Timeline
You might be wondering how often you need to inspect your car's system. We recommend following a timespan of about three to five years. At three years old, your battery will start to wear down, so it is a good idea to drive in then for a system test. By the five year mark, it might be smart to bring it again to see if it needs replacement. Keep in mind, this timeline can alter a little based on a few factors, such as the climate you drive in, your specific driving style, and even the model of your vehicle. For specific details on your car, make sure to read your owner’s manual. Or, utilize our handy Ask An Advisor tool under the Service tab of our website to ask a question directly to one of our service experts.
Warning Signs
Apart from the general timeline, there are also a few warning signs that could pop up that are indicative of an issue with your battery. First and foremost, if your car seizes up on the roadway and you find yourself needing a jump start from another vehicle to get it going again, that is a surefire sign that your system has worn down and possibly needs a replacement. Other, subtler signs include if your car takes longer than usual to turn on, or if you hear a clicking noise while attempting to start it up. Another thing to note is that your battery is connected to all of your vehicle’s electronics. Therefore, if you start noticing your display screens, headlights, or other technology start to malfunction, then it might be a good idea to visit our service bay for a quick checkup.
Test and Replacement
If you do visit our Service Department, you have two options. You can either schedule an appointment with us by visiting the Service tab of our website, or you can simply drive up unannounced! Either way, our expert technicians will get to work right away running an electrical system test on your battery to check its levels. If they determine that it needs replacing, not to worry we have an in-house Parts Department that can dive into their stocked inventory and find the perfect replacement for you in no time.  TIPS
Battery Change Service near Wichita KS:
It’s safe to say, winter weather is here to stay. We have noticed that as the temperature drops, the amount of dead batteries increases. Other than parking in an insulated garage, there isn’t a lot you can do to protect your battery from the bitter cold winter temperatures. The best way to help prevent your battery from unexpectedly dying is to make sure it’s always in good shape.
Here are 7 tips to maintain your vehicle’s battery:
1) Clean your battery by removing the clamps and wipe away the grease, dirt and oxidation. A dirty battery connection will weaken the charge.
2) Keep the battery tray clean; dirt and build up on the casing of the battery can drain its power.
3) Be sure the battery is secure and sitting correctly. A loose battery can spill battery acid over your engine or vibrate and cause loose wiring and a disconnect.
4) Coordinate your errands and trips; each time you start your car, it uses your battery’s power
5) Check the car battery water level indicator on a regular basis and fill with distilled water as needed
6) Invest in a car battery charger that will maintain the ideal charge level when your car is not going to be used for an extended amount of time.
7) Install an insulation blanket. The plastic sheet keeps the battery warm, which can be especially helpful in the cold winter months.
Don’t get stuck in the cold during the winter months; maintain your vehicle’s battery to maximize its longevity!
 COST
How much does it cost to get a battery replaced?
Battery Change Service near Wichita KS: Depending on power, size, and quality, prices for a replacement car battery range from about $45 to $250. Your local dealership, auto parts store or automotive service center can check your current battery or hook you up with a new car battery
How much should a battery replacement cost?
Depending on power, size, and quality, prices for a replacement car battery range from about $45 to $250.
How Much Does a Car Battery Change Cost?
Some factors impacting car battery price are the type of battery purchased and the make and model of the car. You should expect to pay between $100 and $150 for a standard car battery, and between $175 and $450 for a premium battery. Premium batteries are often designed to perform better in cold climates, and these batteries will usually have a more extended warranty.
Factors Impacting the Cost of a Replace Car Battery
Battery Change Service near Wichita KS:
Type of Vehicle
If you have a luxury vehicle, you should expect to pay more for your car battery replacement price, especially if the car is newer. In most cases, you should expect to pay $150 to $350, though this amount may or may not include installation fees.
Size of Vehicle
A bigger engine usually needs a bigger battery. For instance, the battery for a compact car will generally be less expensive than the battery for a large truck or a vehicle with a larger engine.
The size of your battery directly correlates to the amp-hour rating, which means a larger battery usually supplies the vehicle with more amps of electrical current each hour. For a bigger battery, you’ll have to pay for the larger amount of material used in the manufacturing process, which increases your price.
The most common sizes for batteries are 24, 75 and 65. In most cases, the costs of these three sizes are $40 to $90, though this varies by the type of warranty and by the battery’s brand.
Battery Age
Most batteries will last about 3 to 4 years. If you’ve had your battery that long, chances are it’s time to replace it. In many cases, the battery for an older car will cost less than a battery for a newer car.
Emergency
Some people carry emergency cables in their cars. These cables are used as a starter kit in case the battery fails, and the car’s battery needs a boost. Most emergency kits will range from $30 to several hundred dollars.
Amount of Volts
An expensive luxury car typically requires a particular battery. Racing cars often need high-performance batteries. A big diesel engine or a V8 in a truck requires more current to start the engine, and thus it also requires a more expensive battery. Therefore, if you drive a luxury car, a car that requires a lot of voltage or a large truck, your new car battery cost will be more expensive.
Car Battery Costs by Car Manufacturer
Battery Change Service near Wichita KS: Some manufacturers use the best materials and therefore create high-quality batteries. These batteries last longer and produce a greater, stable current. These are among the most expensive batteries, and they can cost between $225 and $450.
However, most drivers choose less-expensive batteries. The most commonly used brands are about $100 to $150.
Car Manufacturer             Average Battery Cost
Toyota                                   $110 – $350
Hyundai                                $130 – $400
Ford                                       $110 – $480
Nissan                                    $130 – $350
Subaru                                  $110 – $350
Honda                                   $110 – $350
BMW                                     $170 – $550
Mercedes                             $170 – $480
Warning Signs That You Need to Change Your Car Battery
In most cases, you should replace the car’s battery every 3 – 4 years. One typical warning sign that you should replace your battery soon is that the engine is slow to start. Your vehicle might also have a battery indicator light that flashes or appears to let you know the battery needs attention.
You can look for signs of corrosion around your car battery. This corrosion is a sticky blue or white substance that clings to the battery terminals. You could have the corrosion removed by a mechanic, or you could do it yourself in an attempt to extend the life of the battery. Corrosion remover fluid is sold at most auto shops, but be sure to read the instructions before attempting to clean a battery yourself. Keep in mind that the appearance of corrosive material could mean that your battery’s life has already been compromised.
 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does a car battery replacement cost?
The average car battery replacement cost will vary depending on the car, the model and how old the battery is. You can expect to pay between $130 to $500 to have your car battery replaced.
What are car batteries and how do they work?
A car battery is an energy storage device that relies on a chemical reaction within the battery to produce electricity. The stored electrical energy is used to initially operate the starter motor, ignition system, and fuel system on your vehicle. Once your car engine is running, the alternator supplies the electricity needed for all vehicle systems and charges the battery to replace the electric energy used when starting a car.
Most electric vehicles have a traction battery which is in addition to the standard 12 volt battery that is used to start the car engine. Traction batteries also convert chemical energy to supply electrical energy but operate at higher voltages and often are monitored by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module).
When to replace a car battery?
Your car doesn’t start. A new battery has a specified capacity to provide power. This capacity is referred to as the cranking amps rating of the battery. As a battery ages, the actual amps that a battery can supply becomes lower than its original rating Once the cranking amps fall below a critical threshold, it will be difficult or impossible to start your car.
Battery or charging system warning light is illuminated. Should a battery or charging system warning light illuminate, a mechanic should perform a few basic tests to determine if a battery replacement is needed.
Electrical components don’t work. Once a battery has started to fail, and the voltage produced by the battery drops, then vehicle electrical components can malfunction, such as the security system. If you are experiencing electrical malfunctions, it’s a smart idea to have the battery tested.
How do mechanics replace the battery?
A temporary power source might be installed to avoid the possibility of losing radio presets or stored data in the PCM while the battery is out. When the battery is already completely dead, this step is unnecessary.
The vehicle’s negative cable is removed from the battery, followed by the positive cable. The battery tie down system is loosened and the old battery removed.
Cable ends and wiring are carefully inspected to ensure cleanliness and no corrosion. In some cases, corrosion can be extreme and the cable may need to be replaced or wiring repaired.
The new battery is installed and the tie down system is reinstalled. Anti-corrosion compound is applied to the battery terminals. The positive terminal is reconnected followed by the negative terminal.
Some vehicles, for example some models of BMW, VW, and Audi, may require PCM programming to input battery parameters. This step, performed using a specialized scan tool, is necessary to maximize battery life and prevent electrical system malfunctions.
The car is started and charging system output is measured and compared against the factory OEM specification to ensure that the new battery will properly recharge. Generally, charging output will be in the range of 13.8 to 14.8 volts but the exact specifications vary by make and model.
Is it safe to drive with a battery problem?
Yes, but if you have a weak battery you might be left stranded somewhere if the battery dies completely and you cannot start your car. A faulty battery may also needlessly overload the alternator and could adversely affect the operation of the vehicle’s electrical system, including the vehicle security system and the shift interlock.
When replacing the battery keep in mind:
The quality of the electrical connections to the battery posts is important. Connections must be clean, free of corrosion and properly tightened.
Batteries store a large amount of energy and if short-circuited a battery could explode and can create intense discharges that can damage your eyesight. Insulated tools should be used to attach cabling to battery terminals. Otherwise, the battery’s positive cable can be shorted to ground or the positive and negative posts can be directly shorted. Batteries can only be safely installed from a positive terminal to positive wiring and from a negative terminal to body ground. If the polarity is reversed damage will likely occur to the vehicle’s electrical system.
Generally, a car battery will have a service life of 4 to 7 years. If a load test on a battery reveals a significant reduction in the capacity of the battery to provide power, you should buy a new battery rather than wait for the old battery to fail completely.
Batteries should only be disconnected if the engine is off and the alternator is not running. Disconnecting a car battery while the alternator is running can cause a voltage spike that will damage sensitive electronic components in the vehicle,.

I've had a horrible life, I'm working towards a better one but Im afraid of my past coming back
Along with ocd I also deal with ADHD/autism, BPD and PTSD. I'm not completely happy with these diagnosis as I feel like a lot of symptoms overlap and I probably shouldn't be assigned that many but that's not the concern if this post. I just want to give you an idea of where I'm at.
I have a lot of trauma. From a very young age as a child, up to a few years ago ( I'm 29 now, also female if that matters)
Because I have a lot of behavioural problems and because I grew up in a very horrible toxic environment I used to be a POS. Mostly gossip, being critical and rude, starting fights, racist and sexist, just a miserable f**king person, all based on ideals I grew up. I was bullied horribly and reacted to it and push and egged people on.
Near the end of high school one girl that was bullying me got worse and worse (knowing she wouldnt see me anymore) and that coupled with.other stress in my life caused me to absolutely lose it. I couldn't take it anymore and at one point called her an Asian slur (she was Asian obv) to get her to stop. It worked bit I felt horrible. It wasn't intended, it flew out of my mouth as a defence and it was an instant regret. I apologized and we had multiple talks about it over the following week. She accepted my apology and understood and apologized for the bullying. She allowed me to apologize to her family as well who also forgave me.
--however-- almost all the kids at my school who already didn't like me for m aforementioned behaviour now despised me. They had even more reason to take out their anger on me and this time teachers joined in as well. I understand I deserve that not defending it. A few days later a popular girl said the n word tova student and no one cares. No one treated her the same. The Asian girl was pissed that no one treated her as they tested me. So me, the Asian girl and the black girl hung out until school ended and then went our ways.
At one point I found out a fellow student was a nazi(I saw him showing off his new nazi tattoos at a party) and started telling people. People knew and didn't care. They told me to stop spreading it but I didn't and he has popped up to harrass me multiple times. Nothing serious just showing up at my work and school and doing the salute and yelling stuff in german. He spreads lies about me and of course told people about the slur I said.
We graduated, I went to university and unfortunately a lot of kids I went to HS went also attended the same school. They spread it to everyone and I was ostracized again. It spread out into the community and it seemed everywhere I went people knew and hated me.
I was in an abusive relationship at the same time which became known and people told me I deserved it. My ex who was narcissistic and honestly a psychopath who took pleasure in my pain and humiliation added to it. He told ppl I abused him, he released my nudes, he spread lies about me, cheated on me and I had girls coming up to me bragging about it. I had no family no friends no support I only had him and I couldnt leave I was too traumatized.
At some point during this time in uni/relationship I ended up in the hospital. A nurse I had knew and threatened to tell the team. I told her it was in high school and had no relevance here and I wasn't that person. She waited until an Asian doctor was attending me and came into the room and announced it as if I said it at the hospital. I admitted to saying it in high school and explained the same. They didn't care and flagged my file for racism. The remaining week I spent in the hospital was being treated like shot by nurses. They would prick me or insult me or lie about me and say I said things to them when I didn't. One nurse even told me she slept with my boyfriend, I told her to get tested and she cried. Then reported that i spit on her and told her to get tested. All of this was added to my file and all lies. I started recording them visiting my room as protection. Eventually I was accused of something and I replayed the visit as proof. They were shocked and reported the nurse and some big shot in the hospital came to talk to me about deleting it. I told him I wanted my file flags cleared because it was obviously all lies. They refused. At this point I was so broken down with year of abuse I just shut off and stopped fighting.
This followed me for year and years. I was denied care from Walk in clinics because of this flag and I haven't seen a doctor in over 5 years because when I would try a new one they would see the flag and verbally abuse me, threaten me, tell me I deserved no treatment, that I deserved all the punishment. The last walk-in clinic I tried, a girl form my high school who hated me worked there. She saw my file and spread the info to people. I went to high school with and the community. There was some girl who was kind enough to tell me she heard this. Despite it being roughly 6 years after high school at this point, all the bullying and ostracizing came and spread even more. Every where I went people knew. I got dirty looks, insults, some physical stuff. people who saw my leaked nudes calling me a w**re. No one wanted to talk to me, there was too much info and I was basically exiled from anything social.
I went back to school at 25 and had an altercation with a girl. She went psycho and messaged everyone on my Facebook friends list, my job, my internship, even followed me.home and emailed my landlord not only a lot of horrible lies bit also the slur I said in high school. More social exile followed, more dirty looks, more people hating me. Idk how I pick fights with the worst people
The nazi popped.up a few times, everytime there was conveniently a cop there to witness it. Like some protector or something. One time he got a job at my abusive exBF's work and my ex shared things about what he did to me and the nazi told him about my past. I showed up at his at his work one day and I called out the Nazi for being a Nazi and he reminded me of a threat he told me about doing to me what happened to Gemma in SOA. Other people were witness to this. Someone came up to him and ripped his shirt and saw the tattoos a cop was conveniently there to assist him. And a few shocked customers walked me to my car so I could leave . The last two times I physically fought back, the first I pushed him, spat on him and stepped on his balls, the second I dragged him out of my work by his hair and threw him outside both times.he was protected by cops and I just walked away. The cop told me I should 'watch out' which is why I feel he was there to protect
I put up with it and shut down for years depressed for years, ,moving to different parts of the city, different jobs. Sometimes it came up sometimes it didn't.
A few years later I have moved 3 hours away. There are a couple people who know where but mostly none do. I have zero social media presence, two sort of friends that heard the rumors and continued to talk to me anyways (were not super close though). And my partner who knows all of this.
Now I hide away in my house. I don't work, I don't leave except to grocery shop with my boyfriend. I don't have friends I see. I just hideaway. I'm terrified of all this coming back.
I shut down for many years and only in the last few month have I been able to process all this. I'm doing self guided therapy with books and resource online and have been able to cope with a lot of my past, both my trauma and my behaviour and am a much better person than I used to be and..
..Granted no one has shown up to my house or sent me messages or anything. Bit I am constantly afraid. I want to move farther away, especially so I can get medical care but that might be a few years away. I honestly just need someone to tell me everything is going to be okay.

Hotwire
Summary: You try stealing a truck, but the truck fights back.
Warnings: nothing, maybe cursing idk, not really fluffy or sweet, reader tries to be a baddie, gets ass whooped by a truck.
A/N: Trigger-happy bot always has my heart.
1.0k Words
While Bumblebee was out on an actual mission, Ironhide was put in charge of watching over Sam for the next few days. Out of all the things Prime has given him to do, waiting for male teenager in a mall parking lot was something he never imagined himself doing.
He's been sitting in this blistering heat for thirty minutes and is already feeling fidgety.
"Blasted humans. Been fighting a war for..." He mumbled to himself, almost unaware of the guest that has arrived near his cab.
You look around the parking lot carefully, until your face becomes neutral. You make your way over to your target, as if you already owned it. You walk up to the black truck, giving a quick once over the parking lot again before placing your had on the drivers door handle. You give it a tug, jumping back in surprise when you see the door is unlocked.
If Ironhide's scans hadn't warned him, he would have surely jumped at the humans touch. He watches you and feels you pulling on his door handle quickly. Even though his cover is safe, he stays still and stays quiet, just in case. He realized your tense stature, which sets of the the first red flag. He notices your look of determination, which makes him antsy and helpless, setting of a second red flag. When you opened his door, he was cursing himself, realizing it was a custom to always locks your cars before leaving them.
You peak inside the truck, seeing nothing in there valuable, but your gut was telling you to keep searching. You hop in the trucks driver seat and reach over for the glove department. Your hand reaches its handle and you gently pull it on it. You frown as it doesn't open, unknowingly to you, somebody locked it when watching you reach for it.
"So you can't locks your doors, but you lock up your glove box." You say aloud to no one, sighing as your lean back in seat, "That's gotta mean something good has got to be in there."
You look around the truck again to see you if can find something to pick the lock. You try making yourself look natural, not wanting to grab anyone's attention.
Meanwhile, the weapons specialist is growing more uneasy. He still has no idea what to do and starts panicking more when you look around his cab. He knows he has nothing for you, but knowing Sam, the boy could have left something of his behind.
"Dammit!" He hears you say, feeling triumphant when sees you get frustrated for finding nothing.
He knew you couldn't getting anything from-
"Guess I gotta take you with me."
Your words make him pause, but once he notices your hands reaching under his wheel for his wires, he slams his door shut. He surveys the way you react, which was you yelping and back away from the door.
You look at the door that closed shut. You panic for a moment and look out the window to see if somebody caught you, but nobody's there, leaving you confused. You look at the door, wondering if maybe the wind picked up and caused it to shut.
You shake your head at the thought and decide to try to get another car, you'd been messing with this truck for to long now. You go to the door and try opening it, yet you make a face as it doesn't open. You go to click the button to unlock the door, but nothing happens. You ignore your heart which pangs in panic mode again. You try opening the door again and again, but it doesn't budge.
Ironhide watches you struggle, but could care less for his own amusement. You wanted to leave and he would gladly let you. He unlocks his door when you try to open it again. You breathe out in relief when the door pops open, making you get out quickly and shut the door with a loud slam, making the bot flinch.
You glare at your reflection on the trucks window before scoffing.
"Stupid truck." You mutter, kicking the bottom of its door before turning to walk away to find another car to jack.
You make it one step until something slams into your body, making you fall forward and hit the ground. You manage to catch yourself with one of your hands, but scratch it up in the process. You shake out your scratched up hand and groan as you feel the throbbing begin.
Ironhide views your pretty nasty fall and notices your hand is bleeding, which almost makes him feel bad for you, but he's too busy making sure you stay away from him.
You sit up and turn to look at the truck. It's door is open. It's door body slammed you. You stand up, keeping your messed up hand close to your chest. You look around the truck and see no one in sight.
You look back at the trucks door while making the decision to leave the parking lot altogether. You can't work if your hand's fucked up. With a firm kick against the door, it closes, yet you never turn your back on it. You begin taking steps back, keeping your eyes on the truck until you turn and make a run for it.
He watches you run off and finally relaxes when your completely out of his sight.
"Fragging human..." He says to himself.
The feeling of another hand touches his door handle, this time making him jump.
"Woah, 'Hide it's just me." Sam says, while getting in.
The mech grumbles at himself for being jumping, waiting patiently for Sam to get in so he can take him home. He pulls out of the parking space once Sam settles in and buckles up, the mall area.
"So anything happened while I was gone?" Sam asked, placing some shopping bags on the passengers seat.
For a moment he doesn't know if he should tell the boy about his little unplanned rendezvous with you, but decides against it. He didn't need the boy pestering him with questions. However, he was going to be pleased showing Lennox the snapshot he got of you before you left his cab.
"Nothing at all."

BEST BULL BAR INSTALLATION SERVICE IN IOWA CITY IA IOWA CITY BULL BAR INSTALLATION
Bull Bar Installation in Iowa City IA Bull Bar Installation Service near Iowa City IA:  Bull Bars are essential for the safety of you and your 4wd in highway, rural and remote-area travel, even more so when you take your 4wd off-road. Bull Bars offer by far the best form of vehicle protection against animal strikes and other collision types. Here we explore the basics you need to know when it comes to Bull Bars.
What is a Bull Bar?
A Bull Bar is a simple but extremely effective addition to the front of a 4WD vehicle. Available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials including steel, alloy, and even plastic, a Bull Bar will also provide protection when driving off-road, against logs, banks, scrub, and similar obstacles.
Why Do You Need a Bull Bar?
There’s no doubt a 4WD with a Bull Bar looks great, but the primary reasons for installing a Bull Bar are functional. You need a Bull Bar on your 4WD for: ● Human Safety – with a Bull Bar, the high energy of an impact with an animal is prevented from dissipating throughout the entire vehicle. This reduces damage to your 4WD, even more importantly, it protects the people travelling inside of the vehicle. A quality bull bar is a potentially lifesaving addition to your 4WD, Ute or SUV. ● General Protection – a Bull Bar offers general protection to your vehicle both off-road and also on tarred or paved roads. This includes protection from rocks, sticks, ruts, logs, and also in minor accidents where a front-on collision with another vehicle or object takes place. ● Animal Collision – if you hit an animal such as a kangaroo, especially at speed and without a Bull Bar, your vehicle will in all likelihood be damaged severely and even potentially be written off. A Bull Bar greatly mitigates this risk and protects your investment. ● Mounting Point: a Bull Bar provides a perfect mounting point for winches and other accessories such as UHF antennas, driving lights, and sand-flags.

Six Reasons Why You Need A Bullbar Bull Bar Installation Service near Iowa City IA: 1. Animal collisions If you hit an animal like a kangaroo then the impact can easily disable your car, leaving you stranded, or at least cause some major damage. A bullbar protects the front of the car so if you do collide with an animal then you’ve got a fair chance of driving on. I’ve hit roos at 100km/h but only on cars with bars and aside from the odd broken driving light the car was fine. Ideally, you don’t want to hit anything, but if you do then it’s a bullbar you need. Remember, minimise the chances of animal strikes by trying to travel at times other than dawn and dusk.
2. General protection Driving off-road is a bit of a misnomer, as no driving is actually done off a road. Instead, what we refer to as ‘offroad’ is really very rough roads. These have all sorts of hazards such as rocks, ruts and sticks, and the latter in particular are a real problem. They can get caught up and jammed into odd places – like the time I had a new ute on test and ended up with a stick about 40mm diameter through the front underbody next to the fog light. And that was on a dirt road at night, not even a 4×4 track. Or the time when I was a passenger in a Pajero, and noticed a large log jutting out from the side of the road, pointing straight at us. Unfortunately, the driver didn’t notice the problem and impaled the car on the log, with the end of the log about three-quarters of the way into the engine bay. That was the end of our journey and nearly the end of the car. As part of the repair the driver bought a bullbar, and while we will never know for sure if the bar would have saved us, the fact is that steel or alloy is a lot harder to pierce than plastic.
3. Winch mounting point There are ways to mount winches without bull bars, but a bar is the easiest. A tip; even if you don’t plan on buying a winch, spend the extra for a winch-capable bar anyway just in case, and it’ll also help a bit with resale.
4. Accessory mount point If you do any serious dune sand driving in the deserts or otherwise you’ll need a sand flag, and the very best place is as far forwards as you can manage, which means a bullbar. Without a bar it’s hard to create a strong enough mount. And then there’s driving light installation too, which also needs a much stiffer base than many nudge bars can provide. The bullbar is also a good place to mount UHF antennas too.
5. Approach angle improvement Always good to improve your approach angle so you don’t touch the terrain as much in hard going, and if you do, then you won’t damage a bar as much as the original plastic. Bars scuff, plastic breaks.
6. Potential for recovery points The days of vehicles with simple chassis rails extending out front are long gone, yet recovery loads are increasing. Some bullbars have recovery points built in, others as an option, and others help expose the chassis so points can be added. Without a bar it may be difficult to fit recovery points.
4 reasons why bull-bars should be avoided in vehicles The reasons for the ban are: ● Bull-bars make crumple zones ineffective by transmitting crash energy directly to the body structure, thus causing injuries and death to the occupants. ● Bull-bars may interfere with airbags from opening during accidents by upsetting the sensors during a crash. ● Bull-bars are dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and two wheeler riders. Especially when cars are being designed to reduce the impact of a crash on pedestrians, bull-bars cause serious injuries and death to other road users as they often jut out of a car during a crash. ● Bull-bars damage the chassis of a car during a big accident, as because of its rigidity, the impact is disproportionately distributed, resulting in the crash energy being forced onto the body structure.
Bull Bar Installation
Bull Bar Installation Service near Iowa City IA:A Bull Bar Installation doesn’t take long and these useful truck accessories go by many names. In American common names include bull bars, brush guards, deer pushers and cow bumpers. Conversely, in Canada they are called moose bumpers, and in Australia, they are appropriately called Kangaroo bars. If you’re hesitant about upgrading to an off-road bumper or bull bar then a grille guard might be right for you. So what exactly is a grill guard? A grill guard is a protective steel framework that extends out in front of your vehicle. Grille guards are available in either a one-piece all welded design or a three-piece bolt together design. ● As you can imagine the one-piece welded designs are much stronger structurally than the three-piece bolt together designs. The three-piece designs are less expensive. But for the best protections we recommend the one-piece welded design for rural drivers and off-roading. ● On the other hand the three-piece designs for aesthetics or city drivers only.
How To Decide Which One?
Some of our customers question if adding a grille guard to their truck makes it more dangerous for pedestrians or even passengers in other vehicles if involved in an accident. Unfortunately, studies have shown that using a bull bar increases the risk of death or serious injury to pedestrians because bull bars are rigid and when in an accident the bull bar will transmit all the force to the pedestrian, unlike a stock bumper, which will absorb some force and crumple. We recommend using less rigid bull bars if you live in the city and more rugged grill guards if you live in the country where pedestrian’s collisions are less of a concern. Bull bars usually come in three models, black powder coated, chrome plated steel, or stainless steel. Stainless steel is probably the most resilient material used for grille guard, especially stainless steel that has been highly polished to a chrome finish. The powder coated and chrome plated steel versions are more susceptible to flaking and chipping, therefore, allowing rust and corrosion. While the name grille guard suggests that these accessories will protect your vehicle’s grille from damage and they will, there are some other benefits too.   Unfortunately, with so many assorted brands and models of grille guards on the market from the extravagant pure accessory type bars, to the mostly practical it may be hard to narrow down your options.
Selecting A Grille Guard Or Bull Bar ● Look for a bull bar that has pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation of auxiliary led lighting like fog lights or a bull bar with a light bar already included. ● Look for a grill guard with removable cage tubing that covers the center section of the headlights. This will allow for servicing your truck easier. ● Look for a bar that has quick release latches. Having this feature will allow you to tilt the grille guard forward to open the engine hood for service. ● Look for a bull bar with a built-in skid plate if you like off-roading. This added benefit will help reduce damage to your front end while you’re out wheeling. Grille guards are some of the most practical and trendiest truck accessory upgrades you can choose. Your truck will take a beating when off-roading. Adding a grill guard will give your rig an extra layer of protection when it’s needed most.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is a bull bar worth it?
Without a bar it's hard to create a strong enough mount. And then there's driving light installation too, which also needs a much stiffer base than many nudge bars can provide. The bullbar is also a good place to mount UHF antennas too.
Will a bull bar stop a deer?
The Mobile Mechanics of Iowa City bull bar is sure to serve as a durable shield between you and an animal that jumps out of nowhere. One testimony shows virtually no damage to their bumper after colliding at 60 mph with a deer. No damage to the bumper also means no damage to the rest of the truck.
Do bull bars make cars safer?
Often bought in the name of safety, it is a fact that crash bars or bull bars can actually create greater danger not only for pedestrians, bicyclists and other vulnerable road users who get hit, but also for people traveling in the vehicles to which the bars are fitted.
Are bull bars dangerous?
Bull bars are more dangerous than conventional bumpers and radiator grilles as these are built to crumple on impact while bull bars do not, transmitting the full force to the pedestrian.
Is it legal to have a push bar on your car?
Registered. They are perfectly legal AS LONG AS you don't have lights on it like strobe flashing red, blue or white. And if you're looking to purchase, look up dodge charger push bars.
Are bull bars legal in the Iowa City IA?
Some states require license plate relocation from the body to the bull bar. However, all states allow installation of aftermarket bull bars as of 2018. In recent times bullbars have become popular also as a cosmetic accessory, particularly on the larger four wheel drive and Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs).
Are Full Metal Bull Bars legal?
Vehicles fitted with bars before this date are not affected. The directive insists on a minimum level of protection for pedestrians and that the bars are type-approved for the cars they are intended to fit. Steel bull bars don't meet these standards and are therefore effectively illegal.
Do bull bars affect mpg?
yes. Anything that adds weight and wind-resistance will have some sort of effect on your mpg. How much it affects it will depend on other mods and which bull bar you choose.
Does a bull bar affect airbags?
Toyota approves some bull bars that can work with its vehicles while other aftermarket bumper makers such as Mobile Mechanics of Iowa City certify that their steel bumpers will not impact airbag deployment. So, buying an airbag friendly bull bar/steel bumper is very important if you value your safety.
What is the law on bull bars?
While you wouldn't get away with one like that, it is not illegal for vehicles to be fitted with bull bars in the Iowa City IA. As long as the bull bars do not cause an increased risk to passengers, pedestrians and other road users, they are allowed.

BEST BULL BAR INSTALLATION SERVICE IN IOWA CITY IA
IOWA CITY BULL BAR INSTALLATION
Bull Bar Installation in Iowa City IA
Bull Bar Installation Service near Iowa City IA:  Bull Bars are essential for the safety of you and your 4wd in highway, rural and remote-area travel, even more so when you take your 4wd off-road.
You need a Bull Bar on your 4WD for:
●      Human Safety – with a Bull Bar, the high energy of an impact with an animal is prevented from dissipating throughout the entire vehicle.
Why Choose Mobile Mechanics of Iowa City?

Six Reasons Why You Need A Bullbar
Bull Bar Installation Service near Iowa City IA:
1. Animal collisions
If you hit an animal like a kangaroo then the impact can easily disable your car, leaving you stranded, or at least cause some major damage.
 2. General protection
Driving off-road is a bit of a misnomer, as no driving is actually done off a road.
 3. Winch mounting point
There are ways to mount winches without bull bars, but a bar is the easiest. A tip; even if you don’t plan on buying a winch, spend the extra for a winch-capable bar anyway just in case, and it’ll also help a bit with resale.
 4. Accessory mount point
If you do any serious dune sand driving in the deserts or otherwise you’ll need a sand flag, and the very best place is as far forwards as you can manage, which means a bullbar. Without a bar it’s hard to create a strong enough mount. And then there’s driving light installation too, which also needs a much stiffer base than many nudge bars can provide. The bullbar is also a good place to mount UHF antennas too.
 5. Approach angle improvement
Always good to improve your approach angle so you don’t touch the terrain as much in hard going, and if you do, then you won’t damage a bar as much as the original plastic. Bars scuff, plastic breaks.
 6. Potential for recovery points
The days of vehicles with simple chassis rails extending out front are long gone, yet recovery loads are increasing. Some bullbars have recovery points built in, others as an option, and others help expose the chassis so points can be added. Without a bar it may be difficult to fit recovery points.
4 reasons why bull-bars should be avoided in vehicles
The reasons for the ban are:
●      Bull-bars make crumple zones ineffective by transmitting crash energy directly to the body structure, thus causing injuries and death to the occupants.
Selecting A Grille Guard Or Bull Bar
●      Look for a bull bar that has pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation of auxiliary led lighting like fog lights or a bull bar with a light bar already included.

Six Reasons Why You Need A Bullbar
Bull Bar Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:
1. Animal collisions
If you hit an animal like a kangaroo then the impact can easily disable your car, leaving you stranded, or at least cause some major damage.
 2. General protection
Driving off-road is a bit of a misnomer, as no driving is actually done off a road.
Bull Bar Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:A Bull Bar Installation doesn’t take long and these useful truck accessories go by many names.
Selecting A Grille Guard Or Bull Bar
●      Look for a bull bar that has pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation of auxiliary led lighting like fog lights or a bull bar with a light bar already included.
 TIPS
 Installing Bull Bars
Bull Bar Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:Depending on your vehicle, and the type of body armor and protection you need, bull bar installation can range from a super-easy, Saturday afternoon love fest to a driveway-hosted blood match between you, the bull bar and every tool in your garage. A lot depends on the vehicle and your level of expertise, but it’s mostly dependent on the bull bar itself.
Now that you’ve got your hands on the bull bar of your choice, here are some general installation steps. We’d tell you exactly how to do it, but we don’t know what you drive or which bar you’re getting.
●      Open the packaging of your bull bar and read the installation instructions.
●      Check to make sure you have all the necessary tools and that no parts are missing.
●      Crawl under the front of your rig and locate the factory-drilled holes.
●      Bolt the bull bar brackets into the holes and torque them down.
●      Connect the bull bar to the mounting brackets, ensuring that everything is even and level.
●      Double-check that all the bolts are tight.

Consequently, why install a bull bar?
A bullbar or push bumper is a device installed on the front of a vehicle to protect its front from collisions, whether an accidental collision with a large animal in rural roads, or an intentional collision with another vehicle in police usage.
Similarly, how much does a bull bar weigh? The average weight of an East Coast Bullbar is approximately 35kg (a steel bar is approximately 80kg).
Simply so, do bull bars help in an accident?
Like grille guards, bull bars bolt to the front of a vehicle and serve to block crash energy from reaching softer front body panels - channeling it directly to the vehicle's structure instead.

The Mobile Mechanics of Albuquerque bull bar is sure to serve as a durable shield between you and an animal that jumps out of nowhere.
Are bull bars legal in the Albuquerque NM?
Toyota approves some bull bars that can work with its vehicles while other aftermarket bumper makers such as Mobile Mechanics of Albuquerque certify that their steel bumpers will not impact airbag deployment. So, buying an airbag friendly bull bar/steel bumper is very important if you value your safety.
What is the law on bull bars?
While you wouldn't get away with one like that, it is not illegal for vehicles to be fitted with bull bars in the Albuquerque NM. As long as the bull bars do not cause an increased risk to passengers, pedestrians and other road users, they are allowed.

Timeline You might be wondering how often you need to inspect your car's system. Warning Signs Apart from the general timeline, there are also a few warning signs that could pop up that are indicative of an issue with your battery. TIPS Battery Change Service near Albuquerque NM: It’s safe to say, winter weather is here to stay. Here are 7 tips to maintain your vehicle’s battery: 1) Clean your battery by removing the clamps and wipe away the grease, dirt and oxidation. 4) Coordinate your errands and trips; each time you start your car, it uses your battery’s power 5) Check the car battery water level indicator on a regular basis and fill with distilled water as needed 6) Invest in a car battery charger that will maintain the ideal charge level when your car is not going to be used for an extended amount of time. 7) Install an insulation blanket. The plastic sheet keeps the battery warm, which can be especially helpful in the cold winter months. Don’t get stuck in the cold during the winter months; maintain your vehicle’s battery to maximize its longevity!
COST How much does it cost to get a battery replaced? Battery Change Service near Albuquerque NM: Depending on power, size, and quality, prices for a replacement car battery range from about $45 to $250. Your local dealership, auto parts store or automotive service center can check your current battery or hook you up with a new car battery How much should a battery replacement cost? Depending on power, size, and quality, prices for a replacement car battery range from about $45 to $250. How Much Does a Car Battery Change Cost? Some factors impacting car battery price are the type of battery purchased and the make and model of the car. You should expect to pay between $100 and $150 for a standard car battery, and between $175 and $450 for a premium battery. Premium batteries are often designed to perform better in cold climates, and these batteries will usually have a more extended warranty.
Factors Impacting the Cost of a Replace Car Battery Battery Change Service near Albuquerque NM: Type of Vehicle If you have a luxury vehicle, you should expect to pay more for your car battery replacement price, especially if the car is newer. In most cases, you should expect to pay $150 to $350, though this amount may or may not include installation fees. Size of Vehicle A bigger engine usually needs a bigger battery. Battery Age Most batteries will last about 3 to 4 years. If you’ve had your battery that long, chances are it’s time to replace it. In many cases, the battery for an older car will cost less than a battery for a newer car. Emergency Some people carry emergency cables in their cars. These cables are used as a starter kit in case the battery fails, and the car’s battery needs a boost. Most emergency kits will range from $30 to several hundred dollars. Amount of Volts An expensive luxury car typically requires a particular battery.
Car Battery Costs by Car Manufacturer Battery Change Service near Albuquerque NM: Some manufacturers use the best materials and therefore create high-quality batteries. These batteries last longer and produce a greater, stable current. These are among the most expensive batteries, and they can cost between $225 and $450. However, most drivers choose less-expensive batteries. The most commonly used brands are about $100 to $150. Car Manufacturer Average Battery Cost Toyota $110 – $350 Hyundai $130 – $400 Ford $110 – $480 Nissan $130 – $350 Subaru $110 – $350 Honda $110 – $350 BMW $170 – $550 Mercedes $170 – $480 Warning Signs That You Need to Change Your Car Battery In most cases, you should replace the car’s battery every 3 – 4 years.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How much does a car battery replacement cost?
When replacing the battery keep in mind: The quality of the electrical connections to the battery posts is important. OMAHA BULL BAR INSTALLATION
Bull Bar Installation in Omaha NE
Bull Bar Installation Service near Omaha NE:  Bull Bars are essential for the safety of you and your 4wd in highway, rural and remote-area travel, even more so when you take your 4wd off-road.
You need a Bull Bar on your 4WD for:
●      Human Safety – with a Bull Bar, the high energy of an impact with an animal is prevented from dissipating throughout the entire vehicle.

Six Reasons Why You Need A Bullbar
Bull Bar Installation Service near Omaha NE:
1. Animal collisions
If you hit an animal like a kangaroo then the impact can easily disable your car, leaving you stranded, or at least cause some major damage.
 2. General protection
Driving off-road is a bit of a misnomer, as no driving is actually done off a road.
Bull Bar Installation Service near Omaha NE:A Bull Bar Installation doesn’t take long and these useful truck accessories go by many names.
Selecting A Grille Guard Or Bull Bar
●      Look for a bull bar that has pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation of auxiliary led lighting like fog lights or a bull bar with a light bar already included.
 TIPS
 Installing Bull Bars
Bull Bar Installation Service near Omaha NE: Depending on your vehicle, and the type of body armor and protection you need, bull bar installation can range from a super-easy, Saturday afternoon love fest to a driveway-hosted blood match between you, the bull bar and every tool in your garage.
 COST
How much does it cost to install a bull bar?
Bull Bar Installation Service near Omaha NE: It usually costs anywhere from $1000-2500 installed. You can also find cheap bull bars on gumtree (usually OEM bars). Installation costs about $300-400.
How do you remove Mobile Mechanics of Omaha Bullbar?
Removing the Mobile Mechanics of Omaha Bullbar Not sure how much bigger a 9, 9.5 or 10 is??  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is a bull bar worth it?
Without a bar it's hard to create a strong enough mount. And then there's driving light installation too, which also needs a much stiffer base than many nudge bars can provide. The bullbar is also a good place to mount UHF antennas too.
Will a bull bar stop a deer?
The Mobile Mechanics of Omaha bull bar is sure to serve as a durable shield between you and an animal that jumps out of nowhere.
Are bull bars legal in the Omaha NE?
Toyota approves some bull bars that can work with its vehicles while other aftermarket bumper makers such as Mobile Mechanics of Omaha certify that their steel bumpers will not impact airbag deployment. So, buying an airbag friendly bull bar/steel bumper is very important if you value your safety.
What is the law on bull bars?
While you wouldn't get away with one like that, it is not illegal for vehicles to be fitted with bull bars in the Omaha NE. As long as the bull bars do not cause an increased risk to passengers, pedestrians and other road users, they are allowed.

If you hit an animal like a kangaroo then the impact can easily disable your car, leaving you stranded, or at least cause some major damage.
 2. General protection
Driving off-road is a bit of a misnomer, as no driving is actually done off a road.
Bull Bar Installation Service near Omaha NE:A Bull Bar Installation doesn’t take long and these useful truck accessories go by many names.
Selecting A Grille Guard Or Bull Bar
●      Look for a bull bar that has pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation of auxiliary led lighting like fog lights or a bull bar with a light bar already included.

Are bull bars legal in the Omaha NE?
Toyota approves some bull bars that can work with its vehicles while other aftermarket bumper makers such as Mobile Mechanics of Omaha certify that their steel bumpers will not impact airbag deployment. So, buying an airbag friendly bull bar/steel bumper is very important if you value your safety.
What is the law on bull bars?
While you wouldn't get away with one like that, it is not illegal for vehicles to be fitted with bull bars in the Omaha NE. As long as the bull bars do not cause an increased risk to passengers, pedestrians and other road users, they are allowed.

There are a few vital components of every vehicle, and one of the most important is your car’s battery. That is why we at Mobile Mechanics of Omaha recommend getting your battery inspected and switched out every few years to ensure that your car is running at its top functionality. If you have any questions about this procedure, feel free to contact us. Or, bring your car into the shop if you need a new battery today!
Replacing it is just a simple matter of taking out the old battery, cleaning out its terminal, and then inserting the new one! While we work, we invite you to relax in our waiting room or run some errands and return when we have finished up.
If you’ve decided to get your battery inspected and possibly replaced, visit us at Mobile Mechanics of Omaha. We regularly update our Service Specials so you can save money on your battery test and replacement in Omaha NE!
 TIPS
Battery Change Service near Omaha NE:

Battery Change Service near Omaha NE:
Battery Change Service near Omaha NE: Some manufacturers use the best materials and therefore create high-quality batteries. These batteries last longer and produce a greater, stable current. These are among the most expensive batteries, and they can cost between $225 and $450.
However, most drivers choose less-expensive batteries. The most commonly used brands are about $100 to $150.
