Unwanted: Chapter 23, Undressed - Pt. 4

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Avenger!Fem!Reader

Summary: When your FWB relationship with your best friend Bucky Barnes turns into something more, you couldn’t be happier. That is, however, until a new Avenger sets her sights on your super soldier and he inadvertently breaks your heart. You take on a mission you might not be prepared for to put some distance between the two of you and open yourself up to past traumas. Too bad the only one who can help you heal is the one person you can no longer trust.

You were nursing your fourth Malibu and pineapple, more than a little drunk. The beachside bar was loud, a touristy spot, and if you weren’t halfway to plastered, you’d probably find its faux-tropical theme charming. Your brief quasi-interaction with Bucky was leaving you feeling restless and reckless, and you felt the urge to make some bad decisions.

“What’s a pretty girl like you doing in a bar all alone?” asked Bad Decision as he walked over to you. You looked him over. He was attractive, in a generic All-American kind of way, with shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. Not the crisp ocean blue that haunted your dreams, but close enough that you pretend in your inebriated state.

“I’m sorry,” Bad Decision said after you’d been silent for a moment too long. “It’s a horrible pick up line. Could you, maybe, pretend to write your number down on a napkin so my friends” he pointed behind his shoulder to a table “don’t roast me for failing miserably?”

You looked behind him to see a group of guys watching the interaction with intense interest.

“How old are you?” you asked him.

“Twenty one,” he said proudly, as though surviving this long was an accomplishment. “My buddies and I are here on break from UOhio.”

You raised an eyebrow. “I’m from Dayton,” you told him.

“No shit!” he said, and he was overly delighted, like a chocolate labrador waiting for a ball to be thrown. “Small world, huh?”

“Sure,” you said, scrutinizing his physique. He was muscular, but not in the way you wanted. But he would do. “Tell me, UOhio,” you began, throwing back the rest of your drink, “do you want my fake number, or do you want a quick fuck?”

I have not...this is going to have some bittersweet moments, and I'm also going to include some moments with Story and Posie after Dayton's passing. That little girl was so happy that Story was having a baby, and she really didn't spend a ton of time with her in the early pregnancy.

Posie Rogers Masterlist

“Ris,” James follows his wife out of the bedroom and down the hallway. Using his longer legs to gain on her quickly. Gently reaching out for her arm, but she flinches away. “Iris, please.”

“You called me Iris,” her voice angry, but more hurt than anything. “Not Iris Jade. But Iris.”

“Because, you won’t stop and listen.”

“Why is it everything that she wants, she gets? Posie is my daughter. I say who she can and cannot see,” James’ never turns his face up in anger. It only softens. “Why? Tell me why she gets this?”

“Ris, Baby Doll, I know you’re angry,” she scoffs, but moves closer to his arms. “I was there. I know what happened.”

“And as my husband you should know why I don’t want her to see Posie yet. Everyone expects me to forgive so quickly. And I just can’t right now. The things she said about my mom. My dad. Her biological father. And she had no idea.”

“You’re right. She didn’t. She knew what that stupid little bitch was saying at school. Everyone wanted to keep that life away from Story and Blade, so she got an account from a girl who’s mother was in love with Andy.”

“Don’t say his name.”

James tilts his head to the side and kisses on Iris gently. “Story didn’t know how bad it was. Story was hurt and angry. Did you hear how her and Carter broke up? Iris I have never seen someone love the way they did. Besides us. I saw them. I heard Carter talk about Story and how he wanted to marry her. And when they broke up, she spiraled. She had this unresolved depression from me, from Harlan, from you, and Posie. She took care of Posie because she hurt so much for you. She would do it over and over again. But she bonded with our daughter. That baby became more than her niece and you know she did. So to keep Posie away from Story is unfair to both of them. Baby Doll, I know you’ll forgive Story in time. I have no doubt about that. I know that you need your time to get over everything that happened. But can you not admit that your sister spent nearly a year in rehab away from her family, when even Joshua, Bucky, and Dr. Banner said she craves touch. She was alone. She’s still alone and trying to navigate a sober life with Carter still refusing to talk to her. She misses you and Posie.”

“Jamey,” Iris sighs. Pressing her face firmly on his chest. “I’m just not ready.”

“I know. And I understand. And we will get through this, and the miscarriages, and the negative tests together. You and me. It’s always been you and me and it always will be. I’m not going anywhere. But our daughter misses her aunt. What are you scared of?”

“That she’ll love Story more than me,” James pushes Iris off of him, his hazel eyes moving all across her face and he leans forward to give her a kiss. “Story is the fun one. She doesn’t have the job I have so she can spend hours playing with Posie, and telling her those stories, and I’m just an anxious ball.”

“She’s the aunt. Of course she’s more fun. But you’re her mother. You. You were the woman who birthed her, and will love her no matter what she does. Posie will never love Story, the way she loves you. It’s not possible.”

Dodger comes around Iris, and starts pacing around. Licking at her hand. Sitting down, only to anxiously walk around her, before he gives her a demanding bark. “Will you stay with me?”

“I’m not going anywhere. We can have a day. Me and you,” Dodger barks loudly again, and James looks down at the good boy. “Dodger, too.”

“Fine. This isn’t a regular thing. And this doesn’t mean that I…”

“I know. You’re doing good Iris Jade Rogers.”

Posie sits on her Papa’s lap, just holding onto Ransom. Her little fingers playing with the back of his hair, just like her mama did when she was little. You and Story walks through the room, and you can already feel the happiness radiating off of Story.

“Hey, Princess Posie,” she says softly. Posie gets one look at who’s talking, and her face lights up immediately. Looking back at Ransom quickly, when Story squats down and holds her arms wide for her.

“Is it really you, Ree?” Story nods her head, and Posie rushes over to her. Knocking her backwards and she clings to her. With one sniffle from the little girl, Story knows she missed her as much as she missed Posie. “Don’t do that again. Don’t…I missed you so much.”

“I know baby. I know.”

She pulls back to look at Story, and the two of them wipe each other faces from the tears. “Can we have a tea party and you finish Lancelot and Guinevere’s story?”

Ransom and you go to move closer to them, making sure that name didn’t bother Story, but you’re little bitty baby just smiles, “Yes, we can finish it. Mimi has already set up a tea party in your room. Come on,” standing up, she holds out her hand to Posie who just clings to it. Holding her so tightly as to not lose her again.

“Princess?” Carter hums as the two of them lay in bed. His hand holds tight to Story’s swollen belly, and he gives Otto’s temporary home a rub. “There’s a little girl that wants to see you today.”

“No she doesn’t.”

Carter gives a sigh to Story, and continues petting along her stomach. “There is nothing that she wants more than to see you right now. You’re about to give her a cousin, and she won’t be alone anymore. I know you want to spend some time with her before Otto is here. I think she’s a bit concerned that he’s going to replace her.”

“No, he can’t. Me and Posie will always have tea parties and stories. She was my first little princess.”

“She set up a tea party all by herself. To be fair, it is milk, Biscoffs, and Uncrustables. But she did it…”

“Did she?” Story sits up smiling through her tears at Carter. He gives her a nod in answer. “Why have I been avoiding my pretty girl for so long?”

“You needed this time to process everything.”

“What I need,” she stands up and walks to the closet. Rummaging through a few outfits before throwing something on. “Is to spend time with a little girl who has always brought me happiness.”

Dressed, Story walks to Posie’s room and sees her niece waiting patiently at her table. Her tiered tray filled with a few snacks, and like Carter said Biscoffs and Uncrustables. “Hey, Princess Posie.”

“Aunt Ree, you came! I told mama and daddy you would. I set up everything by myself. It’s not as pretty as when Mimi does it. But I did this. And…oh, your baby. Can I touch your belly?”

For the first time in weeks, Story fully smiles. Nodding her head, she lets Posie walk over. Her hands hold onto her bump, before kissing it, ending with her laying on it. “I can’t wait to meet you Otto. You and I have the best mommies.”

What is your total posted word count on AO3? 335017

How often do you write? I try to write a little bit every single day. Writing is a stress release for me and it helps me to center myself sometimes.

Do you have a routine for writing? I don't think I really do? I get a lot of ideas when talking with friends and sort of build up a story and throw it on my WIP list until I can get to it. I always try to create a calm environment for me to work in and try to write at my desk because it makes me feel like I'm being more productive.

What’s your favorite tropes/pairing? My favorite pairing to write is, of course, Tarlos. Followed by Ducky (Bucky Barnes x Dayton White) and Fransom (Frank - from Endings Beginnings - x Ransom Drysdale) - both are crackships I came up with me. I love all the tropes, they're all so good. My favorites have to be angst, slow burn, and anything blank to lovers.

Do you have a favorite fic of yours? I really love my current Soulmate AU I'm writing With love, your soulmate and my fic, Back to You.

Your fic with the most kudos? The must kudos I've gotten is 323

Anything you don’t like about your writing? I don't think my dialogue writing is as good as it could be. It's something that I am trying to be better at.

Disney Movies with Daddies

A/N: Hey all! I know I have some requests in my inbox that I have yet to answer (I promise I am getting to them!) but I really needed to write this for my own mental health. This post is about age regression, so if that isn’t for you please keep scrolling. I watched an extremely traumatizing movie yesterday and just needed to spend time with my fictional daddies to get the movie off my mind! If you want to understand age regression I highly suggest going to @sheriffbodeckerlee ‘s blog. She has a wonderful post explaining age regression and even writ’s some of the best Lee Bodecker stuff on this app. She is a lovely person, and deserves the love she puts out into the world. Also, as you may have noticed I added two new characters to the roster, Chris Beck and Mickey Henry. I hope you guys enjoy! Warnings: Age regression, fluff, angst, no proofreading

Lee Bodecker- Toy Story Series

Lee loved to watch you light up when Woody came on the screen when you were in your little space. You were completely surrounded by coloring utensils and papers, and even colored in a Woody page for your Daddy. You knew your Daddy was the Sheriff of Knockemstiff, which made you love Woody even more because he was a Sheriff too. You looked back at Lee who was sitting on the couch and grinned big before exclaiming “Look Daddy! It’s your best friend, Sheriff Woody!” He smiled back, but stopped you in your tracks. “Oh princess, Sheriff Woody isn’t my best friend.” You were shocked by your Daddy’s words, how could he say such a thing? However, Lee quickly scooped you up into his arms and kissed your nose. “You’re my best friend, Angel.” A huge grin formed on your face, followed by a slight giggle. “Oh silly Daddy, you can’t be my best friend! You’re my Daddy.” He chuckled and brought you into a tight hug. “You’re so smart pretty girl. I am your Daddy.” You beamed, loving his words of praise. You loved being called smart. “Can Daddy tell you a secret though?” You looked up in excitement. “Of course Daddy! I pinky promise I’ll keep it safe.” You couldn’t wait to spill the beans to your stuffies. As you locked pinkies with your Daddy, he leaned in real close so he could whisper in your ear. You could practically feel the tension, eagerly awaiting this oh so special secret that was on for you and your Daddy (And your stuffies of course). “Tag, you’re it!” Lee gently set you down on the couch as he ran away, waiting for you to chase after him. You shouted back “Hey! That’s not fair!” As you chased after him, you knew full well that your Daddy was also your best friend.

Dayton White- Cars Trilogy

You were always on the move with your Daddy. If you weren’t in a car, you were in a plane, and if you weren’t in a plane, you were at a hotel for one of your Daddy’s racing events. As you sat in the back of the car with your Daddy, you watched Cars 3 on your brand new IPad your Daddy got you for your birthday. In one hand was your pink sippy cup filled with organic apple juice in it (your Daddy insisted you only had healthy stuff), and the other hand was being held by your Daddy. As you watched the movie on your IPad, you looked over at your Daddy who had just gotten finished talking with the driver. He looked confused, but knew you were about to ask him a question. “Daddy?” you said sweetly. Dayton looked at you and started swirling patterns on the back of your hand. “What is it, angel? What are you thinking about in that pretty head of yours.” You sat and thought about how you would ask your Daddy the silly question swirling in your mind. Finally, you spoke up. “Is your car alive Daddy? Like Lightning McQueen?” He laughed to himself, not really sure how to answer the question. “Well, kinda baby. I win my race with my car, I couldn’t do it without her.” You knew it. You knew it all along. You still had yet to meet this car. “Well, what’s her name Daddy? Can I meet her?” He thought for a while, wondering how he could get you down to the track easily while you were in your little space, but he came up with an idea. “Her name is Maria, angel. How ‘bout you come down with me before the race today to meet her? I’m sure she would love to meet you too.” You squealed in excitement and nodded. Now you could be proud of your Daddy and his car when they won their races.

Bucky Barnes- Beauty and the Beast

Bucky was always so gentle with you, treating you like a flower who could lose it’s petals at any moment if he handled you the wrong way. You always wondered why he was afraid to touch you, but you found out one day when he couldn’t make it to see his therapist in person. “I’m a Beast, Valentina. I don’t deserve her.” Your heart broke into a million pieces when you heard him say those words. How could he? He was the sweetest man alive, and you couldn’t imagine any other man being your Daddy. When he was done with his meeting, he came into the living room with applesauce in one hand and your sippy cup in the other. You were watching Beauty and the Beast, but you looked...sad almost. You never were sad in your little space, unless you were injured, watched a sad scene in a movie, or when he was away on a mission. “What’s wrong, peanut? Are you hurt??” Bucky rushed to your side immediately, concerned you injured yourself while he was in his meeting with the therapist. A single tear ran down your cheek as you mumbled something to yourself. “What baby? I can’t hear you. You have to speak up.” You sighed and looked up at him. “You’re not a Beast Daddy. You’re a Prince, you’re my prince and you saved me.” Oh no. You had heard what he said to his therapist over the phone. “Baby, I- I’m sorry I have said anything like that about myself. You’re right, princess. And you know what?” You looked up at him, still upset he said those words to his therapist today. However, you conceded. “What, Daddy?” Bucky put your chin in between his fingers and kissed both of cheeks before kissing your lips. “You saved me too.”

Chris Beck- WALL-E

You knew your Daddy was an astronaut, which always made you worried when he would go away for a long time to go visit space or have space training. However, to help ease your anxieties about space (and also shield you from some of the bad things that could potentially happen to him while doing these things), he showed you the movie WALL-E. You fell in love with the movie instantly. “Daddy! Look at the pretty stars!! Are they always that pretty when you go see them in person?” Chris smiled down at you as he held you and played with your hair, putting it into loose braids every couple of minutes to soothe you. “They’re even prettier in person, baby. Nothing is as pretty as my little girl though.” You were absolutely in awe of what space looked like. It was so big, and beautiful, but scary at the same time. However, although you loved space, you were more of a dinosaurs kinda person. This prompted you to ask your Daddy an extremely important question. “Daddy?” Chris looked down at you again, planting a kiss to your forehead before responding. “Yes, my sweet star?” You closed your eyes and smiled at his gentle kisses, loving every second you could be with him. “How come you chose a job in space and not with dinosaurs?” You could hear a small laugh come from him, but didn’t know why. You were genuinely curious. “Well, baby, all the good jobs were taken at Jurassic World. Besides, they need me more in space anyways. You wouldn’t want Daddy to get eaten by a dinosaur, now would you?” You shook your head frantically at the thought and squeezed your Daddy so tight you thought he would pop. Although you loved dinosaurs more, you were glad your Daddy had a job in space instead.

Lance Tucker- Hercules

There was no doubt that your Daddy was “the God of Gymnastics.” He would never stop talking about it, and even his friend Hope would roll her eyes because he said it so much. However, it never bothered you. Your Daddy was God. That meant he hung out with Zeus, Poseidon, Athena (your absolute favorite), and even Aphrodite (even though you did get a bit jealous at the thought). However, what you couldn’t figure out is why he never took you to meet them yet. You got so upset about it that you didn’t talk to your Daddy the rest of the day the next time he said it. Your Daddy just thought you had gone non-verbal for the day, not knowing you were mad at him for not introducing you to his friends. When you woke up the next morning and still wouldn’t talk to him, he knew something was up. Lance knew exactly what to do to cheer you up though. He would put on a new Disney movie for you two to watch. As he carried you down the stairs on his hip, he explained to you that he wasn’t going into work and would spend the whole day with you. Although this made you happier, you were still upset. “We’re even gonna watch a new movie together. I know it came out a while ago, but we both haven’t seen it. How does Hercules sound angel?” You nodded in excitement as you drank from your sippy cup, the beverage threatening to spill everywhere at your excitement. He smiled as he sat you in between his legs on the floor, turning on Disney+ and scrolling to find Hercules. As you sat and watched the movie, you saw all of your Daddy’s friends. Maybe this was his way of introducing you to them, since they could be big and intimidating just like your Daddy. However, it became clear to you by the end of the movie why you could never meet your Daddy’s friends. No wonder you couldn’t meet them! Normal people couldn’t enter Mount Olympus. Your Daddy even chose to stay down on Earth to take care of you, giving you a pang of guilt as well. You were mad at your Daddy for no reason, all because you didn’t understand grown up stuff. All of a sudden, you got up and gave your Daddy the biggest hug. “I’m sorry I didn’t talk to you Daddy. I didn’t understand, but I do now. You’re the bestest Daddy in the whole world. Although Lance loved this affection, he was also extremely confused. However, he would let it go for now. “And you’re the bestest Princess in the whole world. Now, why don’t we go get some ice cream?”

Charles Blackwood- The Aristocats

You lived a lavish lifestyle with your Daddy in upstate Connecticut. He always made sure you had the best toys, the best place to live, and even the best clothes. You wore your silk pink pajamas as you laid in bed with your Daddy, feeling his warm chest against your back. Charles always went to bed shirtless, knowing that feeling his skin even with your hands helped you fall asleep faster. The Aristocats was playing on the TV as you laid against him, feeling your eyes droop, when you got the perfect idea. Your birthday was only a few weeks away, and your Daddy never lost any chance to spoil you. You sat up quickly, startling Charles as he read the newspaper. However, as soon as he saw your big puppy dog eyes and pouty lip, he knew you were about to ask him something big. “What’s going on in that smart brain of yours that made you wake up so quick, huh kitten?” Your cheeks heated at his compliment, but you couldn’t get distracted. “Well, Daddy, do you know how my birthday is coming up soon?” He smiled, but wasn’t quite sure what gift you were going to ask him for this time. “Of course I do peanut, how could I forget the most important day of the year?” You giggled, loving when your Daddy flattered you. “You also know how you love to call me kitten?” Now he knew where this was going. “Yes, kitten, I do.” You thought of how you were going to sell this to him so he wouldn’t say now. Finally, you found the right words. “What if I also had a kitten to love like you love me?” He chuckled, knowing you were nervous to ask him. “Hmm, well, I’ll have to think about it.” You pouted even more, but didn’t say anything, hearing the words your Daddy says echoing in your head “Bad girls don’t get spoiled. Good girls get nice things, and good girls don’t pout.” You sighed, laying back into him. “Okay Daddy. Thank you anyways.” After a few seconds, he said. “I thought about it. How does two kittens sound instead?” You shot up out of bed, so excited. “Oh Daddy! You’re the best!” You wrapped your hands around him and kissed his cheeks repeatedly. Charles hugged you back, however he knew it would be at least another hour until he got you to go to bed. This was gonna be a long night.

Scott Huffman- Lilo and Stitch

Your Daddy was a big government official, you knew that much but nothing more. You also knew he worked at a place named after a shape that you could never remember. Although you didn’t know much, you were still proud of your Daddy and his job. However, this didn’t stop you from getting suspicions. It all started when you were watching Lilo and Stitch for what seemed like the 400th time with your Daddy. Cobra Bubbles, although he said he was a social worker, he also worked with aliens. Maybe your Daddy was hiding something too. You turned around and looked at him with a skeptical look on your face. He was writing a report for the office while you watched and played with your finger paints, but you weren’t dumb. You were a smart girl, and you knew you would catch him red-handed. You got up and told your Daddy you were going to the bathroom, knowing you could handle it because you weren’t feeling extra small today. Scott nodded as he continued to type away on his computer. He sure was engrossed in whatever he was doing. As you pretended to go to the bathroom, you slowly snuck up behind him while he was sitting in his recliner. You stole a glimpse of what he was writing, seeing the numbers 626. You had him now. How could he not tell you he worked with aliens? You walked back in front of him, standing in the direct line of the TV as well. Your daddy looked up at you confused. “What is it pretty baby? You look upset.” You crossed your arms. “SO, Daddy, if that’s your REAL name. When were you gonna tell me you know where Stitch is?” Scott was utterly confused. “Angel, wh-” That’s when he realized what report number he was writing. He knew how to play this though. “Alright, you caught me. Now, what are you gonna do with me?” Scott said raising his hands. You thought for a moment, really pondering what you were going to do with him. That’s when you knew this was your chance. “I want ice cream for dinner.” He smiled, lowering his hands. “Deal.”

Mickey Henry- Finding Nemo/Finding Dory

Swimming, swimming, swimming. You felt like that’s all you ever did with your Daddy. Although you did love to swim, you also loved to stay home and watch Disney movies with him. Your Daddy loves to go out and be social as much as he possibly can, while you on the other hand just wanna stay home with him and cuddle all day long. You found a compromise with swimming, however. SInce your Daddy knew you loved to swim, he would always take you to his friend Christos’ house to swim in his pool. You went three times a week so your Daddy could still hang out with his friends while also keeping you in a safe environment. This also meant that for the other four days of the week, you got to stay home and cuddle, and sometimes if you were feeling adventurous you would choose to go to a museum or an aquarium for the day. Today was different though, you did not want to be at his friend's house. Although you got to swim, you were always swimming alone in the shallow end of the pool while your Daddy sat on some chairs and chatted away with his friends. You had had enough. “Daddy! I wan’ go home!” you pouted as you swam to the side of the pool he was sitting on. He motioned to his friends to give him a minute while he came up to you in the water. ‘What’s wrong guppy? Don’ wan’ be here anymore.” Mickey smiled as he picked you up from the water, always packing a second pair of clothes in case you got him wet (which you always did in some way or another). “Come here baby, you can watch nemo on my lap while I talk to my friends for a while. How does that sound?” Mickey asks while wrapping you up in your Winnie the Pooh towel. Although it wasn��t completely what you wanted, you kind of got your way. You nodded in agreement as your Daddy pulled out your headphones and his laptop to put on nemo for you. He also packed you some goldfish crackers and other snacks to hold you over until dinner, knowing full well you were always hungry after you swam. As you felt your Daddy’s warm chest on your back, you found yourself smiling. Even though you weren’t at your house, you were still home.

What is Posie and Carter’s relationship like? Are you still going to write when Iris told James about her having Posie and his reaction to it?

Posie is definitely closer with Story, but she does have a sweet relationship with Carter. Like when Dayton had his accident, a little six-year-old Posie was only talking to Carter. If ever James and Iris went on a couples vacation, Posie always stayed with Carter and Story. So in ways, she was their first child.

James Rogers Masterlist

James sits on an opposite couch from Iris, his hazel eyes looking over at his dad and Bucky, and Ransom beside Iris. She leans forward putting her hands on her knees, and gives him a big smile, “I’ve kinda been keeping something from you, Jamey.”

He grimaces, looking back at his dad, scared of what the love of his life could have been keeping from him, “Hey,” she whispers leaning closer to him to cup his cheek. “It’s not bad news. We just wanted you to have a clearer head.”

“Ris, I’m sorry.”

“You’re here with me, so I’m not,” she gives him a smile. Her eyes going glassy. “Remember when we were kids, and we’d play house? We’d name our babies? And then we got older and you’d come into my apartment and we’d really be serious about naming babies?”

“That’s all I ever wanted was to become your husband and father to your babies.”

“We got one of those boxes checked off,” James shakes his head no, looking back up at Steve. “She’s perfect and beautiful. She’s got your laugh, and your eyes.”

“She?” he pushes her hand off of him, throwing both his hands over his face.

“Iris, this may be too stressful,” Bucky takes a step closer to the couple, but James shakes his head no. Rubbing his hands roughly down his face, unable to stop his tears.

“Tell me more. Ris, what’s her name?”

“Posie Sarah Rogers,” he releases a sound between crying and laughing. “She’s so sweet. She loves watching home videos with you in them. Even gets excited at the sound of your voice.”

“No she doesn’t.”

“She does. Your mom and dad watch videos with her, too. Story tells her about you. Lucy has illustrated a little book for her. Aster sits with me and her watching videos. She knows you.”

“I wanna meet her,” both him and Iris turn to look at Bucky, who gives a small shake of his head. “I can’t…I can’t meet my daughter? Bucky, why?”

“You just found out about her,” Steve has to look away when James whispers out a please. “We brought you pictures of her, and videos.”

“It’s not the same,” James outbursts, and Ransom pulls Iris back on the couch, and further away from James. “I’m sorry. Ris, I didn’t mean. I just…she’s…ugh,” his fists hit at his head, repeating a round of I’m sorry.

“Jamey, soon. You’ll get to see her soon.”

“I have a daughter?”

“Yeah, Sarge, you’ve got a beautiful baby girl. You wanna look at me? Wanna continue our conversation or watch some videos of her?”

“Yeah, I wanna see her. You think she’ll know me?”

“Yeah, I do. We’ve made sure she knows your voice. And soon, she’ll know your touch.”
