Alright let’s get this straight

Hollow knight: silksong has never been delayed before. This is the FIRST TIME silksong has been delayed.

Yes it has been in development for 4+ years, but not once has the game been delayed.

The only thing close to a delay was when they announced that the hornet dlc wasn’t coming, and instead was becoming a whole new game. You could consider that a delay, but even then it’s delaying the dlc and not the game itself, because the game was just announced.

I’ve seen a lot of people reporting on the delay saying “it’s been delayed time and time again” NO IT HASN’T

This isn’t a cyberpunk situation, this is the first ever delay for it, and I’m tired of people, even those in good faith that believe the delay is a good thing, saying that it’s constantly been delayed.

Team cherry has ALWAYS maintained that it’ll be released when it’s done, and haven’t given themself a release date until they believed they could meet it. They gave themselves not only a release date, but a YEAR LONG RELEASE WINDOW, and have realised that delaying the game past this window will increase the quality of the game.

Love the delay (you should) or hate the delay (it’s okay, take your time to get over it), don’t say that this is a pattern or something that’s happened before.

The closest thing to delays is the fandom going “silksong is totally gonna be at [insert event here]” at every single direct-like event. Team cherry have never done anything to warrant this outside of maybe announcing the game a bit too early (they definitely were a bit too transparent for the first few months).

Hey, thanks for asking!

I've been meaning to put something out about delays for a few weeks but I've been struggling to find the words and energy. Before I get into it I want to emphasize that these are only delays and I just need more time to complete season 2, which will still be coming as soon as I can get it done. Thank you so much to everyone who has been beautifully patient and remained excited about Season 2 even though I'm a couple of months behind what I predicted!

I won't go too deep into things, but I want to give at least some kind of explanation as to why I'm so behind on everything:

1. Serious illness in my family earlier this year threw off the schedule originally. I lost a good couple of months of productivity through Jan-March because between that and planning my wedding in April, the stress made me sick too. All is well now with both, but I've been struggling to get everything back on track since.

2. I've been promoted twice this year, which is great, but I'm busier and in a pretty intense senior role now that takes up most of my energy and brain power during the week. Last year when I wrote Season 1, I didn't have a full-time job, and I really didn't anticipate the difference.

3. Finally and foremost really, partly because of the points above, I'm struggling with some pretty serious burnout, and I've tried to push through it to finish writing but ultimately I know that's never effective.

Realistically I need to take some time to wind down from creating to recover, although the guilt of trying to get this second season made quickly enough is eating at me.

I'm really super sorry for the delays - it's nothing on the production end, everyone including me is still really enthused to get on with it, it's just that I've hit a huge wall creatively and mentally and the podcast is taking the brunt of it. I really want to get back on track as soon as possible, because I love this show and I want to see Season 2 come to life this year.

Any advice on what to do to get past the burnout and block is greatly appreciated.

Update: Delays

Issues.

I’m having financial and housing issues. Future chapters will be delayed. I will do my best to get them out during these hectic times.

I may have to use a library to get the stories out. If that works I’ll have a place to write and get these to you.

My apologies to those from my old site or Scribd who may have found Sylon: Realm of the Enchanted on my Substack and have found Chaos Lion on Amazon Vella. I was finishing a story I started years ago and you came back to finish it. You gave me a second chance or a third or fourth. I will finish it but it may be slower than 7-9 days on average. I hope you can remain patient with me. But I’ll understand if you aren’t.

As for the new readers, my apologies to you as well. I will do my best to keep Rebel Kinetic going regularly as well. On Patreon and my Substack. But I don’t believe I will post 7-9 days on average after this month. I don’t know how long I will be in these hectic times but I will do my best to write and post during them.

Patreon, Deviantart, YouTube, and Instagram are the other places to support and keep updated.

On the joy of my body deciding for itself how I should be moving

So. As a part of yesterday's glorious (and music edit ruining) migraine I got to experience something that I, at the time, mentaly assigned the term 'muscular tourettes'. (Post migraine I had the brain power to realise that tourettes obviously has physical ticks, but migraine brain is dumb). What happened is: while I was trying to sleep my muscles kept moving whenever my sleepy brain thought of moving them, despite me having no intention of moving them. Not a twitch or a spasm, both of which I know pretty well. Also not because of sleep, this was happening alsmost as soon as I laid down. Wasn't exhaused either.

As ever, nothing to be done about it. Just another thing to calmly observe and a further barrier to you hearing our upocoming song before the week is out.

P.S. I would genuinely love the tourettes comunity to clarify how my experience differs or does not from actual tourettes ticks involving the body.

If you haven't seen it already, AnimationEpic posted on YouTube and Twitter about delaying III 16, and their explanation is reasonable.

For context, the war in Palestine and the Gaza "cease fire" topics describe this more. I saw the headings of the articles, and they're actually very saddening.

Fic Delays

I intended to get the Christmas fics posted before Christmas, however, I'm having surgery in couple of days, and well, I'll be a bit out of it for a while afterwards. When the meds wear off, though, I'll have plenty of time to write and post. Maybe even in time for the holiday.
