Breakfast V
Ellie Carpenter x Daniëlle van de Donk x Child!Reader
Summary: You get hurt
Tumblr media
Ellie didn't know what could constitute picking you up from Lindsey's in the middle of date night but all she knew was one minute she was going to the bathroom and the next Daan was running in saying that they had to leave.
You're in tears when she and Daan get there, sitting on Lindsey's sofa as you sob.
You've got one hell of a black eye. It was practically swelled shut and you were cradling your right wrist, keeping it close to your body as you cry.
"Mamma," You cry, reaching out your good hand for Daan," Het doet pijn (it hurts)."
Ellie has no idea what you're saying but she gets the general gist of it as Daan inspects you.
"What the hell happened?!" She demands.
"She slipped!" Lindsey replies, throwing her arms up as if to defend herself," Down the stairs! It was an accident!"
Ellie wants to scream at Lindsey for not watching you properly but settles on bringing the first aid kit over to Daan so she could wrap your wrist.
It doesn't look too bad, just a little sensitive but Ellie still knows you'll be going straight to the doctor tomorrow morning to get it checked out properly.
She knows you're okay (at least, she knows that it's not worth a hospital visit) but it doesn't stop Ellie from shoulder checking Lindsey on the way out.
Daan sits in the back with you on the way home and you curl into her so easily that Ellie imagines that's what you used to do when you were younger and still living in London.
You're exclusively speaking Dutch as well which is something Ellie barely has a grasp on besides the basics.
Frankly, this is all freaking her out. Not your injuries, Ellie can deal with that but just how distraught and emotional you are. She's never seen you like this before, curled up on Daan's lap like the little kid you actually are.
You wipe your nose on Daan's shirt and she doesn't even blink, gently stroking your back and whispering to you in equally soft Dutch.
"Mijn oog doet pijn en mijn pols (my eye hurts and my wrist)," You say as Daan inspects you again.
Your eye is looking better now that you've gotten home and kept an ice pack pressed against it. The swelling has mostly gone down so you can open and close it again but it's still turning a purplish colour.
Your wrist didn't seem sprained or broken either, just sensitive so hopefully sleeping in the bandage tonight will stave off the worst of it and the trip to the doctors will confirm that.
"Sorry dat ik date night onderbrak (sorry for interrupting date night)."
Mamma just shakes her head, pulling you even closer to her. "Nee, verontschuldig je niet. Het was een ongeluk. Je hoeft je nergens voor te verontschuldigen (no, don't apologise. It was an accident. You have nothing to apologise for)."
You don't quite believe her but Mamma doesn't lie to you so you have to take her word for it.
Her arms around you are warm and safe and you're tucked securely under her chin where nothing bad can happen to you.
"Mamma," You say," Ik denk niet dat ik morgen naar turnen kan gaan (I don't think I can go to gymnastics tomorrow)."
Whatever you say has a little bubble of laughter exit Daan's mouth and Ellie relaxes considerably. She's been completely lost for most of the conversation but Daan doesn't seem too worried with what you're saying so she relaxes.
She stays on the edges though, hovering. She isn't quite sure what she's meant to do.
Sure, she and Daan are getting married and, sure, she's got adoption papers that are being filed after the wedding but she's never been in a situation like this.
Ellie isn't sure if she's overstepping by coming into the little bubble of comfort that you've created with Daan. She's not exactly sure of the procedure for this kind of thing.
You seem to know though.
You catch Ellie standing there from the corner of your eyes and you put a hand over Daan's shoulder to reach for her.
"Mum," You whine," Mum."
Ellie's body moves on auto-pilot, her hand capturing your own as she sits next to Daan, squished up against you both as close as she can get. Her brain doesn't even realise what you've called her.
It all seems so natural, to you and to her.
There's no reason to make a big thing about it. It was always going to happen eventually.
You move from Daan to Ellie, wiggling in her lap for a moment before going almost completely limp, like you were sleeping but Ellie knew you weren't.
You curled into Ellie like how you curled into Daan, completely relaxed and boneless.
"Mag ik bij jou en Mum in bed slapen (can I sleep in bed with you and Mum)?" You ask Mamma.
"I think that can be arranged."

Magic Euros I
Leah Williamson x Wife!Reader
Magic Euros II
summary~ Leah Williamson, England Captain, your wife and the mother of your children managed to balance her private and work life. You thought you couldn’t be prouder but now she’d won the home Euros.
Tumblr media
Knowing Leah she, was going into the Euros with a winners mindset, one that no one could destroy. She worked hard to get where she is and she isn’t gonna let this chance slip through her fingers. This is Englands Euros. This Euros is the Lionesses’s.
When you and your wife got together she had just joined Englands senior team. She had always been a confident player but those first few months playing for England were rough. Her confidence was low, she didn’t get any minutes. The team was suffering and she didn’t get the chance to help out.
At Arsenal she was at her place. She played had in red for her whole senior career. Every time she got to wear that badge she wore it with pride. No one could stop her in the Arsenal colours. She loved her teammates, the club and everything around it. Arsenal was Leah’s whole heart, until you arrived. Leah was infatuated by you.
Leah and you had met at a party that her then dutch teammates held. Jill, Viv and Daan introduced the two of you to each other when they saw Leah staring at you from across the room. “Leah, this is y/n. Y/n this is Leah.” Daan had said.
You lived in England but knew the other girls from working in the football industry back in the Netherlands. When Viv moved to England and told you about the opportunities there and how the women’s game was growing you had to see it yourself.
Leah charmed her way into your life. She flirted with you throughout the whole night and eventually won your number. When everyone had gone home you stayed behind to help your friends clean up. “En wat vond je van Leah?” (And what did you think of Leah?) Jill asked curiously. “Ja, ze is wel leuk.” (Yeah, she’s nice) you answered blushing at the thought of the blonde. “Leah vind jou ook zeker wel ‘leuk’.” (Leah definitely thinks you’re ‘nice’ too) Daan laughed.
The girls invited you to the games they played and you turned up, every time. After a bit of teasing and convincing of her teammates Leah asked you out. And from one date came another and that’s how you eventually got into a relationship, moved in together and got married.
You and Leah had discussed the options of having children and started a family after a few years of dating. Both England and Arsenal were doing good and your wife was in her prime time.
When your baby boy was born her eyes were full of tears, she couldn’t believe the both of you had a little family now.
Your son, James, was a few months old and you were about four months pregnant when Leah had to go for England camp. She had been talking about the Euros for months now. When Sarina had told her she’d captain her country she couldn’t hold in her tears anymore. Playing for England was a dream, captaining England was.. marvellous.

Leah had found it hard leaving you behind, now even more so, pregnant and with a little baby to take care of. Leah had called her mom to help you out. She knew you would want to do everything alone and without help but you needed help and that was okay.
Leah texted you the moment she arrived and called you whenever she could. She got her own room, perks of being the captain, and got to face time you almost every evening.
“Hi baby, how are you and the kids?” she asked looking at you through her screen. “Hey Lee, they’re good, Jamie is asleep and your other baby is very active.” you laughed tiredly. Leah knew you had your hands full, that was why she asked her mom to look after you. Amanda tried to and she helped with James but the pregnancy was hard and more intense than when you were pregnant with James.
You asked Leah about the girls and how they were doing when her door swung open and a hyper active Georgia was jumping on Leah’s bed. “Ooooehh got your wifey on the phone. How’re you doing? How’s little Jamie?” Georgia asked excited while your wife rolled her eyes at her. You laughed at the both of them, “Hi Gee, Jamie’s sleeping and just misses his mommy and aunties.”.
You had brought James to England camp a couple of times. The girls adored him, especially G, Keira and Luce. When Leah had time off, the both of you and James had flew to Barcelona to see Kei and Lucy. It wasn’t long before Lucy had stolen your kid. James was amazed by Lucy, she was so good with kids.

The opening game of the Euros was held in the Old Trafford stadium, England against Austria. You knew Leah was nervous, she always was even though she would never admit that. But being a captain made it even more nervewrecking.
You sat in the family and friends section of the stadium, wearing one of Leah’s jerseys. She loved it when you wore those, the Williamson name on your back matching both her and your lastname. You even got James in a little England kit with mommy on the back of it.
When Leah walked out of the tunnel, leading the rest of the team with her rainbow captain armband on, you couldn’t be prouder.
The girls had won the game by one goal and got the next day off. Leah had gone home to spend some much needed time with you and your son.
Your own little family was laying on the couch when you felt a kick. Leah was resting her head on your chest, your son in her lap when she heard you gasp. “Babe, what’s wrong?” she asked slightly panicked. Taking her hand and putting it on your belly she felt it. “She’s gonna be a footballer, just like her mommy.” Leah whispered. You raised your eyebrow at her, “How do you know she’s a she hmm?”. Leah looked up and gave you a little smirk “I just know baby.”.
Your wife had to go back in the evening after laying your son in bed.
The weeks went by quickly, Leah got busier by the day but even then she made time for you. After every game she headed straight to you, she could celebrate after with her teammates.
Things got extremely stressful when England reached the Semi-Final against Sweden. But Leah had the right mindset and got the team to play their best. With four goals, Mead, Bronze, Russo and Kirby all scored, they were onto the big final. The final against Germany.
This time Leah had no time off but you got to visit her at camp. With James and a round belly you drove to St. George’s Park.
y/nwilliamson posted on their story
Tumblr media
When you walked through the big doors of St. George’s Park you were greeted by a bunch of the England girls. Georgia practically launched herself at you, well, at James. You handed the boy over to Georgia and saw Leah. “You’re here baby!” she walked over to you, holding her arms out. You hugged her and she gave you a kiss on your forehead. “I missed you so much Lee” you whispered into the crook of her neck. “I missed you too.” your wife told you.
Leah eventually got to hold her own son too after she told Georgia off. “I can have him too Gee, he’s my kid.” she scolded the midfielder. Georgia groaned and handed a giggling James over.
You got some time to catch up with a few of the other girls. Most of them told you about how Leah would show them all the pictures of you and James she had and how she’d talk about you nonstop. You talked with Jill and she said that she wanted to start a coffee shop after the Euros and that she probably wants to present football matches and stuff like that. It suited her, she was funny and made for it. You promised to ask around for her and to visit her in Manchester sometime.
The Final was the day you dreaded.
The stadium was absolutely packed with fans, their cheers echoing through the big Wembley stadium. This was the day Leah dreamed of. This was it, the Euros final at home. England against Germany.
Leah walked her team out, just like every other game. The pride armband around her bicep leading her team onto the pitch.
After the National Anthems Leah had a little talk with the team and everyone got ready. The whistle blew and the game began.
As the match progressed, the tension kept building. Germany had scored in the first fifteen minutes, England scored not long after. The score was one to one, with both teams fighting tooth and nail for every goal. The atmosphere was electric, you couldn't help but feel your heart racing with every pass.
When Alessia Russo scored the second goal for England in the 67th minutes the crowd went wild but there was still all to play for. A few minutes later, in the 73th minute Germany scored making it equal again.
Then, in the final moments of the game, when it seemed like a draw was inevitable, something truly unbelievable happened. Leah Williamson, the fearless captain and your wife made a clean tackle that changed the whole game. She got up, dribbled with the ball and with her precise vision and skill, Leah delivered a jaw-dropping assist.
The ball sailed through the air, finding one of her bestfriends. You held your breath as you watched the ball hit the back of the net. This was it, England had won the Euros.
You looked down at your son and realised that they had defeated Germany, in front of their home crowd. This was something magical, it was pure ecstasy.
Your wife sunk to her knees. She had done it. Wiping the tears from her eyes she walked towards her teammates.
She couldn’t celebrate long before she was pulled into an interview. “Leah Williamson, England Captain and European Champion, how do you feel?” the interviewer asked her. She took the microphone and responded, “This is the proudest day of my life, after the birth of my children i suppose.” she beamed. “Excuse me but i have to get to my wife and baby.” Leah excused herself, searching for you.
When she found you waiting in the stand she stood up on her toes and kissed you and James. “You did it baby, you brought it home.” you whisper yelled.
After celebrating the big win you went on a vacation with Georgia, Lucy and Keira. They offered to babysit Jamie whenever the two of you wanted to go out.

When the whole Euros thing had settled in you were almost nine months pregnant and James was almost one year old. Leah had already gone back to Club football where they played amazing too.
It got harder and harder to do things on your own so it was very helpful that the Arsenal girls helped you out whenever they could. Katie, Viv and Beth loved to babysit which really helped you a lot.
When Katie came over to pick the boy up because you and Leah wanted to have one last date night before the other kid arrived, your water broke. I guess this was it, you wouldn’t get another date night until she was atleast a few months old. A stubborn child, just like her mommy. Leah took you to the hospital while Katie took care of little Jamie.
Your baby girl, just like Leah had told you, was very determined and arrived almost immediately in the hospital. “Told you she was a girl.” Leah smirked while holding her. You rolled your eyes and the door opened, revealing two Arsenal strikers. Viv drove the two of them to the hospital as soon as she heard.
“Is she born already?” Beth asked curiously. Leah told her no, “Ha ha, very funny.” Beth said sarcastically while Viv grinned at Leah’s joke. Leah handed the little girl over to Viv who smiled at her. “Her name’s Alice.” you told them.
Alice was just like her big brother, a hand full. They caused trouble on and off the field. Alice tried to kick balls before she could even walk and James ran around the field chasing your wife’s teammates. Katie loved Alice just like she loved James, you were sure she was the one making them act naughty.
When the team travelled to Germany you got to go with them. Katie and Victoria even offered to babysit them so Leah and you had a little alone time away from the kids and the team.
Katie and Vic got Jamie to put his middle finger up and he thought it was funny since they laughed at it. And since his little sister wanted to be just like him she mimicked the action. Vic called Kyra over who was laughing hysterically at the two naughty kids that got told off by Viv. “You shouldn’t do that, that’s very bad!” Viv tried to scold them but failed to hold her laugh in.
But that wasn’t the end of their bad influence. Katie got Alice to pull some pranks on the other girls. They would blame Katie but they won’t blame a sweet kid like Alice right.
The Irish woman sent Alice on a mission to bring all the football boots she could find to her. Katie tied them all together and they hid them together.
It wasn’t long before the next training session was and the angry teammates came after Katie. “It was Alice! I didn’t do anything!” she defended herself. Kim looked at Alice who acted like she knew of nothing. “Did you tie all the shoes together Al?” she asked the girl. Alice shook her head and pointed to Katie who had already started to run away.

When the awards came around, Leah was invited to almost every one of the events and even won a few. Sometimes she got to bring your kids with. It was hard to keep them quiet and keep them from running around but the England girls helped you out.
When Leah won SPOTY both James and Alice escaped out of your and Viv’s grasp and ran over to their mom. You walked over to your wife, apologised to the laughing room and took both of them off the stage with a red face.

Lucy and Keira came to visit you in London when they had a weekend off. They told you they wanted to see you again but you all knew they’d probably end up giving all their attention to your kids anyway. And just like you expected, Lucy was passed out with James on the couch and Keira was playing football with Alice in your backyard.
The day after they took the kids to the park and to a little farm not far away. Both the kids and the Barcelona players were tired and almost immediately fell asleep after their intense day away.

DVD x Reader
Summary: Daan sort of terrifies you, eventually you learn you had no reason to be scared.
Warnings: Swearing, gay panic, minor crisis No hate to Ellie and Daan’s current relationship or either of them I adore them!!!, overthinking (sort of?), reader and Daan being oblivious, use of Y/N.
********
You and Danielle had been teammates for the past 3 months. You however wouldn't consider yourselves friends.
You don't know why, you don't know when, but you just automatically assumed Danielle hated you. Maybe it was the way she'd have an unreadable expression on her face when you'd speak French to your other teammates. Or the way she'd absolutely show no mercy during matches or training.
The amount of times you had been on the receiving end of an angry Danielle Van De Donk in training, well... you had lost count, you just knew they hurt.
Today was a team bonding day at Ada's house, nothing too serious, just you and all the girls from Lyon sat around playing fifa and being competitive little shits.
However, it was just your luck you arrived late. And that the only available seat was the one next to the woman you swore hated you.
But you took it, despite being shit scared of her.
Everything was going well, you didn't necessarily speak to each other that much, only exchanging one word at a time. The dutch woman clearly not up for conversation, with you at least. But she was certainly up for it with the blonde on the other side of her, Ellie Carpenter.
You don't know why on Earth it bothered you so much. The way Ellie looked at Danielle with a lovesick expression, the way she'd laugh a tad too hard at her jokes, the way she'd hang off her every word. It annoyed you to no end, and you didn't know why. Which only made you more annoyed.
Which then led to you heading into Ada's kitchen, trying to not throw the glass you were pouring wine into at the wall out of frustration.
Why the hell was this bothering you so much? You were terrified of the woman! You had seen the way she tore her opposition apart on the pitch. You had seen the way she tackled so fiercely. You had seen the way her muscular arms flexed as she was in the gym, the way she panted after a heavy training session.
Holy shit. You were scared of her. But it was maybe possible that you like liked her too? You weren't sure, and that was a whole can of worms you had no intention of opening in the middle of Ada's fucking kitchen.
You're snapped out of your thoughts by none other than the brunette herself, looking down at you with wide, concerned eyes.
"You okay?" She asks, she was actually speaking to you.
"Yeah, just reconsidering life choices and pretending not to hate myself and the feelings I have." You chuckled awkwardly, hoping it would come off as a joke rather than you over sharing. You gulped nervously as the joke fell flat, only getting a concerned slightly judgemental look from Danielle, downing the remainder of your wine.
"Okay, Y/N, maybe you should slow down with the alcohol." She chuckled, although there was an underlying concern to her tone as she removed the wine glass from your hand gently. She offered you a bashful smile, which you returned; hoping it didn't come off as a grimace.
You stand there in not-quite-awkward but not-quite-comfortable silence for a moment, rocking back and forth on the balls of your feet.
She sniffs and wipes her nose, smiling at you awkwardly.
"So.." You say, dragging out the 'o' sound.
"So." She replies, much less dragged out than you did.
"I think I'm gonna go home." You smile awkwardly, moving to grab your bag.
She grabs your arm, turning your back around to look at her.
"I could come with you? Get a cup of coffee?" She offers, before adding to it in a nervous ramble, "If you want to that is! If not it's totally fine!" she stammers before shutting up at the sound of your laugh.
"Sure, Danielle." You replied.
“Please. Call me Daan, Y/N/N.” She smirks.
"You know," you say after a beat of silence that followed the dying down laughter, "when I first met you, I thought you were mean." You laugh, shaking your head.
Danielle looks slightly shocked, her brows furrowing before she grinned, "Well, I hope I've proved you wrong."
You laugh, nodding. "You have."
She smiles triumphantly and you go back to eating your pastries in comfortable silence.
"So, what about me made you think I was mean?" She bemusedly asked, raising an eyebrow.
You thought for a moment, before your face softened and you shrugged, "I don't actually know. I mean, your confidence and your work ethic alongside how you play on the pitch? Jesus that's fucking terrifying. But I don't know why I was scared of you off the pitch, or why I thought you were mean."
You both laugh, "Alright, anything else?" She snickers before taking a sip of coffee.
"Ah! There's also that face you make when I speak French with the others, it's like you're judging me." You laugh, you swear your abs are getting more defined with how hard you've laughed in the past 30 minutes.
"What! No! I wasn't judging you! I was jealous of you!" She laughs loudly, before your fits of giggles came to an end, "And it's incredibly attractive." She murmurs quietly, quiet enough you don't hear her.
"What?" You hum.
She sighs, "And you're so attractive when you speak French." she mutters, cursing slightly as heat rises to her cheeks.
"You... You think I'm attractive?" You grin as she nods, using your index and thumb to pull her head up, making her look at you. "If it helps I think you're pretty fit too." You laugh softly as her eyes light up.
"Y/N?" She asks quietly.
"Yeah, Daan?" You ask, your breath hitching as she leaned in.
"I like you." She admits.
"I like you too."
Silence, but only for a moment.
She leans in, her lips moving against yours, almost as if they were a perfect fit against your own. Well, at least she didn't hate you.

The Choice (Alessia Russo x Lia Wälti x Arnold!Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 3 of Falling Down Under
There will be no alternative endings or a next part.
Feel free to disown reader in the comments 🥰
“No” you put your arm out and used your hand to push her back gently, to keep her at an arms length away. “We can’t” you shook your head and looked at the ground.
The next sound you heard was the door closing and Alessia’s car roaring off, just like it did the night you had kissed. There was just no Kirsty here this time.
You shuffled back towards the couch, trying to pretend that the last few minutes never happened.
Lia was due home tomorrow, and she was your priority. You’d promised her you wouldn’t even speak to Alessia until you had both spoken.
Before Lia, you had gotten around.
You’d broken so many hearts in the under 21s international team, that some of them ended up quitting football to never have to see you again.
Sure Australia had lost some bright young stars thanks to you and your commitment issues, but you were committed to football, so that was good enough to you.
You’re not sure what Lia done to you, but after you’d taken her home, well back to Mackenzies, on your trip back to London, you went back to Australia a different person.
You were more open to settling down with someone, despite not actually doing it. But you were also working harder in training and that’s what landed you your Arsenal contract.
The minute your contract came through, you don’t know why, but you messaged Lia. You’d not spoken to her properly in about 9 months, you had no idea if she was with someone even. But that’s just how much she’d played on your mind, and how egotistical you were that you’d thought she’d be sat in London waiting for you to magically appear again.
Luckily, she’d just gotten out of a situationship when you’d messaged her, and she fell straight back into one with you, before it blossomed into the relationship you had now.
You’d fallen asleep on the couch, alarm blaring at 7am to get you up to go to the airport and collect Lia who was finally returning back from national team duties.
You made yourself a quick coffee, pouring it into a travel mug and hopped into the car. You were barely awake, driving towards the airport but you made it safely to the car park.
You walked into the arrivals gate where she was due in next 20 minutes. You peered up to the arrivals board to find her flight was delayed by 3 hours.
You groaned loudly at the sight before slumping into a seat and pulling out your phone which began to buzz.
“Hey” you sighed tiredly.
“All alright mate?” Leah asked.
“Yeah, just at the fucking airport to collect Lia and her flight is delayed for 3 hours” you groaned.
“Which airport?” Leah squeaked.
“Stansted” you replied.
“Okay, give me like 20 minutes and I’ll come by” she smiled as she hung up. “She’s at Stansted” Leah said to your sister.
“Cheers mate” Mackenzie replied.
You hadn’t been in the mood for a lecture from Mackenzie when she got home, so you’d been ignoring her calls and texts.
She then decided the next best option was to just randomly show up at Leah’s house and demand her to call you, because she knew you would answer your best friend’s call.
It was exactly 20 minutes before Mackenzie walked through the airport doors, quickly finding you stuffed into a corner of the small café on your phone.
“G’day” she mumbled. Your head shot up at the sound of your sister’s voice.
“How did you know I was here?” You frowned before it clicked. “Leah” you groaned as your head flung back.
“Think we need a talk” she said sitting across from you. “Would you like to explain?” She asked.
“Look, it was a complete fuck up” you shrugged.
“You have also made it really awkward for Kirsty. Her and Alessia are really good friends” Mackenzie snapped.
“Well, I’m sorry your girlfriend’s friend kissed me even though she had a boyfriend and I’m with Lia” you scowled.
“Take some fucking ownership” she whisper shouted.
“I said already I know I fucked up” you properly shouted back at her, getting the attention of a few people around you.
“Do you like Alessia?” She asked as your head flung back.
“I’m sick of having this conversation” you shook your head. “I’m here to collect Lia, aren’t I?”
“Okay, so I’ll take that as a yes” Mackenzie smirked.
“I don’t know” you sighed. “I don’t know how I feel about her. But I know I’m in love with Lia” you nodded.
“So, have you spoken to either of them?” She asked.
“Things are okay with Lia” you tried to smile, until you remembered your interaction with Alessia last night.
“And what about Alessia?” She asked as your eyes dropped to the ground. She knew by the look on your face you’d done something. “Seriously? Again?”
“No, no” you said sternly. “She came over last night and she tried but I said no”
“She tried again?”
“Just leave it Macca” you pleaded.
“What are you going to do?” She asked
“I just want to collect my girlfriend and go home” you shrugged.
“You know if Caitlin finds out she is going to kill you” Mackenzie whispered.
“Well don’t let it be you that tells her” you warned.
Mackenzie eventually left after you talked a bit more, and before you knew it Lia’s flight eventually landed.
You felt a mixed sense of happiness and guilt when you saw her.
But you knew the second you saw her, that it was her. It was always her.
Alessia was an after thought, if even that, when it came to Lia.
“Hi baby” you smiled as you picked her up and kissed her softly.
“Please get me home” she groaned, before kissing you back. She was grumpy from the delayed flight as expected.
You got back and ordered some food to be delivered from her favourite place.
She went up to take a shower and came back down in your Australia jumper and shorts.
“I missed you” she admitted, sitting down on your lap.
“I’m so sorry Lia” you teared up straight away. “I was such an idiot. I’m so in love with you, it was a mistake” you reassured her.
“I know, it’s okay” she placed her hand on the side of your face, kissing your forehead.
“You deserve better” you mumbled.
“Maybe, but I’m stuck with you” she teased. “If you are telling me it was a mistake, and you want to make us work, I trust you” she nodded.
“I told you, you’re my everything” you kissed her cheek as the door knocked. Thankfully it was just the food this time, and not an unexpected visitor.
You and Lia were okay, thankfully.
You and Alessia on the other hand may as well have been strangers. You’d barely look at her at the training grounds or whenever she was close by.
You’d gotten back to training, and it was not the most comfortable of environments.
While nobody knew apart from the three of you what had happened, people did begin to realise you were not your usual self.
Lia also wasn’t speaking to Alessia, for obvious reasons. You were mostly sticking to yourselves. Pairing up for drills, eating at a separate table to everyone else, just coming to and from training.
Lia was being a bit more outgoing in fairness to her. She was still speaking to other people, and going out for bonding events.
You on the other hand just found it easier to stay out of it. It left your friends on the team wondering and wondering what had happened. They tried with you but they got absolutely nothing back, before Lia would swoop in and talk for both of you, until you’d eventually get up and leave.
You were miserable.
“Lia?” Leah asked on the walk to the canteen.
You’d opted to skip lunch today, attending a non mandatory physio appointment instead.
“Yeah?”
“Have I done something to piss y/n off or something?” Leah mumbled, looking at the ground.
“Why would you think that?” Lia frowned.
“She hasn’t spoken to me in weeks” Leah shrugged. “And I don’t know what I did”
“Things haven’t been great since you know” Lia whispered.
“Since what?” Leah looked at the Swiss girl funny.
“I thought she would have told you” Lia winced.
“Told me what?” Leah asked again.
You felt lost at training and with the team in general. It was awkward.
You didn’t talk to anybody anymore. You were picking up silly injuries from lack of sleep, not eating correctly and overworking your body.
While everyone was at lunch, you’d be in the gym. When everyone was in the gym, you’d be at a physio appointment.
You just wanted something to change.
Alessia had just joined the team and Lia was happy here, so the only one that could act was you.
So, in mid December you took action into your own hands. Well, your agent did.
“Hey baby?” You called.
“Hi my love” she shouted back from the living room and met you with a smile when you came through the door.
Her smile was the only thing making you happy lately.
“Can I run something by you?” You asked as she paused the tv and nodded. “I’ve been talking to my agent and I think I’d really like to move in January” you practically whispered the sentence.
“You want to leave Arsenal?” She frowned.
“Yeah” you nodded. “My plan would be to stay in London, to be here with you” you grabbed her hand. “But I’ve just been really unhappy” she nodded in understanding. The last few weeks had not been easy, but she’d been doing better than you.
She had to practically drag you to training everyday and it was killing her. You weren’t yourself, you’d gone quiet, not speaking to your friends or family.
Macca had came by a few times to see you and would barely get a word out if you every time.
“I think a move would be really good for you” she smiled, stroking your face gently. “If you want to move out of London, I would go with you” she said.
“I don’t want to take you from Arsenal. I know you are happy” you nodded in thanks for her offer.
“Do you have offers?” She asked and you nodded again. “From?”
“In the league? Chelsea and City” you said. “Outside the league, Bayern, Lyon and Barca”
“So to stay with me here, you’d need to play for Chelsea?” She asked.
“Yeah” you sighed.
“Lyon and Barca are such great opportunities, baby” she smiled.
“I don’t want to be that far from you” you shook your head.
“A lot of couples make it work. I think a move out of London could be really good for you” she smiled. “You’d have Ellie at Lyon” she reassured you.
“You’d be okay if I went?” You asked.
“It’s not forever, right? And it’s better than signing for Chelsea” she laughed.
“I love you” you leaned in to press a kiss to her lips.
“No, say it in French” she teased before kissing you back.
You’d sorted everything with your agent, before signing all the contracts.
Jonas’ had called a team meeting, and invited you up to speak.
A few eyebrows raised at the fact you were actually going to speak, as they’d not heard your voice in weeks.
“Uh, I just want to say the last 3 years have been” you began.
“Don’t you dare” Leah shouted as Lia grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly. Your head shot up from where you were looking at the ground and Lia gestured you to go on.
You’d practiced this over and over in the house.
“Sorry, yeah, uh, they’ve been great. I’d loved playing with you all and getting to know you all. But uh, yeah. I got a few different offers and I had to make the best decision for me, and for Lia” you nodded.
“Y/n, no” Steph pouted.
“So, I’m leaving in this window to join Lyon” you nodded.
“As in France? You’re moving to France?” Caitlin snapped.
“Ladies I know this comes as a shock but I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing y/n the best of luck in the next stage of her career” Jonas tried to ease the tension.
“France!” Leah shouted. “How could you just be moving to France?”
“I had to do what was best for” you tried to explain.
“You don’t just get to cheat on your girlfriend and act sad and fuck off to France” she snapped.
“Leah” Kim stepped in, trying to defuse the situation before it got completely out of hand. But it was too late now.
“You cheated on Lia?” Caitlin stood up now, anger taking over her face.
Steph stopped Caitlin from getting any closer to you, before Katie came to her senses and pulled Caitlin back to her seat.
The place was erupting with voices until Lia spoke.
“I’m going too” she announced as the room fell completely silent. All eyes, including yours was on her now.
“What?” You asked.
“I got an offer to Lyon and I accepted it” she smiled, putting her hand in yours.
Alessia didn’t even know where to look. She felt so uncomfortable in that room she wanted the ground to swallow her whole.
“You’re both leaving?” Steph asked and Lia nodded.
Leah had left the room, her two best friends were leaving the club and the country and she was so overwhelmed at the news.
Katie looked perplexed, but was trying to keep Caitlin calm and not allowing her to kill you.
“When?” Katie asked.
“Tomorrow” Lia replied.
The room eventually filtered out after hugs and handshakes, Alessia had just left the room without saying anything.
She walked into the changing room to find Leah sitting at her cubby, and it was evident she’d been crying.
“You okay?” Alessia asked.
“What do you think?” Leah snapped. “It’s your fault they’re leaving”
Alessia didn’t know Leah knew it was her, you didn’t even know Leah knew you’d cheated until 15 minutes ago when she’d announced it to the entire room.
“Why y/n? Why not just someone else?” Leah groaned.
“Because I’m in love with her” Alessia finally broke. “I told her I was in love with her and all she had to do was say no and I’d forget it” Alessia shouted. “You brought her that night, you saw her with me. You didn’t try stop her until you wanted to talk to her”
Leah looked confused until she remembered the night Alessia was talking about. It didn’t stand out much to her on the night, due to the amount of alcohol she had consumed, but it was now.
The lingering touches, the way you danced with her, the smirk on your face that you knew you could have her.
“I cheated on my boyfriend too” Alessia sighed, sliding into her cubby.
“I’m sorry Less, I was too harsh” Leah wiped her tears stained eyes. “They’re both my best friends and they’re both going and I don’t know how to cope with that” Leah shrugged.
“I’m sorry” Alessia sighed. “If you need someone to talk to, I’m here” she offered as Leah smiled weakly at her.
Lia came in just after Alessia had left, they’d both stopped and made awkward eye contact before continuing to walk without saying a word to each other.
“Lee” Lia sighed at the sight of Leah at the cubby in tears.
“I’m fine Wally, it’s fine” Leah waved her hands in the air to try and stop your girlfriend worrying.
“Talk to me” Lia grabbed her hand and sat down next to her.
“Are you sure you want to go?” Leah asked.
“Why would you say that?” Lia frowned.
“Are you sure you even want to be with y/n? Like, you’re sure you want to move to a different country with the person that cheated on you?” Leah was abrupt to get her point across.
“I’m sure” Lia nodded. There was no sign on her face that she was lying. “Y/n told me it was a mistake and I have to believe her Lee. She’s the love of my life”
“If it was a mistake, why can’t yous just stay here? You can be civil with Alessia” Leah shrugged.
“I know I can. I’m not doubting I could do that” Lia groaned. “It’s making her feel worthless every day and I can’t watch it go on”
“So she gets to cheat, keep you, and you are still willing to move to another country away from all your friends?” Leah grunted. “Have you accepted the offer?” Leah asked.
“I’ve accepted it, yes. I fly tomorrow to sign the paperwork” she added.
“Please don’t go” Leah begged.
“Do you understand what you’re asking me to do?” Lia sighed.
“She looked just as shocked as us when you said you were going too. So clearly you’d already had that conversation” Leah frowned.
“It would be difficult to be that far apart all the time Lee” she protested as Leah pleaded with her again.
It was later in the day when you got home with all of your stuff from over the years at the training ground.
All your suitcases were lined up at the door for your flight in the morning.
“Lia, do you need me to come get your bags?” You shouted from the bottom of the stairs. You didn’t get a response, so you threw your bags in the boot of the car and headed upstairs when you got back in.
You looked around the room to see she hadn’t even started packing yet. Her suitcases hadn’t even came out of the wardrobe.
She was just sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at a photo of the team she had in a frame.
“That was a good game, wasn’t it?” You asked as you sidled up against the door frame with your arms folded.
“The was the game I knew I was really in love with you” she admitted. “I knew I liked you and things were going well. But after that game I knew I was so far gone” she laughed, but you noticed it was the laugh she done when she was crying.
“Well, I knew way before that” you smiled, sitting beside her and also looking at the photo.
“You asked me to move in here right after this was taken” she pointed at the photo.
She was holding the league trophy, Leah was on your back and Katie, Caitlin, Jen, Steph, Beth and Viv were all smushed together in the photo.
“You were here all the time anyway” you laughed as she put her head on her shoulder.
“I still really love you now” she choked.
“It’s okay” you nodded, like you were accepting what was about to come out her mouth. “It’s okay if you want to stay”
“How does this work with you there and me here?” She asked as you wrapped your arm around her, placing a kiss on her forehead.
“I don’t know” you admitted. “I can come home on breaks, you could come visit when you have breaks” you suggested.
“It will be so difficult” Lia sighed.
“More difficult than leaving Arsenal?” You asked as she shrugged. “I know I’ve fucked this up between us” you began. “But I have to go and start somewhere else where that isn’t hanging over me all day every day” you breathed out.
“I know, I told you I think a move would be good for you. I just don’t know if it’s what I want” she said.
“So you’ll stay” you smiled weakly, with tears forming in your eyes.
“And you’ll go” she added, pulling you in for a hug and letting the tears fall from her eyes.
So you went.
And she stayed.
You settled in nicely at Lyon, moving immediately in with Ellie and Danielle until you found your feet.
You were missing Lia, but you were happy with your new life. It was a lot easier not having to look at the person you’d cheated on Lia with every day.
It was also nice to be away from everyone. You let Leah, Katie, Caitlin and co all drift away. Thinking of them now more as old team mates that you might see when you if you were in London.
Alessia had blocked you on all social media, which you were fine with. You didn’t need to talk to her.
You also liked being away from your sister. You liked being a different person here. Nobody here knew what a bad person you were, so you could be a good person.
“Jesus Christ girl come on, do not make me get your sister on the phone” Ellie groaned as you rushed through the apartment with your kit bag.
“Sorry, sorry” you shouted, knocking into who you thought was your Aussie team mate.
“Sorry” you mumbled again, now looking up to realise it was not in fact her.
“You know Jill right? From Man city?” Dan asked as she picked up her keys. You looked at the girl who was stood head to toe in Lyon gear.
“Hi” you smiled.
“Hi” she smirked.
“Jill will be staying here too seeming as we adopt Australian and Dutch children without homes now” Dan teased.
“Guess we’ll be sharing a room then” she raised her eyebrows at you before heading off out the door after Dan.
Ellie had returned from the kitchen and was physically pulling you out of the door from where you were rooted at the spot by the forwardness of the Dutch girl.
“Move your legs. One infront of the other please” Ellie pleaded as you eventually began to walk. “How’s things with Lia since the move?” She asked.
“Uh, yeah fine” you shrugged, looking forward at Jill.
Things had been hard with the distance and different schedules, but they were about to get a whole lot more complicated.
You know the expression.
Once a cheater, always a cheater.

Birthday surprise | Daniëlle van de Donk
Tumblr media
Pairing: Daniëlle van de Donk x Reader
Summary: You join your wife at training camp on her birthday with a life changing surprise gift.
A/n: Let's pretend Daan's birthday wasn't like a month ago, I just needed a good setting for this fic haha
Masterlist | Woso masterlist | words: 650
This year your wife's birthday fell during the Dutch National Team's trainingscamp. Usually partners and guests weren't supposed to join the camps, but they had made an exception for you to join them today. You watched their morning practice on a bench in the sun. Watching Daniëlle play soccer was one of your favorite things to do but watching the way her face lights up when she wins one of the drills might make watching her practice even more fun.
You had known the team for years, so when their training was done most of the girls greeted you with a hug before heading to the changing rooms. Daan loved seeing you at practice, you had always been so supportive of her career and were present at every game you were able to go to. You took the time the girls were in the changing rooms to get Andries Jonker alone, you had called ahead to share your plans with him. He's the reason you're able to be at the training camp today, you wanted to thank him again and hand him the surprise present that you brought. You had arranged that it would be handed to her along with the flowers that she would get from the team, thinking that would make the surprise even bigger not instantly knowing that the gift came from me.
The dining hall filled up with people for lunch time. You sat with your wife’s teammates as you sang happy birthday to her. She stood in front of her red velvet cake, it was her favorite and she was so happy that they were able to get it. She gets handed a bouquet of white roses and as they go to take a picture to document the occasion, she asks for you to join her. You take some pictures before Andries steps up, “We have one more small gift for you.” He says as he hands her a small bag and takes the flowers to put them in the vase on the table. You had planned it exactly like this but you were still nervous, this gift would be life changing. Daan reaches into the bag and pulls out a bundled up jersey, she’s confused why the team would give her a jersey, but she tries not to show her confusion as she hands you the bag so that she can unbundle it.
She unbundles the fabric, realizing it’s a very small jersey. She turns it around and sees her name on the back. She looks over at you with big eyes, “Does this mean what I think it means?” Your nerves make room for excitement and your smile grows, “It does.” Daniëlle goes right in for a hug with tears streaming down her face. You hold her tight as your own tears run down your cheeks. “This is like the best birthday present ever.” She says as she slowly lets go to peck your lips. The rest of the team who had been just as shocked as Daan, all held their applause for you to have your moment. But the second the embrace ends, they start clapping and cheering. One by one her teammates and the staff members come over to congratulate you. Once everyone had their turn, you asked for a couple more pictures as the both of you held the jersey up, showing the back with the last name showing.
Both of you were overjoyed with the news. You had been trying different ways to get pregnant for a while now, and finally getting a positive pregnancy test meant so much. After lunch the two of you excuse yourselves to go outside and let everything sink in. You sit down on a nearby bench and start talking about how excited you are for this new chapter of your lives. “Happy birthday, my love.” You say before heading back to the team.
💗 If you enjoyed this fic, please consider leaving a tip💗

Fuck you, stargirl
Victoria Pelova x Reader
summary~ You’ve played with Victoria for aslong as you remembered, she was always faster, more technical and had so much more talent. It was hard to love her but harder to hate her.
Tumblr media
Victoria was a different player, someone you couldn’t not notice on the field. Victoria Pelova was something different, outstanding. She amazes you, every time. She was kind, funny and an absolute baller. You’d hate to admit it but she was one of the greatest and that’s why she bothers you so much. She has everything and you’d never be like her. You’re not as funny or social as her, not as technical or fast either.
From the moment you met Vic, she has been nothing but kind to you. The two of you had gotten along at Concordia, your childhood club but then you into jong oranje. Playing at national level was something.. different. It was more competitive, everyone wanted that starting spot on the team.
After your first international break you and Victoria got back to the club, playing with the boys. The brunette had a starting spot for all four games, you only got subbed on in two games and around the 60th minute.
Vic was a good friend, someone you thought deserved everything she got. She got noticed and you loved that for her. It just stung a bit. The coach liked her more, the team liked her more and the fans liked her more.
When Victoria asked you to bike home with her after training you accepted. You’ve always biked home together and she’d tell you about her day but today she just couldn’t stop talking about National Camp and how it felt to score her first goal. Yeah, she scored her first goal on her debut.
“Het was geweldig, ik heb echt nog nooit zoiets gevoeld. Stel je voor hoe het zal voelen als we straks op een EK staan.” (It’s amazing, i have never felt something like it. Imagine how it will feel when we’re at the Euros.) she yelled enthusiastically. She was looking at the future like it was written in the stars, she was so sure of it all. “Vic over een paar jaar sta je zelf in het WK, het winnende doelpunt the scoren.” (Vic in a few years you’ll be at the World Cup, scoring the winning goal yourself.) I smiled at her. She frowned at what you said, ‘you’ll be at the World Cup’? “Wij gaan over een paar jaar naar het WK waar jij een tackle maakt die ons team zal redden.” (We are going to the World Cup in a few years where you’ll make a tackle that’ll save the team) Victoria grinned. You gave her a halfhearted smile and said your bye’s, disappearing behind the corner you turned left at.
When you got scouted by ADO Den Haag a few weeks later you were surprised to say the least. Their scout approached you after a game where you got a starting spot and played well. He told you about the procedures and what they would be asking of you. Later that week you had a talk with the coach and both of your parents. It was official, you were finally making moves into the professional football world.
When you biked home from training after a hard session, you finally told the brunette. You’ve been torturing your bottom lip for about an hour now, chewing on it like it was gum. How could you even tell her this, she should be the one making a move like this.
Vic was talking your ear off like always when you cut her off. “Vic, ik ben gescout door ADO. I kon geen nee zeggen, ik weet dat we samen zouden gaan maar ik moest. Het spijt me.” (Vic, i got scouted by ADO. I couldn’t say no, i know that we would go together but i had to. I’m sorry) you word vomited. The midfielder gave you a small smile after a little pause, “Ik weet dat je geen nee kon zeggen. Goed gedaan.” (I know you couldn’t say no. Good job.).
She understood it, it’d be okay. You thanked her for understanding and said your bye’s like always. Just this time without the ‘see you next week’.
To say you hated yourself for this decision was an understatement. You hated yourself for not staying and especially for ghosting Victoria. Why did you even ghost her.
Vic texted you, telling you how the team was on top of the league and that they missed you. You gave short and dry answers and eventually she stopped texting. She didn’t tell you about how many goals she scored or how the boys on the other team were so mad about losing to a girl, something that was your favourite thing to watch together.
You’ve been playing for ADO for about 7 months now and you still weren’t a regular player. You gave your everything but that wasn’t enough apparently.
AZERION VROUWEN EREDIVISIE !
Victoria Pelova, de Concordia youngster heeft getekend voor ADO vrouwen. Ze zal over een paar weken haar oude team genoot y/n y/l/n volgen naar de groen gele club.
Victoria Pelova, the Concordia youngster has signed for ADO women. She will follow her old teammate y/n y/l/n to the green yellow club in a few weeks.
You read it again and again but it didn’t change. She was going to be in the spotlights all over again and you’ll be the second choice. When the news had sank in you realised you’d actually have to see her again.
When you arrived at the ADO training ground you didn’t expect to be met with the sight of a brunette tying her shoelaces. It was still early, you always came in earlier, trying to train extra for that spot in the starting lineup. You already had your training gear on so swapping your boots next to the field would do. Unnoticed, or so you thought, you walked towards the freshly cut grass.
The trainings went like normal, nothing really changed. Except for the glances. And while you didn’t get a starting spot, Victoria did. Victoria Pelova was ADO’s new stargirl, their key player that would lead them to a league win.
You didn’t get any playtime anymore, you needed a change, a new club. And when you didn’t get a call up for the Under 23’s you knew you had to go elsewhere. Start fresh, create a new you, a better you. Bayern München contacted you and you had to say yes.
You did good, working on yourself like you’ve never done before. The girls, staff, fans and coaches liked you. You were a stargirl for once, Bayerns stargirl. That cdm position was yours and no one could take it away from you.
sydneylohmann posted on their story
Tumblr media
You got into the National team again but this time it was the seniors, the team you’ve always wanted to be a part of. You made your comeback, the new you. Victoria was still in the Under 23’s so you didn’t have to see her yet, you dreaded that moment.
Victoria moved to Ajax not much later after your move to Germany. She was doing good, not that you were watching her or anything. Ajax ended on top of their league and got into the Champions League. They did so good they ended going through to the groupstages and what a surprise, Bayern got grouped with them. Just what you needed.
The first game was away and Victoria absolutely destroyed you on their home field. It gave you throwbacks to when she’d effortlessly ran and turned around those boys. But that was when you played together, when her talent was on your side. The game ended in a draw and a POTM for Pelova.
You shook hands with the red and white girls. “Goed gespeeld” (Good game). There was only one girl left, she avoided you, saving you for last and you knew it. You walked away, not caring about a stupid handshake. “Wacht! Y/n wacht nou even!” (Wait! Y/n just wait!) your ex teammate yelled.
You stopped in your tracks, didn’t say anything and didn’t move. “Ik snap je niet, waarom doe je zo?” (I don’t get you, why are you acting like this?) Victoria asked you confused. How did she not know. Everywhere you went, she went and stole the fucking show. Now you’re finally doing good, on your own and she’s making a fool out of you again. “Niks, ik was je gewoon vergeten.” (Nothing, i had just forgotten you) you shrug.
That was a fucking low blow, even you knew it. You heard her walk away and sighed. The moment those words came out of your mouth you regretted it. You didn’t forget her, you couldn’t. How did you manage to make this situation even worse.
The second game against her team was even harder. The brunette girl was going in for hard tackles and was on you every moment. You couldn’t do anything about it and got subbed off in the 67th minute. Ajax scored a goal and you lost on home ground.
I wasn’t long after that you couldn’t avoid her anymore, she got selected for the World Cup roster and that meant you had to see her everyday for atleast two months. This was the absolute hell.
You dreaded the camp and when it finally came you had to drag yourself out of bed and into your car. Waiting for your arrival was the media intern photographing you. “Hi, goedemorgen” (Hi, goodmorning) you waved to the camera.
Walking into the big hall you spotted a few of the girls, hugging and greeting them. Daan came walking towards you, bringing you in for a big hug. “Hey kleine, hoe gaat het met je?” (Hey little one, how are you?) she asked. “Ik ben niet echt de kleine meer maar goed, denk ik.” (I’m not the little one anymore but good, i think) you trailed off seeing the brunette walking in. “Oh y/n, jullie waren beste vrienden. Je kunt haar niet altijd blijven ontwijken.” (Oh y/n, you were bestfriends. You can’t keep avoiding her forever) Daniëlle sighed. You shrugged and walked towards the others. You’re not in the mood to talk about it right now.
You roomed with Jill, like always. Over the past year and something you’d told her practically everything, including the Victoria things. About your friendship, how you destroyed it, the jealousy, the guilt and your big big crush on her. Well you didn’t exactly tell her that but she just knew.
After an afternoon of looking at Victoria from across the room like a creep you flopped on your bed and opened instagram. You went through your highlights, in search for that one story. The one with you and the talented midfielder, the one you swore you ‘hated so much’.
11 October 2017
Tumblr media
“Kijk je weer naar jullie foto’s samen?” (Are you looking at photos of the two of you together again?) Jill asked unimpressed. You groaned and sunk into your pillow. “Aaghh, ik heb het zo verpest!” (Aaghh, i messed up big time!) you screamed into your pillow.
Jill laughed at your misery, “Het is niet te laat, je bent gewoon een sukkel. Maak het goed, Vic zat de hele avond naar je te staren.” (It’s not too late, you’re just acting stupid. Make it right, Vic has been staring at you all evening) Jill said sitting down next to you. But honestly, could you make it right again?
You didn’t do much to make it up to her. You tried to act normal but your new normal was ignoring her. The hate you thought you had for her was so much more than that. It wasn’t really hate, it was so much more complicated. You hated that she was better but you also loved it. You hated that she was social, sweet, funny and silly but you loved it even more.
Both you and Victoria didn’t make any minutes at the tournament and you were gutted. It had been your dream, both of your dreams. And the loss to the USA was even harder. You were almost there, almost the World Champions.
Nothing really changed after the Euros, you still didn’t have any contact with the Ajax player. You were still playing for Bayern but it began to bore you. There wasn’t any change and the Bundesliga was too comfortable for you.
So you moved again, in January 2023 you signed for the Gunners. Your dreamclub, the club both you and Victoria had dreamed of playing at together. You made your dream transfer, and she did too.
ARSENAL NEWS !
After signing y/n y/l/n, Arsenal has now also signed the other Dutch woman, Victoria Pelova. The two play together for The Netherlands with our striker, Vivianne Miedema and used to play together at ADO. We’re delighted to Welcome Pelova into our squad.
You’d already met a few of the girls and Viv you knew already so when you walked onto the training ground you weren’t so nervous anymore. But it really bothered you that Vic had yet again taken a bigger part in your life. At this point you were almost living with eachother. Training went by rather quickly and you got home as soon as possible.
The team won every game the first month and you played in three of them. Victoria had already made her way into the hearts of the fans while you were.. overshadowed by her. But it was okay, she deserved it. You didn’t like the spotlights on your personal life anyway.
It was when you made a bad timed tackle in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and got send off with a second yellow that Vic decided to talk to you. You stormed off the field, not agreeing with the ref in the slightest, it wasn’t a good tackle but you didn’t really touch her, she wasn’t hurt.
You stomped into the tunnel. ‘Fuck fuck fuck is this gonna cost the team’ was the only thing on your mind. What if they didn’t make it through because of you. You’d never be seen the same again, you’ll lose your spot.
With your head in your hands you were overthinking every single aspect of your life. And then, someone opened the door. “Wat is je probleem y/n!” (What’s your problem y/n!) Victoria yelled. You sighed, refusing to look up at her. “Kijk naar me als ik tegen je praat! Jezus, wat is er!” (Look at me when i’m talking to you! Jesus, what is your problem!) she stood infront of you, expecting an answer.
“Niks, laat me met rust.” (Nothing, leave me alone) you said, just like the last time you really had a conversation. “Er is niet ‘niks’, waarom haat je me zo erg? Wat heb ik gedaan, ik dacht dat we dit samen wilden, samen in de Champions League finale voor Arsenal.” (There is not ‘nothing’, why do you hate me so much? What did i do, i thought that we wanted this together, the two of us in the Champions League final for Arsenal) Vic sighed defeated.
“Oh fuck you stargirl! Je doet alsof je niet weet waarom ik zo doe maar je weet hoe je altijd alles krijgt. Je bent beter in alles, ik kan niks voor mezelf hebben. Je bent overal, Arsenal, Nederland, mijn hoofd!” (Oh fuck you stargirl! You’re acting like you don’t know why i’m acting like this but you know that you always get everything. You’re better in everything, i can’t have anything for myself. You’re everywhere, Arsenal, The Netherlands, my head!) you said extremely frustrated. “Ik dacht eerst dat als ik je zou ghosten je weg zou gaan, uit mijn hoofd. Maar je gaat niet weg, het wordt alleen maar erger… Ik vind je heel erg leuk en dat maakt alles erger, ik heb je altijd leuk gevonden.” (At first i thought that if i ghosted you you’d go away, out of my head. But you won’t go away, it only got worse… i really like you and that makes everything worse, i have always liked you) the last few words left your mouth like a whisper, only meant for your own ears but hers heard them too.
“Oh” was the only word that left her mouth. You had prepared yourself for this moment for months, every scenario had played through your head. Except this one.
“Ja, ‘oh’. Vergeet maar dat ik dit ooit heb gezegd, het maakt niet uit.” (Yes, ‘oh’. Just forget that i ever said this, it doesn’t matter) you said standing up, ready to leave the stadium.
“Wacht! Wacht y/n!” (Wait! Wait y/n!) she called you back. She stopped you by taking your hand in hers. “Ik had het gewoon niet verwacht. Toen je niet meer reageerde op mijn appjes en daarna, die dingen zei-“ (I just didn’t expect it. When you didn’t respond to my texts and after, you said those things-) you winced at the thought of the words you had said to her the last time you spoke. “- toen dacht ik al helemaal niet meer dat je me mocht, laat staan dat je me leuk vond. Maar y/n je weet toch al dat ik jou de beste voetballer vind, dat ik overal kom voor jou en dat jij degene bent die ik leuk vind, al jaren.” (-i thought you didn’t like me at all, let alone that you liked me. But y/n you know that i think you’re the best footballer, that i go everywhere you go and that you’re the one that i like, for years now) your teammate whispered looking down at both of your dirty boots.
Smiling at her words you spoke again, “Hmm, zeg dat nog eens” (Hmm, say that again). Victoria laughed, looking you in your eyes. “We hebben het wel gedaan hè, nu alleen het WK nog.” (We really did it huh, only the World Championship now) you gave her a smile. She leaned in and placed a kiss on your lips. One that was just as sweet as Victoria herself.

Btw, this video is the longer version of the chant (but not the complete version). I rewatched the post match video, and I just realized I’ve missed, perhaps, the most important detail - why Ellie kept looking at the table:
