((Good question!- Originally it was David Wain, not the show writers, who came out and gave a 'canon' name on his reddit, but we're not convinced he wasn't just messing with us because it's a question he gets all the time and he gave a pretty normal-ass name for a very un-bland character xD

And 'Mark Davis' just looks kinda like a parallel universe back-to-front upside-down version of 'David Wain', so we wouldn't be surprised if he's just making a Superman/Bizarro kind of joke about it, especially since Warden was originally designed around him. It's literally just; swap the first and last name around, make a first name by keeping the same number of letters and turning the 'W' upside down, change one letter in the last name. Which we love more than anything cuz we adore this show and David, but we wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit of a joke answer xD

But if that's not the case then ooooh welllll, jokes on us I guess~ As it stands, we think the one in the fic is a cuter/ more unique /more time-period-appropriate name and since we already named it before that reddit post came out, we figure why change what we already think works? And maybe it just differentiates this au timeline from the show idk 🙃))

Superjail! is a great example of how voice acting can elevate the material. The show would've had great art and animation regardless, but it would've been weaker if the Warden had a generic voice. David Wain's voice bursts with charisma and personality. I'd even say that it's worth watching just for his voice. I also think that he missed his calling as a children's show voice actor.
