileged
* every single child involved in this story has been failed by the system and by the adults that should have been protecting them
* if you're thinking of picking this up, trigger warnings for graphic descriptions of how the victims died
* 5/5 ⭐️

“Devil's Knot“ by Atom Egoyan

"Come back, come back, we don't have time to fuck around"
The older I'm getting, the harder this line is hitting. I have been working on this piece for MONTHS. It was a little masochistic of me to make that many French knots on this big of a hoop, but in the end, the texture of them is perfect for the hedge effect in this piece inspired by Pruning Shears!

Ooooh okay so how about omegaverse "I don't think we can keep this up forever" for IWTV. Pairing is dealer's choice, whatever is most chaotic ❤️❤️
Thanks so much for sending me such a fun ask love! I chose Devil's Minion 😎😘 Here's a teaser, and you can see the full, explicit, raunchy version right here on twitter 🥳
But here's a teaser 🔥✨️
Also, please imagine Daniel being the one to say the line, which leads to Armand, whiny power bottom style, to moan, "Is that all you got?" Knowing full well that it'll get him everything 😘😎

"Feminist romance novels are everywhere. With so many options and so little time, sometimes it’s nice to have a list like this as a starting point. This is going to be a very fun list of delicious feminist romance books that you must pick up and read, but before all that, we must discuss the feminism of it all.
For the sake of this article, I am following Mikki Kendall’s approach to feminism in Hood Feminism. The idea is that committing to intersectional feminism that includes trans women, women of color, and disabled women means understanding feminist issues are inherently variable and not always immediately recognizable as feminist issues. Kendall explains, “A one-size-fits-all approach to feminism is damaging because it alienates the very people it is supposed to serve, without ever managing to support them” (3). So, while feminism is about the promotion of gender equality, that is just an element of feminism. The role of active feminists is to be aware that more than just a person’s gender impacts their access to rights and services. While I would also recommend reading bell hooks and other excellent feminist writers, I appreciate Kendall’s explanation here.
Feminist literary critics have also looked at how romance can talk about the complexities of feminist issues within their story framework. Avidly Reads Guilty Pleasures by Arielle Zibrak understands the ways romance novels are a source of feminine media culture some associate with shame and censure, reflecting that the Western world often diminishes feminine interests and pursuits. All that is to say, romances have been praised for centering feminist interests and issues like love, job security, equal partnership, and reproductive rights."

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓’𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐆𝐎-𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐎 & 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍?
Due to limited resources on the Isle it was customary to use 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioners, most were homemade concoctions but for those that didn’t make their own products, they were purchased from hair salons and barbershops such as the Curl Up & Dye. Harry purchased his from the crew surgeon who made their 2-in-1 from available ingredients such as fermented orange, lime, or lemon skins, fat extracted from a mutated species of hickory nut that grew in the wetlands, and oil extracted from a kind of tree sap. Together it created a shampoo and conditioning bar. Despite the barrier’s removal, Harry still purchases the same bar from the crew surgeon.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐒 𝐃𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐔𝐒𝐄?
Before the barrier’s removal, Harry used an organic leave-in conditioner made from the same ingredients as his shampoo and conditioner bar to protect his hair from getting fried by salt water and other harmful rain pollution in the air. After the barrier’s removal, he’s gotten his hands on coconut oil treatments and sun balm conditioners to protect his hair from sunlight and from being fried by salt water.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐔𝐒𝐄?
Harry doesn’t typically go out of his way to purchase fragrances and has no specific fragrance that would be considered his “trademark” scent. The only time he chooses to wear fragrances is for formal events and usually ranges from warm, spicy scents such as sandalwood and cinnamon, to fresher scents like sea salt and eucalyptus. Generally, however, he’ll just use whatever he gets his hands on at the time, the only time he’s ever purposeful when it comes to fragrances as if he’s framing someone else for something and knows that scent will carry some kind of implication in the matter.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐒 𝐃𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐔𝐒𝐄?
Prior to the barrier’s removal, Harry didn’t use any kind of skin care products which caused his skin to become weathered, and prone to a somewhat dry texture. With the barrier’s removal, he’s taken to regular use of sunscreen and unscented moisturizing lotion to affected areas of dryness like his nose and cheeks, hands, elbows, and knees.
𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐃𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒?
Harry doesn’t have any specific kind of skin condition so he generally just uses hydrating organic and unscented moisturizers from dry patches, and sunscreen to prevent sunburn. When he does get sunburn he’ll turn to moisturizing gels, his go-to being aloe vera. He doesn’t know a lot about skin or hair products and generally goes off of recommendations or purchases made by the crew’s surgeon.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓’𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐆𝐎-𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄?
Again, prior to the barrier’s removal, Harry relied on the crew’s surgeon to provide homemade toothpaste crafted from recycled ingredients from the Auradon barges, or from other available materials native to the Isle. Generally, he used whatever was on hand at least twice daily, when the barrier was removed and they gained access to more resources, he’s been ordering peppermint antibacterial toothpaste from a recommended supplier.
𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐃𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒?
He keeps his nails short at all times, he can’t stand having longer nails as they tend to catch on fabrics and ropes, so he clips them very regularly. He doesn’t really tend to his nails as much as he tends to his clippers which he cleans after every use. Sometimes his nails can be a little rough immediately after cutting them because he doesn’t file them but they tend to smooth over just due to how active he is throughout the day. He washes his hands pretty often and by extension keeps his nails clean.

I just watched the devils knot and I’m so infatuated and infuriated with the false convictions. They were in prison for 18 years because they dressed in black and listen to heavy metal music, and everyone ignored every other sign of the case, and made the three suspects fit the narrative or fit the target and it is the most infuriating thing ever
