{24/01/24} Part II: after a break it begins again
After taking a break for a job interview process I was in, I decided to take my book to the beach and read for three days. Ngl it has been really relaxing to have a change of pace. Also Im severely sunburned and in pain which makes me further hate summertime
Current progress: 10%

hi, aidoneus!! how've you been?? i hope well? i was curious — do you have any book recommendations? your tone is very articulate and distinct (positive). i just got the vibe that you might be well versed in your literature (although, i could be completely off, so forgive me if i am!!) because of that.i hope you have a wonderful day!! :)
I have been tired, but alright for the most part. And I’m glad you enjoy the writing style (I get teased for sounding like an old man haha), thank you. I wish you a good day also! Have you been well?
I do enjoy literature, and I wish I read as much as I used to. My knowledge of good/popular new releases is abysmally out of date, so I would have to ask my darling if you have more contemporary YA romance tastes. You will have to be more specific about what kind of books and genres you are interested in so I can provide more tailored recommendations. I have too varied and too many favourites to provide general suggestions.

read the chapter title too fast and thought the plot was suddenly heading in a very different direction

I’m currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo. And yes, all the thoughts, ideas, cravings for more quotes, aesthetics, vibes from it made me come back here to my safest place.

You can tell The Count of Monte Cristo was written by a black man because who else just collects multiple haters for just being moderately successful

{13/01/24} Day 0: Prelude to a series of insanity and sleepless nights
This is a bit of a blog series inspired by the Youtube channels emmie and Noor Victoria Barrage's War & Peace Reading journals except I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo. This is probably the biggest book I've ever read on my own volition so I need to hold myself accountable to finish it. I haven't seen the movies or anything and know very little about the book but I'm on a mission to read most of the great classics and this is the most daunting one on my list. Expect insane rambling and some minor fits of panic as I try to navigate this behemoth of a book with size 8 typography. Also I will warn you that I will take my time with this whole thing, so don't expect this to be a reading marathon
I have marked some ideas of what I want to track and tab while reading but I may add or subtract some if I see fit
Also Im in the middle of an internship selection process so I won’t be able to read as much since I have to prep a case study for an interview, I really hope I get this job since it pays well and is an area I really loved from my major.

I'm currently listening to The Count of Monte Cristo. I know very little about the plot, save that it's a revenge story and that people on tumblr have described the book as "insane" and Dante as a "lunatic."
I'm all for it.
I've just finished chapter 5, just another 112 to go.

So, I'm almost done reading The Count Of Monte Cristo after reading it off and on for four years and I'm not sure what I'm going to do after.
I'm sort of dreading the ending. It feels like my own adventure in the Count's fascinating, exciting, little world is coming to an end and soon I'll have to return to my reality and choose another book to read.
Thankfully, my next options to read are:
Rebecca (Daphnie Du Maurier)
The Three Musketeers (Alexander Dumas)
The Outsiders (S.E Hinton)
The Scarlet Pimpernel (Baroness Orczy)
Here are books I can reread:
The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Robert Louis Stevenson)
The Phantom Of The Opera (Gaston Leroux)

I hardly write about books here even if they're a huge part of my life. Books make me feel understood and they allow me to just be, without any type of "must/mustn't".
I'm currently reading one of the most beloved books of the whole literature: The Count of Montecristo by Dumas.
Tumblr media
Writing that I'm loving it could be a big lie: this books contains my life rn and I hardly say this when I talk about books because I never get satisfied.
Btw READ THIS BOOK and just love Edmond: too many people in his life didn't and I can swear they repented ;)
Has anyone read it? Let's talk about it! pls
ps. you might notice some grammatical mistakes: english is not my first language :)
hope that I managed to be clear anyway
