as you down the last sip of your drink, you watch as alex converses with a petite blonde girl in the corner of the room. you shouldn’t be jealous, especially since you’re the one who told alex it could never be anything more than what it is, but you are.

“we better get you another drink before your eyes burn a hole right through my best friend,” cole says, randomly appearing next to you.

“oh definitely,” you say sarcastically, pausing to let out a chuckle. “if you knew anything about me and alex, i don’t think we’d be having this conversation right now. how about you just go back to your boy toy, and i’ll go back to minding my own business, okay?” you ask, making her scoff. she walks back towards alex, and you immediately beeline it for the door.

as you sit on the front porch of the frat house, you hear the door open a few moments after you closed it. you don’t look up from your lap, but when a male figure sits down on the step next to you, you look to your left and see alex.“what was all that, huh?” alex teases, making you scoff, “i’m not in the mood, alex. go back to your puck bunny.”

“hold on, are you jealous?” he asks, immediately making your cheeks flush pink.

“you know what, yeah alex i am! i literally got in a fight because of you!” you exclaim, placing your head in your hands.

“i thought we were strictly hooking up? am i wrong?” he asks. you let out a deep sigh, and stare up at the few stars in the late night, wisconsin sky.

“alex i’ve always wanted more, but i’m scared. you’re going to the nhl soon, and you have a slight reputation. i just don’t want to get hurt,” you admit to him.

that moment where jay talked to chip about how she thinks its all her fault and she should've just gave up her arm and leg. and how chip reassures her....... them 🥺🤲 kind of inspired by that post abt chip and jay i reblogged earlier, but these two talking about their emotions and feelings is so dear to me. just, being human with each other and opening up. gill is great ofc, but i feel like for these two its much easier to talk to each other to feel understood and heard. i love them.....

every time i think of system jason i think about. well first i think about how jason todd is a separate alter but jason todd is also the person because thats the name they own but the main host for like 20 years goes by jason and thats his name and. anyways. next i think about the ways he dissociates. but THEN i think about the littles/teens/even some adults that will only respond to robin or their name, and if they dont have a name, just robin, and maybe jason

sometimes its just a game of firing off names. some of them only respond to red hood, some of them respond to jason todd in full specifically, some of them respond to peter. theyre bad at names and in the early days its hard to figure out whos who (both in the system and out), too, so sometimes theyll just stare at whoevers talking to them with squinted eyes until they say a name they recognize as their own. some of them only respond to Specific Nicknames, some of them love people besides dick and bruce and alfred (and sometimes damian and tim and steph, but not duke, or...you get the picture) because they all love their family, even if they dont know them, but they dont Know Them. and some of them only respond to jaylad or jaybird or little bird, some of the older ones only respond to damian. its definitely a trial and error kind of thing. usually they can interact with everyone just fine, but some days they find jason in the kitchen and when tim tries to talk to him he looks away and creeps into a corner of the kitchen and they have to find dick and then bruce (bad choice) and then damian. its the trauma conversation but its also the memory conversation and the 'who are you to yourself and who do people know you as' conversation. i have a lot of thoughts abt jason w osdd/did (preferably did that sounds more like him) it does things to my brain. this post was supposed to be abt alters that respond to robin and then i just. kept talking. oops

dump all your ideas abt ur summer camp au i want to hear it

ahhhhhh first of all anon ily <333

here’s my ideas for the summer camp au so far :)

- it’s called quesadilla summer camp (im so creative lmao)

- the camp was created on an experiment. if it went well, they would implement the plans on a larger scale. (what’s the experiment? it’s assumed it has something to do with crossing the language barriers but no one actually specifies)

- all participants get college scholarships

- but the whole thing is really badly executed? like it just does not have the set up or functionality of a normal summer camp

- there’s just very little supervision or guidance

- the camp is run by some version of the duck, and they’re very uninvolved which leads cucurucho and zero to just Not Care.

- counselors are rubius, cucurucho, and the code entity

- the code entity goes by zero

- zero really doesn’t talk but they all learn pretty easy it’s how fucking awful of an idea it is to piss them off

- cucurucho and zero are they/it besties

- rubius is the same age/around the same age as the campers, cucurucho and zero are older

- sometimes one the campers walks into their cabin and sees an entirely new person in their cabin, which is normal. they switch cabins constantly

- the first week people just keep. randomly wandering off. “where’s wilbur?” two hours later wilbur walks out of the woods with a rock. (not even like a cool rock. it’s just a normal fucking rock)

- phil’s the mom friend. but he’s still a disaster. he’s just the only one with any shred of responsibility. he’s also just got an aura of trustworthiness that makes everyone trust him with their problems

- fit is just. so chill

- he also just? always has what you need? “yeah sorry it’s a bit hot in here, a screw that seemed important fell out of the fan earlier so we haven’t turned it on yet” “oh! i think it’s in here- nope screwdriver’s in the left pocket, where did you say the screw was?”

- dan just kinda disappears for a bit? cucurucho tells the campers he went on vacation but they don’t entirely believe them. dan comes back a little different.

- spreen is always either starting chaos or nowhere to be found

- quackity manages to keep putting himself in the middle of like every problem whether he’s involved or not

- however charlie pretty much is always involved

- luzu is had DID and arin is an alter

- luzu does know about arin but he was just diagnosed and is still figuring it all out

- roier flirts with everyone (except jaiden, he respects her boundaries)

- foolish and vegetta are dating. no one knows how they got together or when they got together. if you ask either of them, you’ll get two completely different answers

- the brazilians join two-ish weeks in

- they all arrive together in a bus together and have already formed a Friendship on the journey there

- the bus was almost set ablaze 4-6 separate times (depends on your definition on separate)

- there is an extremely done cucurucho driving the bus

- forever sees phil and immediately turns to tell felps how that is the man of his dreams

- mike and pac are inseparable. they’re just kind of always within the vicinity of each other.

- cellbit, bad, foolish, and maximus attempt to take over the camp together. it doesn’t go as planned.

Ok so I was thinking abt ctubbo and characterization and how a lot of the fandom doesn't rlly have a solid grip on him (no shade its not on here mainly) whether it's bcs of lack of interest or exaggeration and like fandom lense or whatever (he tends to kinda get fucked ovr in ensemble fics) and then I thought well we talk abt scary nuke violence tubbo vs uwu beeboy or whatever but I was thinking there's definitely more to it then that bcs sometimes when I'm writing even I'm super insecure abt my portrayl of ctubbo so ig this post is kind of like a breakdown using some of my fav ctubbo things for me that could b useful 4 others as well

(This might b a little unorganized and like unprofessional-!!i will misspell and abbreviate a lot srry!!-but it's tumblr so who cares just don't expect too much cohesiveness I am writing this to get my thoughts out mostly

[DISCLAIMER!! most of this is my personal interpretation of ctubbo seeing as that's what ctubbo is mostly, what u interpret him as, but also its a bunch of notes and common traits that I got from awesome ctubbo fans and I'm mainly making it 2 help me :) < I'm not linking canon examples and evidence bcs I'm lazy and fuck that alsooo I'll mainly b focusing on ctubbo individually and not his relationships and such

ctubbos humor

I'm gnna start w ctubbos humor and irony and that kinda stuff. So like w ctubbo and characterization a lot of times ppl will take traits or speaking habits from the streamer and apply them to the character which is common in the general mcyt fandom but w ctubbo it's esp common bcs of cctubbos whole "ctubbo is just me but if I was put into certain situations" which we've kinda moved past seeing as that thought process worked better in the earlier seasons before ctubbo was morw cctubbo and less a result of his circumstances, his experiences, and ctubblings drawing lines between things << this isn't my main focus rn tho there is a huge distinction between cc and ctubbo

To get to the point ctubbo is a pretty serious dude but also he's not, there's a fun middle ground that I like where ctubbos humor has definitely become darker as he's aged bcs of his circumstances. One of the best examples I can thing of is this line from elegy in eleven bars by ssootsprite

^^this definitely portrays ctubbos humor well imo, the dark irony and humor that often stems from taht fact that ctubbo will sometimes jsut do what he finds funny but usually those take form on a smaller scale if we want an actual cohesive character

Ive made a handful of posts abt this but one bit abt ctubbo that is often missed is the fact that he's been dehumanized throughout his story which led to him internalizing it not seeing himself as a person entirely, more like a tool for others or a means to an end. I love love dsmp au fics but something some of them miss out on is ctubbos urge to serve others which stems into two branches that I call safety and self

When in a dangerous situation or around someone that he's deemed dangerous ctubbo will instinctively shift to politeness and servitude occasionally its his follower instinct<<this is bcs of manburg specifically cschlatt though it was really instilled to him by cdream after the whitehouse fight (where he called him a follower) and the disc saga finale (called him a sidekick). This happens sometimes in canon but enough times for it to be a full blown like, thing my fav explanation of this is augustus evergreen by thatweirdguyinthebushes on ao3

The second facet "self" is more deep, it's ctubbos actual beliefs, that he's not worth anything if he's not doing something or his tendency to work as a means of avoiding emotion. He doesn't see himself as a person or a child, often forcing himself into the roll of an adult to meet a goal of serving others (his nlm presidency) < this also comes from Manburg but can also be tied to my fav quote "a good kid and a better spy" (not gnna go too into ctubbos spy mentality bcs that's a whole other essay LOL) after being repeatedly handed jobs that are not meant for kids, responsibities much larger than him, he internalized all of it and tied it to his self worth and how he sees himself

by @/yellogazello which gets the point across by whacking u ovr the head w emotion and some ctubbo aesthetics that rlly do well 4 his character -> also I made 2 web weaves on all ^^^this if ur interested also I've got a bunch of analysis on it in #smpanalysis bcs it's my fave ctubbo is kind of naturally a follower but this isn't always a complete negative (see: the way he comfortably follows Tommy or the way he and Tommy willingly followed Wilbur- it isn't always an 100% bad thing but over the course of his life it's kind of been tainted

Tubbo "logic braining" something =/= him thinking logically it's him and his fucked up process that filters things through his weird logic that would make any stable person worried, his brain does flips to rationalize his own and others thought processes to make them make sense to him, it's the same kind of thinking that is responsible for his "safe people" its the same kind of thinking that makes him blame himself for things that were clearly out of his control. While ctubbo is often seen as a more "brain lead" character, most, hell, all of his core motivations are emotional >> the need to protect his loved ones, his people, the innocent, to live upto expectations, and so on. This ties into his protective sort of paranoid nature that he displays toward his loved ones that is sometimes misconstrued as controlling

A lot of ^^^^^ this can be tied to ctubbos relationship w attachments and belongings which is one of the dsmps overall themes, ctubbos logic being that attachment is irrational and only leads to being hurt but forming attachments and getting hurt against his better judgment

One thing that is often lost in surface level depictions of ctubbo is the nuke plot. This is often used to characterize ctubbo as violent or immoral (which I won't deny he can be at times) but one key detail about ctubbos nukes is that they were always a last resort, no matter what he threatened or said he never ever wanted to use them, constantly emphasizing how crazy it was that he had access to so much power and how terrified he was of misusing it in the missing nuke stream w jack. ctubbo has always always been a peaceseeking character. Like w most things abt ctubbo there's a nice middle ground, though tubbo leans less towards chaotic and more towards solemn, esp when at an emotional low

The nukes hold a lot of symbolism for ctubbo and are often presented as an antithesis to the bee symbolism used for him > the nukes being him becoming more violent and straying from what is deemed moral as a defense mechanism, becoming worse than your enemies (stay soft by mitski etc) and the bees representing his innocence and the loss of it (a common theme w ctubbo and on the dsmp in general) tying to the more nature-y imagery that become professional/political in late s1 & 2 which then became technologybased and cold in s3 & 4

ctubbos emotional intelligence

Another thing that a lot of people miss about ctubbo is that he has very veryy little emotional intelligence. Post-Michael kidnapping and arguably pre-Michael kidnapping there was this (mildly popular) notion that ctubbo was together emotionally to the point where there were a lot of misunderstandings surrounding his actions but the thing is he isn't. When it comes to himself ctubbo is aware that he is effected by his trauma (he will often make references to it) but he never does anything about it, he views it as irritational and tends to compartmentalize and repress his emotions which often leads to him hurting himself and others. ctubbos responses to emotion range from pure apathy to overwhelming him to the point of tears (which we've seen once w the anniversary stream) He's also not very good with recognizing the emotions of others, while he is good at reading people and their intentions (mainly people he has close relationships with) he is generally extremely blunt sometimes to the point of hurting other people's feelings on accident which he usually apologizes for immediately afterwards. In fact, ctubbos bluntness and politeness are a fun contrast to experiment with if you're interested

ctubbo survival and tragedy

ctubbo has survived a lot especially in comparison to other characters he is close to << that was badly worded, what I mean is a lot of the people in ctubbos life have died/were dead/are dead and he just isn't. Tragedy is a large part of ctubbo, if something is going right for him it will inevitably go wrong, things like stability don't exist for him, he doesn't trust it and why should he? His paranoia has consistently been proven to be justified over and over again. Dramatic irony is such a huge part of him, he's experienced so much and has survived through so much but its like he can't die and he has to live everytime.

I think it's the first wip i followed from start to finish and I have to say that part of 2022 was not the greatest but yk, every few days there'd be a new chapter. and it was great.

I fucking love Dorcas talking about "a butterfly in the palm of your hand" it's changed the way I think so much. like you would not expect this from a fanfic lmao but it's pretty much exactly what I needed to hear at the time. living just to live, even if it's complete shit, not caring about what they're leaving behind. ch 42 (i think) where all they're doing is just washing the dishes but it's so special and they're listening to dawn storm is so important to me I love it SO much. fucking amazing.

ngl I don't really think there's anything I don't like. every character feels so right - regulus in particular sticks out to me, like there's such a good balance between him doing pretty bad things because he's not a particularly "good person" but also not being a complete dick. also I would die for marlene mckinnon and the way you write her is just so fucking good. the way she is just so alive to make up for her shorter life is so beautiful to me. I could ramble on for a very long time about everything in this fic but I dont want this to get too long lol

the music you put on the chapters is also really good like I'm pretty sure the first time I read it I didn't listen the music and then I reread it with the music and it was like a whole different experience

ahh thank u this is so sweet! i love hearing that thtf resonated w people it definitely feels like the fic kinda took on its own life & became a little philosophical journey that i was not entirely expecting lol. i think writing a story where i knew my main characters were going 2 die the whole time really made me contemplate like. ok what do i actually want 2 say abt death, and by way of that what do i wanna say abt life? bc like. as someone who doesn't believe in an afterlife i didn't wanna write a story that says "well it's ok bc they can be happy in the afterlife" <3 bc like. that does not comfort me lol. & i also didn't wanna write a story that was like "it's ok bc there's gonna be a good future 4 others after them," bc i think life means something and matters even outside of futurity. i didn't wanna play into this narrative that u have 2 Do Something 2 make ur life meaningful by making sure u have an impact on the future, etc; i wanted 2 write abt life as meaningful outside of that. & i also specifically wanted 2 write abt life as something beautiful & meaningful even with the bad stuff mixed in, and even if death is abrupt and scary and painful and unwanted. like i purposely made both their deaths pretty brutal bc i personally find the idea of a "bad death" really scary! the idea of dying before ur ready, dying scared or alone or in pain or all three, etc...and i think part of why that's so scary is bc we place this big emphasis, again, on a linear timeline of life, where death is The End, and if The End is bad, then the story's a sad one. but death is just one moment in the sum total of billions of moments throughout your life; why should that bad cancel out all the good? why should a story be sad, just because the last page of it is sad? you can open the book to any page and find happiness, and love, and warmth, etc. & that's what i'm trying 2 say w "a story is not its end."

rwby rambling under the cut AHDASDSAK

altering that statement cos i did skim through it again, and it really isnt as bad as i remember but it still has information that is just wrong, like the plot of convenience point he makes, about fights loosely connecting to one another, when that isn't really the case? and he makes a point about how when there isnt a fight going on, the show is doing nothing valuable with the extra time. when that isnt true, if you rewatch v1-3 the plot is mostly being driven forward? or foreshadowed/set-up

a good example is season 2 being largely written off as full of nothing, when mountain glenn or whatever spends a large chunk going into the motivations of each of team rwby, what drives them to be there in the first place, particularly highlighting ruby's simple desire of wanting to help others, which is expanded upon later. and also shown how yang sees ruby's motivations compared to her own. it's a good character building segment for team rwby. also this season introduces penny and kind of establishes the kinda person ironwood is as well

season 1 also has ozpin's advice to ruby, his projection onto her, but also why he chose her as the leader of team rwby, because he sees a bit of his old self in her(or in ozma's case). ANYWAYS. thats important too. there ARE things that are important inbetween fight scenes, and there /always/ has been. you just need to rewatch the show.

and obviously there are things that werent planned from the start, but ozpin being uhh..the Way he is, salem, all of that stuff- that was there from the start, so this scene hits different upon rewatch

the only ones i can see that for is season 1 because there is a lot of clumsy execution in that season, which makes sense but doesnt make it any less egregious. cos i agree on the part where pyrrha is explaining things to jaune that are already established (what a semblance is, and characters being surprised by her semblance (which they should already know.. ))

the bad exposition for the earlier volumes i agree with, its a really rough start and can be kinda cringy to rewatch at times

but if youre going to talk abt rwby you kind of need to talk about Everything. where its at right now, and how it improved. which he doesnt, he touches on season 6 a bit to ramble about the adam vs yang and blake fight-- talks about how annoying it is that characters pause to speak as if the fight isnt a more character driven one than a flashy one, dramatic pauses to talk/explain in the middle of fights are also not that uncommon in the anime he talks about- he talks about jojo in here, which pauses fights to dump about how powers work a LOT

as much as i'd like to go through the video and talk abt how i feel abt every point, it's actually not as scathing as i remember. still wrong about things tho, and only talks about 1-3 mostly without touching on anything else. the anime homework segment is what i remembered the most i think...

and the complaints about the inconsistent worldbuilding i can definitely understand, it is frustrating that things aren't clear cut explained to you in the show, like the differences between magic and semblances. but i think the point is that semblances can Be magic, sometimes, but not the other way around. s'least how i see it. that stuff doesnt bother me as much though so its fine if it botehrs someone else

i geuss the thing that frustrates me the most is this insistence that rwby isn't character driven, or at least the characterization is poorly handled, because it really isn't. at least for the main four, and some others- and again they improve on this later. i would not be as into rwby as i am if the character writing was like. horrid

for season 1 i can get that but even as early as s2 they start to dig a little deeper, and now at season 9 so many of our main cast have been dug into a little, in ways i find really satisfying. and like, the finale of season 5 is still one of my favorites, behind season 7 ofc (oscar pine bias) but yang's conversation with her mother, nothing ending in a fight between them just the power of her words- it's a relationship that has some complexity to it. the point im making is that there are so much more amazing scenes that just are not shown at all or glossed over completely, the writing can be really good at times its why im still here!! IDK!!!!!! i guess im Crazy

so i finished imas 2011, shiny festa, and the movie a while ago and something bugged me when i was watching it (and when rewatching) that i wanna talk abt cause idk if im just being nit picky.

i feel like imas 2011 treats some of its characters so poorly sometimes. the worst victim of this is miki, i think. earlier on in the show, i REALLY liked her. and i still do, but i feel like after a certain point she sort of lost all her personality. she already had a lot of her screentime dedicated to fanservice, and by that i dont mean the sexual boobies in your face kind (which actually does happen in the first ep iirc lmfao) but like. her winking and being cute for the camera, or doing something cutesy with the producer (who i believe is meant to be a self insert, based not only on character but also the role of the producer in. well. everything else related to imas)

but when she started her weird obsession with the producer is when it really started getting to me. the "honey!!" thing was okay at first i guess like its not the end of the world, but it got irritating very quickly. it also felt uncomfortable, considering shes 15 and the producer is way older than her. yeah i get that teens get crushes on adults all the time but it didnt seem like it was portrayed in that way. to ME at least it just seemed like boring fanservice that they refused to give up on, probably because they knew a lot of fans liked imagining themselves in producers position. i still like her but the constant fucking "HONEY!!1!1 DONT LOOK AT OTHER GIRLS HONEY!!!" makes it really hard to even though i know it aint her fault.

Azusa is another victim of something similar. i watched that whole anime waiting to find something of interest in her, and while there definitely was, it was buried under a heap of gag moments. the whole "im just a woman with big boobies and i got loostt agaaiinn ouuuhh nouu me so dumdums :(" thing just got so tiring so quickly. ive learned to appreciate her more by now but idk is just annoying how she feels like she only exists to be hot and stupid

these are all just my thoughts! i still really enjoyed what i saw of imas, i just wish it weren't so. That sometimes. but then again from what i know i think the series has always been like this. im posting this just cause i want to see what other Ps think about it, whether they agree or disagree, etc. also lmk if im just flat out wrong anywhere!! ty for reading :)

"Yes" I say, looking out the car's window, my gaze lost somewhere.

"That song you despise so much played earlier on the radio and you didn't change the station like you always do."

"I didn't notice."

"You didn't notice because there is something on your mind. You know you can tell me anything, right?" Mason says, moving his hand to my knee and giving it a little squeeze.

"I know. It's just... It's what your uncle said" I say with a big sigh.

"My uncle?"

"Yeah, the hobbit thing when you introduced me to him."

"Oh, that" he says, clenching his jaw, definitely pissed. "He shouldn't have said that. Especially not with that tone."

"I don't think he said it to be mean or anything..."

"But he still hurt you."

"Yes" I whisper.

We stay is silence for a couple of minutes, Mason still tense next to me until he speaks again.

"But you know, being a hobbit isn't something bad."

"Uh?"

"Who are the main characters on “The Lord of The Rings”?"

"The hobbits?" I say, confused about why is he talking about that movie now.

"Who is the one who carries the ring to Mordor?"

"A hobbit."

"And who is the one who destroys it?"

"Gollum."

"Yes, but what was Gollum before he became Gollum? A hobbit. A hobbit who found the ring and somehow kept it safe, not allowing Sauron to rise earlier. Same with Bilbo. It was the hobbits who saved the Middle Earth. They are the heroes."

"I didn't know you were such a nerd, Mason" I laugh.

"There are many things you still don't know about me, love" he says with a smirk, grabbing my hand and kissing my knuckles now that we have stopped at a red light. "So next time someone throws the word hobbit at you as an insult, you remind yourself that hobbits are the heroes and the one who save everyone's asses. Not the elves, the wizards or the men. The hobbits."

"Ok" I say, properly laughing this time. "Thank you, Mason."

"For what?" he says, focused on the road again.

"For making me feel better. I love you."

"I love you too, my precious."

"Oh, please. Don't make that a thing."

"What, my precious?" he says, using Gollum's voice.

"That!" I say, laughing.

"I don't know what you mean, my precious."

And that's how we continue for the rest of our trip home, Mason calling me my precious with his Gollum voice, while I can't stop laughing, all my worries after that meeting with his family disappearing.

hi, same anon who asked abt why you ship beckory earlier. i appreciate the reply and explanation, that makes a lot of sense tbh! I can definitely see the idea behind that with the posts I see about that ship, and I agree it would be an interesting dynamic for sure. thanks for taking the time to talk more abt it. naturally i don't expect a response since this is just me rambling in response to your response but uh.. hope you get the point lol sorry. it makes a lot more sense to me in that context, like a lot of things with fnaf that aren't really explored in-canon but are cool ideas. Like, GGY/Glitchtrapped Gregory isn't technicallyy confirmed canon in the games, but it's such a cool idea I've gotten really invested in it based on the stuff fans can come up with and how that dynamic could be explored. makes me hope we get more gregory content in future games. it looks like there's a DLC for HW2 but honestly I'm dying waiting for them to announce their next game bc it's most likely gonna involve the 3 star trio again. maybe i'm too hopeful but i'm honestly convinced whatever the next games hold they're gonna use the human characters a lot more, with Cassie getting a remodel it seems only natural Gregory and (maybe) Vanessa could get one too. With all the cutscenes in SB being first-person (well, most.) and the ones that aren't kind of hiding Gregory's model a bit, it makes me feel like the model just wasn't ready/intended to be viewed up close in third person, hence the remodel. I mean they did the same with Cassie and she got a remodel, I feel like the same logic would apply, right? anyway my rambling aside thanks for the reply lol. hope my rambles are more entertaining than annoying.

don't quote me on this bc i have no insider information obviously but i'm pretty sure this has to do with the whole new work-life balance initiative mclaren started focusing on last year and has been even more set on improving this year? because i have definitely noticed a few different occasions since the end-ish of last year where it seemed like one was present for meetings/debriefs and the other wasn't. it's been the case with oscar being present but not lando a few times too. and i say all the more for it if it gives the drivers more time to just refresh themselves for the next race by spending time with loved ones or whatever. (not to mention that lando's dad has been like really good about being at nearly every race weekend since the beginning of last year whereas oscar has discussed hardly ever seeing his family while racing, he can go to the mtc anytime he wants let him have some family time!!!) like they may not publicize it, but i am 100% sure they'll (they likely already did in australia) go over the data with oscar and debrief and discuss where he can continue developing and whatnot. like lmao they've been saying since sainz left that they want 2 relatively equal drivers again, trust me nobody is interested in favoring lando at oscar's expense when he has the pace to either be ahead of or keep up with him

literally what i was talking abt w the worklife balance initiative earlier yes!!! i didnt even spot it but ur right thats deffo gotta be it. this year the first time it happened we found out the next day that oscar was in imola doing a tyre test (it benefits him way more than lando to drive the old mclaren chassis) and this second time its pretty clear they did it to let oscar be with his family. and then on the other hand, oscar lives in the uk and lando doesnt so sometimes when oscars the one at the mtc thats probably why. its also worth pointing out (u mention that u feel sure the engineers do go over the data w oscar even if it doesnt end up on insta / the mclaren app) that this is a FACTORY debrief not a team debrief. both drivers participate in the mandatory post race debriefs (headphones on looking at telemetry vibes), but this is more of a holding-a-mic inspirational public speaking kind of thing, where some of the factory employees get to have a little bit of face to face time w the guy theyre building the car for & get their well-deserved thanks handed to them. oscar is a fascinating man who seems to have absolutely zero anxiety driving a car at 300kph but looks like a scared baby deer who barely knows how to walk when hes surrounded by any sort of crowd. my point is he is NOT missing out id b willing to bet at least a tenner that he actively does not want to be there

One thing that kind have irked me a little bit is John's views in the game. No, not the fundamentals I disagree with, as that is obvious. But the inconsistencies with what they built up for him. They're minor details, it doesn't really change much, but excuse this ramble I am going into. It's going to be talking about the VW, and some of the tactics used in it, so I want to give a full warning for this.

Also I want to preface this as this is not to defend John. I have been more than adamant on the fact that John is a scary, shitty, C*A Officer regardless of anything else.

As you may know, John makes a passing comment to Lincoln about how LBJ is handling the war. He says "President Johnson is a goddamn pussy. He started that war, he should finish it." which clearly shows John, a. Puts blame on LBJ for pushing the war, obviously being lighter towards Jack's actions earlier on. Whether he is a believer that Jack wouldn't have escalated the war, or he wouldn't have had it get this bad/would have handled it better, that is up for debate. And b. He wants it to end. Which is an obvious, I think assuming him and Lincoln want this war to be over makes sense. But, especially with the idea he was a C*A Officer; because at this time, the C*A and M*litary were not hand in hand allies, as I believe that happened either with N*xon or the 80s, I cannot remember fully right now. They often opposed views. And with this, the C*A believing they "ACTUALLY want to the end the war"; whereas the m*litary wants "glory." Now, I would like to point out, just because John wants the war to end doesn't make him anti-war. As we hear how he feels abt anti-war protesters. Clearly he still believes they should do their """civic duty""" or whatever. Regardless of if you're happy with it or not, or be quiet and go along with it, I guess.

But this really is where my biggest gripe comes in. John says the way to end the war is "filling up the sky with B-52s" AKA, keep bombing V*etnam. This has been the tactic that has been FAILING. LBJ has been critiqued even in his own Party that he needs to stop the bombing & to start negotiations. But the thing with LBJ, he is too stubborn likes to do things his way. And, do you know who opposed continuous bombing? The C*A. While I know clearly not EVERYONE did, but then tell me why....when they established John is unhappy with how things are going, especially with what LBJ is doing.....WHY he would be pro the tactics that ISN'T working? UGH! It just makes no sense to me. And to go on and continue to mock him when he haults the bombings? Like hello?

And no, I do not believe he would want N*xon or whatever because I still do believe he is a democrat. I think his staunch support for Jack should definitely still be noted. He wouldn't go SO hard for a politician he believed in...if he didn't believe in him you know? Remember John is a man of this time, he's an actively present adult. He isn't looking at it 60 yrs later, he's looking at it in the moment. I think it's more than fair to say his frustration of LBJ doesn't show he is suddenly against him or whatever. Because they're just that; frustrations. Especially in the conference, we see how the war fucked with John and how he feels about everything as a whole. But it is true, the handling of the war overshadowed literally EVERYTHING LBJ did. And I'm not saying that is a bad thing, when your screw up (putting that lightly) is a literal mass killing of an entire group of people, that is GONNA be the focus of what you did. Oh, but with the line where John says if Jack was still around N*xon wouldn't be president. I believe that is a rather loaded answer, not as simple as Jack would be elected, because he couldn't have been, it would already be 2nd term. The plan always would have been Bobby would try after Jack, then Teddy. But I think he still holds a lot of his hopes in what the nation could have been with him, and truly feels Am*rica "lost its way" or whatever. But yeah, I think it's clear he still is aligned this way regardless of the many wrong things John does or say.

Like I mentioned, this is by no means me defending him or the C*A, as they were doing terrible shit. As we know the Ph*onix Pr*gram (which to remind you, M3 has John AND Lincoln involved in that for some reason...) exists, and many other things are public about their doings there. I just think this shows how the game lacks to really show anyone's core views or thoughts. Instead of using John as a way to show the many different views, they should have stuck to one and have him do that. Instead, they went with this, something that literally makes NO sense.

You know, I rlly thought that moving out of my hometown for college was going to make my life less weird overall, not, like, objectively more bizarre. But, like, out of the frying pan and into the fire, yknow??? Like, modified memories and disappearing students??? Why me??? Why us, I guess. It involves this whole party of weirdos after all. Not only are Zanther and Coach's memories fucked, but we checked the yearbook in the library from last year and Don Graves and Suma Trun BOTH were missing!! But not like they never existed, no, Sersh said the book had been tampered with using illusion or, like, transmutation magic? Whatever that means. Ugh. Even more weirdly, Roderick C was in the book and still on campus even though he was one of the three students that we met outside the manor. He didn't seem to remember being at the manor, but 🤷‍♀️

Everyone thinks the cheer squad might be behind this mysterious bs, but at least we don't make our members perform blood magic and sign, like, soul-binding pacts in some weird dark ritual like the business club apparently does 🙄 And that's not even on our radar of stuff to look into, to like give an idea of how weird shit is right now.

I'm way more concerned abt Zanther tbh. Sersh also scanned him for magic and he's been enchanted. She kept talking about a possible modify memory spell. Which would explain a lot, but I'm still sooooo confused by all of this 😵‍💫 We want to try and find the deck of many things again if we can, since its whereabouts might, like, give us some kinda clue. idfk.

At least the dinner with Zanther & everyone went ok. I wish Mire remembered him, they were so cute when they were flustered (lol), but maybe it's for the best bc he's being kind of a downer rn. We keep trying to tell him it's not his fault (minus Thad, ofc, but he's an asshole anyways) but ig it makes sense if he rlly thinks Mire disappeared bc of something he did. Still, what a mood-killer after I tried so hard to get everyone together for a nice dinner with no ulterior motives whatsoever!! He was nice enough to pay tho <3

Oh, ohhh, and I hard-launched Javanesh to the group, which turned out to be a fucking mistake. Not bc of anything he did, ofc- he was rlly sweet and even asked me out on another date to go to the Seelie Market!! but my party decided to invite themselves along to the outing too. Thad was just being a little bitch abt me spilling his drink on him earlier (he deserved it i prommie), but now they're alllll gonna be there. Which, like, whatever. It is an open event, it's not like I'm gonna fucking gatekeep a public night market. At least Willow seemed super excited about it (is excited the right word? She kept staring at the poster, so I guess so?) so I'm glad she's happy! We're just gonna have to find a way to sneak away from the others for a bit, is all 😘

I lowkey think Falken definitely falls victim to the "rbf vibes without the actual rbf" deal. Sure, he's a little quiet compared to other people that he works with, but it does not mean he's adverse to casual touches or anything like that. He looks like the kind of guy whose love languages are quality time and touch. But anyway-

It's not a new occurrence to see him with his s/o in his office just hanging out once in a while. (would he have an office? i feel like he would LMAO) One can only look at so many reports before getting bored of them (not that he'd admit it), so once he sees you peering into his office with a small smile in greeting, that's when he knows he can let himself relax for a bit. ngl it's probably one of the things he looks forward to the most during the day.

if someone is searching for either one of you, they have to consider one thing, if they really need to find one of you, try to find out where the other is because 9 times out of 10, you both are going to be found together. But with the rare 1, good luck finding you or Falken ig

And if it's outside any work for the Esper Union, you probably end up cuddling a lot anyway. When you both are settled into the relationship, that most likely means sharing a home or apartment or whatever. He seems like a tea drinker, so he'd most likely have a nice comforting cup of tea while you're snuggled up to him and he's got a book in another hand, but never work. Despite Falken being a bit of a stickler, he absolutely refuses to bring work home when he could be using that time to spend it with you. damn where can i get one of him.

While you're most likely to initiate, that isn't to say he doesn't do the same. (slight spoilers if you don't read the character story) There may be times when he's seeking you out and looking for reassurance; from his own anxieties and doubts over what he's doing is best both for himself and for you, to his feelings over his former friendship with Sander and the choices the other made. He kind of lets it build up, and so when he gets really stressed, that's when his thoughts will begin to wander and then spiral.

That's where his love for quality time really shines, because sometimes it's not exactly something that he finds easy to talk about. Instead, it feels much more comforting to simply relax with someone he cares about and not have to think about too much. (Bonus if you rub his back or play with his hair, man melts. But now may I offer the mental image of his hair down instead of his usual style in game... bless.)

Sometimes, dates can be you both cozy at home. Whether in bed or on your couch in a tangle of limbs either wide awake and talking about several different topics ranging from the funniest to the slightly serious and everything in between or just asleep (one of you snores) and dead to the world. Because while either Falken or the both of you are well put together, sometimes it's tiring jgdksjgs.

I don't think he'd be too bothered if you wanna cuddle a lot. Because as mentioned earlier, Falken really likes the time he spends with you (and is probably a little touch starved). There may be times when you both might not see each other given your respective responsibilities to the Esper Union, so that time together is extra special.
