not quite what I usually do, but I had a headcanon and figured why not, I'm totally up for doing a part two if people are interested!

Bakugo, Izuku, Kirishima, Denki, Shoto

Notes: These are some headcanons that have come out recently, as I'm rewatching MHA with a friend

Fluff/HC/Drabble

Bakugo:

I honestly think despite the popular opinion, I honestly think he'd fall for someone who's more stoic. Someone who's firm in what they believe no matter what people say, and are not easily swayed in any direction. I personally see this as someone who doesn't come across as badass at first, but is unafraid to defend their beliefs or set boundaries. Bakugo might get frustrated, might think they're weak or a coward. I think deep down Bakugo needs that in his life. I think Bakugo would respect the heck out of them especially as a 2nd or 3rd year at UA, and they'd become an unstoppable power couple.

Izuku:

I sorta see Izuku with someone who's passionate, someone who always has something they're running towards, and dragging him out of his thoughts as they pull him along. He wants to be the number one hero to save people, and I believe he would really connect on a personal level with someone who's running towards their own dreams. I also believe that though Izuku loves the domestic life, he'd experience a much fuller greater life with a partner who's constantly working on improvement, and finding joy in the action. before his quirk, Izuku sought out action and took notes, so i believe someone who's always on the front lines would really help him grow. I believe that it might also compliment his personality if they were at a higher confidence, which would encourage him to strive for it as well!

Denki:

Despite his desire to be a ladies man, I honestly think Denki would fall for someone accidently. He constantly worried about coming across as the cool guy, and I think that love would strike the moment he least expected it and goofed up. I believe that Denki would fall for someone who's got a great deal of empathy and attention to detail. someone who would mock or shame him for his lack of academic intelligence, and in some twisted way, encourage him to improve himself in the process.

Kirishima:

Now, It might be controversial, but I honestly think that Kirishima would fall for a close friend. Being as outgoing as he is, and with his past of depression, I think he would really be able to connect with someone who didn't have the best upbringing. I believe that he really needs to be told that he's strong enough for them, just as they need to be told they are deserving of love. Kirishima, especially as a 3rd year, would probably have learned a great deal from fatgum, and grown as a person with Tamaki. I think that both of you would push towards healing together and it would honestly be a really wholesome relationship.

Shoto:

I honestly headcanon that Todoroki would fall hard for someone assertive. though he really wouldn't notice at first, he would evaluate their plans as they presented them and admire the confidence that came with it. as he learned to better embrace his quirk and his past, I think he would need someone who could mentally pull him into the present. Someone who could be a comfort but would always have a theory on what to accomplish next, I think Todoroki would appreciate some direction, and words said in blunt honesty. As he got older, I think both of them would soften up a but, but while at UA, they would be a power couple.

Notes: aw this idea is so cute and I absolutely love it! I feel like I've been writing for the same BNHA characters lately so I decided to write for Denki this time since its been a while.

Warnings: n/a just fluff

Characters involved: Kaminari Denki

Gender-neutral reader, you/yours

Studying to become a pro hero certainly wasn't as easy as everyone made it out to be.

Unlike other courses you had to worry about your mental and physical capabilities to succeed as a hero, while also somehow making the public like you in order to gain support.

At first it was easy to let your excitement of being able to pursue your dreams cloud your overshadow your thoughts, but with time you found yourself giving in to the stress and anxiety.

No matter what you did you just somehow weren't good enough, weren't strong enough. There was always another classmate or hero in training who had encountered overcome obstacles.

Izuku and the others wouldn't understand your struggles, to them, it wasn't a competition but a race you were all running at your own pace. Perhaps that was why you found yourself stationed outside Denki's dorm room in the middle of the night before you could think twice.

He was supposed to be awake. And he certainly wasn't supposed to pull open his room door seconds after your hesitant almost nonexistent knocks.

Yet there he was— Denki Kaminari in all his glory with a set of long black earphones dangling around his neck and a bright yellow Pikachu hoodie obscuring his golden hair.

"What's up, hun?"

You hadn't realised just how overstimulated you were until heard his voice.

The familiar sound of his playful little flirts was enough to have you step forward and collapse against him with your arms loosely wrapped around his waist before you could think twice.

Thankfully, Denki was insightful enough to hold you against him just as you were going to fall, his arms steadily wrapping around you even as he let out a surprised yelp.

"Hey- hey, are you okay? Were you hurt? What-"

His words made your frown deepen as you realised just how concerning the situation must have been, but Denki didn't let you pull away even as you tried to explain yourself.

He instead tugged you further into his room until you were seated on the edge of his bed right beside the switch he was no doubt playing with before you showed up.

"You're not hurt, right?"

You shook your head at his question, making Denki nod firmly before querying you further.

"And nothing bad happened either?"

Another shake of your head, but this time, Denki wasn't satisfied with your silence and turned you to face him.

"Then why are you crying?"

You hadn't even realised a series of fat tears had slipped down your cheeks until he spoke, but by then it was too late to stop yourself from outright sobbing.

But Denki didn't mind, if anything, he seemed more than happy to once again hold you in his embrace as his hand softly carded through your hair while you sniffled away.

"I- I'm just overwhelmed I guess."

He nodded against your head at the confession, but unlike everyone else, Denki didn't bother trying to give you life lessons or console you. He was just there for you, just like he had always been.

"That's okay, hun. Hey-"

He slowly tugged your face back to lock eyes as he continued.

"-I'm always going to be here for you, okay? No matter what."

Spending the night huddled up in Denki's room playing animal crossing and talking about the most random things certainly wasn't what you had in mind after a day of stressful realisations.

But being able to spend time doing stupid teenager things without worrying about the repercussions was exactly what you needed to realise maybe hero work wasn't so bad after all.

I feel like Kirishima would most likely find out by confrontation

He would call you a gender based off of your presentation

He doesn't mean to assume, he just gets really excited :(

After that you pull him to the side and tell him that you're non-binary and would prefer if he didn't call you by a specific gender.

When you tell him, he feels so bad.

Mans will probably be grovelling at your feet.

He'll apologize over and over, "Mis-gendering someone isn't manly :(" with tears in his eyes

After he stops beating himself up, he will defend you with his life.

If someone mis-genders you, he'll be nice about it

"Hey, they don't like being call a (whatever gender)"

Most people would fix themselves, but if someone doesn't, they will be met with the most passive-aggressive confrontation ever

If someone were to say "Well they look like (certain gender) so they are that"

He will go an entire rampage through the most gritted smile you've ever seen "Well it's not your place to say that, it's only your place to respect them, and if you can't do that then don't refer to them"

YOU TELL THEM KIRISHIMA!!!

Denki Kaminari

I feel like Denki would find out by seeing a flag in your room

You'd probably have invited him to your dorm because he needed help with school work

The library was out of question seeing as Kirishima and Bakugou were going to be there, and they had already “taken claim on it”

So you offered your room

And there just so happened to be a flag in there.

Denki takes notice of it and comments on it, asking about your pronouns, if there was a preferred name/nickname you went by, etc

He was trying to get out of studying

Definitely calls them “bro-nouns”

Once he finds out he treats you no different from before.

Will also defend your honor, but not as defensive as Kirishima

Simply because Kirishima is close to six-foot and made of rock.

He isn't any of that

If someone dead-names you or uses the wrong pronouns on purpose, he'll offer to electrocute them for you

Offers to go to pride with you.

Probably buys you a pin with the non-binary flag on it

Mina Ashido

So as of studying with Mina, I think y'all are taking a brain break when you finally tell her

You had been friends for a good 3 months now

I know that doesn't seem like too long, but you two spend all of your time together.

She's always in your room, coming to bother you.

It felt like the two of you had been friends for years

It's not like she ever mis-gendered you, she usually used gender-neutral things for people until said otherwise

You just felt like telling her, you two told each other everything so why not

"Hey Mimi, I just wanted to let you know that I'm non-binary"

She's ecstatic about it.

She felt so special that you shared this info with her

Practically bouncing in her chair, asking you how you found out, when this all happened, she's just so excited :)

If you feel uncomfortable talking about it, she'll probably pick up on your body language and back off, while giving you an apology

"Sorry, I didn't mean to pressure you, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I just got a bit excited, sorry"

Still, she has to fight the smile that's trying to push its way onto her face

If anyone tries to disrespect you in any way she will go off

She gives me ankle biter vibes

in the best way possible.

And last but not least, blasty

I feel like you never told him, and you're kind of confused on how he found out

Had you questioning for days

"Do I really not look cis??"

In reality, he saw your lock screen

Which wasn't directly the flag, but it was based off of the color scheme and if you knew your flags, you can tell.

He never commented on it, he doesn't care enough.

I also headcannon him to be Agender, but that's just my opinion-

So he also doesn't let anyone disrespect you

He feels like he would want you to stick up for him when it comes down to gender (Not like he needs you sticking up for him, only when people are doing it behind is back obvs)

He probably asked your closer friends before assuming

Maybe you just like black, purple, white, and yellow in a specific order-

Regardless, you'd never catch him slipping on your name

I feel like even if you did come out to him with a new name and shit he would spend time looking at a photo of you and saying your preferred name over and over

If he fucks up, he puts an explosion to his face because he is just so done

SPEAKING OF EXPLOSIONS-

This man will blow up anyone who dead-names/misgenders you

Accidentally or on purpose

They shouldn't assume

Trying to get on your good side and show you absolute obvious hints that he's head over heals for you while he looks over to you, talking with you every chance he gets, mindlessly finds a way to always involve you in anything about anything, throws his arm over your shoulder when you're close or when you're both walking together, joking around together while there's background music such as 'just friends' by jordy in like those fan made mini movies
