i saw the new spring daffodils on my way to work this morning and thought "yeah i think Daeris would like daffodils, they're like a small joy also purple+yellow+grey is a cute colour palette consideration!!"

well let me tell you I've made myself feel so many overwhelming feelings on my lunch break because i thought to look up the symbolic meaning of daffodils and of course they mean rebirth and new beginnings....

spoilers for dsmp wilm lore

tommy ends up creating a small hut on the land where wilbur left. he sits out by the sea waiting day after day for his brother. many people come by, gifting food and some stuff like yarn and books to keep him occupied for something else. 

most days he’s watching the sea, waiting for a chance to see wilbur again.

one night dream appears. but tommy doesnt know. becasue everyone on the server, or at least most people know that tommy has been through enough. and colectivly chase the man away. leaving tommy unaware and at peace for the night.

years pass. dream has gone, and not many people are the same. most have moved away and new people have arrived. people are told about a man who waits by the ocean. waiting for his brother.

those that go to the site are met with a tombstone. the name tommyinnit etched into the slab. daffofils, hycinths and alliums are planted around the area. 

a ghost wanders around. floating about as he asksthem where wilby is. no one has the heart to say hes left for good. A king comes by to visit. tells the ghost of stories that have passed. of people who have left the world. a baker, a hotel owner, a therapist, a demon and diamon. so many stories. but he never remembers.

but thats okay. he can repeat them as much as he needs to.

eventually, everythings overgrown.

the house, the hole, the castle... the desert is in ruin and the casino is crumbling.

A ghost sits patiently, waiting for his brother to return home. not knowing hes been waiting in a station for years for his younger brother...

this guy is pretty cool. i dig his sci-fi druid aesthetic and appreciate how the designers try to incorporate floral shapes throughout his suit. i just feel like again, this execution just didn't quite hit the mark.

i see this design and i see inspiration of the concepts of Black Mercy from before Overwatch was released, and maybe i just cling onto that concept design a little too hard and can't get over it. i thought that version of Mercy was INCREDIBLE. i could definitely have some bias there.

i also appreciate that overwatch is trying to include and incorporate more diversity of characters who are lgbtqia, but i'm still so hesitant when this comes from Blizzard, a company who has such a dumpster fire history to include a healthy diversity of characters in queerness, femininity, women, ethnicity, and culture. like it's true that they have gay characters, strong women characters, people of diverse ethnicity, and have been trying to include more cultures from around the world, but like, they do have a history of misogyny, homophobia, and racism. Lifeweaver is pansexual, which is awesome, and OVW2 will be having a pride event this year, which is also awesome. i'm just, again, hesitant and will have to see how this plays out.

this is also just more of a cosmetic idea i would have pushed if i had any say on the design team, but what if instead of a rose, he techno-conjured lavender? as a nod to lavender being a queer favor for both masculine and feminine people, claiming that "streak of lavender" aesthetic. and who knows, maybe he'll have different flowers throughout his skins. like including carnations and particularly wielding a green carnation, or having daffofils, or pansies.

not necessarily a queer flower but what if they come out with a skin where he has a rafflesia on his back :0

i'm looking forward to seeing Lifeweaver's lore on a proper wiki page and seeing what else we learn about them :)

Arcana Twilight taking care of plants:

Alpheratz: His room is very green. Every surface is covered with plants and vines. White walls are covered by vines. Only when you look closer, you realize that all the plants are fake. He never once had a real one. All fake but gorgeous.

Arcturus: As amazing as he is when it comes to gardening, instead of reading instructions on caring for new plants, he goes through a long and painful game of trial and error. But luckily he already has a vast knowledge and can tell you exactly how much water any flower needs. When it comes to vegetables, he can guess how big it will grow with a 94% accuracy.

Pollux: Do you really think he is able to care for a plant? He gives it everything he has. Love, breath, water and soil. And yet, he fails. He manages to mix up instructions a lot. He was gifted cacti and he overwatered them. Right now, he has a pot with succulents -gifted from Alpheratz- who somehow have been alive for the past months. Brags about them on occassion.

Sirius: Carnivorous plants have attracted his attention. Not because they eat insects, but because they smell really nice. He extracts the scent and uses it as perfume for himself. But for that reason, the humidity and temperature in his room are quite high. His dream is to get the rarest and most special plants to exist. His faszination for the strange can single handedly prevent those plants from extinction. (In the school garden, there is a tree. It is the most poisonous one he could get, he raised it like its his child. Even Arcturus avoids approaching it, but Sirius likes it).

Spica: He keeps small seasonal plants in the places he spends a lot of time. A dandelion on the window during spring, a daffofil on his desk. He likes keeping herbs the most though. His kitchen basically consists of a very small fridge and a lot of shelves for different herbs. If he cannot use them, he either shares it with other sorcererd who will use them, or he dries them. Nothing goes to waste (makes his own liquour if he cannot figure out what else to do). To him, true beauty is a mix of usefulness and need. And that reflects in those herbs.

Vega: If you thought his skin was pale, just wait until you see his plants. By his windows are pots with daisies. He owns a dried white rose as well, it is by his mirror as a reminder of times he hopes to always remember. White simply is his favorite color, and he does not want to be surrounded by anything that is only "decent". He learnt how to carve and sometimes carves flowers in different sizes. Do not ask him to carve anything like a pet though. Just do not.

He had met her, finally.

A sweetheart he didn’t have to share with any other future regenerations of himself with. And he was holding her hand, finally, only having had to wait for about 450 years. It was worth it though. Her softer, smaller, hand fitting quite perfectly against his larger and more calloused one. A rather large part of him had managed to put her out of his mind during the war. In his darkest moments, he had managed to convince himself that she was nothing but a hallucination, a woman he made up to give himself an idea of a happy ending. That maybe she was just a by-product of his so desperately not wanting to be alone.

But no, she was real, and her hand was in his, and together, they were running from living plastic mannequins, and it was all so completely, incredibly, fantastic.
