I'm not sure if you are still doing the "vs" meme, but I had a thought about your comments on Sam as constantly editing his relationship with Dean, Lucifer, himself, etc. So, Chuck's scenes with Sam where you got this real sense of him being Sam's author, vs Sam's scenes with himself in hallucinations where he's resigned about their character, if that makes sense? Or just any thoughts that Sam is like that character that get away from you and that's why the story isn't working lol.

Hmm. This is a little bit difficult for me to parse, and I think some of it is because, even in universe, it’s hard for me to see Chuck as Sam’s author. Or Dean’s, or even someone like Michael’s.

For a being with Chuck’s power, it’s hard to differentiate creation and characterization, I guess. But, like, Chuck really doesn’t seem to force any of it. The only things that we ever watch him author are situations, not people. Not even when he gets frustrated, not even when he really wants to, in s15, does he actually use his power to change anyone’s mind or character. One idle thought, and he could bend Sam and Dean to do whatever he wanted. But he doesn’t. 

S15 is extremely clumsy about this distinction, which is one of its many issues. I have some messy and half-formulated thoughts about SPN’s God and Gnosticism, and about Chuck as a manifestation of the demiurge—the material Creator, who is ignorant, or malevolent, or misguided. He created the universe and mankind, but he is fundamentally separated from the non-material or the spiritual, which is a resounding flaw that creates or perpetuates evil. This is much, much closer to what Chuck actually is than the Gnostic or Christian Gods (unknowable/omnipotent/benevolent) or most other monotheistic Gods.

So I view Chuck along those lines—he is the demiurge, a being fundamentally disconnected from and even envious of the spirit of those he creates, even as he can change the material world that he created however he pleases. Lucifer defied him, and he liked that, and he authored situations around it. Sam defied him in s5, and he liked that, and authored situations around it. Until by s14 he didn’t like it anymore.

Now, in a more general sense, Sam as a “a character that got away” is really thematically pleasing to me, because it’s always Sam who is dissatisfied or pressed against the walls of the status quo. He struggles against the genre he’s placed in: he doesn’t want to be in a action show fighting the good fight, he doesn’t want to be the guy that saves the world, he doesn’t want to be the hero that Says No To Drugs. Whatever the surface-level thematic flavor of the season is, Sam is usually at odds with it, whether it’s “resisting temptation” in s4 or “being loyal” in s8.

He fails narratively, over and over—but in the end he wins the war. What Sam wants is a relationship with his brother, and safety, and survival, and some peace and quiet to carve out his life, and he gets all of that.

And all this happens in spite of and because of all of these times that Sam has edited himself to survive, whether with Lucifer or with Dean.

The gullible will believe anything seen on social media as true and would not make any effort to verify the authenticity of such information.

A video purportedly showing the King of Bahrain arriving at an event in Dubai with his robot bodyguard has been making rounds on social media.

A post on Twitter captioned it, -‘King of Bahrain arrives in Dubai with his robot bodyguard fitted 360 with cameras and inbuilt pistols. Technology moves very fast than ever in history. Now politicians might order this too.”

  Reading some of the reactions from Twitter users, it is clear that many believed it as what it claimed- the wealthy King of Bahrain arrived in Dubai with a robot bodyguard. Talk about might!. To show off his enormous wealth. After all folks in that region often have exotic animals as pets… So having a robot bodyguard puts him on a different level.

Well people, as much as we want it to be true and believe that humans will soon be replaced by a robot bodyguard that speaks 6 languages and equipped with arms that are enough to destroy all attacks, this is another example of misleading information that social media organizations have been battling to curtail.

The dude seen the video is not the King of Bahrain and the robot isn’t a bodyguard. The robot is a renowned robot named ‘Titan.

Titan is the world’s first commercial entertainment robot artist, which was developed by British company Cyberstein.

According to a Gulf News report published on February 18, 2019, the eight feet tall, 60 kg robot was a greeter at Abu Dhabi’s International Defence Exhibition,  IDEX in 2019.

A longer version of the video on YouTube dated February 2019, provided more information about the so-called King of Bahrain robot bodyguard.

Firstly, El Shaddoll Construct is back 1! As well as some Nekroz cards. But some of the biggest bans have to be cards like Galaxy Tomahawk, Gumblar, and Soul Charge. Konami hit a lot of token cards as well. But personally, I'm a fan of unbanning Construct. Not because Shaddolls are super meta, or because they're my favorite deck. I just love the lore. Don't get me wrong, Shaddolls are still powerful. But I don't play for power, I play casually. The banlist hit some odd ones, but I like this banlist. The only cards that worry me are Cyberstein back to 1, Limiter Removal unlimited, and a few others, but my concern lies in the FTK range. All machine decks can blast off to absurd ATK, Cyberstein had-I think-an FTK unless it was an OTK. But like I said, overall, I'm satisfied with this list.

That Yu Gi Oh post - do you actually play it, or was that bluffing?

Sort of. I mean, I only have an emulator of Duel Academy on PC and mobile, but I do have all of the 1200 cards on PC…

This particular deck I came up with playing the AI - the Zane guy showed me Cyberstein, I figured out how to use that card properly as most people use Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and not Cyber Twin Dragon/Cyber End Dragon, then worked out how to max out CED or CTD to kick out something like 16k+ attack using equipments.

Ideally, your starting hand is Cyberstein, then your various equipments. Megamorph and Limiter Removal are essential, United We Stand and Magepower are also very useful. Between these, simply vast levels of damage can be done - CTD has the highest potential damage, but, it is very difficult to use that damage because you can’t take the opponent out on the first strike, as if you do, you are better off with the higher attack of CED. BEUD is actually rather weak as you can’t double its attack with Limiter Removal.

The only drawback is you kind of are pretty sure to lose if you don’t get a good hand, even after 3x Reload and Card Destruction… So, when it works it’s great, you get like a minimum of 2.5k Duel Points and the AI has basically no counter, so it funds tracking down every single card quite nicely. PvP it can be beaten, you just get the user down to sub-5k. (1k5k for more recent rulesets)

I was wondering if you ever heard of a fic that was an AU. More modern retelling? I think the labyrinth took place in the city sewer system? The dark twist was Sarah finding that winning meant she'd be the new ruler and at this news she curled into a little ball with her hands around her knees, and Hoggle thought that was the crulest thing to condemn her to? It had to have been written five or more years ago. I think it might have been on ffnet but after a week i still cant find anything :(
