Twists of Fate
Tumblr media
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x Reader, past Jimmy Palmer x Reader
WC: 2.5k
Description: After being cheated on by an NCIS agent, you decide to move to Quantico and join the BAU. What happens when you fall for the Handsome Unit Chief? Will you confront your past, or will it stop you from moving on?
Author’s Note: This has been in my drafts for like months. I actually forgot about it. The reader is Gibbs daughter as well, so there’s a lot going on, but I actually liked how this turned out. Lmk what you think <3. Also, not my gif.
——————————————————
"You cheated on me?" You asked hesitantly. So quiet he barely heard it. His eyes closed and he held his head in his hands.
"I don't- I don't understand. Y-you said you had to work late." Your lip quivered, and your voice stayed quiet and soft. He wished you would yell at him. He wished you were angry. It would be so much easier than the heartbroken look on your face.
"I'm so sorry y/n. I don't know what I was thinking. It just, it just happened." He desperately wanted to bring you into his arms. To hold you. To kiss you. But he lost that privilege
"I- I. I thought you loved me." You were full on crying now. You couldn't bring yourself to do anything but sob silently on the couch. You were so heartbroken. "I thought we were happy." You sniffed, trying so hard to stop the tears.
"Y/n it was a one time thing. I still love you. You are the love of my life. I want to marry you and have kids with you and grow old with you. Please, please forgive me. Please baby." He grabbed your hands, and you let out a sob.
"No." Your voice remained small as you pulled your hands away. Slowly you stood up, the tears still falling. "Goodbye Jimmy." He was crying now.
"Please don't go. Please. I love you. Baby we can work this out. Please." But you ignored his pleas. You stood up, grabbed your phone and keys and walked out. You started your car and pulled out of the driveway.
You aren't sure how you made it there in one piece, but you seemed to have mastered the art of driving while crying.
You drove to the only person who would make you feel any better at all.
Gibbs.
You pulled into his driveway, shut off your car, and made your way inside. You searched around and found him in the basement.
"Y/n? What's th’matter?” He set down his sander and walked over to you as soon as he saw the tears in your eyes. You didn't cry often, so it shocked him seeing you like this.
"Dad." You let out a sob. He held you tight and ran his hand through your hair soothingly.
"Hey, hey. Calm down f’me. Breathe. Tell me what happened." There was no sugar coating it, so you just said those dreadful words.
"He-he cheated on me." His eyes flashed with anger before he quickly brought you into his arms even tighter than before.. You were crying so hard now. He had never seen you so broken. He wished he could do something, anything. He didn't even know you were seeing anyone. Well he knew, of course he knew. He just didn't know who.
"It's okay sweetheart, I'm right here." He held you until you calmed down. He took you upstairs, made you some tea and sent you to bed. You didn't sleep a wink. No matter how comfortable the guest bed was.
You woke the next morning feeling even worse than the night before. You hated this feeling. You hated that a man had reduced you to feeling this way.
You could barely eat, or sleep, or even process anything.
It was torture.
This routine continued for about 2 weeks, before you had had enough.
You knew your father would hate it. But you needed to leave.
You just couldn't stay.
"I think that I'm going to move to Quantico. Take that job with the FBI." You said at dinner one night. Your dad looked slightly shocked, but not overall surprised. He was silent for a long time before speaking up.
"Well, you know I will support you in whatever you do. Even if it is the FBI." You giggled at the distaste in his voice.
"I just think I need to start over. Get away from everything. It's just too hard to stay in DC right now." He understood. And of course he helped you move all of your stuff and settle in in the upcoming weeks. He really didn't like that you were going into the FBI instead of NCIS, but he was just glad you were happy.
And you really were. Over the next month, you really picked yourself up. Your new team, the BAU, had become like another family. They welcomed you with open arms and you felt truly whole for the first time since you found out Jimmy cheated. They, of course, figured that out quickly, being profilers and all. And they all were quick to decide that they hated whoever Jimmy Palmer was.
The next couple months of settling into the team were perfect. You were best friends with Spence and Morgan. Jj had turned into the sister you had lost long ago. Prentiss and Garcia are always ready for a girls night. And Rossi, who was pretty close with your dad, watching over you at your father's request. The only person you had yet to get close to, was Hotch. Jj told you not to take it personally. That he was a closed off man and that he didn't really like change. You of course just thought he didn't like you.
That was until a particular case, where an unsub was hunting down women that looked very similar to you. The team decided it was best that you go undercover, and you were all for it ready to do your job. Unfortunately, it didn't go well. The unsub pulled a gun before anyone could think and shot you in the shoulder. It was unbearably painful and you can barely remember what happened. But you remember Hotch standing over you, applying pressure to your wound. He looked scared as hell and that was just about more terrifying than getting shot. You passed out soon after that.
Waking in the hospital was awful. The lights are too bright, the pain in your shoulder, that scratchy throat. But the hand on your own shocked you more than anything. You looked over to find a fluff of dark hair on the side of your bed. You recognized it instantly as Hotch. Your heart fluttered and you gently shook him awake. He shot up.
"Y/n. You're awake." You smiled softly at him. "How do you feel?"
"Like I was shot." His face hardened. "But overall okay I guess. But wh-what are you doing here?" You asked, scared for his response.
"I couldn't leave. Seeing you get shot, just made me realize how stupid I was being." He wasn't making sense.
"Hotch, you lost me." He stared into your eyes.
"Aaron, call me Aaron please." You were so very confused. "I'm going to do something and feel free to slap me."
"Wha-?" You were cut off by his lips on your own. You were shocked, but it didn't take you long to kiss him back. You were lost in each other, your lips meeting with unmatched passion. But your thoughts strayed to the fact that you were kissing your boss. You had sworn that after Jimmy had cheated on you, you would never date another agent. You hadn’t been on your father’s NCIS team, but you had still had to work with Jimmy on occasion, and ultimately left when he broke your heart.
It was with this thought that you pulled away from Hotch. He looked at you, a smile on his face, and your next words, physically hurt to say.
“We can’t.” You whisper, and his smile falls. His eyebrows furrow, and he nods in understanding.
“Of course, I don’t know what I was thinking.” He pulls his hand away, and you watch him close himself off. He stands, leans across your bed and presses a kiss to your forehead, before turning to leave.
Were you making a mistake? Hotch isn’t Jimmy. You can’t judge every man because you were hurt one time.
“Wait!” Hotch stops in the doorway. He turns slowly, and his eyes meet yours. You’re too scared to say what you really want to, so you say anything that comes to mind.
“Why didn’t you say anything sooner?” You ask, and Hotch takes a moment before moving back to his chair.
“I didn’t want to scare you away. I know you were hurt in your last relationship.” He pauses, hesitantly taking your hand in his. “And I was scared.” His eyes meet yours once again. “So I pushed you away. I tried as hard as I could to not get close to you. But then you got hurt, and I didn’t want anything to happen to you without you knowing that I care about you. A lot.” He waits with bated breath for your response. And when a smile blooms across your face, he lets out a breath of air.
“I promised myself I would never date someone I work with again.” You squeeze his hand and place your other on his cheek. “But, I know you aren’t Jimmy. I know you would never try to hurt me.” Your heart pounds out of your chest. “I care about you too. A lot.” You whisper, and his lips are on yours again. It’s less passionate than the first time, but just as meaningful. In that moment, you know you made the right choice.
And that was the beginning of your relationship. It was rocky in the beginning. Trying to hide it from the team was close to impossible, but it worked for about 5 months. They eventually caught the two of you making out in the break room when you had thought everyone had left. Aaron's fault really.
He had insisted everyone was gone.
Of course a girls night was planned where you told them everything, from the first kiss, to the first date, to when you met Jack, and the fact that you practically lived at his apartment.
About a year into the relationship, he asked you to move in with him, and of course he met your dad. You weren't the least bit surprised when you walked away for a second and heard your father tell Aaron that he would "kill him and make it look like an accident if he ever hurt his daughter." To which Aaron replied with an awkward chuckle, simply saying he would never hurt you, that you were the love of his life.
Another 6 months brought you to a very fancy restaurant and the man you had hopelessly fallen in love with down on one knee next to your table. You both cried as you said yes and kissed softly as strangers surrounding you cheered. Everything had turned around, and you were so incredibly happy.
That was, until your first joint case with NCIS.
It was a normal day and everyone was sitting at their desks when Aaron came out of his office.
"We have a case. It's a bad one, wheels up in 20. We'll be collaborating with one of the NCIS teams in DC. We'll brief you on the plane. Gibbs, my office please." You stood and walked up to his office, not at all surprised that he called you up. You were dreading his next words.
"It's your dad's team." You sighed. Aaron was surprised at the saddened look on your face. He was the only one, besides your father, who didn't know who the cheating ex was. "What's wrong?"
"There is something I should tell you." You took a deep breath before sitting in the chair in front of his desk. "The guy I was with before you, the guy who cheated on me, is Jimmy Palmer. He's on my father's team. My dad doesn't even know that it's him. But I want you to know before you hear it from anyone else." He was quick to walk around the desk and he pulled you into his arms.
"If you need to sit this one out you can. We can manage." You smiled softly at his kindness. This man understood you like no other.
"No, it's alright. I haven't seen the man in almost 3 years, and I'm sure it will be fine." You couldn't have been more wrong. It was in fact very not fine. As soon as you entered the NCIS building, a sense of dread filled you. Jimmy’s wide eyes found yours and as soon as he was introduced, the team instantly knew who he was. The case was messy, especially since no one from your team trusted Palmer, at all. But you managed to close the case while saving the last victim. Both teams had decided to go out to a bar to celebrate and you were dreading it.
The bar wasn't too crowded, and you stayed relatively close to Aaron or your father most of the night. Jimmy had taken that as a sign to stay away from you. And it worked, until you went to get refills. He volunteered to help and there was no escaping. Once you reached the bar and ordered the drinks he began talking.
"Listen Y/n, I just wanted you to know that I miss you a lot." He began, taking your hand in is. It took everything in you not to punch him square in the nose. "And I still love you. I was hoping that you might want to give us another chance." You were shocked. The man you hadn't seen in 3 years, who had cheated on you had the audacity to say all of this.
"I-I don't feel that way for you anymore. I'm sorry Jimmy. But you screwed up, and you lost me. You need to deal with that." You grabbed the drinks and took them back to your table. Aaron and your father recognized the look of panic in your eyes and they were instantly on alert. Aaron was about to say something when Jimmy grabbed your arm.
"Y/n, you're being ridiculous. We were happy, we can still be happy." You tried ripping your arm from his grasp, but he had a rather tight hold. Aaron stood and he towered over Jimmy. Jimmy glared at Aaron, but his next words shook Palmer to his core.
"Let go of my fiance." He spoke sternly. The look on Jimmy’s face was priceless. "Now." He did as he was told.
"Y-your fiance?" You nodded your head, lifting your hand to sheepishly show Jimmy the ring. Your dad cleared his throat from behind you and had a look of utter confusion on his face.
"Ah yes. Dad, this is the cheating ex. Jimmy, this is my dad, but I'm pretty sure you know him." Palmer looked scared as your father stood next to Aaron. He was quick to turn around and run out of the building, his tail between his legs. You turned around and looked at Aaron with love and adoration.
"Thank you." He smiled softly and took you into his arms. And you all sat back down and enjoyed the rest of your evening. And that night as you lay in bed with Aaron, you couldn't help but smile at the twists of fate that led you to the moment.

Kiss Cam
Tumblr media
First can I just say ^^^ Damn 😍
Summary: When you and Parker go to the Cubs game, you end up on the Kiss Cam.
Warnings: mention of death.
Word count: 1639
Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: Alden Parker x f!reader
Kiss Cam
Once you got used to Alden being around instead of Gibbs, you began to get to know him. Soon you found out you had things in common, like, you both like the Cubs. You were born in Chicago and your dad always took you to a game when he was on leave. It was your thing. But after he died, you stopped going. It was just too painful to go without your best friend.
Parker had asked you if you wanted to go to a couple of games now but you always declined. Partly because it was your father-daughter bonding activity. But also because you now harboured a large and not very subtle crush on you new boss and being alone with him both excited you and scared the crap out of you. You knew you’d do something stupid and then you’d have to quit.
Everyone on the team knew. In fact, everyone in the building knew. All except Parker. Or at least he didn’t show any indication that he knew.
Jess was the first to notice your longing looks. Then Kasie, then McGee. Torres was the last to notice and he ended up handing Jess, 20 bucks. Over the next few months, they start to notice that the boss may feel the same way. You didn’t believe them. I mean the guy was quite possibly the sexiest guy you’ve ever seen.
Soon they get sick of the two of you just looking at each other all the time when the other isn’t watching. So, Torres and Jess buy you two some tickets to the next Cubs game and they weren’t going to let you say no. McGee told them not to push you but they didn’t listen but then again, they didn’t know the reason you said no.
McGee did. He was there. He was there with you through it all. Your dad came back from a tour and he was hit by a car which put him in a coma. McGee sat with you, in the waiting room, in your father’s room. When you found out your father was brain dead, he was right there with you. He was right there when you had to make the decision to turn off the life support. McGee used all his comp time to stay with you. For so long it was just you and your dad and when you lost him, you lost yourself.
You didn’t leave your house in months, not until McGee decided to drag you out and take you to the one person, he knew always made you smile. Ducky. The guy was like a grandfather to you. You reckon your dad would have like him too, because he was a sucker for a good story and Ducky had plenty of them.
Slowly you began to realise that you still had family and you still had people who cared about you. McGee, Ducky, Abby, Tony, Ziva and Gibbs, who became your secondary parental figure. You almost broke down again when he didn’t return, but when McGee told you about what he said, about Shannon and Kelly and how he was finally at peace, you were happy. Maybe you’d find that one day too.
When Jess and Nick presented the tickets to you both, they claimed that some friends gave them to them and since they weren’t fans, they wanted you to have them so they didn’t go to waste.
“You wanna go?” Parker asked you. You looked over to McGee, your eyes pleading for him to help you, “I take that as a no,” he sighed, moving towards Jess to take the tickets but Jess pulled them out of his reach. His eyebrow furrowed in confusion.
“You both should go. You both like the Cubs, so why not?”
“Jess, she doesn’t wan…”
“I haven’t been to a game since my dad died,” you admitted aloud, your eyes looking at your feet. You sniffled, wiping your eyes trying to compose yourself before raising your head to look at Parker, “It was never because I just didn’t wanna go with you. It was just,” you paused, shrugging as you glanced quickly at McGee then back to his gorgeous hazel eyes, “I-it was something we did together, father-daughter bonding, you know?”
Parker smiled softly, nodding his head. He was glad that you weren’t trying to actively avoid him but seeing you cry made his heart ache, it took all his power not to pull you to him and hold you until the pain numbed, “We can leave if it gets too much,”
You thought about it for a second, looking over at McGee who nodded and mouthed ‘go on’
“okay”
***
It’s the day of the game and you were nervous. Why? Because you had no idea what you were going to wear. Should you wear your jersey and cap or should you wear something to impress the man that you spend most of your time thinking about?
After much internal debate, you decided to go in your jersey. Simply because you argued with yourself so much that you didn’t leave enough time to figure something else out.
A knock sounded at the door and your inner teenager squealed as if this was your first date. Don’t be stupid. You thought to yourself. It’s not a date. No way someone as sexy, beautiful, handsome, hot, gorgeous… okay stop before you get too carried away.
You picked up your purse and headed for the door, you quickly opened it and you were greeted by Parker. In a cubs sweatshirt. Something you never thought you’d find so sexy and yet this man proves you wrong.
He looked up at you, looking at your cap, “You ready to go?”
“Yeah,” you said, grabbing your keys from the bowl you kept beside the door. Something you had to do because at least you knew where they were.
 The car ride was mostly silent, until Parker noticed your leg bouncing up and down. He reminded you that you could leave at any time if it got too much. You reassured him that you were okay, just nervous.
When you got to the Ballpark, as if on autopilot, you went to get a hot dog. You apologize to Parker when you realise what you’d done. He just smiled and told you not to worry about it.
You got to your seats and the game began. At first you felt guilty for having fun but soon when you see Parker enjoying himself and being very enthusiastic, you start to relax and just enjoy the moment. You laughed when the kiss cam came up, remembering when you and your dad appeared one year, on your 12th birthday and he kissed your nose. But then something happened. You and Parker were on the screen.
You try to cover your face as everyone around you cheers. Both you and Alden shake your heads and the cheers turn to boos. The cam finally moves on to others and the game resumes. Then it happens again. Several times.
You rolled your eyes, fed up, “Oh, for fuck sake!” you yell before grabbing Alden’s face, bringing his lips to yours. What were you doing? Although, he’s not pulling away. Cheers erupted but you barely register them. All you can think about is the feeling of his silky smooth lips on yours. His moustache tickling your nose. But your about to get too carried away. You wanted nothing more than to deepen the kiss, to straddle him, to be as close to him as possible. But you were in public, so you reluctantly pull away, blushing. Quickly you turn your attention back to the field as the game resumes, to hide the heat that was coating your usual pale complexion.
“I wonder why they kept coming back to us,” Alden spoke up after about half an hour of silence. He was in shock that you made a move. That you kissed him, on tv, for the world to see. Him. An old man.
You looked at him and shrugged, “Don’t know,” before turning your gaze back to the game.
Yeah, you didn’t know, but there were two people who did.
“Thank you, my good sir,” Nick said as he slipped a hundred bucks to the camera man.
“Think it’ll work?” Jess asked as they both make their way out.
“It was my idea, of course it’s going to work,” Torres cockily replied.
Jess rolled her eyes at him, “I’m amazed you can still fit that big head in the elevator,”
After the game was over, Parker dropped you off back home. He began to apologize about the kiss cam and for being the one they made you kiss. Did he seriously think that you thought kissing him was a bad thing?
You wanted to eliminate those thoughts from his mind, so without the thousands of screaming fans, telling you to kiss. You told yourself. You brought your hand to his face, his beard slightly tickling the palm of your hand and brought his lips down to yours.
This time, it was slow, sweet and private. But now being alone, your self control was slipping away. You brought your other hand to his hair as you deepened the kiss but all too soon he pulled away.
“What are we doing?”
“Kissing,” you shrugged. “You apologized for me having to kiss you on the kiss cam. But it’s something I’ve wanted to do for months,”
“Why me?”
“Don’t you own a mirror?” you asked him, he laughed and pulled you back into a kiss, this one more needy, more desperate. Tongues colliding, teeth clashing. When you pulled away for air, you let your head fall to rest in the crook of his neck and the next words you said would change your relationship forever.
“Stay”
[A/N] hope you liked it. Sort of inspired by the movie "Set it Up" love Zoey Deutch, she's just so adorable and funny in that.

Gibbs x Daughter!reader - best for you
Tumblr media
Could you request, Leroy Jethro Gibbs x daughter reader, who is going to nevermore academy, the reader is a banshee - Anon💜
Sitting on the table, you smiled at your friends as they all walked over and you offered them half a wave.
“Hey, you looking forward to seeing your families?” You asked.
There was mixed reviews, some saying they were, some saying they weren’t, namely Wednesday and slightly Enid.
“I mean I’m happy, but I’m nervous.” Enid sighed.
“Well you can always come sit with me and my dad.” You beamed.
“Is that offer extended to everyone? I would much rather have an escape option from my overbearing parents.” Wednesday said.
“Sure why not. Dad won’t mind.”
She nodded her head and you guys carried on mingling about until it was time for you all to go and wait for your families.
You were beyond nervous to see your dad, you hadn’t seen him since you arrived here and you guys hadn’t left on the best of terms.
“(Y/N), a word?” Weems asked.
You nodded and let her pull you aside.
“I know you’re waiting for your father, but I never received any reply to if he is going to be attending or not.” She sighed.
“Yeah I know… I’m hoping he does but I mean I can’t say I blame him if he doesn’t…” you mumbled.
She nodded her head and offered you a gentle smile.
“I’m sure he just needs some time to accept what has happened, I’ve spoken to Mr Gibbs a few times over the phone since you started.”
You rose a brow, knowing your dad wasn’t one for technology, let alone talking in the phone unless he really had to.
“Did he sound kind of young? Like did he make some strange sounding jokes?”
Weems hummed for a moment before she nodded her head.
“In fact, he did. I didn’t think too much about it seeing as you like your strange jokes as well.” She said.
You laughed a little and shook your head as you pulled out your phone and showed her a photo of your dad.
He didn’t come in when he dropped you off, he said goodbye to you at the gate before he left since he had to be at work the following day.
“That’s my dad. You spoke to one of his team members, my uncle Tony. Dads an ex marine, he wouldn’t be as childish as Tony.”
“Right, well since he isn’t a legal guardian I can’t keep giving him updates on you.”
“Please keep doing it. My dad isn’t great with technology, Tony probably passed all this along to him. Please Miss, he’s my uncle.”
Weems sighed and looked at you.
“I’ll have to see if I can. But for now, you’ve got a visitor.”
She turned you around and you saw your dad standing unsurely by empty table looking around a bit uncomfortable.
Gasping, you rushed over and ran to him, stopping just in front of him as you gave him a huge smile.
“I’m so glad you came dad.”
Gibbs looked down at you and his face was stern for a moment before he finally cracked a small smile and reached out to hug you.
“Hey sweetheart.” He whispered.
He wrapped his arms around you and you smiled to yourself as you held him back.
He let go and you led to him to the empty table and sat down in front of him.
“I didn’t think you’d come…” you whispered.
“Of course I would, you’re my daughter (Y/N), why wouldn’t I come?” He asked.
You shrugged a little bit and sighed at him.
“I… after everything that happened… you didn’t seem to be happy when you found out about… you know… what I am…”
Gibbs sighed as he reached over, taking your hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“I’m sorry if I made you feel that way sweetheart, I just wasn’t sure you wanted to speak to me after what happened before you left.”
You laughed a little and shook your head at him as you smiled.
“Dad, we had a fight. You were shocked and scared, I understand. I was as well, we both said some harsh things.”
“I want you to know I didn’t mean a single word.”
“Me neither.” You smiled.
Gibbs asked you about your studies and what the taught at Nevermore. He asked you about what you mainly focused on and about your friends.
Looking around the quad, you pointed them all out to him.
“Wednesday isn’t like us though, she’s what we call a normie. But she’s pretty cool, very straight forward though.” You chuckled.
He nodded his head and he looked around before turning back to you.
“Did you learn anymore about what you are?” He asked.
“Yeah! I’m a banshee, apparently my predictions can happen at any time, but mostly when someone is close to death. But I can apparently control it though it’ll take a while.”
“Right.”
You carried on explaining everything to Gibbs and he sat there listening.
You couldn’t help but smile as you explained everything and seeing the smile on your face made Gibbs smile as well.
He missed you, he missed talking to you like this. But he knew Nevermore was the best place for you at the moment, up until the point you felt like you had good control over your powers.
But if you wanted to come home he’d take you back with him be it day or night

Firearm Training - Abby Sciuto x Gibbs'!Daughter Reader
Pairing: Abby Sciuto x Gibbs'!Daughter Reader
Includes: fluff, slight hurt/angst?, cute moments with Abby, Abby comforting you, soft Gibbs moment because he’s your dad
Warnings: guns, shooting guns (at paper targets)
Word Count: 2395 (I hope this finds people who also love Abby bc it’s so rare that I make it to 2000 words)
Brief Description: Your dad (Gibbs) wanted you to learn firearm safety and how to shoot a gun after several incidents of members of his team and/or their loved ones being targeted. You did fine for most of the lesson but did not handle live fire well. You had an emotional reaction to it but tried to push through until Abby came up to comfort you. Your dad took you and her to get milkshakes and cookies after to help you feel better.
~~~
Firearm training. You were here because your dad wanted you to learn firearm safety and how to shoot a gun. You weren’t fond of loud noises; you preferred bows and crossbows to a gun anyday. However, after several incidents of the team being targeted and even your girlfriend Abby being violently stalked by an ex, you could understand your dad wanting you to learn how to use a gun. Most of the team was there, save for Ducky and Palmer. It was you, Abby, Tony, Tim, Ziva, Director Shepard, and your dad for the day on a private outdoor range with one of your dad’s friends as the instructor. You used one of your dad’s pistols for the day, with “GIBBS”written on the side of the magazine. The guns were all on tables for now as for the first section of the day, your group was reviewed on the build and mechanisms of standard pistols and magazines.
Sitting in a circle with the team, you learned firearm safety: how to carry and handle a pistol safely; the build and parts of a basic pistol: how to take it apart, clean it, reassemble it; and its functions: how to load rounds into a magazine followed by how to load and unload a pistol without shooting it. You did a few rounds of safety checks and learned to never assume it’s unloaded. You practiced dry firing it and the instructor helped you with your hand positioning and grip; your stance was already solid from your previous years in martial arts. The dry fire shooting felt easy going and made you feel cool as you heard the click of shooting imaginary bullets at the target. Your dad and girlfriend both looked at you often with proud expressions on their faces as you quickly picked up each concept and were doing quite well in the course thus far.
It was 4 hours into the course and was finally time for lunch. After lunch it would be time to start shooting live rounds at paper targets. However, for now you all just gathered round and decided to go to a local diner for lunch. It was a 20 minute drive there, and despite there being 8 of you, you were all seated right away as the town you were in was remote enough for the diner to be sparse on patrons. You sat next to Abby, Director Shepard next to her, and the instructor at the end of your side of the table. Ziva was in front of you then, Tony, McGee, and your dad filling the other 3 seats on that side of the table respectively. You and Abby ordered fried chicken and waffles to share, your dad and Shepard got steaks, Ziva, Tony, and McGee got sandwiches, and the instructor got a burger. You all took your time to enjoy the meal in each others’ company, you occasionally leaning your head on Abby’s shoulder or her stealing a bite of the waffle you were nibbling on. After much enjoyment and frivolity, you all ended up returning to the range an hour and a half later for the second half of the course.
You got out of Abby’s car and walked over to the range, Shepard and the instructor already waiting on the course as they rode with your dad, and Tony was close on the way driving Ziva and McGee. You, Abby, your Dad, and director Shepard were already set up as you and Abby were borrowing a pair of your dad’s spare handguns that he stored in his car. Each of your respective guns and accessories were set on the tables, now accompanied by trays of live rounds. Tony’s, Ziva’s and McGee’s guns and gear were with them already, and they would have to set it up themselves upon arriving. The trio soon arrived, and as they got set up, the instructor had the rest of you start with putting on your noise canceling headphones and safety glasses. You glanced over at Abby, adored at how amazing she looked even in the firearm noise canceling headphones and glasses, the headphones set against her bow topped pigtails. The instructor then called for a safety check, followed by loading your magazines with a few live rounds. You were starting to feel a bit anxious as you’d never fired a live round before and the instructor warned you’d need a firm grip to counter the power of shooting live rounds. Before picking up the guns to load in the magazines, Abby leaned over and kissed your cheek— likely leaving a lipstick mark— and gave your hand a squeeze. “You’ll do fine,” she assured you with a gentle smile, clearly noticing your nerves start to kick in.
You lined up with the rest of your group, the instructor on your left to help with your lesson, and Abby on your right for moral support. The instructor led for everyone to begin. Each in your group aimed their guns forward  and the instructor made minor adjustments to your grip before telling you to place your finger on the trigger and fire when ready. Before you could do so, you heard the first few shots fired from the team and flinched, your eyes closing at the same time. You opened them and took a deep breath trying to brush it off and fixed your own aim. The instructor had held up her hand to signal everyone else to stop firing so as to let you focus. You aimed at the target, took a deep breath, and slowly pulled the trigger as instructed. On the outside you appeared calm, but it felt like winding a jack in the box until *BANG!* You jumped and your hands were shoved up as your body absorbed the inertia of the shot. You looked at your instructor and pasted a smile on your face as she told you that you’d done well. Tears started to form in the corners of your eyes but you fought them, slightly confused as to why they were forming as you didn’t feel particularly sad. You flashed your plastered smile at Abbs, and she smiled in return as she took a few shots herself. You still flinched at every loud bang, but you pushed it all down. It was fine, you were fine. You asked the instructor for some advice on how to avoid losing your grip again, “Uhh, how do I keep my hands from shooting up when the gun fires and keep my grip?”. The instructor moved you into position and put her hands over yours on the gun, “you gotta make sure there is no space between your hands and hold your (dominant) hand firmly with your (non-dominant) hand”. You nodded, giving an ok in response before the instructor took a break to use the restroom. Abbs had finished a few rounds and put her gun on the table before coming up to you from the side. She laid a hand on your back and left a gentle kiss on the back side of your neck, “I’ll be over at the tent babe, you’re doing great!”, she informed you before returning cheerfully to the tent set up for breaks and spectating. It was now you, Ziva, McGee, Tony, and Director Shepard on the range. Your dad was watching from the tent along with Abbs who had just sat in one of the chairs to spectate with him.
You prepared to take another shot and aimed at the target when Ziva came up beside you, “Fix your grip, there’s a gap between your hands again.” You did as she told you and thanked her before putting your finger on the trigger and slowly pulling it again. *BANG!* You jump again and silent tears form. You try to push through and keep your gaze forward so as to not let anyone onto the tears nearly falling down your face. You take a deep breath your heart racing, fixing your grip before pulling the trigger a third time, *BANG!* Silent tears start to fall down your cheeks, still baffling you as you don't feel sad or upset. A sniffle tips off Ziva who leans over to look at your face. She notices the tears and bluntly inquires, "What are the tears for? You're only shooting at a paper." You feel bad for not being able to stop it and feel pressured to suck it up, responding that you’re fine and start setting up for another shot. Abby heard from the chairs set up at the tent behind the shooting range and immediately made her way over, your father Gibbs behind her. Your calm steadiness starts to waver as your hands begin to shake. You breathe, put your finger on the trigger and take your 4th shot, losing your grip on the gun as your hands start to shake even more. You bring your (non-dominant hand) back onto the gun and aim at the target once more, hands and arms shaking profusely and tears streaming down your face, blurring your vision a bit.
Ziva is baffled at your emotional state, giving you a confused look as to why this is making you cry. You didn’t really understand why yourself, you just knew you couldn’t stop it or hold it back even though you didn’t necessarily feel upset. You hear another couple shots  from Tony and McGee and flinch again. By this time, Abby has finally made it to you and pressed her body against your back, wrapping one arm around you and grabbing the gun out of your hands with the other. You turn and melt into her, tears still falling down your face and she rubs her thumb against your back trying to calm you a bit, “Darling, it’s ok, you did so good. You don’t have to keep going.” Your dad makes it over and looks to Ziva who is still perplexed, “Stop staring and take the gun from Abby would ya?!” You bury yourself further into Abby as Ziva takes the gun out of Abby’s hand and places it on the table. Now with a free hand, Abby turns the volume all the way off on your headphones to reduce the loudness of the gunshots. You look up at her. “It helps a bit to have the volume all the way down” she tells you as she holds your face and wipes the tears away with her thumb. You bury your face into her neck and she wraps her other arm around you, holding you close and whispering affirmations and sweet nothings into your ear. Your dad puts a hand on your shoulder, standing behind Abby to talk to you, “Hey, you did good kid. You can stop if you want to. I just wanted you to know how to shoot if you ever need to. Now you can.” Abby walked you over to the tent and sat against a table, keeping you in her arms as you calmed down, rubbing circles on your back with her thumb. The rest of the team kept on shooting, your Dad taking your place in the lineup. Director Shepard came over and leaned against the table beside Abby, placing a hand on your back and reassuring you, “Hey, you’re ok.” She smiled, and you tried to smile back in return, still shaking a bit. “You can sit over here with us while they finish the course, no need to go back out.” After a few minutes, your breathing had finally evened out again, and Abby brought you around the table to the chairs while keeping you close to her. She sat down and guided you to sit in her lap as Director Shepard sat in the chair beside hers. You sat across her lap, legs over the side of the chair, and leaned into her. You kept your head on her shoulder as she put one around your waist and left the other one free. You still flinched at most of the shots the rest of the team took so Abby pulled out your book to distract you a bit. She held you in her arms and read your book with you until the shooting course was over.
Afterwards, the team packed up all their gear and put it into their respective cars, your dad packing up for you and Abby as both of you had borrowed his spare pistols for the course. Tony, Ziva, and McGee left first, bidding the rest of you farewell. Your dad came up to you and Abby, both of you still consumed in the book, and pulled it down to get both your attention, “Hey, how about we go to the diner for milkshakes before heading home?” You liked the idea. Shepard joined the three of you; she had felt like a mother to you and Abby. The instructor bid you all a farewell as she had her own car to return home with and still had to pack up the course for the night.
Around 20 minutes later, you had arrived at the diner and been seated in a 4 person booth, you and Abby on one side and Gibbs and Shepard on the other. Your dad ordered a chocolate malt shake, Shepard a Vanilla one, and Abby a Black and White (think chocolate and marshmallows). You still felt shaken so Abby, knowing your favorites, ordered your favorite milkshake as well as a double order of chocolate chip cookies for you and her to share. Once the waitress had gone to put in your orders, Abby pulled you close by the waist and the two of you sat nuzzled up together. You remained like this still when your orders arrived and as you enjoyed the sugary rewards of the day. After you were done, the sun was starting to set so your dad paid the bill and you all headed out: Shepard with Gibbs and you with Abbs. She had her hand either on your thigh or laced into your hand for half of the ride to your house where she was spending the night. Your dad cooked dinner that night for the four of you and Shepard headed home at around 9pm. You and Abby remained cuddled up for the rest of the night before finally falling asleep, wrapped together in each other's arms.
Classes
Paring: Gibbs x fem!reader, Gibbs x daughter!oc
A/n: Thank you @sade-shark for coming up with a back and forth backbone to this fic. Also thank you for letting me write it. ALSO please go check them out! Their work is amazing and they deserve the love.
Tumblr media
It started with small family backyard campouts. Your daughter had turned four and loved the outdoors and you both always encouraged that. Jethro loved to boast about how when Oakley turned ten, they’d actually go camping. Oakley had always been a daddy’s girl from the day she was born. Over time she wasn’t as much of a daddy’s girl but definitely still had a strong preference for her dad.
Tumblr media
It began with little plastic trophies and sometimes some candy whenever she excelled at something. A trophy when she pitched a tent, built a fire, caught a fish, etc. He called them his “classes” and eventually she’d “graduate”. When she turned ten, she was given a pocket knife. You intanly shot him a glare.
Today you got to relax for hours, one of the first times in a long time. You did some reading, writing, laundry, and finished a whole season of the show you were watching. Your phone buzzed and you glanced over reading the text message from Jethro, The kid caught a little something and we’re bringing it home, you chuckled picturing your daughter holding a small blue gail. A little while later, you heard the door open. You watched as Oakley walked in with a two foot long cattail. “Look mommy! I caught a fish!” You stared in amazement and honestly, a little jealousy. “Kid, how on god's green earth did you pull that out of the water?”
Jethro helps your daughter deal with the fish as you walk back to sit down on the couch. He walks in and stares at you. Your jealousy is clear as day to him, “You’re jealous of a child?” You glance up at him, looking him dead in the eyes. “How the fuck did Oakley catch that while I can’t even catch a fucking goldfish” He shrugs.
You push yourself off the couch and head upstairs, passing Oaklyn in her room playing with legos as you walk into your bedroom. You walk over to the right side before flopping into the bed. You hear Jethro walk in and lie next to you but you ignore him and continue to stare at the ceiling.
After about ten minutes you start laughing, realizing how stupid you were acting. Jethro smiles, always his happiest when you are laughing. He looks at you and before placing a kiss on your temple. “Gross.” Oakley says. You chuckle, and Jethro looks at you “Better?” You stare at him, “Always better with you.”
With a Little Help From the Team - NCIS Reader Insert
Pairing: Tim McGee x fem!reader, Gibbs x daughter!reader (brief/vague)
Word count: 2717
Warnings: this was a pretty fluffy piece! (not gonna lie), mild language, reader is Gibbs’ daughter
Request: @ncisfan “Hello! I saw your post from this morning saying you didn’t have any requests for ncis at the moment and I wanted to make a request. If for some reason you don’t want to write it that’s okay but here’s my prompt,(Idk what to call it) The reader and McGee have been dating for years and McGee has to tell the whole team (Tony, McGee, Bishop, Gibbs. That team please!) including her dad (Gibbs, cause why not?) when he wants to propose. You can decide on if they say yes or no but I hope you’ll write it. Sorry if I’m overwhelming you I just wanted to make a request”
A/N: I know I’ve told you this @ncisfan , but I absolutely love this idea! And a McGee x reader? Yes please! I did put this in both McGee’s and the reader’s point of view and changed it up a bit. (Yeah, I got super involved in this one and it got longer than I thought…and took far longer than I thought) I hope you enjoy it darling!!
Tumblr media
Tim stands in the bullpen, nervously trying to find the right words to tell the team about you, the team of which just so happened to include the one man capable of making him feel like a young schoolboy still wet behind the ears, especially since that one man had a lot to do with what Tim was about to say.
Tim takes a deep breath to gather his last bit of courage and confidence, which promptly fades away the moment he starts talking.
“I uh…well you know that I’ve been seeing, no dating…dating Y/N.” Tim stutters out as his nerves get the better of him, completely fumbling the carefully planned out speech he had come up with prior to meeting with Gibbs.
Gibbs narrows his steely blue eyes as he wordlessly nods his head, telling Tim to continue.
“Things have been going well, really well actually. And I’ve been wanting to, or meaning to…not that I was putting it off, because I wasn’t. That’s the last thing-”
Gibbs cut him off with a “Spit it out McGee.”
“What I’m asking is for your permission, no..that’s not - I want to propose to her.” He was speaking so fast, his words were nearly running together, his sentences jamming together into one that didn’t make much sense.
Gibbs doesn’t say anything at first. Instead, he continues to stare at Tim, looking for any trace of deception in his face. “Why?” He asks gruffly, startling Tim.
“Wh-why?” Tim squeaks out, an uneasy feeling weighing on his chest as he tries to find the right words to answer a question he hadn’t prepared for.
“Yes, McGee. Why? Why do you want to marry my daughter?” Gibbs pauses, still evaluating Tim and his reaction. “Why should I want you to marry my daughter?”
Tim takes a deep breath, a sudden burst of confidence washing over him as he realizes that the answer to such a question was right in front of him. “Because I love her… honestly, I have for a long time, even before we started dating. And, more than anything, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I want to spend every day that I have left in this life showing her I love her and cherishing her the way she deserves. I can’t imagine my life without her in it.”
Gibbs surprises him then, with a small smile and a hearty clasp to his shoulder. “Alright then, probie. Now all you have to do is tell her that and of course, ask her to marry you.”
Had it been any other girl, McGee might not be struggling as much to find the words. But you weren’t just any girl. You were not only Gibbs' daughter, something that caused him far more fear than he’d ever admit (he was dating the boss’ daughter after all), but you were also close with the other members of the team, which made this whole ordeal all the more nerve wracking.
You had come to know the members of the team through your job as a technical analyst for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, meaning you spent most of your time hunting down case leads in a cubicle. Then, as you grew better at your job, and closer to Abby (who had had something to do with getting you on Gibbs team, although she’d never admit to it), you had been moved from that cubicle to a desk in Gibbs’ bullpen, unceremoniously joining the team, although not full-time as you still worked with the cyber/tech unit, your father thought so highly of (something he would never admit out loud, even to you).
You eventually became just as close to Abby as your father was, something Abby always attributed to ‘a Gibbs thing’, - “It must be a Gibbs thing because Y/N is just as great as Jethro and we just click.” Many times, if you weren’t working on a case, you could be found hanging out in the lab with Abby.
You and Tony were best friends, spending hours talking about movies and pranking each other. And, despite your “geeky background” of tech analysis, Tony never once teased you (a courtesy Tony had never given him). In fact, he had become something of a big brother to you, filling a role in your life you hadn’t ever thought you’d needed filled.
And then Ziva had joined the team, filling in little by little that hole that had been left after Kate’s death. Even with the high tension existing between Abby and Ziva, you and Ziva had hit it off right away, becoming fast friends. Eventually, despite the perceived oddness of your friendship, you, Abby, and Ziva became an inseparable trio, even occasionally ganging up together against Tony or Gibbs.
Suffice to say, you were important to the team, just as they were to you. And now Tim was faced with telling these people that he not only had been dating you (a relationship the two of you had decided to keep relatively quiet because of your line of work and the fact that you were often times coworkers), but that he was going to ask you to marry him, a proposal of which he was seeking the team’s help with.
“So, uh...I-well, I’ve been seeing, er...dating-” Tim starts, his mind scrambling as he tries to form a coherent sentence.
“McGee, the chickadee is out of the bag. We all know you’re dating Y/N.” Ziva says matter of factly,
“Cat, Ziva, the cat is out of -” Tony starts reflexively, before pausing and turning to Tim and then to Gibbs, his mouth hanging open. “Wait-what? You’re the one Y/N has been dating?” He asks incredulously.
Gibbs takes a step forward, slapping Tony on the back of the head. “Close your mouth DiNozzo.” Tony’s jaw snaps shut at the command.
“Keep talking McGee.” Gibbs says gruffly, his piercing blue eyes settling on Tim.
“I’m going to ask her to marry me.” Tim blurts out.
“We kind of knew that McGee.” Abby states, her lips pulled into a satisfied smirk. “I mean, you haven’t exactly been stealthy about ring shopping. Or buying the ring. Or getting it inscribed.” Abby lists off, earring a few incredulous looks from the other members of the team. “Y/N’s my best friend, okay? I had to make sure the ring was a good one.”
Tony turns to McGee. “McRomeo getting married? Why is this the first I’m hearing about it?” Tony steps forward to give Tim a good-natured shoulder shove. “You like it so you’re putting a ring on it, huh?” He asks with a Cheshire Cat-like grin on his face. Ziva is the one who moves to slap him in the back of the head this time.
“Ow, Ziva. What the hell was that for?” Tony asks, a hand already rubbing the spot Ziva had just smacked on the back of his head.
“When will you ever shut up and let McGee finish?” She questions, giving Tony a pointed glare. He opens his mouth to respond, but a hard look from Gibbs keeps him quiet.
Tim timidly clears his throat before continuing. “I’d like to do it here. And, um...I’d like to do it here, with all of you.” Smiles spread through the group at Tim’s words, several ideas already being blurred out by the more enthusiastic members of the team (it was Abby. Abby was already excitedly sharing ideas with the person sitting next to her, which just so happened to be Gibbs.)
——— You squeeze Tim’s hand before letting go, reaching for the handle to your car door. “See you at work.” You say with a soft smile before turning back towards your car.
“Let’s, um, let’s ride together today, to work I mean.” Tim stammers nervously, a hand on top of your driver’s side door, stopping you from leaving.
“Are you sure? I thought we were trying to keep this, us, quiet.” You ask, stepping away from your car and closer to him. He cups the side of your face with his hand, leaning forward to press a soft, chaste kiss to your lips.
“Just once, okay?” He asks quietly, a sheepish smile on his face.
You let out a small laugh. “Just this one time, alright Agent McGee?” You say with a smile, letting him take your hand and lead you towards his car. He opens the passenger door for you, closing it behind you before getting in the driver’s side. The entire ride into work is marked with Tim either giving you a huge dopey grin or a quick nervous glance, which only serves to make you suspicious, as if the insisting to ride together didn’t already.
Tim pulls into his usual parking spot, shutting off the car before turning to you. “How about we walk in together?” He asks hesitantly, a shy smile accompanying his question.
You quirk an eyebrow up at his question before responding, “Tim, it might make it pretty obvious what’s going on between us if we do that.” “Let’s do it anyway, Y/N.” He reaches over to squeeze your hand before climbing out of the driver’s side of the car and making his way to your side of the car. He opens the passenger door for you, offering you a hand to help you out, which you graciously accept. He continues to hold your hand after you are out of the car and as the two of you walk into the building, only letting go as the two of you go through security.
The two of you are the only ones on the elevator and for the entirety of the short ride, you can almost feel Tim vibrating beside you with some sort of nervous energy. You bring his hand up to your lips, pressing a gentle kiss to it before murmuring, “You okay?” He gives you a tight nod in response just as the elevator dings, announcing its arrival on your floor of the building.
You press a chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth. “Have a good day Tim, I love you.” You say, moving towards the open doors of the elevator. Tim reaches a hand out, grasping yours and stopping your exit out of the elevator.
“I, uh, I’ve got to give you something. It’s in my desk drawer, in the...bullpen.” He stammers out, quickly retracting his hand to wipe it against his suit jacket.
“Oh, can I get it at lunch?” You ask, turning back towards the front of the elevator and pressing the button to reopen the doors.
“No.” He shouts, startling you enough that you take a step back away from the sliding doors. “I mean, come with me?”
“What is up with you today Tim?” You demand, his unexplained, unnatural behavior causing your suspicions to rise, a million questions running through your head.
“Just...please.” His voice is thick with emotion, his words coming out barely above a whisper.
You silently nod your head, stepping back into the elevator and allowing the doors to close as you press the button for the floor that the NCIS team resided on. You spare a look over at Tim, whose is rubbing his hands up and down his slacks, his face turned towards the ceiling of the elevator and his lips moving in silent words.
“Tim, what is going on? You’ve been acting weird all morning and I just-” The elevator dings, announcing your arrival on the floor of the bullpen and effectively cutting you off.
Tim puts a hand over the doors, stopping them from closing as he looks at you, his kaleidoscopic eyes pleading with you to understand and to trust him. You give a small nod, taking his outstretched hand in your own and following him to the bullpen.
Right away, you notice the lights over the area of the office you’d come to know as your father’s, as Gibbs’, were off. A flash of fear settles in your chest as you begin to picture all the possible scenarios as to why your father’s part of the office was empty and dark, none of them positive. You start to walk faster, almost pushing past Tim, to get to the bullpen. You suddenly stop short when your eyes fall on Tony’s desk.
Instead of finding your best friend seated at his desk or even finding his desk empty, you see that Tony’s desktop is covered with picture frames. Your curiosity wins out over the rising fear in your chest and you step closer to the desk to inspect the framed photos.
“Oh,” A breath of surprise leaves you as you realize that they were photos of you and of Tim, taken at different times in your relationship. A series of pictures of the two of you from your second date, taken in one of the photo kiosks that you find at the mall. The two of you making goofy faces at each other in the bullpen. You and Tim bent over a computer, faces serious as you both stare at the screen. You turn to Tim’s desk next, finding it filled with vases of flowers in your favorite color.
You move towards them, leaning down to inhale their fragrant scent, your gaze landing on your father’s desk and the photos scattered across the desktop, similar to Tony’s desk, except these were pictures you’d taken of the two of you. One of the pictures from your first trip together, from the date when Tim had told you he loved you, and the first case the two of you had worked on together and a series of selfies you’d taken with Tim at various times; all laid out like a timeline of your relationship.
After a few long moments, you lift your gaze towards Ziva’s desk, curiosity seizing you as you find her desk almost empty. You quickly make your way to the front of the desk, your eyes landing on the single piece of white paper, with only one small paragraph scrawled out in the middle of the page.
Y/N,
I love you and I have something I have wanted to tell you, or rather ask you, for a long time now. I know you’re probably wondering what that question is, so if you’d turn around, I’d like to ask you it.
You slowly turn around, the paper clutched to your chest and your heart racing in your chest as your eyes find Tim’s. He gives you a small, honest smile as he takes a step forward, his hands clasping around yours before he kneels down on one knee in front of you. Your breath catches in your throat as you realize what is happening.
“I’ve loved you for years. First, as a friend, and then as a boyfriend, and now...now I want to love you as your fiance, and eventually as your husband. Would you, Y/N Gibbs, do me the honor of being my wife?” In his hands is a modest red velvet ring box, a platinum band adorned with three small diamonds nestled on the inside of the open box.
A lump forms in your throat and as you try to speak, to say yes, nothing comes out. Instead, you nod your head vigorously and close the distance between the two of you. Tim stands fully just as you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him in against you. You vaguely register noise in the background, noise you later learn is from the various members of ‘your’ NCIS team, as you feel him kiss your cheek.
“I love you.” You whisper softly before pressing a gentle kiss to his lips, savoring in the feeling of his lips against yours.
“And I love you.” He gives you a deep kiss in return, leaning in to cup a hand along the back of your neck. After a moment, you pull back enough to smile widely at him, the realization that this man would become your husband, the man that you got to spend the rest of your life with, starts to dawn on you, filling you with elation and excitement, not only for your wedding but for the future you’d had with the man you loved.
Something about the day hadn't sat right with you since this morning. You wracked your brain trying to remember if you missed a deadline, a birthday, something important.
The ding of the elevator doors opening pulled you from your thoughts. Walking into the BAU office, Derek greeted you.
"Morning, sweetheart." He grinned. "How was your date with James?"
"Hm? Oh, uh, it....it was good." You shrugged as you settled into your desk area.
"That sounded convincing," Derek spoke raising a questioning eyebrow at you.
"Oh, uh, I just have a lot on my mind." You sighed.
"Yeah? Care to share?"
"I-"
"Y/L/N." Hotch's voice interrupted. "My office." He spoke as he walked through the BAU doors, before making his way up the stairs to his office.
Groaning you pinched the bridge of your nose. Sighing, you bounded up the stairs, before knocking politely entering Hotch's office.
"Good, you're here."
You hummed in response taking a seat in front of Hotch's desk. Nervousness washed over you as you tried to wrack your brain about the previous case.
Hotch cleared his throat, seemingly knowing that you were engrossed by thoughts.
"I received an unusual call this morning." He spoke, his tone unreadable.
You nodded in acknowledgment.
An awkward silence fell between you.
"He got a call from the NCIS team," Rossi's voice spoke from behind you.
As you turned to face him, you didn't miss the eye roll he did along with a frustrated huff.
"Your father needs our help," Rossi stated moving to occupy the other chair.
"What?" You questioned your expression furrowing in confusion. "H-How do you know if he's my father... Maybe-"
"Well, at first we weren't too sure," Rossi cut your rambling off. "But then, someone named Tony called back and explained that Agent Gibbs was actually your father, and wouldn't flat out say he was."
You groaned, before pinching the bridge of your nose. "I'm gonna kill Tony."
Rossi chuckled at your response. "Why wouldn't you tell us your father was special agent Gibbs?"
"Because," You sighed, crossing your arms over your chest. "I...I wanted to achieve my goals without...favoritism."
"Hmm." Rossi pondered your confession.
"The last agency I was at...Only hired me because I was his daughter." You let out a frustrated huff. "I promised myself I wouldn't let that happen again." You frowned.
"Well," Hotch spoke, causing you to return your attention to him. "I can say that wasn't the case here."
You felt fireworks erupt in your stomach. Hotch rarely complimented someone about their job.
"You were hired here, because of your strong work ethic, your intelligence..." Hotch's voice broke off, as he gazed at you. His expression was once again unreadable.
As you held his gaze, you felt heat rise in your cheeks. The air between you suddenly felt as if there was invisible electricity.
Rossi cleared his throat bringing you both back to reality.
"I...I should get back to work." You muttered quickly standing up. Rushing out of Hotch's office, you didn't allow either man to speak before you were gone.
"What was that all about?" Derek questioned as he saw you rushed towards your desk.
"Oh, um." Your mind betraying you and going blank. "He just wanted to talk about my dad."
"Your dad?" Derek questioned while raising an eyebrow.
You shrugged in response, before turning your attention back towards your work. Glancing up, you saw Hotch gazing down at you from his office. Grinning you dropped your gaze before shaking your head.
---
"Today we have a few agents from the NCIS team." JJ introduced motioning towards the side they chose to sit on. "We have SSA Gibbs, SSA McGee, and SSA DiNozzo."
The BAU team gave them a warm greeting. JJ proceeded to introduce everyone on the BAU team. Once she was done, she began briefing everyone on the case that you would be working on.
Frowning, you gazed at the NCIS team. Leaning over you whispered to DiNozzo. "Where's Ducky?"
"He's examining another body," DiNozzo spoke leaning into you slightly. "They found another this morning."
"Another one?" You whispered furrowing your eyebrows together.
He hummed in response.
Pondering the thought, you leaned back in your chair. You had opted to sit at an end so that you would be in the middle of both teams.
Once the briefing was over, you rushed after Hotch. Grabbing his wrist, you pulled him to a halt.
"Y/N-"
"They found another body this morning." You rushed out, as worry was evident in your voice. "He's progressing faster than we anticipated."
"Are you sure?" He questioned, his eyebrows furrowing together. “Can I see the case file?”
Nodding your head, you handed him the file that you were holding. His fingers brush along yours as he gripped it.
Fireworks erupted in your stomach at the minimal contact. Since you had started working with the BAU, he had always been attracted to Hotch.
Clearing your throat, you took a slight step back as you realized the close proximity you both were in.
“This...This looks like you.” His voice was hesitant as he spoke.
“What?” You whispered in disbelief, as you rushed to his side suddenly not caring about contact or close proximity. Leaning against his arm, you gazed at the pictures of the victim. He was right, the victim had Y/H/C, Y/E/C, Y/S/C.
“I...” Your mind was quickly clouded, with a million thoughts a minute. “I don’t want you on this case, Y/L/N.” Hotch’s voice stated as he gazed down at you softly.
“With all due respect Hotch, this is my job. I’m going.”
“We need her, Hotch. We don’t need to cost another victim their life.” Rossi spoke, joining the both of you.
“Fine.” Hotch huffed before leaving you and Rossi alone.
“He means well,” Rossi spoke clearing his throat.
“How do you know?” You questioned with a raised eyebrow.
“Because he has feelings for you.”
“How-”
“Anyone with a brain and Two eyes can tell,” Rossi spoke before he walked away.
----
“We’re going to have to share hotel rooms,” Rossi spoke, as he rejoined the small group of BAU agents.
“Pretty Boy and I will share,” Derek spoke, throwing an arm around Spencer’s shoulder before taking the keycard from Rossi.
“I’ll share with Emily,” JJ spoke sending a smile her way.
JJ and Emily got on the elevator leaving the three of you alone.
“I’m rooming alone,” Rossi spoke, not bothering to stay around for Hotch to respond.
Sighing, Hotch turned toward you. A slight tint was prominent on his cheeks. “I guess it’s you and me.” He spoke, gazing at you as he tried to read you.
“Guess so.” You spoke, rocking slightly on the balls of your feet. “Shall we go?”
---
After you got in your hotel room, Aaron let you use the bathroom first, allowing you time to shower and change. Once you were done, you emerged from the bathroom.
Gazing at Hotch, you gauged his reaction. “What?” You questioned glancing down at your pajamas.
“Is...Is that my shirt?” Aaron questioned smirking slightly.
“Oh. Uh. I guess so.”
“When did you have time to steal that?”
You giggled, before shrugging. “Probably from the last time we roomed together.”
Hotch nodded before entering the bathroom, cutting the conversation short. Sighing, you made yourself comfortable in bed. As you laid there, your eyes began getting heavier and heavier. Welcoming sleep, you hadn’t heard Hotch exit the bathroom or the gentle kiss he placed on your forehead.
“Goodnight, Y/N.”
---
“Are you Y/N?” A tall man with dark hair questioned.
“Huh? Oh, yes I am. Who are you?” You asked with a raised eyebrow.
You had woke up early in the morning to go with JJ and Emily to get coffee, from a small cafe that was close to the hotel.
The man had a sly smile that made its way to his lips. “I’ve been waiting for you.” Before you could respond, he was behind you, placing a chemical-filled cloth over your nose and mouth. Sleep overwhelmed you, as your coffee and cell phone fell from your hands.
“Sleep tight, my little agent.”
Tips and tricks
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jack Sparrow x daughter!reader
Warnings: brief violence
Request: “i love your 'being jack sparrow's child' headcanons! could you write something with that father-daughter relationship, if its not too much to ask? the reader is young, maybe 13-14, and he's teaching her how to wield a sword? he shows her a few tricks, and the next time they're in battle he's keeping a close eye on her to make sure she isn't hurt/killed, and he sees her use the tricks he taught her earlier. he feels super proud of her, and lets her know it during/after the battle?”
Word count:480
“Alright, imagine you sneaking up on your opponent.” your father, Jack Sparrow, instructs. “If you ram your heel here,” he places his palm on his leg, where the knee bends. “he’s going to lose his balance and then you can knock him out just like I taught you.
You nodded, eager to prove yourself to your father. Truth to be told, he’s reluctant to take you everywhere with him, even to dangerous places like the decks of other ships, where conflict may break out easily, but you always counter his worries with the fact that you’re already 14 and quite skilled an opponent yourself – sometimes you even bested Gibbs in a spar.
“But remember, you have to strike with all your strength and be very quick, there is no room for wavering. Understand?”
You nod curtly. “Yes.”
He ruffles your hair with a loving smile. “Gibbs! Y/N needs a demonstration.”
~
You hoped this day will end as ordinarily as it begun, but you didn’t find your father waiting as you returned from the bakery, having bought a few buns with a few pilfered shillings you had.
“Dad?” you muttered as you looked around, two buns in your pocket, one in your mouth, and another ready for your father.
You gulped the last of the bread as you looked around and noticed some signs of struggle on the earthy ground – there are your dad’s steps, he was waiting for you right here. Right next to it is another, and apparently they broke out in a spar, eventually running away towards other direction.
You were tracking the prints with your knees bent, carefully stalking, expecting to find your father and his opponent, possibly fighting. You finally reached a small grove just in time – your father stood facing his opponent, cutlass on the ground and arms in the air. The unknown attacker was pointing his own cutlass right at your father’s chest, ready to strike down, yet he continued taunting him about some disaccord they had in the past. None of them had noticed you yet.
As silently as you could you drew out your cutlass, trying to silence that sizzle of metal against metal. When you were finally in the range you rammed your heel into attacker’s knee and struck him hard in the head with the pommel of your cutlass, bun still in other hand.
The attacker fell to the ground as a rag doll, mumbling something under his breath before he passed out.
Your father stood with eyes wide like plates while you simply threw him the due bun, which he caught, although still dumbstruck.
“Your welcome,” you chuckled. “Who was he?” you nudged the attackers leg with your foot.
“I don’t even remember.” he answered as he approached you, hung his hand on your shoulders and ruffled your hair as you two continued towards the ship. “That’s my girl.”
Being Angelica's and Jack's daughter would include:
Pairing: mother! Angelica x reader, Jack Sparrow x reader (PLATONIC)
Request: from @jamesnorringtonscoat "Hi i just found your blog from POTC imagines and ect. I was wondering if i could request heacanons for being Angelica Teach's daughter? Maybe Jack is the father?? If not thats totally fine have a great day!"
Note: sorry, I couldn't tag you for some reason. it got a bit out of my hands and got quite long, I hope you still like it tho! Also, this is my first time writing Headcanons, so if I did it completely wrong or something, you can just tell me and I'll start over :) sorry for taking so long!
Tumblr media
(not my gif)
-You and Angelica, your mother were very close
-She trusted you enough to bring you along on all her adventures
-when your mother found her dad, she naturally brought you along on his ship
-you and Blackbeard got quite close as well
-you never knew who your father was, untill Angelica came back on the ship with the infamous pirate captain, Jack Sparrow
-She told you while he was still unconscious
-you hadn't talked to Jack when he woke up because you were afraid he wouldn't like you
-when you reached white cap bay, both Blackbeard and Angelica told you to stay on the ship, telling you it was safe there
-but when the mermaids came on board they were proven wrong
-they tried attacking you but you grabbed your sword and fended them of
-although you killed most of them, you knew they were gonna need a mermaid who would still be alive
-before the mermaids that were still alive could get away, you grabbed a rope and bounded one of them in it
-when everyone came back on board without having caught a mermaid, you were happy that you kept the mermaid, which you had already put in the glass coffin like box with water
-let's just say everyone was surprised you could get a mermaid while they couldn't
-when you all reached the island which was told held both the fountain and ponce de leons ship, they told you to stay on the ship once again
-although this time you didn't listen and went with them
-when you all reached a valley like river, you got a good scare
-since Blackbeard almost shot your mother in the face
-you suggested to jump first and go with Jack, seeing that your pretty good at navigating and protecting yourself
-Angelica hesitantly approved while Blackbeard didn't want you going because he didn't trust Sparrow
-but since he had only known you for a few weeks, maybe months, it wasn't his choice to make
-because Jack was scared for his life, you jumped in first, hitting the water with a big splash
-you and Jack had gotten to talk while searching for ponce de Leon's ship and while you'd never admit it face to face, you liked Jack's goofiness
-when you two finnaly found the ship, Jack told you to stay, telling you something felt a bit off
-when he came back he wasn't alone, having brought back Barbossa, he seemed nice enough but since he was working for the king you were weary of him
-you asked Jack what happend in there and why he didn't bring the chalices
-Jack told you that the Spanish had them, so off you were to the camp of the Spanish
-when you arrived there you once again was told to lay back, but this time you didn't listen and went in front of Jack and Barbossa
-before they could get the change to get the chalices, you were already on the table and got them one by one, and quickly ran back
-in the end they caught you, Jack and Barbossa and tied you to a pair of trees
-you and Jack were bound together
-when you and the other were finnaly free, you and Jack went back to find your mom and granddad
-and when you found them Angelica sighed in relief, seeing that you are safe
-on the way back you found out that Jack had gotten the chalices anyway and tied them to a pig, which a guy called Gibbs was now holding on to
-you've been walking for quite a while now and was complaining, Blackbeard offered to let someone from his crew carry you, and although it was a tempting offer, you didn't want any of the crew carry you, plus you didn't fully trust them
-Blackbeard wasnt really sure if Jack was going the right way since you've practically crossed the whole island somewhat
-Then you all suddenly stopped, walking to the front you saw that Jack was looking at a raindrop that went up instead of down
-When you got to the end of the cave Jack found, while losing a crewmember, sadly, you stared at Jack, unimpressed
-you all stared weirdly at Jack before he actually found the entrance
-when you all had entered there was a fight, Angelica holding you behind her, protecting you
-she knew you could protect yourself but she didn't want to see you hurt in the slightest way
-when the battle was over, the Spanish having left and a few bodies scattered trought out the cave, both your mom and granddad had managed to get a poisoning cut
-you knew that one of them would die in these few days but you could never be prepared enough
-Angelica had decided she would "die" for her father, leaving you behind, Jack had other plans
-jack handed the two the cups and they both drank
-"Take care of our daughter when I die Jack.."
-Jack looked between you and Angelica, seeming very very confused
-then it got clear that Jack had "gotten confused in which cup he put the tear and which not" seeming that suddenly water consumed Blackbeard, taking his life
-you just stared wide eyed at the now falling bones of what used to be your grandfather
-after everything that happened in that cave, your mother gave you a big hug
-in the end Jack brought you and Angelica to a random port, leaving you there, not before promising to visit once he gets his beloved Pearl back
-both you and Angelica begging to take you two with him, not wanting to be stranded on some island
-jack gave a sympathic look before rowing away
Perfect: Gibbs x Reader
A/N: i wrote this because i just wanted to see gibbs as a dad and not have to cry because in the show he didn’t get to be one ;-;
“Jethro!” “What is it honey?” he yells from the basement. “Come here, I need to tell you something,” you yell back as you twiddle your thumbs nervously. You’ve just found out you’re pregnant, and you don’t know how your husband is going to react when you tell him.
Jethro’s footsteps approach the living room and you smile. “What is it? Something wrong?” he asks. You smile even wider and shake your head. “Nothing’s wrong, just wanted to give you this.” You show him the positive pregnancy test.
His eyes go wide and look between you and the test. “I’m pregnant, Jethro. Just found out today,” you say softly. His arms envelop you in a bear hug. “Can’t believe this is happening,” he says quietly. You stroke his cheek, tears filling your eyes. “I know, honey.”
9 months pass by in a blur, and before you know it, your due date is right in front of you. “It’s time,” you tell him with a nervous grin. “Let’s get going then,” Jethro says with a soft smile. He helps you out to the car and you drive off to the hospital.
“You gotta calm down honey. You being anxious isn’t gonna help my anxiety,” you say with a laugh as Jethro paces the hospital room. He opens his mouth to say something just as the doctor comes in with a polite smile. “Are you ready to get this show on the road?” the doctor says with a soft chuckle. “We’ll induce you and then with luck your son or daughter should be here soon.”
True to the doctor’s words, your daughter arrives into the world a few hours later with a loud cry. You immediately choke up, tears falling down your cheeks as the doctor hands her to you. “She’s so small,” you say softly as your daughter wraps her tiny hand around your finger.
You look up to see Jethro beside you, tears falling down his cheeks. “She looks like Kelly,” he says, voice cracking. “Abigail Kelly,” you say. “That’s her name. You can hold her, Jethro,” you say softly. He takes her from you with a smile.
“Hey there sweet pea. You look just like your sister, you know that? You’re perfect, just like she was when she was born. Same eyes, too. She would’ve loved you.” Your eyes fill with more tears as you watch your husband cradle your newborn daughter.
Jethro walks towards you and kisses you on the forehead. “She’s perfect, and our little family is too,” you say quietly. Jethro nods in agreement. “Perfect indeed,” he repeats.
Oh baby part 1
Gibbs x female reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Gibbs decides that he is all in with Y/N, even if that means doing something he never thought he would again, raising a baby.
Masterlist | Series Masterlist
————————
Y/N wiped her eyes for the hundrth time that minute. She peered at the sweet little girl sleeping in the brand new crib she had bought just hours ago. Y/N’s whole life had changed with one phone call and now she had to decide how much she wanted to let it change gibbs’.
Y/N and Gibbs had been dating for almost a year. Things were going well. She gave him all her heart, and still space when he needed and he gave her more love than she knew was possible. He may not have said it but he showed it. Everything was perfect, but now everything was different.
Y/N’s brother had gone off the grid a year and a half ago. Before that Y/N had taken care of him, paid for rehab, tried to get him straightened out. He alwaus ran away when he didn’t want to deal with her help anymore but she never gave up.
That morning she got a call. Her brother and his girlfriend, that she didn’t know about ,had been killed in a drunk driving accident. Their baby girl, that she didn’t know about, was in the back seat. She was an aunt and had no idea. Her brother was a dad, and now he was dead. One of them got behind the wheel DRUNK! And could have killed their daughter. What mattered now was that that little girl was in Y/N’s care.
As much as she loved Jethro Gibbs, she couldn’t pull him into this. He already had, and lost daughter, would raising Amelia(her niece) be too painful? Did he want that with her? God she had no clue what to do. She just needed time. What came first for her now was Amelia. If Gibbs down the road wanted to be in both their lives, she’d never say no, but she didn’t want to put him in that place.
So here she was, at Jethro’s front door. She decided she also needed to do what was best for Gibbs and felt she figured that was to call it off. She dropped Amelia off at her best friend’s house, and after a long explanation of why she was now a mom and why she had to watch her for a bit, she made it to Gibb’s. She took a deep breath and knocked on his door.
“Hey” he greeted, kissing her softly. She almost broke into tears right there.
“Hi” she whispered
“Come in”
“I- I can’t” she stammered, catching his attention.
“What’s wrong” he asked, cupping her face
“I think we need to take a break”
He stopped in his tracks and looked at her the way he does when he doesn’t want people to know how he feels.
“I’m sorry” she whispered. Placing her hand on his chest.
“If that’s what you want” he sighed. Stepping back and putting his usual walls up. It killed her to do this, but she needed to.
“It’s not what I want Jethro, it’s what’s best for now. Please trust me and know I care about you okay?”
He wanted to fight for her but didn’t know how so he just nodded.
She began to cry. Before he could even react to her tears she was turning away and rushing back to her car.
It had been three days since she left him and Gibbs couldn’t handle knowing they were over. He drove to her house one night around 11:00 after several sleepless hours and days.
“Gibbs what-“ y/N began when she answered the door.
“Why?” He grunted out, stepping into her apartment.
“What?”
“Why do you need space?” He asked gently and reached for her hand.
“J I-“
“Usually I’d just let you go, if you didn’t want this I’d just accept it. I can’t with you though Y/N. I need to know why, need to know if I can fix it.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong J.” She said, eyes tearing up. He stepped closer to her and cupped her cheeks with his hands.
“Why?” He asked again before he suddenly heard the firmiliar sound of a young baby’s cries.
“That’s why.” Y/N said, pulling away “Hang on” she told him before disappearing into her spare room.
A moment later she walked out with an adorable baby girl who couldn’t be much more than 2 or 3 months old. “ Jethro Gibbs, meet Amelia Y/F/N Y/L/N, my niece. Well my daughter now.”
“Hey beautiful” Gibbs cooed, pushing down his questions to scoop the little girl from y/N’s arms. Amelia cooed softly and nuzzled into his chest. Y/N’s heart melted at the sight and she began to cry again. God she wished she hadn’t ended things, wished things were different and she could do this with him.
“Ryan?” Gibbs asked, referring to her brother. They had met once before, and Gibbs had helped her through dealing with him leaving.
She nodded and answered his unasked questions “Killed, either him or her mom was driving, both drunk. I didn’t ask many questions that didn’t have to do with Amelia.”
“Y/N.” He sighed, adjusting Amelia so he could hug Y/N with a free arm.
“J I didn’t want to break things off but I’m not abandoning her and I-“ she began to admit when Gibbs stopped her with a soft kiss to the head.
“You don’t have to choose y/n.” He assured her
“What?” She thought she was hearing things. So much had happened in the past week, she couldn’t let herself get her hopes up.
“It’s not me or her.” He said rocking the sweet girl back and forth making silly faces at her when she started to fuss. “You can have us both.”
“You’re so good with her.” Y/N said, watching the little girl slowly drift back to sleep in the arms of the man she loved.
“She’s sweet” he said “already reminds me of you.”
“Well she’s got my name” y/n laughed.
“And your eyes” he smiled
Y/N smiled back and lead Gibbs to the couch, sitting down on the chair across from him.
“I didn’t want you to think you were stuck with us.” Y/N admitted.
“Ya want me here?” Gibbs said taking her hand and gently pulling her to join him on the sofa.
“Yes” she said nodding she brushed her finger against Amelia’s face and then looked up at Gibbs, doing the same thing to his cheek, “No one I’d rather do this with. I didn’t want you to feel obligated though.”
“I love ya Y/N” Gibbs whispered, wrapping his arm around her.
Her breath caught she couldn’t speak for a moment, so he took the opportunity to kiss her gently.
“I love you too”
“So don’t give me space, let me do this with you.” He said. Pulling her so her head was on his shoulder, both looking at Amelia.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, please.” He said and placed a kiss in her hair.
“Didn’t want you to- I didn’t know if you’d be up to do this again.” She said, moving her head to look at him, while staying laid on his shoulder.
“ I’d do any thing for you” he smiled “and her” he said looking down at the baby.
“She’s pretty great huh?” She smiled.
“Yeah, just met her and already wrapped around her finger.” He laughed and looked at Y/N “she gets that from you.”
“Just wait until I really have time to teach her.” Y/N laughed
“ what do you say, want a partner in this?” Gibbs asked seriously.
“You offering to do late night diaper changes?”
Mhm he nods and kisses her, laughing when amelia wakes up a bit and gurgles at them.
“How should we do this? I mean I moved to teaching online courses next semester” she began, explaining how she’d moved her job as a college professor around “ so her and I can stay here on week nights an-“
“Move in with me.” Gibbs stopped her to ask.
“Jethro you don’t-“
“I want you to, wanted you to anyway, now I do even more.” He admitted “I’m all In.” He said smiling at the little girl who was awake again and looking at them both curiously.
“What do you think Amie, should we live with Poppa?” Y/N cooed and heard Gibbs breath hitch a bit at the name.
Amelia made happy baby noises and y/n giggled, looking up and Gibbs.
“I think that’s a yes.” She said kissing him.
“Poppa?” He asked with a nervous smirk.
“She doesn’t have to call you that, you can be Gibbs if you want I just thought it sounded nice.” Y/N offered and Gibbs loved how much she trusted and loved him. He was afraid she wouldn’t believe he wanted to do this, but suddenly they were a team and he couldn’t have been happierZ
“I love it, just wasn’t sure your plan.” He admitted, gently bobbing his knee to get Amelia to rest again.
“She’ll always know who her biological Mom and Dad were, I’ll never deny her that, but she’ll also know that her momma and Poppa love her more than anything.”she said while gesturing to him and herself.
“She’s a lucky girl” Gibbs smiled and y/n smiled but tears came to her eyes. He knew she loved Amelia, but she also just lost her brother.
“You doing okay, with everything?”
“I’m a lot of things, not sure if okay is one of them.” She said and Gibbs nodded his understanding.
“I’m happy about amelia, angry Ryan didn’t tell me, Devistated that he is gone, furious he made a dumb ass decision that got him and his girlfriend, WHO I NEVER MET, killed and almost killed Amelia! But I’m happy you and her are here. And I feel guilty for being happy, but also I’m so angry.” She said with tears in her eyes as she ran her thumb over her little girl’s tiny hand.
Gibbs kissed her head. “Nothing to be guilty about, you are going to raise and love his little girl, more than most people would do. We’ll get through it together.” He said against her head. She nodded and snuggled into his side more.
“Let’s put this peanut back to bed.” He suggested, starting to get up.
“Wait” y/N stopped him with a hand on his arm.
“Hmm?”
“How bad would it be if we didn’t put her back in her crib yet? I just want to be with both of you.” She asked quietly.
Gibbs smiled and settled back in. “Put a pillow under this arm and I’m a better place to sleep than a crib.” He teased and moved so Y/N could wedge a pillow gently under his arm. She curled into him again, pulled a blanket over her legs and gently held amelias hand again.
“I love you J.” She whispered and turned her head to kiss his chest.
“I love you”, he replies, kissing her head “and you” he whispered, leaning in and kissing amelias head too.
Gibbs x Autistic!daughter!reader - protective
Tumblr media
Could you do promt 3 “I’ve never really been good at emotions you know, but anger I am brilliant at. And if you don’t give me him/her/them back you’ll find out how good.” with Gibbs x autistic!daughter!reader please? Maybe it could be so the reader is a young adult, and she's working for the ncis on her dads team and then on a case the suspect takes gibbs hostage and the reader tries to save him and says the prompt to the suspect - Anon💜
You were going around with Tony, searching the top floor for your suspect while the others covered the ground floor.
“Clear!” You called.
“Same here.”
You and Tony met at the top of the stairs and listened to your coms.
Ziva, McGee also called clear, all that was left was your dad.
“Dad?” You asked.
“Where did gibbs take?” Ziva asked.
“Garage.” McGee replied.
You and Tony shared a look before jogging down the stairs and meeting the others at the door to the garage.
“On my count.” Tony whispered.
You waited and as soon as he finished you were the first to kick the door down, gun aimed and ready as you slowly made your way around.
In the middle of the room was your dad, being held at gunpoint while he was in a headlock.
You felt your blood start to boil and you locked eyes with the suspect, blocking everything else out.
“NCIS, hands up.”
“Not a chance girl.” The man snarled.
Your dad mouthed to you not to do anything stupid.
You gave him a little nod of your head but as you watched him press the gun a little harder to your dads temple.
“I’m not going to ask again, put the gun down and put your hands up now!”
McGee, Ziva and Tony all walk around to get better shots.
They didn’t want to intervene, they knew you had a handle on this so they left you to it.
You lowered your gun slightly, making the suspect think that you had lowered your guard a little bit.
“I’ve never really been good at emotions you know, but anger I am brilliant at. And if you don’t give me him back you’ll find out how good.”
The growl in your voice was enough to startle to suspect just enough to drop his arms a little bit, and the moment he had you raised your gun and shot.
The bullet went straight into his side and you watched him fall to the floor.
Gibbs stood to the side and before you stormed over to the suspect he quickly cause you in his arms, turning you around before he let go.
“No.”
“He deserves it.” You snarled.
“Look at me.”
You looked at your dad and he gave you a soft smile.
“I’m okay. He’s in custody now, everything’s okay.”
You grumbled and put your gun away, making your way outside as you padded over to the car.
Gibbs had never seen you show so much emotion before, it wasn’t something you did. He knew you struggled with it.
As a kid you never told him you loved him, but you never said you didn’t either but after today, he couldn’t help but smile.
He’d never seen you so protective and it made him happy to know that you cared
“You sure about this? It’s not too late to back out.”
You level a look at your dad, “Seriously?”
You gesture to your outfit, and he shrugs, “It’s just a dress.”
You smile, “It’s my wedding dress.”
  “A dress is not a reason to get married.”
You take your dad’s hand, “I know that. But I never would have bought the dress if I wasn’t madly in love with him daddy. And I love him. I love him so much it’s crazy.”
Your dad scowls. It’s been a month since your kidnapping, (your original weekend plan had been met with resistance  from the team) a month since you’d found out you were pregnant, and both Aaron and your father, had been reluctant to let you out of their sight. Even Jack had been attached to your hip, especially since finding out he was going to be a big brother.
No one else knew, but you knew they suspected. You supposed planning a wedding within a month was a pretty big clue, at least for you and Aaron. Dave had been kind enough to offer his home for the wedding, but you had declined. Instead, you’d decided to use your dad’s back yard, where you and Kelly had played as children, and where your mother had planted her garden. A garden your father had always kept up.
He sighs, “If you’re sure.”
You lean up and kiss his cheek, “I love you daddy. Plus think about all the grandkids.”
He snorts at that, “Jack is pretty big help with the boat.”
He offers his arm right as the music starts, and you take it right as the door opens. You smile at the sight that’s waiting for you at the end of the aisle. Aaron and Jack both look amazing in their blue suits, and their smiles are nearly blinding. And as you take those first few steps towards them, you’ve never been more sure of anything in your life.
Stillwater:
“So this is where you grew up PopPop?”
You watch as Jack presses his face up against the window of the car. He’s studying every inch of the town.
“Unfortunately.”
“Dad!”
“What? It’s true. I hated growing up here.”
You roll your eyes and you watch as Aaron smirks. You smooth a hand over your belly. You’d recently popped out a little bit, and people could actually tell that you were pregnant now.
“Is that Grandpa?”
You smile at the sight of your grandfather. You haven’t seen him in years, but he still looks good. He hadn’t been able to make the trip for your wedding, due to recovering from a hip replacement. So instead, you’d arranged to come see him.
Your dad huffs, “That’s the old man.”
Jack smiles, “He and I have the same name, right?”
Aaron’s the one who answers, “That right.”
He’s barely put the car in park when Jack throws the door open and runs to nearly hug your Jackson Gibbs. You watch from the passenger seat as your dad quickly follows him, to make sure he’s safe.
Aaron takes your hand, “It’s nice, isn’t it? Having a big family.”
You smile, “Absolutely.”
And with that you go and hug your grandfather.
The Move:
“I’m just saying there was a very nice house for sale right down the street from us. Our kids could have played together!”
You roll your eyes, and look at Ziva who’s smiling fondly at her husband. “The children can still play together Tony. They’re only a ten minute drive away.” Her hand goes down to smooth over her own protruding belly. She’s five months along and you’re six months and then there’s JJ who’s four months. The three of you have been instructed not to lift anything. And any time one of you tries to do anything there’s some sort of shout. Ziva’s already thrown a knife.
You watch as Jack carries in a box of his toys. You ruffle his hair as he passes and he gives you a grin. Like always you smile when you see the gaps in his smile. He’s recently started losing teeth like crazy. And your father has been playing the tooth fairy which means Jack has been making out like a bandit. When you had mentioned something about spoiling him, your dad had said it was part of his job as a grandpa. You hadn’t had the heart to argue.
You listen as your dad and Aaron bicker while carrying in the crib. It’s something your dad, Aaron, and Jack had made together, and it’s gorgeous in your opinion. And you knew they’d made Tony sit in it to test the sturdiness of it. You also knew they were working on a matching dresser. You’d bought the changing table and rocker.
There’s even more bickering in the kitchen where Uncle Dwayne and Dave are debating on how to set up and organize the kitchen. You exchange looks with the other pregnant women before deciding it would just be best to go hang out on the screened in porch.
The Maid of Honor:
“I’m going to kill Laurel.”
Aaron, Jack, and your dad are staring at you warily. “I love her and she’s my best friend, but who the hell holds a wedding, in New Orleans, in the middle of July! Add in the fact that I’m seven months pregnant, and I’m going to sweat to death.”
Your dad holds out a cold bottle of water, and you take it, and press it against the back of your neck. It feels amazing. You do your absolute best to spend as little time outside as possible, and you thank God that Laurel chose and indoor venue. You nearly cry in relief when you realize she’s turned the air conditioning down as low as it will go.
She laughs at the look of relief on your face and places a hand on your bump, “I can’t have my god-daughter or god-son boiling in there, can I?”
You hug her, and blame the relief tears on the pregnancy hormones.
False Labor:
Two weeks before your due date, Aaron stops traveling with the team. He absolutely refuses to miss the birth of his second child. He’d been there when Jack was born, and he was determined to be there when this one was born. ‘Your false labor starts two days before your due date. You’re certain it’s the real thing and you end up sounding the alarm. Your dad comes over to stay with Jack while Aaron takes you to the hospital.
It happens two more times, and always in the middle of the night. Eventually, your dad brings his pack, and his pillow and collapses on your couch. When you give him a questioning look he simply shrugs and says, “I’m sick of the back and forth.”
You just roll your eyes and go to get something to eat.
The Real Labor:
Your real labor happens in the middle of the day, a week after your due date. You’re home alone, officially on Maternity leave; Jack is at school and your dad and Aaron are at work. You don’t send out a text until your water breaks. You want to make sure it’s real this time. Both your dad and Aaron arrive at the house with sirens blaring. You sigh. The drama kings.
You say nothing as you toss your bag into the car, and slide in right as another contraction hits. You close your eyes and reach out to grip someone’s hand. When it’s done you look to see who it is; it’s McGee, and there are tears in his eyes. You wince and apologize.
Your dad rolls his eyes, closes the car door and simply says, “He’ll be fine.” Before telling Aaron to drive.
The Baby has Arrived:
You stare at your husband. While normally you find Aaron the most handsome man in the room, seeing him with your newborn baby in his arms, makes him the sexiest man you’ve ever seen. You adjust against your pillows, “Are you sure about the name?”
He nods, his eyes never leaving your daughter. Jack had gotten his wish for a sister, “I’m sure. It might actually make him like me.” He coos down at your daughter, “Your PopPop is a stubborn old mule. But he’ll love you.” As though Aaron, himself, isn’t stubborn. You roll your eyes.
There’s a knock on the door, as Jack’s head peeks in followed by your dad’s. You smile and wave them in. Jack runs to you. That surprises you, you figured he’d go to Aaron and the baby first. Your dad lifts him onto your bed, and he very gently hugs you. “Hi Marmee!”
“Hello my sweet boy.”
You comb your fingers through his hair, and kiss his forehead. He bounces a bit, “Do I have a brother or a sister?”
You look over at Aaron, who’s staring at the two of you with a smile. You nod, and he walks towards you, lowering the baby for Jack to see. He reaches out an strokes her cheek, “She looks like Marmee!”
You laugh, and look up at your dad who’s standing by the door, “Want to see?”
He smiles and wanders over. Aaron slides your daughter into your father’s arms. As always, he’s a natural. He’d always had a way with babies, kids, and animals. The only place he was lacking was with adults.
You watch as he bounces her her slightly, and you can tell, just like when he looked at Jack for the first time, he’s in love. You have a feeling the man is living for his PopPop title. He looks at you, and asks, “What’s her name?”
“Daisy Shannon Hotchner.”
He smiles, “It’s beautiful. Thank you for including your mom.”
You nod, “It includes Kelly too. Daisys were her favorite flower. I think she named every stuffed animal and babydoll Daisy. I thought it was a good way to include them both.”
Your dad clears his throat, “I think . . .it’s an excellent idea.”
“Can I hold her?” Jack’s little voice is enough to break you out of your thoughts, and your dad moves to sit on the edge of the bed. You watch as he and Aaron help Jack hold Daisy, and you can’t help the amount of love that fills your heart at the sight. Your little family is perfect.
Mom and Kelly:
It’s a pretty day. The sun is shining, and the only clouds in the sky are white and fluffy. It’s been years since you’ve visited. When you were a child, your dad would bring you two to three times a year. You readjust Daisy in your arms, as you stare down at the headstones. Your mother and sister’s names stare back at you.
You glance at your dad. There’s a blank look on his face for just minute before he bends down and replaces the flowers. He dusts leaves and blades of grass off the headstones.
You’re silent for a moment before you start, “Hey mama. Hey Kelly. Sorry it’s been so long, but things have been busy. I got married, his name is Aaron. And he’s amazing. And through him I got a beautiful son named Jack. And he knows about you guys. He likes to hear stories about you. And recently I gave birth, which wasn’t fun, but the end result is pretty damn. Her name is Daisy Shannon. Dad and I are doing well. He comes over for dinner most nights now, and he likes to steal Jack away to work on the boat. And when we go to the park, he insists on carrying Daisy. He even wears the Boba baby wrap.”
“Don’t tell them that! Your sister will laugh at me.”
You smile, and ignore him, “We miss you guys, and we love you.”
Your dad’s arms wraps around your shoulders and he places a kiss on the side of your head before stealing Daisy away.
You roll your eyes, stay a few more minutes while your dad tells them all about Jack and Daisy, before the two of you head out. You meet Jack and Aaron in the middle.
Jack immediately rushes to your dad, who scoops him up and onto his hip with his free arm. You go to Aaron, who takes your hand, “How were your mom and sister?”
“They’re good. We told them all about you and Jack.”
“We’ll have to go with you next time.”
You shrug, and look off in the direction they had come from, where Haley had been buried. The cemetery is peaceful, and as you walk through it, and back towards the car, you can’t help but think this is the most alive and happy you’ve seen your dad in years. It’s nice.
You get everyone in the car, your  dad sit in the back in between the carseats, talking with jack while allowing Daisy to play with his finger, when he gets the call.He barely says two words before hanging up and saying, “I have to go to work. Can you drop me off?”
Aaron nods, “Sure thing.”
“And could I get a quick consult?”
You laugh, “We can manage that.”
And as Aaron pulls away from the curb, your little family heads Back to the Navy Yard.
