I literally wrote this at midnight so it might be ass but i felt the need to write it.

You walk into the bureau, tightly clutching the large tote bag on your shoulder, a bead of nervous sweat rolling down the side of your forehead. You pull at the visitor pass clipped onto your sweater, acutely aware of how hideous it looked on everyone else. You pause in front of two large glass doors, a last call to turn back on this decision.

It seems that you don't have much of one when a security guard walks over to you, obviously thinking your behaviour was unusual with you stood there looking as clueless as a teenager in school. "Hi, sorry." You tell him, waving your visitor pass at him. He smiles kindly, gesturing for you to continue making your way wherever you planned on going. If only you knew. "Sorry, again," you start again, spinning on your heels to face him. "Could you point me in the direction of Emily Prentiss's desk please?" However instead of getting an answer out of him, a voice answers "I'm headed in that direction, I'll take you there ma'am."

You turn around to get a clear look at the hunk of muscle who offered to help you. He had dark shining skin and teeth so white you thought they would blind you. You wish you could say you didn't know who this man was but unfortunately for you, you had heard too many stories from Emily and undoubtably knew that you were speaking to SSA Morgan. You mutter a quiet 'thanks' and he pauses, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. "You're that girl in the picture on Prentiss's desk." You scoff in surprise, looking up at him "I am?" You both stop at what you can only assume is her desk and he picks up a framed picture of you sat on a chair laughing with Emily leaning over to wrap her arms around your shoulders from the back. Your birthday, last year.

"Well, you can probably throw that away." You tell him as you drop the tote bag on her desk, grateful for avoiding another encounter with your ex, no matter how awkward this conversation was. Derek leans over to take a glance at what is inside - clothes. "I - have a good day, I guess." You start making your way back through the room, painfully conscious of the amount of profilers in the room, when the one person you wanted to avoid comes through the doors.

She halts in her step and you gulp, eyes dropping to the floor as you try moving around her, but when she says your name, your eyes water and you freeze, unable to move. You shake your head, hoping she understands, but then she's stood directly in front of you, tilting her head as an urge for you to make eye contact with her as she had done every time you were upset in the past two years.

"Emily, I need to go." You speak, the slight shake in your voice betraying you. "I don't even get a goodbye?" She whispers. "Oh I gave you a goodbye. I gave you a goodbye when I ended things, but looking back I don't know if it was made too clear for you because apparently your goodbye with Lily wasn't obvious for you either since you just went back to her. Over and over."

"Wheels up in 30 Prentiss." Another voice interrupts, but instead of leaving, you swivel past her, make a beeline to her desk again and grab the framed picture of you both, throwing it in the bin on your way out.
