Sekhmet, Mistress of Flame, Eye of Ra ❤️‍🔥

She is the goddess of both healing and disease. Worship of Sekhmet was intended for protection against disease and appeasing her anger and destructive nature. She is depicted with the sun disk to reflect her beneficial qualities and the Uraeus to suggest the destructive proprieties of the cobra. The venom of the cobra brings death but if used correctly it can also be a medicine. Therefore, she is a symbol of transformative anger. She offers fierce compassion and encourages us to face fear with courage.

Each month i will work on an illustration for the current sign we're in. I was inspired to do a series like this after reading Alice Bailey's 'The Labours of Hercules' where each sign represents a step in a person's individuation process. I want to write a more detailed post about each sign but this will come later on.

Lyrics and featured are This God is Dead by Seven Spires, which I listened to on repeat for 3 hours while I drew this and really helped get the mood of this drawing just right (Strongly recommend this band and song)

This is also mildly a Good Omens fan art after just finishing season 2 and not being over it yet... OK it might not be mild in the slightest but I'm not even sorry and I took some artistic liberties here to put my own spin on it pls don't hate me 😅
