The Force Awakens Breakdown
So I know no one gives a shit about my opinions on movies and my last post about the sequel trilogy [ST] But honestly I want to continue talking about these crap movies. So now that we got that through, lets start.
1) Jar Jar Abrams start this movie by basically ripping off the concept of the OT [Original Trilogy] The First Order [The empire] has taken over with a dark side user [Kylo Ren in this one, and Darth Vader in the OT] with a more powerful dark side user in the background pulling all the strings [Snoke and Creamy Sheeve respectfully] With an opposing side that happening to be small in numbers, [The Rebels and The Resistance(What they're resisting, no fucking clue, but it sounds nice)]
2) Rey Palpatine (I refuse to use the other name) is the protagonist of this story, and just so happens to live in a desert planet, you know like Luke. And happens to be the most laziest character Jar Jar and Kathleen Kennedy ever created. She's kind, and friendly and her only flaw is that she doesn't have any family. She's a scavenger, yet has so much proficient in the force, you would think she's been training for decades. She has great skill in flying ships and fixing them, that you would think, it would at least be a throwaway line. But nope, she has no reasoning for knowing how to fly or fix ships and the only reasoning we really have is that, Jar Jar wanted it, so he put it in. And throughout this movie and following ones, she picks up skills like their pokemon cards because fuck hard work. Now Rey pisses me off, not just because of her lazy character, but because during all the movies, nothing ever fucking happens to her, she doesn't get hurt to an extreme degree like Finn, She doesn't go through a huge revelation, all that happens is that Rey loses Han (someone she barely knows) then she magically beat Kylo,( who if you don't remember has years even decades over Rey in training) and then decides to find Luke. And that leads to the third problem...
3) The movie is too full. for being a movie that is 2 hours and 16 minutes, yes I fucking looked it up, this movie seems to drag on and not develop any of their concepts. Because while I fucking agree that Rian Johnson left fucking nothing for Jar Jar to work with, at least his story had some character development, and yes it dumb and breaks the world but I'll take what I can get. All the main characters in this movie all ends up the same as they start off with. Rey is a happy and kind character with no past, turns to Rey is a happy and kind character with no past and force abilities. Kylo Ren is tangled up Christmas lights drenched in yogurt and acid, and turns into a tangled up Christmas lights drenched in yogurt and acid, who ends up Killing his father. But if you remember is haunted by that death by TLJ [The Last Jedi] Poe Dameron is a self assured Spit-fired Pilot and ends up a Spit-fired self assured Pilot who's Not dead. Even the characters who do get develop, Finn and, oh my god, it's only Finn, get's completely rewritten in TLJ and gets the story arc redone just terribly. We can't even talk about Han, Leia or even Maz, because Han doesn't change and then dies, Leia doesn't get enough screen time to show anything about this character, and Maz is supposed to Yoda in a yellow and female clothing, and they do shit with that too because it leads to this..
4) Maz Kanata and holy fuck, she's literally the reason Han is dead. Maz yells very loudly to the entire cantina that Han Solo is here, which leads for the First Order to be notified. She somehow has Luke's lightsaber [It doesn't get explained, not even in the later movies] and somehow Rey is drawn to it, and leads to Maz giving advice, but you know the shitty type because it ends with Rey running away in the forest for her to get caught by Kylo. She tells Finn that he shouldn't leave, and that it turns makes him severely injured. And if you don't remember she does the same to Han, and he ends up dead. And her cantina gets fucking destroyed after being their for centuries, yet she couldn't give a fuck. and it shows the true issue, Jar Jar and Kathleen Kennedy in extent doesn't give a fuck about characters and just wants to to get from point A to point B with a lot of flashing lights.
5) Han Solo: Character Assassination. A character who developed into a man who was ready to risk it all for the rebellion. A character we loved in the OT is now broken down into his New Hope person all over again. Who apparently has scammed everyone in the galaxy? Um, Jar Jar, I know it might seem strange to you, but a smuggler needs people who trust him to get jobs and therefore receive income. But I guess I shouldn't expect much from the same man that think a Smuggler would want to be easily known or recognized. Also Leia and him are either broken up or divorced and that makes me feel really happy to know a couple that I loved are no longer together and one of this dead. Because Han Solo is just there for fan service and to shoot his gun, because that's what he's here for to go pew pew. Oh and to die, that what all the OT fans wanted, One of the main three characters killed by their own child.
6) Subtle doesn't exist in this movie, everything is given the delicacy of a hammer. We find out that Kylo or Ben, (I really don't fucking give a shit) is the son of Han solo, by Snoke just saying, the droid is in the possession of your father Han Solo, like no shit I assumed that when you mentioned the Millennium Falcon. Who would you think I thought Kylo was the son of, Chewbacca? Finn's story arc is the only one that makes you think, and brings a new aspect to the movies, and to the Stormtroopers. I just fucking wish we could do the same for the others Stormtroopers, because the other are killed with no regards that most of them, as Finn states were sold into this at a young age. Good job Resistance for killing all these people who was forced into this with no regards. How does a series that came like a decade before you (Star Wars: The Clones War Series) manage to develop the concepts that stormtroopers or clones are not mindless drones better than you. (The Rookie episode in the first season helps flesh out all the clones and they only have 25 minutes per episode, get you're shit together Lucas Films) And these are only the examples I could think of, off the top of my head.
7) Rey is a great example of Sexism, but instead it goes the other way around then usual. All the male characters are laughed at and or ridiculed, but all the females are perfect and don't need to change. One of the last scene is a great example of this, Kylo Ren, the one with years of training and two powerful masters who trained him, gets beat by Rey, someone who has no skill with a lightsaber and didn't even know she could use the force until Jar Jar decided to pull it out his ass. Even Finn who has at least close quarters fighting skills under his belt couldn't beat Kylo, and has to be saved by Rey. Now I will admit to being a feminist but Kathleen version completely differs from mine. Because while I believe both men and women are both capable of reaching the same level of skill, Kathleen think women should be able to do incredible things without working for it. And it clear by her stupid "The Force is female" Like shut the fuck up, the force was never given a gender, why the fuck are you doing it now? I also found out that most of the Crew in Lucas Film, happens to be female. and it's clear who's doing that. Again I am a feminist but I hate when people just have diversity for the sake of diversity instead of the person's capabilities. It's very vindictive of the Feminist movement, The Black Lives Movement and LGBT+ agenda as well, as we're trying to make people see them as just like everyone else which they fucking are (I will not stand for any form of bigotry and if you don't like something simply because of someone's race, gender or sexuality, you are shit human being) , they just so happen to not be a straight white man. And that they have the same struggles as everyone else. Also we already had strong female characters in the series without the big emphasis on the fact that they have a vagina. As from the basis, Star Wars was never about gender and because of this we got fully developed character we could relate to.
Now Dishonorable Mentions
A) This movie is fucking 2 hours and 16 minutes long, yet it feel so unfinished
B) Jar Jar Abrams deep seated love for mystery boxes and how it get more screen time then the actual Character it involves (Rey)
C) The movie could've been great, they're was definitely potential but it was dwarfed by mystery boxes and Visuals
D) Rey is not a Mary Sue in this Movie, she becomes one by the end of TLJ but she's not yet. So I guess it one positive.
E) Jar Jar inability for world Building, and doesn't even fucking tries to explain how the First Order even began to rise.
F) Poe Fucking Dameron, and the amount of time that is dedicated to him. I love him but come on, just make it someone like Han, as it could bring up the relationship between him and his son, which could then bring more emphasis when we reveal their relationship. But no lets bring up a character who we all assume is dead until about the end. And then does absolutely fucking nothing.
G) And Lastly when we see Han die, we don't get a scene of any of the characters we give a fuck about and who knows Han mourn his death, instead we just have two characters who had about 15 minutes of screen time with Han, and Chewbacca. And it doesn't get better because Rian Johnson decides in the second movie that we don't need a scene of Luke mourning over the man who fought side by side with him and is his Sister's husband. No Instead we get a scene of him drinking tit milk.
So that's it, well for now, I'll make another post for this if I have any more issues. But that it for now. I would also like to make it damn clear now, as I'll probably continue this, that me tearing apart a movie is based soley on the technical aspects of it. And that if you enjoyed this movie, you are entitled to it, but you cannot defend this movie's writing , because as I hoped I made clear, the writing is very much shit.

Mando didn’t know how to handle himself when he had nothing to do. Here he was granted with a rare opportunity to do absolutely nothing and the concept itself was more stressful. He wanted to keep busy, to continue his journey and having a day where he needed to just wait was torturous. Most people he’s sure would graciously accept a day of rest and nothingness but for Mando, it just put him more on edge. His mind was clouded with thoughts of the kid, and if something would happen to him and Kuiil on their way to him. He was also unable to relax as the girl he was with made him so incredibly nervous.
He fumbled over his words, and never retained anything she said on the first try, and he just felt so small under the beskar. She carried herself effortlessly, and with such an air of grace and confidence and she turned him to putty without even knowing. She led a very modest life, nothing about her home or clothing was special, but Maker, those eyes made him lose track of everything the second she looked at him.
He wasn’t used to the kindness. He rationalized his feelings by telling himself that he just wasn’t use to sharing close quarters with a woman, and he wasn’t used to someone being so nice to him, except for Kuiil, and even that was different. She was different. She was thoughtful and knew how to approach things with him that made him feel at ease, although just being here was causing him stress. He always was worried when the kid wasn’t in his immediate vicinity. The day went by slowly, the hours seemed to just drag on, taunting him and reminding him the kid wasn’t with him. The girl forced him to rest, hydrate, eat, spend some time alone with the helmet off. He was confined to her bedroom, actually enjoying the prolonged period of the helmet being off. When the sun went down, he decided to put the helmet back on and seek her out for company. It was new territory for him- being the one to want to initiate conversation and contact with someone else. He found her sitting outside of her house, watching the sky, and he felt like it was an intrusion to interrupt the moment.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting your son,” she declared, acknowledging his presence. “I haven’t encountered a fellow force-user in a very long time.”
“Is that why he has powers?”
“Yes, is the simple explanation,” she begins, and gestures for him to take the empty seat next to her. It was nice, the weather was mild for the planet, and sitting in close proximity caused your shoulders to touch. Mando felt very flustered under the helmet at the contact and was relieved you couldn’t see him.
“He can heal,” he explains, “and just- for such a small creature do incredible things.”
“Do you know if he’s ever received training?”
“No. He doesn’t speak, or at least he can’t communicate with me.”
“That’s okay,” she reassures him, “Tomorrow all the questions can be answered. No reason to worry ourselves about what can’t be done now.”
He nods. He wished he was able to just prioritize his thoughts and emotions as clearly as that. Being able to just focus on something when he needed to was something he couldn’t do well. He couldn’t stop thinking about a task until it was complete. It was a spiraling in his mind he often couldn’t help even when he desperately tried to control his thoughts. He didn’t have the ability to just put something off until tomorrow and he wished he did. He wanted nothing more than to just allow himself to be in this moment and he struggled to do so.
He wanted nothing more to be charismatic, and talkative. He had so many questions in his mind he wanted to ask her. He wanted to get to know her and let himself memorize the details of her face, even if it was just the distorted image of her from under the visor. She radiated this serenity into the atmosphere he desperately wanted to be apart of. His mind wandered to thoughts of how nice it would be to live a life like hers, simple moisture farmer in hiding safely tucked away from the rest of the galaxy. He wanted that life for himself and he wanted to give a life like that to the foundling.
Maybe, just maybe, there was a part of him that wanted an excuse to stay here. Even if it was just for a little longer. He indulged in a daydream where he thought about settling here, retiring the helmet and just making a life here with her and the child. He wondered if she were able to get married, and if she as a Jedi had a code she followed like his own. He hadn’t had the urge to take of the helmet in a very long time, and never had it been as strong as this. He was being ridiculous. He didn’t know her, but how he longed to. He wanted to see her face without the visor blocking his view. He wanted to feel her skin against his own, taking off his gloves to hold her hands in his or touch her face.
“You’re welcome to stay as long as you need,” she said, almost like she was reading his thoughts. “I’d love to have as much time with your son as you’d allow me, but I’m sure you’d want to continue on your way as soon as you could.”
“As long as you need with him is how long we’ll stay,” he said quickly, surprising himself. She smiled and he felt his heart skip. He made her smile. Sure, it meant nothing, but he was still swelling with pride.
“How are you?” she asks and the question takes him back. How was he? He was a nervous, stressed wreck who feels like with every word she says he could leap out of his skin.
“I’m feeling better,” he answered, in reference to the arm. He assumes she just means his injury.
“I’m glad,” she sighs, “you needed to take some time. To recover. I’m happy I have been able to help.”
“Thank you,” he says, and then there is a lull in conversation that is a rather comforting silence. There’s like a silent understanding and a feeling of content between the two. It’s an odd feeling. It’s like she doesn’t need to speak to communicate with him. He never fully able to explain the feeling. It was safe. He felt at ease. Well, for him.
“How long do you plan to stay in hiding?” he asks her, breaking the silence.
“I suppose I haven’t thought about going anywhere else,” she shrugged. “I think I’m done with adventures for my lifetime. I like the peace I’ve found here. For a very long time, there was such a lack of balance, and after such a war I’m content to live out my life here.”
“That’s nice,” he replies, and he’s left a little speechless.
“There are no more Jedi,” she continues, and he swears he can see a tear in the corner of her eye. “I mean, I have no home anymore besides here. I’m the only one left.”
“Do you know for sure?”
“No, but it’s been so long. Even if there was someone else in the galaxy, they aren’t the Jedi I fought beside.”
  “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not healthy to dwell on the past like this,” she says abruptly, easily pulling herself together, “It’s better to focus on the future- your foundling.”
The following morning, he was awoken by a familiar babbling outside the bedroom door. She insisted he take her bed and she slept on a cot in the other room. Securing his helmet back on his head, he was overwhelmed to see the child in her arms while she was talking to Kuiil. When the child saw him, the small baby smiled brightly and reached his arms out to Mando. She passed the foundling over to him, and suddenly the weight in his chest had eased.
He watched from a distance, sitting outside beside Kuiil as the girl and the youngling sat on the ground a short distance away. The girl looked like her and the child were meditating but Mando didn’t dare interrupt the process by asking questions. Kuiil seemed to be studying Mando and it made him squirm slightly in his seat.
“I see the way you look at her,” Kuiil says.
“You can’t see anything, I’m wearing a helmet,” Mando says dismissively.
“Which should demonstrate to you how obvious your affections are,” Kuiil points out. Mando sighs.
  “She’s very kind.”
“She’s also very beautiful…”
“I suppose so,” he mumbles.
“You going to just be alone forever?” Kuiil questions, “How long will you live out of that cramped ship? That is no life for a child. That’s no life for anyone- it’s not a livable life.”
“I’m fine.”
“How many years will you waste trapsing around the galaxy before you realize you’ve spent your life on the run?” Kuiil retorts, and Mando looks down at his boots, hating that he knows Kuiil is right.
“She looks at you the same way,” Kuiil continues, looking back to where she is working with the child. “I think between the thick head and the helmet you can choose to not see it.”
“I can’t stay here.”
“You choose to not stay anywhere.”
“I don’t want to be on the run.”
“Then why do you prolong it?”
The girl begins walking towards them, the child following closely behind. Her face shows obvious signs of distress, and both of their cheeks are stained with tears. The child scurries into Mando’s lap and hides his face into the breastplate of the armor. The girl walks inside past the two of them, saying nothing. She keeps her eyes down and doesn’t acknowledge when Kuiil tries to reach out to her. Mando hands the child off the Kuiil and follows the girl.
“The life he’s lived,” she mumbles, when she hears Mando enter the room. “He’s been through so much. He was there…”
“Where?”
“Oh, maker,” she exclaims softly, trying to think of how to explain it. “Anakin- I mean, Darth Vader- when he turned to the Dark Side- he, he went on this murderous spree and others too- but Vader, he was the one who killed the younglings at the Jedi Temple.”
“You knew him?”
“Yes, he was supposed to be the chosen one. Bring balance to the force- but he was corrupted. One of the things he did was he killed all the children at the Jedi Temple- but, Grogu- by some miracle he survived. But all his peers- they weren’t as lucky.”
“Grogu?”
“That’s his name, I’m sorry. I should have clarified. I’m a little shaken up. I had to relive some of my own painful memories as well.”
“Can you help him?”
“He doesn’t need training, to control his use of the Force- I can teach him that. But he doesn’t need to train as a Jedi- he needs to heal, to be a child, he needs stability…”
“What can I do?”
“Just continue to care for him, he loves you very much.”
“He does?”
“Of course, you knew that. You don’t me to tell you that you are the most important thing in his life.”
“Oh…”
“The feelings of attachment you feel for him are reciprocated,” she explains with a small smile, that doesn’t quite meet her eyes.
Kuiil left the next morning, and Mando decided to spend a few more days with her before continuing on his way to retrieve the parts he needed for the crest. He wouldn’t admit it, but he quickly grew accustomed to this place. He saw how happy the child was, the way Grogu followed her around like he was her own. He clung to her every word and mimicked her every step. He saw how happy the two of them were together, and he thought about how happy Grogu would be if he left him here.
Mando had convinced himself he couldn’t stay. This was not something in the cards for his life. This was not for him, as desperately as he wanted it. He knew the longer he stayed, the harder it would be for him to leave, and yet he selfishly allowed himself to stay longer than he anticipated. Whenever he resolved to leave, he felt a tug in the air convincing him to stay just one more day. Soon it had been weeks, and the three fell into a routine that quickly became his new normal. It scared him, and he worried about when it would fall apart. He wanted to run from it before he got hurt.
He doesn’t know when he let his guard down, but it hit him all of a sudden one day and it just paralyzes him. Weeks spent here with nothing having gone wrong, none of his fears had actually come true. He feels defeated, knowing Kuiil was right. He wanted the child to stay here with the girl, and he knew it would make you both happy if the two of you stayed together. They understood each other, had a similar history. They were the same, and they were from the same world- and Mando didn’t belong.
“I think I need to think about moving on,” he says out of the blue one night.
“I will miss you both,” she says, and he cannot gauge her emotions.
“I think he should stay with you,” Mando admits.
“You’re better for him than me,” she chuckles. “He will thrive wherever his father is.”
“I can’t bring him with me anymore,” he sighs. “He needs to have the opportunity to be a kid, like you said. If you take him, he can have that here with you.”
“And where will you go?”
“I don’t know.”
“I must admit,” she says softly, “I wish you both would stay.”
“You-you do?” Mando replies, in shock.
“Of course,” she replies, looking to him. “It’s a lonely life here. I admit I’ve gotten used to the company. I’ll hate to see you leave, but I understand if you must.” “I’m so used to being alone…”
“Isn’t it better being lonely together?” she jokes, making him smile even though she can’t see it.
“It is,” he agrees.
“Just something to think about,” she shrugs, heading into the house at the sound of the child stirring. Mando leans back, looking up at the sky. He doesn’t know if he can bring himself to stay. Just to commit to something so permanent. He was so scared he would get hurt, or Grogu would get hurt. The tranquil weeks here still could not ease his paranoia. Especially now that he has someone else, he cares for.
He retires for the night, joining the two of them in the house. His mind weighing heavy trying to decide between what he wants and what he believes is the right thing to do. He longs to just shed the helmet and never worry about it again. He wants to stay here, in this little corner of the galaxy with her and his- their son. Maybe he could settle here and they would have children of their own. He’d been running for so long, and he knew Kuiil was right in his assessment of Mando’s feelings. He was too blind to see how she wanted the same, even just admitting it plainly to him moments ago.
“I’m going to stay.”

Fade Into You - Chapter Two
SUMMARY ✦ You meet with the mysterious stranger and finally learn who he is, Vader. You also learn that the Jedi Council may have not been as truthful with you as they say they have.
WARNING(S) ✦ N/A
MASTERLIST ✦ Here.
I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.
Your eyes opened and you were once again standing in the long, dark hallways of the building that no longer felt unknown to you. In fact, you reveled in the way that the duracrete was the exact same way as the night before and the one before that. You focused inward, conserving your energy to attempt and get some answers while you were here. Time seems slower here, like you could stay forever and it would only be an hour in the real world.
Making your way down the same passages you had grown accustomed to, you searched for the window, which was in the exact same place, with the stranger still there. Instead of keeping his back to you as you walked close, he turned and glanced at you, golden eyes scanning your face before going back to the outside world. A phantom push sent you closer, until your feet stopped in the place that they always did. The interaction was vaguely familiar to the one you had with Obi-Wan when you were awake, looking over the buzzing life of Coruscant. Except now you were looking at nothing but lava and ash, and darkness surrounded you.
“Y/N.”
You weren’t sure if you imagined it, the way that he spoke so loudly and clearly, obviously remembering the last tiny conversation you had together. He said your name with such certainty, like he was greeting an old friend. You remembered that the only thing he knew of you was your name. He didn’t know that you were a Jedi, that you worked with the Order, or that you were a commanding general in the Republic Army. Typically when you met someone new, they immediately were told of the small title you held as a Jedi Knight. But not him. You were just Y/N with him, and that calmed you in a way you’ve never felt before.
“That is your name, isn’t it?” He spoke again.
You nodded. “Yes, it is.”
“What are you doing here, Y/N?”
He was looking at you now, in the same way that he did last night. It sent a shiver down your spine.
“I don’t know where ‘here’ is,” You responded. “I don’t know who you are either.”
There was a tiny, inaudible whisper that sounded like it was coming from behind you, but when you glanced over your shoulder, there was no one there. It was just you and him. The whisper sounded again, this time closer, in your mind. It felt like a tiny flutter. Vader. A voice sounded in your brain. And then again, Vader, louder now and more clear. All around you, little whispers said the same one word over and over again like a broken record that had no means of stopping. Vader. Vader. Vader. But the man seemed unphased like he couldn’t hear anything. It was all in your head. The Force called to you through all sides, overwhelming your senses and almost pushing you out of balance.
He chuckled, like your confusion amused him. “You know more than you think.”
“Vader,” You spoke his name out in the open, testing the feeling of the word on your tongue. It was weird, foreign, you’ve never heard of it before. It grew the notion that perhaps he wasn’t real after all, that you were creating all of this within the confines of your own mind. Still, he seemed too unknown and powerful to be just your imagination.
“See? The Force is supposed to guide you,” Vader stated.
“What do you know about the Force?”
“I know enough to sense that you’re a Jedi.”
“And what are you?”
Vader didn’t respond. When you finally saw his face, there was a sense of playfulness in his stature. He seemed calm, unlike you who began to buzz with anxiety. He didn’t look like he was out of place, he had been here before, walked these halls other than now and looked out these windows without you. You didn’t know how you had never seen it before. His eyes that shined orange like the sun, the power of the Force flowing through him, the dark clothing that fit his body snug.
“You’re Sith.” The words echoed through the silent hallways.
You took steps backwards, the clicking of your boots sounding as you tried to make distance between yourself and him. Vader was Sith. Out of instinct you reached to the side of your hip, hand grasping around nothing in the holder where your lightsaber was supposed to be. Resorting to your last hope, you brought your hand up, hoping to push him away with your abilities. But nothing happened. You were completely powerless and weaponless. And you were just about ready to run when your eyes traced to his side, seeing no lightsaber, and inferring that his power wouldn’t work ever. Both of you had no way to fight, the Force didn’t want you to fight for whatever reason.
“Yes, I am.”
“Then you did this! What do you want from me? Why are these dreams happening?”
He took a step closer and you took one back, keeping the same distance between you two. You held your hands up, knowing that if he was to strike, at least you could use some form of hand to hand combat you had been trained to do.
“I had nothing to do with this. Trust me,” Vader said. “I am just as confused as you are.”
You shook your head. “Why should I trust a Sith?” All your life, you heard stories of the Sith and how they reigned terror on anyone they came into contact with, whether they were innocent people or Jedi who tried to stop them. Obi-Wan was the first to kill a Sith in over 100 years, and you knew that Darth Maul was the one to kill Master Qui-Gon Jinn, a powerful Jedi. A constant darkness loomed over the galaxy, knowing that there were always two Sith. There was still one out there, maybe you even found them now. Sith were evil and needed to be dealt with. They didn’t use the Force the way that it was intended to be, the Force was supposed to be used to create peace, not to destroy planets and lives. You could never trust a Sith.
“You shouldn’t, you’re smarter than that,” He spoke. “I have no way of proving my-” Vader paused. “-Innocence, for lack of a better word, to you, so take it as you will. Every day I wake up and wonder why the Force would connect us in such a way.” He holds his hand up, the one from last night that grasped onto you. Wiggling his fingers, you could see the dark red splotches of burnt skin on his fingertips, curled around them like the rounded shape of your wrist. He too was facing the physical complications that came with your connection, which led you to believe that maybe he was telling the truth about having no involvement in this. You raised your wrist, showing the same type of burn that you adorned. He walked closer now, this time you didn’t back away, allowing him to once again be as close to you as he had been before. Vader’s hand reached out, almost to grab your wrist to inspect, then remembering the effects of last time, put it back down to remain at his side.
“Is there any way for us to figure this out?” You asked, your tone much calmer than it had been before.
Vader shook his head, a sigh coming past his lips. “Not without . . . Seeing you.”
“You’re seeing me right now.”
“Not in a dream.”
Oh. He meant in the real world, not this dream world that you had somehow created together. You wondered why he seemed so . . . calm from a Sith (or at least, the things you had been told), perhaps it was in his dreams where he was the most vulnerable. In this world you were safe from his power, his possible destruction and anger, but in the real world you were not. There was a chance that you two would meet and a fight would break out, and you weren’t sure if you were ready to truly fight the darkest side of the Force.
A dark, inescapable mist started to seep through the halls of the building. It built up around your ankles and began to pull you away from your dream. This had never happened before either. Typically something would just push you towards consciousness, but this mist felt as if it was ripping you from your mind. Your eyes darted from him to the floor, knowing that you didn’t have much more time left. Maybe a minute or so, if you really held on. You began to shake more now, feet becoming unsteady. “I can’t hold on for much longer,” You yelled towards Vader. He did nothing, only stared.
Just as your mind seemed to shred into two, you heard him speak:
“Meet me on Mustafar if you trust me.”
~
Your screams were the only thing that could be heard within the confines of the Jedi Temple, in the ears of every Master, Knight, Padawan, and Youngling that resided there. Master Kit Fisto was the first to hear them, being in one of the rooms closest to yours. At first he only intended to wake you from whatever nightmare you were having, but when you showed no signs of stopping, almost detached from the real world, he quickly ran to get help from the other Masters of the Order. A crowd began forming in the hallway outside of your room, Younglings and Knights alike wondering what was going on. If they didn’t know any better, they would think that you were being tortured or killed, your screams rippling through the air. When all the unwanted bystanders were cleared out of the way, half of the members of the Jedi council stood in your room along with someone from medical.
Master Yoda put two fingers to your temple, soothing your thoughts and silencing your screams. As you laid there as though you were sound asleep, the medic checked your health, seeing that there had been nothing physically harming you at all. It was as if you snapped.
Your eyes fluttered open, heart lurching when you came face to face with your Masters all standing before you. Sweat was dripping off of your forehead, chest heaving up and down in deep breaths of air. It was like something was jammed down your throat, you didn’t know what to say. You were sore all over. They were all waiting.
“Knight Y/N, Master Obi-Wan has told us about your dreams,” Master Windu told you. “Do you have any idea who this man is?”
You could only think one thing, form one word. It was the same word the whispers told you, the same one you knew would consume you the moment you said it out loud. The name of the man that confused you, though knew you, and filled you with deep senses of grief and calm at the very same time.
“Vader,” You croaked out. “His name,” You took a deep breath, throat raw from screaming. “Is Vader.”
All of the others in your room looked as if they had seen a ghost. Their expressions were emotionless, but you couldn’t help but notice the way that Obi-Wan seemed to grow white in the face. To your surprise, even Master Windu looked alarmed. It was clear that everyone knew something that you didn’t know.
“For you to know, it is time, Knight Y/N. The truth, we must tell,” Master Yoda said.
The Council ordered you to come up to their meeting room on the top level of the Temple immediately, you only had time to grab a brown blanket and wrap it around your shoulders, shivering. The moment you stepped in the room, which was dark except for the moonlight spilling in. It was late, well past midnight and everyone looked tired. Though no one had any intentions of going to sleep, not when there was something important like Vader to discuss.
A droid came and handed you a cup of tea, which you accepted with no questions asked and sipped it. While everyone got situated in their seats, you thought back to your dream. It was there that you remembered what Vader had said.
Meet me on Mustafar.
You had only read about the planet, never having been there. What was Vader doing in a place like that? Then you could hear his voice through your subconscious:
If you trust me.
Putting your trust in Vader seemed like the last thing you should be doing, but the thought was tempting to say the least.
If you trust me.
If you trust me.
Meet me on Mustafar, if you trust me.

Welcome to this week’s NXT review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and it’s time for the Jedi…to go bowling! Qui Gon Jinn: I get to throw the ball first! Obi Wan: F—k you! My name is B1G D1CK! Luke: Dad! Are you gonna play? Darth Vader: Rap is crap! Yoda: Down your throat you shall suck it! QGJ: I’m using that ball! Luke: Eat me, s—t-stain! Darth: Luke! Shake that ass! Obi: Wazzzzzzzuuuuuuuuppppppp!!!!!!!! Yoda: Puzzzzzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaawwwww!!!!!! Obi: No! My thing! Mine! Luke: Who’s first, bitches?! QGJ: Me! Me! Meeeeeeee!!!!!!! Yoda: Luke…bend over. Luke: What? Yoda: Yoda…wants to plow you. Spock: I’m not a Jedi, yet I’m here in this sketch. Highly illogical. Yoda: Gonna bite those big-ass ears, Yoda is! Darth: Spring Break! OQJ: I’m so…ronery, so ronery, so ronery and sadry arone… Obi: Haha! You’re ronery! OGJ: Die cream-puff! Luke: Killllllllll hiiiiiiiiiiiim!!!!!!! Darth: Luke…I’m cumming. Yoda: No! My cum-dumpster! Mine! Me: Okay…they didn’t even bowl. NXT starts… Spock: How did I get here? Yoda: I’M GONNA BITE YA!!!!!! Match #1: Dexter Lumis def. Johnny Gargano The following is courtesy of wwe.com: With the strangely chipper Austin Theory and the rest of The Way at ringside, Johnny Gargano sought payback for Theory’s abduction at the hands of Dexter Lumis. While Gargano turned the early tide with his usual cunning when the match spilled outside the ring by driving Lumis into the apron, Lumis rallied with his signature offense, including a bulldog and slingshot suplex. Gargano seemed to feign an injury, occupying the referee’s attention and creating an opening for Theory to bash Lumis with a chair. But Theory couldn’t pull the trigger, and Lumis recovered to drop Gargano with a side slam before taking out the North American Champion with Silence. The Score: 7 out of 10 The Good: Lumis is getting better. Gargano is still really freakin’ Italian. Molta Benne! There’s some great head-locks here and Lumis has finally begun getting interesting in the ring after…a decade? Holy s—t. I can’t believe I’ve been watching him for a decade. Gargano has a pointy nose. You could cut ass with that schnozzer. Honk! This was not quite the smartest match in the world, but attempts were made to link one move to another and, since those moves were exciting, it came together fairly well. The Bad: Lumis is still not quite ready for TV, despite getting much better. Gargano losing felt wrong, but he handled himself well in defeat. This was a match that felt like it needed a little more finesse to it. Jane Fonda could give me some finesse…if she wanted to hand out charity. Why do fools fall in love…with ferrets? I don’t really have any criticisms beyond what I already mentioned, so give me your wallet. The Verdict: This was a sturdy opener that was made memorable by having a legitimate star putting over an ever-improving prospect in Lumis. Match #2: Io Shirai def. Zoey Stark The following is courtesy of wwe.com: One week after impressing the NXT Universe in her black-and-gold brand debut, Zoey Stark turned heads again with a strong showing against the NXT Women’s Champion. But Io Shirai prevailed, sending Stark into the bottom turnbuckle to set her up for her moonsault. The combatants exchanged respect before promptly being interrupted by Toni Storm, who demanded a one-on-one opportunity for Shirai’s title — a challenge Shirai accepted. That matchup will take place in two weeks on NXT. The Score: 7 out of 10 The Good: Io carried Stark through the parts where she is still a bit dull and made the match stick together like rice on a lizard’s teat. Teat! This was mechanically some fine stuff, but lacking some of the style that you might expect from Io’s matches. The Bad: Stark is still a bit lackluster at this point, but talented nonetheless. Io wasn’t quite as dynamic as usual, but not terrible. The Verdict: Overall, not a bad second match. Match #3: Xia Li def. Kacy Catanzaro (Referee Stoppage) The following is courtesy of wwe.com: Unlike Xia Li’s other recent victims, Kacy Catanzaro dodged much of her early offense, and that unfamiliar dynamic put Li on her heels. Li eventually took control on the outside after driving her into the ringside barricade, then showed an even more vicious side than we’ve seen, stomping Catanzaro’s knee and appearing to seriously injure her and force a referee stoppage. With Li’s work apparently not done, Mei Ying seemed to signal for more, and Li obliged, leveling Catanzaro with a spin kick with the rest of Tian Sha looking on. The Score: 3 out of 10 The Good: Li smashed Kacy to death and Kacy looked convincing in death. The Bad: This wasn’t much of a match. The Verdict: Kacy is likely out dealing with a real injury, so this devastating squash is here to cover for that…I might have looked that up before I wrote this…I cheated. Match #4: Grizzled Young Veterans def. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick The following is courtesy of wwe.com: After ambushing MSK backstage and smashing Wes Lee’s hand with a chair earlier in the evening, The Grizzled Young veterans informed the NXT Universe that Lee suffered a broken hand, and they proudly claimed responsibility and celebrated their fine from NXT General Manager William Regal. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick brought a worthy fight to the runners-up of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but Zack Gibson & James Drake were too much, and they prevailed after dropping Drake with the Ticket to Mayhem. The Score: 5 out of 10 The Good: GYV smacked the tossed salad out of Dain and Maverick…hold the olives…and puppies. There was a lot of clobberin’ goin’ on, but not much beyond just some hard hits and grappling every now and then. The Bad: This was sloppy at a few points. I’d call the match rather weak in the finale. The Verdict: There’s some decent fighting in here, but not enough to make the match more than just the next on the card. Match #5: (Main Event) Karrion Kross def. Santos Escobar – No Disqualification Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com: Karrion Kross deftly caught Legado del Fantasma by surprise, taking out Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza in the parking lot, clearing the way to ram Santos Escobar into a semi trailer. Wilde and Mendoza reemerged to begin the three-on-one assault, battering the former NXT Champion against the truck. With Wilde and Mendoza leading Kross back into the Capitol Wrestling Center, Escobar let his guard down. That allowed Kross to overpower Wilde and Mendoza, sending both through the ringside plexiglass in an awesome display of power. Kross eventually overcame the numbers game and devastated Escobar with a Doomsday Saito through the announce table, then finished his foe with a devastating forearm strike to the back of the head. The Score: 8 out of 10 The Good: They brawled…a lot. This was an old-fashioned wrestling brawl, complete with more brawling. Legado del Fantasma attacked Kross the whole time and it was very effective in selling this as a fight without rules. It always felt like you never quite knew what was going to happen. This was not just a plunder fest, but a tooth-and-nail fight to the finish. The Bad: I wanted more wrestling in this, but the switch to a pure grudge match was still effective. Kross’s selling was weak, but he did attempt to look hurt at least. The Verdict: This felt like a real main event and a proper end to their feud. Major News: Adam Cole apologized to an absent Kyle O’Reilly and betrayed Roderick Strong to re-affirm that he has betrayed Undisputed Era. The Way ‘s Austin Theory is being sent to therapy after professing his love for Dexter Lumis (his kidnapper). Indi Hartwell thinks Dexter Lumis is hot. Final Verdict: 7/10 This was solid, enjoyable wrestling that held together all the way until the main event and peaked with that main event. Also, Josephus of the National Wrestling Alliance has died. You can donate money to his family at this link: https://ift.tt/3bJf4gb

Tumblr media
Monday August 16th, 6:27 am
The upbeat music plays softly through the speaker on her phone, echoing off the tiled walls of Ethan’s master bath. Genevieve sings along quietly to herself, swaying slightly to the tune as she finishes putting on her makeup.
She opens the cabinet drawer, smiling to herself at the mess inside. Her makeup is cluttered around Ethan’s things. Slowly, Gen’s makeup and clothes, phone charger and toothbrush, have found a home around the large apartment, though she doesn’t live there permanently, their lives have gradually and gracefully mingled into a blissful domesticity.
His apartment now feels more like home than her own across town and the thought makes her heart beat faster.
Gen looks up from the drawer, catching Ethan’s reflection in the large mirror. He’s leaning against the door frame, arms crossed and an amused smirk on his face.
“What?”
“Just enjoying the show.”
She gasps in mock offense, throwing a hand towel at him. His reflexes are quick, catching it with an even bigger smirk than before. Ethan leans off the wall, tossing the towel back onto the marble counter, walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. He doesn’t miss a beat, pulling her flush against his chest as his lips trail kisses down her neck. She feels his hand snake down her hip, playing with the hem of her skirt.
“Was last night not enough for you?” Gen leans her head back, getting lost in the feeling of being completely engulfed in him.
“It’s never enough for me.” Ethan moves his lips to her shoulder, kissing her with enough pressure to make her dizzy but not enough to leave a mark.
“You know what I realized earlier, I don’t remember the last time I slept at my apartment.”
“Are you complaining, Rookie?” He lifts his head, eyes meeting hers in the mirror. He’s got that look in his eyes again, the one that makes her knees tremble.
“No. Just making an observation.” Gen turns in his arms, wrapping her own around his neck.
“Well for what it’s worth, I love that you’re here all the time. My day is infinitely better when I wake up next to you.”
“Same.”
Ethan leans down, capturing her in a heady kiss. He doesn’t waste a second, pushing her back against the bathroom counter. He lifts her with ease, his hands running up her thighs and his fingers digging into her now flushed skin.
They absolutely do not have time for this, but every time she tries to pull away Ethan is quick to hold her in place.
“Ethan.” Gen mumbles against his lips, “Babe, you have a meeting in an hour.”
“And?” His lips move back to her neck, this time adding his teeth to the equation to leave a mark.
“We definitely -“ Her breath hitches as his teeth graze her collarbone and his right hand runs under her top, while the other moves higher up her thigh. “We don’t have time for this and for you to not be late.”
Ethan grumbles in disappointment, head falling against her shoulder. “I hate when you’re right.”
Gen giggles, lifting his head off her shoulder. Their eyes meet in a soft and loving gaze, their smiles small and private. She places a hand on his cheek and Ethan kisses her palm. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Not matter who many times he’s told her, or how often they utter the phrase, her heart still beats wildly. The feeling of being loved by him unlike anything she’s ever felt before.
He’s the one, she knows that for certain. Her past, her present and her future.
Ethan steps back, helping her off the counter. He places on last kiss to her forehead, squeezing her hand in his before walking to the door. “See you soon, love.”
“I’ll bring you coffee.” She winks back at him and Ethan shakes his head, disappearing into the bedroom. Gen turns back to the mirror, fixing her now wrinkled clothes and tangled hair.
Monday August 16th, 8:30 am
Sunlight filters into the office, bathing the room in a soft glow. Ethan watches the people below, eyes downcast as his mind gets lost in the memories of the morning. The meeting with Leland was nothing of what he had expected, quickly turning into a shouting match of threats and accusations. And an ultimatum that left Ethan feeling lost at sea.
End things with Genevieve or Leland fires her.
The mere thought of losing her makes Ethan’s knees weak, makes his heart constrict and the air leave his lungs in a painful rush. He should’ve seen this coming, should’ve known Leland would turn into a tyrant. But he’s been distracted, lost in his love for Gen and blind to the incoming war.
He hears the office door open, taking a deep breath to try and muster the strength to get through what he knows will be one of the worst moments of his life.
“Good morning, Dr. Ramsey. I bring you myself, your brilliantly minded girlfriend, and coffee from Derry’s.”
The sing-song in her voice feels like a million tiny pin pricks all at once. Ethan closes his eyes, taking another breath to steady the shaking in his hands. He has to turn around, face the consequences of his love for her, but he can’t. The moment he faces her, everything comes crashing down. He’ll crush her into pieces and Ethan would rather face a beast of hell then do what he has to.
“Ethan?” Her hand runs across his shoulder blades, her head tilted in concern as she comes to stand in front of him.
“We have to talk.” He can’t bring himself to look at her yet, focusing instead on swallowing back the tears that are burning behind his eyes.
“Is it about the meeting this morning? I ran into Jackie on the way in, she said it sounded intense.” Genevieve’s hand comes to rest on his cheek, her emerald eyes piercing through him like a sharpened blade as she forces him to look at her. “What happened?”
“We -” He clears his throat, stepping out of her magnetic field enough to get the rest of the words out. He’ll never be able to do it if she’s within his grasp, if she’s close enough where he can pull her into his arms.
He needs distance.
Ethan turns back to her once he’s at the other end of the office, doing his best to steady his breathing and push the lump in his throat down enough to speak. “We have to end things between us. That’s what the meeting was about, Leland threatened to fire you if I don’t break things off.”
“Why? I don’t understand.” Her voice cracks with disbelief and panic, taking a few steps towards him.
The closer she gets, the easier it is to see the tears sitting on her lash line, like tiny droplets of agony ready to fall at any moment.
“Does it really matter why, Gen?”
“Yes. Is it because you’re my boss? No one else cares, Naveen doesn’t care.”
“No, it had nothing to do with that.” Ethan pinches the bridge of his nose, forcing himself to look away from her. He knew it wouldn’t be easy, but it’s proving to be harder than he thought. “He feels that you’re a distraction to the mission, that I’m not focused enough on the team or finding a cure for Caroline. And he’s not wrong, Gen. I am distracted by you, I always have been.”
“That doesn’t make sense. It wasn’t a problem last year, we’ve always been able to keep things professional in the hospital.” She’s crying now, mascara running down her cheeks in a steady stream of muted black, and it feels like a punch in the gut.
He never wanted to be the cause of her pain, but here he was - slowly but surly breaking her heart.
“Well, Leland thinks otherwise, Genevieve.” The words come out harsher than he intended, the pain his tone causes her written all over her face.
Ethan lets out a shaky breath, slowly walking back to her. The sunlight from the windows illuminates the tears on her cheeks. He wants to reach out and brush them away, pull her into his arms and pretend like they’re still standing in his bathroom, smiling at each other with untethered love.
He gives into the itch in his fingers, cupping her cheek in his hand as his thumb runs across her skin. “We both knew this was a possibility.”
“Bullshit.” Genevieve steps away from him, his hand still raised in a failed attempt to keep her close.
“Gen,” Ethan walks towards her, but she backs away. “Your career is on the line.”
“I don’t care. I want you. I love you”
“I love you, too. But -”
“No.” Her eyes glow with anger, but her face is full of heartbreak.
“Gen, I love you, you know that I do.” He reaches for her again, the need to touch her dancing like a live wire under his skin. “And that’s exactly why I won’t let you jeopardize your career.”
“If you loved me you’d fight for me. For us.” Gen smacks his hand away, but it feels like a slap in the face.
“This is me fighting for you. I’m putting your career ahead of what I want.”
“If you really wanted me, you’d find a way to make it work.” She turns away from him, her firsts clenched at her sides.
He doesn’t want to be angry with her, he shouldn’t be, but her refusal to see things clearly is maddening.“Don’t you dare say I don’t want you. Don’t put words in my mouth. For one minute can you put your feelings aside and think rationally.”
Ethan walks to her, grabbing her arms to spin her around. Her cheeks are tear stained, her eyes red, and he has to push down the need to kiss her pain away. “Leland has the power to destroy everything you’ve worked for, I won’t let that happen. And neither should you.”
“So we’ll find a way, you’re worth the risk, we’re worth the risk. You said that yourself.” The assertion in her voice a complete contrast to the sorrow on her face. A look he knows will haunt him.
“I know I did, and you’re worth any risk - but not the risk of losing your job.”
“We’ll lie and say we broke up, and just go back to dating in secret.” She inches closer, their faces only a hairsbreadth apart. Her grip on his arms is tight, like he’s her lifeline.
“No. I won’t do that to you. You deserve more than a clandestine affair.” He has to turn his head, once again break the magnetism that always pulls them together.
Genevieve grabs his face before he can turn away fully, her grip tight against his jaw as she brings their lips together. He shouldn’t kiss her, shouldn’t let his arms wrap around her waist to bring her closer. But he does, because he knows it's the last time. Possibly for the rest of his life.
She’ll never forgive him for this.
“Please, I love you.” Her cheeks are flushed, her lips red from the force of their kiss, “I don’t want to be without you, there has to be a way around this.”
“There isn’t.” The words come out hoarse and rough, his voice lost in the shadows of pain.
“If you let me walk out that door, we’re done, Ethan. For good.” Gen steps away from him again, her words cutting like a sharped knife. “I won’t come back.”
Ethan swallows hard, their eyes meet in a battle of determination. She’s daring him to fight her, defy Leland’s threat and throw caution to the wind. He wants to.
Oh, how he wants to.
“There’s nothing we can do. We have to end this, it’s the only way to save your career.”
“You’d rather save my job than find a way to save us?” She pauses, the fire in her eyes blazing through the tears on her face. “Fine. Consider us over.”
Gen turns from him quickly, taking the keys out of her pocket. She tosses the key to his apartment on the table, the metallic sound hitting with the finality of her decision in his empty office.

The Mandalorian/Din Djarin x f!OC

Tumblr media
Several more shots were fired through the glass at random. We all dove to find a safe hiding spot away from the blasts. We were all safe, but the client and the stormtroopers all laid dead on the ground.
This certainly couldn't be the work of the Mandalorians, they would have relocated by now. No, this was someone else out to get us. But why their own cohorts?
Once the firing slowed down to a stop, we snuck our way closer to the gaping hole in the wall to get a better view. The smoke cleared and standing in a straight line in front of the building were a series of stormtroopers, only these ones were covered in a black armor.
Something I had yet to see before.
"Four stormtroopers?" Cara ridiculed as a flurry of troopers unloaded and swarmed around the building. "This is bad."
"Kuiil?" Din asked into the small com. "Are you back to the ship yet? Are you there? Do you copy?"
"Yes." He confirmed through the link.
"Are you back to the ship yet." Din asked again.
         "Not yet."
"Get back to the ship and bail. Get the kid out of here. We're pinned down."
I moved closer to Din, desperately grasping at his arm. "What if he doesn't-"
         "Don't talk like that."
         "But, if-"
A large TIE fighter landed beside the building, the air rushing through the now open window as it settled on the ground. A sick feeling grew in my stomach once the hatch released and out climbed a man clad in black armor and a cape.
It resembled the late Darth Vader, but not quite as intimidating. Nonetheless, his presence alone activated a fight or flight response in me. Somehow, I chose the secret third option: freeze.  I couldn't seem to move even if I tried.
"You have something I want." He declared.
Cara looked over at us, eyes wide and full of confusion. "Who's this guy?"
"You may think you have some idea of what you are in possession of, but you do not." He resumed his dramatic speech.
I snatched the com from Din, my hands shaking as I spoke into it. "Kuiil, are you back yet? They know we're here and it's only a matter of time before they know where you are." There was nothing. "Kuiil?"
"In a few moments, they will be mine." His voice was low and menacing.
"Kuiil? Kuiil, please!" I practically begged.
"They mean more to me than you will ever know."
"Are you there? Do you copy? You have to be there, please, Kuiil." My voice broke as I received no response.
I glanced up to finally get a good look at the man before us, my eyes glazing over with tears. He grinned, a sick and twisted smile.
         No.
It couldn't be. It can't be. He was dead, he was supposed to be, at least. The final shreds of the Empire were supposed to be obliterated yet here he stood; tall and proud like he knew what I was thinking.
Cara looked around in a panic. "Is there another way out?"
"No, that's it." Greef's tone was full of disappointment and sorrow as we hid.
"Wait." I paused. "The sewers. Are there any entrances in here?"
Greef's face scrunched up in disgust. "Sewers?"
Din nodded. "The Mandalorians have a covert down in the sewers. If we can get down there, they can help us escape."
"Yeah," Cara spoke breathlessly, "sewers are good."
"Checking for access points." He scanned the area carefully through his visor.
"What the hell are they waiting for?" Cara's anticipation was growing with every second. Honestly, mine was too.
"Probably some big gun to intimidate us." I shrugged.
Apparently I had spoken just a few seconds too soon.
Just as I opened my mouth, they began carrying in the pieces to a large, mounted gun. It was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.
"Hold up." Her eyes widened and her voice became distant as she slumped against the wall. "They're setting up an E-Web."
That's when it clicked. For all of us, I assume, but there was something else. I was overwhelmed with a sense of déjà vu. I had been in this situation before, I had felt this fear before. It was a dream - or, a vision, I guess.
I didn't think it was possible, I didn't think it was real. This was all one big nightmare and soon, I would wake back up in Coruscant with no other worries but what I would show Din next.
         "It's over." Greef sighed.
"I found the sewer vent." Din spoke up with a few words of hope.
Cara's chest rose and fell faster than before, all of our anxiousness was out in the open. "Let's get the hell out of here."
We rushed over and pulled the cushion away from the wall. The vent was bolted tightly to the wall. We couldn't loosen it no matter what we tried.
"It's assembled!" Greef warned. "How long until that thing's cleared?"
"Let's blow it up." I breathed out with a shrug.
Din shook his head. "I'm out of charges."
"Get out of the way!" Cara urged and fired the large gun at the vent in attempt to destroy its integrity.
Not even that could weaken it.
"Your astute panic suggests that you understand your situation."
The air had grown shallow. I couldn't breathe or think or-
"I would prefer to avoid any further violence, and encourage a moment of consideration. Members of my escort have completed assembly of an E-Web heavy repeating blaster."
I was going to be sick, I was sure of it. We were dead. Or, at least we were about to be.
"If you are unfamiliar with this weapon, I am sure that Republican Shock Trooper Carasynthia Dune of Alderaan will advise you that she has witnessed many of her ranks vaporize mid-descent facing the predecessor of this particular model."
And he was just going to keep going, taunting our death with his words.
"Or perhaps the decommissioned Mandalorian hunter, Din Djarin, has heard the songs of the Siege of Mandalore, when gunships outfitted with similar ordnance laid waste to fields of Mandalorian recruits in The Night of a Thousand Tears."
We were facing our end and yet we were stuck, unmoving and unwilling to do anything to fight it. There had to be something we could do. We can't just stand here and do nothing.
"I'm sure the young Jedi, Myrah Koor, could also help you in knowing the fields of soldiers that have been eliminated during the Galactic Civil War. A war that she sat by and watched while her friends were eradicated without a strong enough defense that she could have provided."
There was a sharp stinging pain in my eyes that I tried desperately to hold back. All of our secrets were laid out in front of us on display.
"I advise disgraced Magistrate Greef Karge to search the wisdom of his years and urge you to law down your arms and come outside. The structure you are trapped in will be razed in short order and your storied lives will come to an unceremonious end."
We sat in momentary silence as the words weighed down on us. Our lives, our secrets that we kept hidden away were out in the open and no one dared to speak up about it.
Finally, Greef shouted back to the man. "What do you propose?"
         He grinned. "Reasonable negotiation."
         "What assurance do you offer?"
"If you're asking if you can trust me, you cannot. Just as you betrayed our business arrangement, I would gladly break any promise and watch you die at my hand." He practically hissed through his teeth.
"The assurance I give it this: I will act in my own self-interest, which at this time, involves your cooperation and benefit. I will give you until nightfall, and then I will have the E-Web cannon open fire." He spun with the flip of his cape and left for his fighter.
I slumped against the wall, falling to the ground. Moff Gideon would pay for his crimes. I swore to that once and I will swear to it again. I would no longer live in fear of him or the Empire.
Now I just had to figure out how to deal with the whole 'Jedi' thing.
"I say we hear him out." Greef suggested, turning to look back at us.
Cara moved back to hide behind the bar where the stormtroopers had fallen. "The minute we open that door, we're dead."
"We're dead if we don't. At least out there, we've got a shot."
Din crouched next to me, his shadow covering my body and blocking the light that hit my face from the window. Greef and Cara continued to argue while we simply sat in a heavy, somewhat awkward silence.
"I'm sorry." I barely managed to whisper, wanting more than anything to wrap my arms around him and hold him tight. I wanted to tell him that I was wrong for keeping a secret but that everything would be alright.
But I couldn't lie to him.
I only hoped that he wasn't aware of what a Jedi was.
"What about you, Mando?" Greef interrupted us, well, I guess there wasn't much to interrupt.
"I know who he is." He sighed and rose to his feet. "It's Moff Gideon."
"No." Cara refused. "Moff Gideon was executed for war crimes."
"It's him. He knew my name."
"So?" Greef shrugged as though it was something so simple. To us, it was, but not to him. "What does that prove?"
"Only one person has spoken that name since I was a child." His helmet shifted back to my spot on the ground as I watched them talk.
         "On Mandalore?"
"I was not born on Mandalore."
"But you're a Mandalorian." For someone so wise, I was a bit surprised that he didn't know about the secrets to the group.
Cara spoke up, surprisingly calm. "Mandalorian isn't a race."
"It's a creed." I mumbled and pulled myself up from the ground. "More of a religion or group. You don't have to be born into it, you just have to respect their ways."
"I was a foundling." Din carried on. "They raised me in the Fighting Corps. I was treated as one of their own. When I came of age, I was sworn to the Creed. The only record of my family name was in the registers of Mandalore. Moff Gideon was an ISB Officer during the purge. That's how I know it's him."
"That's how he knows who we all are." Cara scoffed as she stood.
"He says he needs us, which means the child got away safely. I was worried when the Ugnaught didn't respond, but if they'd captured the kid, we'd already be dead."
"I wouldn't be so sure." I fiddled with the com in my hand, receiving nothing but silence. "Kuiil?" I asked into the mic. There was still nothing.
Cara hid and held her gun close to her body. "They might have jammed the link."
The com broke through with a static-y giggle, a happy, baby giggle, followed by a familiar robotic voice.
         "Kuiil has been terminated."
Din ripped the com link from my hand, his voice harsh as he spoke. "What did you do?"
"I am fulfilling my base function."
         "Which is?"
         "To nurse and protect."
He grumbled and stuffed the communicator in his belt, replacing it for his blaster in his hand.
         "Din-" I tried.
"Not now." He snapped. I felt a bit broken at the tone of his voice, but held my head high.
Blaster fire filled the city, I could hear its sound echo off the walls as it slowly approached. A speeder bike flew by, carrying IG-11 and the child along with it.
It jumped from the bike and began firing freely at the surrounding stormtroopers while protecting the child. Din looked over to Cara, holding his blaster high as he prepared himself.
         "Cover us."
She threw herself onto the bar while we moved towards the door. Din stood still for a moment, just waiting to press the button to open the door.
         "Be careful." He whispered. "Please."
He didn't give me even a moment to respond before the door slid open.  Without casting them a glance, he pushed down the barrel of the trooper's gun and fired a shot to his head. His foot landed firmly against another's chest and knocked him back while he shot down another.
Greef pushed past me while I stood still for another second, taking it all in before diving head first like some people. The corners of my mouth twitched into a small grin despite my force against it. I would never get over watching him fight. He moved with grace and expertise in every battle.
In a way, I envied him. In another way, I knew it was much more than that. An appreciation, I suppose.
I stepped in and helped with the fight, using the staff at my hip to whack the troopers that gathered around the three of us. I managed to land a solid hit on one with my hand held out towards another. It dropped its weapon to the ground and choked on the air that was squeezed from its throat before I dropped its lifeless body back to the ground.
Now that it was out in the open, I saw no harm in using a bit of the Force to help if needed. That's what it was there for, right?
In the midst of tossing one of them against the stone wall, I heard the rapid fire of the E-Web behind me. Instantly, I ducked, fully expecting to feel its powerful blast, but once I saw Din standing behind the gun, I knew it would never come.
I continued to assist in the fight, taking down any leftover wanderers that I could find. It still felt like there were far too many. We were severely outnumbered, but of course, we didn't know unless we fought. Besides, it never deterred us before.
A shot echoed off of the beskar armor, my eyes quickly darting to its origin where Moff Gideon stood. He spun around and aimed the large machine towards him, but it seemed like Gideon's mind was elsewhere.
         "Din!" I shouted. "Look out!"
It was too late. I already felt the tension in my head as the ringing of the explosion filled my ears. He was tossed back from the blast, receiving a nasty blow to the head on his way towards the ground.
"NO!" I screamed and ran to him as fast as I could, struggling to even lift his upper body off the ground. "Cara! Greef! Please!" I cried out.
Cara rushed over and hauled him inside while we all slowly entered after her, making sure the door would lock behind us.
"Stay with me, buddy." She grunted as she set him down, hiding him behind the knocked over tables. "We're gonna get you out of here."
I collapsed next to him, my fingers pushing past the fabric that surrounded him to search for his pulse. My heart was racing, all of my thoughts were clouded by him.
He had to be safe, he had to be fine. We have been through worse, he would make it through this. My chest rose and fell rapidly as I struggled to keep my breathing steady. It felt like my lungs were collapsing in on themselves.
         Please.
                   Please be okay.

Okay look I really wanted to see Cal so maybe something Cal?? Like maybe he’s holding reader after something scary happens or while she cries (cause I’m currently crying after that new episode) love you lots 🥺
Tumblr media
Oh, I’m always soft for Cal. The best boy! I’ve got some softness right here for you 🥺
Star Wars Masterlist
»»————- ♡ ————-««
You sat up rod straight in your bed as you tried to gauge your surroundings and figure out exactly where you were. You breathing was ragged as you clutched your wildly fluttering heart and came to the conclusion that you were safe. Safe and sound in your own bed as Cal slept away next to you. He seemed nonplussed as he remained still, his chest rising and falling in a steady fashion, light snores emanating from his mouth.
Safe.You were safe.
But the visions and dreams that plagued your sleep often seemed so real, so vivid and technicolor that you were almost positive that they were real. The flashes of the red saber and the heavy breathing of the Sith Lord called Darth Vader seemed like they never subsided. More often than not, you were left tossing and turning throughout the night. Ever since Cal’s acquisition and destruction of the Holocron, the minor pull to the dark side that was ever present seemed to grow stronger and stronger.
And no matter how much you mediated, to try to clear your heart and mind of the anger and fear you were hanging onto, it never seemed to work. Maybe for a day or so, but then the nightmares were right back and plaguing your mind. And you hoped that’s all they were and would remain. You didn’t want to think about what it mean if they were more than just dreams.
Sighing heavily, you wiped away the already drying rears, before slipping out of bed to make your way to the kitchen. BD-1 must have sensed your sudden presence because he immediately was at your side as you filled a tall glass with fresh, ice cold water. Offering him a weak smile, you quickly downed it all and almost slammed the glass down on the counter. The small droid chirped eagerly as you bent down and got closer to his level.
“I don’t know,” you admitted, answering his question as gave him a pat, “I’m sure it’ll get better soon. It’s just me."
The small droid offered you a series of small beeps of reassurance before he perched next to your leg. Picking him up, you held him against your chest in a tight hug, already feeling better.
"I don't want to worry Cal," you murmured softly, "he's already got so much on his mind. I don't need to worry him about this too."
He made a small sound as you nodded in understanding, "I know. If it doesn't get better soon, I'll tell him. For now I want to give him a break too. He's been through just as much as we have, if not more."
He looked at you with such gentleness that you almost forgot he wasn't a person, but a droid. Although, he was much more than just a droid. He was a part of the little family you'd made with Cal and the rest of the Mantis crew. BD worked his way onto your shoulder and a sense of warmth immediately washed over you. At least there was someone in the galaxy that you could talk to.
Its not that you didn't want to tell Cal, but he needed rest too. He'd been through so much both mentally and physically, and he deserved the rest. Your little fears were not significant enough to further worry him with. Not yet anyway.
"If it doesn't get better I'll tell him soon," you promised yourself and BD. He made a small trill of agreement as you walked back to your bedroom in order to try and get some actual rest. If nothing else, the feeling of Cal's body next to you would be grounding and calming.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
Your throat felt tight. Tighter than it ever had. Black dots and a soft haze started to cloud your vision. Each breath became harder and harder, more ragged with every inhale. Your chest was on fire, and yet there was nothing you could do.
You tried to scream, for help, for Cal, but nothing happened.
Your hand went to your throat as you tried to make any sort of sound. The silence was deafening, but then out of the darkness you felt it. A hand on your shoulder, squeezing it tightly before you heard it. That modulated breathing that sent shivers up and down your spine.
And then -
"Turn," it was a single word that was enough to cause your heart to constrict as it echoed throughout the blackened space, "turn, turn, turn."
As you tried to wander and navigate the darkness, you felt your body being jostled. It was so startling that suddenly your eyes opened and vision cleared into the bleary darkness of the late night hours.
"Hey, hey, hey," Cal's hand was on your arm as he gently moved to wake you up, "honey-"
Once you realized you were in the sanctity of your bedroom, you calmed down, even if it was just for the moment.
Turning to face him, a small broken sob escaped your lips as you looked at the concerned expression of your lover.
"Cal," it was a soft, broken whisper as he pulled you into his lap and wrapped his arms tightly around your frame. He rubbed a hand up and down your back in soothing circles as you cried into his shoulder, the fabric of his shirt immediately becoming wet with tears.
"Its okay," he promised with a kiss to the side of your head, "I've got you."
You wished you could have more easily expressed your words, how scared you were, but all you could do was cry as he held you, whispering soft words of love and reassurance in your ear. Ever the gentle and caring man that he was, he didn't pressure you to speak or open up. Instead, he let you get it all out, and held onto you as tightly as possibly, trying to radiate all of his love onto you.
Eventually, when you were all cried out and felt exhaustion slowly washing over your tired bones and heart, you pulled back and looked into his soft eyes.
"Cal," your voice was dry and harsh as he reached up and delicately wiped away the remainder of your tears. He rested his hand on your cheek as he worked to bring you back into reality and ground you. You keened into his touch before pressing your forehead against his and eventually giving him a sweet kiss. He tasted familiar, sweet but always with a hint of mint. He was your comfort, your heart and home, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to wake you up."
"You have nothing to apologize for," he said with the smallest hint of a laugh, "you were having a nightmare. You can't help that."
"I know," you sighed as you felt your eyes start to burn with the sting of tears again. He senses what was going on, putting a hand to the back of your neck as he gently cradled your head. His soft touch - comfort - was enough to send you over the edge as you began crying again, "I-I was so scared, Cal."
"What happened?" his voice was low and gentle as he did his best to soothe you, "in the nightmare?"
"I.. they're been happening a lot," you admitted, "ever since you destroyed the Holocron."
"What?! Sweet girl - why haven't you said anything?" Cal was in awe as he tried to possibly imagine all the pain and hurt you'd been dealing with on your own. He would have taken it all away from you in an instant.
"I didn't want to bother you," you hiccuped through your tears, "you deserve rest too, my love. You of all people..."
"As do you," he promised, "I want you to know that whatever it is, you can always wake me up or anything. I am with you always."
"I love you," you whispered as you carded a hand through his ginger locks, "thank you for everything. For loving me. All of it."
"I love you too," he replied with a soft kiss, "whats been going on - in your nightmares? You've been having them often, haven't you?"
"Yes," you let out a long, tired sigh, "they're always about the same thing..."
"Vader," he finished for you, sensing that it had to be what seemed to haunt you. You gnawed on your bottom lip as you nodded, "he’s been in my nightmares too. Not as often, but he's there."
"I can feel it," you let it all out before deciding to hold anything back from him, "the pull...to the dark - away from the light. It scares me sometimes."
"I feel it too," he said as a way of reassurance, "and so does Cere. Its normal, you know it is. We all experience it in different ways. But it doesn't mean anything. As long as we remember who we are."
"Okay," you searched his eyes, although as it desperately trying to see if he was being honest. You show nothing but honesty and adoration staring back at you. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you held him as close as physically possible, "I don't know what I'd do without you, Cal."
"I feel the same about you," he pressed a kiss to the side of your head, "you'll always get through everything together. I promise. You have me - always."
Before you could say anything else, a soft beeping meet your ears from the foot of the bed. You both turned to find BD look excitedly at the two of you.
"Come on," you motioned for the small droid to join on and he wasted no time in hoping up on the bed and settling down on your pillow, "hi, BD. Thank you for always being there too."
"Don't know what we'd do without you, buddy," Cal agreed as he laid back down and pulled you down to lay on top of your chest. He wrapped his arms around your middle as your laid on his chest, "we should all try and get some rest. We all deserve it."
"Love you Cal," you murmured sleeping, already feeling sleep wash over you again. This time you knew it would be better, much better in the safety of your lover's arms, "and you too, BD."

What I thought about “Agony of a Witch” from The Owl House
...Well crap. I guess I am reviewing every episode of The Owl House from now on...ARE YOU HAPPY WRITERS?! ARE YOU PROUD OF YOURSELVES?! ARE YOU SATISFIED?!
...
Anyways, salutations random people on the internet who probably won't read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons. And today, I'm reviewing the penultimate episode of The Owl House’s first season: "Agony of a Witch." It goes without saying at this point, but there are going to be HUGE spoilers for both not only the episode but the entire series as a whole. So if you haven't checked out The Owl House yet, I highly recommend you do so. It's an incredible show, and the next episode is the season finale. So now's your last chance to get all caught up. With that done and over with, let's get started, shall we?
WHAT I LIKE
That opening scene: These first few minutes perfectly sets the tone for the episode. The best example of how the tone is set is with the music. Or rather, lack thereof. The establishing shots of Belos' castle could have had grand and imposing music that gives "The Imperial March" a run for its money. But honestly, the pure silence says so much more about how serious this scene than any background motif could. Because while music does an excellent job of telling us how we should feel, no music means that the right feelings are already met. And in this case, the feelings are dread and terror.
But another thing that perfectly sets the tone is the fact that there aren't any jokes in this scene. If you had to ask me, I'd say that The Owl House is a comedy series with drama and story on the side. This is because the opening scene of every episode begins with trying to make the audience laugh with one or two jokes. That is every episode except for this one. Because "Agony of a Witch" does not open with any jokes leaving the audience with laughter. It begins with an ominous threat and leaving the audience in fear. All of which perfectly sets up how gutwrenching this episode is going to be.
Hooty’s an actual security system: But luckily, it doesn't take too long for the laughs to come right on back.
When it was implied that Hooty was the security system that Eda had set for her house, I never understood how or why. But now I do! Because it turns out that Hooty acts as a force of chaos that just annoys his enemies into submission. And I'm gonna level with you for a second: This scene helps make Hooty a fantastic character. For the most part, I find Hooty an annoying character. And it's partially due to his voice...mostly due to his voice...it's because of his voice. But, I'm sorry, a character wins points for me by accidentally beating an army without even knowing they're fighting.
I don't make the rules. I just abide by them.
“It’s because he’s got the hots for you, isn’t it?”: I like the fact that I pointed this out as a joke in my last review, only for this episode to not only address it but almost immediately dismiss it.
Plus, Eda winking with finger guns is always a win. Again, I don't make the rules.
Eda joking about the curse being a fate worse than death: Some people might make the audacious claim that joking about a fate worse than death soils the mood. And I would agree with that if this was actually a joke. Instead, it feels more like Eda is brushing off the tension by trying to laugh at it. That is something that many people-myself included-do to make people we care about feel better. To me, it feels pretty clear that Eda laughs about her situation so that Luz doesn't worry about her mentor. This shows how much Luz means to Eda, and we see something similar/more impactful near the end that cements that fact. For now, this "joke" is actually a great character moment when you take a second to analyze it.
Luz’s plan to steal the Healing Hat: Staying on track of development, let's talk about how much this scene reflects growth with Luz and Eda's relationship. Luz's willingness to steal from the emperor, and break who knows how many laws in the process, shows how much Luz cares about Eda. It's sweet to think about, even though it comes by Luz making the dumbest decision in her life. And while Luz's plan would ordinarily be a dislike, what turns things around is the fact that there are immediate consequences to Luz's actions. Eda's curse being permanent? Eda getting captured? Luz nearly dying?! All of this would have been avoided if Luz just stuck with the group instead of working on impulse. And there's not a doubt in my mind that's what she was thinking during her long trek home (more on that later). So, yeah. While Luz's plan was misguided, it still has the sweetest of intentions while also showing kids that bad stuff happens when you don't think things through.
Amity staying at home: Narratively speaking, this was a great decision. Amity acts as the voice of reason to Luz's antics. So if she went on the trip too, then she would have talked Luz out of the heist. And the writers found a brilliant workaround by having Amity break her leg in the last episode, to work as an excuse for why she isn't in this one. In fact, let's add more points to "Wing it Like Witches" for planning ahead. That alone makes it more clear about how that episode isn't filler.
Eda knits the cape for Luz: While Luz stealing the Healing Hat shows how much Eda means to her, Eda knitting the cape shows the feelings are very much mutual. It's made pretty evident in the beginning that Eda's planning to use the magic silk to protect herself. So having her instantly make the cape for Luz without a second thought is just the sweetest thing. And you know what? Who's to say that Eda wasn't planning to make the cape anyway? And Eda saying that the silk was for her was just a diversion to throw Luz off? Because if that's the case, then boy does that ending break my heart even more.
(Also, this acts as a fantastic setup for why Luz has a cape that makes her invulnerable to the Emperor's magic in the next episode. At least, I think that's the case going off of what Eda says in the beginning.)
The picture of Luz: Ok, am I the only one who would absolutely love an explanation for this picture? Yeah, it's obvious that Luz got into an eating contest to the death, but how did she even get stuck in this contest? Why was she even in this contest? And why was Eda so proud of this moment that she decided to frame it?
Screw the fanfictions of angst and/or Lumity fluff. Someone write a fanfic about THAT!
The tour of the castle: I talked about in my "Wing it Like Witches" review that I like how the show uses teaching the students as a way to give lore to the audience. And that's what Kikimora's tour does. It uses the student's willingness to learn as a way for the fans to learn more about the lore of the show. However, while these bits of background information is nice and all, there's one question I want to bring up:
How honest is this little history lesson about Emperor Belos? Because do you know who’s the one that can make sure history remembers Belos as a kind and just ruler who united the Boiling Isles? My guess is it's the same person who appointed himself as emperor.
Just a little thing to think about, if you ask me.
The Room of Relics: Gonna tell ya the truth: Seeing all of those relics made the inner child in me go, "Oooh. Shiney."
I'm not kidding when I say that I would love to learn more about each of those relics we see in this episode. I want to learn more about each relic's origins, which track they belong to, and what the hell they even do. And it's not often that I feel this way. Hell, I'm mostly the guy who never gives a crap about lore. But you better believe that if Dana Terrace ever writes a book explaining all of these relics, that I'll be the first to buy it.
Emperor Belos: ...Eep…
I'm not kidding when I say that "Eep" is the best way for me to describe Emperor Belos. The reason that makes Belos feel like a terrifying and opposing character is the same way Darth Vader and Thanos are terrifying and opposing. He's a character that feels like a force of nature that is so powerful, he could probably kill you just by blinking. And it's no wonder why Lilith was so terrified to fail him in the last episode. I'd be terrified just to look at the man without his permission! And that was before it was implied that he sacrifices witches who are covenless!
But, Belos frightening the crap out of me isn't the only reason why he's an excellent villain. What makes him great is that in his debut scene, we learn so much about him...and yet have so many more questions. Like, how can he talk to the titan? What's up with the giant beating heart on top of his throne? Why is he sacrificing witches and discarded palisman to give him power? What the f**k is up with the giant beating heart on top of his throne? Why are there pipes littered throughout his castle? AND WHAT! THE F**K! IS UP! WITH THE GIANT! BEATING! HEART! ON! TOP! OF! HIS! THRONE?!?!
Questions like these help make Belos more interesting of a character that I would love to learn more about. Even though seeing him makes me physically shrink in my chair.
Gus being told that he’s already his best self: I mean, this is just sweet. My man Gus needs more love, dang it!
Eda vs. Lilith: It's like the animators saw the first fight between Eda and Lilith and asked, "How can we make this more awesome?" Turns out, the answer is to make the fight more like an anime than the first one. And MAN, was it successful! However, being epic is not the main reason why it's a captivating fight scene. Because as excellent as it was to see Eda and Lilith fight for the first time, their battle lacked one crucial element that’s in their second fight: Tension. Eda's curse getting worse with each spell and Luz being in constant danger adds so much more tension to this fight. And as a result, it becomes more entertaining to watch Eda fight knowing the odds are highly stacked against her. Because even though Eda was destined to lose, you still hope for the best that she'll somehow win. Which makes her ultimate defeat all the more heartbreaking.
LILITH CURSED EDA?!: What?! WHAT?!
I mean, I expected Eda to lose and get captured. That was something I saw a mile away since watching the promo a few months ago. But revealing that Lilith is the one who cursed Eda?! I could have never predicted that! It was such a shocking revelation that I cannot wait to see how the show handles this going forward. Because, the way I see it, Eda is cutting ties with Lilith after this episode. Even if Lilith has some sort of logical explanation, none of it will matter to Eda. Hell, it already doesn't matter to the fans, who are already jumping on the "Kick Lilith's teeth in" train. As for me, I'm going to wait for the actual explanation before I make any judgments. It is made pretty clear that Lilith regrets what she's done in not only in this episode but through small interactions with Eda in the past. It might not justify her actions, but I am still willing to hear the full story before I come to the conclusion that Lilith must burn in hell. Unless her reasoning was petty revenge or jealousy. In which case, I would like to introduce Lilith to my good friend Frederick Ulisinsburg.
*Lifts up middle finger*
You can call him F.U. for short.
Eda’s goodbye to Luz: Everything about this moment is gutwrenching perfection. I want to start off by talking about the fact that Eda smiles as she's saying goodbye. Earlier I touched upon that Eda joked about having a fate worse than death was an attempt to relieve tension off of Luz. And it's the same thing here. Eda smiling is the only way she can convey to Luz that everything's going to be ok so that her protege won't be upset about their situation. There are just two things that betray Eda during this sentiment. The first is her voice. You can tell that Eda is trying her best to stay emotionally stable for Luz, but it's clear how she's really feeling through each crack in her voice. And credit goes to Wendie Malick for giving such a marvelous performance in this scene. The second thing that betrays Eda is her eyes. Every ounce of pain and sadness that Eda is feeling at this moment can be seen through her eyes. Don't believe me? Then watch this scene again, cover Eda's mouth, and focus on the eyes. You'll see what I'll mean.
And her last word to Luz being "Thank you for being in my life." That cuts deep man...IT CUTS DEEP...GAH!
Luz walks home: It's the moments that you don't experience that can have the most weight to them. We, as the audience, have no idea what happened with Luz as she walked all the way back to the Owl House. But the things we can imagine are much worse. The guilt Luz must be feeling during this walk, as every awful thing that she experienced replays in her mind, like a broken record. The idea of Luz going through something like that just...It just breaks the heart.
“Where’s Eda?”: It's the innocent way that King asks this question is what makes it sad. It shows the childlike naivety in King's character, and imagining what his reaction would be to the truth, makes it even more tear jerking.
Luz cries: Nope. Nope! NOPE!
I will accept a lot of things from this episode. Eda getting captured? Sure. Luz having a literal guilt trip? Why not? King getting to learn the hard way about what happened to Eda? Go for it! But you know what I won't accept? LUZ F**KING CRYING! I'm being one-hundred percent serious when I say that it physically hurts to look at that one single image. Even just thinking about it is enough to make me misty-eyed. And I HATE IT! I mean, I love it because the show successfully made me feel the exact emotions that I should feel. BUT I HATE IT!
WHAT I DISLIKED
I honestly wish I could say that there is nothing that I dislike about this episode. I really do. But there is one small thing that-very briefly-took enjoyment out of the episode. And that’s-
The Kids easily sneaking past the guards: Don't get me wrong, the funny antics that our trio pull off are very entertaining. But it shines a bad light on the Emperor's coven, when the best of the best witches get outsmarted by three children. Plus, this is the penultimate episode of the season. I'm not sure goofy hijinks are the way you want to go. Because while The Owl House is a comedy series, even the funniest of comedies know when to make jokes and when to be serious.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But despite that one complaint, I still give this episode an A+. It was emotionally draining, and it makes both more excited and incredibly terrified for the season finale. Because we now know the stakes for the next episode. The question is, how will Luz survive.
Now, I'm sure there are people out there who probably hate this episode, and probably the whole series if you want to get into it. And to those people: I feel bad for you. And I'm not saying that as a joke or as a snarky remark. I legitimately feel bad for you. Because I felt a whole range of emotions not just with one episode, not just with one scene, but with one single frame of animation. That image of Luz crying was more effective in getting a reaction out of me than anything else that came out this year. And the idea that some of you won't feel the same way fills me with even more Agony.

Home- Chapter 16 (Kylo Ren/ Ben Solo x F!Oc)
A/N: Omg, we're almost done, this gets good
Words: 2,291
Masterlist:
Chapter 15 // Chapter 17
Tumblr media
We all got out quickly and luckily we got to our ship. In the cabin, Poe inserts a medallion. A gift from Zurii, a key that can bypass the barriers of First Order systems.
The ship lands in the area of the enemy Destroyer and the four of us leave, the first guards are eliminated and as we continue through the corridors of the ship, Rey is responsible for confusing another Stormtroopers, making them believe that it’s okay for us to be here, and to be told where chewie is, which works and we run through the halls, shooting any enemy soldier until we reach a door, where we are told that Chewbacca is.
Finn is in charge of opening the hatch, but before continuing I feel a chill and turn towards Rey, who begins to walk in the opposite direction.
"Rey?" I ask.
"The Dagger is on this ship. We need it,” she answers.
"Why?"
"A feeling. I’ll meet you back at the hangar,” She says looking at me.
"I'm not part of this, am I?" I have a bad feeling. Rey continues on her way.
“Where are you going? What's going on?" Finn asks me.
"I don't know, but I'm sure she knows what she's doing."
"But-"
"Come on, let's not waste any more time,” Poe cuts him off.
The three of us follow the course with blasters in hand until, finally, we found Chewie, who is handcuffed, but growls with joy at seeing us.
"Of course we came for you, Chewie," says Poe.
As soon as he is released, I feel his huge, furry arms wrap around me tightly.
"I am also happy to see you, friend."
Poe and Finn help him walk and when he stabilizes, we run to get out of here.
"The ship’s this way. Follow me.” Finn says going ahead, but the stormtroopers interrupt us and force us to change course. "Wrong way!"
"There’s not really a right way, is there?" Poe answers going to the other side "Can't you do Rey’s trick?" he says as we run.
"There are too many and everyone’s ready to shoot me before I can raise my hand."
The battle continues and seems to have no end.
"We close?" Poe asks.
"Straight ahead," Finn answers.
In one connection, Poe steps forward, but a Stormtrooper manages to shoot him in the arm causing him to fall to the ground.
"Poe!" Finn and I yell at the same time.
Chewie gets rid of some soldiers while I bend down to check Poe's arm, it doesn't take long for Finn to repeat my actions.
"Are you Okay?"
We hear footsteps and from one moment to the next, we are surrounded.
“Nope."
"Drope your weapons, now!”
——————————————————————
"Move,” They order us.
We are all handcuffed and being dragged by the soldiers to reach certain people who, unfortunately, seem familiar to me.
"Allegiant General, the scavenger is not with them, but we have the other girl,” says one of them.
“Take them away. Finish them.”
"But sir, the girl. The supreme leader gave orders to–”
"I am not interested, now I have given another order," he finishes, and then he leaves, leaving us with a rather irritating redhead.
Soldiers turn our backs and start their weapons.
“Come on, boys, we were friends. If Kylo finds out about this, I don't think He'll give you a raise,” I say, still with my back to them.
"Actually, she's right," starts the redhead. Uh-oh. "I'd like to do this myself.”
"Oops."
"At least you tried," says Poe next to me, and then I see Finn. "What were you gonna tell Rey before?" I roll my eyes.
"You still on that?" Finn answers.
"Come on guys,” I say.
"Oh, I'm sorry, is this a bad time?"
“Yeah, sort of is a bad time, Poe. You wanted to say something to Kiara too, is this the time to be honest?”
Oh, I didn't remember that.
"You're right, what was it, Poe?" I ask.
"Yeah... well, I asked first," He says nervously. "Cause later doesn't really look like an option. If you're gonna let something off your chest "
I leave the couple to continue arguing and listen to Hux's weapon start. Damn, that's why you must be friends with redheads. I close my eyes as soon as I hear the sound of the shot, but none of us is hurt. We turn and meet the lifeless soldiers.
"I’m the spy," says Hux.
"What?"
"You?"
“That’s why you always befriend the redhead,” I add, totally confused.
"We don't have much time.”
"Well, look at you, Huxie,” he rolls his eyes at the nickname.
"I knew it,” says Poe pointing at him.
"No, you did not.”
Another opportunity to flee that we do not miss.
"Who would say that all that psychological abuse was a mask. I thought you were just an idiot,” I say without stopping.
"Kiara, I think this is not the time–”
"Oh, it's always a good time to tease, Finn."
Hux guides us between the ship until we see C3PO, BB8 and the D-0 droid approaching.
"BB-8, come on!" shouts Poe.
Hux stops in front of a door and opens it for us.
"I'll shut down the impeders. You’ve got a few seconds.”
"There she is. She’s a survivor,” says Poe leaning out of a window, showing the Millenium Falcon.
"Finally," I whisper and we continue.
“Wait. Wait–” Hux tells us, “Blast me in the arm. Quick.”
"What?" Finn asks.
"They’ll know.”
“Oh! I’ll do it,” I say, raising my hand, but Finn shoots him in the leg, bringing him to the ground, complaining. "That's cheating," I say with a pout.
"Why are you helping us?" Finn asks him.
"I don't care if you win,” The man grunts, "I need Kylo Ren to lose.”
“Oh, boy.”
——————————————————————————
After helping Rey, we are all at the Millenium Falcon. Finn and Rey are in charge of fixing some things on the ship, while I am close to them. They both talk about Exegol and how to win this, but from one moment to the next, I feel something different, something I felt many years ago... with Ben, but now he is part of Rey.
When Ben was telling me about the voices on the dark side, and how his mood changed for no reason.
“He killed my mother, and my father. I'm going to find Palpatine and destroy him,” Rey says with a blank look.
That is not a good thing.
“Rey," starts Finn, "that doesn't sound like you. Rey, I know you.”
"People keep telling me they know me. I'm afraid no one does,” This has happened before.
Rey walks away and I follow her. I take her arm and lead her to where was once my room.
"I can't stand another speech," she complains.
"No, you must finish what you are starting, Rey,” She stays still. "This is the same as Ben when we were in the Jedi temple, this is how Kylo Ren started."
"You don’t understand it.”
"Maybe not, but there is something in which I do have an advantage,” I say approaching. "All that anger and anger, the thirst for revenge does not end well. You have to see beyond that, Rey. No one can forget what we’ve lost, but you should not remain stuck wanting to avenge your parents.”
“It's not that simple," she answers.
"No one said it was" I stir in my place. "You must see everything Kylo has done and know that all that control is useless and will only harm the people you love the most."
"You know who I am, who Palpatine is to me. My Powers…”
"That does not define you, Palpatine’s a very good puppeteer, he did it with Anakin Skywalker and also with Ben, do not let it consume you,” My voice break slightly. "I don’t plan to lose someone else because of him, Rey.”
She shakes her head and I know she’s holding back tears as well, but she says nothing and just leaves my room.
———————————————————
In our quest to find the wayfinder, we walked up a hill to observe Darth Vader's great work destroyed, surrounded by the wild surf of the planet.
"The death star. A bad place from an old war.”
"It's gonna take us years to find what we're looking for,” adds Poe.
Thanks to the dagger Rey recovered, we decipher the exact location of the Wayfinder, but a group of people interrupt us.
Babu Frik sent a signal announcing our arrival so that this group did not harm us. They are all part of the resistance. The leader of the group offers us help, but the surf is very dangerous, we can only go tomorrow, Rey is impatient.
"Any ideas to help Rey?" Finn asks me on the way back to the Falcon to fix the bulky landing. I sigh.
“It’s difficult to understand and even more to fix. I know how you feel, but at this point,” I see my friend, “I have no idea what you can do.”
Repair is difficult, but Jannah, the leader, who turned out to be an ex-stormtrooper is very helpful.
Everyone has a job, and when I feel a tickle, I know it's my turn now, and it will be the hardest.
"Where do you think you are going?" I say while still walking behind Rey.
"She said we should wait, but I can't do it."
"Oh, and what's the plan, miss, will I fix it all?"
"You don't have to come and take care of me.”
"Of course I do, apparently it’s my duty to take care of idiots who want to go to the dark side."
"No!" Rey yells at me, stops and confronts me. "No one asked you for help at any time, it’s not my fault that you have that need to protect us, I can do this by myself-”
"If you want to die, of course you can do it alone, Rey.”
"Enough! Stop being sarcastic,” She turns and continues walking until she reaches the ships of the group that is helping us.
"That's what Ben would say," I reply with a grimace.
"You don't understand, is everything just a game for you?"
"Only if it amuses me.”
“Kiara…" She says through gritted teeth.
"I cannot leave you alone and no matter what you say, I will be here,” Once I walked away and everything was destroyed. It won't happen again. "So... do we use a Skimmer?”
————————————————————
Rey and Kiara, experts in bad decisions face the giant waves of an unknown place. All because Rey wants to play tag you’re it, and I can't leave her alone. The damn Skimer is very difficult to control with so much movement.
"Rey!" I yell.
"What!?"
"If we get out of this, remind me to kill you later!"
By pure miracle, we’re able to enter the death star. A totally abandoned and destroyed place. For my bad luck, we have to climb the ruins. Rey knows where the wayfinder is exactly, so I follow her.
"Not because I have a metal hand, it means that my whole body is resilient,” I complain.
“We're almost there.”
Between the corridors there are stormtrooper uniforms, and one or another corpse, but that doesn't matter, it was a long time ago… I think.
After what seemed like years, we stop in front of what was once a round window or maybe it’s a capsule, I have no idea, but at least we stopped climbing. At that a door to our left opens, we both light the sabers and enter slowly. Darkness floods the place, but a small light captures our attention: a small pyramid, The Wayfinder.
"Finally," whispers Rey, but then another pair of red sabers lights up behind us and two hooded figures start the fight.
Each one fights against an enemy, but everything becomes increasingly rare when the light of my saber illuminates the face of my opponent.
“Shit," The Jedi tricks again. I feel a chill when the other person smirks. It's me, but without energy, without hope.
The fight continues, and I see the other version of Rey attacking my friend. This is very confusing. At my distraction, She stumbles out of the dark place, hitting me on the back with the wreckage of the ship. It doesn't take long for Rey to stumble by my side as well, letting go of the pyramid, which rolls out of our reach, but another hand stops it.
"Oh great," I say sarcastic.
We both get up and prepare for Kylo Ren's attack. Rey lights her saber again, but I get in front of her, trying to calm the situation.
"Look at yourself,” Kylo starts and Rey forces me to get a little closer, but I stop her again. “You wanted to prove to my mother that you were a Jedi, but you’ve proven something else.”
"Kylo, stop.”
"You can't go back to her now," he continues to ignore me. "Like I can’t.”
"Stop. Both of you must stop all this circus –”
"The dark side is in our nature.”
Bullshit.
"Surrender to it…”
"Should I use this invisibility power for good, or evil?"
"Kiara, you better get away," says Rey. "Give it to me," She says to Kylo.
"The only way you’re getting to Exegol is with me,” He answers raising the Wayfinder and destroying it with just one hand.
"No!" She screams and using force, she pushes me away from her battle.
What she did not think well is where I could fall. I feel a new blow on my back and my body weakens. I hear her groans the clash of sabers, in the distance.
Kiara.

Writing 7 Prompts For 15 Minutes
I thought of publishing these here for my writing class.
We were given 10 prompts to write to for 15 minutes everyday, here’s what I wrote for that week.
Something I’ll remember when this quarantine is over
The nights I spend time with my friends and family, talking about literally anything on our minds and just going off.
I was never good at communicating and making sure to talk to people, especially through text message, and I definitely still need to get better with texting and checking in with my older siblings who are away from me at this time.
But being stuck in this house with my little sister and parents is making me get closer to my younger sister, both of us having to be there for each other as she deals with school and missing school, and helping my mom around the house as she still goes out there and help other families take care of their children.
I’ll remember the nights I was curled up in my chair, a Christmas blanket I got on Christmas - green with snow and snowmen - wrapped around me to keep warm in my cold room. Lou, my little sister, sitting on my bed as she fills pages of paper to put paper hearts for her friend's birthday.
We were both watching Grey’s Anatomy, occasionally we would make comments and jokes on the ridiculously things that’ll happen or they’ll say, but sitting quietly until 1 in the morning. Lou finally noticing the time, finishing up filling the jar she had been placing the hearts in, saying sorry for losing track of time and we both exchange our good nights before we both go to bed.
Even though I was exhausted the next morning from waking up so late, I still enjoyed that time of spending time with my little sister. We never spent much time before this quarantine just for the fact we are both in different stages in our lives, and we’re completely different people.
Lou needs to be around people all the time, go to events for her school, and be out of the house to explore the world and have fun creating memories.
While there’s me who enjoys spending time at home, writing my little projects or making art pieces, spending time on social media and talking with friends about fandom stuff, and enjoy cuddling with my dog.
I’ll remember the nights of talking with my friend Charna on PlayStation, watching her play some kind of game, be it “Dead By Daylight” or “The Last Of Us,” and just talking about literally anything. Sometimes we’ll just be talking on PlayStation and be playing separate games all together. Her playing “The Witcher” games while I played the Marvel Spider-Man game, occasionally making small talk or she’ll laugh at me being frustrated over Peter Parker getting stuck on walls or yelling “Fudge Cake!” As I make a mistake with a challenge. My way of cursing but not really.

What’s familiar to me about all of this
Is the many movies, shows, even books who touch on subjects like diseases, quarantine, and protest.
Except it feels like the author decided to take all these subjects and mash them together, take their readers for a whirlwind of emotions.
Looking back at subjects like quarantine and diseases is interesting, now knowing how people react when we’re under a type of threat we can’t see or even see coming. Usually people freak out and drive everywhere and hoard things that would make sense, like food and water, but now I always look at the toilet paper in those kinds of scenes and it seems they haven’t been touched that much makes it seem unrealistic. Seeing how today people went insane and hoarded it to the point of fighting old women for one even though their carts are already full, seeing the worst of humanity as they work their their anxieties that tell them how to survive.
The racism that comes out of it when a sickness is attached to a race (like the Spanish Flu).
I’ve been spending time in quarantine listening to audio books and I have been reading “The Diviner’s” series, the second book dealing with a disease and racism. “Lair of Dreams,” one of the characters - Ling - being Chinese and living down in Chinatown in New York, a sickness more popular down there called “The Sleeping Sickness” where you don’t wake up from your deep sleep until you die.
Quarantine was everywhere, burning bodies and giving out curfews, and how Ling was targeted with racism to the point of being beaten by a group of college boys until a friend of Ling’s came over and helped her.
It made me feel terrible for Asian people that these things still happen when a disease gets attached to a race, but also keep my attention on movies where their surviving some kind of things, see what they grab now that COVID-19 has happened and we’ve been in Quarantine these past 3 months and see how the world has reacted. Positively or negative.

I don’t like to think too much about
Anxiety, I try to ignore it as much as I can when it comes creeping up in the back of my mind, whispering worries and dark thoughts. Catching me at the worst of times, like doing the dishes or trying to take my dog out for a walk.
Am I washing this dish right? If I lose my grip will it break and scatter glass everywhere? Is that man staring at me, is he going to follow me? Are those people going to respect social distancing and leave me and my dog alone? Am I doing this right?
Trying to go through my day without anxiety whispering in my ear and slowly getting louder is hard nowadays, with everything feeling so much bigger now with the pandemic and the movements happening. The grief of what’s happening making anxieties voice louder in the back of my mind and anxiety is freaking out more about everything.
But I know ignoring anxiety makes it worse, making it come back bigger and harder to pass the next time it comes around again. But yet I find myself being lured by anxieties worries and believing their words, following them more in the dark and not able to stop myself until I catch myself being engulfed by their worries. Then I have to remind myself to breathe and try to talk anxiety down.
Sometimes anxiety is hard to calm down when I talk back, way too wind up in a knot it’s hard to unravel them enough that I can undo the knot and we can both go on our merry way. Instead we both just end up crying in the darkness by ourselves, letting each wail out and stressful tears roll down and join the others in a puddle on my sheets.
But sometimes on those days I have to remind myself, crying is as important as talking back. Cause maybe Anxiety needs somebody there just to let out all that stress so we can go back to reality and thrive another day. Let those wails out and tears be able to roll instead of holding them in and having to deal with another bigger one. Especially if we’re in public and not able to find a place so nobody can bother us.
Those nights where I’ll indulge anxiety when they creep up I try to be there for them, let us both hold each other tight before I’ll take the first controlled breath and mumble to them “We’re okay, we got this and can go through another day, together.”

I love thinking about
The dream I had a couple days ago.
I’m an artist and writer, I love doing both and learning on being an artist and growing those skills have really helped my writing grow, finding more words to describe something and being able to see my characters or scenes in my head, be able to really see them and write them in those details. Sometimes able to bring them to life on page through drawing by just my words.
Back in May it was my Dad’s birthday and I had made this popcorn holder where I painted various things on there, Darth Vader and Kermit the Frog singing “Rainbow Connection.” I was so proud how it came out and was really excited to show it to him and see his reaction.
The day I gave it to him, shaking with anxiety for his reaction, and he looked at it, turning it in his hands as he looked over it and then the words were told to me, piercing through me and felt like he was ripping apart my heart.
“I don’t know why you think you’re a writer.”
I just stood there completely bewildered, not knowing what to say or expecting that at all, just tears beginning to roll down before anger started to swirl inside me as he continued talking telling me how my pieces and name should be in a museum when I see mine in bookstores and libraries.
Since then I’ve been having a hard time writing and doing art, only able to hear his voice in my head on how I should be doing Art and ignore this whole side of who I am, to the point I’d just start crying and get frustrated, not able to finish what I was doing.
While this was going on I went to bed one night, feeling frustrated as my father’s words echoed in my head and not able to shut off, I eventually was able to get myself to some sleep and felt myself drift off to dream.
It started out with my dad sitting in that chair with me standing over him, yelling every word I wanted to at him for even thinking to utter those words to me on not being a writer. I took the popcorn holder for him and held it tightly in my grasp as I looked at him with fiery eyes and said the following with venom dripping in my voice. “This is mine, not yours. I can do what I want with it.”
Then I woke up.
The feeling of relief and a giant weight slipping off my chest was intense. I felt like I came to the surface and could breathe again, my Dad’s words not echoing in my head anymore, the anger I had been feeling the past couple weeks disappearing finally.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I couldn’t help but have the biggest smile on my face, the itch I felt to create a character or write a scene for my many projects returning.
-
This is the best time for me to work on my writing because
I finally have the time to sit down, write and develop my characters, finally get going with writing my first draft and create my stories. With Quarantine and staying inside I can give them my complete devoted attention.
Turn on that music to get myself in the mood for the scene, nice and indie pop for a nice fluffy scene or really intense hype up music if it’s a fight or intense scene I’ll need to write. Make myself some cozy to drink or eat and just make myself comfortable in my room as I just transfer myself to their world and move on with their story.
It sometimes feels like I’m Harold with his purple crayon, drawing various things as I go on my own little adventure, creating objects, little furry friends, or making little friends places to help with the adventure with such ease.
Sometimes I just stare at the dreaded white page as my mind feels like static, switching between topics. Sometimes it was about the project I was working on or it’ll be about a little dinosaur stuck in traffic as they tried to get home from a long day's work. Munching on whatever snack I had as I spiral.
Those days I will try to focus on filling the notebook I assigned to each of these stories with notes of various things, Characters facts, and develop more rules to magic systems or schools so they're somewhere for me to follow.
But those days I’m Harold with that purple crayon, feeling the itch to write them and just be drifted off in their story are days I love and they’ve been happening more since we’re in Quarantine I guess cause I feel like I can finally work on it while the world around me is paused in certain things. But those days I cherish and make sure to indulge myself in those days to fall in the story and just be wrapped in it as I let myself be swept away as I write.
-
The most comfortable thing for me right now is
Indulging in the things I used to love to do as I kid or would give me joy as we’re stuck in Quarantine, stuck in the house with my family after years of having it to myself, blast music and act like an idiot as I dance around while I do chores, try to teach my dog how to dance or snuggle him while we watch something.
But now stuck in the house with everyone I have to share everything and think of everyone, like if I’m bothering my Dad or if he’s on a phone call if I go downstairs since he uses the living room as his workplace right now, or my little sister if I’m making too much noise in my room since our walls are so thin and we can hear every little thing each of us say.
So one of the few joys I have is indulging in those things, especially with having Disney+ and Netflix returning “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and getting to binge that show while eating Oreo’s in my pajamas.
Sit in front of my mirror and explore ways I can do my makeup, adding a tiny star to my cheek or making the LGBTQ+ flags on them too.
Sometimes it’s hard to escape and ignore the world right now. Death, riots, and the choices this world makes that breaks my heart and makes me feel for people who are suffering. Trying to enjoy those things like a childhood show or watch gamers on YouTube be weird and play a game doesn’t work, I’ll find myself looking at Twitter or the news to see what is happening. Or try to figure out why Twitter is “Canceling” someone and seeing how much of a horrible person they were and how they hurt the people around them in some way.
Those days I try to turn off all electronics, plug my phone and set it across the room, as I curl up in my bed as I try to read the Percy Jackson series again or finish the Grisha series. Try not to tempt myself to watch or read anything on my phone that could cause me more pain and more in that dark place in my mind again.
Or if I can turn on YouTuber’s who just have fun with their friends while they play a game or do some weird thing, distract my mind and show how there are good people in this world. Watch video after video of their content and seeing how they make me laugh or bring light to a situation, even the good of a situation too sometimes.
I’ve been grateful for these comforts and being able to indulge myself in them at these times, show the goodness in this world and that feeling of nostalgia. Make me feel like a kid again.

When I think of Dream Kid, I think of
A small child, just a chaotic ball of energy, jumping off the walls and their diet consisting of all the candies they could eat.
Maybe it’s my younger self, when I had no filter or what was good storytelling or good art. Just wanting to know what kind of fun I could get from it or let their imagination run with the images of the story or what kind of story could be told with the art piece.
Dream Kid feels like the definition of ADHD/ADD, jumping from topic to topic with the snap of their fingers, whether that be a serious essay to one second wondering what kind of fluffy love story you could write involving two cactus. One second your writing peacefully, jamming out with some music or munching on some kind of snack, than one second you find yourself being transfixed with this rainbow contraption that switches shape before you realize it’s been 5 hours and you’ve stopped writing and lost your train of thought completely and forgot where the story was going completely. Same goes with writing with Dream Kid as you jump around and run around with them as you jot down the ideas, ignoring Logic as they scream at you how wrong this is with a sentence or you used “then” or “than” wrong and need to fix it immediately.
Compared to Logic who wants it perfect now, Dream Kid is the perfect person to tap into when you're just trying to have fun and get that idea now before it moves on into the void and you lose it forever. Until that idea returns at the worst of times, like late at night when you're trying to sleep, or stuck in traffic and not able to jot down the idea on time as the cars start to finally find a steady speed and move accordingly.
There’s a saying in the art community that makes me think of Dream Kid, the perfect little sentence that’ll explain Dream Kid exactly: “You must make it ugly first before you can make it beautiful.”
Dream Kid can help you put all those ideas now, making it as ugly as you can just so you know every point you need to make before they disappear into the void again, then bring in Logic to come fix all the ugly and make it beautiful so you and the reader can know what you're trying to say.

i have to admit im still a bit confused as how Vader still carry on the chosen one prophecy through out OT. i know georges said he still is and i trust the man's vision but imo killing out sidious for selfish reasons too (luke) doesnt counterbalance the fact the force was plunged in darkness by 3 decades of genocide. what do you think? (ps: thank you so much for all the wonderful metas)
Hey! Thanks :) The Chosen One prophecy is a bit complicated as is Anakin’s role in everything so I’ll break it all down in parts:
“You have got to remember that this is one movie, and it’s meant to be seen I through VI. So, I think when you watch the actual movie in order, the story will become very clear: that Anakin is the Chosen One. And even when Anakin turns into Darth Vader, he is still the Chosen One.” - George Lucas
The prophecy of the Chosen One
The Chosen One prophecy was made thousands of years before the events of the movies. by the time TPM starts, it’s considered a myth by most so they don’t know *exactly* what it means and how they supposed to deal with it. As we saw with Anakin’s visions, prophecies are tricky.
Because some Jedi have been able to use the Force to anticipate possible future events, it is not surprising that Jedi records relate various accounts of prophecies. The Great Holocron contains many references to the prophecy of the Chosen One: A Jedi will come To destroy the Sith And bring balance to the Force. Records are unclear about this prophecy’s exact origin, or whether the above words were the actual prophecy or a concise interpretation. Several accounts indicate that the prophecy was the subject of debate as far back as twelve hundred years ago, but it may in fact be much older. However, records do establish that approximately two hundred years before the Battle of Yavin, Jedi Masters became aware of an abrupt change in the shape of the Force, and many believed that a looming sense of dread pointed to the growing power of the dark side; some Jedi suggested that the Sith had returned, while others—maintaining that the Sith were extinct—dismissed this notion. But as time passed without any indication of Sith activity, the Jedi Master Yoda proposed that the gathering darkness was a sign of the coming fulfillment of the prophecy of the Chosen One. According to Master Yoda via the Great Holocron: Fully defeated by just anyone, the dark side cannot be, but only by the Chosen One. And who might be this Jedi? Know I do not, but not yet born is he or she. This much, sense I can. A vessel of pure Force the Chosen One will be, more powerful than any Jedi in history. [Ryder’s Windham’s Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force ]
Another man—even another Jedi—might have resented the rebuke, but Obi-Wan only sighed. “I suppose—he is the chosen one, after all. The prophecy says he was born to bring balance to the Force, but …” The words trailed off. He couldn’t remember what he’d been about to say. All he could remember was the look on Anakin’s face. “Yes. Always in motion, the future is.” Yoda lifted his head and his eyes narrowed to thoughtful slits. “And the prophecy, misread it could have been.” [Matthew Stover. Revenge of the Sith]
She blinked as though he’d slapped her. “Why—that seems … unlikely, doesn’t it? What about this prophecy the Jedi put so much faith in? Isn’t he the chosen one?” “Very probably. But I have scanned this prophecy; it says only that a chosen one will be born and bring balance to the Force; nowhere does it say he has to be a Jedi.” She blinked harder, fighting down a surge of desperate hope that left her breathless. “He doesn’t have to—?” “My Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, believed that it was the will of the Force that Anakin should be trained as a Jedi—and we all have a certain, oh, I suppose you could call it a Jedi-centric bias. It is a Jedi prophecy, after all.” [Matthew Stover. Revenge of the Sith]
They knew very little of the prophecy but they *assumed* the chosen one had to be a powerful Jedi and that his role was to defeat the Sith. They didn’t know fro sure what the prophecy said about what balance meant or that this chosen one had to be ONLY a Jedi. but, because they couldn’t fathom the possibility of someone who isn’t a Jedi defeating the Sith, the moment Anakin stopped being a Jedi they automatically dismissed him as the Chosen one in favor of Luke. of course, that doesn’t mean Anakin stopped being the actual Chosen One.
The Balance:
If good and evil are mixed things become blurred - there is nothing between good and evil, everything is grey. In each of us we have balanced these emotions, and in the Star Wars saga the most important point is balance, balance between everything. It is dangerous to lose this.” George Lucas
The one thing everyone seemed to agree on was that the Chosen One was to bring balance but what was balance? It wasn’t 2 Sith//2 Jedi. It wasn’t a world free of evil or conflict. It was a world where good and evil could coexist without one or the other trying to dominate the Force. It wasn’t political, it wasn’t about ending wars and religious/political groups. The balance was about the Force and in this case the Sith were the ones unbalancing the Force so the Chosen one’s job was to defeat the Sith.
We know the Force was ‘unbalance’ by Plagueis and Palpatine’s experiments but ALSO by the Jedi Order’s inability/unwillingness to prevent the ever growing corrupting in the Senate and all the problems it caused in the rest of the galaxy Surprise and disbelief mingled in Sidious’s blue eyes.
“The Force?” “Yes,” Plagueis said pensively. “But I failed to exercise due caution. As we attempt to wrest the powers of life and death from the Force, as we seek to tip the balance, the Force resists our efforts. Action and reaction, Sidious. Something akin to the laws of thermodynamics. I have been audacious, and the Force has tested me the way Tenebrous sought to. Midi-chlorians are not easily persuaded to execute the dictates of one newly initiated in the mysteries. The Force needs to be won over, especially in work that involves the dark side. It must be reassured that a Sith is capable of accepting authority. Otherwise it will thwart one’s intentions. It will engineer misfortune. It will strike back.” “The Maladians—” “Perhaps. But in any case this is why the Jedi Order has descended into decadence and is dragging the Republic down with it. Because the Jedi have lost the allegiance of the Force. Yes, their ability to draw energy from the Force continues, but their ability to use the Force has diminished. Each of their actions engenders an opposite, often unrecognized consequence that elevates those attuned to the dark side; that buoys the efforts of the Sith and increases our power. Yet our use of that power requires delicacy. We must be alert to moments when the light side falters and openings are created. Then, and only then—when all the conditions have been met—can we act without fear of meeting resistance or repercussion. “To say that the Force works in mysterious ways is to admit one’s ignorance, for any mystery can be solved through the application of knowledge and unrelenting effort. As we had our way with the Senate, and as we will soon have our way with the Republic and the Jedi, we will have our way with the Force.” [ James Luceno. Darth Plagueis]
Yoda’s reinforces this idea when he says their vision is clouded by the dark side. Everything is muddled so they can no longer see clearly.
“The first film starts with the last age of the Republic; which is it’s getting tired, old, it’s getting corrupt. There’s the rise of the Sith, who are now becoming a force, and in the backdrop of this you have Anakin Skywalker: a young boy who’s destined to be a very significant player in bringing balance back to the Force and the Republic. George Lucas - from the American ANH VHS tape in the making of Episode II in the 2000 release.
To bring balance is to ‘clear’ the Force. It’s not about eradicating Sith or saving Jedi. The Force is beyond of that. the Chosen One’s job is about cleaning the slate clean, regardless of political agenda. Of course, it doesn’t mean the Jedi *had* to way. Anakin could and should’ve chosen a different path. Nothing was set in stone. but the path he did choose doesn’t mean he stopped being the chosen. The fact he accomplished his mission by making the worst possible choices doesn’t mean he didn’t accomplish his mission as the Chosen One. In the end Anakin’s saved the Jedi, destroyed the Sith and help restore the Republic. And with that, he restored the balance. It’s not about erasing what happened before it’s about making things better from that point on.
Anakin Skywalker
“What the whole story is about” is a mishmash of tales as old as tale-telling: A young boy, plucked from obscurity by elite beings who believe he is somehow blessed, who grows up under their wise tutelage, becomes corrupted by power and evil, and then must finally face his own son – equally trained, equally tempted – in a battle to the death. – George Lucas
Anakin was the chosen but the world of around him didn’t protect him and that influenced his behavior. Anakin didn’t made bad choices because he was born a bad person, he made bad choices because of how he was raised and everything that happened to him. it has nothing to do with his chosen one status. Anakin was born because of the Force but it had no control over how people treated him and how he reacted to their treatment. Everyone had free will, everyone used it and things happened as they did. It’s as true for Anakin as it’s for every other kid in world. The fact a child shows promise doesn’t mean the child shouldn’t be protected and raised right. and if the kid does grow up to do bad things it doesn’t mean the kid never had any talent.
Also, the prophecy doesn’t say Chosen One had to do anything out of the goodness of his heart. He had to bring balance. How and why he’d accomplished that wasn’t set in stone. The fact Anakin sacrificed himself to save his son doesn’t mean Anakin didn’t save the galaxy. I’d even argue that Anakin’s sacrifice wasn’t selfish. The fact he was thinking about his son doesn’t mean he was only thinking about himself. Personal sacrifice, by definition, is not a selfish act. It doesn’t mean the person is wholly selfless but the act itself is not a selfish one.
TL;DR:
The force wasn’t out of balance because the Sith were evil, because the Jedi were killed or because innocents were dying. People have been killing each other for thousands of years before the Force was considered ‘out of balance’. What changed was the Sith experimenting with it and the Jedi’s withdrawal from the galaxy. To correct that the Force created a child that would eventually fixed that. the child was called Anakin Skywalker and he corrected the situation by destroying the Sith, ensuring the survival of a new and better kind of Jedi and by ending a war that would lead to a creation of new, less corrupt government safe from the influence of the dark side.
So, yeah, Anakin was always the chosen one even when he was Darth Vader and George’s claims are backed by the lore :)
