Color of a Mirror is my cyberpunk novel centered around a musician who wants to be a rockstar. Written, designed, and published by me, it’s not bombastic or action-heavy, but rather is driven by character and personal, human issues. It gets into ideas of the subconscious and the lies we tell ourselves. If you like the dark futures of William Gibson, I think you’ll find something to like in this book.

I love different forms of communication, anything really that codes words behind beautiful design rather than actual letters. The above design motif is on the cover of the forthcoming deluxe hardcover novel, and is a stylized version of the American braille for “Color of a Mirror” (beginning at bottom left).

Now we wait ...

Finished the novel, studied the submission process, probably blew the dreaded query letter, and now I wait. It’s been a week since I’ve submitted the story to various agents. For a debut novelist, this is torture. It’s a crowded boat I’m in, sharing it with innumerable first timers. Somehow that is a less than comforting thought.

What to do, what to do? Start the next project of course, then there’s more short stories to write. Okay, I can do this. Come on boat people, let’s get writing.

Wishing the happiest of release days to the beautiful @morganvegawrite and her incredible, self-published debut novel, SLEEPING AROUND! I inhaled this book in 2 sittings and it's so good, y'all. What is your favorite book/series? (No, you cannot name one you wrote.) It depends on what I feel like reading, but I find that I never tire of the Harry Potter series. Fantasy for life. 2. If you were a Jedi, what color would your light saber be? The most blinding neon colour I can get. That way, I can just confuse them by waving it in their face before I go for the ki—I mean... Okay, I meant 'kill'. 3. Android or Apple? Android. I haven't had much experience with an iPhone. 4. If you could be best friends with any Avenger, why do you choose AntMan? 😀 *ahem* I DON'T CHOOSE ANTMAN. 5. Where do you like to write/read? Anywhere that's quiet and comfortable enough. Preferably at home. 6. Dogs or cats? Both, but I might lean more towards cats. I hope to have a pet dog one day. 7. Do you prefer rainy days or sunny days? I love rainy days during the summer, and sunny days during winter. 8. What is your favorite color on a pair of socks? I prefer a shade of black or grey. I don't care for colourful socks, unless it's for Ravenclaw. 9. How many books do you read in a month? I'm not sure. According to my lists, I read over 100 a year. xD 10. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being “I love it”, 10 being “I love it so much my heart might explode”), how much do you love cookie dough? Don't yell at me. I don't care for cookie dough. QOTD: Do you watch the movie adaptations of books? What are some of your favs? AOTD: I’ll always watch the movie if there is one for a novel I liked. It’s interesting to be able to see the characters and their story instead of just visualizing it in my head. And for favourites...I liked the TFIOS adaptation a lot, obviously 😛 Hello!
