TIME TO WRITE? . . . nighttime. sitting in pitch black with only my monitor on, when there's almost complete silence, close to the witching hour if possible. bonus points if there's a storm outside. otherwise, it depends on my schedule, i could also write in the mornings / afternoons if i'm available.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES? . . . i tend to write long replies. the most i counted was roughly 900 words. it happens every so often when i get possessed by wednesday herself. i only start with something short like one liner if i want to write as many starters possible, though.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)? . . . for wednesday i think we're both into creepy, mysterious and spooky stuff, including paranormal and murder cases. i enjoy writing just like her and our sense of humor can be dark / morbid. i was and still am somewhat of an outcast, but unlike weds, i don't do it on purpose. i'm also very fond of moments of silence, hence why i mostly write at nighttime. there are also these lyrics that came to my mind from the addams family animated movies you don't wanna mess with me, cause if you mess with me you're messing with my family, which is lowkey relatable. i'm friendly and will take a load of crap before i snap. but if you threaten me or someone i care about, i'm suddenly the best private investigator, best lawyer and would fight someone one foot taller than me. it also helps that my family is the same for the most part. wednesday also grew up with a graveyard behind her house and my aunt and uncle do live in front of a cemetery, and i visit them whenever i can so there's that. i don't have spider pets but i don't kill them if i find them around the house, on the contrary, i give them names (they're always peter, pete, p.t. or smth among those lines) and tell them to catch flies and feast on them. my granny from dad's side was also dabbling with magic which was passed down to yours truly! that's all folks, there's probably more but i'm ending this here.

Announcement for the #a scandal in tumblr

After I reacted to Jamesyourplaything/criminalisticonsultant/myeyesblurry’s “statement” that included texts of our private texts (which I countered by showing our actual convo below- privated now) the other mods and I decided that this is going to be it.

This is far too crazy and stressful for a mere RP, for something that’s supposed to be for “fun”. Here I (John) wanted to escape the stress and focus on my pregnancy, yet the past few weeks have been nothing but stressful and unhealthy. Not only for me, but also for Harry, Mycroft and our new Sherlock - who’ve been nothing but a true support. For my and my friends’ health and spirit, I will take a break from this ridiculousness and finally start listening to my own advice: ignore the cyberbullies and focus on the positive.

Our fandom deserves the very best.

Ngl I think I'll use this ask as an opportunity to give everyone Kirm lore™���. The SU bulletpoint WILL be here but;

Semi-cognitive 'Kirm Bullies People :(' saga;

tldr: Back in mid-late 2018, freshly 18 me took notice of this particular person who was vagueblogging my friends in the RPC (roleplay community, think of it like a collaborative fanfic community if you're unaware) on the basis that my friends didn't want to interact with this person. After I decided to do some digging I decided to confront this person (who was well over 10 years my age) and told them to stop. And I left it at that.

Later I found out that were posting our private dms in their personal server and many of my friends told me other things about this person and how they were scared to speak up, so I naturally did some digging and found out this person was. Blatantly homophobic. Like, 'I respect gays but don't condone their lifestyle' homophobia. So, I called them out. Things snowballed and I was sort of thrust into the position of 'make callouts on weirdos.

Things that happened to me in 2018-2021 (broadly). Please note that every callout I have vocally supported / assisted in creating had plenty of evidence to prove the wrongdoings of folks;

I was told I'd go to jail and look 'good in orange' for calling out this guilttripping homophobe by somebody who was pregnant at the time. Yes, she took time out of her day to cry about somebody cyberbullying her homophobic friend instead of spending time with her partner.

Another homophobe (who was later revealed to be anti B/_M and pro-trum///p, fun) going up to bat and constantly trying to smear me while victimizing herself for years

Somebody I told off for forcing nsfw content on people because they forced their 30+ female mario character rp blogs that oversexualized them onto people at random decided to stalk me for multiple months and tried to rally a hate forum to harass me by using a family vacation photo I posted.

Was called the R slur for putting an ableist transphobe on blast

I was called 'elitist' and 'fac1st' by another pro-trum///p jackass because I called them weird for being very passive aggressive towards people not wanting to interact with them

Pr0-cop weirdo & friends got very very mad at me for taking a screenshot of a public blog and tried to frame me as a 'rich white woman who'd never be profiled by c0ps', tried to threaten multiple people in the rpc, including poc, of reporting their 'IPs to the p0lice for cyberstalking'

Basically being called a stalker, harasser, bully, etc for just taking screenshots and informing people of what URLs to block

Somebody who likes hp a lot and victimizes themselves over liking it apparently talking shit about me to this day because I rightfully grilled them for supporting an abuser a few years back

Broadly speaking, the SU rpc hates me because I assisted in boosting callouts against their 'golden gooses'. You know, the people who fetishmined and guilt-tripped as if they were being paid for it. Also a lot of oc drama and a golden goose accusing somebody of oc theft because they made an oc of the same rock they used, fun. I was accused of writing a callout I didn't even write because one of these golden geese recognized me in a rpc and screamed, despite the fact if you read that callout you would've known I didn't write it because the author identified themselves.

Also if anybody 'recognizes' themselves from this post, didn't you accuse me of being a stalker for looking at your blog and gathering evidence for like, a week at post. Why are you still here. Or, if you're a friend of any of these people in 2023 for some reason, fuck off, you're only giving your friend more stress by being their messenger. You're a shitty friend. Lol. There's this guy who got permabanned from this online game/web forum I play called NationStates almost 11 years ago and I genuinely feel bad for the guy.

To try and explain what happened with this guy and why I feel bad for him, here's four simple things you need to know about NationStates:

You are allowed to have multiple accounts on this game

One punishment that can be meted out for rulebreaking is DEAT, which means that the nation that you broke the rule with is deleted (it may or may not accompany a temporary ban)

The ultimate punishment is DOS (delete-on-sight), which is a permaban. You try and sneak back on after you've been made DOS? You don't even get a warning, if the mods find out that it's you - your account is deleted. Find somewhere else to play.

The mods generally don't police roleplay or roleplay quality (so long as it's not rulebreaking or deliberately spammy low-quality RP)

The guy I'm talking about (I'm not going to say his nation name[s] because it's crazy easy to actually find some of his online profiles with his real name by searching his NS name) first joined NS in 2004, so several years before I joined (I joined in September 2008, for the record) and became known for the poor quality of his roleplaying. Now, poor quality RPing isn't anything unusual on NS but this guy completely refused to improve or learn and would constantly get into arguments with other players.

This eventually lead to the mods making a very unique decision regarding this player, especially after his original account was DEATed in 2007.

You see, it's pretty common for players who have their nation DEATed to just make a new account and treat it as the same as their previous nation. Which is fair enough, why start over with your lore and stuff that you've been working on.

But with this guy, on account of all the rulebreaking, flaming, and arguments that would happen with his RPs, the mods made the decision: his original nation did not exist. It was a straight up mod-ordered retcon. He could not mention his original nation, RP as his original nation, or do anything with it. It did not, does not, and will not exist in the NationStates multiverse. (This was also done to try and give him a fair shot at starting over as, by this point, he was known as one of the worst RPers on the site - but if you prohibit him from mentioning or doing anything with his infamous original nations, accusations of him being that original account are just speculation and not 'Yeah he's admitted to being him.'

Anyways, after a few more years of his continued poor RPing, trolling, and other rulebreaking (including apparently him once threatening a lawsuit against the site), in early 2012 the mods finally had enough of him and made him DOS and permabanned him from the site.

Now, why would I feel bad for someone like this? I'll tell you why: because this dude is completely and utterly convinced that the reason for his banning wasn't because of his 8 years of poor RPing, rulebreaking, and just being a general nuisance.

No, he thinks that the mods banned him because he's autistic and that they run a cyberbullying clique dedicated both to harassing him into silence whenever he tries to inform people of the 'truth' about NationStates and to banning any and all players with autism and mental disabilities from the site.

If you think I'm joking, I'm genuinely not. I'm obviously not going to link to any of this shit, but I once found his DeviantArt page and he had stuff on it like saying if you buy the book Jennifer Government (the book NationStates is meant to promote) then you're supporting Nazism, terrorism, and cyberbullying, posted a screenshot of a post on the NS forums which he said was 'proof' of the cyberbullying conspiracy against him (it was literally a post by a moderator after he had snuck back on the site and spammed the boards just saying this was a 'former user with mental health issues' or something like that), etc. He's even made online petitions to try and shut down the site for being a den of cyberbullies and he and his family once found the personal Facebook page of one of the NS mods and started harassing them.

Hell, I've interacted with this guy once before. To be clear here: I did not initiate the contact or harass him or anything like that. But he made a post on the unofficial NationStates subreddit a couple years ago (I believe it was October 2021, don't quote me on that) that was basically him talking about how people should stop using the site because it's full of cyberbullies who have been harassing him for years and I just made a simple reply explaining who this guy was, why he was actually banned, and how he's been at this for then-nearly 10 years. The worst I said was 'You're still at this shit?'

Naturally, he just accused me (and another user who also is familiar with him) of being part of the NS cyberbullying clique and asked how many rubles they were paying me in Google Translated Russian.

But really, regardless of everything else, I genuinely do feel bad for him. This guy is in his mid-30s and continues to think that he was banned from NationStates for being autistic and that the NS mods try and harass him in order to silence him. When in reality - almost no one cares about him. Long-time moderators and players around from when he was active will obviously remember him and know of him, but everyone else? He is at best just used as an example when people talk about 'infamous NSers' (and he's far from unique in that regard). That's it.

In a way, perhaps that's best. I can imagine an alternate universe where there actually was a cyberbullying and trolling campaign against him that led to him becoming an 'lolcow', but that didn't happen. And I'd rather someone just imagine that they've been harassed and cyberbullied for years rather than them having actually been harassed and cyberbullied for years (of course, them not imagining this at all would be the best option, but of the two I mean)

I thought my dash had been spared from the recent drama in the B.nHA rpc, but I was wrong. Either I hadn’t been paying attention to it, or I was willfully ignorant. Regardless, I will be hard blocking anyone who is involved or exacerbating the problem.

I do not agree with the content that started the drama, but I am of the opinion that no one’s writing on their RP blog has any effect on my life unless I let it. If something makes me uncomfortable, I block and move on.

This extends to the cyberbullying and harassment that I’m seeing. I cannot stand this behavior and will not have it on my dash. Harassing someone for what they write is not going to help the problem or stop them from writing it. I genuinely do not understand why this has started or why it continues, but I will be hardblocking anyone involved because it’s toxic behavior and no good will come of it.

May everyone find peace in their online sanctuary.

I'm finding it ironic that Club is celebrating the planned Online Safety Bill adding a clause against cyberbullying, not realising that the clause only applies to those with an UK IP, and if they extend the Bill to cover adult material, is approved and Club does his RP with a minor from the UK, he'll find himself in hot water with not just the UK authorities, but the US authorities as well.

Love Between Fairy and Devil is sooo fun to watch. Dylan Wang and Esther Yu are my favorite couple in a historical drama this year. They rocked! I also love how iQiyi promoted this drama, no sugar coating and no real person shipping, they only stick to the drama characters in their promo. Unlike WeTV (outside the mainland), we felt they already making RPS to WL and ZLS which is disgusting because not all fans are shipping them in real life. There's one FB post where official WeTV blatantly pronounced they're shipping them. But iQiyi never did it to EY and DW and yet the series is one of the most watched in their platform.

Love Between Fairy and Devil has been an unexpected standout drama this year! I didn't really love either of the leads beforehand, and I also don't love the xianxia genre, but I decided to give it a try because it felt like absolutely everyone was talking about it. And now I'm obsessed.

This drama has been so successful at drawing in excitement and discussion from viewers who aren't involved with fandoms, and even viewers who don't really like idol historicals. People get pulled in by the fun drama that tells a touching story. There's no need for rps, and the viewers don't necessarily care for it. When other parties tried to slow down Love Between Fairy and Devil's popularity by circulating dating rumours and negative rumours, I was genuinely surprised to see how little the viewers cared. People overwhelming expressed that they love Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lanhua together, and what the actors do in their own time is their own business. Although the leads have definitely done a bit of fanservice, the viewers are normal people who don't care about fandom fights and simply want to talk about a good drama.

This is a huge contrast to the type of fans that LLTG has attracted. There are actual consequences to Tencent buying all those rps weibo trends. Drama fans were turning against WL and demanding that he personally respond to dating rumours. Now they've been showing up to stalk him where he's filming his upcoming drama, and cyberbullying his new costar. They're also sending death threats to fans of other dramas. It was bad enough when Tencent did rps marketing with YAMG, but this is much worse. It's taking fandom culture way too far. I've genuinely never seen a drama that has attracted a worse fandom than LLTG.
