Amon Garam is underrated tbh
(Warning: Spoilers for Yugioh GX)
Tumblr media
When talking about GX characters I feel like a lot of people overlook Amon Garam/Adrian Gecko. He is probably one of my favorite characters.
Look, I get it, he's a piece of crap and deserved to be wiped out by Yubel/Johan. But I like what he represents in the story and how different he is from the rest of the main cast.
He's introduced as a jovial and sort of eccentric ace duelist in S3. Like a personal rival to Manjoume/Chazz, same background (rich boy) but somewhat...better (less impulsive, more clever, overall better duelist) which is exposed on their sky duel.
Tumblr media
And then he starts to change and become colder, more ruthless, smug and manipulative as S3 goes on, especially after partnering with Yubel. He sacrifices the woman he loves in order to attain Exodia's power without any second thoughts and he really seems to embrace his new role as King.
The scene where he's riding Exodia and refuses to finish the recently de-SKized Judai/Jaden is quite telling. He's drunk on power. He gambled and got a hell of a pay. And unlike Judai, who became SK after a hell of a traumatic event or Saio/Sartotius who was possesed by the Light of Destruction, Amon did it all consciously and out of his own will. No demonic possession, no LoD, no ancient millenary item possesion, nothing. Just an extremely ambitious bastard. In a way, he reminds me of Seto Kaiba in the early Yugioh manga chapters, before he got Mind Crushed by Yami.
Tumblr media
Eventually, Yubel possessing Johan snaps him back to reality by kicking his ass and wiping him out. Right before dying he 1) reveals that actually he wanted to become King to the typical "making the world a better place" shtick and 2) shows regret for killing Echo.
While number 1 seems to come out of nowhere and feels like a lame attempt to somewhat redeem him, I think it makes him even more tragic. I think of Amon and he reminds me of complex antihero "ends justify the means" characters like Canute from Vinland Saga and Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass.
(YES I just compared Yugioh with Vinland and Geass)
I feel like, if Yugioh broadened its scope to maybe a more mature setting, characters like Amon could probably be rewritten in a more neutral or even sympathetic light. And yet, because GX is deeply inside a shonen anime focused on promoting a card game, such risks couldn't be taken.
Tumblr media
And don't get me wrong, I think Amon was very well handed. He feels like an inverse of Axel O'Brien. While Axel starts as a stoic, cold and aloof duelist loyal to the shady Professor Cobra, Amon gets introduced as a charming and skilled guy who seems to oppose Cobra's schemes (after all, that means he's a good guy, right?) And yet, Axel ends up warming up to the main cast and even being (along with Jim) the one who saves Judai, while Amon ends up going the dark route. The fact they both come from Academies located on opposite cardinal points (Amon from east, Axel from west) might not be a mere coincidence.
To top it off, I just love how Amon and Axel end up in such different spots at the series finale.
Axel? With the main cast, being one more of them, eating, drinking, cracking a few jokes, enjoying their company. He's part of the gang despite arriving later. Like Johan (and my boy Jim)
Tumblr media
Amon? Who the hell knows. And who the hell cares. Dead. Forgotten. Vanished into nothing. Sentenced to life in the Shadow Realm. And the best part is that, aside from his aparition on the "missing student cards" on S3 ending, nobody brings him up at all. They dislike him so much that for what they know he may be being devored by harpies or tortured in some dungeon in the Dark World, it's all the same for the gang. They have better things to think about than some power drunk greedy ambitious asshole who killed the woman he loved for nothing.
Axel won friends, which is why he was given a second chance in S4. Amon lost it all, which is why he's one of the few GX characaters that died permanently. Maybe it was Shin Yoshida's intention to send a message in favor of personal bonds and connections. Maybe he forgot about Amon.
But no matter what, Amon is probably one of the GX characters that caught my attention the most.

Well, ig I’ll just do The Crux members in order then, give you guys something to work with? Idk, anyways here’s some descriptions of each of The Crux members:
Pandora De La Dáinn:
Pandora De La Dáinn, the youngest in the next generation of the noble family of Morgana, has lived in the post of her relatives’ massacre her entire life. But the tragedy doesn’t stop there.
At eight years old, her eldest brother, Victor, suddenly disappears into the depths of the night after saying goodnight to Pandora, and is never seen again.
At fourteen, she is stolen in the dead of night and murdered by the woman known as Alice Ripper. Alice working under a man named Lazarus’s orders. She awakens in the Neverwhere, a place full of souls of the deceased, and finds herself in front of the god of death himself. She pleads with the god, asking him to give her one more chance as she hasn’t done what she feels she must do. The god agrees, under one condition, she become the champion of death for him, and she will gain one more chance. She awakens in front of her family’s ancestral mansion, her hair white and her limbs a transparent navy blue, only her bones showing.
At eighteen, she finds one of Victor’s many journals and discovers where he went next. She then hastily writes a letter, telling her family what she expects from them when she gets back and why she’s leaving. Ending the letter in:
“If I return without Victor, it will be bad news, or, it means something more important than Victor has happened”
She sets off to find out what happened to her brother, and through these journals scattered around Selcouth, will learn why he left to begin with. All the while finding who she is outside of her family, who she will become as Champion of Death, and what she stands for as an individual.
Noah Ripper:
The finished project of two people’s genius, Noah is an android who was created to be nothing more than a weapon to the cruel and self absorbed Alice Ripper.
Running away at fourteen after seeing his mother murder a girl his age, he finds himself in the heart of the Agrona Branches, in the kingdom of Morgana. He takes in this new world after being hidden from it for so long, and eventually meets two tiefling kids whom he befriends.
The three travel together throughout the kingdom, until eventually, Alice finds him and attempts to dismantle him. Saved only by a girl his age with white hair and a knack for engineering and tinkering, he and his two friends promise to repay her for her kindness.
After the incident regarding his near dismantling, he vows to seek revenge on his mother and anyone involved in the horrible abuse he endured growing up. And finds his opportunity to do so when Pandora asks him, Ambrose, and Constance to travel with him.
They agree, and he sets out with a thirst for blood, a gun, and a handful of ideas on how to murder those who hurt him.
Ambrose & Constance Lockwood:
As two of the three children of the terrifying and dangerous Lockwood couple, Ambrose and Constance are born into a life of destruction and conquest. They are set to inherit their parents’ fortune and the countless kingdoms they ruled over as dictators. However, once the two were forced to take up a contract with two demons, they begin to question the righteousness of their family’s actions.
Seeing their eldest brother, Lazarus, fall further and further into torment, anger, pride, and violence, calls this into question even further.
After overhearing a plan to attack another noble family’s daughter and kill her, the two decide to run away that night. They quickly escape at fourteen and twelve years old without incident and make their way to the one kingdom they know Lazarus and their parents’ cult won’t want to touch, Morgana.
They meet an android boy their age, and quickly become friends due to their similar situations. But when the boy, named Noah, is attacked and nearly dismantled, they find a noble girl and beg for her help.
She fixes Noah up, and they learn her name is Pandora. They vow to her that they will find a way to repay her some day, and that day would come soon enough.
When Pandora asks for them to travel with her, the two plus Noah agree.
Ambrose and Constance make a promise to each other that they would do as much good in the world as possible, and that they will learn the details of what atrocities their family has committed and right those wrongs.
Little do they know what Lazarus is planning…
Nathaniel, Nico, and Natasha Woodwhisper:
Growing up the children of the Last Hunt Tribe’s chieftess, Dawn Woodwhisper, they lacked any knowledge of their father until age fifteen. Their mother begins telling them stories of their father, how he was a strong warrior and the Champion of Death.
Nathaniel despises him, seeing as he left their mother alone with triplets, and never once came to visit the family.
Natasha idolizes him, and does everything in her power to be just like him.
Nico is stuck in the middle, he understands Nathaniel’s position, but also understands Natasha’s. He is trying to balance his opinions.
One day, a group of strange people attack the tribe, setting the forest it’s in on fire and burning the entire forest to the ground. They are left without knowledge of where their mother is at or their tribe, the last words they heard from Dawn were:
“No matter what happens or how you feel about it, please go find your father, tell him what happened, please.”
And thus, the three set off with a group of four to find their dad, and figure out their familial mysteries.
Josiah & Lilith Mantlebar:
Josiah and Lilith Mantlebar are the children of a renowned cleric and bard. Lilith herself is a bard, playing the guitar, while Josiah is a paladin.
When Josiah was sixteen, he was chosen by the Thunder God Asterope to be their paladin and made an oath with them.
Lilith has had her dream since she was younger, that she would try to become the best bard there was out there.
One day, while the duo is out and about in a neighboring village, they return home to find their village in ruins. Their parents and neighbors nowhere to be found.
They stay in the ruined village for a few weeks, before they decide that in order to find their parents, they have to travel. And maybe they could achieve their goals along the way.
So the two set off, to find their parents, one to be the best bard in Selcouth, the other to learn his role as a paladin.
Karissa Jester:
Karissa grew up in a small village with her parents, she was a small tiefling girl and was happy for a long time, until her parents decided that the best option for her, was to give her up for adoption. She never knew the reason, but she knew it wasn’t a decision they wanted to make.
Going through dozens of different adoptive families and ultimately being put up for adoption every single time in the end, she decides to run away from the orphanage she was staying at and find somewhere she fit in at.
She’s finds that place eventually in Magnus Wanderlust, a traveling circus. She felt unconfident and afraid, but decided to try and see if she could join. The ringmaster, a lovely changeling woman, known for her changing in appearances, took Karissa in and decided that she would train her in the ways of the circus.
Karissa soon mastered her fire magic and proceeded to be a fan favorite by many, eventually becoming one of the highest paying acts the circus had.
But she wanted more, she’d seen some of the world, but only the small populated areas, never the unpopulated areas or the big kingdoms. And she wanted to learn who she was and where she came from. Lastly, she was ultimately lonely, she knew nobody her age who she was friends with, she didn’t mind being friends with all of the older members of the circus, but she wanted to experience true life as a young adult in Selcouth.
She brings this concerns to the ringmaster who nods and agrees that she has most likely outgrown the circus, and gives her some necessities and trinkets before she leaves.
And then, she’s off into the world, eventually meeting a pair of halfling siblings, one named Josiah, one named Lilith.
Lilith introduce Karissa into the world of music, and she never went back since, playing the guitar alongside her. Josiah taught her how to use her fire in a variety of different ways as well.
And thus the three became inseparable, traveling the world to find themselves and to explore.
Chance Boone:
Chance Boone was a famous cowboy out in The Restless Borderlands. He was known for his work with sheriffs, helping people out, and riding off into the sunset at the end of the day.
However, he was also known to be a violent man, destroying an entire town from his childhood who abandoned and ostracized him.
He loved the life he lived, but over time he became bored with the constant struggle of finding food or getting gold. And something kept gnawing at him.
He’d been kidnapped as a child and managed to escape, and his family had been murdered by these people. It was one night when he decided he would find the people who did that, and make sure they would be served justice.
And thus he hopped on his horse, and rode into the dawn, on a mission.
Barbara Monroe:
Barbara Monroe was known for being the outlaw of The Restless Borderlands. And her track record with Chance is certainly one to behold in the amount of times the two had met. She led her life, stealing, killing, and on the occasion finding a partner who’d inevitably stab her in the back and end up dead.
She always wondered what the rest of the world had in store. But knew she’d never leave The Restless Borderlands. That is, until her band of outlaws attempted to get rid of her under orders from a new outlaw king. Limping out into the desert with a gunshot wound in her side, she found the place Chance was staying at, and stumbled inside.
Chance was surprised to find his rival and nemesis asking for his help, he could’ve let her die, he should’ve let her die, but for whatever reason he chose to help.
The two talk for a while, until the topic of Chance’s family comes up, Barbara had a similar story about her family, and mentions the fact that she was put in the outlaw group to begin with because of that incident.
And with that, the two make a deal. They’d work together to get back at the outlaw group, and then they’d help each other with anything else.
For Chance that means exploring the world, for Barbara that means escaping her past.
Amelia Hayes:
Amelia was a noblewoman from the kingdom of Eudaemonia, she wasn’t from the noble family of Eudaemonia, but she was a noble nonetheless.
She would travel out to The Restless Borderlands in order to provide medicine and other sorts of technology to the people there, as they were behind on the times.
That is until she comes across a town that labels her a witch, and proceeds to try to burn her to death. Until, a pair of cowboys shows up and fights the ones attempting to kill her. One was a woman, the other a man.
They scare the rest of the townsfolk into leaving her alone, and then begin talking to her.
She explains her want to give medicine and other forms of technology and science to the world, and the two explain their wanting to explore the world.
And thus, after that, she began traveling with the two.
Owen Cogwright:
Owen, or, the second mind in the making of Noah, is a troubled man. Cursed with the heirloom curse given to his family by the god of souls, he is forced to work on the project for the god lest he be in an immense amount of pain.
He locked himself away like so many do, attempting to do the project on his own. That’s until Alice weasels her way into his life, and promises more than she can offer.
Owen works with her, creating the first 5 blueprints for Noah, ages 5-10 years old. However, Alice one night threatens Owen with his life if he didn’t leave the project with her and that he would have to deal with her taking credit.
Scared for his life, he unwillingly left, heartbroken for having to leave the one creation he saw as his own son behind.
Years and years passed and Owen never made another project, suffering with the pain and agony he endured from not working on it.
Until one day, he meets a group of people in the tavern he worked at, who he tells his story to. The short half elf girl with white hair asks him if he’d like to travel with them. And Owen, seeing as his time was running out in life due to the curse, decided to go with them. To see the world before he died.

Charl’s Top 10 Problematic ships:
Aoba x Mink - Noncon of the highest order. Not even the English censorship could make this game any less problematic. But its OK because Mink actually cares about Aoba. So that makes everything he did to him OK…not really?
Will Graham x Hannibal Lector - Dracula & Vampire Chronicles combined but dial everything up to 11. Now with even more murder, even more gaslighting, even more baby trapping, and cannibalism. :3
Count Dracula x Jonathan Harker - Held his own solictor hostage in his castle for several months, threw out his only shaving mirror, stole his clothes and framed him for babynapping, gas lighted him and casually mocked his helplessness to do anything about it, didn’t even have the courtesy to eat Jonathan himself and left him for his brides. Dick.
Lestat de Lioncourt x Louis de Pointe du Lac - Stalking your crush from a distance because he looks like your dead ex-lover and calling it “fatefully falling in love at first sight”, gaslighting said crush into eternal damnation marriage, baby trapping said crush so he won’t leave you (spoilers it did not fix their marriage), withholding vital information about vampirism because you don’t know jackshit about vampire culture and won’t admit it because you know he will dump your fine ass.
Satoru x Yashiro (Yashisato) - Murdered his student’s classmates and then his mum just to cover his own tracks. Underaged shotacon due to time travel shenangigans (Yashiro never learns Satoru is an adult trapped in a 10yo’s body), obsesses over said comatosed kid for 15 years and then tries to commit a lovers suicide in the manga after he wakes up.
Jinx x Silco (Jilco) - Unhealthy coping mechanisms from an emotionally stunted adult who had been betrayed by his brother and encourages his ward into following said unhealthy coping mechanism in order to deal with her own past trauma. Spoilers, it does not work and just encourages her self destructive tendencies.
Madoka x Homura (Homumado) - Unhealthy attachment for your senpai who keeps sacrifcing herself in every timeline no matter how many times you try and stop her. Steals your senpai’s powers and traps her inside your demon form because you would rather have her all to yourself then actually try and save the world.
Akira Fudo x Ryo Asuka - One is technically a devilman, the other is lucifer himself. They are forever doomed to be best friends who will bring about a war between heaven and earth that will end with both of them losing and all of humanity dying as a result of their relationship.
Sarah Williams x Jareth the Goblin King - She’s a 15yo larper and he’s an ageless fey creature probably centuries old. Kidnapped her baby brother and threatened to turn him in a goblin. Actually said the line “Fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave.” Honestly, she should have just accepted the offer. Dumb brat
Joker x Harley Quinn - The OG problematic ship. Stop pretending you didn’t ship it too. I know you did. Being woke will not erase your sins.

War for Earth Part 4
Olivia hovers over Zim’s yard, her wings flapping to keep her aloft. On the ground, Zim, Dib, Gaz, and Pepito glare up at her, weapons at the ready.
“This is it!” she exclaims, “today is the day I take this world and-wait. One of you is missing. Where’s my brother-in-law?”
           “Brother-in-law?” Pepito questions.
           “You mean Squee?” Gaz asks.
“What!” Pepito exclaims, blushing. “We’re not-! He isn’t-! I mean, not that I wouldn’t want…”
Dib shuts him up by planting his hand over Pepito’s face. “Squee felt like something was wrong at his house, so he went to make sure.”
“His house? Oh, right,” Olivia nods, “my new demon minions got too impatient and didn’t want to wait until I launched the army, so they ran off to kill Johnny themselves.”            “Squee was right,” Pepito gasps.
“He wouldn’t stand a chance,” she sighs, feigning regret. “Those demons are my greatest success and my most powerful minions.”            The Battalion flinches angrily.
“Liar!” Zim barks, “Squee is strong and Tak and the others went to cover him.”
“And Johnny is unstoppable too,” Dib adds.
“They’re all dead,” Olivia laughs, “those demons are all powerful. They would’ve ripped your friends apart.”
           “Sorry, who ripped who apart?”
Olivia turns at the voice while the Battalion smile with relief. She scowls as she sees Squee pulling himself out of the manhole in the middle of the cul-de-sac, closely followed by Tak, Bianca, Jeff, and Serena. It’s clear from all their bruises and cuts that they just fought a great battle.
           “Oh, you’re alive,” Olivia scoffs.
“Your demons are dead, Olivia,” Squee states, “they were torn apart by me.”
           “Literally!” Jeff adds.
She snarls. “Whatever. I still have my army! And they vastly outnumber your little group!”
Pepito swings his spear, releasing a wave of black magic at her. She blocks it with her javelin and takes off into the sky.
“Olivia!” he barks as his wings spread and he takes off after her. But he stops as he passes over the houses and sees the city.
In the distance, countless demons are scattered around the buildings, leaping from roof to roof. They smash through windows and walls, looking for victims. Any hapless humans who weren’t hiding well enough get caught in their claws.
Pepito gasps in despair while Olivia laughs.
“You see? It’s hopeless! You can’t defeat all of us! But you’re welcome to try!” she shouts as she flies off into the city. Pepito glares after her before flying back down to the road.
“There are demons everywhere!” he exclaims, “there’s way too many for us to handle.”            “Good thing we got reinforcements coming,” Dib points out.
“Hopefully they get here before the city’s destroyed,” Gaz adds drily.
“I am sending a message to Kio and the Director,” Zim declares as he grabs his phone from his PAK.
Pepito approaches Squee and the others and carefully cups his face. “You’re hurt.”
“This is nothing, we’ll be fine,” he replies.
“Yeah, you should see the other guys,” Serena remarks.
“If there was anything left of them,” Jeff adds, playfully punching Squee’s shoulder.
           “Ow,” he grunts.
“Good news!” Zim announces as overhead, a Vortian spaceship breaches the clouds. “Kio’s here.”            Everyone smiles as they watch the large ship fly past before landing somewhere off in the distance.
“Let’s go meet them,” Zim orders, “everyone, in the Epic.”
Everybody clambers into the Epic- Zim and Dib in the front seats, Squee, Pepito, and Gaz in the backseat, and Tak, Jeff, Serena, and Bianca in the trunk space behind them.
“We’re coming too!” Skoodge announces as he jumps into the back with Gir, Minimoose, and Mimi.
As they fly over the city, they watch the demons causing chaos all over, chasing civilians or just causing general destruction.
           “We better hurry,” Dib states.
They soon find where the Resisty ship has parked, in a field on the outskirts of the city. Zim lands the Epic just beside and everyone gets out as their ship’s exit hatch opens. Kio leaps out before it’s even all the way down.
           “Hi, guys!” she exclaims.
“Kio!” the Battalion cheer and race to meet her.
“It’s so good to see you all again,” she smiles, “I just wish it was under better circumstances.”
Her smile wavers just a bit as she sees Tak. “And Tak. I knew you had joined the Battalion but it’s still surprising to see you.” <A/N Kio and Tak have bad history, from my very old IZ fanfic Not Quite Un-Right>            “‘Joined’ is a bit much,” Tak replies.
“Oh, shut up, Tak,” Gaz grunts, “we all know you’re one of us now.”            The cyborg Irken huffs but doesn’t argue.
“Are the Resisty ready for battle?” Zim asks.
“Yes. It took some convincing but they are ready and-.” Kio stops as she looks back and sees that the only one who followed her outside is Shmoopy, who waves happily.
The Battalion waves back as Kio sighs. “Just a second.”
She marches past Shmoopy and back into the ship. She comes back after a couple seconds, dragging Lard Nar by the back of his suit, and drops him on the ground.
“Let’s go!” she barks back into the ship and the rest of the Resisty race out.
“Um, you guys don’t have to help if you don’t want to,” Squee points out.
“No, we said we would help and we will,” Kio insists and glares at Nar. “Right, Nar?”            “Yeah, yeah,” he replies dismissively, “it’s just…we saw the city from overhead and I really don’t think we’ll be much help.”
“We have more reinforcements coming,” Zim explains, “they should be here soon.”
“And the Irken Armada are also coming!” Nar points out, “we’re doomed! We never should’ve come!”
The Resisty start chattering in a panicked frenzy. Kio tries to calm them down but they don’t listen.
“This is your alien army?” Jeff questions sceptically.
           “We’re in trouble,” Serena grunts.
The spider legs extend from Zim’s PAK, lifting him high above everyone’s heads. “Everyone listen to Zim!”
Everybody quiets down and looks at him expectantly.
“I get it,” he says, “you’re scared. We’re up against two powerful armies. The fate of this world and everyone on it rests on our shoulders. The odds seem heavily against us.”
“Is this supposed to make us feel better?” Resisty member Spleenk mutters.
“But when have they ever not been?” he challenges. “The universe has been against us- all of us- since we were born! We’ve been subjugated, ridiculed, vilified, and forced to hide in the shadows! But we’ve always fought back! That’s why we’re standing here now! That’s why we’re all together!”
“So why should we quit now? Just because the usual insurmountable odds are now ganging up on us worse than ever before? No! That just means we have to fight harder, stand stronger, side by side and overcome these odds like we always have! Are you with me?”
Everyone stares at him in stunned silence before boisterous cheering breaks out. Fists, claws, tentacles, and other appendages punch the air. Zim spreads his arms wide and drinks it all in.
“How is everything so amazing and terrible at the same time,” Squee muses between everyone’s cheers.
A buzzing from his PAK catches Zim’s attention and he grabs his phone to read a message. “Ah,” he breathes and looks back. Everyone else follows suit as a jumbo helicopter flies into view. It lands in the same field a couple yards away and the Battalion go to meet it.
The hatch opens up and the Director of the SDA, Murdoc Sigmund, exits. He’s wearing a full three-piece, black suit, his red cybernetic eye sparkling in the sunlight.
“Quite the army you have here,” he remarks, staring at the aliens across the field.
“And you’re a part of it too,” Zim points out.
“You’re looking pretty dapper for someone who agreed to fight in a supernatural war,” Dib comments.
“Can’t a man look good when he’s saving the world?” Murdoc questions as he straightens his tie.
“Alright, okay,” Pepito nods agreeably, “respect.”
“Do you have your army?” Tak asks.
Murdoc grunts in response and steps out of the doorway. Fully armed, uniformed soldiers begin filing out and lining up, assault rifles at the ready. “My soldiers, all fully trained in fighting supernatural beings. And I can see on our flyover that your city is desperate need of it.”
“Yes, and now that you’re all here, we can begin taking it back,” Zim declares.
“Zim!” Kio cries, grabbing everyone’s attention. She’s holding some kind of screened device and looks up at the sky with a despairing expression. Zim scowls as he looks up.
The sun gets blotted out, casting the entire city in perpetual shadow, as a giant, red spaceship breaks through the atmosphere. It hovers overhead and countless, much smaller ships begin plummeting from its belly, crashing into the city.
“The Massive,” Tak breathes in shock and terror.
“Attention people of Earth!” a voice speaks out from the ship. “Your planet is about to be destroyed by the Irken Armada! Congratulations!”
“Alright, people, this is it!” Zim barks as he lifts himself up on his spider legs again. “We must stop Olivia’s demon army and the Irken Armada here and now, or the entire planet is doomed! The Earth is ours! It’s our home, our refuge when we had nowhere else to go! And we will not let it be destroyed!”            The Resisty, the SDA, and the Battalion cheer in response.
           “Well said, alien,” Murdoc nods.
“Now go!” Zim demands, sweeping his arm towards the city. “Spread out! Protect this city and its people! Show no mercy to our enemies!”
The Resisty and the SDA race off into the city, leaving the Battalion, their back-up members, Shmoopy, Kio, and Nar, and Murdoc behind.
“Here, everyone,” Kio says, holding a small case of communicators. “So we can remain in contact.”
“Thanks, Kio,” Dib replies as the humanoids each take one and stick them in their ears. Zim and Tak also receive communicator chips for their PAKs.            “We’ll also have to spread out,” Zim demands, “destroy our enemies. Report in every thirty minutes. And if anyone sees the Tallest, let me know.”
“And if anyone gets injured, call for me and I’ll come as soon as I can,” Shmoopy adds, “I’ll be around the city, helping anyone who needs it.”
“I’ll come with you,” Skoodge declares.
           “Now, go!” Zim orders.
“Right!” the Battalion nods and race off into the city. This time, Zim, Nar, and Murdoc stay behind.
“And what are you doing?” Zim asks the Director.
“Don’t you know anything?” he questions, “in war, the commander always stays behind to give out orders.”
           “He’s right,” Nar agrees.
“You’re only staying because you’re scared,” Zim argues.
           “What-no-I’m…you’re scared!” he retorts uselessly.
Zim scoffs. “Well, Zim is a commander, but he won’t be staying behind. Gir, Minimoose!”
His two minions join his sides as a jet pack extends from his PAK.
           “Let’s go destroy our enemies.”
The three of them blast off into the city.

Sailor Juno, Pallas, Ceres, and Vesta are the guardians of Chibi-Usa/Small Lady, the current heir to the Lunarian throne. They’re the Sailor Quartet. And they can be found on the Villain blog.
Their true names are JunJun, PallaPalla, CereCere, and VesVes. CereCere is their leader. Each of them are also Makoto, Ami, Rei, and Minako’s children form a dystopian temporal shift. Reborn in the Amazon rainforest.
Sailor Orcus and Sailor Vanth. The Anti-Setsuna and her trusted subordinate. Orcus is the Daughter of the Etruscan God of Death of the same name, while Vanth is the daughter of the Demonic Psychopomp from Etruscan Myth.
Orcus and her people were banished/severed from the Silver Millennium Alliance for their dabbling in the forbidden arts and using them for immoral crimes against life itself. From reanimating the spiteful deceased or conspiring against the crown.
They were subsequently punished and without trade, their people and culture began dying out. The same goes for the only natural satellite of Orcus, Vanth. When the Outer Senshi awoke the Senshi of Destruction, Sailor Saturn, she swung the Silence Glaive annihilating all life in the Solar System and sending the spirits to reincarnate one Earth to restart once more.
Orcus is a malevolent woman without a shred of conscience, she thinks not of the good within people, but rather how they can be used to further her own goals and ideals. She despises the royal family, their children, as well as the other princesses of the Solar System, and their spawn.
Her strength is par on with Setsuna, whom is the second most powerful after Usagi. One crucial difference between herself and Setsuna… She lacks restraint and uses her necromancy with little respect to the dead. Even children.
Vanth is an introspective deity who’s rival is that of Charon’s daughter, the Celestial Leisure Star, Acheron Hazel. While not outwardly malicious, she’s cold and calculating. Like Orcus, the silver-haired princess of Vanth aims to prove that she’s more than just an Anti-Charon. What she lacks in physical strength, is made up for with powerful psychokinesis and polarity reversion of divine energy.
The Kuiper Belt Senshi are Senshi who’ve existed since the Silver Millennium, but akin to the Asteroid Senshi/Sailor Quartet, they were never sent to combat evil or protect incoming threats from outside of the Solar System due to them being individual territories with little strength of their own.
They and their people were reincarnated upon the Earth during the fall of the Silver Millennium. Beryl and Metallia’s forces wiped them out in their entirety, with no protection of their own.
Sailors Eris and Dysmonia serve as the de-facto leader of the numerous gang with Sailor Makemake, Quaoar, and Haumea preside over their respective mini-factions.

Headcanon - Des’s/The Cane’s Magic
Tumblr media
While it can be seen as Satanic and demonic-based magic Des’s magic is not at all associated with Hell.
For the purposes of this blog Des is limited in what the cane can give based on his own abilities. Des’s abilities can overlap with other artifacts but he does have things unique to him: Such as the undead. He is the only artifact that is able to resurrect the dead completely. While others could animate the dead he is the only one that can reach into Hell/The Afterlife and drag souls back to Earth.
Witches would still be able to resurrect if they know the right spell to use ofc, but for any other species to I’d imagine it would be extremely difficult near impossible to do a perfect resurrection like Duke had been
Where his magic comes from is innate to Earth, it is strictly a mortal magic that is created from emotion. The stronger the emotions the stronger his power is, he feeds off of those around him and the angrier his opponent or anyone is around him the stronger he becomes. Though even without feeding upon other’s emotions he is still extremely powerful on his own.
Holy magic, in and of itself, cannot kill Des or even significantly harm him or stop his influence/magic. It takes specifically Healing magic to hurt him a lot (he cannot ever be fully killed). If Holy magic is used in a destructive way he will be unaffected, but if it used to heal then it can wound him significantly. Holy magic/weapons will harm the wielders of the cane though, as their souls are not complete if they have his power. To obtain his power they must sell their soul and as such their whole soul is and will never be fully complete again even if they are “healed”. As such holy magic and weaponry can significantly harm any user of the Artifact who has soul part of their soul to him.
Des is also limited to certain aspects of magic as well: As such he cannot do certain things such as complete/full transformations such as Selkies can. Bats are the only thing he’s been able to obtain an affinity to transform into but even then it is not perfect as a normal vampire and he cannot transform the cane itself either while the user is a bat. He can also not make plants grow, he can kill them but he cannot cause any plant to grow, bud, or bloom. He cannot heal in the same way that the Empress can. He can heal in terms of keeping a body alive, but he cannot heal the mind nor the impacts wounds have upon the person. He also cannot prevent wounds entirely either. There are limitations to extended magic and advanced spells that are outside death and fire as he is not as versetile but due to his connections with Eton/Bargaining he has been able to learn more and extend his abilities with these things.

The Eliocalypse is a tragic event that disrupts the Kontinuum, time and space. The events of the Eliocalypse were reported by the King-God who testifies to the end of the world of the 12.
The announced catastrophe is brought by 4 plagues responding to the names of War, Misery, Servitude and Corruption.
It is Helzbeth, the mother of the Ravagers, who allows the 4 plagues to enslave the consciousness of the World of Twelve by entrusting them the tormented stone. This event is at the origin of the Eliocalypse and the chaos that follows it.
Helzbeth is one of Rushu’s sisters, who along with seven other demons, is held prisoner in Externam. She was plunged into a dream-free sleep by Draconiros following the Cania event (*see below)
Indeed, by recovering the stone at the origin of the nightmare of the pests, the 4 plagues also create a paradox, which makes that a piece of time, the Entropix, is detached from the dreams to land in the Xerlorium then in the World of Twelve, making the Twelvers have strange nightmares at the same time.
The 4 Horsemen begin their work of destruction by sowing trouble in the plains of Cania after having poisoned a Kanig ambassador then visiting Amakna Castle. Moreover, while a large part of the Kanigs fought the Bworks in the Cania Peaks, King Beldarion decided, on the instructions of Intendant Danathor, to consider the Kanigs and their matriarch Kanigroula as a threat to the White City. Militiamen then took control of the village of Dents de Pierre and took the matriarch prisoner.
The Kanigs thus fall under the yoke of Servitude. The war between the Kanigs and the Bworks is transmitted between the Kanigs and Bonta. The War plan being to use the conflict to shed the blood of the Kanigs and Kanigroula in order to make appear Thanatena, queen of Externam and god of death, and propose him a covenant.
All this in order to extend their dominion over the world of the Twelve.
Servitude spreads despair and submission by reducing the passengers of his galley to slaves, forced to obey his orders. Servitude holds the soul of Draconiros prisoner and uses it to make his galley more efficient. The Galley absorbs the bodies of dead prisoners, whose dreams and nightmares then reach Draconiros.
Servitude searches for the 12-sided box or Pandora’s box, containing the memory and part of the power of each of the 12 pantheon gods. However, the god Xelor, who had knowledge of his plans, preferred to erase his memory so that he would forget the existence of the artifact.
Corruption also tries to corrupt Rathrosk, the son of death, but fails, making at the same time fail the plan of the 4 horsemen to recruit his mother, Thanatena, to make him the 5th horseman.
These events are accompanied by the arrival of Temporal Anomalies in the world of the 12. The Zaaps Network has become unstable, forming disturbances in the Kontinuum that manifest in the World of Twelve in the form of temporal anomalies. These anomalies cause instability in the areas in which they occur, making the monsters in the vicinity more powerful.

CreaThe 6th Circle of Hell, Mahkate Niishwi, or “The Second Darkness”
“Across the sea there are a diverse group of tribes, who all developed an innate understanding of the magical energies permeating everything in this realm. From the stones beneath their feet to the waters they drink. Even the spirits and souls of animals are strong here, an entire race unto themselves called the ‘Totem’ with their own hierarchies and legends such as Coyote and Crow.
A shame, that their descendants did not survive the sons and daughters of Pluto. Yet in Hell, we have the opportunity to learn from the failures of our history. For those of the Americas, the oppressed learned that they would rather be the oppressor.”
-Dante Alighieri, Inferno Pt II
The tribes of North America live and thrive as beings of pure spirit, easily manipulating nature itself to fit their whims. Buildings and towns blend in with the environment, giving the impression of hills and forest for miles nearly unnoticed. A peaceful and idyllic land, where Sinners and Demons have no qualms with each other. The Totem race, souled animals especially plentiful in the Americas, co-exist with the Mahkate and often advise the political leaders and are tied to specific families.
Of course the peace did not last in this Circle, the children of the Tribes stopped manifesting in Hell entirely, and dire news was shared by the newly dead who came in droves. The American colonists that began to manifest in the Circle were confused, isolated, and terribly outnumbered by a people who would not be defeated a second time.
Now Mahkate Niishwi runs on a slave economy with the sons and daughters of Pluto, among other Circles, trapped in their borders. Initially an emotional response to have revenge for their children and bloodlines, now the situation has taken a life unto its own as the newly manifested Sinners quickly outnumber the original Tribes people. Desperately trying to fight the inevitable, the Mahkate turn to ever more brutal measures to dismiss any possibility of uprising, slowly burning political ties to the other Circles who seek justice for their kin and have them returned home. Will Mahkate Niishwi collapse as a Circle of Hell? Or will its Sinners find a way through the generations of revenge and hatred? Only time will tell...
---
FOR DMs
Mahkate Niishwi is simply a reversal of North American history, where the natives enslaved the colonists. Sending a campaign to this Circle guarantees a ton of Sinner VS Sinner stories in the weird wild west of the American continent. Of course you can take this to more of a “man vs nature” campaign, with the party composed of natives, Totem, pure demons, or dignitary characters from other Circles.
DMs should experiment with different groups that have been famously opposed in history, banding together to face mutual threats in Hell. Or with the bureaucratic processes Lucifer would apply to a Circle on the brink of destruction.
