Reminder for anyone interested in the DC Round Robin that its currently in the final bracket, and you all should absolutely go onto DC Universe Infinite (if youre outside the US, a VPN allows you to access it!) to vote for the Superboy comic!! It’s up against Suicide Squad Dark, and theyre currently tied with 50% each. (Idk about yall, but im super tired of the dark and gritty style DC has been trying so hard to pander toward their gatekeepy dudebro audience, not to mention the fact that the Superboy title would help steer us away from Batfam/Gotham/Batman-rogues content, which is suuper oversaturated as of late, and i say that as someone whose main consumption of DC comics includes batfam content)

Do you think superboy has a chance of winning in the round robin thing?

rip to me answering this so late that Superboy won and it's a moot point. The answer I would have given before the final round ended and now actually remains the same: yes, and for two main reasons.

One: the Superboy Round Robin mini is the first Conner-focused story to be published since 2011, and it's explicitly focused around clearing up the major characterization, continuity, and character direction issues that have surrounded Kon since his return to the main continuity in 2019. Kon was and is an incredibly well-loved and popular character, and the opportunity to get a book focused on him that actually moves his character forward in a meaningful way is incredibly appealing to a lot of people (especially fans who have the desire and access to vote in the final round on DC Universe).

Two: comic fans are are tired of Batman, and the main selling point of the book the DC execs so clearly wanted to win (Suicide Squad Dark) was that it was a Vampire!Batman Elseworlds story. The oversaturation of Batman combined with the fact that basically everyone in the book has had a story focused on them in the past 2-3 years, there's already a vampire story on the shelves (DC vs. Vampires), it's an Elseworlds story and doesn't impact the main universe at all, and some just.......odd choices overall (the book was supposed to feature Zatanna/Raven as a pairing, for one) made it a significantly less popular option when compared with Superboy.

Also fans have overwhelmingly expressed their dissatisfaction with the entire Round Robin process and absolutely collectively decided to torpedo the execs' chosen favorite out of sheer spite after they failed to do so last year with Robins, so that also played a part.
