THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION!!!

With the help of wonderful @PEPPAJEANN I am bringing you the CARL TATTOOS~ (great for all your artistic reference needs) With and without transparency, in png format.

BUT before you run away with them, COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP AND BRING ME HD SCREENSHOTS OF CARL'S NECKLINE?? (look! tats goes up to the side of the neck, I need more details!)

Aren't they splendid? If that's not a symbol of his relationship with Elijah, what else would it be? The right sleeve's style is obviously Japanese and if we've got a nerd who loves Japanese culture that's Elijah. But let's look closer. First, this is obviously a very Carl tattoo, because skulls. Carl is obsessed with death. If you look at his tacky house: there are skulls fucking everywhere, pinned butterflies, a stuffed owl overlooking the bed, a whole dead giraffe and a near complete tylosaurus (or mosasaurus) skeleton [it's no wonder Carl has a tendency to be dramatic and just die if Markus doesn't do as Carl expects] Woops tangent. So, skulls! But then I also tried to figure what those flowers might be, and orchid rockroses (cistus purpureus) is the closest I could find:

Flimsy petals, pinkish, dark blotches, golden ring of etamines, white stamen... Close enough? So I looked up the meaning of that flower.

OKAY THAT SOUNDS LIKE CARL, I'LL TAKE IT 5 (Carl why!!?)

Then we've got carps forming a Ying and Yang symbol and giving us all ATLA flashbacks. You know what I mean. The symbol represents interconnection between opposite principles. It's a circle, immanence, neutrality. Fitting for a man who never takes responsibility and expects others to be the ones to make a change.

Now, that red-eyed, three-clawed dragon has at least 3 heads. I tried to look up Japanese dragons and interestingly, Yamata no Orochi is one of the few monstrous evil dragons out there, characterized by being a red-eyed abomination with 8 heads, 8 tails, and plants growing over his body. Also requires a diet of human sacrifices, and drops OP artifacts when slayed. Vulnerable to booze. And I'm looking at those flowery things growing from the dragon heads on the tat, like uhmm. Also, Yamata no Orochi symbolizes the concept of "you're never finished until the last task or detail is completed." Which is a mood an artist can relate to, ig. Seems like a Carl thing to go like "Yeah I'm getting of tat of that girl-eating asshole dragon."

Finally: The Official DBHC Etho Reference Sheet!

I had to clarify that the “current” look is for Season 9, because I’m not sure how or if he’ll change for s10 yet! The “current” version is essentially his updated “default” look! Thought I might mention also that “Back Around” on the loose timeline lineup at the bottom is a reference to a song on his playlist in which he takes some time away from everyone after re-deviating to re-remember and find himself <3

Side note: Etho wears his mask under his chin mostly just around bdubs, but he starts wearing it down more often around doc, tango, or others who are used to seeing the damage. More than anything else, he’s sure to keep it for protection purposes when he’s outside working, exploring, or anything else that isn’t just hanging and chatting with friends :]

A while ago I saw the idea of @squad-724 , where TBB was within the DBH canon, I loved this concept so much that I made my own costumes for them, it took a while but I feel calm, it still lacks a lot of details that I added, like their backpacks or Crosshair's peepholes, because I liked playing with the concept of each one , it's a WIP that will take a while to come out...but at least I can rest for a while

Pd: I had to calculate the difference between heights to make them as canonically possible

So I spent hours just recreating this stupid wallpaper so I could use it in that cover art pic. Here's the file. Yes it fucking tiles. I suffered so you don't have to. If you need that fucking texture, take it, run away with it, do whatever with it :U You're welcome.

NB: I think the original doesn't have variations in the shades of green, it's a trick of the light, but it was cheaper for me to use 2 shades. I put the uncolored version too, should you need it.

A break from our regularly scheduled programming: a DBHC Docm77 reference sheet!

This is something I’d like to do for all of the androids as I get more familiar with their designs and story, so I don’t know how long it’ll be until all of the androids are done, but for now, here’s a little bit of a peek into my thought process behind doc’s design! His never-before-seen Pre-Deviancy design was both incredibly fun and incredibly disorienting bc for real who is that man DBJCGHK but he’s also kinda fun to draw =w= So I may do some Beginning of S8 doodles or comics at some point for fun :3

DBH Character Heights

Some folks in the Simarkus server were discussing characters' heights, and I decided it was high time I finally figure out how to use the extraction tools and determine if there are any insights to be found as to the android characters' heights.

Unfortunately, it would seem the base height of the models does not accurately reflect how they appear in-game. We can see this in the discrepancies between the measurements in Blender and the measurements found in the in-game gallery for the human characters as well as in the visual differences of certain characters (e.g., Leo is definitely not only one inch shorter than Markus). Disappointing, but I figured it's still worth sharing what I found. I included the comparisons for some human characters at the bottom, for those curious.

While I hid the hair submeshes for all of these models to get the most accurate measurements, note that several characters have atypically shaped heads, likely to make their hair appear thicker while saving on resources (e.g., Connor and Hank).

Let me know if there's anyone not listed you'd like me to check! It's a super simple process to extract the model and measure it in Blender.

Connor: 185.4 cm / 6'1" Yes, I double-checked RK900. They're identical.
