Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
simon riley and the great urge to cover his face or change any aspect of him resembling his abuser, his father.
“you look like your old man!” He frowns.
“yer growin up like yer dad, Simon.” He clenches his fists.
“You take after your dad, ‘than your mum.” He takes a good look at the mirror he wants to smash his knuckles in.
The disgust. The inherent need to mar his face so not a single trace of him is on simon. He has his hair. He has his eyes. He shares the physical attributes as his father, and nothing puts greater shame than that. How can he tolerate himself when he’s a walking carbon copy of the man who made his life a living hell?
The nails have dug into his skin. The fat of his cheeks rubbed red and rugged, ready to carve his face away. He loathes it. His repulsive features would pull him into a meltdown, pushing him down on his knees, unable to stand up. It’s one of those days. One where he curls up crying in a room that wasn’t his, but he yearns it to be.
Friends are a gift in the world, his best friend was a proof of that. Their eyes see the twitch of his fingers, Simon’s avoidance towards his reflection, and the silent spell making him mute other than grunts and groans. The small signs of aggression was all it took to pull him away from prying eyes and into the safe space they made for him. It had now turned into a place of comfort for Simon. The various clothes and items were the proof of his second home.
His hands pull at the muddy mop of his hair, the dirt shade resembling his father’s, as he folds into himself. Quite pitiful, he knows that. But he can be weak as long as it was with them.
They cover him with their jacket, the smell of vanilla wafts him into a state of calm.
“It’s alright, Simon,” they place their hand on top of his. The sweet gesture making his heart die down a bit slower. “Just let it all out. I’m here for you.”
He leans into their touch. He caves into his weakness, and the weakness being something else than his horrible face. His weakness was formed from a bond grown from kind moments and patience. He’s weak for them. He doesn’t mind being vulnerable if it’s with them. His world be dammed if it wasn’t for them.
He pushes them on their back as he lays on top. His arm wrapped around their middle now as he eases himself into a short nap.
“you think I look good blond?” he mouths against your stomach.
They ruffle his hair, “I think you look good in anything, Simon.”
do people who have listened to taz balance but not graduation Know that it was HEAVILY IMPLIED that lup and barry eventually adopted a lil sorcerer child who got disowned by his family for his natural necromancy magic, and they taught him how to use his powers for good and were overall great parents that he looks back on fondly
(and said child grew up to be a dimension-hopping lich, caretaker of the dead, and very sweet adoptive father of a major npc)
i could honestly write a whole essay on how the internet’s obsession with romanticizing ‘girl dads’ while simultaneously making fun of ‘boy moms’ and gender reveal parties is directly related to a pervasive lack of care for trans men&mascs even among supposedly pro-trans people.
It’s such a small moment and maybe I just have brain rot or something but in the beginning when Splinter is talking abt why he hates humans it’s Mikey specifically that chimes in with that little “you don’t know that.” And just UGH
Even just by his tone you can tell that he knows his words aren’t going to change anything because they’ve had this conversation too many times. But also Mikey was the one Splinter almost lost that day, like if Splinter was any slower Mikey would’ve been gone.
And you just know in the minds of children Mikey equated their isolation from humans as being his fault because he almost got ran over as a baby.
Like I don’t wanna say it because sometimes leads to unnecessary angst, but children who grow up isolated from everyone else believing that they can’t confide in their parent often blame themselves for their parents decisions.
Donnie and Raph back talk and make fun of Splinter the most but Mikey does it like once and Leo does it never. So you can tell Leo and Mikey don’t get upset with their father, they get upset with themselves for the way things are and I just
i already tweeted this clip but!! this line from twyla genuinely made me tear up while watching. this is so important that she can healthily communicate her boundaries and have the other ghouls understand and accommodate her without questions.
as an autistic person, i often feel really guilty trying to tell my friends when i need to be away from them and have my own alone time, especially since i cant do a lot of things around them (like draw, or work on assignments, or watch certain media i like) just because i need to do it myself. even though i know they’ll understand, i always feel bad saying it anyways, so often i just don’t, and trudge through it myself. its so important to show kids that sometimes their friends will need to tell them these things, and that its okay and healthy !!!
i think it's interesting how steph is like... the nerds see her as part of the popular group, and sure we see her talking to the cheerleaders a little, but other than that she doesn't really seem to be one of them in the truest sense? i could fully believe that she feels like the tiniest bit of an outcast there, like she's just cool enough for max to give her a pass but she doesn't really click with them that well. she feels to me like the bridge between the popular ones and the nerds, which is appropriate i suppose for her place in the story.
man if mia was the protagonist alcina would just Give her the flask i stg
i just feel like alcina would see another struggling mother, on her own doing *anything* to her her daughter back and she'd see herself; she too would do anything in the world for her daughters and if she was in that position...
idk i just feel like seeing mia would tap into the very rare and buried human and motherly side of alcina and she'd give mia a little pat on the head and send her on her way
thinking about how fucked up it is that despite being titled the best weapons master of his generation, zaknafein was actively held back during his academy years to not embarrass people who were socially above him, the only thing it really gave him was A Bigger Shovel type of 'reward' that drove him into deeper and deeper despair (you're good at killing? train people to kill. TRAIN PEOPLE TO KILL FOREVER. SEND THEM OFF TO DIE OR TO KILL CHILDREN) or made him a target that people were desperate to murder to show their worth
all the actual power he has to affect anything in a way he actually wants (his child's future) is focused entirely in choosing to die, twice
I just find it funny how any interaction between Poseidon, Hecate and Athena in smartwatermagic context in my mind always ends up with undertones of all of them thinking "I am a better parent than the other two" without fail

So I had assumed that Rose Noble choose her name from lingering subconscious memories a LA the metacrisis but in the giggle novelisation it says that Donna named her daughter after Rose Tyler which is to say. I'm very 🥹🥺😭❣️ about Rose asking her mom to help her pick out her new name
