'Auto-styling' Hair in Regeneration

Ooo, there's the golden question! We have no factual answer for this, so we're back to the world of theories.

🌟 Leading theory: Regenerative Coating

What if Time Lords regenerate with a protective coating similar to vernix caseosa that newborn humans have? This Gallifreyan vernix could be nutrient-rich and imbued with artron energy, setting the hair in a position during the regenerative process before absorbing and leaving the hair looking like it's styled with hair gel. Is that gross or not? Can't decide.

As well as hairstyle, it could also account for the period of 'moulding' after regeneration, where tiny physical details can change, and answer why getting your hand chopped off by an angry Sycorax doesn't make Gallifreyan bleed or scar through its intense healing properties and tag-teaming with lindos.

🔬 Sub-theory 1: Microscopic Lindos Manipulation

We know that Gallifreyans have lindos, a type of stem cell, for regenerative and healing processes. What if their hair follicles are packed with specialized lindos that can "remember" a default or even a preferred hairstyle? Upon regeneration, they return the hair to its remembered state or adapt to the Time Lord's new persona.

🪮 Sub-theory 2: Mood-Responsive Hair

Given that Gallifreyan hair can "feel" due to the denser keratin and higher nerve density, what if it's also sensitive to the emotional state of the Time Lord? Imagine a scenario where the hair can tighten or loosen its curl, straighten or puff up, all based on what it "senses" its Time Lord is feeling. Bad companion breakup? Hair tightens. Just saved the universe? Effortless wave. This hair has more drama than a soap opera, and I'm here for it. Far less plausible of course, but also very fun.

There you have it - three theories that could explain the auto-style of our favourite Time Lords.

Hi! I've recently finished watching dw for the first time (well seasons 1-4 of nuwho but I have a feeling that's gonna be it for me for a while) and fell down the doctor/rose rabbit hole! Their arc is sooo perfect and satisfying, never seen one like it for a couple I ship before!!

I'm the biggest tentoo fan and I've kinda been stalking your blog delighting in everything you post about tentoo/rose and the pairing in general! Unfortunately I have a hard time finding other blogs loving nine/rose, ten/rose and tentoo/rose at the same time (though it kinda baffles me, how can you separate them like this???) so I was wondering if you had some blog recs?

Were you named after anyone? Yes, someone my mother thought was nice but never told me anything more.

When was the last time you cried? Ditto not much of a crier but I think it was a fic I read where Tentoo an Rose died. DW appears to be my kryptonite with the crying thing.

Do you have any kids? No - Thank God.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? No, I try not to.

What sports have you played/do you play? Not anymore. I bowled (yes I'm that old) when I was younger as it was a generational family thing and then I played Tennis for a bit but I sucked at both. I have depth perception issues so I'm kind of useless on anything aiming or hitting a ball.

What's the first thing you notice about other people? Hair, eyes, smile.

What's your eye colour? Hazel but most people think I have blue eyes.

Okay, so I'm seeing this post re: damages caused by one Gallifreyan who had a bit too much of the Canada Dry before switching to booze,

Say the things that Gallifreyan who shall not be named, for liability purposes, were to be covered under this insurance plan. What kind of compensation would be expected? The Doc--I mean the Gallifreyan who shall not be named never seemed to know that much about money.

In this scenario where a Gallifreyan caused damages but was hypothetically covered under a policy, the compensation would typically be structured to address the specific nature and extent of the damages incurred.

Given the unique circumstances involving interspecies communication, the compensation would likely include:

Repair and Restoration: This would involve full support of the Gallifreyan Embassy nearest to the Sol sector for the repair or restoration of the affected Earth property. This could be achieved through temporal manipulation or financial reimbursement. I sadly can not send you the link but it was just announced that Camille Couduri is coming back as Jackie for Big Finish, for the 60th anniversary. Doesn't that mean we get a third part of Siege of Ben/Flight into Hull? Post doomsday is already covered by Rose "Dimension cannon" stories, so it would make sense if they continue the Tentoo big finish audios. I just really really want a third part of the story! Just imagine more Jackie and Tentoo banter ...😍❤
