Now what kind of gifts are they most likely to give?

A tin of the rose-petal chai that s/he makes using the fragrant Zadithi roses grown on Heron's rooftop garden. The masala also uses some rare spices that s/he only occasionally manages to get hold of, so hir supply is limited and sharing it is a real sign of closeness!

S/he will also buy little glazed earthenware or carved-stone pots and fill them with the scented beeswax salves s/he makes - again, the essences s/he uses are in short supply, typically made by enfleurage. S/he is limited to what s/he can make hirself (very time-consuming) or what Heron or Asra can bring hir from their travels, so sharing these with another is very meaningful for hir - s/he does not sell them in hir shop!

Jinana does a lot of barter for hir divinations and magical ingredients, and one of hir regular clients is a glassworker and beadmaker. S/he will periodically create eclectic beaded jewelry (or adorn a bit of clothing or an accessory with beads) and give these as gifts... when s/he does not just keep them for hirself! (S/he has a little bit of that magpie instinct, after all.)

obsessed w the fact that im desperately trying to research (for funsies, not work) this one civil case from 1771 where John Adams was the defense for this guy, and the only primary source on it ive ever found is from Adams's notes from the trial

and ive been stuck thinking about this for over two years now bc i want to know more about the guy who was suing for damages but he continues to elude me, but I keep talking about the case w people bc everything about it is so chaotic

and i just realized the other day "oh, Adams's diaries are digitized and searchable, maybe he has more details in there, surely this was Notable"

and the only day of the trial he even mentions it, hes just like. the court sat today. and lists what he had for dinner and details a discussion of chickens he had w his in-laws.

I behaved and resisted the sale on Ringdoll’s doll lucky bag, but did decide to buy a book on making hanfu so I can make clothes for my dolls xD Here’s hoping the listing for Ying Zhou has all the measurements I’ll need since I won’t have him here for a few months to take measurements myself.

Maybe I should start by trying to make some fancy robes for Xie Lian instead, since I have him here and can practice that way.. plus i have a ton of fabric that might work for those...
