Happy Passover!
It’s the fourth day of Passover/Pesach/Pesakh/Pesah/etc, and while we may have missed the seder we’re still celebrating, (Or suffering...) so here’s a Passover related headcanon - every year the younger newsies get into arguments over who gets to say the Four Questions, since none of them keep track of their ages well and they’re used to lying about it. Eventually someone suggests they solve it with a die roll; this doesn’t work out very well, since none of their dice are even, and they all want to use their dice.

Went down the wikipedia rabbit hole of Arthurian legend and characters last night and have discovered that humans really always have been the same, everyone’s like “this is my new Arthurian oc who is Arthur’s nephew by his half sister who is magical” and we were all just like yeah sure that checks out

Imagine being a 16 year old and you go out to pull a prank on your neighbor and grab some lunch with your bff and next thing you know you’re in another country entirely being dragged along by enemy soldiers who are talking about cannibalism
That’s what happened to Merry and Pippin

It’s actually perfectly realistic that Damian thinks he’s there to stop Pride because the two gay people in his family are a military bootlicker and a white cis guy who tells his girlfriend to get back in the kitchen

Something to note about the film (I don’t think this scene was in the books? I think it was just talked about in appendices) is that it’s Pippin the rich boy who asks Aragorn about second breakfast. Sam is completely silent in the scene.
Which leads me to the question - do working class hobbits also eat second breakfast, or is it more like 9am snack?

I think we’re at the point in Dracula where we can no longer deny there are antisemitic undertones, yes? A pair of dark haired, hook nosed women eating a baby given to them by their monobrowed, hook nosed husband?
WITH THAT SAID, I know Stoker was intending this as erotic tension but goddamn this was a good chapter for horror tension, knowing what’s going on.

Seems to be a common problem where people raised in the state-default/state sponsored religion (yes, I’m including “cultural” Christians who have never been to church but participate in Christian holidays) don’t separate that religion from the idea of religion in general, let alone separating the state variant of that religion from the religion as a whole.
All religions have the capacity to suck, if given too much social power. And all religions also have the the capacity to be immensely healing and beneficial to the people who follow them.
.....of course, the thing to note here is that Christianity has been a state sponsored religion since the fourth century.

Like honestly,, I feel like a lot of the time I relate more to queer coded characters than explicitly queer characters, because a lot of the time when a character is queer coded the writers are taking the time to engrain it in the character. Queer coded characters are allowed to be gnc and have relationships that are maybe romantic and maybe platonic and make jokes at straight people’s expense and interact with other queer coded characters that aren’t necessarily their partners....
And then a lot of canon queer characters are like, look at this gender conforming cis person awkwardly kiss another gender conforming cis person.

We will not have good trans rep until we have a montage of one of those ~every day fails meant to show a character not having their life together/having a bad day/being relatable with a man getting stuck in his binder

Really delightful to be living through the 1930s and 1980s with a dash of 1920s all at the same time

idk how to break it to ya’ll but Jon Kent is an 18 year old middle class white cis guy who came out less than a year ago and is exactly the demographic who would, in universe, say an exaggeration like “Pride’s been a party for decades”
Damian Wayne is a 14 year old child from Gotham who’s speaking what is probably his third language and would also, in fact, be likely to hear “Pride is a riot” out of context and 100% think that means it’s a literal riot he needs to prepare superhero gear for
Devin Grayson has been an out bisexual since the 1990s - longer than an awful lot of ya’ll have been alive - and spent her entire career at DC writing flawed characters who are wrong and make mistakes in what fandom deems as unacceptable ways
