The Duffer Brothers Didn’t Forget Will’s Birthday + the Hints Everyone Missed Hiding in Plain Sight:

I encourage you to also check out this post I did a while back. It goes into some other evidence that debunks this whole fiasco even further.

The most obvious hint that was hidden in season 4 itself, is the last scene from this clip, aka the Duffer Brothers acknowledgement of Dustin’s birthday, down to the month, day, and hour.

The timeline for 4x06, which is when the Cali gang arrives at Suzie’s, is March 25th, 1986.

Dustin’s birthday, is May 29th, 1971.

Which means that Suzie’s comment about Dustin’s birthday being: 2 months, 3 days and 5 hrs away was... spot on (we don’t know what time Dustin was born, and so that’s why it varies slightly off between days and hours here).

This means the Duffers went out of their way to look on their Character Birthday/Important Dates Calendar (which 100% exists, like be serious this is the Duffer Brothers for gods sake), and did the math to calculate exactly how long it would be until Dustin’s birthday according to the present timeline they were in, just so they could throw in this line.

And you expect me to believe they forgot Will's birthday????

Why else do you think they had Mike trail off into thought trying to remember, with Will right behind him, only for Suzie to interrupt, giving an exact countdown before Mike could give it much thought?

I’m also convinced Eden barging in at the last second was meant to ironically symbolize the Duffers themselves ‘barging in’ to stop the conversation from going any further, before Suzie caused Mike, or worse, the audience, to figure things out before the events of s5.

It’s important to note that Dustin’s birthday wasn’t even mentioned in the show ever. It was only mentioned in promotion over the years, separate from canon. Which is a serious contrast to Will, who is one of the only characters to have their birthday mentioned on the show, in canon!

So why, go through all this trouble of tracking down Dustin's birthday, a birthday that's never been mentioned in the show, if they're apparently not paying attention to that sort of thing?

What makes this even more interesting, is that if they are actually fully aware of their character’s birthdays, then they know Mike’s birthday is April 7th… which means if s5 picks up roughly where s4 left off (March 29th), then Mike’s birthday is just around the corner…

Idk... It's all just a little too perfect to be a coincidence.

I got a neighbor named David.

A year ago he got diagnosed with terminal cancer, and his doctor asked if he wanted to know how long he's got left. He said no.

I wanna tell you a bit about David.

This guy's never owned a TV, a radio, a computer or a smart phone. He's never used the internet, never listened to media, every single thing he knows about current events or politics he knows from just looking around him at the place he lives.

David's the most chill motherfucker I've ever met in my entire life, and he's unbelievably friendly. Every time I see him, without fail, he asks how my art's doing, what I've been up to, how I'm doing trying to raise money to get out of Cali.

He's 65, he's lived here his whole life, same house, and he tells me all about how California was when he was younger, and how much it's changed in his lifetime. He talks about how when he was in his 30s, this place was a bit of a shanty town but people were nice, people cared about each other, everyone was friends, everyone would hang out and shoot bottles in front of their house and have bbqs and drink beer.

And now, people are afraid to go outside. There's drug addicts everywhere, rabid dogs roaming around, tweakers having freakouts in the streets, everything has just completely gone to hell and it's very clear our state government is more concerned with blaming us for our own misfortune instead of taking responsibility for the deterioration of this entire state on a political level.

When I told David I was saving up to leave California, he was super happy for me, and said that there's nothing here worth staying for, and that resonated with me really well.

This is a man who's terminal, he's going to die and has no idea when it's going to happen, and he is completely content with that. When he said to me "There's nothing here worth staying for" it struck me as philosophical. He doesn't wanna leave, this is where he's lived his entire life, there's no point for him to go anywhere. But he also doesn't want to stay here. He's at a point where he just plain does not want to be here, and understands and empathizes with me 100% that I don't want to be here either.

I don't know if I can properly convey this, but I can't stress enough how awful the state of California truly is.

If I don't get this debt paid off and get my ass the fuck out of here, I'll die here, and unlike David I will not die with fond memories of this place because my entire life here has been hell.

I'm glad that he's at peace with the life he's lived and the memories he has, and I strive to one day be that peaceful in my own mind and the comfort of the place I live in.

But right now, it's just impossible for me to live like this.

From having my debt constantly getting bigger, to having disabilities that the state keeps telling me I'm lying about, to being surrounded by drug dealers and drug addicts and homeless people shitting in the streets, to having every penny I earn with art instantly vanish because of the unfathomable cost of food, to having people on the internet so fucking blinded by the lies of these politicians that they argue with me, a person living in the cesspool that is California, that I'm "Reading into conspiracy theories" and that "California isn't that bad."

I could go on but I'm getting tired of making textwalls.

David, I strive to one day be as big a badass as you.

And I hope that in time I can chill and live comfortably and work on my passions and my dreams.

Several times throughout his performance last night, Blake Shelton held his arms wide open towards the audience, as if he wanted to give everyone a big bear hug, thanking them for the love, energy, and applause. This would be Shelton's sixth time on the rotating RodeoHouston stage, and his first time back in six years.

"I've been here a bunch of times" said Blake as he smiled wide to the crowd. "I try my best to soak up the experience every time!

It was a gorgeous evening for the opening night of RodeoHouston 2024. Guys and gals dressed in their best western outfits came out to see the rodeo, eat corn dogs and turkey legs, and see a great show. The paid attendance of last night's event was a respectable 59,461.

The set list began with the trio of "God's Country," "A Guy With A Girl," and "Neon Light." Shelton lives on the edge of several worlds: country and Hollywood, traditional and modern. He took a swig of his whiskey (or tequila) and raised his glass towards the crowd. "Let's have some real fun out here!"

It was then that Blake's wife made a surprise appearance. The superstar Gwen Stefani joined Shelton on stage for the duets "Nobody But You" and "Purple Irises." She looked like an angel dressed in a purple shawl with fringe, her blonde hair flowing over her shoulders. The country boy married the California girl, and now they make beautiful music together.

"I was holding on to that big secret, and it was so hard to not tell anybody!" confessed Shelton. "By the way, Houston..... You're welcome! That was my wife, Gwen Stefani!"

"Now let's play some of my old ones," he followed, continuing with "Ol' Red," "Austin," and "Honey Bee." Although Shelton is not quite on par with the great country music storytellers of the golden era, he is a talented songwriter, and sure can paint a pretty picture with his songs.

“Well look at that! They're doing the cell phone light thing that I like so much" he said during the song "Austin." That track was Shelton's first hit. "This is the song that got me here!"

Shelton's current tour is entitled "Back To The Honky Tonk," and which was most evident with his last songs of the night, "Hillbilly Bone" and "Boys Round Here".

"We all have a hillbilly bone down deep inside," sang Blake to the bluesy rock track. "You can't help but hollerin' YEE-HAW!" These lyrics definitely represent what Houston feels during Rodeo cook off and the 20 days of concerts that follow.

The track "Boys Round Here" has always been very humorous to me as it leans on a country rap motif that references the 2010 rap classic "Teach Me How To Dougie" by Cali Swag District.

“I love Texas!" proclaimed Shelton near the end of his set. "I love Houston and I love this place!"

He then hopped offstage and onto a black Ford F-150 and rode away into the belly of the arena.

What a great way to kick off the 2024 RodeoHouston season. The lineup is interesting and exciting this year, and we will be back a few more times for more music, more fun, and definitely more corn dogs!

So last Saturday at my work was wild. I got to speak to Sloane Siegel from Dwight in shining armor / Gotham knights.

So there was a signing event for the voice actors from Gotham Knights in California last weekend. I posted it in a discord with my friends that I played Gotham Knights with. Since Gotham Knights came out in 2022 and all of these people are constantly busy now doing their own things and working on various projects, I was sure this was going to be a rare occurance. And with this event being in California and me living across the pond in Scotland now, I was kinda bummed.

What I didn't know at the time was one of my friends from that group that lived in Cali was trying to figure out if he could make it down there.

He did, but didn't know if he could until really last minute.

I got a message from him later saying he'd found the comic store they were doing the signing at but it was still super early and the place wasn't open yet.

Later that evening at work when I had gotten everything ready for us closing for the night I checked my phone and noticed I had gotten a missed call over discord.

You know when you have little things going wrong all day and they just pile up? This was that day. So when i got a call from my friend I was expecting he was calling to tell me something along the lines of he couldn't get the signatures. I called him back, expecting to hear just that.

He asked me if i was free and I said I had a few spare minutes. He told me he mentioned me to them while he got the signatures and the VA's all knew me from either me posting and rooting for them on all their work they were doing along with some of them even liking pics of my plushies I show off that I make 😱

What I had not expected was him to keep me on hold because he was going to give the phone to Sloane so I could talk to him!

My friend had asked Sloane if he knew someone that followed him on insta by the name of whogirl and he did. He told him he was there on my behalf since I was in Scotland. When my friend told him he had me on the phone and asked if he wanted to talk to me he was like: " I would absolutely love to talk to her." 💀💀💀

Then when he took his phone he instantly said "So THIS is the famous whogirl." 💀💀💀 Guys when I say Sloane Siegel is insanely sweet, it's an understatement. He answered questions and we had a lovely conversation about projects he's got in the works along with me living in Scotland. I told him Dwight in shining armor was my comfort show and I thanked him for that character and he told me it was a comfort show of his too 🥺🥺. He wished me a good rest of my day and my shift at work and hoped that he wasn't getting me into too much trouble since i was at work. (He wasn't, luckily my manager understood because when do you get a chance to talk to an actor on the phone?)

It definitely made my day. The month of March is rough for me for many reasons so this was definitely something that made this month so much better and definitely gave me a boost.

If anyone reading this is a fan of his like I am, please support his stuff. He voiced Robin / Tim Drake in the game Gotham Knights. He's in an independant band called ICYDAY making music with a fellow actor and friend David Bloom that was with him in gortimmer gibbons and another mutual friend named Isaac. Their music is on spotify and most streaming platforms now and at this time they have 3 songs out. He's currently working on a comic that's been in development for the last few years and I am really looking forward to seeing more of his writing. “Hey, Teach,” Jackie calls after him. “Don’t forget your man.”

She points at a table where Stede’s blonde curls shine like a beacon. Curse him, Ed can’t even bring himself to object to her calling him his man. It’s not like he hasn’t been staring all night - so sue him, it’s nice to see the man cut loose, alright? Still, he’s not sure whether to be more impressed or pissed off that Stede has apparently decided his current absence of Captaincy duties means it’s time to get absolutely dance-on-the-table, arm-wrestle-strangers, knock-down-drag-out sloshed. It would be much easier to be impressed, he’s sure, if it wasn’t him who had to do the de-knocking-out part.

He sighs, and nods his farewell to Jackie before going to collect his man.

As soon as he lays a hand on Stede’s shoulder, the blonde curls bounce as he throws his head back as if pretending he had never been resting his eyelids down there on the table at all.

“Ed!” he cries, delighted. He beams, and it’s definitely the alcohol and no other reason that his eyes seem bigger and shinier than usual as Ed scoops him onto his arm so that he can support him as they stagger out of the bar. Stede isn’t putting a great deal of effort into walking. He boops Ed firmly on the nose.

“Te ataahua koe.”

Ed snorts. He can’t help himself from smiling, if only a little bit, and tries to pretend his heart didn’t just skip a beat.

“Where’d you learn that one?”

“Mary taught me. Not my Mary. Your Mary. Anne’s Mary? Cali-” he hiccups- “Calico Fucking Jack’s Mary, apparently, did you know that?” 

He launches into a tirade about Calico Jack that so screams I had the biggest crush on you that Ed almost wants to be sick. But equally, he’s hanging on every single god-damned word as he all but carries Stede down the street. Oh, he’s in deep on this one. He’s well and truly fucked.

Suddenly, Stede stumbles, and pulls them to a halt. The words die in his throat and instead he weakly croaks -

“Uh, Ed?”

“Yeah?”

“I don’t feel so good.”

A classic. Ed barely has time to scoop them toward the nearest garden-bed before Stede can up-chuck his largely liquid dinner all over them both. He avoids most of the mess, and focuses on trying to hold Stede up somewhat, patting his back sympathetically while he wretches.

“Don’t worry, mate,” he promises. “I’ve got you.”

Its sick that they're using their children for emotional blackmail. Archie never went to balmoral for Christmas or Sandringham for summer break when the queen was alive. Why are you suddenly wanting a relationship months before the coronation??

I have a very firm belief that they won't be getting a balcony photo. Charles is absolutely going to respect their wishes of their children being "private citizens" who currently don't live in the UK. Harry and meghan want approval by BP of their children, official photographs released, rolls to play in this history-making event. its just another temper tantrum, but throughout all of this both times charles has directly spoken to the public he has acknowledged (with no titles) and their life overseas. I don't think that will change on the biggest day of his life. He wrote his Christmas day speech having already known about the docuseries. Two weeks later after the book, he notified them to move out of frogmore. He's drawing a very clear line in the sand relating to the monarchy, they don't get to take advantage of it. I may not like the fact that the children have titles of a country they have no connection too, but the only thing it does is make them look really bad and desperate. And give something to charles to take away that they very obviously care deeply about.

Saying that the titles are their children’s birthright is just absurd at this point.

I’ll never for get when I was watching the Netflix series and Meghan mentioned her children’s “role” in the family. So she truly thinks her children will one day have a role in the BRF.

Remember the rumors going around that 2023 was going to be their reconciliation year? This tells me that Harry and Meghan didn’t expect TQ to die. It also tells me that they fully expected TQ to issue an apology to them after the Netflix series and the book.

The one thing that is stopping Harry and Meghan from them basking in the BRF fame is that H&M still expect an apology. For what? Who knows. But they will keep making disparaging remarks and paying for negative BRF PR because they want that apology so they can look like they are the victims and the bigger people by returning to the fold. However, the BRF have made it clear that an apology will never happen. Therefore, H&M’s strategy has backfired.

Here is what I think they expected to happen:

1. The Netflix doc and the book raising their popularity ratings to the stratosphere.

2. The Netflix doc and the book getting the world on their side.

3. Using this as leverage to garner an apology from the BRF and to demand the 1/2 in and out deal along with patronages and military titles back.

4. Once #3 happened they would graciously and benevolently accept and start their new journey as the “stars” of the BRF where they and only they attend red carpet events, state dinners, and 5 star tours.

5. #4 would show Hollywood that they are now ever more royal than the royals so they would receive the hero’s welcome back to Cali they expected in 2020.

Hey, I doubt you’d remember me so I decided to send this on anon/ let me know if this is too personal and you’d rather answer it privately or not at all, but we used to work together in New Jersey. You were pursuing an animation career and moved to cali to land a job, i was wondering if that worked out for you? I’m thinking of doing the same now but I’m looking for authentic experiences.

OH! Uh. No idea who you are with you on anon, sorry haha. But I moved to Cali right at the right and wrong time, I think. Covid came not even like a month into me moving in and I think that messed up some things. I never did land an animation job and am still currently working on trying to reach out. Personally, I wouldn't recommend moving out here unless you already have a job lined up for you here. It's hard to get into the industry even with socializing at events and such.

1. Are you named after anyone? Yes: both my grandmothers (first: masculine version of my dad's name for paternal grandma, she had a childhood friend with that name; middle: derivative of my maternal grandmother's name.)

2. When was the last time you cried? Um, almost yesterday? Really sick and wanted a pizza. I did not get a pizza.

3. Do you use sarcasm? Because it was discouraged growing up, I didn't develop the skill of friendly sarcasm.

4. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Probably their silhouette or their hand (to shake), because it takes forever for me to look them in the eye. My eyes give away everything; and I prefer to keep my transparent secrets to myself until I know them better.

5. What’s your eye color? Rich brown, shot through with red.

6. Scary movie or happy ending? Both are good; but happy endings can be enjoyed in all my various and sundry moods.

7. Any special talents? I'm surprisingly flexible-- it feel good to physically perform (though I usually flunk at sports, and it doesn't feel good to keep flubbing. Dance is great, though.)

8. Where were you born? Cali. Then I hit the open road for most of the next ~two years before moving away from mainland US.

9. What are your hobbies? Reading. Streamlining interests into lists (which are easy to translate into my fic rec posts.) Makeup (currently dabbling in green color correctors.) Sudoku. Drawing? Would love to sew; but haven't taken the time to learn the machine. But what I'm most proud of: compiling tomes of emails daily to send off w/ the day's collection of saved memes and thoughts on random internet/world events.

10. Do you have any pets? First, I had a multi-colored beta fish that had to be rehomed. Then I had two rabbits who have since passed. 1st: Bun-Bun, who was a gentleman and amazing first pet. 2nd: Elsie, who was the grumpiest, faux-aggressive female that had a larger back foot.

11. What sports do you play/have played? None. I was taught to swim briefly (still stink at it.)

12. How tall are you? 5'5; and I'm proud of that # because it's numerically pleasing.

13. What was your favorite subject in school? It depended on the day and the difficulty and the grade. Mostly it vacillated between English (easiest), Math (because while I love numbers theoretically I always, ALWAYS miss one), and History/Science (depending on how dry the material was. Physics killed me.)

14. Dream job? For a while I thought it was writing; but my heart is drawn to medicine, particularly maternal fields (if that's the way to say it?) However, I think my strengths would best suit jobs that are mainly filing or archiving and less with interpersonal dynamics.

Hello!

This is a blog I am making as a personal/connection piece to help me cope woth recent events with my DID

I won't get too into details but to give some context:

I was adopted by people who were very against and not okay with me obvious signs of DID. So I was brought to a therapist given the diagnosis at 15 then worked from 15-18 with this therapist on how to make m DID less apparent and to essentially ignore it. For a while I coined myself as a "cured person with DID." For a while i felt like it worked but with recent events I'm learning more and more that I was more convinced that things were cured than anything.

I have been switching with specific alters I have know about for a while with help a good friend of 8 years. He was the one who helped me understand and learn who these people are and helped me keep a constant timeline since for a while now, I usually have really bad amnesia during these switches.

I am trying to work on figuring out how to piece things together such as having essentially "parental control" on my phone so I can track usage or something. I have also been using simply plural and setting up a discord for myself where I can put analytics and stuff.

I am not aware if the alters I know are the amount I actually have, all the ones I have known are

Aspen: that's me currently writing this, uh I like doing bone work and uh and I think gaming is cool :))

Bramble: he is his own character and from what I have been told kinda blunt, he doesn't seem to care much about anything and from the notes I got from another friend of mine. "I can just look at you and know you switched"

Cali: she is an alter that use to be very prevalent in early stages of life and actually fronted a lot. My friends said she is pretty nice and that she doesn't really like uncomfortable topics. She is the person I assume cooks big meals, I have found myself looking for food and find risotto in my fridge.

Dot: she is someone who seems younger in age, I know she likes baths and chocolate milk.

Candle-dude guy: never talked to him and seems more like a hallucination. He looks like a guy whose melting like a candle and I always get really anxious if someone might possibly sit on him. He weirdly gives me comfort in chaos and helps me think clearly. Don't know if he's an alter but he's there

But uh, ya I'll probably post analytics and feelings with this and if someone wants to message and talk about it thats cool too :))

What book are you currently reading?

im not MUCH of a reader so i’ve been swapping between the hobbit and heavier than heaven (a kurt cobain biography) for like… a year.

What’s your favorite movie that you saw in theatres this year?

everywhere everything all at once… that movie was so fucking insane, and emotional, and honestly such an experience. never been shaken to my core like that in a cinema before.

but im also real dorky and loved the batman… and spiderman no way home… seeing tobey peter may have also shaken me to my core

OH and also fight club… which i’ve seen about 50 times already, but they were playing retro screenings so ofc i had to go watch my fav movie ever in the CINEMAS. they even had old 90s ads that played beforehand and it was so so so sick. only downside was that the place didnt have coke slushies so i had a weird tropical drink instead? shoulda just got a beer.

been rocking the cool graphic tshirt and shorts combo because it’s hot in australia again. also hawaiian shirts and crocs is a new go to fit #dadcore

It was all over the news.

Tony Stark secretly weds his boyfriend of only 2 years. The boyfriends identity has never been found out by the press but Tony often spoke of his genius young lover.

In the coming weeks there was a photo spread of the event that took place. They married at the Malibu estate but made plans to move to New York. Photos and the identity of one Peter Parker.

Stephen just got done with another successful surgery when he was gathering items from his locker at the hospital when Christine pulled out the paper. Tapping him on the arm with it, " Have you seen the paper yet? About Tony Stark getting married?"

Laughing he takes the paper from Christine, " That asshole finally married someone? Feel sorry for them, let's see what gold dig-" he stares down at the photo of Peter and Tony walking back down the isle as the small crowd cheered. Inside was an up close photo and a quick bio.

It's been years since he last saw Peter. The last time he saw him they were arguing in the rain outside of the hospital, he was just a resident then. His career was already starting and he was focused more on that then Peter. And then his wondering eye, while he never cheated on Peter he had gotten close. Peter had just gotten accepted to MIT and he decided they should break it off. Peter wanted to stay together even if it would be long distance and that they could make it work. But he had needs and he knew he would give into them. So there infront of the hospital, they had broken up.

He read where Peter was a prodigy, he in his short amount of time in school took on several masters and was currently working on his doctors in several fields of study. It's how he caught the eye of Tony Stark who offered him an internship out in California during the summer months.

And once the romance started, Peter started interning under Bruce Banner. They were currently collaborating on a genetics project. And while Tony wanted to stay in Cali, New York was home for Peter. And while Tony would move back to the state he was not going to live in Queens.

Stephen stared at the paper before tossing it into the trash. He knew Stark was having a benefit next week. Peter would be there. He just has to see for himself.

If stancy were endgame I can't even imagine how they'd handle Jonathan, unless they did it by doing a big time jump at the end where jancy had spent years together but amicably split and she reconciled with Steve later. In the current timeline, if jancy were endgame, I think Steve would move on much easier. He's already acknowledged he's a better person now, is moving forward slowly, has good friends and support in robin and Dustin and could go on and make something of himself if he pushed himself to. Jonathan is a little trickier. He has trust issues which wouldn't be helped by his girlfriend going back to the ex they said they didn't love. It would probably make him question if their relationship had ever been genuine. Would he resign himself to just staying with his family because he's so loyal and maybe because he can't afford a decent college? Does he become a loner again if argyle goes back to Cali? Would he go back to Cali with argyle to community college which I think would be a big disservice to his character.

The only good ending I would like to see for his character if jancy isn't endgame and off at college together would be for him to go to NYU but do they even remember that? I just hope they don't resolve the love triangle by killing Jonathan off ( I don't think they'll ever kill Steve, especially after Dustin's grief with Eddie) and having stancy endgame because she retreats back to Steve with Jonathan gone thinking he deserved another chance with her.

Hmmm that’s a good point about what would they do with Jonathan in the event Jancy isn’t endgame (this is just a hypothetical—they could be endgame). I mean yeah it would affect his trust issues a lot, but the bigger problem there is they don’t let him address his trust issues that come from being abused and co-parenting since the age of 12. It’s not like a relationship can fix his trust issues, even if it made him come out of his shell more.

Yeah idk—I think either he’d be devastated but expect it bc he’s already doing a ‘push them away before they push you away’ thing. Or because he’s braced for it and is really concerned for her happiness to the point he didn’t tell her about Lenora CC so she wouldn’t set her dreams aside (I still don’t get why he thinks she would), that he would accept it for the sake of her happiness, maybe?

But his self esteem is so fragile rn it seems, it makes you wonder how he’d do with his future plans—which imo is unfair to his character, a character who in s1 had problems, but was independent and had dreams in spite of hardships in his life. But now they’ve made him sort of losing sight of his dreams bc of his relationship problems which I don’t find sweet, I find unhealthy. He should be able to stand alone as a character. It also makes a lot of sense they finally showed him having all the pressure really get to him so he was basically self-medicating.

I do think Hopper becoming his father and Jonathan no longer feeling like he has to take care of his family in the same way (though he will always love and be very caring to them) would help him out whether Jancy stays together or not. He’d feel more free to pursue whatever dreams he has, even if those take him far away from home. Again, would love to see that addressed though in s5, like in a scene between Joyce and Jonathan. I do think the financial issues are still there though. And we don’t know if the show just forgot about NYU or what.

I am a little worried they could kill off Jonathan in s5 for a few reasons. But if stancy got together after that, that would look a mess.

YES oh my god thank u for asking <3 sorry it took me so long to answer again <3

first up the main trio's thoughts on fate/free will (more or less):

delwyn literally does not believe in fate. "he's the chosen one" yeah whatever. he understands in theory how prophets' magic and divination witchcraft works, but as far as he's concerned those magics show a very rough draft of the future which can be influenced and changed by any number of ppl and decisions a la the butterfly effect

for obvious reasons he starts to question this as the story progresses and they keep getting closer to the apocalypse despite their efforts to stop it. for him this presents as a lot of "maybe we're just making the wrong choices" (which. not a great feeling) but it eventually culminates in him accepting and embracing his foretold destiny

chan is a little more complex. he knows on an instinctual level that his visions are. like. the most probable set of events based on the choices that everyone's currently making/most likely to make. it's not necessarily set in stone, and chan's changed the outcome of his visions before, but he's never in his life had a vision about an event on such a large scale. usually his visions are like "you get an F on the next math exam" and he says oh shit and actually studies therefore changes the story and doesn't get an F. for an apocalypse-scale vision he's not even sure how that would work. how many ppl's choices would he have to change? how far in advance are the key choices made, if there are any at all? he's literally never done this before but he has to try!! he would never forgive himself if he had the ability to stop it and didn't

junhee is. to put it lightly. completely unhinged. he doesn't really believe in fate so much as he believes in magic. and, like, he can see magic. so magic is, according to him, sort of akin to a distant god. it's this all-powerful force that could completely sap humanity of its free will, but most of the time it doesn't care to. by and large, daily human lives go on unremarked and unimportant. but if the magic wants* something, all it has to do is pull, and humans are powerless to resist it.

( "want" is a very human feeling and magic as a force is very much not human, but we're approximating here )

tl;dr junhee believes in free will given to humanity by merit of an apathetic guardian. sort of. he doesn't really think magic is a guardian to humanity, because of, like, all the fucked up visions and stuff. but whatever.

this also leads to an interesting dynamic between the three of them b/c chan is digging in his heels, kicking and screaming and fighting the whole way down whereas junhee has accepted that all of this is inevitable. they fight a lot and delwyn is like "guys PLEASE i am trying not to cause an apocalypse over here"

on to sasha and co.:

except im actually starting w/kei first because i think that's simpler. kei is a divination witch, and as i mentioned before that means her magic is less precise than chan's. it's sort of the difference between chan seeing "a hurricane is coming" and kei seeing "a natural disaster is coming" or, worse, "something terrible is coming". a lot of the time it gets her the info she needs, but it's not an exact science. because of the imperfections of her system, she's never seen a prediction followed by an event that she couldn't rationalize as having been predicted, which means she is a firm believer in fate and has had several existential crises over the concept of free will. seriously don't mention it to her she'll start crying again

(aside from her weird obsession with divination magic in particular, kei is actually like a completely normal person. like she has friends and a social life and interests besides her magic and studies. it's weird)

sasha is a they/them from southern cali who is like insanely good at blood witchcraft. they spend like 50% of their time volunteering at hospitals and free health clinics and blood drives and such, but they can also put their magic to more sinister uses (including tracking rituals which they use multiple times to find delwyn's crew). sasha has Seen Some Shit, and that includes watching ppl make bad decisions that had some pretty dire consequences. thus they fully believe that delwyn will cause the apocalypse (although to start with kei's divinations aren't that precise) even if it's by accident, even if maybe he's the kind of person who would never normally cause an apocalypse. it's sort of like. good people make bad choices sometimes. that sort of philosophy.

hana is one of sasha's dearest friends; she doesn't actually have any magic of her own, which is part of the reason she ended up in socal despite originally hailing from georgia; when they realized she wasn't born a mage/seer, her parents tried to encourage her to study witchcraft in one form or another. she refused, cut all contact w/them the second she turned 18, and skipped town the moment she graduated and she got herself a nice degree in cs/ux design. she hasn't seen or heard from her family in 6 years lol

anyway she does not believe in fate (she hates the idea that some grand plan for the universe could be okay with individuals suffering so greatly for it) but she tags along anyway when sasha announces their plan to find the source of kei's divinations. the only reason she's okay with it at all is b/c sasha literally lies to her about their intentions lmao.

everything comes to a head when sasha reveals their plan to like actually kill delwyn around the same time that they. u know. find him. and hana learns that one of delwyn's "world-ending psycho friends" is her baby brother (chan), for whom she harbors incredibly complex eldest-daughter-trauma type feelings.

so the three of them are like. "sasha and co." they're the three who are in on the plan (insofar as sasha feels like letting on to them) and the ones traveling across the country for sasha.

so YES this has been "tsh cast's thoughts on fate" as well as a (relatively) quick and dirty intro to sasha and their friends!! thank u again for asking i love you <3
