Secret Life - Episode 4 'Secrets'

Welcome to week four!

As always, remember that the 'Re-rolled Tasks' section at the bottom of this post will be for any task that may not have been completed by choice (aka. secrets that were willingly handed in for a harder task, or secrets that had to be handed in for whatever reason), while whatever secret was the one intended to be completed will be listed in the main list. Just as a note, Smajor1995 wanted a harder task this week, so he did not actually look at his original task before willingly re-rolling it for a harder one—consequently, I've decided to still put his name on the 'Re-rolled Tasks' section just to keep track of who re-rolled alongside their original task, but obviously his original task cannot be listed so his note will just be blank. This will be the solution for any other situation like this that may arise for the rest of the season.

I'll note if anyone does not complete a task, while the colour of their names will also acknowledge which life they are currently on. I'm going to try and answer all of these but I can already tell that some of these are going to be difficult:

1. Favorite movie/show

I don't really watch movies out of my own volition and I'm like the one Tumblr user who doesn't watch TV shows (and my memory is bad, so I could also be forgetting something) so my options are very limited:

The FNAF movie (which was laughably terrible)

Stranger than Fiction (a 2006 movie that was just. not good. I didn't like it.)

Rio 2 (a kid sitting next to me for a substantial amount of time was watching it and I could hear the audio)

Out of those options I'd probably have to say the FNAF movie was my favorite because it was bad in a funny way and also recency bias.

2. Favorite Album

My music consumption is almost exclusively video game soundtracks and I haven't really found any games to love the soundtrack of recently anyways so

I can't think of any one piece of knowledge that stands out as my favorite. I'm just happy to know things tbh

4. Favorite Book/Comic

I read quite a few books (mostly the Warriors series, near the beginning of the year) but my favorite probably still has to be Love and Limerence by Dorothy Tennov. I reread it this year so it counts.

5. Favorite project I completed

Probably this ridiculous 14k word Wings of Fire fanfiction where the world ends tbh. It's kinda very rough, but I had a blast making it.

Probably the church I took those photos in tbh. I get that it's not that strange overall but it was for me

I can't think of any new food, but I did discover that French fries and (to an admittedly lesser degree) saltine crackers make surprisingly good additions to toppings and/or fillings.

10. Most memorable conversation

This one's memorable in a bad way.

Essentially, it was a conversation between myself and a friend about a Minecraft server we were on where said friend told me that I managed to piss off every single other member of the server. Of course I was a bit distraught about this, and I decided that I just wouldn't play on it anymore. Before that I was basically the most active member by far.

The reason I remember it so well is because I'm still so baffled about why what I did (kill the Ender Dragon on the first day of a new world (after rules regarding doing so were specifically abolished) and kill the Wither like a week later) enraged these people so much that they called for my friend to ban me (he didn't, btw).

11. Prettiest sunset

All of them. Unless I'm trying to go west and the sun is shining in my eyes.

You go over to your boyfriend ,Kenma’s, house every weekened to play on your shade survival minecraft world 

But one week you were too cramped to come over one week so you missed out on a gaming session 

At school the following week you heard Kuroo and the guys teasing Kenma over a new found gaming friend 

But you payed no attention

Now you’re done with your exams and ready to continue on w/ Kenma on fighting the enderdragon and building up your world

You get to Kenmas house an hour after finishing your school club, upon entering you hear him button smashing upstairs (per usual) but something not so usual was him giggling with laughter...

Kenma.Your stoic boyfriend Kenma. giggling..

Because of your confusion you slowly go up the stairs as his laughter ensues making you more perplexed ‘kenma barely talks to people that aren’t Kuroo and me, especially someone who makes him laugh this much’ you think to yourself.

“Ella, i’ve found the stronghold! Just follow me” Kenma exclaimed as you entered his bedroom “Yes Ella you have to press X to jump” he laughed again

‘Ella, who’s ella’ you think. You hear a response on the other end but you can make it out properly. Kenma and ‘Ella’ continue on speaking making plans on what they’re about to do next.. with Kenma not noticing you came into his room yet. You look at the TV and notice that Kenma is playing with someone else on YOUR world that you started which made you slightly agitated. 

You purposefully drop your bag a tad too aggressively, but that seems to work as you catch Kenmas attention as he turns to you for a split second as he mumbles quitely “Oh hey babe” before swiftly getting engrossed again into the game.

Annoyed, you sit on next to him on the bed waiting.. JUST WAITING for some proper acknowledgement to which you received none. You just sat there mindlessly scrolling through your phone as he continuously talked with Ella AND coached her through killing the ender dragon (a plan that you and Kenma said to do together since the beginning of your minecraft survival world idea)

After almost an hour of just sitting there idly, you decide to get up pick up your bag and leave. Hoping just hoping that your ‘oh-so great and caring’ boyfriend would take off his headset and stop you from leaving. But this isn’t a movie of course... so no Kenma did not run straight after you pull you into his arms and comfort you. He stayed in his room laughing away with Ella putting you at the back of his mind.

You go straight home and cry still wishing for a follow-up text on the incident that happened at Kenmas but no response there.

Luckily for you, it was half term break meaning there was no school for a couple weeks so you didn’t have to face the awkward confrontation or lack thereof with Kenma at school. But it was unlucky for you since usually every half term and weekend you’d spend at Kenmas but obviously now you can’t.

You do wonder if he’s thought about texting or calling you to reconcile or even just thought about you at all. You desperately wanted to reach out to him, but with your relationship you do feel that you’re the one that always has to start the conversation after you’ve had a ‘falling out.’ So all you do is wait ( assuming that you’ve broke up or something for now.)

The two weeks of break has ended and now you’re back at school waiting to face the music. The whole day, you felt anxious waiting to bump into him in the corridor or see him at lunch but you never did.

Later that day you get a message..

Kuroo: Hey y/n! How have you been ??

Y/N: Fine.. i guess

Kuroo: How are things with Kenma

Y/N: Tbh I don’t really know, we haven’t spoken since the weekend...two weeks ago I don’t think we’re together anymore..

Kuroo: Y/N don’t say that you and Kenma are definitley how do you spell deathfinetly? still together just meet him today at the arcade at 8pm and ALL WILL BE REVEALED 

Y/N: okay....

Kuroo: DW Y/N! It’ll all be fine

Nervous, you get changed (making sure to look extra cute because this may be the last time you’ll have the title of ‘Kenma’s Girlfriend’ :(( ) You arrive at the arcade and look around for a second before spotting Kenma at the race car game (where you had your first date) and it looks to you he is hiding something behind his back..

When you reached him he looked very shy (even more so then usual) and you were about to speak before he shouted

“Y/N!” he said cringing at the volume of his own voice “ I need to tell you something, more like show you..”

You stood before him with your arms crossed silently tapping your foot waiting on him to continue. Surprisingly, he brings in front of you a little girl who looked about 8 or 9 with a very very cute face.

“n-n-nice to meet you” she bowed in front of you a blush covering her face

“Y/N this is Ella” Kenma said “My new step-sister”

You were shocked to say the least Kenma having a new sister that was great but didn’t answer ALL your questions. Judging your facial expressions Kenma led you and him to sit down letting Ella go on play (as you obviously watch her close-by) 

“Okay, I know you’re probably confused but Ella is ma’s new boyfriends daughter and that time you came over my house was my first time ‘meeting’ her so instead of doing it physically I thought the best thing to do was to play minecraft with her and as I was so focused on that I kinda sorta forgot about our usual dates and over half term I went over to hyogo were Ella and her dad live for the break to meet them officially I’m sorry very very very sorry Y/N for not contacting you i just assumed you were mad at me ... which you still probably are now so i understand if you want to break up and i-” Kenma stops hearing you slightly chuckle looking exasperated after all that rambling. 

Thats the most you’ve ever heard Kenma speak in one go ever and you thought it was endearing that he has a new sister. Of course you were mad that your boyfriend that he neglected you for weeks but you were definitley over that and wanted to just continue on with your life with him.

Kenma stared at you expecting some form of response and all you did was stand up, go to him and pat his head. 

“You’re so cute kenma” you said “Of course I was mad, but i get it now”

“So are we still boyfr-”

“Miss Y/N” asked Ella looking up at you awww how cute “Are you and nii-chan boyfrined and girlfriend”

Kenma and Ella both stared at you expectedly waiting on your response (Kenma more than Ella)

“Of course he’s my boyfriend sweetie!” You said ruffling her head and you hear Kenma sigh in relief “Let’s go play some games now come one Kenma”

You hold Kenma’s hand as Ella runs ahead of you

“Also Kenma..” you let go of his hand “You let her play on our world..seriously”

Kenma awkwardly rubs the back of his neck and chuckles

“I’ll make it up to Y/N dont worry “ he said

And he did do that indeed, as it seems over the break he built a mansion for you and him and reset the end so you complete the ender dragon with him. But you did also include Ella in on your world now and you and her got closer to the point where she will call you nee-chan.

How Some MHA Boys Would Play MC with Their S/O

A/N: HEY GUYS! I was gonna post something like 2 days ago, but lost motivation, and now its in the drafts!! Still no motivation to write it, but I want to write this one since I’ve been playing w some friends recently hehe

Parings: Bakugou, Shouto, Hawks, Kaminari, Tamaki x Reader

Warnings: Cursing and fluff (literally all my warnings ugh)

Does NOT want to play with you at first

After you tell him that not even you can beat the Ender Dragon, he takes this as a challenge, and immediately downloads the game

When you first start the game, he is one to strategize on how to actually become good. Like he searches up what to do sometimes just to make sure he can be the strongest (he doesn't tell you though, to you, this all came from his own brain)

He literally never dies, like what the fu ck

When it comes time to build houses and bases, he builds super far away from you

Doesn’t share any of his materials either

“Suki, can I have some sugarcane? Pretty please?” 

“Go find some yourself dumbass” 

“But you have a ton of it!?! Can’t I just have a little?”

“No.” with ZERO hesitation 

When you aren’t online he’ll put some in your chest cause he feels a little bad for saying no

He actually finds and beats the Ender Dragon quite quickly, but what else do you expect from Bakugou? The most competitive person probably on  this earth?

After he beats the game, he probably won’t play it again

Agrees to play with you just because you seem so excited about it, and he is a WEAK man when it comes to your happiness 

Follows you around like a little puppy until you die in a cave and he has no idea what to do, cause you’re back in spawn, and he’s now alone

He offers to go back to you, but when you tell him to keep going, he has the BEST luck with finding diamonds

(Ok I’m gonna say it, but Torodoki is probably a SIMP for people that teach him how to deal with special emotions, so he’s mega simp for you uwu)

When he comes out of the cave, he offers to give you ALL of his findings, but you refuse to take all of it since he found all the diamonds n all that good stuff

He still gives it to you anyway, cause he’s not really playing this game for himself

He’s actually really good fighting wise, so when you’re building y'alls base, he’s on night watch for the bad guys

You guys live together of course (beds next to each other OhMyGosh) 

Probably tames a cat with heterochromia 

“Sho, its like you! Let’s tame it!!!” 

He tames it first try and names it “Todoroki #2”

Ender Dragon takes a while to beat, but you beat it nonetheless!!!!

He really only plays when you play, cause that’s the only reason why he plays lol

He already knows what it is, and he agrees when you ask him to play it, because he takes this as an opportunity to bully you (ofc all in good heart)

He doesn’t tell you he knows what it is though, so he tricks you into “teaching him how to play” just to waste your time

Once he gets tired of that act, he just starts to play it as a pro and you are just ?????

Hes super good at mining and building

Always comes out of caves with diamonds, and not just 1 or 2, but like 6 or 8

His base is SO COOL, boy oh boy, does this man know how to build

Ofc he has a pet parrot, and he names it “Parrots”

Bad thing is that he knows how to use red stone, so when you’re not online the only thing he does it set traps up all around your house

He feels bad that sometimes they actually do end up killing you, so he always lends you diamonds and whatever materials you need

He’s already beat the Ender Dragon, so he knows all the tricks on how to beat it (I’m like 90% convinced that he’s played it during his high school years) 

He’s on and off of the game, constantly starting new worlds since he finishes his others

He was the one to ask you to play with him

This boy wants to do everything with you, from mining, to farming, to building

When the two of you go mining, he’s the type to dig the gravel on top of him, and die cause he couldn't get out, which makes you need to stop whatever you’re doing to get his stuff

Makes you wait for him while he goes back down to the cave and then you guys can keep playing together

You both only have 1 base, and 1 house, because he doesn’t want to risk dying you dying from mobs

Both of you share your materials with each other, since you both go mining together it only feels natural to share 1 big storage area

“Kami why do we have 3 enchantment tables? We only needed one??”

“I made an oopsie earlier, now we only have 8, my bad!”

Pain.

The Ender Dragon is a CHALLENGE!! You both are pretty okay players, so beating it takes a lot of time

When you finally beat it, Kami probably puts the head on top of y’alls house, just to show how epic it is

He plays without you sometimes, but when you play without him he gets sad :(( (hypocrite much??)

He hesitantly accepts your invitation, but its only because he’s new at the game, and he doesn’t want you to see him be bad at it

He would probably play a lot when you aren’t online, then excitedly show you all the new materials he got while mining when you come back online

Swears he’ll protect you from any mobs that try to come your way while you build your shared base cause he’s not all that good at building

He doesn’t want to live alone, because he just likes sharing things with you

The more you two play the game together, the more bold he becomes with his skills

Turns out to be insanely good at mining and fighting so when you two go to caves together, he always seems to come out with more than you probably ever will

Tamaki is very good at thinking, that’s like his main thing, so everything he does went through a thorough thought process, which explains why he’s just so great

“Tama, I feel like you’ve played this game before.. there’s just no way you’re better than me when I’ve been playing it for years”

“Bun, what could I do to make you believe me?”

After a long debate, you settle on him giving you a diamond chest plate

The Ender Dragon is a HASSLE. Tama never actually ends up beating it, he just goes for moral support

He also is on and off with the game, only picking it up once every 3 months or so, but when he plays, HE PLAYS.

Another A/N: I hope u guys enjoyed it, I was so close to writing for 4 days in a row, but then my brain said “no <3″ and I lost all the motivation for 2 whole days!!!!! I’m back now, lets see how far I can go!!! Also might turn on requests, but I’d probably get like 2 LMAO

This is my first TommyInnit / Reader one-shot. Second POV and you play Cake-Wars with Tommy, Tubbo, and Wilbur.

[TommyInnit is Live]

You clicked on the notification from Twitch so fast you thought you broke your mouse. It was 4 pm in your hometown of Elkhart (1), Wisconsin. School had ended a few weeks before for the kids, including for you; your Junior year. You were to be a Senior next year, your last year of high school. Most everyone was outside enjoying the weather of mid-June, the warm sun lighting the fields where kids played and adults watched or played along. It seemed like everyone was outside enjoying the sun. Except you.

You were in your room, watching a live video from one of your comfort streamers; TommyInnit. The 17-year-old British blonde from the UK. Like most, you never had any bad days when you watched his streams. Whenever you did have a bad day, it seemed like one of your comfort streamers knew and hit that "Go live" button. 

Tommy was playing Minecraft with a couple of his friends - a couple of your comfort streamers - WilburSoot and Tubbo. They had just started a new survival world, to see who could speed run the quickest. 

The chat on the side of the screen exploded with their answers. A lot said Tommy, others said Tubbo, and a fair amount said, Wilbur. You thought they were all very good at the game but considered it was down to either Wilbur or Tommy. Wilbur was the calmest about it, being quick but also taking his time. Tommy was a ball of chaotic fury; trying to be quick but stressing about beating the game.

"Wha- How the fok does Will already have diamonds?" Tommy screamed, trying to get his character to mine the iron in front of him. You smiled at the screen as he joined Wilbur's voice channel to yell at him.

"Well, Tommy. You just- you just gotta get good at the game." Wilbur's voice said through Discord. 

Tommy leaned back, his mic quieting the sound of him groaning in annoyance, "Ughh, fok off, you little- you know what?". He left Wilbur's voice channel and went to Tubbo's. 

"Tommy?" Tubbo's small voice echoed through the channel.

"I say we team up against Will." Tommy started, making his character jump out of the cave and mine more spruce wood from the mountain he was on, "Look- he's already got diamonds m'kay, let's work together." 

It took a second to hear Tubbo's reply. "...okay?"

"Great. Do you have any iron?"

As they all continued to play, you left to use the bathroom and grab snacks. On your way down the stairs, you rubbed the warm back of your black and white kitten (2) that was sitting on the windowsill. Once out of the bathroom, you check the kitchen cupboards for any snacks.

You found a bag full of fruit candies, caramel suckers, and some off-brand chocolate bars. They were technically your fathers, but he wouldn't notice if some were gone. You grabbed a handful of each and a can of Coca-Cola that was in the fridge. You then ran back, your kitten following up the stairs. 

Once you were seated, you continued to watch the stream with your kitten purring in your lap. Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo were all trying to fight blazes in the Nether. Tommy already had 4 blaze rods, while Tubbo had 1. 

"Tubbo, kill that blaze-" he then screamed in fright as his character caught on fire, "Foook! There's one behind. Dammit Tubbo." he then laughed as Tubbo also screamed in fright.

You laughed as you turned to your second monitor and loaded up Minecraft. Your computer loaded it up fairly quickly, given that you were also watching the stream that took a ton of internet to watch. Given that, you decide to play CakeWars. As you joined the round, you looked at the stream as all three made it to the end. 

They all teamed up and were trying to fight the endermen and the ender dragon. Your attention was on your own game that you didn’t realize they had killed the ender dragon and were now declaring victory. Tommy took all the credit as Wilbur laughed. Tubbo giggled and then hit Tommy’s in-game character with his own. 

With that, they decided to play servers. More specifically, the same server you were going to play CakeWars in next. You failed to notice when your screen flashed with the red lettering, “Your cake has been eaten.” 

"Dammit!"

Your teammates tried their hardest to stay alive, but unfortunately, the Yellow team was stronger with their armor and weapons. As you tried to run away, one threw an ender pearl and teleported in front of you.

Using your iron sword, you tried to defend yourself, but their diamond enchanted sword dealt more damage to your leather and iron armor; you died after a couple of hits. You groaned in frustration as you quickly hit "new game". Your kitten got up and sat by your monitor, staring at the loading screen before you pushed him toward his bed.

"Hopefully my teammates are better next round." 

You joined a new game, too focused on that to see that you were on the same server as Tommy, Wilbur, and Tubbo. The game started saying that you were part of the blue team. You looked over at your teammates and read their names. It took you a second until you recognized Tommy's skin and the name "TommyInnit" over his head. "Oh, my god." You looked at your other monitor and saw that Tommy was looking at your character (3). 

"Hello, [Your Username]." His character punched toward you and crouched a couple of times. 

"Hi!" Tubbo's character punched toward you too. 

You crouched back, punching at all three. Wilbur nodded up and down, crouching all the same. You typed into the in-game chat and typed only to your team. "I'm honestly kinda freaking out right now, ngl."

Tommy read it out loud before laughing, "Oh, there's nothing to be afraid of. I see you're a woman- you all know how much I love women." 

You heard Wilbur sigh and Tubbo laughed from the stream as you replied with, "Yes, Tommy, we know how much you love women XD."

He read it out loud and laughed, "I like this one. Hey, [Your Username], do you have a discord?"

Your hands began to shake and get clammy as you read it over a couple of times. As you collected your bricks to upgrade, you typed, "We win and I'll give it to you."

Tommy ran over to the villager selling things for bricks as he read it, "Okay, guys, we need to win. If we do, I'll talk to a girl!" 

That made you laugh, as you covered your cake with endstone and blue wool. The chat on the side of the screen exploded with "Women POG", "TommyInnit talks to a woman???", and - your personal favorite - "Tommy simps over a probably 6-year-old". You laugh out loud as a dono pops up, talking in a robotic voice. 

"Tommy, that could possibly be a young girl. Maybe you shouldn't hit on her?" 

Tommy stumbled over his words as Wilbur and Tubbo laughed and agreed. To save him, you type, "Don't worry chat, I'm 17, thanks for looking out for me though X'D". 

As the game progressed, your team had two emerald points, endstone, obsidian, and blue wool covering your cake, and all members decked in diamond armor and a diamond sword. The other three teams were fighting each other as your team collected and planned your attack. Tommy and Wilbur were going to attack the middle point while you and Tubbo guarded your cake. 

They set off as you and Tubbo collected the bricks and emeralds beside your cake. The two of you just crouched and punched at one another until they came back. Tubbo continued to laugh on stream and Tommy questioned what was going on.

"Me and [Your Username] are just crouching at one another," Tubbo responded, laughing as you jumped and punched at him. 

As you leaned back and closed your eyes laughing, you heard footsteps in your headset and quickly grabbed your mouse. A red member in full leather and an iron sword was running toward your cake. You appeared in front of him as Tubbo finally realized and screamed quietly. In a couple of hits, he died, barely taking away three of your hearts.  

"Tubbo? Tubbo, what happened?" Tommy asked, panic in his voice. 

"There was a red team member attacking our cake. But [Your Username] attacked 'em." Tubbo explained as they got back to their island.

Wilbur came up and jumped in your face, punching at you, "Good job, [Your Username]"

"Thanks." You typed, then another message, "I have a feeling we're gonna win this, but I don't wanna jinx."

You heard Wilbur laugh, "Don't worry. Let's just let the other teams fight and then join later." 

"Yeah, we can sweep up what's left of them!" Tubbo agreed. 

You nodded in-game, collecting the nether stars below you. As soon as you reached 10, you upgraded your resources. You also wanted to get protection but then the green team had taken the middle point. 

"Here you go [Your Username]" You heard Tubbo say through the stream. You crouch in response as a cluster of nether stars were thrown at you. 

Soon after, Wilbur and Tommy did as well. "Let's be honest, [Your Username] is more responsible - other than me, of course," Tommy said.

"Then why don't you take them?" You typed into game chat, challenging the blonde.

The other two laughed as Tommy stood in front of you crouching, "Okay, fine. Given 'em back bitch." 

"Because you called me a b****, I'mma keep them." You said, walking over to your ender chest and putting them inside. You looked at Tommy and crouched once before covering your cake with more wool. 

"Way to go, Tommy, you made her mad," Wilbur said, crouching, having his back to you. 

You laughed once more, falling back into your seat before typing, "I'm not mad, just playing." You retrieved all 12 of the nether stars and upgraded your protection twice. 

As you turned around, you saw a green member - decked in diamond armor - bridging toward your island. You race to the edge and crouch, punching in their direction. They looked up and punched at you, as three more green members also in diamond armor appeared behind him. 

Tubbo alerted the other two and they all crouched at the edge, sword in hand. You clicked on your bow and shot an arrow at the first player. The ringing of a hit echoed through your headset as one got hit back. 

The one you hit looked back up before his teammates switched to ender pearls. You back up, guarding your cake as you watch the green eye fly through the air. 

You ignored the screams of the others on stream as you focused on one green member. They turned as you hit them a couple of times in the back. As they took off around your island, you ate a golden apple and chased after them, cutting them off and landing another blow. 

They turned and tried to hit you, but didn't realize how close they were to the edge and fell. You turned your head to see your teammates fighting off the rest of them. Tubbo was losing a fight by a player who was continuously eating apples. You ran over to him and hit him. Distracted, he tried to fight you but Tubbo's blade had killed him. 

"Thanks [Your Username]!" You heard Tubbo say as Tommy stopped screaming. The rest of green had fled or died. Wilbur had said nothing during that all while Tommy's mouth never seemed to shut. But you've been watching Tommy for so long, it didn't bother you; if anything, it made you laugh as you fought. 

Wilbur's voice echoed through the stream, "Everyone good?" 

Tubbo and Tommy said "Yes", while you nodded in-game. Your cake was never harmed, so you didn't need to rebuild. All your teammates were fine, other than Tubbo was missing more than half of his hearts. 

You all collected emeralds that were still popping out from the ground. Everyone was stocking up on ender pearls and golden apples, roughly a stack of blue wool and arrows. As you closed out of the menu, you heard the sound of breaking blocks as the game said, "Everyone's cake has been eaten." 

Tommy gathered you all around and said some "inspiring" words, "It's just 3 Red, 2 Green, 2 Yellow, and us left. We are the largest, therefore, we should be able to win this. Besides, we are probably the best PVP-ers in the whole match." 

"Don't get too cocky, Tommy." You typed to them, crouching and uncrouching once. 

Tommy laughed and then shrugged on camera, "Well, he's always cocky." Wilbur’s response came through. 

"Hey, you fooking- never mind. Let's attack yellow, they're closest." Tommy said, before turning back to you and Tubbo.

You nod as he led the three of you down the one-block road and to the middle point. One yellow member in iron armor was trying to capture the point from red but panicked when they saw you coming. You ender pearled in front of them and started your attack. They got distracted with you that they couldn't fight off Wilbur from behind. 

"Let's goooo!" Wilbur yelled, running down the three-block path to Yellow's island. The last person panicked when they saw the charging diamond armor and tried to ender pearl away. But the ender pearl hit the side of an island and they fell to their death. 

"Now I feel bad." You quickly typed into game chat. 

"Nah, there's nothing to feel bad about, it happens," Tommy responded to your message. "Now, let's attack Green." 

The four of you charged forward as Red and Green were fighting. Tubbo yelled out and you all stopped. "Let's wait to see how this plays out." He said as you agreed. 

For the next few minutes, you watched as the red team shot at Green as they tried to bridge across. You kept looking around, always cautious if another player tried to scare you. 

A green player got knocked off their bridge and the other was attacked by a red who threw an ender pearl. "Okay, [Your Username], shoot at them to get their attention. You guys ready?" 

Once everyone said they were, you looked down and started building up while crouching. As soon as you got about 8 blocks high, you selected your bow and aimed at the nearest red. You heard the ringing of the bell as the arrow hit them. They all turned to look at you as you started to dig down. An arrow whizzed past your ear as another hit you, making your character fall 6 blocks. 

Your teammates all stood in front of you as the red team came charging. Eating one of your many golden apples, you started to regain health. 

Wilbur fought one Red member with an enchanted diamond sword and enchanted diamond armor. Tommy attacked one member in full enchanted diamond armor and sword, who was building up, which reminded you of Fortnite building. Tubbo and you attacked the last one you was full enchanted diamond armor and sword. Your team had protection 2, but no sharpness on your swords. 

All the sounds around you were swords swinging, characters jumping back from being hit, and Tommy's screaming coming from the stream. You hit the Red member repeatedly, while Tubbo stood back to heal. 

You were down to about 6 hearts, your armor protecting most of your body. Trying to get away quickly, you started to build up; you were dangerously close to the edge. Making sure your character was okay, you started to shoot arrows from above. 

However, you didn't see the Red member who was fighting Tommy ender pearl up and shoot an arrow at you. "[Your Username]! Look out!" Tommy yelled as you were hit. 

Your character fell off the pillar and down toward the abyss. Having only a second to react, you quickly hit your ender pearls and threw one at the pillar. It connected and you teleported. You quickly placed a block underneath you, surviving with 3 hearts. 

"Ohhh! Oh my god!" You screamed as you ate two golden apples. "Holy shit!" 

As you hit 8 hearts, you joined the battle. Tommy was on 2 hearts and was being chased. You ender pearled behind him and attacked the Red member. Tommy must have had gotten him low because you hit him with two swings and he was dead. Tommy stopped running and saw you. "You're alive??" He seemed shocked. 

You crouched a couple of times, nodding. "You gotta tell me how later."

You nod once and turn to help your friends. As you returned with Tommy behind you, you saw that Wilbur was fighting one off and the other had just knocked Tubbo off the edge. You heard him scream as he fell. 

The red member saw you and quickly ate a golden apple as you charged him. You managed to hit him a couple of times in a row and his character got punched off the edge. At the same time, Wilbur had just killed the last Red member. 

You heard the "Let's goooo!" from the stream and jumped up and down. 

You quickly pulled up discord and got your information before pulling up Instagram on your phone. You found Tommy and opened a chat, sending him your discord. All you had to do was wait for him to open it. 

You also added next to the link, "Wait till after stream." 

As a new game was 20 seconds from starting, you realized that Tommy was talking to you. He wanted you to join another game with them. Of course, you agreed and you all selected the green team.

A couple of hours went past and it was getting later and later. The sky outside darkened and you heard your parents coming home from work. You were an only child, so no siblings were trashing the house with their stuff. 

Your kitten kept sitting in front of your screen, watching the particles in-game. You accidentally let the yellow team eat your cake and then died trying to defend it. Wilbur has just died as Tommy and Tubbo ran for their lives. 

But unfortunately, they had to succumb to defeat and Tommy had to end the stream. As he said his goodbyes to chat, you closed out of the stream and stared at your phone. You waited for it to go off, but it didn't. Not until then minutes after. 

When it eventually did, you were on your PC playing Overwatch. The match had just ended, so you checked. It was a discord text from TommyInnit.

You calmed your inner panic before opening your phone. You accepted his buddy request with no hesitation. Another message went off and it had one single word. "Call?" 

At that very moment, you heard your mother shout out to you. You turned back to your phone before responding with, "Yeah, sure, just give me a minute."

Your mother wanted you to eat dinner; which was macaroni and cheese with chicken nuggets (4). You took a plate to your room and set it down on your desk, watching your cat. He seemed to ignore you but you knew he was waiting for a moment when you're not looking. 

You opened your phone and typed in your chat that you were back. Almost a second after you sent it, you were getting a call from Tommy. You accepted the call and said, "Hello?"

"Okay, well, hi- sorry, I really want to ask. How the fuck did you pull off that bow and arrow kill earlier?" You heard his voice on the other end. He seemed nervous but also knew exactly what he wanted to say.

You laughed, "Well, I've always been good at archery. On video games, of course, not so much in real life." 

"Hm, archery. That should be my next vlog- but anyway! How did you survive that first round? I saw you fall. Was it lag?" 

"Nope, I had ender pearls. I just used one quickly. To be honest, I was as surprised as you were. I was not expecting it to work." You responded as you picked up your cat who was trying to sneak over to your food. 

As the two of you talked, a smile never left your face. You two laughed like you were old friends greeting each other for the first time in years. You kept battling your kitten, which entertained Tommy. You talked until it was 9 pm in America. You previously found out from school that it was a 5-hour difference between the US and Great Britain.

"Wait, wait, wait, Tommy? Isn't it like 2 in the morning for you right now?" You asked after he hummed. 

"Uhh, no- wait, yeah, yep, yep, it is. That explains why I'm so tired-" he started laughing which in turn, made you laugh.

You nodded, although he couldn't see you, "Yeah, you yawning is making me tired." 

"Oh, I'm sorry, well, it was nice meeting you [Your Name], and um, maybe we can play sometime soon." You heard him say.

"Yeah, it would be fun.” You said, “I would love to play some more sometime. I’m sure you can find time in that “Busy schedule” of yours.” 

You heard Tommy laugh from the other end, “Well, I mean, I’m not that busy. But we’ll see. Don’t tell anyone, but more vlogs are coming soon, so, I’m pretty busy this week.”

he never got the hype

but he’s a sucker for you so he said he’ll only try it “for a few minutes”

you two ended up playing for 4 hours

you had to explain a lot of things to him

guess who fought off the mobs when night fell? hint: it was you.

he probably accidentally hit you a lot when trying to play

wants to start a new world whenever he dies

when you finally manage to establish a base, you literally sigh because it took soooo long

tsuki basically turned vanilla minecraft into educational edition

"if you build eight units that way, and I build six units that way— ”

“units??? tsuki you can just call them blocks.”

“yeah, yeah whatever,” tsukishima waved you off from where he sat at his bedroom desk.

so you two went through with tsukishima’s plan and finally, you had a shelter. you let out a breath of relief and allowed yourself to fall back onto his bed before gluing your eyes back to your phone screen. you placed down some torches, a crafting table, a furnace, some chests–the base essentials. when it came to the beds (you had both of your beds because you didn’t trust tsukishima’s in his inventory since he died so much), you placed them right next to each other.

you laughed to yourself at your witty sense of humor. tsukishima suspiciously side-glanced at you and you put your phone down temporarily to touch your two pointer fingers together.

“what if we keep our minecraft beds next to each other? ah hah hah, jkjk... unless?”

tsukishima just gave you a look, definitely a judging look, “what are you doing?”

dejected, you immediately sighed and dropped your hands, sulking that he didn’t get your reference as you picked your phone back up, “you’ll get it soon enough.”

“okay...?”

you both put your characters to sleep, with you still being giddy in your head that your minecraft beds were still next to each other.

“ugh, finally. i think I'm done for today, too,” says tsukishima. he sets down his phone and stretches.

“do you want to play again tomorrow?” you quickly ask.

“tomorrow? again?”

“well, yes... please?” 

‘curse you and your cute pouty face,’ he thinks to himself as you try to persuade him with your bottom lip jutted out.

“... fine, but change the setting so that those blocky enemies stop bothering us.”

he’s definitely played with tanaka and noya before, so you’re all set to start playing the rest of the day away!

his inventory end up so messy it takes a moment to find whatever he’s looking for

like, have you ever seen that one meme of that horrendous hotbar? yeah that kind of vibe

sometimes he forgets to make his character eat something until he’s literally losing HP

“wait what? what’s hitting me? y/n is that you? there’s no enemies around...”

“what’s your hunger bar at?”

“... oh, hehe”

other than that, you work together as a great team

he’s not that bad at combat, he’ll make sure yall have enough food and resources...

the ambience sounds scare him sometimes

you know, the sounds that go ‘eeEEEOUUH’

if he hears any rattling of bones, undead groans, or hisses of a green ticking bomb ready to go off rIGHT AROUND THE CORNER—

he’s running to find wherever your character is right away to feel safer

but after all the effort, you two get so excited about finding diamonds! omg the cutest bonding moment ever

“maybe we’re not deep enough,” you sigh.

“but there’s lava? aren’t diamonds usually near lava?” hinata sighs back.

the search for diamods is nearing a real-world hour yet both of you are still empty-handed. you branch off to a little molten orange puddle and start mining around its perimeter. alas, still nothi—

“Y/N! COME HERE COME HERE I THINK I FOUND ONE!” hinata yells and your character immediately darts to find his.

you move the screen’s line of vision and then you see it: that gorgeous diamond blue, with hinata’s character jumping for joy beside it.

finding diamonds in this game never gets old.

“AHHH!! SHOYO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? MINE IT!” you yell back. the smiles on your faces grow bigger and bigger for every blue gem hinata manages to get from the small bunch of blocks in the cave wall.

“eight! i got eight!” he announces.

you clutch your phone in your hands, satisfaction running through your veins, “that’s enough for a sword for the both of us! and a pickaxe!”

the both of you put down your phones for a moment to give each other a high five. it was a solid high five, too— you two were feeling ecstatic!

“do you think there’s more around here?” you ask. your voice resonated pure delight and excitement and hinata’s response reciprocated nothing but.

“maybe! let’s go find out!”

he’s played a couple of times, but the times he played his “friends” just griefed his world to death

but lev trusts you, and he finds minecraft genuinely entertaining besides the fact, so yes, he will play with you

he makes you stop and look at how pretty minecraft’s sunsets and sunrises and basically the whole environment is

you two name all of your animals

“who should i shear? willy or maria?”

“greggory hasn’t been sheared for a few days, maybe he feels left out :(((”

“you’re right maybe he does :(((”

he’ll laugh like so much when you two get out of a fight with a skeleton so the arrows all over you are sticking out and “they make you look like a porcupine!!”

frames all “firsts” i.e. first notch apple, first diamond, first emerald, first enderpearl rest in peace all the cows that get killed to make those item frames

wasn’t really aware of the nether or the end so he’s very excited to make it there with you!

very helpful 2nd player and you two get there in no time!

but whenever you get there, the atmospheres of the nether and the end catch him off guard since the overworld is so like.... chill

then it’s like you get there, and a ghast is over here like ‘scrREEEEEEEEE’

you both know you’ve got each other’s backs though!

you two stare at the activated end portal in front of you, lava bubling beneath it, equipped to the brim. you always wondered why that lava was there.

“okay, ready?” you ask lev. you look up and he gives you a determined nod.

“let’s go wreck that ender dragon!”

and with that, you two jump in and your screens say the terrain is being loaded. then there you are, in the end—a snotty beige island of rock in the middle of a purple void.

“cool, huh?” you ask lev, but his eyes are only wide and focused on the screen. it was a whole new world to him. literally.

you go through the normal end procedure, finding your way to where all the enderman are walking around. it takes a little while but soon you’re surrounded in a crowd of the lanky mobs.

“THERE’S SO MANY OF THEM?” screams lev, who has only seen a few in the course you two have been playing that night.

“because this is their home, lev—”

“WHY ARE THEY ALL SO TALL,” he shrieks.

you can’t help but snicker, “now you know what it feels like hanging around you—”

suddenly, you hear the roar.

kenma first got him to play minecraft yeaaaars ago, no surprise there

when he plays now, he’s usually on servers a lot

if you ask to play minecraft with him he’d probably suggest going onto a server like hypixel or the hive first and foremost

if you also like playing on servers, you’ll soon find out he’s a pvp king  ahh scary 

i’ll be damned if he doesn’t have those og minecraft pro gamer boy skins– you know the ones, you know what i’m talking about, i know you do

but, if you just want to make a world with him, first he’ll be so soft inside thinking about you two having a minecraft world all of your own

second, he’ll yell “OF COURSE Y/N!” 

he tries really hard to tame cats if you ever come by them and gets super happy when he succeeds

he probably will tame a horse and dog too tho but that’s not relevant at the moment–

prefers strip mining than going through cave systems

calls gold “butter”  he was a skydoesminecraft fan i’m convinced he was 

ends up finding emerald before diamonds and you both get completely perplexed on how or why

hates silverfish with every fiber of his being

“GODDAMMIT!” kuro yells as silverfish slithered and spread out from the stone black he had just broken.

“what? what happened?” you ask him, your eyes not leaving your screen. you run your character through the winding stronghold you two have stumbled upon in the last hour of strip mining.

and then you see them: silverfish.

“AH!” you yelp as before you know it, the little things are going after you, too.

you and kuro start aggressively tapping your screens trying to get rid of the small pests on-screen, annoyingly hissing and wiggling around. there was much at stake, since your spawn point was god knows how far and kuroo had some precious diamonds and emeralds in his inventory. you were sure you wouldn’t be able to save it all either, having some pretty good loot already filling up your own inventory.

with only a few hearts left each, all the silverfish manage to be killed, rising up into the air as puffs of pixelated smoke.

“that was,” you sigh with a low laugh, “thrilling.”

“why are those things even in the game? all they’re good at is being annoying anyway,” kuro shakes his head grumbles while healing up his HP. you’re pretty sure he doesn’t realize it, but he’s cutely pouting as he makes his character drink a potion of healing. he’s acting like a little kid.

“okay, mister. after you’re done with your little hissy fit, let’s head back up to the surface!”

warning though, he isn’t against griefing

but he likes you, so you get a pass

but don’t be suprised if you find the gate to your sheep pen “accidentally” left open, or your crops “happen to” get trampled over

he doesn’t spare you his little troublemaking antics

but you like him, so he gets a pass

ok but his favorite wood is aca— sorry, acaci— guys i can’t even say it—

his favorite wood is ac*cia because “y/n, it matches my hair!”

i mean the man’s not wrong there, but still,

he prefers having donkeys as his steed instead of horses

he builds little novelties and small machines around your base, like cobblestone generators

or a minecart with a sheep in it that goes around a neverending track next to the nether portal

but the details aren’t all that important to discuss, right?

“tendo, why is there a horse bouncing up and down from that fence post in the air?” you ask. your character is standing still in front of the contraption, just looking up at the... thing. just, staring.

shortly, satori has his character join you and he stifles a little laugh, finding what he made a few minutes ago as funny as when he left it.

“oh, y’know. because it’s forever just bouncing around there like that,” he shrugs.

“did you seriously have us get a lead for that?”

“of course i did.”

“did you really have to put it there?”

“yeah—”

“OVER A LAKE?”

he hasn’t been able to play minecraft for a while, so he gladly installs it on his phone to play with you.

doesn’t like using violence that much, even if for mobs and bosses

with this mindset, it means he always goes mining immediately in a new world so he can find iron for shears. 

he doesn’t want to kill any sheep to make you two beds in order to sleep through the mob-filled night.

the base he ends up building for the two of you is cute and has literal 8-bit cottage core vibes with the all game’s flowers planted around the place

he thinks the flowers that have come with the newer updates are fascinating and on top of that, spawn was in the middle of a flower forest

he got caught off guard by the bees though

“they put in bees but there still isn’t a cave update?”

makes a farm so you two don’t have to kill animals for food

if you get a brewing stand, he is full-on the potion and builder type player

replants the crops he harvests from villager farms if you happen to cross by one earlier on in-game

if it comes down to it, he will not hesitate fighting off the mobs for you

also will not hesitate to drop some food for you if you forgot to bring enough

very chill minecraft session, arguably one of the best kinds of minecraft sessions!

you two are comfortably lounging on the couch opposite of each other. you can barely sit still from the excitement of getting to play the best game ever your favorite game with sugawara.

“y/n, i’ve played a few times, but i’m far from what’s probably considered ‘good’,” sugawara admitted as you loaded up the world.

“suga, minecraft with you will be fine whether we’re playing like pros or beginners!” you reassure him.

“i guess,” he replies with a shy smile, “you might have to teach me the ropes of the newer things, though.”

“of course i will!” you almost shout back, very determined to have good-hearted fun with suga with nothing but good vibes.

the world finally generates on your screen and you’re in the middle of a bunch of flowers. you could never deny that although it was just pixels, it was truly so very pretty. besides that, your eyes were locked onto your phone, anticipating sugawara arrival. you’re pleased to see his character pop into the environment.

“okay! let’s get some wood, then we can start mining!” you say, uncontrollably smiling up at sugawara. he smiles back and soon you two fall into a comfortable silence as you gather resources.

after a few minutes, you see his character run up to yours. confused, you stop moving your character but then a flower of the valley is dropped in between your characters. you can’t help but ‘awwwe’ out loud and sugawara lightly laughs because of that,

“i don’t remember these being in the game, but i thought you’d like it. it’s pretty, like you..”

“AWWWWWWEEE”

he doesn’t play many video games, but he knows how much you love this block game so he complies if you ask him nicely

it takes a bit for you to teach him what he needs to know, but soon you find it’s really fun playing with kageyama!

he does get pretty mad when he dies though........ ok but it’s funny

enderman and baby zombies make him angry as fuck

accidentally hits pigmen in the nether but still tries to fend them off

he inevitably fails and gets mad

it’s still funny

has one of those houses where you can see the different layers of just the crap blocks he didn’t need anymore that he used to build it

always wants to tame a dog as soon as possible when you told him he was able to do that

likes mining the most, but sometimes you two get lost

it’s been about half an hour when you and kageyama find yourselves lost in a minecraft cave. the torches you two had been placing weren’t doing you any favors, as none of them signalled any kind of distinct path back up to the overworld.

“maybe this way?” you suggest for the upteenth time.

kageyama shook his head, his expression blatantly frustrated, “let’s just dig up. we’re never going to find are way out like this.”

“but kageyama, ‘don’t dig straight up or down’! that’s literally one of the most important rules in minecraft, we went over this!” you whined to try and stop him. you had the urge to just punch his character.

“that’s a stupid rule then, because how else are we going to get out of here?” kageyama just shoots back at you. you really wanted to act on that urge now. curse his stubbornness.

as you predicted, those ended up being his famous last words, because after breaking a few blocks above him kageyama was greeted by the molten orange glow of pixelated lava.

“shitshitshitshitshitshit—” kageyama panicked as the slowly cascaded down.

you watched in twisted satisfaction as his character ran around trying to distinguish the fire that spread on him. eventually, you took out the water bucket saved in your inventory and put him out.

“the rules aren’t so stupid now, are they.”

“HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THERE WAS GOING TO BE LAVA RIGHT THERE?”

when you asked him if he wanted to spend the afternoon playing minecraft, he may not have looked like it when he calmly said “sure,” but he was happy as hell!

he finds diamonds effortlessly and concerningly quickly when you start up a world, he even has the coordinates for finding diamonds memorized

also has the most efficient way to reach the ender dragon memorized

you find out he’s a good builder too

he even kind of gets redstone, which is impressive in itself

while chatting a bit as you’re absentmindedly mining for resources, you find out he had all the guide books  ugh yes gotta love our gamer boyfriend 

on servers, mc hunger games made him nervous :((((

bedwars tho? AHAHAH WATCH OUT he does the thing where he builds from really up high then drops a bunch of tnt on you then drops down to destroy your bed  sly mf 

hints at wanting to play a build battle game with you in the future

“kenma! look at the greenhouse i made! we can grow crops and stuff now,” you tug a little at his shirt sleeve to get his attention. he hums and briefly side-glances at your phone before having his character move so he can see it on his screen for himself.

you look back at your own screen and his character is circling the small structure filled with crops and flowers. you hope he likes it. he built a great base for you two so fast, before the sun even went down in-game, and seemingly with such ease. it was the least you could do to repay him, albeit your skills definitely aren’t as honed as his.

“it looks good, y/n,” he says after a moment that felt like forever. you let out a breath you weren’t even aware you were holding. he continues crafting tools and armor inside your main base while you sit there next to him for a second, giddy from just that small compliment.

“really?” you ask, a big smile on your face. it ended up being more of a hypothetical question since he didn’t respond, focused on making his supplies. but you could see the small smile on his face.

“... maybe we can compare our building skills sometime,” kenma suddenly adds.

you gasp, “kENMA DO YOU MEAN,,, A BUILD BATTLE?!”

kenma lightly laughs, the sound making your heart do somersaults, “yeah, that.”

“where did that one even come from?? we’re in the middle of a fucking pond????”

he’s enamoured by your building skills

“i can... build a wall.. around our base? will that help?”

oh, and he didn’t know hitting an iron golem makes them mad

“PFFFT,” you were dying. no, not as in your HP was running low, you were just laughing at akaashi.

“Y/N? AREN’T YOU GOING TO HELP ME?” akaashi shouted as his character sprinted across the grassy plain. the iron golem ‘clunk, clunk, clunk’-ed with its big arms waving about as it chased after akaashi’s poor character.

“and what? put myself in danger? no! that thing will beat me to a pulp and i can not afford that!” you argue. akaashi can only let out a distressed whine in protest as he tries to swim across a river to escape the golem.

“haha! can’t catch me now... oh shit-”

the iron golem swims across.

was definitely self conscious about his minecraft abilities

you tell him it’s fine but soon you learn he has some... quirks.

will enchant everything to make up for the fact it’s not diamond

when he first heard of herobrine he legit got scared and the other boys definitely clowned him for it

his favorite music disc is strad and you have to try and get it for him because he doesn’t know how to get the discs by himself

what did tooru just get you into?

you moved your character outside of the base to see the big bad wither flying overhead. the three-headed enemy begins to launch its explosove heads at everything in its path. items flew out of chests, small dirt and wood blocks lay helplessly on the ground, and both you and tooru are yelling from excitement, hysteria, and fear all mixed into one.

ah, the gifts minecraft brings to everyday life.

you end up luring it away to the nearby forest, but you realize quickly that you are way under-equipped for this boss battle. you and tooru both try your best, but you expectedly end up staring at red phone screens sporting a passive ‘you died’.

silence.

“are you mad at me, y/n?” toru asks and you can hear the guilt in his voice. you feel like throwing a nearby pillow at him, yet that tone he speaks in absolutely shoots through your little heart like a minecraft skeleton’s arrow.

you take a deep breath, “no, i’m not mad at you toru. we can always try again another time. but please listen to me next time.”

“i will! you call the shots for now on, as long as it keeps us from dying!” he laughed, and you couldn’t help but join him after the hectic experience you two just shared.

Mammon did it he and the rest of the Pokémon team beat the Elite Four and the champion!

Below the cut is a summary of the battles for anyone who was interested in this Pidgeot and his friends.  Since I talked about it (and because I’m pretty proud of accomplishing it) I thought it would only be fair to not leave anyone in the dark lol (and to brag I get bragging rights).

It was fun to do this, so maybe I’ll do another Obey Me-themed challenge run more publicly one day.  For now, this is no longer on my mind and I’ll probably get the next request out later today :)

First up, a recap of the challenge rules, so you know why some of my movesets are abysmal.

A Pokémon can only use its level up moveset.  TMs and HMs are not allowed.

When a Pokémon wants to learn a new move, I HAVE to accept it, and I HAVE to replace the oldest move.

I obviously need HMs, but I can't use those Pokémon in battle (shoutout to Simeon the Lapras, Barbatos the Beedrill, and unnamed Doduo for those roles.)

Next, the team!

Solomon (Lv 60 Kadabra): His only attacking move is Psychic, but as you either know or will soon come to know, a good psychic type is essential to beating this game.  Solomon almost got boxed because for a while he had zero attacking moves, but luckily for him Psychic is good enough that I switch-trained him up to it.

Asmo (Lv 55 Golbat): My girl carried me through most of this game, but unfortunately I think she's going to be mostly a set-up/sacrifice Pokemon for this part of the challenge.  I can't level her up any further because I know that at Lv 56 she'll replace Confuse Ray with Haze.

Luke (Lv 57 Raichu): I actually boxed Luke back when he was a Pikachu after some bad moveset changes.  But he made a comeback, and now he's a crucial member of the team with powerful electric moves.  Plus, his speed is insane and I accidentally EV trained him in Special Defense, what with all the Tentacool I killed.

Satrio (Lv 62 Dugtrio): Satrio is very useful in some situations and useless in others, since three of her four moves are ground.  However, her high attack stat, boosted by soft sand, and her SUPER high speed, are crucial to this.  He also saved me so much time when she had Dig.  What a good girl.

Bellphie (Lv 57 Victreebel): While training him I learned that apparently Pokemon that evolve via stone don't learn any new moves after evolving!  Fun!  I decided that move tutor moves were fine as long as I taught them in the right order, so I caught a bunch of Paras in the safari zone for their mushrooms and gave him a proper moveset.

Mammon (Lv 62 Pidgeot): My boy.  My boy.  My second Pokemon after Levi the Squirtle.  He's been through it all.  He has one attacking move, but that's not all that's up his sleeve.  Mammon has tricks and he intends on using them.

With that out of the way, we move on to the Elite Four Challenge.

--Lorelei--

Lorelei is the ice type Elite Four member, and if you noticed, uh.  4 of my 6 Pokemon are weak to ice, and none of them can do anything to an ice type either.

However!  Gen I didn't make any ice type pure ice, so four out of five of Lorelei's Pokemon are part water.  And I have Luke.

Lorelei leads with Dewgong and I lead with Luke.  I immediately use Thunderbolt on it, which isn't enough to KO, but is more than enough to force Lorelei to use a full restore on her next turn.

Each major story battle, the opposing trainer has a set amount of healing items to use.  The Elite Four has two full restores each.  From what I've seen, they're programmed to use one full restore if their Pokémon finishes a turn with their HP below a certain threshold, but they won't use more than one per Pokémon (barring the last), and won't use their second restore until their ace Pokémon is on the field.

Lorelei uses her first full restore, and I use Slam to put Dewgong back into KO range.  Since I outspeed, Luke takes out Dewgong with one more Thunderbolt.

Luke then oneshots her Cloyster with Thunderbolt and levels up to Lv 58.  From now on, I need to be careful with when I use Luke, because he can't level up any more than this.

He nearly oneshots Slowbro as well, and the first slam that actually hits finishes it off.

I use Slam against Lapras, knowing that even the stronger Thunder can't oneshot it.  Unfortunately, Lapras' first move is Confuse Ray, meaning Luke has a 50% chance to damage himself instead of attacking.

And he doesn't!  But he misses Thunder.  Luke then teams up with Lapras to beat himself up, and Luke faints.

I switch into Satrio to finish Lapras off.  What's that, you say?  Satrio is ground type; she's weak to ice!

True!  But Satrio is very fast and has Earthquake.  She takes out Lapras with two Earthquakes, tanking a Surf in between with no problem.  Jynx is an easy oneshot with Earthquake too.

And with that, the first E4 member is down.

--Bruno--

Bruno is a fighting type trainer who seems to always use the same order of Pokemon: Onix, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Onix, and Machamp.

We have Bellphie and Solomon, though.  Bellphie takes out both Onix with a single Razor Leaf each, and Solomon handles the fighting types with Psychic.

--Agatha--

Next up is the ghost type E4 member, but did you know that Gengar was the only Gen I ghost line?  Agatha fills in the blanks with poison types.  Did you also know that the Gengar line is entirely part poison?

Do you know what move is super effective against poison types?  Psychic.  Solomon uses Psychic five time, and then the battle is over.

--Lance--

Just like I had nothing for ice types, I have nothing for dragon types.  Dragon is only weak to dragon and ice in this generation, and I have neither type on my set.  My only goal right now is this: keep Mammon healthy until Dragonite uses Outrage.

Lance always leads with Gyarados, so my obvious choice is to lead with Luke.  I don't.  I forget to switch Solomon out of the first slot.  But Luke is a good boy who survives Hyper Beam upon switching in and uses Gyarados' horrible weakness to electric against it with a Thunderbolt.

Next up is to force my way through his two Dragonair with my strongest non-resisted move, Earthquake.  One Earthquake puts it in full restore range, a slash puts it back in KO range, and then Earthquake again finishes it.  An Earthquake and a Slash take out the second, since Lance won't use his second full restore until Dragonite is out.

Speak of the devil!  Dragonite comes out and I switch into Bellphie to land a stun spore.  A paralyzed Dragonite has its speed cut by 75% and has a 25% chance to not move at all.  Unfortunately, it uses safeguard, which protects Lance’s team from status moves, so I can't finish the paralyze-confuse combo.  All Asmo can do is tank hits and wait for Outrage.

With some good paralysis luck and a critical air cutter, Asmo gets Dragonite below half health, before it finally uses Outrage and knocks her out.

It is finally Mammon's turn.  Dragonite is locked into Outrage for the next 1-2 turns, so Mammon uses Wing Attack to wait for Outrage to hit him, after which he is finally free to act.

See, Mammon has a move called Mirror Move, which will copy the last move used against him.  Outrage is a dragon type move that has no choice but to happen on consecutive turns.  Dragon is weak to dragon, so Mammon has successfully given me a super effective move.

Lance can't use a healing item while Outrage is active, so Mammon takes out the Dragonite.

The last Pokemon is Aerodactyl, which Solomon can handle with Psychic.

The final battle.  Blue always leads with Pidgeot, so I lead with Luke, and this is why I had to be conservative with him.  I have zero idea how many full restores Blue has, but it's too many.  FAR too many.  I don't want to oneshot Pidgeot; I want to force Blue to waste one of his full restores on a Pokemon that can't win its match.

Luke just BARELY doesn't kill Pidgeot, so Blue does waste the item, and the same move combo I used to take out Dewgong works on Pidgeot.

Bellphie takes out Rhydon with one Razor Leaf, and while Alakazam used to be a run-ender for this team, Satrio outspeeds it and takes it out with one Earthquake.

Mammon comes in to battle Venusaur, and Blue doesn't know how to use Venusaur so Wing Attack just has to get past his setup stalling.

Next up is Gyarados, but Luke is still healthy so we know how that goes.

Last is Arcanine, the bane of my existence.  It won't die.  Its attack stat is insane.  It has Extreme Speed, a priority move.  And Blue bought the entire stock of full restores.

I switch into Solomon to take Arcanine's Intimidate.  Intimidate cuts the opponent's physical attack stat upon the user switching in.  However, this is Gen III, so psychic type moves are always special.  I use future sight to get in some emergency damage padding, but Flamethrower and Extreme Speed take Solomon out before I can do anything else.

Solomon protected Satrio from Intimidate though, so Satrio is able to withstand an Extreme Speed and oneshot Arcanine with Earthquake.

And with that, Ah shit defeated Rival bITCH and became the Pokémon League Champion!

Things I would add to Minecraft in no particular order.

Heya! Jennikku here, obviously. And I’m just here to talk about shit I would add to Minecraft just because I think it’s neat or I think is worth expansion. I’ve been thinking a lot about how I would change Minecraft if I was one of the devs so like, yeah, in no certain order here’s things I would adjust, add and change about Minecraft

1. Brown/Grizzly Bears

We have polar bears and panda bears in Minecraft, but we don’t have any of the classic ‘brown’ bears. It seems a little odd to me that we have these two different sorts of bears, and yet no ‘normal’ counterpart. And, with Bees, and by extension, honey, likely being added into this new upcoming update, it just makes sense that Bears would come a-Stompin! I imagine Grizzlies would behave pretty similarly to Polar Bears, and would spend most of their time looking for food. Grizzlies naturally attack any Salmon or Beehive they see the way a wolf will hunt sheep, or a fox/ocelot will hunt chickens and are neutral to the player as long as they keep their distance or the player isn’t near to any one of their cubs. Maybe even like turtles, bears could naturally inhabit caves and have a ‘home’ cave they return to reproduce or go to at the end of every day.

2. Swamp-exclusive mobs

I think swamps need to be a little more swampy. It seems kind of silly to me that wetlands are some of the most diverse biomes on Earth, and yet there’s nothing to populate the murky depths of swamps. Alligators/Crocodiles, Snapping Turtles, Frogs, just something to make the swamps a little more interesting or a little more dangerous to explore! Maybe even a new spider or creeper variant similar to the way husks and strays are an exclusive zombie and skeleton types for desert and snow biomes? 

3. Expansion of existing foods, new crops, and manufactured food

I think perhaps new crop types are an order given that we’ve had the same ones for a pretty long time now, and I firmly believe that existing foods are worth expansion.

For instance, the state of baked goods in Minecraft is pretty dull. Most of the baked goods are about nigh useless, apart from maybe Pumpkin Pie. If we can craft one type of pie, why can’t we craft others? Like, for instance, Apple Pie? We have apples in the game that aren’t used for many recipes outside of one (extremely expensive) late-game food, so why not try to give apples a use for early or midgame players? Or, how about we bake some of our new sweet berries into a pie? It’s not like we’re using berries for much else in-game! 

Oh and, while we’re here, shouldn’t we be able to place pies the way we place cakes? Think about how cool it could be to leave a pie sitting out the way a cake does, it’d be great for little suburban home builds with warm pies sitting in the windows, bakery and other cafe or restaurant-type builds, or just convenience for a group of people or solo players who want to come home and munch on some pie.

I’d personally like to see chocolate added to Minecraft as well, the fact that we have cocoa beans but not chocolate seems kind of odd to me personally, although I understand it is sort of a left-field addition.

I would REALLY like to see a way to cook eggs if I’m honest, but maybe that’s just me? I understand if this seems like a cheap source of food given the inherent frequency of how and when chickens lay eggs.

I also think soups need to be expanded in the game. The fact we have pumpkins but not pumpkin soup is a crime against humanity. I know pumpkins are already used in the recipe for pumpkin pie, but, I enjoy variety with my crops. And besides, if wheat and sugar cane can have versatility as crops, why not pumpkins? I’d also really like to see another kind of meat stew (besides rabbit stew anyway, rabbits are kind of rare in my playtime experience.) or a vegetable stew of some sort added to the game. Fact is, players don’t get many opportunities to craft soups in the game, and I think adding some new soups could help that!

I’d also kinda like to see a new veggie or maybe even a mushroom added to game, as I feel the pickings are pretty slim there, turnips come to mind in terms of a new veggie, just something to round out the existence of carrots, potatoes, and beetroot, and for mushrooms, I’d actually kinda like to see truffles added to the game. Maybe you could use pigs to hunt them, and use them to breed Zombie Pigmen in the nether, or make them friendly toward you? I dunno, I think there’s an idea there. 

4. Baby Creepers and Baby Spiders

Every other common monster has baby counterparts, except for Creepers and Spiders. While this may seem like a ‘no why would you do that’ sort of thing, what’s wrong with a little bit of a new challenge here and there? Plus, baby creepers could deal less damage and explode in a smaller radius than adults, while Baby Spiders could have way less health (maybe you could even kill them by stepping on them?). And, come on, don’t tell me you’re not enthralled by the idea of a tiny creeper or tiny spider doing little high-pitched hisses.

Oh, and, I think Creepers should be able to wear helmets. No other armor piece, just helmets.

5. A way to obtain specific player heads without using commands in Creative Mode.

This speaks for itself honestly. I have wanted to use custom heads for my builds SO many times, but I find spawning them in incredibly tedious and annoying.

6. Updating/Varying Temples and other archaic pre-generated structures

We have sprawling Ocean Monuments and Mansions and more organic and believable villages now, I think it’s time some of the older temples got an update too, or at least the ability to vary a little more and look more ruinous? 

7. Horse-drawn carts or carriages.

While I feel like this is kind of unnecessary given that most equine mobs can just carry chests, a way to transport your fellow players, as well as larger stocks of items across a large distance using a horse or donkey seems like a novel idea to me. Perhaps you could link up carts/carriages with leads to make your epic caravan even bigger!

8. Expansion of the Nether

The Nether isn’t really very scary anymore, and it’s fucking UNINTERESTING! I feel like the Nether could benefit from individual biomes or perhaps more unique structures? Perhaps a hellish-looking forest biome full of dead trees, Soul-sand lava beaches, zombie pigman villages, gnarly giant mushroom biomes, nether outposts with loot guarded by blazes and wither skeletons, unfinished portals, Nether dungeons with skeleton or blaze spawners and more exclusive loot, I dunno! Just something to make the Nether scarier and less barren!

9. Cave/Mining Expansion

Given that everyone and their grandma has already said the caves need an update, I’ll keep it short and sweet:

Caves are boring and uninteresting, we’ve been looking at the same caves for too damn long. Add more unique cave types, more minerals, and above all, more REASONS to mine! The game’s called MINECRAFT? Y’know, you MINE things in it?

10. A use for Dragon Eggs

I don’t care what it is, let us make dragon omelets, re-fight the Ender Dragon in the overworld, cool potions, just let me do SOMETHING with this egg, Mojang, I’m sick of feeling like it has some mysterious higher purpose!

11. Giant Flowers

Okay this one’s more personal but, I think it’d be kinda cool if we could grow giant flowers the same way we grow giant mushrooms. That is all.

Things I really don’t like about Minecraft, honestly:

The early survival game is inaccessible

Here’s the thing about early Minecraft survival: you’re plonked in the middle of the wilderness, with absolutely nothing, and literally the first thing you got to do is punch a tree and find a safe place to spend the night before you get beaten up by monsters.

That’s it. You could spend the night hiding in a hole, probably crafting and mining something in the middle of the night, while hostile mobs wander areas that aren’t lit up, waiting to, basically, kill you. And you’ll stay in this precarious situation for at least a few days, as you 1) make a place to sleep, 2) build shelter, 3) get supplies to venture out, and 4) don’t die, because if you die, you lose your stuff.

This is a game marketed to mass audiences. For children, even. And it can be so manifestly unpleasant I have no idea how it got popular so quickly.

I don’t actually have a problem with this, actually! I positively enjoyed some of that experience, and some of that tension makes for some fun gameplay and entertaining stories — like the one where I found a white horse, tamed it, named it, and then proceeded to take it to a foolhardy exploratory quest before it fell under a hail of arrows (RIP Binky 2019–2019).

And I don’t even have a problem with the learning curve, because I’ve learned and thrived in environments like Dwarf Fortress. I use emacs for gods’ sake. Low accessibility and high difficulty environments are my jam.

But getting here involved more than a dozen start-and-stop moments of gameplay where I literally quit the game, deleted the save, and went to bed in disgust. It’s stupid. It’s aggravating. I can’t believe that this was ready for mass market, what with the lack of telegraphing and the pretty damn high stakes from the start, that the only people who’d play this would be gamers who are familliar with the tropes, already know a little about Minecraft lore, and are invested to try and try again.

To be fair, they’ve made some things easier: they’ve included guidebooks with recipes to automatically load items you already know into the crafter, there’s an official guide online, and if need be, you have cheats. But consider:

If you need to cheat to get the game accessible, there is something wrong with the core game loop.

You can’t create a guidebook and then rely on players gaining “enough experience” to access them to make the game more accessible.

You can’t just bloody have a guide that a person needs to open a browser, or buy the book, to get by.

Survival is very much a non-starter if Minecraft is your first serious game, you get frightened or suffer from anxiety in trying to stay alive, and you have difficulty optimizing your moves to get the best result.

Redstone is a mess

Actually, I have no opinions on how redstone is implemented on a purely technical basis. It’s a system, it’s mostly Turing complete, that's… interesting. What pisses me off is how the Technical Minecraft community is… well, frankly, hard to get into, hard to gain proficiency in, and looks fairly clannish, insular and… honestly a drag to Minecraft’s further development, if Minecraft was to get developed further.

Like I’ve talked about this before, but the existence of the Technical Minecraft is entirely dependent on a class of software behavior that you could make an argument are actually bugs. Zero-tick pistons, anomalous sticky piston behavior with blocks, quasi-connectivity… these weren’t intended consequences for the developers of Minecraft, and they’ve said so before.

Say what you want, but honestly if the only reason why a developer reverted a bug-fix because a bunch of small, clannish, insular, and loud minority were making complaints, I’d honestly ask how much value those people should have in how you run your business.

But that isn’t all. I had taken to writing down notes because I wanted to figure out how certain redstone constructions worked, and even the simplest designs suffer from the following:

There appears to be no standard way of sharing schematics and designs for redstone creations.

Most of the instructions are in video, which is a terrible medium to instruct in, because you don’t have a way to skim through the resource, the presenter literally doesn’t have to say anything more than what they do on video (and thus can be as vague and contradictory as they want).

Most of the instructions are in the nature of, do everything this way, except this section, in which you need to do (flurry of movement as the presenter puts in a slightly different design that you better be able to catch). It’s “simple”. No, it’s fucking not.

Another thing that bothers me is that, fundamentally, most redstone designs are hand-crafted, which is mind-boggling. For one, if you are just starting redstone in Minecraft, you’re going to be sitting with the same toolkit that the most experienced users of redstone are. You’ll still be laying down redstone lines and putting in comparators. You’ll still be dealing with the janky and inconsistent behavior that experienced redstoners are. You’d still be debugging your creations with the same tools experienced redstoners are. And like, you’d be doing it with nary any institutional or technical support, because… reasons?

It’s like you progress from electrical engineering to low-level programming to high-level programming to virtual machines to virtualization… so that you can get back to electrical engineering again? Using skills that may or may not transfer well into other fields? Why?

And there are consequences for this as well, which I’ll get to in a bit, but also, I need to talk about how the community gets around this problem, which is basically…

Modded Minecraft replaces the problems vanilla has with other problems

Specifically? One of them is performance.

I don’t know if you’ve tried 1.12.x and then compared it with 1.15.x, but the differences are night and day. Like, I run a potato computer, mostly because we’re broke af and don’t have the scratch for a l33t gaming machine, but… well, yeah. What’s occasionally janky in 1.15 is literally unplayable in 1.12. What takes 5 minutes to load in vanilla takes up to thirty minutes in modded Minecraft.

And sure, this will sort itself out as modders eventually take advantage of the new architecture and optimizations within 1.15, but in some other ways, it won’t. Mostly because the nature of modded Minecraft is that it literally has to interface with the literal source files to generate or insert new code, and since mod-makers don’t have access to the code pipeline and the tools that they can use to optimize the game, well…

And we’ve only talked about the Java Edition, and not Bedrock, which I suspect will be even more tightly incorporated into the platforms that it runs, at the cost of having less open infrastructure, and as a result, more consequences to mod performance and stabilty.

But another thing that bothers me about modded Minecraft is how so many mods are just… Minecraft, but more. More power, more game mechanics, more technical additions, more mobs, more enchantments… but half the time the resulting game feels bloated and overly-complex.

This is funny because it literally sounds like I’m contradicting myself over the fact that early Minecraft survival had too little in terms of letting itself be accessible, so you’d think I’d welcome mods that worked out some of these gaps with things that made player lives easier.

But what I’m looking for is a realignment of how the game approaches players, not as a punitive, inaccessible system where difficulty is a mask for what is ultimately shallow gameplay, and what we get from modded Minecraft is more stuff. Sometimes, in some modpacks, just so many things that several mods do the same thing that the other mods do.

It’s kind of telling that every time I see a modpack that includes Draconic Evolution the first thing I think of is I better not get into Draconic early, because if I do the rest of the game will literally break, because I have no idea what the hell the mod creators are doing there, but when your damage scales allow you to three-shot the Ender Dragon final boss, that mod breaks the game. Doesn’t matter if you make a boss that’s three times tougher than, say, the Wither. Game’s fucking broken.

There are some good approaches: FTB Academy and other questbook mods do give players a chance to orient and align themselves with what to do, without forcing players to have to go through the anxiety and terror of not knowing what to do, and keeps them engaged far longer than they should be, but honestly… ultimately what you’re doing is more stuff, just through the lens of what the mod wants you to do.

Plus FTB Academy has Draconic and you can literally two-shot the Guardian of Gaia, which is supposed to be so tough that metal music starts playing and it can cause effects that are twice as worse as the Wither… well.

Is it just me or are there only dudes in this party?

If I have to count the number of people who weren’t cis men or boys in the time I’ve been lurking around Minecraft’s YouTube channels, I can quite literally say that the number would be less than half a dozen.

That’s very bad. When your visible community is 95% cis dudes and everyone else aren’t there, it tells me that:

The game alienates literally everyone who isn’t a cis dude

The player base are driving away anyone who isn’t a cis dude

Part of the reasons for #1 are, well, I’ve mentioned them above: it only really allows people who have the time and wherewithal to plug into an activity that offers no real benefit outside of the game itself, most of the fantasies it caters to is power fantasies of vanquishing more and more powerful opponents, and there’s barely any community support for newcomers.

So that’s no surprise that the kind of people who are popular Minecraft YouTubers are dudes who are either bad at explaining what they do, are inarticulate, or… well, to not put it too unkindly, dicks. I mean, Minecraft’s recent rise in popularity and relevance was, sadly, because PewDiePie was playing it. So that tells you everything.

And we haven’t even gotten into the fact that the playerbase looks pale as fuck, so you know that’s a thing. I’m seeing a few Indonesian-language Minecraft tutorials on YouTube, so that’s neat, but otherwise… it’s pretty white-dominated.

And this all assumes that the causes are all because of structural inequalities, not active fuckery against marginalized folks. I honestly don’t know how often that happens, though I wouldn’t honestly be surprised if it did. I mean, it’s not as if the game isn’t associated with nasty folk like PDP… and hell, even the original creator, who, to their credit, Microsoft and Mojang have sidelined, is a homophobic and racist dude.

But, yeah. I mean, $CHILD_1 and $CHILD_2 are still at it with Minecraft, and I’ll be around to help them through, hopefully to steer them away from the nasty stuff. But still, ugh. There are so many reasons to be grumpy about this game.

Mind you, at least it isn’t Roblox.
