I wish the anime hadn't cut this part out. It really highlights how afo presented himself as a savior to those who felt lost during the dawn of quirks which was how he was able to get such a huge following.

we see him do that during present day too as we see how he exploits those, particularly children, who society forgot about by taking them in and caring for them so they'll remain grateful and loyal to him.

I am back with questions about Dawn this time :D

I got a little group of questions for the silly little guy

First, What is their scent? Like- Sparkys scent is Hollyhock soo- I was wondering if Dawn has one.

Second- How tall is CatNap, DogDay and Dawn? I wanna list a standing height for Sparky and wanna know so it could be a little more info based (Standing up straight that is)

I was out eating with my family when i saw the drawing of Sparky and Dawn and when i say i squealed, I FUCKING SQUEALED-

Honestly havent thought of a Scent for Dawn. As shes/he's not a OG critter. But Twitter has been calling them a grape puppy and ive slowly started using that Name too- so guess its Grapes!

I made some virtual fruit and confetti with cute sound effects in figmin xr and showed it to my quiet 75 year old veteran father…. and even HE immediately lit up with childlike joy and was able to use it with no prior knowledge

he started throwing things around, making them spin, and even figured out how to re-size things and made a bunch of grapes the size of a car 🍇

in all my 29 years of knowing him, I’ve never seen my father just like…. play like that. when he took the headset off he said, “y’know, I could see this getting pretty big… if you get rich you’re gonna take care of me in my old age, right?” 😂

dawn is twinleaf's local spooky things expert. she has a special interest in ghosts, creepypastas, and everything horror related. she gets her scary stories from anywhere she can including a girl from kanto she met online that also likes horror stuff.

dawn was thought of as a "weird kid" when she was little and didn't have many friends. she was quiet and reserved and didn't like talking to anyone other than her mom.

this changed when she met fellow "weird kid" barry and they became friends. his silliness rubbed off on her and dawn became more outgoing and cheerful as a result.

during dppt she is 12 and the story opens with dawn recording herself doing a "summoning ritual" she learned about online. apparently it was supposed to summon a "demon from the mirror world". to do the ritual she had to go into a bathroom at 3am with the lights off and chant "volo ergo sum" six times while facing the mirror.

she was interrupted by her mom opening the bathroom door and turning on the lights in the middle of her sixth chant. her mom tells her not to stay up too late and tells her to go to sleep immediately. dawn was disappointed that she wasn't able to befriend the mirror demon, but unknown to her she actually got the attention of none other than giratina.

the next morning dawn wakes up to watch cartoons. however when she turns on the tv the red gyarados news story was on. she watches the report and then she gets called downstairs because her friend barry was at the house.

he saw the news report and dashed over to dawn's house to get her to check for any red gyaradoses at lake acuity with him. she gladly accepts and they run off to the lake to look for one. blah blah rowan and lucas leave the pokeballs at the lake, they get attacked by starly, dawn grabs piplup, barry grabs turtwig, they fight the birds.

however during the fight a starly knocks dawn into the lake causing her to sink underneath. as she drowns she hears a voice that promises to save her if she helps them "stop the man who wants to end the world". dawn accepts and boom she's possessed by giratina now. giratina swims her up to shore and gives dawn (now soaking wet) control.

giratina basically is like a voice in her head from now on that sometimes influences what she does but is mostly hands off. sometimes they show up as like an illusion only dawn can see in mirrors and reflective surfaces where they look like dawn but with red eyes and a black rose pin.

dawn doesn't realized that this voice she's hearing isn't actually just her inner voice or whatever until giratina takes over to banish cyrus to the shadow realm and the distortion world stuff happens lmao.

anyway that's the dawn lore for now i could talk about her role in pla but this is getting long lol scarfshipping sweep or whatever

For funsies: what would Dawn/Dusk’s reaction be to a fellow agent attempting to drop a nickname on Robin, either stealing “little bird” or something like “honey”, “sweets” or “duck” (a legit thing in North of England, used in the same way as “miss” or “buddy”) I hope you’ve been having a good day! Robin isn't even aware of their scary dog privileges, but whatever agent tried that would be. Very very much aware. /hj

So assuming Robin would just kinda miss it/ not hear somehow (because otherwise they'd look at that agent in a way one would usually regard like. idk. the moldy vegetables you forgot about in your fridge drawer or something, and that in turn would make their rival just fight not to laugh at the poor sod who tried that. Robin is not friendly with any field agents except their rivals friendly being generous in reverse Dawn's case lmao)

In the case of blatant special nickname stealing - i.e. "little bird" or "little thief"?

Dusk can be scary, too, and maybe he doesn't need the sharp teeth and the thermal vision in that moment, but when a 7 1/2ft animatronic suddenly gets glowing red eyes and levels a death glare at you, you don't really think about how unnecessarily extra that is. Maybe adds in a lighthearted "Plagiarism is frowned upon, you know." That's it for then, but the feeling of being watched won't leave them any time soon, and they kind of decide getting close to the human star agent is not worth getting past the animatronic one(s)

Dawn? is regularly scary, so honestly stealing his nickname for his rival just invites trouble. The sweetest, most polite death glare you'll ever get, truly. May break something replaceable to distract from the conversation while maintaining eye contact, and whatever fool tried will know Dawn wasn't just being "clumsy"

And I know you asked for their reactions, but in the case where Robin reacts? Just tells the other agent pretty point-blank that they aren't that close, don't call them that - their respective rival has special privileges that come with actually keeping up with them, meanwhile they've never even been on a single mission with Robin. And their boys just preen, so smug about it, and totally would stick their tongue out at the agent if they had one.

If it's a more generic nickname?

Dusk wouldn't care too much (though he still is severely unimpressed), because what he has with his little bird is special, and a generic petname from a random agent really only shows how little they know Robin. If it's a repeat offender they'll also get the death glare sooner rather than later, though honestly, Robin would tell them off before Dusk would get the chance

Dawn struggles still here, since he also dabbles in the generic petnames (mostly under the guise of undercover missions, but that doesn't mean he doesn't mean them). Not amused but can't outright tell the other agent off, given that it's not obviously stolen from him, but may drop a low "Take a hint" with Robin out of earshot. (Again, that's presuming Robin didn't make it clear that petnames from unfamiliar agents won't fly).

In either cases they both may gravitate closer to Robin, just showing off that they can, that they aren't sent away, and also maybe just. A teensy tiny bit of a claim on Robin. If they ever find out they're gonna be so exasperated, but in an amused way, because really, pay attention. They aren't using nick/petnames with any other agent - that should tell them enough about how they feel about the reverse. (Dawn in particular would need the reassurance, though he wouldn't quite admit it. May lay it on thick with the petnames in return though for a while.)

I. I'm not going to add post-reveal canon Dawn and reverse Dusk, because this is already a beast LMAO. The dynamics change that even the original rivals may change their reactions in subtle ways - more assured of their presence in Robin's life, and thus more inclined to let them handle it on their own.

But I probably should go drink something, quite right - but I've had breakfast, a good lunch, and apart from work I also got a looong dog petting session! (Work was fun, too, though I won't call it a treat simply out of principle. I love kids so much though they're so cool lmao)

Will take it easy for the rest of the day, too, since it's almost dinner time, I have my rule to not push myself to create after dinner, and really, I don't need to work on a comic or a drabble every day lmao
